Sukuna stayed rooted on the spot. The room went silent as all eyes shifted from Uraume to you, their look of concern morphing to that of horrified looks when they finally turned their line of vision to the pink-haired male. However, his attention was on you and the apologetic look you had as you regarded him.
“Ryomen told me how you kept telling everyone about that for his sake,” Uraume began, “You don’t have to do that here, Y/N. It’s not like we’ll like him any less or otherwise, so it’s okay.”
“Still…” Suguru glared at Sukuna. “The fuck were you thinking, man?”
You started waving your hands in front of you, your ears and cheeks feeling hot from embarrassment. “I-it was an accident. Please don’t fight.”
"We're not," Sukuna assured you, arching a brow at Suguru who had a protective arm in front of you.
Satoru, who had been silently listening to the conversation, also chimed in. “Bet he had a girl with him when that happened.”
Everyone burst out laughing and Sukuna could just roll his eyes as he carelessly bumped against everyone on purpose until he was seated next to you on the couch, swatting Suguru away. He heard your apology the moment he was close enough. “It’s fine, Y/N. It’s the truth after all. I don't have to hide anything from them now.” He handed you the strawberry milk. “I didn’t think you should be taking alcohol with your constant intake of painkillers.”
“I didn’t think that was a good idea either,” you agreed thoughtfully but you still looked at him anxiously. “Thank you.”
Tumblr media
“So, how come you’re not chasing him to hell?” Nobara asked you. “Is there some bizarre love story we don’t know about here?”
“L-love story?” If you were blushing earlier, your face was beet red from your neck to your scalp as you shook your head, but you still smiled graciously, not missing a beat when you said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“That’s very convincing, Y/N.”
You just bit your lower lip.
“Hey, stop it!” Sukuna growled, causing everyone to shut up, but he didn’t miss the way you flinched, too. It was endearing, but he felt annoyed with himself at the same time. “Sorry.”
Your familiar mega-watt smile immediately made itself evident and he couldn’t help but return the gesture. As per usual, everyone liked you, watching as how you take every snack the boys were offering, engaging the other girls in the room in friendly conversation, being fast friends with them. Your attention may not have been solely on him like all those times he accompanied you to functions, but he still felt happy watching you interact with people he trusted. As always, you attracted them, and this time, he hoped you will be real friends with them, too.

New pinned since it's been a year
He/They, call me Kc, or don't. I don't care what you call me as long as it's not demeaning. You're not getting my name on the pinned. If you saw it, congrats. Keep it to yourself.
I like to tinker with phones and computers, play video games, and draw. I've been a trainer for a year now. Studying in a school that's weirder than BBA, so expect my daily blogs to not make sense sometimes.
Talk to me about sonic the Sandslash, the Charjabug races, FPS games, Four of Swords, Pokemon Unite, and redstone.
I bite. Sometimes.
// ooc under this!
Obligatory reminder that the people of gaza are struggling, you can easily find vetted fundraisers here https://gazafunds.com/
Hello. It is I, MPC. Follows from @mpc07-foundtheinternet, but my pokeblogging hub is @physicalscream.
You might be wondering why I'm rewriting this pinned a third time. In part- I didn't like the old ones. And I think it shows a bit of the passage of time! So without further ado, let's talk details.
Common themes
KC's most common theme as a character is a struggle with pessimism and nihilism. At his worst, he views humans as dangerous and hurtful, and Pokémon as "better" (except for a few he reasonably has complicated feelings on). So he can be kind of a downer sometimes.
When it comes up, mentions of his past may contain: abuse, bullying, ableism, learned helplessness and suicidal ideation. I will do my best to tag appropriately.
His more polarizing views tend to be hidden beneath the surface. He doesn't like confrontation until he explodes. And he doesn't trust people with information that can be used to hurt him.
Boundaries
Kc Is 17. I am 22. I do not wish to tackle suggestive topics on this blog. And this likely won't change once he turns 18.
Anon hate is welcome under certain caveats. I will not respond to enbyphobic comments, and I will not interact with nsfw messages under this blog.
Pelipper mail is on, since I flavor it as an app feature. I won't respond to attempts at "messing with its limits", such as pelipper mailing yourself. I also won't be taking anything that can be classified as an in-game item. Kc is from a ttrpg, and it would feel off.
Tags!
Kc has a large amount of pokemon. He'll use a tag for each one. Instead of updating the pinned, I made a separate list you can find here. I keep forgetting to update it though.
#psyposting - generic emphasis tag. What I put there usually relates to something I wanna make sure people remember about him, or when he slips out something important. There might be... missing context sometimes.
#🌙.fandom - exactly what it says on the tin. Sonic isn't the only fandom Kc should be interested in- just a pretty big one.
#🌙.sonicposting - expect rants, vague mentions of ocs and something about ships. He's still testing the waters, even now.
Other (active) blogs:

Answer the following for your muse(s) so people know how shipping works on your blog.
Tumblr media
what’s your OTP for your muse(s)?
No specific OTP because they're apples and oranges, to me. RadioRose, RadioQueen, RadioDust, RadioHusk.
what are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?
Everything that's natural in a relationship. Domestics, slice of life, animosity, platonic, slow burn, unrequited, toxicity, abusive, manipulation, romance, what have you. It depends on the type/theme, the consent, and the chemistry.
I subscribe to romantic and sexual chemistry are two separate values. One can exist without the other.
I enjoy tropes like enemies to lovers, toxic, whump/caretaker, D/s, kick the dog, but not damsels in distress/sleeping beauty models.
how large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?
The Hazbin lore features massive age gaps because of the immortality mythos, but I would draw the line at under age differences. Physically and psychologically juvenile characters versus adults.
E.G Claudia / Lestat = fuck no.
are you selective when shipping?
Yes. I don't condone autoships, or tolerate being bullied into a ship. There has to be several parameters met — chemistry and plausibility, and my rapport with the Mun. I don't ship because the characters breathe the same air. I don't ship to collect a quota, or feel flattered if I'm treated like a notch on the bed post.
We need to have some established experience writing together, heavy plotting of course, and ironing out squicks, triggers, OOC elements, an idea of what shape we want the relationship to take. I'm not a wing it man, I need to know what you're gearing up for, I have zero interest in miscommunications or not upholding my end because you were being vague but expecting me to understand your missing cues. I'm not a mind reader. Nor, do I appreciate getting bingo'd — don't ask for slow burn or anatognistic, then barrel into with IC & OOC bullying/hounding for sex.
I haven't been flaked when ships' involved, just the opposite. Stalked/trolled when I've dumped a ship. So far, not yet in the Hazbin RPC. It's a looming threat because some of you aren't mature enough to not blur Characters from Muns, or stop treating your partner like a whore existing to stroke your kink.
how far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFT?
Heavy petting, arousal.
kinks / fetishes count, as does D/s lifestyle culture utilised in every aspect of their lives if it's a particularly spicy relationship.
Who are other muses you ship your muse with?
My Alastor's bi, so females and other male muses are on the table.
I don't ship RadioApple, and flat out refuse RadioStatic because I considered Vox a sworn enemy, there's no chemistry there except for deep seated hate and wishing him harm. I don't see any chemistry there.
I haven't been approached for ships yet with other canons, but I have with OCs.
does one have to ask to ship with you?
Of fucking course. You better. And unlike the last one who tried it, don't spring the autoship / 'y'know, we should...' bingo on me, one draft or any into the thread. Jesus H. Christ. Fuck that noise. Pinch that shit off.
how often do you like to ship?
Ships are realistically, always prevalent, growing, because the characters wouldn't develop or evolve without the friction and motivation to make decisions for alliances, adversaries, goals, comforts, coping avenues, and socialising.
are you multiship?
Yes.
are you ship obsessed or ship more-or-less?
The former. But, I don't go running for it, it's an option, not a compulsory requirement. I don't mandate ships. You don't need a ship to write with me.
what is your favorite ship in your current fandom?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
finally, how does one ship with you?
Ask. I have an Interest Checker set up, which seems to be gathering dust, I'm inclined to delete it.
I have Anonymous enabled; there's also email, IMs, Discord, Twitter, Wavebox.
You have to be transparent. If you want romance / spice / enemies to lovers / unrequited / slavery / etc, say it loud. Don't beat around the bush or play mind games with me. I'll drop the whole moot connection, not just the plot device.

Prologue: The Escape
First - Previous - Next - Masterlist - (ao3)
I saw this fic idea by @messymessyml and couldn’t help myself. I tagged the people who asked to be tagged on the original post; if you want to be added comment or send an ask ;)
Damian is 16 and Marinette is a month shy of 16 at the beginning of the fic.
the characters may be a tad OOC.
TW: Bullying, cursing (it’s censored but still there)
Damian stormed into the cave through the zeta tube. Everyone moved aside; they had not seen a look of such fury since he had first come to Gotham. Despite him not being the violent assassin he was raised to be, Robin found himself nearly following through with his usual threats. Not even bothering to discard his equipment, the heir walked straight to one of the side rooms for private discussions. As predicted, his father followed him. No doubt for a lecture.
Spinning around to face his father, Damian took a deep breath. I can’t lose my head, it won't help my case.
“Father….” there was so much defeat and anger in his voice that the bat seemed to almost reconsider his decision, almost. Robin watched his Father lift his hand to stop him from speaking any further, and begin to address him.
“It was the right call, Damian. It had to be done. You cannot just run around with superpowers. I had to deal with that.”
“It wasn’t your call.” The teen growled. “I had an advantage, Father! It would have been hard for Mother to kill me again! I was safe.”
“You do not need powers to be safe, Damian.”
“I died because I was too slow. It wasn’t your call to remove my safety net! It was mine!”
“I am your father! Everything is my call!” Daman could see that this was going nowhere. Setting his face into a scowl, he left the cave.
Left with his thoughts as he navigated through the maze-like halls of Wayne Manor, the young hero began to negotiate with himself; beginning a difficult game of mental tug-of-war. Weighing the pros and cons proved to be harder than he originally thought; it started with admitting that he may have become attached to his “siblings”, at least more than he would have originally thought he could be. On the other hand, they treated him one of two ways, all of the time; he was always either a child or a weapon. At the very least they should be able to treat him like his actual age! But, they also cared for him a lot… in their own way.  On top of that, the manor was a hugely more beneficial environment than the league ever was. His mother would also have a harder time reaching him here. That didn't stop her before.  Despite how “safe” this place was said to be, his mother still found a way to kill him for his change in loyalty. If he left, he would surely be caught. If you stay, she will know you’re here and plan accordingly.
Slowly the pros started to outweigh the cons making his decision obvious, he would run away tonight.
It wasn’t until he arrived in his room that he realized he was still wearing his uniform. Not wanting to return to the cave, the heir simply folded the uniform and placed it at the end of his bed. No doubt Pennyworth would retrieve it in the morning. He glanced around his room. There weren't any decorations aside from the occasional painting or katana. Making up his mind, Damian went through his few belongings that mattered. He had to be careful to find ones that would not have a tracking device in them. I’ll have to go to my safehouse for clothes. He gathered up all his weapons that wouldn't be noticed gone and wouldn't be flagged by airport security. Putting everything in a bag, he snuck out his window and took off for his apartment. Leaving only a note that read, I need space, I will be at one of my safehouses, off grid.
___________Marinette pov______________
“You b*tch!” a loud slap echoed across the school courtyard. “Not only are you a liar and a bully, you’re a thief too!” Alya screamed, waving her hands around. “That’s Lila’s life’s work and you just claim it as your own! Lazy, fat, sl*t!”
“But, Alya! I have my sig–”
“I didn’t say you could speak, wh*r*.” Alya said, grabbing the designer’s shirt. “You are going to stand up; walk over to Lila; apologise; and give her her sketchbook back. Understand b*tch.”
“No.” Mari took a deep breath and shoved her building emotions back down into their designated corner. “I will not apologise to Lila because I did–”
        “What did you say b*tch!”
        “I said no.”
        “You piece of sh*t.”
At this point Marinette just tuned her ex-best friend out. She always said the same things.  So the heroine only waited.
After school Marinette left for home immediately; she did not want to be in any trouble for being late for her shift. With twenty minutes to spare, the girl leapt up the stairs three-at-a-time to reach her room with enough time for concealer. She would probably be grounded for operating the register with marks on her face. It’s a good thing that my miraculous has healing properties or I wouldn't be able to work at all.
While at the till, a swarm of wasps swept through the shop stinging everyone, except Marinette. As soon as she saw the wasps, she took off for the walk-in freezer in the back of the bakery. Tikki fazed through the door to see when it would be clear to leave the freezer.
        “All clear Marinette!” Tikki chirped.
“Thanks.” The hero swung open the door and took off running for the Seine.
Upon arriving at he famous river, Marinette dove into the water scattering the trail of wasps behind her. Pulling out the water powerup, Mari was amazed to discover that even underwater the macaroon did not get soggy, but remained its usual texture and firmness. Calling for her transformation again, Ladybug sprinted to Master Fu’s location unaware of the villain tailing her.
“Master Fu! May I use the snake miraculous?” With a nod, Master Fu pulled out the miracle box and selected the snake miraculous.
“Thank you!” LB called out as she left merging the two miraculous. Lately, Marinette had taken to using the ladybug and snake miraculous together having taken the cat miraculous away from Adrien.
Arriving in front of the town hall, Ladybug surveyed the battlefield. In front of the akuma, Miracle Queen, stood all her previous allies: Adrien, Luka, Ivan, Nino, Max, Alya, and Kagami. They all appear to have been stung by the wasps. At that moment, Hawkmoth arrived bearing the miracle box! Hawkmoth passed the box to Miracle Queen and the students stepped forward to take their respective jewels. All but two, Luka and Adrien. Ladybug had both of those miraculous on her person (the black cat miraculous was in her yoyo) She was about to enter the battle when Master Fu leapt over the building in pursuit of the villain weilding the turtle as Jade Turtle. At that moment Ladybug engaged the various villains calling for her second chance.
As she landed, Pegasus opened a portal to space. Reactivating second chance she tried again, and again, and again, and again. Until she managed to take the dragon and horse miraculous back.
There was a rush of wind and all the holders before her, except Hawkmoth and Myura, were stripped of their miraculous as a light formed above her head. Oh no, Master Fu! The miracle box fell into her hands. Using the destraction Ladybug broke and purified the akuma.
She ran to Master Fu as quickly as she could.
“Master Fu! Are you okay?” She waited with baited breath.
“Hello, young lady, do I know you?” There went any hope I had.
“No, I’m just a concerned citizen.”
I dropped off the miracle box in my room before releasing Tikki from my transformation and entering the bakery through the front. Her parents were there, waiting for her.
“We’ll talk about this later.” Sabine said smiling at Marinette with daggers for eyes.
“Yes, Maman.” Nope. Nope. Nope. Not today. Not ever.
As soon as Marinette reached her room, she pulled out the miracle box, a backpack of clothes and sewing supplies, and her toiletries (she could pull money out of her account later if needed). Opening the box, Marinette took out the horse miraculous releasing Kaalki.
“Master F– where is Master Fu, Marinette.”
“Gone, he relinquished his guardianship when hawkmoth cornered him.” She put on the glasses. “I need an escape; is that ok Kaalki?”
        “Of course guardian.”
The girl called for Kaalki’s transformation, summoned a portal, gathered her belongings, and walked through.
Authors notes will be at the end from now on (minus warnings and such)
what should i call this story?
Smiles and love, Jjmjjktth <3 :)

leon s kennedy x reader // 3 // hell's comfort
"come sit down, jill. we'll explain." leon gestures to the cot as you rest your head on his bicep. "sure." jill shrugs, following the two of you in, and settling down on the other end of the makeshift bed. when leon sits with his back against the wall, you curl up into his side, still uncertain of jill's company as the blonde speaks to her about what he's gathered so far.
genre: angst with comfort, fluff <3
tags: leon being a sweetie/protective, he wants to help, jill still may be ooc im sorry :(, big bully david >:(, there will be bullying in this chap, the entity (tm), leon literally being a big puppy, cuddles!, biggie slow burn. the entity literally just vibing. handcuffs 🥵, fighting
warnings: bullying + violence, fighting, crying, angst
---
jill had left to think already, leaving the two of you alone. both she and leon wanted to help you, but you don't know how they could when it was you (and leon) against the world here. "c'mon, you must be hungry." leon smiles, offering you his hand when he gets up. "not really.." you mumble, avoiding his soft gaze. "really? you haven't eaten since... well i'm not sure but you haven't eaten yet! let's keep your strength up." leon says, taking your smaller hand in his and leading you in the direction of the campsite. "wait! i don't wanna go there..!" you cry, jerking backwards to your shack, pulling leon with you. "okay, okay." leon grabs your arms to give them soothing rubs as he hushes you incase anyone hears your panic. "you wait in the shack, and i'll go get us some food, yeah?" the officer smiles but you refuse to let him go so easily. "can't we wait a little longer..?" you pout and leon sighs. "no, i'm making it my duty to take care of you, and that includes making sure you eat." he says, letting go of you to take your hands. "i'll keep you safe. i promise." you can't help but give in, following leon towards the campsite reluctantly.
you tense at the sight of the others, but they didn't see you or leon, too busy wrapped up in conversations. "come on whilst they're unaware." leon whispers, leading you to the fake kitchen area the entity had set up. a pot of oatmeal bubbled, and you grimaced at the sight and smell of it. "hmm.. there has to be something around here..." leon hums to himself, letting go of you to search around. "leon.." you whine at the sound of footsteps, grabbing his arm to hide behind him. "what?" he whispers back, turning to the door where claudette stood.
leon's stomach sank as she stared at you. she opened her mouth to say something but leon cut her off. "please, don't tell the others. we're just getting some food and we'll leave." he raises his hand as if claudette was a feral animal, trying to show that neither of you were a threat. claudette hesitates, glancing over her shoulder at the campsite before looking back at the two of you. "david!" she called, and leon cursed under his breath. "i'm sorry..." she whispers before leaving. "what?!" the brit yells, his eyes darkening at the sight of you and leon. "well, well.. look who's in our camp." he spits, crossing his arms. your breathing picks up and you grasp leon's sleeve tightly. "david." leon straightens up his posture, pulling you fully behind him. "what ya got there, rookie?" david taunts, jumping to try and get to you but leon moves with him, hiding you affectively. "leave them alone, king." leon demands, voice harsh.
the fighter laughs loudly, and your stability crumbles at the sight of the whole camp staring at you. "leon.." you whisper, voice wavering. "where've you two been anyway? off fucking somewhere i presume." david sneers, trying to take another lunge at leon, but the officer is quicker, still trying to keep you away from your harasser. "leon..!" you whimper again but it falls on deaf ears as leon argues with david. "you're wrong actually. unlike you i actually care for the people around me. that's why i'm a much better person than you." leon shoots back, and david snaps, swinging for the blonde.
leon ducks, pushing you out the way as he tackles david. the fight escalates as the camp gathers round, some cheering on leon whilst the majority egged on david. "leon!" you yelp, shrinking back with cowardice despite your burning desire to help him. you gasp as arms tighten around your waist, pulling you away from the fight. "leon!" you wail again, catching the blonde's attention as he punches david. "y/n!" leon yells, going to scramble after you but is stopped by david grabbing his ankle and pulling him back for more.
twisting around, leon's boot found david face as he kicks the other man away, turning back around to scramble to get you, but you were already gone. "shit." leon hisses, not seeing how jill was running off in your direction. david's nose poured with blood as he groans, getting up to swing at leon. catching his wrist, the blonde quickly detains the fighter, handcuffing him before stumbling off into the tree line to try and find you.
you whimper as jake sets you down on a fallen tree, letting him ruffle your hair. "you alright?" he asks softly, and you shake your head no. "uhh..." jake glances back at the campsite through the trees. "hold it, asshole!" a female voice snaps, and jill emerges through the brush. "jill!" you yelp, getting up to latch onto your new friend. "cool, i was just leaving." jake shrugs, trudging back to the camp. "are you alright." jill asks as she glares at jake. "leon... where's leon?" you whimper as jill sits you back down. "don't worry about him, are you alright?" jill asks, cupping your face with her hands, wiping away any tears with her thumbs. "y/n! jill! thank god." leon gasps as he hurries to you. "are you alright?" leon asks desperately as he searches you for wounds. "they seem fine, just a bit shaken." jill answers for you. you cling to leon tightly, crying against his neck as he scoops you into his arms. "it's alright. i'm okay. i'm sorry that went down, i should of had you wait in your shack." leon sighs, holding you tight. "i'm gonna go check on everyone, try and keep the peace." jill stands, ruffling leon's hair before leaving. "thanks." leon calls after her and the woman only salutes over her shoulder as she walks away.
"leon.." you whisper, voice hoarse. "i'm here." the blonde assures you, pulling away to wipe your tears. "i'm sorry he did this to you.." you frown, cupping leon's bruised face as shakes his head. "don't apologise for that asshole." leon says sternly. "it wouldn't of happened if i wasn't there! i'm sorry." you whimper, pressing your forehead against leon's for comfort as he sighs. "none of this is your fault. i'm gonna fix all of this, alright?" leon whispers, pulling your head away from him as he looks at you. you look unsure, but nod. you trust him fully and he knows it. he also knows that you both have the same idea, and leon can't help but sneak a glance at your lips as you grow a little closer to him. "leon..?" you mumble, and he smiles, pulling you a closer and closer.
"my sincerest apologies for interrupting, but i have some news." a shadowy voice interrupts and the two of you jump, leon pulling you into his chest protectively. "who's there?" he demands, searching for the voice. "i'm here." the entity purrs, deep voice rumbling in your ears. "no one is in trouble. it was quite amusing to watch your performance but mr. kennedy..." the god trails off as leon looks up at the dark sky. "i'm sorry to say that your handcuffs are being confiscated until i know you wont do this again." it says, dangling leon's cuffs above his head with a sharp claw. "i won't. i was forced to." leon reminds the entity that he started nothing, and you can practically hear the entity thinking. "i suppose so, but it is still unacceptable." the entity says, voice ever so calm. "what, and bullying your teammates isn't?!" leon snaps, standing to try and snatch his handcuffs back. "mr. kennedy..." the voice warns as it raises his handcuffs higher. "you're a monster. an absolute joke. when i figure out how to kill you, i swear-"
"mr. kennedy." the entity silences him with a firm snap and leon falls into silence. you glance at him nervously as more claws descend, grasping leon out of your hold and hauling him up like he weighed nothing.. "might i remind you that nothing can kill me. i am a god. i am your god. your pathetic little threat won't go unnoticed but for now i'm feeling generous as you are new, and most newcomers feel the same way." the entity's voice sends chills down your spine as you stare at leon anxiously. "i will grant you your handcuffs after fifteen successful trials. then you shall receive them. until then, i shall bid you farewell." the entity suddenly drops the blonde who lands on his back with a pained grunt.
"asshole.." leon hisses as the entity takes it's leave. "leon! are you alright." you rush to pamper the blonde as he sits up. "i'm fine, don't worry." leon flushes red, getting up and offering you his hand. "come on, lets get some rest, hm?" he smiles, and you take his hand to follow him into the woods.

Miraculess Ladybug Salt AU: You Always Liked To Play With Fire ~ The Prologue
Hey everyone, this is a new story I wanted to introduce to you all.
I’ve been putting everything in a massive word doc because I had so many ideas and finally settled on putting it out today because it's my birthday. 29th, I may have updated it late.
Yay.
So as a special treat, here’s a new series with a few original characters, ones you know or have been changed ever so slightly to fit, in a Miraculess world. (haha, you see what I did there? No… I’ll leave)
Also for anyone new, I’m a multi-shipper so I ship my characters with a bunch of other people, as I like Lukanette (Fandom Version), Daminette (Fandom Version), Felinette (PV Fandom Version), Marichat (Fandom Version) and I guess Rosannette. What’s Rosannette? Well, I guess you’ll have to find out, won’t you? (also no that’s not a typo, it is Rosannette)
Also, I guess this will just have the usual salt, maybe more, I don’t know. I kinda want it to just be about these two.

Note: I haven’t tagged anyone just in case, this is a different series from my other, I just got really excited and wanted to write it. If you still wish to be tagged for this story please say and specify.
Also: This is a salt story, it will have OOC moments from everyone so it will be classed as an AU. If you don’t want to read that’s fine, and have a nice day.
Well, I hope you’ll enjoy it.
This is for all the people that might prefer Rosinette (like from the songfic) instead, I don’t mind but it won’t be in my main series, so I hope this will satisfy you.
(Word of warning, I believe this will be an AU where the Miraculous don’t exist, and non-canon to my official story and I believe mentions of a panic attack might be lightly mentioned, don’t know if it is, but if someone could check and I’ll make the warning clearer that would be nice)
Summary:
(Fire doesn't exactly have anything to do with this story I just really liked the title)
Note: This book contains OOC scenes of Miraculous Ladybug as well as a ton of salt, so if you don't like that stuff you may scroll past and have a nice day.
In a world with no Miraculous, no Hawkmoth and no Ladybug, how does our little heroine do?
Well, it usually would be hanging out with her friends, as any other teenager would do...
But, of course, this wasn't normal.
This was reality. It was cold, hard and definitely not welcome.
So, when this girl wishes to have some kind of adventure in her boring, mundane life...
How long does it take for her to regret it?

Memories, it's such a simple word yet it holds so much meaning. One could either wish to forget everything from their life, and simply move forward so they could pursue their dreams. Or, simply relish in the past when they remembered how great it was, all the friends they had made, all the moments they had which were too good to let go.
.
But, I guess sometimes, you did have to let go. But let go of what exactly? Let go of all the happiness once you knew how it would end? No that would be too harsh and you’d turn bitter. Let go of all the sadness? But, wasn’t it an important life lesson to learn, sometimes, you just have to be sad because of the situation at hand. No amount of croissants or macarons would be able to lift your spirits back.
.
Or maybe that was too much of a specific example.
That was what Marinette had thought, staring at an empty glass so intently the man behind made himself disperse from the amount of time the unblinking woman just stared and never flinched.
She guessed it hadn’t all been bad, she at least had some form of happiness before it was violently ripped away, but part of her wondered, what would’ve happened if she never felt that type of happiness before? Would she have felt like she had for so long, was it the fact that she knew what being happy was like before worse? Because, as depressing as it sounded, if she hadn’t been as happy, would she have been as upset?
She would never know, she couldn’t go back in time since that was impossible, but the thought always came and went whenever she was alone with her thoughts.
So… Maybe it was for the best, that she was able to remember what real happiness felt like.
The tight feeling in your chest, butterflies in your stomach, face being so red anyone would worry if the bluenette had caught a cold instead-
Wait- this was an oddly specific kind of happiness she felt, surely she must’ve gotten mixed up with some other felling right?
Right!?
So, how come she was feeling this- incredibly bright heat from her cheeks when she felt a hand on her shoulder?
We may need to go back several years.
***
In a classroom in Collège Françoise Dupont, a young pigtailed girl sat at the back, tears silently falling onto her knees and bawled up fists. She didn’t see any use of wiping them away, since they would just come back anyway, and it would be useless to just repeat that endless cycle. She hadn’t looked around to see anyone else’s faces, they would either just ignore her, or taunt her for just crying, for just being human.
Now you may be wondering why she was so upset? What possibly could’ve happened to make our very cheerful and sunshiny girl become so hunched over she was practically crying her eyes out? Well, the answer lies on the one girl at the front. The one girl sitting in an all too familiar place. The one girl who just ruined all of her newfound friendships.
Lila Rossi.
And boy had she hated that name.
She couldn’t stand that smirk, that thief, that scandal!
And what exactly did she do?
.
She lied.
Now you may be thinking that may not have been all that bad, but it was.
Every time she opened her mouth, everyone would fawn around her, even Alix, the one who seriously couldn’t care about anything to do with glamourous celebrities, was hanging on the edge of her seat to hear one of Lila’s so-called stories. She just had to guess Lila held up a treat over her head to keep her being obedient enough.
She hated Lila so much because she was just using everyone to get an easy life at school, the fastest way towards popularity she guessed, but why she thought this was the fastest way was beyond her.
She hated Lila because she had spread so many lies, so many rumours, all about her. All so out of the realm it was such a surprise they all believed her without a shred of evidence.
It had happened so fast, one day, they were all friends, smiling and laughing like there was no tomorrow, the next, she was surrounded by those faces, those faces of disgust and hatred. As if she had committed even the worst of crimes, more so than Chloé, speaking of, who was absolutely enjoying this show.
But undoubtedly. What she hated about Lila the most.
.
Was that technically, she didn’t have to do that much.
After so many sessions of crying, and just not believing that they could possibly leave her, a friend, like that, she started to reason with herself, that maybe it wasn’t just Lila that pushed them all away.
She thought back to before.
Before they were friends, before Alya even came to Collège, she had been alone. Chloé had always gone out of her way to relentlessly bully her, and no one wanted to be friends with her with Chloé around. So she accepted it, just hoping one day, karma would seek justice and she’d be put in her place.
So she waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And-
Gave up.
She accepted defeat after all the years. After the meaningless conversations with teachers that she should try and be the bigger person and rise above all of her hatred for her. Simply because they couldn’t do anything. They had no power over the mayor's Daughter. So they just let her continue her reign over the school.
She didn’t have any powers to stop her.
.
But then, a light of hope came.
The new girl, with ombre brown and red hair, glasses and hazel eyes. A striped t-shirt and an undeniable Aura that reeked of confidence.
As Marinette was being targeted by Chloé yet again, she came in, and for once, stood up to her. Chloé! No fear in her eyes as she, Alya, grabbed her, Marinette’s, hand and walked off to the desk at the front.
She couldn’t believe it, someone stood up to Chloé! She thought it had only been a myth, a legend, but that right there, it was real.
They became friends faster than the speed of sound.
And soon, she too was able to stand up for herself. Reclaiming her original seat back, and citing a quote her new friend had said… Then everyone had wanted to become friends… And, she felt ecstatic.
Finally. It finally came. The day she had prayed for had come. She felt nothing but pure joy.
And she didn’t want that feeling to go away.
She was terrified that the feeling would go away.
So, she thought of making sure that feeling wouldn’t go away.
That’s why she made so many ‘spare’ macaroons to give away, she didn’t spend her free nights staying up and making them, no way.
That’s why she provided so many free gifts to her friends. What? Her hand has a plaster, no she just tripped and hit herself, it had nothing to do with the gifts. Don’t worry, try your gloves on, do they fit?
That’s why she was late for class. Huh, no I’m fine, I’m not tired… But I might just rest my eyes for a bit, wake me up when something important happens.
That’s why she was so happy to realise Adrien wasn’t as bad as Chloé, the small gentle soul that he had, to graciously provide her with his own umbrella, how selfless.
And that’s why she held onto the idea of Adrien so much. The idea that he was perfect. The idea that she was in love with him.
So, she held onto it.
No, she clung to that idea because she didn’t want any chance to let go. So, she may have gone a bit overboard, with the whole, schedule thing, and the phone… And the schemes. But she believed it was harmless. No one else seemed to have any problems with it, so she believed she was in the clear.
Until she wasn’t.
And Lila used that to her advantage.
She remembered that day so vividly, just like all those other memories. The day she came. The day she would find herself in the same predicament from before, it hadn’t been that long since she had been friends with everyone in fact. She was still getting used to it, and her feelings grew as each day passed by.
She remembered when Lila introduced herself to the whole class, and at first glance, anyone would just think she was an innocent little girl. But behind that smile, behind those eyes, held a sinister intention.
She, in less than an hour, had everyone wrapped around her little finger.
Even her.
She’d been on a private jet?
Had a song written about her?
And saved Jagged Stone’s cat?
There was no way Adrien would fall for her now.
…So maybe she had been jealous of that girl before she had done anything. But she had every reason to. She, Lila, was pressed against Adrien who was happily talking to her. The love of her life! She had to do something, even if Alya had given her a disappointed look she just had to stop them from confessing their love to each other, it was inevitable now, so she followed after them to the park. If they even got too close, she was sure she could just conveniently interrupt, she just had to wait for the perfect moment, she only had a couple of hours before they would fall in love, get married, have three kids and a hamster named-
“Wow Adrien, you’re so nice to me. Y’know I really thought moving here would be just like all the other times. But you’ve really made me enjoy my first day Adrien.” She smiled so sickly sweet Marinette wanted to hurl, how dare she just hold onto his arm like that, so affectionately!
“Its no problem Lila, that’s what friends are for.” She smiled, hugging him so fast they almost lost their balance from sitting on the bench, before seemingly giving him a quick peck on his cheek, only for Adrien to turn his head towards her.
And they kissed.
However, it wasn’t a simple quick kiss, by all means, Adrien should’ve realised his mistake and pulled away.
But he didn’t, what felt like forever lasted a minute. One minute to realise that it should’ve been an accident. But they stayed like that.
It- it was over, wasn’t it? This wasn’t her being melodramatic, she just knew how it would turn out. They were going to fall in love so soon, she wouldn’t have a chance.
If only she had seen the look Lila gave, spotting her retreated form from behind a small trash can, the smirk would’ve given her shivers.
***
Getting back to Collège had taken longer than expected. Maybe it was the small amount of dread knowing she may have lost her love for good. Sure, there might have been Kagami as well, she had tried to sabotage her chances with Adrien too, but it always worked out in the end, Adrien always smiling as Kagami’s cheeks burned with redness. But to say they were friends afterwards.
Marinette would cringe at the fact she always felt so relieved afterwards reflecting years later at her choices. But she had always believed she would still have a chance.
Until today.
Lila came, and took him away, within hours.
And she couldn’t stop it.
Walking along the stairs to her class she had to keep her head held high, if she showed weakness, that would mean she was sad, she wasn’t sad, she couldn’t be sad. She still had all of her friends after all.
Maybe now, they could do more activities, after crying and eating a ton of ice cream of course with cheesy movies to brighten her mood up.
But, this would only be the beginning of that negative feeling.
Opening the door, she would be fully aware of something terribly wrong. At the front of the classroom, a crowd had formed, and a crowd that would soon become a routine in this classroom.
But a crowd formed around a girl, the new girl, Lila. She had seemed to be covering her eyes, water dripping down her eyes, no wait they were tears. What had happened?
She didn’t realise she had spoken those few words before heads turned around, looking- no glaring at her, why were they-? What had she done?
“Marinette I knew you could be a tad jealous but to actually do something like that” Huh? Oh no, Lila must’ve noticed she followed them, how embarrassing, and definitely not the best first impression she could’ve made.
Before she could apologise, before she could explain she really didn’t mean any harm. She didn’t have time to.
“To threaten her to never talk to Adrien again because she likes him. Well, I never thought you’d put your jealousy out like this.”
What!?-
No- she didn’t- she, just saw them kiss.
She didn’t even speak with her.
Why would she say this?
Why didn’t she say anything?
Why wasn’t she defending herself?
Why was she letting them believe that so easily?
Why
Why
Why.
.
Why was it so hard to breathe?
Running out of the classroom was easier than looking at all of those faces. Those accusatory faces. She hated it, she couldn’t do- defend- explain.
She- just-
She-
She-
She-
She was in a room?
The bathroom.
It didn’t matter why, as long as she was alone, she could cry to her heart's content.
The fear seeped over her just like that first time, knowing Chloé had won and would never stop, she had lost and lost everything.
Everything she had worked so hard to obtain.
Everything she had worked so hard to keep.
To make sure she didn’t have to let go.
And now it had gone.
Because it was then Marinette realised. That girl, those tears hadn’t been real, there she saw her eyes hadn’t been red or puffy, the tears’ dried up rather quickly, and the inconsistent wails made it very likely she was only doing them for effect and sympathy.
That girl. Was lying!
That must’ve been it.
No way could she be telling the truth. And no way could ‘I saw her around me and Adrien’ be translated to ‘she threatened me, I’m so scared of her’
Maybe, maybe with that, there was hope.
If she could just simply convince her friends that she was lying, then everything would be all sorted.
And maybe she and Adrien-
Wait, she was getting a little ahead of herself there.
Wiping her tears away she proudly opened the door, ready to face her fears.
Too bad her fears were much much stronger.
No matter how many times she would try to prove her innocence, it became worse.
When she tried going to the teachers, they bat an eye with her responses. Obviously not taking her seriously, and just believing it to be some teenage drama, she was pushed out of the classroom and told to try and just be nicer and make friends with her.
That was harsh but expected.
She tried talking with Alya, she turned away from her. Not wanting to hear anything come out of a crazy stalkers mouth.
That had hurt.
She tried talking with any of her other friends, y’know, the ones who ‘always’ had her back.
They too turned from her. Believing Lila without a doubt, I mean, they knew how jealous Marinette could get, it wasn’t that much of a stretch to think she would jump to that, considering the situation.
That felt like a punch to her gut.
She tried talking with Adrien, even if she did stutter and always lose her words around him. But this was more important, than a silly crush.
.
She wasn’t used to saying that.
But, the way he looked at her, it felt like- pity.
He told her he already knew.
He already knew? Wait- then why didn’t he say anything?
Because, as the naïve little boy stood so tall and ‘innocent’ he simply wanted to help her through his own way.
“She was only lying for attention,” He said.
“Once she finally makes some real friends, she’ll stop,” He said!
“In the meantime, you should really drop this, it would be just awful if you were to hurt Lila again. After all, she hasn’t hurt anyone, she doesn’t mean any harm”
.
.
She stood in shock.
This was the boy she had fell for?
This spineless- foolish- Son of a-
“So please Marinette, don’t cause too many problems for her, you shouldn’t be so harsh on her. If you really value our friendship, you’ll do it.” He smiled before walking off, leaving her to her thoughts.
That felt like someone had walked over to her, ripped out her heart and squashed it in the palm of her hands, all while grinning.
Why, why wasn’t she able to see before? Did her heart want to deceive her by falsifying all of his qualities? Was she just blind to bear witness to him not being as perfect as she made him out to be? Was it because she just couldn’t entertain the thought of letting go?
She didn’t know, she just hated this negative feeling. It felt so familiar. She wanted it to go away.
Unfortunately, that feeling would only grow for months.
And it was about to be worse.
“Huh? Marinette? Why are you crying? If this is about what happened this morning, don’t worry, I’ll forgive you” She was crying? Huh, when did that happen?
Whatever, more importantly.
“W-What, no you don’t have to forgive me because I did nothing wrong” Lila’s worried expression faltered for a bit before she grew ‘scared’
“H-Hey, I didn’t realise you felt like that. Oh, you poor thing” Her eyebrow snapped, she seriously didn’t like being called a thing.
“Save it, I can’t prove it but I know you’re just lying to everyone here. And you need to stop, you’re going to hurt everyone when they find out. You need to confess” Her face faltered again, but it never recovered, her once innocent eyes hardened as she smirked, a look that seemed almost natural, as if she had perfected it by looking into a mirror countless times.
“Oh, so you’ve finally figured it out? Figures, I was told you were the smartest one, and it seems like I wasn’t wrong”
“What?” Lila sighed, maybe she had put too much faith in her being the smartest.
“Ugh, you’re so young Marinette. I haven’t told the truth all my life, why the hell should I start now?” Marinette was stunned, why, why was she telling her this?
“Honestly, and I thought Adrien was naïve. Look, I’m not here to play games, I have this whole routine wrapped up. So just sit back, stay out of my way and I might consider making another lie that would benefit you.” It was an offer any reasonable person wouldn’t refuse.
Unfortunately for her, she didn’t want a reasonable offer.
Marinette stared, she was- she was fully aware of what she was doing?
“B-But you’re going to end up hurting everyone, you need to stop, please!” She begged.
Lila frowned.
She was just like all the rest.
“I don’t care”
Huh?
“I said I don’t care, seriously don’t you get it yet? I’m here to win by all means necessary. You were in the way so I took you out. They are just little trophies to remind you of my victory. You had your chance”
She stood still, this situation felt so familiar, but she had to stay strong, she couldn’t give up now. If reasoning with her won’t work, then maybe understanding might, and she could work with that.
“Why are you doing this, do you really not care about when you get caught? About how everyone will feel when they know you promised nothing in the end?” She hoped she would see some sense. They were good people, they shouldn’t be manipulated into this, she was sure they would’ve been friends regardless of what she had promised.
“It’s because I can”
.
“What do you mean?”
“What I mean, dear sweet Marinette, is that because I am able to, I can. I’ve had years of practice with this, and the result always has me at the top, all that oppose me either stay at the bottom or beg for mercy from moi. It's always a delight to see their hope diminish. To realise they would do anything but to be alone.”
Alone- that word, that word stuck with her so much.
She didn’t want that- but she didn’t want her friends to be tricked either.
“Besides, you made it so easy for me, in reality. You only have yourself to blame”
“What- I didn’t even-” A finger was wagged in front of her face.
“Ah ah ah. You really should know better than that. A calendar full of Adrien’s schedule? A box full of presents for Adrien? Sabotaging dates? You’d think I’d have made it all up, it only made the end result so much greater. Seriously Marinette, I don’t even know if I’m the bad guy here, what you’ve done really isn’t appropriate behaviour. But I do know of a great therapist, they helped me through such a hard time” Lila continued to talk as Marinette zoned out. She was the bad guy? No- no that couldn’t be, that was just a harmless crush, that was just what normal teenaged girls did.
But- if it was. Then why didn’t anyone tell her it was wrong, she didn’t mean for it to be wrong. She just didn’t want them to leave, she just didn’t want to be abandoned again.
Why didn’t they say? Why didn’t she realise?
Why did she know?
Lila must’ve seen the shock as she giggled, not at all innocent.
“It was so easy manipulating all of them into telling me about this ‘crush’, once they realised just how crazy it actually was, they had no problem seeing you for the crazy stalker you are.” Lila flicked her hair up away, only for it to come back, but it didn’t matter, she made her point.
Not having the energy to look up, she would’ve noticed Lila had left her behind, laughing too, because no one had been there to overhear their absolutely private conversation. Her overall plan would not be undiscovered today, tomorrow, or the next. It wouldn’t be discovered ever.
Because she was in control.
Marinette, wasn’t in control.
Just like before, that hollow feeling from before, it was back.
And so much worse.
.
She hated Lila, because she made her realise, she was right. All along. And she just had to accept it.
And gave up trying.
She reverted back to how she was at the beginning of the year.
The quiet girl that no one paid attention to, alone, in the back, with nothing but her sketchbook.
Gone were the childish pigtails, it was for the better, no one said anything about then anymore.
Because she realised.
She wasn’t a child anymore.
She couldn’t be, not after this.
***
Hey, so I guess this was more like another prologue, so I’ll have to apologise if it seems just like the other one, but the premise is still the same so yeah.
And I think I might like the idea of a non-Miraculous world; it seems interesting since I feel like Marinette wouldn’t have as much of a confidence boost since she wouldn’t be Ladybug, please tell me that would make sense.
I think it’s interesting for how much would change and stay the same, and my OC will be making an entrance next time, however, here they are all like 13-14. The next chapter will have a time skip of 3 years, oh and Lila came in late, like around Season 3 late ok? So they already know about Kagami and Luka.
Also if you’re confused about anything feel free to ask any questions.
Cya next time.
Tumblr media
Note: Please tell me if I should add anything else to the card, there will be one of these cards for all 15 chapters, however, because I have uni work all updates will be slower because I really need to focus on the uni stuff, then I might be able to upload quicker.

NOT CATRA/C*TRADORA OR LONNIE FRIENDLY!
--
They… haven’t gotten back for a while now.
Kyle admits he’s been worried for his two friends, Adora and Catra. They were all playing together really, but then a scream alarmed everyone. When he realized, Lonnie had a black eye, Catra ran away and Adora went after her. Lonnie’s been angry this whole time, so Kyle would rather stay on his lane until everyone’s apologized and calmed down.
If anything, it’s all Kyle can do here. He can’t go out there and help his friends. He’s not wanted anywhere, but it’s not like he wants to be completely alone in the Horde. It’s not really worth it.
Kyle is sat in the endless greens, while Lonnie rants about Catra and everyone else comments on her behavior. Kyle is not really sure how he feels about the feline. Catra is… scary. She’s pretty close to Adora, but otherwise she never gets close to anyone and she messes with him a lot. Even so, Kyle is concerned about her, because she doesn’t lash out like this out of nowhere. He hopes that she and Adora come back okay.
Fifteen minutes become thirty, and that’s when Kyle hears someone coming.
The boy almost greets Adora and Catra back, except Catra isn’t with her, and Adora is…
Kyle gasps and rushes to her.
“Adora, are you okay?” He asks.
She doesn’t reply. Adora looks like she’s been crying for a whole lot of minutes, since her eyes are red and puffy. The girl looks like she’s about to cry again at the question.
“Adora, where’s—” Lonnie approaches them, stopping when she takes a look at the blond girl. As a result, Lonnie becomes a lot angrier, “Seriously?! Catra is the worst! She even scratched Adora!” She tells her other friends.
“D-Don’t say that,” Adora speaks up but very quietly. She’s never looked so sad before.
“Am I wrong, though?! She hit me out of nowhere and she hurt you, too! This is wrong!” Lonnie insists, irritated.
“S-She didn’t mean to, Lonnie—”
“Why do you keep defending her, Adora?! She’s always been like this! She doesn’t like us!”
“Shut up!” Adora yells back, her voice wavering with tears.
Despite her pleads, Lonnie only argues more. Kyle watches, in conflict. He understands how angry Lonnie must be – her black eye is enough of a reason, Kyle gets it, but…
He avoids standing up to Lonnie or Catra or anyone else – because he’s wimpy and lame, and a crybaby – but this isn’t fair to Adora. Lonnie is only making everything worse.
“S-Stop it, Lonnie!” Kyle stands between the girls – his adrenaline immediately going away when Lonnie glares at him.
“Who asked you, Kyle?” Lonnie pushes him aside, Kyle pathetically falling back.
“Leave him alone!” Adora steps at her. “At least he’s not yelling at me!”
Kyle looks up, afraid they might get in a fight, but the brown-haired girl leaves them be.
“Alright, fine, you crybaby. But don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Lonnie hisses.
Kyle flinches when someone touches him, though it turns out to be Adora. Lonnie has walked away.
“Are you hurt?” Adora checks over him as she helps him get on his feet.
“I-I’m okay. But…” Kyle gulps at the claw marks scratching her face. “I’m sure that hurts a lot more.”
Adora looks away, covering the wound with her hand. She vaguely glances at the other cadets and so she pulls Kyle with her to the same corner he was before; the unnoticed, unbothered safe place to him. It’s… weird having someone else with him.
“I know Catra has a really hard time getting close to people… but I don’t know what went wrong this time,” Adora admits in a low voice. Kyle is a little surprised she’s talking to him at all, but he lets her. “Maybe I did something wrong?”
“What? You didn’t do anything.”
“B-But I’m supposed to look after her. She got mad at me and h-hurt me in the face,” Adora hiccups, fresh tears dropping. “I just wanted her to apologize and be okay with everyone. I know she didn’t mean to hurt Lonnie.”
Kyle hums, unsure what to answer.
“Maybe I should’ve said something else… or stayed with her…” Adora mumbles to herself, trying desperately to dry her own tears. “I-I’m the worst friend ever.”
“I think you’re a pretty good friend, Adora,” Kyle reassures her, “I know you did your best.”
Adora looks up confused. “Y-You think so?”
“Mm-hmm.” Kyle scoots a little closer to her. “Maybe Catra just needs some time to cool off, y’know? You could try to talk to her later… or maybe she’ll come back here by herself. We could wait and see.”
Adora sniffs, considering the suggestion.
“That’s not a bad idea…” she mutters. “Maybe she’ll be ready to talk on her own time.”
Kyle nods. “Yeah, she must be really mad… I don’t know what for, but we’ll figure it out.”
“Okay. Yeah, you’re right.” Adora sighs.
Kyle watches as she finishes drying her tears. He doesn’t really know how to comfort people because he’s never done so, but he stays somewhat close to her if she needs him.
“Th… Thanks, Kyle,” Adora whispers, giving him a small smile.
Kyle’s face flushes. “Oh, ah… you’re welcome." He grins shyly, "That’s what friends are for, right?”
“Yeah…” Adora’s little grin fades.
He frowns in worry and is about to apologize when she brings up something.
“How did you get those?” Adora points at the bandages hiding his arms.
“Oh…” Kyle gulps. “We were playing a little too hard today. I was, y’know, being me,” he laughs awkwardly.
Adora doesn’t laugh with him and instead asks quietly, “Who did it?”
Kyle opens his mouth but decides to be silent. Regardless, he timidly points at the other cadets from afar. One person specifically. Adora seems to catch his sign.
“It’s okay, though. It’s usually… worse,” Kyle clears his throat.
Adora seems defeated, as if she’s fought three training robots in five minutes. Kyle didn’t really expect her to be that concerned about him, but he decides not to say it.
She inspects the bandages, and eventually her hand touches the claw marks again. Adora doesn’t cry again.
Kyle says nothing either and so they’re really silent. The other kids’ talking is nothing more than incoherent mumbles. It never makes sense to him, and he doesn’t think he’ll ever learn to understand.
They’re both looking at Lonnie and the rest, then they’re staring at their own laps, inside their little, lonely corner.
“Maybe…” Adora is hiding her wound again. “Maybe they didn’t mean it?”
She doesn’t specify who ‘they’ are, and Kyle neither agrees nor disagrees. He shrugs and gazes away to the side. “It still hurts,” he whispers painfully.
After that, they don’t talk about anything else.
--
Adora actually sticks by Kyle’s side until it’s dinner time. Maybe she’s not too comfortable around everyone else.
The girl barely eats her ration bars – she’s gotten Catra’s too –, even though the gray ones are her favorite if memory serves him correct. Kyle eats quietly from the other side of the circle, where sits Rogelio, Lonnie and the other cadets he doesn’t really know. At this point Lonnie is laughing along with them. Everyone acts like nothing happened.
Eventually, Adora stands up and leaves the bars aside. Kyle follows her (but hopes that isn’t uncalled for).
“Where are you going?” He wonders when they’re alone.
“I’ll go after Catra.” Adora doesn’t turn around. She sounds… tired but worried. “It’s not fair for her to lose dinner.”
“Right.”
“I should be going.”
“W-Wait, I could- I could go with you!”
Once Adora actually looks back, he regrets the words that came out.
“I-I mean…” Kyle clears his throat. “I just thought… you might need help? N-Not that you can’t do stuff alone, that’s not what I… uh…”
While he’s ready to be ignored or maybe scoffed at (seriously, Kyle? How pathetic can you be? he hears Lonnie say), Adora actually smiles at him.
“Thanks, Kyle,” Adora whispers, “but I’ll be okay. You can go eat with the others.”
(Kyle wants to say the opposite. That he wants to go with her. That he wants to share that little corner with her, because no one has ever wanted to go there with him. He wants to go with her and make sure she has that little corner for her, too. Even though he’s probably going to be easily knocked out by everyone and everything, it yells more than his fears for the first time in his life.)
“Okay,” he replies. “I’ll see you later.”
“Later.”
Adora finally leaves.
Kyle watches her go.
He sighs and returns to the common room.
Adora doesn’t come back.
--
Everything is back to normal then.
Adora and Catra are playing together again. The claw marks aren’t gone, though. There are other times they fight, but Kyle doesn’t see them around anymore.
Lonnie still mocks him often. Other cadets have joined her. Even Rogelio agrees with them at times.
It stays that way until one day. A pretty low day. There’s no one at the common room this time. Kyle was kicked out of the training for ruining everything, and Lonnie pushed him too hard. He's dried his eyes out of tears at this point.
The room is dark and empty, abandoned bars dirtying the floor. Kyle is hungry but his food was pretty much stolen when he tried to find it.
It’s one of the really bad days.
Kyle spends the rest of the day there. He plans to stay hidden until the night. He doesn’t want to face anyone else today.
That’s when the door opens, and Kyle hides deeper in his arms and knees. He’s really not up to have Lonnie make fun of him for another ten minutes again. But there’s no laughter, no multiple, fierce steps, no teasing…
Nothing, but quiet steps and breaths.
He awaits but there’s nothing. He doesn’t really dare look up. Not until whoever is there plops down beside him.
Then there’s crying.
The room is barely illuminated, if not for the light from outside, but Kyle notices the red scratches staining shaky arms and ripped clothes.
Kyle scoots close until the bodies are touching, and Adora cries harder as her energy falls against him. Her sobs echo in the empty room, the lonely corner only they know.
Kyle doesn't cry again, no energy left. But he stays for Adora.

Anguish of the Quirkless
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Relationships: Midoriya Izuku/Todoroki Shoto (could be platonic... though I ship them a lot lmao)
Characters: Midoriya Izuku, Todoroki Shoto; MENTIONED - Bakugo Katsuki
Summary: Izuku doesn’t explode.
But burn after burn, he can’t take it anymore.
AO3 / Fanfiction
A/N: I had no reason to write this other than the fact I’ve been really angry and I needed to write something down.
I guess this is technically my first Tododeku fic? But like, it isn’t the focus here, so interpret it the way you want (if you can). I hope this didn’t turn out to be too OOC, though.
Please be aware of the tags and disclaimers below. Be safe. <3
TRIGGER WARNINGS - childhood trauma, past bullying/abuse and injury
*NOT BAKUGO/BAKUDEKU FRIENDLY!
--
Izuku doesn’t explode.
If anything, he’s more than scared of explosions. The explosions that silence him, that burn his tongue and his arms and legs, and the notebook of his fanboyish train of thought. The blasts that keep happening no matter how far away he is.
So no, he doesn’t explode. He probably can’t.
--
Though every time he stares at the blond spikes of his classmate, Izuku is sickened by a cocktail of years of combustions.
Maybe he does admire the beauty of the explosions when far away. Depending on them, they can actually be quite beautiful when done for the greater good. But when he’s so near, to try to reach them, Izuku gets injured. It’s probably his fault to begin with.
But even with patience and care, Izuku is always exploded back to where he’s been stuck in since he was four.
Izuku is always behind Katsuki. He can’t go around him and walk away. He can’t push him aside, he can’t as much as talk to him. Katsuki will forever be a wall, a minefield that will remain activated until the end of time.
And most importantly, Izuku can never explode back.
He hates explosions, after all.
--
The flaming blend of feelings, however, reach his mind at times he should be feeling okay.
The image of himself exploding Katsuki, of yelling at him, beating the crap out of him sickens the young hero to no end.
But it replays in his head still, even when they’re not fighting and instead having fun with their other classmates. Izuku stares at Katsuki for mere seconds and the thoughts come to him. The freckled boy swallows it all back, until it comes to haunt him at night. Until the burns sting his arms and his heart.
Izuku has tense nights, yet he never explodes. Ever.
--
You’d think Izuku would be happy here. He is happy, though, to be where he’s dreamed of for so long.
But each day that passes, he seems to get worse, he’s sick and tired and angry, and the combustions are closer to his heart. The fantasies become more violent, they’re disturbing. Izuku stains his hands, massacring the remaining of blond hair and hateful red eyes.
Izuku could never take blood from someone. It’s awful – he’s being awful. What would others think? What would everyone else think? All Might, his mother, his friends?
Izuku knows he can cry, but what about the rage? What about the ticking bomb inside him? The bomb that might be close to destroying all around him?
He can’t let anyone see.
Least of all Katsuki.
--
Thankfully, U.A. owns several gymnasiums for the students to train. Few, though, are somewhat left aside due to the new ones, but they don’t really close them. His classmates don’t seem to use them either, as far as he’s concerned.
Izuku finds the classic training tools, including several, big punching bags – different from those you see in common gyms, obviously. They’re able to take up a lot more damage, useful for physical-focused quirks.
He prepares and attacks. Holding it back, Izuku knows to be careful, to protect others. He hates explosions. He hates hurting others.
(All everyone has ever done was hurt him. Why? He was powerless. Quirkless. Deku.)
(That’s why he reclaimed the name, to transform it into someone who could be trusted, someone who could never hurt.)
Izuku kicks, dodges, as if in a real fight. He gives the bag mercy. Probably unnecessary.
(No one gave him mercy.)
(Midoriya Izuku, a boy who could never do wrong, who did nothing but exist.)
(He was exploded like no one ever was.)
The boy’s hands shine red with One for All, as do his eyes. The punching bag absorbs the power, becoming harder to punch and overcome. Izuku continues to spare it, to no avail.
(No matter what he does, he’ll continue to be blasted on the face.)
(Whether he’s powerless or not. The explosions will punish him until he’s gone.)
It’s then that the bag’s energy turns against him and blows him away, Izuku falling back and failing, once again.
It’s all too familiar.
Izuku roars.
He advances with his all, at the same speed as Gran Torino’s, but with a rage unknown to others. A rage from no hero. Heroes don’t feel hate, only towards evil – yet never, never to this extent. With revenge comes nothing. No hero should be selfish.
(This doesn’t come from a hero. It comes from… a boy? A monster?)
And Izuku is attacking the bag with no barriers holding him back. The second time it attacks, Izuku doesn’t let himself fall again. He returns at full speed and destroys the bag. He’s yelling this entire time, his throat hurting yet he’s far from quitting.
“WHY?!” Izuku demands from the bag. “WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME?!”
As always, he gets no answer, only blows and ignorance. And he’s punching it again.
The red of the bag infuriates him, it’s all he sees, and he wants to eradicate.
All those years, all that time never fighting back, never looking for solutions after years of rejections; they all come back to stab him again.
You’re useless.
Pathetic.
You need to deal with it.
“You RUINED MY LIFE!” Izuku screams, eyes shut but red, dams overflowing. “AND YOU DON’T EVEN CARE!”
Despite his cries and punches, they’re not moving, they’re not listening. When have they ever? When?
“I HATE YOU!” Izuku yells, his most disliked words. He’d never say to anyone.
“I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!”
“I
HATE
YOU!!! ”
 CRASH!
He yelps at the force thrown back at him. Smoke enters his nose, painful coughs echoing.
When Izuku looks back, he gasps without making a sound.
He didn’t destroy just one bag – it fired back and damaged the other ones, now abandoned on the floor.
And even then—
Izuku growls and punches the floor, this time without any power left.
He’s still burning.
It doesn’t matter. It never matters.
Now everything smokes and suffocates him, and he’s crying the most he’s ever did.
That’s why he hates explosions.
--
Izuku doesn’t go to Recovery Girl, nor does he tell anyone. He hopes Aizawa-sensei never finds out what he’d done. He looked for cameras and, thankfully, found none.
He lies to his friends he trained in the woods and got a little ahead of himself. As a response, Uraraka tells him to be careful and Iida insists Quirk training should be balanced for him, as a hero in training. Two important statements, of course.
Todoroki, however, observes.
It’s the most he does. Todoroki watches and sees all, barely saying much. He reads people like no one else does. He was the first to realize something would go wrong with Iida, when the latter had wanted to seek his brother’s almost assassin.
This is different, though. So much different.
Izuku ignores it the best he can.
--
Late at night, he can’t sleep. The green-eyed boy sneaks in the kitchen, to grab some tea to make. His classmates seem to have healthy sleep schedules, especially when exams are out of the scene.
So slow steps take him off guard, and Izuku hides his arms under his sleeves.
“Midoriya.”
He sighs deeply. “Oh, Todoroki-kun… it’s just you. What’s up?”
Todoroki shrugs. “Couldn’t sleep.”
“Oh. Me neither.”
“Hm.”
Todoroki is doing it again, he can tell. Watching him. (Judging.)
Izuku hates being watched – he’s watched the entire time.
The tea doesn’t take much longer to be ready, so Izuku barely bats an eye to Todoroki and makes his way to the stairs.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he mumbles.
“Wait, Midoriya—”
“What ?”
Izuku regrets the moment he hisses, but he’s so tired.
“Just…” his classmate hesitates. “Take care of yourself, okay?”
Todoroki’s tone has… softened.
Izuku doesn’t turn around.
“… Good night, Todoroki-kun.”
--
The days go by like usual. It’s like nothing happened. No one has found out, or so he hopes.
Todoroki hasn’t talked to him since that night. Or well, Izuku tries to avoid looking at him for too long in the first place. They have lunch together with the rest, but there’s no direct contact at all.
Todoroki isn’t the kind of person you can make excuses. He reads into your tone, he knows something is wrong. While Izuku’s relationship with him has definitely improved since the Sports Festival and Stain, he still finds that aspect of him a little intimidating. Because Todoroki, in contrast, is hard to read most of the time.
Izuku might as well be avoiding him. Of course, he’s polite when Todoroki has a question or when he asks for a favor. Though he rejects the suggestion they train together in the next day. Mostly, because Izuku’s wounds still sting, and he refuses to go to the infirmary.
At last, Izuku finds himself going to the old gymnasium, with no intention to seethe like before, even if the urge screams in his brain. It looks… the same, on the outside. As for the inside…
Instead of the gray smoke and destroyed reds, Izuku stops as soon as he catches white strands connected to wine, fire red. A fire that doesn’t explode, but fire, nonetheless.
Izuku’s veins fill with One for All, and before he goes Full Cowling to get as far away as possible, he’s less than lucky to expose himself.
“Midoriya?”
Nononononono—
Even though Todoroki isn’t using his Quirk, Izuku feels like he’s frozen by his giant ice spikes, caught to explain himself.
Why on earth is Todoroki here? Does he also know this spot? Oh, of course. Todoroki often trains alone but Izuku never knew where. Oh my god.
There are no words shared or spoken, least of all whispered. Izuku can’t bring himself to look up. There’s only shame to be shared. No one was supposed to find out and yet he just revealed himself. Stupid. Idiot!
A step.
“Midoriya…”
Izuku shakes his head.
“I know what you’re going to say.”
Todoroki stops. “What?”
“… that I’m supposed to be a hero, right? That I shouldn’t have done this? I- I know I shouldn’t have.” Izuku clenches his jaw and his fists, to contain the trembling rage. “I shouldn’t be angry.”
The fallen punching bags stare.
“But I didn’t know what to do with this anger. It only kept growing and- and it keeps growing inside of me, these thoughts, this scream in my throat,” Izuku spits out without much thought. “I’ve been hurt my entire life and I hate- I hate hurting people back, I hate wanting to hurt them, but I hate them, too, I hate-!” For a moment, he bites back the poisonous name, yet he can’t take it anymore, he’s tired of being silenced by the explosions.
“… I hate Kacchan. I hate that he always explodes me in the face, I hate that he used to go after other kids, too. He always explodes and hurts people, and he doesn’t give a shit.” Izuku’s tone is wet, soaked with weight. “He doesn’t give a shit about me, he still hurts me no matter what I do, and I’m sick of it. And god, all I want is to punch his fucking face and scream, because he never cared about making me cry or burning me at all, he- he doesn’t care! And I don’t know why I still do, why I even try to communicate with him! Nothing I do is enough for him!”
Izuku observes the multiple layers of old wood under his feet, each second finding new details, new splinters.
“This is why I don’t explode. Why I never burst out. I-I don’t want to hurt anyone… but I’m still so angry, Todoroki-kun. I’m only feeling worse than before.” The freckled teen pathetically dries his drowned face. “It’s like nothing is ever going to get better.”
The temperature is a bitter cold, despite the sun outside.
Izuku cries like that boy he’d known in Middle School, the one that would weep to himself in the shadows after getting burned on the face.
“W-What should I do?” He asks to no one.
It’s, again, a question without an answer.
Except…
His arms are taken by two hands that slowly pull up his sleeves, revealing the wounds from the hazard. The hands brush against his blistered skin as gently as possible. One hot, the other cold, but equally mindful.
“I think…” Todoroki whispers, “you need someone.”
Izuku’s face is close to the piercing gray and blue eyes, the ones who always read him… but not in judgment, he realizes. They read each sentence, each word of himself and take it to their heart, hopefully to come up with a meaningful response.
“Because then… who will protect you from the explosion?” Todoroki questions, his right hand reaching Izuku’s left.
The question is one he’s never considered. Izuku makes sure no one gets hurt, and maybe he’s successful at that, yet…
Todoroki’s face is close enough for their heads to touch, some of his red and white bangs touching Izuku’s forehead.
“It’s okay to be angry, Midoriya.”
“You’re… not mad at me?”
“Why would I be?”
“I don’t know,” Izuku gulps, “I feel… disgusting.”
“I understand. But you’re not disgusting. You were hurt.”
Izuku’s mouth quivers. “I don’t want to hurt anymore.”
Todoroki’s hands move from his arms to his shoulders, pulling him forward. Izuku shivers.
He’s…
Todoroki has never hugged him before.
Sure, they’ve gotten so far as friends. But after all this time, they’ve never touched each other; least of all Todoroki, who is, reasonably, a more reserved person.
The hug is far from awkward, nonetheless. It’s… good. Izuku has never been hugged like this. Even with the crime scene of his anger right there for Todoroki and everyone else to see… the red-and-white-haired boy chooses to hold him.
(After all, he’s also a boy. A boy afraid of his thoughts. Afraid while no one knows.)
Izuku returns the contact, his face somewhat under Todoroki’s chin.
“I’m sorry Bakugo is a piece of shit.” He adds quietly, “Well, more than he already is.”
That manages to attract a miserable laugh.
“It’s okay.”
“It’s not.”
Izuku hums, not up to protest as he melts in his touch. He could never have imagined Todoroki to be this… comfortable.
The permanent smell of smoke and dust does eventually bother him, so Izuku suggests, “Want to get out of here?”
“Sure.”
And they leave the gymnasium behind, hopefully their secret will be left alone.
Todoroki takes Izuku to a tree, the leaves green like the latter’s hair. There’s enough of a shadow to cover them from the sun, from the burning flames far away. Todoroki helps a little with the burns, his ice the most soothing Izuku has felt.
Until the sun sets, their hands are intertwined, scars only they know.

Rumors don’t matter
Pairing: Hitoshi Shinsou x F!reader(I guess)
Summary: You like Hitoshi, despite all the rumours you came across. You are loud, extroverted, a bundle of energy, the complete opposite of him. Well, opposites attract, they say.
Warning: Fluff, past bullying
Notes: This is the first fic of my Song-fic series! If you cannot tell already, I love Shinsou with all of my heart. He deserves more love and attention! Sorry if this is OOC
Song: Rumors By Ava Max
“I hear rumors, rumors, but I running into your room.”
Tumblr media
Ever since his quirk manifested, pretty much everyone around Hitoshi view him as an outsider of sorts. Not unexpected, but it still stings Hitoshi in the beginning. He can still recall clearly how he was isolated. It is not like he does not enjoy human company; it is just not available to him. Instead, he had lots of cats growing up. They are his friends.
People from school would call him names, such as “freak” or “weirdo”, but the one that left the deepest cuts on him, is “villain”. His quirk, brainwashing, can indeed be used sinisterly. But so can so many other quirks, Hitoshi did not understand why back then.
So he stopped trying, and got comfortable with his own company or animals, never expecting friends. After all, it is better to be alone then being insulted by your “friends”.
His mother, who possesses a similar ability, told Hitoshi to not care for those narrow-minded jerks. She understands how difficult it is to socialize with a “villainous” quirk, so she comforts her son the best she can. Hitoshi appreciates it, as she is the only one who knows what he is going through.
Even in UA, Hitoshi did not expect to have any friends either. General studies is not most popular course, unlike the hero classes. His classmates still view him as an outsider, but he is used to this by now.
But you, you who broke through the glass wall he built to shut people out (before they shut him out)
Even being in the hero course, you are nothing like those egotistic maniacs.(Bakugou)
It all started in the cafeteria, when he sat down alone in his usual corner, Hitoshi heard an unfamiliar voice asking. “Hi, can I sit please here?”
He looks up to your smiling face. Polite tone, sweet smile, and warm attitude. There are no hints of mockery in your voice, he does not see the harm to fulfill your request. Though, he is surprised why you would want to sit with him, of all places you can be. He knows you, a capable hero student, one of the strongest in your class. Obviously, you have friends, so why him all of the suddenly. He nods, and you thanked him as you sit down beside him.
“Sorry to bother you, but I had to come in late because of a medical appointment. It is not even my proper lunch break right now. Is the cafeteria always this full at this time? I am (f/n) (l/n) by the way. You are Hitoshi Shinsou, right? Nice to meet you.”
She…knows my name? That alone left him speechless. He did not think he left enough impression. “You know my name?” “Of course. Why wouldn’t I?” You dug into your food, not giving the question more thought.
This is the first positive interaction Hitoshi had with people outside of his family in years. From a girl, nevertheless. Is this, what friendship feels like?
He would stare at you, observing your every feature, until you look up and say: “Do I have rice on my cheeks? Or a lettuce in my teeth? Earth to Hitoshi?”
Apologizing for his intrusion, he would start eating his own lunch too.
When you finish, you thanked him again for his company. Shinsou might not be talkative like your friends, but it is refreshing to eat in peace.
“You don’t think I am evil? Surely you heard of what people said about me.”
He expects you to walk away never talking to him again, but instead you scoffed.
“Those ridiculous rumors, you say. I pay them no mind; no quirk is purely bad or good. Mine, for example can easily kill hundreds. All quirks can be use for good or evil. How about we take a picture together?”
That escalated quickly, now you are posting it on your social media with his permission, tagging him in the image, and adding him on it. You bid him good day and promise to see him around. Hitoshi would sit there froze in shock until it is time for his classes again. Did she just…be my friend? He is used to negative comments and whispers, such positive interactions are foreign territory for him. It made him feel cared for, though. Not a bad feeling.
From then on he would text you every now and then, commenting on your posts and stories. To you he might just be another friend, but to him you are his light after many years of darkness. You would wave to acknowledge his presence whenever you are in the same room, also defend him whenever rumors concerning him were brought up in conversations.
After he lost to Izuku in the sports festival match, Hitoshi did not expect you find you waiting for him at the exit, holding a bottle of water. Nor did he is expecting you would compliment on his performance. About how amazing he is and never let anyone tell him otherwise.
That is when Hitoshi really felt you care for him, deeply. Like a family member.
You took him out for some soba to cheer him up that night, chatting about how your stupid classmates’ dumb tales. He will be the quiet listener most of the time, honestly. He thought of an analogy of you two: You are the Sun, always burning brightly, full of energy and warmth. He is the polar opposite, the moon, shines quietly and blends well into the night. But they said opposite attract.
When you notice the small smile on his lips, you give him a big one in return.
“Your smile is beautiful! You should smile more often!”
Now that you give him reasons to smile, he promises you he will do it more frequently.

Hi! I'm a newbie at writing fanfiction and I wanted to ask if you have any tips for newbies. I'm sorry if this is bothering you any. Have a good rest of your day and thank you!
Tumblr media
You are not bothering me! I’m honoured you’ve asked me for advice.
As for advice... hmm... I guess the main things I’d say are:
Write what makes you happy. If it’s something you would enjoy reading, there will always be others who agree.
The best fanfics are those that understand the characters. OOC characters can be fun if used for comedic effect, but otherwise figure out two important personality traits and one realistic hobby for each character before you get writing.
Set reasonable word-count goals for each day/week. My personal daily goal is 100 words. It’s not a lot but it’s better than nothing and it’s achievable so I don’t get demotivated. And if you write more than that, then it’s a bonus!
Dialogue is great, but make sure to use more description/action to balance things out.
While you’re still new at this, make sure you read back over what you’ve written once you’re done to find where you can add description or edit errors.
Watch your tenses! I know a lot of people who swap between present and past tense, and it can be really jarring for the readers.
Please don’t axe off or traumatise characters just for the shock factor. It can be super tempting but it needs to be relevant to the plot if you’re going to axe a character everyone loves.
Cliches and tropes are a good thing when it comes to fanfics. People love overused romantic gestures if they get to see it come from their favourite characters from TV shows, etc.
That being said, don’t write a story with the goal of it being popular, e.g. using Bakugou and Todoroki purely because they get high search quantities. If you genuinely love writing for them, then great! But a story will lose its sparkle if you’re not writing what you genuinely have interest in.
I hope this helped a little bit. If you want any advice on specific parts of writing fanfics then feel free to drop me another inbox. I’m always happy to help!
Bonus: MORE IN-DEPTH ADVICE!
Alternate Universe (AU) fics are a great way to create any story you want with the characters you love. If you’re writing in the canon universe, make sure you know your stuff about the show/fandom.
If people try to tell you that your headcanons are wrong, ignore them. Unless you’re writing in the canon universe and it’s a confirmed fact about a character, you can do whatever you like, even if it goes against the most popular headcanon. E.g. people say Bakugou smells like burnt sugar/caramel because of his Quirk. It’s not a confirmed fact, and even if it is, he might still wear whatever cologne he wants so make him smell however you want!
Depending on where you post your fanfics once you’re done, use the tagging features to your advantage! AO3 has the most comprehensive tagging system, so make sure to tag your fics with (relevant) popular tags, as well as some tags more specific to your story (perhaps “pool party” or “amusement park” if that’s where it’s set).
You never have to write what you are uncomfortable writing, even if someone absolutely begs you or bullies you to write it, and this is not limited to N S F W or taboo topics, but literally anything you don’t want to write. If it’s a ship you don’t support, it’s your prerogative to turn it down. Just stay polite and professional and you should be fine.
If someone else’s fanfiction inspires one of your stories, make sure you acknowledge them in an author’s note and let them know personally. It’s respectful, and honestly it can save you a lot of grief down the line.
Always remember you don’t owe anyone anything when it comes to writing. You are free to stop when you like and start when you like, write about who you like and whatever topics you like. You’re putting in time and effort to create free stories for others to read, so make sure they are always done on your terms. 💖💖

“Ashlyn honey, come on, we don’t want to be late ”  her mother, Teressa, yelled out from the bottom of the stairs, laughing softly to herself when she heard the mad rush of footsteps on the wooden floors before seeing her eight year old daughter running towards her with all her might, only to halt army style and stare up at her with wide eyes.  There was not a single soul that could deny the resemblance between the two of them, they shared the striking green eyes and red-brown hair of the Sayer family, both had a boisterous take no shit attitude and the same little quirks and tells when they were upset. Which Teressa could tell was the case with her daughter right this minute.  She reached down and pulled her young daughter into her embrace, balancing her on her hip as she made haste towards their car, “what's wrong baby? What’s got you thinking, hmm?”
Ash looked up at her mum, teary eyed and mumbled, “I don’t want daddy to get mad at me, I didn’t mean to hit that boy, he just said some mean things about daddy and I got really angry”. Little sniffles were becoming more and more prevalent as she continued talking, try as she might the little girl couldn’t fathom why people would speak bad about her family, they were all so nice!. She clumsily climbed down from her mum's arms and hopped up into her car seat, clipping her belt before pulling on it dramatically to prove that she was actually clipped in. Ash then let out a small gleeful laugh when her mum bopped her on the nose before walking around the car to get into the driver's seat to start on their journey to the principal's office to find out the punishment for the young girls justified behaviour.
The journey to the school would take longer than necessary, unexpected road closures with no concrete explanations from the officers monitoring the road blocks had forced Teressa to take the back roads and add an extra forty minutes to their already long commute for a Saturday morning. Travelling along generally unused and quiet roads was somewhat of an unusual experience for Ash, having been used to seeing cars passing by every other minute and looking at houses rather than vast open fields. As they passed round a corner, entering a tree lined road with dense forest on either side of them, an unsettling feeling overcame the young mother, there was a strange darkness that clung to the air, setting off alarm bells within. She remained calm as possible as to not alert Ashlynn that something was wrong, as the young girl was far too perceptive for her age, a trait that she had inherited from her fathers side of the family. She glanced back at her daughter, noticing that she was rather quiet, but let out a small sigh of relief when she noted that she had dozed off, head slumped against the panel of the door and her hair covering her face, snoring away softly to herself. It was in this brief moment of distraction that Teressa failed to notice the truck approaching rapidly from behind, when she did she increased her speed well beyond the speed limit, keeping an eye on a sleeping Ash to make sure she didn’t wake up and begin to start asking questions like the curious little thing always did.
As her speed increased the blacked out vehicle behind them only got faster until it was a mere meter behind their car, seeing no other option she pushed the car to its limits, approaching the upcoming intersection at speeds that should terrify her beyond means, but in this moment she was focusing on only one thing, protecting her innocent daughter in the back seat. As she passed through the intersection a scream forced its way from her throat, just through the intersection sat a parked truck blocking the road. Teressa knew she wouldn’t be able to stop in time so she swerved sharply to the right, hearing the screaming of the tires as they went from smooth asphalt to the gravely uneven surface that bordered the edge of the road. The steering of the car locked up, Teressa tried with all her might to get it moving again but was forced to endure the inevitable pain from the collision that was about to happen, with what may be her final words to her daughter she turned to look at Ash, tears filling her eyes when she took in the terrified expression on the young girls’ face, and whispered “I love you baby girl”
When Ash woke up she was sprawled on the grass a few feet from the car, rain was pouring down putting a darker spin on the event occurring. There were people standing around her, albeit a few feet away and semi-huddled together, and something warm was running into her left eye. Reaching up and feeling a thick, sticky substance she pulled her hand down to get a better look, a terrified scream leaving her small body when she noticed her hand washed red with blood. Her scream drew the attention of the people huddled together but they dismissed her without some much as a disgruntled look, they weren’t there for her. Ash glanced around, frightened and searching for her mum, who she found in a heap a meter or so to the left of her. With great difficulty she managed to crawl over to her mum, gathering her head and shaking her when she wouldn’t wake up.
“Mummy please! I’m sorry, no mummy please! Please wake up mummy, I need you” Tears poured from the eyes of the young bruised girl, mixing in with the blood as she desperately tried to wake her mum up. Her little body was exhausted from the effort, shivering from the cold seeping into her bones from the rain, and the toll of the crash began to take effect, she was becoming drowsy, a sure sign of a concussion. Ash felt a small wave of relief was over her when the eyes of her mothers’ met her own, the tears never halted, dripping off her face and landing on the face of her mother, mixing in with the blood that was covering the once beautiful face of her mum, now marred by sliced and bruised flesh.  Her mum pulled her head towards herself, pressing a short but meaningful kiss to her forehead before her body began to go limp.  “Ashy, darling, hold Mumma close for a little while”  the broken voice of her mother rang clear in her ears.
Ash pulled her mums’ head as close to her little chest as possible, crying out and trying with all her might to keep her mum with her till help could arrive. With one last shuddering breath her mother passed, she was gone, no matter how tightly Ash held her. Looking down and seeing the closed eyes of her mother, she panicked, screaming out for the group of people to try and get their attention or at least their help.  “Please help me, my mummy won’t wake up! I need my mummy, please help me!”
One of the men started towards her, dressed in clothes very similar to that of her father, before coming to a stop before her. He looked over the child thoughtfully, knowing the orders he was given deemed only that the woman be killed and the girl to be delivered to the hospital in a recoverable state, sighing to himself he reached down and hoisted the girl up and made haste towards one of the trucks.
“Put me down! I want my mummy. Don't take me away from her! MUMMY!!!!”  the girl cried and screamed and beat at the man that was carrying her. She didn't understand. Why was the man taking her away from the one good thing in her life.  Ash watched as the other men made their way towards her mum, before picking her up and beginning to chain her to the tree. One of the men pulled out a large knife which had the young girl screaming at the top of her lungs, “Leave my mummy alone! Just leave her alone you bully! Dont touch her!”  the men just laughed at her, mocking her pitiful cries. She was unceremoniously thrown into the backseat of one of the vehicles, effectively cutting off her view of the men outside.
The young man climbed into the driver's seat, this was his first assignment within the force and he was disgusted by the behaviour of the team. His gaze travelled out the side window just in time to watch the team commander behead the young woman they had just killed, his stomach turned even further when the men began taking turns carving something into the body as they chained her up to the tree and left her there for someone to find. With the signal from his commander he started the car and made haste towards the nearest hospital to get the young, tortured girl seen too as fast as possible, her eyes were drooping and she was beyond pale which scared him. He felt for the young girl, having to go through so much at a young age because of the wrongdoings of her father.
                                                      ~present~
Ash would never forget the sounds of the crash, the shattering of the glass or the painful scream that left her mothers’ lips the moment before both their worlds went dark that day. The final words of her mother were painfully etched into her memory, a grim reminder of that fateful day, and in tribute to her fallen parent the words “A little weakness goes a long way” were tattooed above her heart, words she stuck to as much as possible.
**
**
She sucked in a deep breath of air in an attempt to re-center herself with her surroundings and shake off the ghostly shivers of her broken past. She rubbed her hand across her face, wiping away the tears before scoffing out a vacant laugh. “Every damn year, without fail, I get these... these dreams about it ya know?. It’s like I can’t escape my past. I’m constantly thinking ‘what could I have done better, why couldn’t I have been a more grounded child’. If I had just controlled my anger my mum might still be here today”
The broken sob that left the young soldier had the Colonels’ heart clenching in his chest and his hands tightening on the steering wheel, almost uncomfortably so. He knew all too well the effects blaming oneself had on the mind. There were many things he took the blame for or blamed himself for as an inexperienced officer in his younger days, he would not allow the girl beside him to fall into that trap any longer given there was likely a deeply buried explanation to the event, one he would commit to finding. While keeping a close eye on the road ahead he reached over to wrap Ash’s hand tightly beneath one of his own effectively hoping to silence her racing thoughts and give her something more tangible to focus on. She was one of his own now, a team member that needed to be looked after as thoroughly as possible, but also someone that, dare he say it, was slowly becoming more than that.
Ash’s head shot up in surprise when she felt the large warm hand grasp her own, it brought a wave of unexpected comfort to her being, warming her to her core. Turning her attention from the hand over her own to the face of the man beside her she gulped. His shoulders were drawn up tight, hand gripping the wheel so tightly his knuckles were white, his jaw was clenched to the point she could have sworn she heard his teeth grinding. His brow has drawn now and his mouth was drawn into a tight line, he was clearly displeased, no, angered by her past she just confessed, the anger that had settled in his deep brown eyes had a chill racing down her spine, it was a look of cold calculation, one she was sure many of has enemies had seen moments before their death. Gathering a small amount of courage she covered his hand with her other and began rubbing small unconscious circles into the side of his thumb, letting a small relieved breath when she saw some of the tension leave his body.
**
**
A short time had passed and they had reached the hospital; the tension had now left Ash’s body, with the weight of telling Carrillo about some of her destructive past now off her shoulders she felt like the awkwardness of the previous week had been all but forgotten. Her now unwavering trust in the man beside her somewhat frightened her, coupled in with the ever growing feelings she knew she was in far too deep. There was a silent agreement between the two of them that Ash would go to the medics while Carrillo would head to the archives to try and find files that would be useful to the team, they would reconvene at the car within the next two hours.
Upon entering the hospital and being directed to the outpatient clinic Ash was greeted by a very familiar face, “Captain Lisa Ortiz, my god it has been too long”. The smile that graced her face was pure and genuine, seeing a long lost family friend after so long was a relief and a huge shock to the system, but a good one at that. Ash wasn’t even aware that the Captain had returned from deployment, the last time she’d seen the woman was at her graduation parade when Ash had not long turned eighteen. She had grown up down the road from the amazing woman and as it turned out the Captain was now dating her favourite Lieutenant, Lt. Henry O’Connor.
“My god, little Ashy is that you, come over here girl” Captain Ortiz beckoned her over before wrapping her in a bear hug, she used to babysit the kid when she was a young tot, and furthermore after her mother had passed. Ash’s father, more often than not, would drop her on the Ortiz family doorstep and disappear for weeks on end, she had all but raised this girl and was proud that she had followed her dreams and joined the force. “Right, you, we have some catching up to do, head down to the third room on the right and I’ll be there after I’ve found your files”  she had pointed down the corridor signaling the direction she wanted the 2nd Lieutenant to go, a pleased smile gracing her face when she watched the young thing wander off with a new found bounce in her step.
Ash was startled from her thoughts when the Captain entered the room before plonking herself down rather ungracefully into the chair beside her. “I read the report Greys, what the fuck! Have they found who did that to you? That's some messed up shit girl, glad you’re ok though kiddo” She reached over and ruffled Ash’s hair not giving her a moment to answer the questions thrown at her before standing up to grab some gloves and some tools to begin removing the younger officers’ stitches.  “Right up on the bed, shirt off, I’m sure by now you’ll be wanting those stitches out”
Ash only nodded, shaking her head with a brief laugh before pulling her shirt over her head and climbing onto the bed like she was asked, she was far to content to do as she was told given how much she trusted the woman before her, she’d admired her since she was a small child and inspired to be like her even now. Lisa began carefully removing the stitches from her side, poking and prodding here and there to make sure she was most definitely healed like she should be, when one particularly hard poke had Ash wincing, she knew the Captain had found the slightly marred skin from where she had pulled those stitches.
“So...” the Captain began, “I heard a dit Greys. About you, a certain LT. Colonel and then a certain international guest. Care to share?”.
The shiteating grin that was currently taking up Lisa’s face told Ash all she needed to know. The Captain already knew everything about the whole ‘Sinclair situation’ so there really wasn’t much to tell there, but from what she remembered about the slightly older woman, she always got the answers she wanted, Ash really couldn’t hide anything from her if she tried. “Damn it Lisa, just spit it out, what do you wanna know” she said with a jeering tone, she knew forgoing rank with the Captain wouldn’t drop her in the shit, the benefits of knowing someone since you were five years old. It was funny watching Lisa try and find the right words to say, the furrowing of her brow and the opening and closing of her mouth like a fish out of water nearly had Ash in tears, it was quite the sight.
**
**
“From what I’ve heard the LT. Colonel was a bit of an asshole to you, kid. But I also remember a certain eighteen year old having it bad for him when she attended my graduation parade. I wonder who that could be...” Lisa trailed off with a chuckle. She was sure that by now Ash had all but forgotten about her nagging antics involving the man she no doubt despised nowadays, but it was still a moment of great amusement for the Captain. “Little eighteen year old you just wouldn’t shut up about him. Sinclair this, Sinclair that, honestly kid I'm surprised you never tried to jump that dick near the end of training”  Ortiz paused for a moment, considering something before having a light bulb moment, “Unless it's because of a certain Columbian hunk I’ve heard so much about from some of the medics in your intake...”  She knew she’d hit the jackpot when Ash blushed beet-red from her hairline to her neck. “Awww, does little Ashy have a crush on the big bad Colonel?”
Ash didn’t know what to say, she had honestly forgotten about how she had crushed on the LT. Colonel before she really even knew him, embarrassingly enough her reactions towards him kind of made sense now. She was going to attempt to deny her ever mounting crush on the Colonel she now lived and worked with but given the reaction Lisa had given, she knew she’d been caught out.  “Even after all these years you’re still a gossiping teen” Ash choked out with a laugh, shaking her head with a big smile on her face, “And pffft no, I do not have a crush on anyone. Thank you very much”. Even to her own ears the lie was so evident in her voice, there was definitely no denying she did have a crush on the aforementioned man, but that was despite the point.
“OH yeah, for sure. Definitely. You sound so sure about that Greys. Come on now, between friends, what's it like living with that god of a man? I’ve only seen some pictures but holy damn girl, if you don’t ride that dick that I’m going to get you sent to the block, because denying that man that would be a crime!” The pure childlike glee that passed through the Captains body at witnessing the utter shock of her words became clear to Ash and had her curling over in laughter. Never in her life has she seen someone look so offended yet also curious at the idea.
“Hey put it this way, if that man is cuffing me. I’ll happily go right to horny jail” Ash huffed out between laughs, god it was good to be around someone who thought like her and wasn’t afraid of talking shit at work, it was gold. It felt good to genuinely laugh with someone she knew and cherished, it had been far too long.
“Anyway Greys, better get you all wrapped up and sent on your way back to your mans before he gets grumpy and you get told off. Although secretly I’m sure you’d just love that” She walked over to the desk and gathered up some papers that she needed Ash to give to her new Commanding Officer before writing out some prescriptions for more painkillers and nausea meds that she knew would come in handy in the future.  “I need you to give these papers to the Colonel for me” she pointed to the stack tucked into an envelope, “And these ones are for you little lady. Please do keep me posted about that handsome hunk you live with. And don’t let Henry annoy you too much when he gets to the house, I’m sure you’ll have your hands full though. Good luck Greys!”  and with one final tight hug she let the young officer go. Watching her plod down the hallway with a dopey smile on her face. Before she could forget she flicked her partner a text:
To: Future Hubbster
~ baby it seems you’ll have the perfect opportunity to have some fun in your new posting. Our little Ashy-bear has a crush on the Colonel, you HAVE to get them together somehow, we need our girl to be happy.
It was barely a minute later that her phone chimed, reading the message she had to shake her head with a laugh.
From: Future Hubbster
~ God I love you. Permission to make a certain Colonel jealous by any means necessary?
She quickly typed out a reply before hitting send and making her way back to the nurses desk to grab the papers for her next patient. She was sure that whatever her partner would do that it would for sure stir up some shit in the team, one of the many reasons she loved that troublemaker.
To: Future Hubbster
~permission granted, boy scout. Just don’t weird out our little Ashy or get kicked off the team. See you tonight baby xx
                                                  ----------
From that day onwards the energy in the house was no longer awkward. Carrillo and Ash had fallen back into a rhythm of eating meals together and just genuinely enjoying each other's company in the moments when they could relax.  Every Night at around twenty hundred hours they’d both find their way into the living room, generally Ash with a book and Carrillo with some kind of file that could potentially be helpful for their missions, reading quietly in comfortable silence had brought a sense of peace to the both of them. With the events from earlier in the week pushed to the side, but definitely not forgotten by either of them, they were back to being a well gelled team, a small team nonetheless but it worked well for them.
Ash had not so subtly started doting on the man. She’d bring him coffee’s to the office during the day because he barely left the room when he got stuck in a rut reading paper after paper, her heart always warmed that extra little bit when he’d happily accept the cup and give her a small grateful smile, she always left the room with a blush on her cheeks and an added skip in her step. Sunday rolled round and Carrillo had seemingly disappeared from the house, and with him nowhere to be found Ash took it upon herself to finally go for a run.
The property definitely seemed larger now she was running around the outside of it, she was becoming exhausted much faster than she would have liked and her side was rather sore from the effort. It was on her third lap of the property, the lap she had named ‘struggle street’ that she heard the sound of an approaching vehicle. Gapping it towards the house in an attempt to act like she hadn’t just been breaking the rules she made it just in time, rushing round her room and heading to the shower as fast as possible. The both of them had obviously learnt one thing from their moment in the living room nearly a week ago, always take your clothes into the bathroom and come out fully dressed, definitely a less awkward situation. Upon leaving the bathroom, fully clothed, she noticed a fresh set of groceries on the bench, it now made sense as to where the Colonel had disappeared to.
Ash started out putting everything away neatly and into the designated spots, putting her favourite foods into easy to reach spots because while she was average height, some of the cupboards were just that little bit too tall for her to reach up into.  Once everything was put away she beelined for the couch and flicked on a random movie on tv, not intending to do much more than nap due to being beyond tired from her run, the dull ache of her muscles was a welcome feeling. Ash skipped dinner that night, still feeling far too tired from her exercise and instead chose to retire to bed early, but not before delivering a fresh cup of coffee to a very busy Carrillo.
Ash was starving when she woke up the next morning, stomach was growling and her body ached more than it had in a very long while, the good kind of overworked ache. Climbing rather ungracefully from her bed and into the kitchen, forgetting to put shorts on under the t-shirt she wore while in a tired state. Growing bored while waiting for the pot of coffee to finish she dug into the cupboard to grab a bowl and spoon in preparation for breakfast, wandering over to the fridge to get the milk before returning to her previous place, just in time for the coffee to be ready. Pouring the cup and taking a quick sip she felt herself begin to wake up, she definitely functioned better after the first cup of coffee in the morning, placing the cup down she reached up to the cupboard she usually kept her cereal in to make herself a bowl, only to find it wasn’t where she had put it yesterday upon unpacking the groceries. Huffing to herself in frustration she began checking the other cupboards, each one she opened came up empty, the frustration growing more and more when all the ones in her line of sight and reach didn’t contain her beloved Creamy Oats. It was then that it occurred to her there was one cupboard left to check, the highest up one that Carrillo usually kept any of his favourite stuff in, reaching up on tippy toes and flicking one of the doors open and she struck gold. From her placement she could see the logo of her cereal staring back at her, now she just had to reach it. Somehow.
Caught up in trying to reach her cereal she failed to notice the Colonel leaning against his bedroom door watching silently from afar. He’d woken to the sound of the kitchen being ransacked only to laugh at what he was seeing. His plan it seemed, had worked, from his vantage point he was granted with quite the sight, long muscled legs, and a well toned ass were revealed as Ash tried to stretch as much as she could onto her tiptoes to reach the box of cereal he had deliberately placed at the back of ‘his’ cupboard. Smirking away to himself he slowly padded over to the kitchen, taking special care to dare not make a sound to alert her of his presence.
Ash jumped when she felt a hand land softly on her side, her body tensed before relaxing all too quickly when she felt the penetrating heat of the man behind her. He reached up over her head, muscles bunching and pressed tightly against her effectively caging her in, grasped the box of cereal she was desperately trying to reach and reached down and placed it in front of her. She expected him to move away instantly but instead he stood there trapping her between the hard wood of the bench and the increasingly harder wood poking her in the lower back. One arm was still gripping her side, the other wrapped around her front with his hand played out on the bench, desperately close to where she needed it most.
Testing the resolve of the officer behind her might not have been her brightest idea but she craved any kind of interaction or touch she could gain from this man. Ash pushed back on him, letting out a small pliant sound of need when she felt him twitch against the curve of her ass, the resulting groan she received from him had her buckling at the knees. His head moved down, mouth hovering against the shell of her ear, she could feel the harsh uneven breaths and when she ground down on him again, harder this time, she was rewarded with yet another deep  moan, one that sent a delighted shiver down her spine. She made a move to repeat the action but the hand on her side clamped down impossibly tight, efficiently halting her movements, the last thing she expected was for him to speak.
“Do that again, and you’ll find out how little control I really have” His voice was a mere whisper but it had the desired effect.
Ash froze, processing the words. The sleepy lust filled drawl sent a punch of arousal straight to her core and a moan escaping her throat. She was almost tempted to see how far she could push him, but settled for subtly maneuvering herself to grab for her coffee and bring it closer, her throat was impossibly dry now and he was not helping the situation.
The subtle movement brushed so lightly against him that in any other state it may have been  imperceptible but in this highly aroused state it made him want to return the favour. He leaned down slowly, gauging her reaction, before gently and fleetingly brushing his lips behind her ear, smirking softly against her skin when she tilted her head slightly to accommodate him, mouth agape. Never one to turn down an advantage he slowly moved his right hand towards her coffee cup, distracting her further by trailing his lips along the edge of her jaw towards her own lips. He continued his journey towards her lips, stopping only when his hand found purchase on the hot cup of coffee before her, before he retraced his previous path, this time stopping every few centimeters to mouth at underside of her jaw, when he reached his intended target he sealed the deal. He nibbled at the soft skin beneath her ear, sucking lightly to leave the barest of marks but one the both of them would know was there, he blew softly on the skin, lips once again pulling into a smirk when she threw her head back against his bare shoulder. He leant his head against the side of her own, gently nuzzling against her before he growled out lowly, “Thanks for the Coffee Ash” and then as if he wasn’t affected by the current situation, he stepped back, groaning at the loss of pressure against his painfully hard cock.
To say Ash was an undignified mess wouldn’t be far from the truth, but even in her current state of dizzying arousal she wouldn’t let him have the last word. She spun on her heel, briefly stunned while watching the muscles on his back bunch and twist as he made his way back to his room, before she remembered her mission. “Sir..” she tempted in a voice dripping with sin, smirking proudly when she saw his shoulders tense and his head shoot up in a hurry, obviously not expecting her to speak back, “When you start something next time, I expect you to finish it” and with those as her final words she turned around, leaning heavily against the bench for support, barely resisting the urge to get herself off where she stood, Colonel be damned.
Carrillo only just had his door closed and the coffee cup discard before he was desperately pulling himself from his shorts. In less than a dozen strokes and with a barely concealed yell he had spilled into his own hand, moving across the floor he reached down to pick up a discarded t-shirt to clean up his mess. Sitting down on his bed to catch his breath he had to laugh at the situation, he had underestimated the young woman, severely so, and now he’d crossed a line he never had before. He was in deep, far too deep to continue to deny his true feelings for the junior officer. He flopped back onto his bed, staring at the ceiling before growling out a string of curse words in his native tongue. That girl really knew how to get under his skin.

OMG yes with the "how deeply fucked up the GoT and ASOIAF fandom is"!! I've recently read a dark Dramione fic, it's a very dark take on ABO trope. Asoiaf fandom traumatized me so much that I was afraid to look at the comments finding 2 things. "How could you do this to our precious OTP?!! This is a safe space for Dramione shippers!!1! Remove this filth from our relationship tag!!!" This happens all the time, less so with Jonsa, (i can't forget that Jonerii fic a non-jonsa author -their previous works were sansaery and jonmund- wrote, dany's abusive behaviour from canon was translated into a modern au and jon was trying to escape the relationship, he was friends with sansa and the starks etc, and jonsas didn't even know the fic before bcoz it wasn't in our tag but we heard about it when joneriis on twitter tried to organize to bully the author into removing the fic from the tag) but there are certainly people who freak out when people write dark fics, or not full on happy and sunshine fics with Jonsa.
But more importantly I was worried to see comments like "awww look at the poor boy, Hermione should be more understanding, heal him, help him discover his deeply hidden golden heart, so what if he did "insert all sorts of trigger warnings" to her, he was traumatized too!!1!" and it was a Draco Pov fic so I was surprised to find out everyone rooting for Hermione to get away from Draco and/or kill him. It was a refreshing change from Asoiaf/Got fandom.
People in this fandom have a warped understanding of that old "Fiction is not the same as reality" adage. Yes fiction is different from real life; fiction is writing, reading, enjoying a story, yes even a story with dark elements, and it doesn't necessarily mean endorsement. What it's not though is writing multiple 10k essays on how cannibalism is perfectly OK and actually a good thing™ and everyone should accept it already just because you watched and liked Hannibal. That's what the s/ns/n and other similar shippers do.
Hi there!
I saw that fic, had a quick look at it and closed it again (after checking if Hermione escaped, haha). It’s brilliantly written but not my cup of tea. But it is actually a great example that tagging works - if people do not police the fandom.
There was a time, when Jonsa writers who actually had a nod to Jon€rys, past Jon€rys or even love triangle or anything did not tag the ship on AO3, because the Jon€rys shippers were just so obnoxious about policing the relationship tag on AO3 - and had no idea that the tagging on AO3 works completely different. If the relationship (however twisted, dark or whatever) is in the fic, you tag the relationship.
It is a nuisance, because if you write a Jonsa fic and have Jon€rys in it you then have to avoid the tag because you don’t want the trolls on your fic and then you have to prepare your other readers that Jon€rys actually is in the fic - they might have chosen your fic because they want a Jonsa fic without Jon€rys...
I remember that some Jonsa shippers made a Dark Jon fest out of spite, because sweet cinnamon roll Jon supposedly would never ever... *eye roll*.
If people want horror, let them read horror. If people want to read fucked up relationships, let them. If tagged accordingly, nobody who wants fluffy fics will read that.
It’s so easy to close a tab....
The thing about the ASOIAF fandom is that policing is such a big part of the fandom, that I am always (positively) surprised by the other fandoms I engage in.
There is a whole set of ideas about the books and the characters in the books and the condescending attitude that everyone who has a different opinion should be ostracized. It’s bad enough when it comes to the interpretation of the books - I mean ASOIAF is literature and literature is interpreted differently - but it becomes completely absurd, when the fandom only wants cinnamon roll Jon, kind Dany, badass Arya and dead Sansa in fanfics. Because it should never be allowed to write a character ooc in fanfic (although I would argue that cinnamon roll Jon and king Dany are ooc).
On the other hand they are totally o.k. to write long ass essays about a teenage girl being the absolute worst character in the books (and harass Sansa and Jonsa blogs on that as well) and then write a long apology for Tywin fucking Lannister, the machiavellist, child abuser, does not care about collateral damage, man without scruples who annihilated two families because they insulted him and conclude that he must be the best politician in Westeros. Oh my...  I side-eye the abilities of the ASOIAF fandom to rationally talk about the morals of the ASOIAF characters. Very much so. Their standards are absolutely warped.
I’ll stop here.
Honestly, I’ve changed some of my stances on character because of this fandom and it’s policing. I actually support Cersei knowing fully that she is a villain a) because of Lena and b) just because this fandom is so united in wishing a horrible death on Cersei and I don’t even like Cersei in the books. I stopped looking at the Arya tag altogether, because the “Arya will have revenge on Sansa” takes always make me cringe... I started stanning the Martells, just because this fandom is so set on shipping Rhaegar and Lyanna.
You would be absolutely correct, if you call me out for doing this mostly out of spite. But I only do it on my blog, ostracized and excommunicated as I am .... *shrugs*
Thanks for the ask!

🐶 - roleplay-related pet peeve
Okay firstly I had to pick through like five different pet peeves because I have... so many, (someone send me more of these pls...) but I think for this first one I’ll start with...
“Your character is a villain / a bully / evil / abusive, so I’m only going to roleplay/plot with your muse when I want my character to be hurt.”
I cannot stand this.
My muses are not your personal punching bag.
Will I simplify my muses down to make them ‘do-nothing-wrong-soft-boys’? No, of course not. They aren’t good people. Palmer’s not a good person. The Brandon I run over at @jaggedpass isn’t a good person. I’m not going make them perfect people - this is roleplay, this is fiction, I’ll write them how I’d like to.
This isn’t to say that I won’t have my characters insult yours, mock yours, or hurt yours.
“My muses are not your personal punching bag" just means I don’t want my character to be constantly completely vilified, only brought up and used when someone wants something bad to happen to their muses.
It means that I don’t want other people deciding whether or not my characters are abusive, or would do something evil, even if they are villains.
Don’t come at me saying “We should write a thread where Palmer finds out Barry is gay and insults him over it until he cries”. You’re assuming that he would do that, you’re not giving me room to give my own input.
Do come to me asking questions - “What does Palmer think about other gay people?” “Would he ever be discriminatory towards another gay person?” “What would he think if he found out Barry was gay?” It leaves it open for me to give my own input so we can work together to come up with a plot.
Yes, sometimes people are rude for the sake of being rude. Sometimes villains are evil for the sake of being evil. But if you’re only approaching me when you want your muse to be hurt, and you show no interest in my muse beyond that and don’t seek out my own input on the idea, I’m going to get a bit ticked.
When that happens, my muse simply becomes a decoration for yours. Not a character with their own emotions and motivations, but merely a device for your character to be sad. It means I have to roleplay the same exact interaction over and over again, of my character being completely evil with no nuance - any attempts for me to make my character three-dimensional or dynamic are shoved aside because someone wants my muse to call them a slur again.
And yes, that’s happened to me before.
I would have people on Discord who would come into my DMs and try to make my muses discriminate against them - they would never show any interest in my characters unless my characters could do something to hurt theirs iredeemably.
“Hey, you should have Palmer say there are only two genders to my muse and mock them for being non-binary.” ...Okay but why? “BTW you can have Saturn make fun of my muse’s autism.” Why would my neurodivergent character make fun of your muse for being autistic? “Thorton should mock my muse for being gay.” Why would he?
( Of course, these are just examples, but you get the idea. )
There’s never a reason for it except to cause their muse misery.
What do I get out of my character insulting yours?
How can I use that to advance my character?
Do you see my character as a character, or simply a button you can press for muse angst?

ORGANIZATION!
If I go onto your blog and it’s all personal posts that aren’t tagged with an OOC tag? I likely won’t follow!
If there’s a bunch of reblogged gifsets and fanart with no tag to distinguish them as such? I likely won’t follow!
I follow people because I want to write with them, or because I want to read their writing, and to be blunt I generally don’t care about aesthetic posts when I’ve got a dozen of them on my dash in a row and you’re not reblogging anything I can actually interact with. If I want to interact with you and you have a good tagging system? I can filter out OOC posts if they’re excessive, I can hide aesthetic posts, I can find your ask memes tag to find memes to send in and make it easier to spur interactions.
I use tags super liberally, so if someone doesn’t want to see my little OOC posts, they can easily go and blacklist my tag, and I don’t blame them if they want to! If someone wants to send in an ask, they can look through my ask memes tag.

In regards to Villainy
I’ve been watching the villain post make its rounds and reblogged it earlier quietly with a small rant in the tags about personal concerns of my own. It’s shown up multiple times since then to where I feel some clarification is required on my part personally, as Eligos’s writer.
Communication and mutual agreement is required on all sides in RP, and nobody gets a free pass to do whatever they please because of some label that helps define their typical position in a roleplay. My gear gremlin was made for me as a player to enjoy watching him learn and grow as a person, and to provide minor inconveniences for other players should they wish him to get in their way as a way to help provide character growth for their muses. Not to be some big bad boss who gets their jollies by harming others. And I will not change him to suit anyone’s personal tastes but my own.
Read on if you want to see my whole take on this. Or not.
Let’s start with what the definition of villain actually means, given it’s a vaguer concept than most would like to think:
Definition of villain
1: a character in a story or play who opposes the hero 2: a deliberate scoundrel or criminal 3: one blamed for a particular evil or difficulty
These definitions are a rough guideline, but overall, all it takes to fall into the category of being a villain is a willingness to oppose a hero, regardless of reasoning or intent. Even in a clash of two heroes, you could call one the villain in that particular story for how they oppose the other. It’s a matter of perspective. One could be the villain of a story merely because they aim for the opposite goal of the hero of that tale, even if both end goals are suitably noble in the scheme of things. We often see in literary works that the villains of stories oft have either selfish or noble intentions, and in the case of the latter, what turns them into villains is how they view the world and how they may have let other important aspects fall to the wayside in their single-minded devotion to their goal.
Rarely is it that a good villain is written to be cruel and harsh for its own sake.  The villain’s view of the world may be twisted, but there’s always an element of logic and reason, the same as you might see in a heroic character. Even initially good motivations and desires can be twisted into something absolutely horrendous and monstrous with the right pulls of the string in a character’s history. Some can have their world views changed for the better with time, while others struggle in vain to understand to the bitter end. But that’s how the cookie crumbles. Not all endings are happy, and not every character deserves a happy ending in a story book, especially so when considering how many that they have made suffer through their actions. But by that consideration, heroes aren’t above similar karmic justice as well, simply because they wore the mantle of hero. Nor are they automatically entitled to their happy ending. Harming others, regardless of role one sees themselves in a story, inevitably begets wrath and a desire for similar harm upon the one who originally inflicted it. And while that may lead to interesting interactions, it doesn’t always unfold in a way where things work out where each party gets their just desserts as people believe they should. We watch what happens as a story unfolds, and the job of the mun in roleplay is to portray the character as their motivations, desires, and ethics would bid them do, be it for weal or woe.
But there are additional aspects to keep in mind when roleplaying, and it isn’t simply limited to keeping to the character. Communication ahead of time, and discussing what is acceptable, what isn’t, and what one expects to come of roleplay with another, must all be done in order to ensure things go in a manner both parties are ok with what may happen and are on the same page. There never should be any ‘well that’s what my character would do’ bullshit when it comes to discussing boundaries and hard limits on what one finds acceptable versus unacceptable in roleplay. If you feel your character would not be able to be played in a manner in which you prefer due to said boundaries or rules, it is best to find roleplay elsewhere. To push or pressure one into ignoring their own personal comforts and boundaries is unacceptable. Even when walking up to someone, there still is an expectation of some communication on an out of character level should you intend to harm their character. This isn’t reserved only for villains to do. That’s placing undue burden on one player type while relaxing standards for the rest. All players must heed this if communication is to be healthy, in order to avoid crossed wires.
Which brings us to concerns people run across in roleplay. There indeed are players who play a character type due to the power fantasy, and do not properly communicate with their fellow players, nor keep in mind what they may face for their actions. Please note how I did not specify sides. In my time in roleplay, I have seen many players of heroes pull the same exact thing that they are so quick to accuse villain players of: ignoring what consequences they would logically face for misdeeds and attacking others in the street, as well as attempting to kill without communication or agreement on an OOC level, on top of trying to maim and cripple characters in permanent ways over small slights, such as spilling a beer on them, or harsh words exchanged. All of this, with not a single word of communication or planning ahead of time. One person falling into one side or the other between ‘hero’ and ‘villain’ does not give them a free pass for such behavior. It’s reprehensible behavior no matter who does it, and using the OOC information that someone happens to play as a character on the other side of what one considers good or evil as reasoning for a free license to do so is even moreso. Actions have consequences, no matter what side you are on. It is better and more interesting roleplay to roll with the consequences of a muse’s actions than it is to straight up ignore them. Talk shit, get hit. Hit someone, be hit in return. No party should expect a blanket immunity due to what they consider themselves. But neither should players feel they are given an automatic pass or ability to control the fate of another’s character. That’s still up to the writer of the character themselves, regardless of how much you may dislike the character being portrayed.
In particular, I’ve seen a disturbing number of individuals who feel it is within rights to execute player characters with zero communication out of character, and it’s mostly the players who play the ‘good’ characters saying this. If you feel you have an innate right to execute a character played by another, without any sort of communication ahead of time, you may be better off writing by yourself than with others. No player is allowed to force character death on another, regardless of the roles played. You may discuss and plan, and plot ways any encounter may go, but the moment one tries to bully or force another player into killing their character off, regardless of why, they have gone too far and should not be surprised if the player in question chooses to remove themselves from the roleplay or ignore it entirely.
In regards to the claims of that the guards would not allow such characters in, that is ignoring just how vast a city is and the limited number of troops that would be there to patrol, in comparison to the rest of the populace. What we see ingame doesn’t necessarily correlate to the actual size of each location, as areas have been limited in size both due to technical limitations of the game as well as to ensure a relative amount of convenience for the players.
Certainly, should a character with a bounty and known face get noticed for their deeds or a guard is called for, they should be prepared to potentially face consequences for their actions or try to escape. Actions have consequences. But one cannot simply whip up a dozen super-powered city guard NPCS to try to execute another player simply because they dislike that the player is not playing the type they want them to. Especially if the character in question may not even have a wanted poster or have done anything that would warrant the guard’s attention. That is gatekeeping roleplay at its finest, deciding who should be where based on personal preferences with little regard to others beyond personal feelings. By that sort of standard, any player who disliked someone else could do the same and merely claim that the face is close enough to a bounty that they should be killed on sight. Better to alert a player of a guard character and let them handle it, if you do want to have guards interfere, or plot with said character’s player to see how guards can be involved and then step in if they are agreeable to such. If not, drop it and either watch, or ignore. Whipping up random NPCs to do your bidding and to try to force someone out of roleplay without any discussion will not encourage people to do as you expect, and instead is more likely to earn you a spot on the block list.
Often times, a player character that falls on the villain side of the spectrum may not necessarily have a bounty because they have handled their personal situations or misdeeds in a way that keeps them under the radar, or they are skirting the line between legal and illegal. Assuming that all deeds are known and skipping straight to confrontation is poor form at the least and is considered metagaming. No player gets a free pass to do that. Many villain players have rules that one must adhere to when engaging their characters precisely because as players we’ve all seen people assume what our character would and wouldn’t be let known, or what they would say, and then run with it without even a word to us as the player of said villain. The rules we have are used to avoid such mischaracterization and help ensure that communication is healthy on all sides. Players of both sides get particularly upset when key details are left out and things they do not want nor did they agree ahead of time to are sprung on them.
Finally, a character does not represent the writer. A character may adore strawberries and peanuts, but the writer may be highly allergic to where they are sent into shock even on mild contact with either of them and thus loathes them. And what a character may think of said foods may also differ drastically between what the writer thinks of them as a result of those differences. This is the difference between in character and out of character. I explain it as such as I have seen the community grow progressively worse over time in understanding that what one’s character may do may not necessarily reflect the writer’s view in real life at all. Too many see a character that is morally questionable and believe that the writer behind them will behave in the exact same way as the character, and that how the character may see things is no different than how the player does. If you struggle to comprehend that a character does not necessarily represent the player, then you misunderstand what roleplaying is. It is not merely and only inserting yourself into a game setting down to the last detail. You may do that, but others have just as much right to write out something different, and approach a character not from a perspective of how they themselves feel, but from a point of analyzing of how someone who experienced the history forged for the character might behave and in doing so explore the resulting mindset.
Such history may scar a character or traumatize in a way that brings out behaviors that the player themselves would never consider till they sit down and consider just how the character may respond after all factors are taken into account. Just because one character hates something or someone does not mean that the writer does as well. Darker characters and villains often have traumas that skew their views to some degree, but just because the writer has taken the time to consider what that may result in does not mean they require therapy themselves as a person or that they share those same views or ideals. To say so and paint all players with such a broad brush and claim them to be mentally unwell is disgusting and indicates that, as a player, one cannot separate themselves from their character enough to comprehend that others are able to portray views other than their own personal set of beliefs held as a person. It also discourages dialogue, as it shows an innate, hostile bias, and there are not many that are willing to put up with such hostility and narrow-mindedness as it is being aimed at them as a person and attacking them as a person rather than disliking the character forged. You cannot expect someone to willingly listen and try to see your side when attacked on a personal level for little more than having made something you dislike seeing in your personal roleplay. If you dislike it, don’t interact or involve such a character in your plot line. If they ask for your view, you can always provide constructive criticism, but if you offer it unbidden you should not expect it to be listened to or taken. Especially if it is very clear from how you approach it that your problem is personally with the player and not the details or how they portrayed the character.
As a personal example, Eligos would be categorized as a villain. He works for whoever pays him the most as a minion, and while he mostly does perfectly legal work, he absolutely has done less-than-legal work and then carefully covered up his misdeeds after by pulling the strings of the people who owe him favors. He is considered a villain mainly as he will do whatever he is allowed to within his contract in order to succeed, and often times finds himself working for the wrong [losing] side because his messed-up priorities led him to see the extra money offered as indication of good faith in his abilities and also valuing him as an asset, and not being able to see why acting on behalf of someone he thinks valued him more is a bad thing. He will work with anyone if he’s given a good enough reason or money, or against them if someone else makes a better offer. He won’t kick puppies or harm kittens, or hurt anyone unnecessarily, and if it does boil down to combat, it’s something I absolutely discuss ahead of time to find out limitations and also what one desires to see happen, so that personal growth for the character he is facing off against or with has that opportunity to grow and learn as a person. If someone says they dislike something? That’s now off the table and no longer up for discussion, period. But by virtue of his poor life choices and habitually finding himself on the wrong side of conflict due to his values, he is a villain, through and through.
But playing a character like him isn’t a simple power fantasy made to flex virtual muscles. There’s easier and simpler options, and if I wanted to do that, I’d have just made a hero, as those characters tend to not be analyzed so hard for compliance as villains are. If Eligos had been made to be some stupid power fantasy and nothing more, he’d not be yeeted into a wall half as often as he has by both those around him and his own tools malfunctioning. Nor am I mentally unwell and think the same way he does, simply because I let him say and do the shit that he does. I personally dislike many of his life choices, but do find it amusing to watch him go, and then pile on karma later for all of his misdeeds so he regrets his actions later. He’s an arrogant little gear gremlin who exists to help further stories of others while providing entertaining moments. Just because one individual personally may not see the karma carried out or get to execute him simply as they dislike him doesn’t mean he gets away with no consequences for his actions. As the player, I decide how to punish him. Not others. Him being a villain does not strip me of that right and give it to you simply because you dislike seeing him around.

Roleplaying/Writing
My favorite muse(s) of theirs and why
Aw man. I can’t pick between your muses like this. I love all the ones I’ve interacted with and the ones I haven’t are so cool. But I think someone might get mad at me if I don’t pick Zelda... I think Emry is a close second tho.
I like that Zelda has clear flaws. I’m not a fan of characters that don’t. Like sure it’s nice that they’re all nice n stuff but it’s much more satisfying that she has flaws but is still good in other ways. She’s still a good person. I think that’s much nicer.
Emry. I mean what’s not to like? He’s a goofy guy and a good friend ( who I need to interact with more. I’ll be bringing that thread with all the band bbs *wink wink* ). A lot of people focus on their angst ( heh heh... ) so it’s a nice relief you know?
My favorite interaction/thread of theirs
Okay I love all of them but I gotta say that stuff with Aeron and Felix was good. Even better was the stuff with Zelda and Felix. That was gold right there.
That thing with Aeron, Eira, and Davey was also pretty good. I like that they all knew each other.
My thoughts on their unique characterization/interpretation of their muse(s)
I love that they each have a particular unique element that stands out for their character, whether personality or background. There’s something that really defines how they fit for me to understand them.
My thoughts on their writing style as a whole
I like that you really set up the scene. Somehow I’m just able to picture it all and in the center of it is your character, reacting to it even without saying it in dialogue. Does that make sense?
Situation(s)/Plot(s) I’d love to see their muse(s) in
Would really love to see Zelda the way she was originally created in her mutant verse. Or Davey as a ghost. Have you written those? I don’t really pay attention outside of what I write with people most of the time.
Someone else I love seeing them interact with
Again, I... don’t really pay attention heh... But I see you write with alxnetxgether quite a bit
Anything else I want to say about their roleplaying
Fantastic. Love it. Truly amazing I get to experience it as a writing partner.
If We Know Each Other
What I Think Are Their Best Qualities
Can I say your music taste?! Lol I’m really glad we can bond over music. I like that you understand when I talk about a band sounding a particular way.
I like your ooc post personality too if that makes sense. Like when I read them, it’s kinda quirky ( is that the right word? ) and makes me smile even if you were to complain. Which is pretty wild cuz other people can turn me right off of interacting with them sometimes
What I Think Are Their Strengths
Your perspective on life I think. I mean it’s not impenetrable by the shit that happens cuz life be like that but you still keep going. Especially since you’ve got your dream career you’re chasing and you’re getting there and you’re sticking by it.
Also you’re very caring. I’m thankful for you’ve been so lovely to me
A Memorable OOC Interaction Of Ours
The time I found out you liked B.link 182. That was really awesome. Or once you tagged me in a post with a cover of one of their songs and I think I got excited and weirded out one of my friends
Why Others Should RP With Them
Because the mun is great and the muses are great?? Get you involved in that art man. I love our interactions IC and OOC
How Others Should Approach Them
Reply to an open starter! Send memes! Send an IM to the mun! Kind of the same gig for anyone. I guess best approach is memes if you don’t want to talk to the mun yet
Other Roleplayers I’d Recommend To Them
I could really see Abel or Joe interacting with Roman ( @huntingbounties ). Being into crime n all. They could have a use for him or otherwise run into him.
Maybe Lucifero and Chase ( @notintheipswichboyband ) ? I don’t know much about either character but ~*~*~ M A G I C ~*~*~ so ?
OHHHH you know what? Zelda could talk to Aeron’s twin brother, Daniel ( @faultycode - a great multi in general btw ), and / or his younger “sister”, Jinx ( @the-wonderland-jinx ).
Davey could find a good friend in Ethan ( @ejjxnes ) probably.
Oh! Emry might make some band friends with muses @amity-and-enmity!
I think that’s it for specific recommendations
Anything else I want to say about them
Seriously lovely mun. Go write with them!
If We Have/Plan To Interact Together
A plot I’d like to write with them
Something I just thought of. Joe being ‘Death’ / a reaper while Eira is ‘Life’ / a guardian angel?
Maybe Oliver get involved with Abel somehow.
Oh oh! Maybe Tripp happens to save Davey from some bullies? Not really to save him but he already had some beef with them or something
Nothing really solid so I gave multiple lol
A muse I want to introduce to them
I mean you know all my active muses. I guess maybe William? He’s a muse that’ll be on my other multi once I get that set up. He was raised in the Changeling home world and becomes a detective specializing in the supernatural / unexplained
A ship/broship I’d like to propose to them
Since one of Aeron’s best friends has the same FC as Peter, I thought it’d be cool if Aeron mistook him for him. I know he’s inactive tho so... Just a thought really.
Idk about anything else ‘ship’-like... How about Oliver and Donia? With Eira gone and he’s divorced... *shrug*
A thread with them I’m excited about
Dude I’m actually really excited from that thread with Detective Oliver and Joe. I’ve queued it up so :3
Anything else I want to say
I’m glad we’ve known each other so long and I look forward to interacting more with you! And I hope others that follow me will come see how fantastic you are
