Physically Unable To Love
Jiyan x Reader
Notes: Reader based off of oc (written with reader inserts), gn reader, they/them used, gnc Rover (uses any pronoun), Chixia being the worst wingwoman, extreme romantic pining, unresolved feelings, possible ooc Chixia (I'm going off of vibes from what I've played)
Yet again this man has invaded my head and so I shall write more. Also title is more dramatic then what's actually written lmao.
-
"Come on! It can't be that hard to just ask him on a date!" Chixia exclaimed, frustration evident on her features as she stared at the person across from her. "The worst he can say is no, [Y/n]!"
"And that's the problem! I can't handle a no!" They yelled back, keeping their hands gripping their hair. "I'm self aware enough to know that! It's better if I just get over-"
"Oh hey there he is." Rover casually announced, looking over in the direction of where the general was. [Y/n] was quick to slam their head into the table, cursing as the pain flooded their system.
"Now's your chance!"
"Chixia no-"
"Hey General!! Over here!! We have room if you need a table to sit at!" The redhead called out excitedly, gaining the attention of the man. He carefully walks over, studying [Y/n] who refused to put their head up in greeting.
"Sorry if I'm barging in."
"Not at all." Rover quickly replied, nudging his elbow into [Y/n]'s side. They hissed, glaring at them before sighing as they lifted their head to meet Jiyan's eyes.
"You're fine, General."
"You alright? Are you having one of those moments again?" He asked, sitting down across from them. His eyes studied their tense muscles, brows furrowed in concern. "If you want I can-"
"I'm fine!" [Y/n] interrupted, raising their voice a bit. They flinched once they felt eyes of the other patrons on them, gently resting their head on the table again. "You don't need to do that thing again."
"That thing again?" Both Chixia and Rover asked, their eyes moving back and forth between the two. [Y/n]'s cheeks burned at the memory, practically being cuddled by the general when they grew overwhelmed one evening. They didn't want to remember it, for it only made their heartbeat even more rapid around the man.
"Anyway!" They quickly said, moving the conversation along. "It's a rarity to see you in the city Jiyan! Means times are a bit more peaceful huh?"
"Yes, there's not as many Tacet Discords showing up lately. It's good for the soldiers morale too, since many weren't able to see their families during the threat of the Threnodian's rewakening." The conversation then drifted off, with [Y/n] barely interacting with Jiyan. Chixia and Rover both tried to make them join, but it was to no avail. After some time the general said his farewells and left the group.
"What was that?!" Chixia yelled. "You literally only talked to him like once!"
"Well sorry! Once the food got brought in I suddenly grew overwhelmed!"
"What she means," Rover began, placing her hand on the redhead's. "Is that we just want to help with you-"
"Look I just can't!" They screamed, slamming their hands on tbe table. They flinched once everyone around them grew quiet, sitting back down. "It's not that simple guys. I just...I'm not ready to hear a rejection okay?"
"And what makes you so sure it will be a rejection?" The dark haired person asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Because why wouldn't it be? Even if it's not because he doesn't see me in that way, which he totally doesn't by the way, it's because he's too busy with being a general. I know he would just see himself as a burden like I do with myself and think a rejection is better than a potentially dead partner!"
The two look at them in silence, digesting their words.
"You really thought about it that much?" Chixia asked softly, narrowing her eyes in concern. "I mean I'm sure-"
"I know you're trying to help, but please. Just let me...get over it. It's better than experiencing heartbreak. Besides I have my own as to why I can't be in a relationship." [Y/n] smiled sadly. "I have to find some way back home to my world after all."

Gruvia Week 2024
Day 3: Luminous
type: Soft/fluff, love.
Characters: Gray Fullbuster/Juvia Lockser.
warning: might be a little OOC for Gray by the end? i am not sure :')
this fanfic is also available on AO3
Juvia’s body was screaming with pain, she hadn’t had a fight this impactful for years, and she never felt this sensation of heart ache, why does her heart beat so painfully? Why is this feeling giving her so much pleasure when he looks at her, even when he was fighting, he was admirable, majestic, his magic glow under the pitter patters of her rain.
It was unusual for Juvia Lockser, an S-class mage who is feared by many, despised by many, to be saved from a threatening fall over the building.
She glanced at his bare back.
No one ever cared about Juvia..
So why did he care about an enemy? Why was he so different?
He looked back at her smirking while a strange light came from behind him, making him look ethereal.
“Care for round two?” he asked flirtatiously, or was it Juvia’s imagination?
It was warm, she thought, that strange light but sooner she realised that it wasn’t just a fire light or a candle light, but it was the sunlight peeking from the clouds.
It never happened to Juvia, even if she always yearned for it, even if she travelled miles to find the sun that many people loved and admired, it never came to her because of her cursed rain, but he, this beautiful ice mage, just brought out the one thing she dreamed about every night.
He gave her the sun. and just like that Juvia blacked out with one thought in her head.
Luminous, he is luminous…
“Gray-sama, your smile is luminous!” while they were resting in the campfire they made, sitting on strong tree benches, Juvia exclaimed that startled Gray from his daze.
“God Juvia, you scared me” he put his hand on his heart, looking at her from his seat.
“Oh, i am sorry, Juvia just remembered our first encounter” Juvia explained, her eyes twinkling with a dreamy expression as she imagined how beautiful he was back then.
“ why?” he asked, while he focused on putting the potatoes to roast under the bonfire.
“Well Gray-sama, it just so happens that it was the day that i discovered the sun, and FairyTail, and Love” she looked at him, gazing at his sharp yet soft features gleaming under the fire.
“Then what does Luminous mean?” he looked away from his task, his eyes held a sense of curiosity.
“It means bright and glowing, you are beautiful Gray-sama, you always were” she noticed his cheek turning red from her words, it was adorable for Juvia to see him shy from her love.
She expected the usual reaction of complaining that she was being dramatic or just grumbles of nonsense, what she didn’t expect is him giving her a fond gaze and leaning to give her a peck in her lips.
“ And so are you” he replied with affection, this time he was smiling and the moon shone right through him, making him look dazzling under its light.
Juvia couldn’t do anything but freeze in her spot, for him to act straightforward with her always catches her off guard.
“There’s steam coming off your head baby” he chuckled quietly, as he tried to use a feathered fan from his bag to cool her off, adding a little bit of his magic to the wind.
Juvia is about to faint.

let’s talk about... sex? you&me? (s.b. x reader)
pairing: sirius black x reader
summary: sirius and y/n struggle with the two things that make a relationship. sex and communication.
warning(s): mentions of sex, uh i guess “steamy” scenes but no smut, sirius is written possibly ooc, also kinda angst ?
word count:  6.7k
a/n: this is sort of a mess but i enjoyed it anyway so oh well :p ALSO if you think anything i wrote in this is unconsensual in anyway pls lmk i do not support that AT ALL. anywayy here’s my first fic on this account hehe
A giggle left Y/N’s swelling lips as Sirius lowered her onto his bed. It had been luck that none of his dorm mates were there, but he was pretty sure he wouldn’t have cared if they had been. Not when the girl in front of him was letting out such beautiful labored breaths, a sound that only he got to hear.
Y/N reconnected her lips to his, bringing her hand to cup the back of his neck. Sirius’ lips left hers again, but she didn’t have to let out the whine that was at the back of her throat as he began to nip at the skin of her neck, immediately turning it into a strangled moan. Tilting her head she allowed him to pepper straggled kisses down her neck to the exposed skin of her shoulder that peeked out from her jumper. Or rather his jumper. One of his hands gave him support as he hovered over her, while the other was pressed firmly to her side. He let the pad of his thumb rub circles into more exposed skin and Y/N felt the knot in her stomach grow. It was as though she couldn’t get enough of him. Her hands moved down from behind his neck to start unbuttoning his dress shirt. Sirius began to pull away from her neck but she quickly caught his lips in hers, causing him to smile against her. Her desperate kisses let him know just how badly she needed him. But as he pulled back again, he shifted his body so that he was now laying beside her, his arms sprayed out above him.
Y/N’s eyebrows furrowed at the sudden lack of touch and she turned to Sirius with questioning eyes, “Are you okay?”
“Hmm,” Sirius looked at her with his eyebrows shot up, as if the sudden shift of energy was completely normal. “Oh yah, of course, love. ‘M just tired. Wanna cuddle?”
No. Y/N didn’t want to cuddle. Not when she could still feel his hands on every part of her he had touched and the effects of those touches on the parts he was yet to. But if Sirius was tired, then that was fine. It was actually only right. So she quietly rested her head on his shoulder (not missing the way he stiffened for a second), finding a different kind of pleasure in the way his fingers eventually began to run through her hair.
It had been a few days since the awkward occurrence and Sirius seemed to be making it a point to do virtually everything in public. Every second that he had to spend with Y/N alone, he always seemed to be suggesting they spend it in some public area. Studying? The library. A walk? Near the quidditch field, where his mates seemed to interrupt every few minutes. But now they were running back hand in hand straight into the common room, trying to make sure they reached before Filch caught up to them. Their laughs were loud and their breath heavy as they ran through the portrait hole. Sirius collapsed onto the common room couch, not paying much mind to how empty the common room was.
“I’ve got to hand it to you, Y/N/N,” Sirius spoke, still attempting to catch his breath. “Ditching potions to try to sneak into the kitchens was bloody worth it. Even if Filch might still be on our arse.”
Y/N chuckled as she stood across from the dark haired boy, taking in the site of him. He had shut his eyes and was clutching his stomach with one of his arms while the other was extended across the right side of the sofa. He was smiling, though, indicating that he truly did enjoy their endeavour. Merlin, he was beautiful.
“If it was such a good idea,” drawled Y/N, her legs slowly carrying her closer to the Gryffindor boy. “Why don’t you give me a treat?” Sirius’ eyes snapped open as he felt her fall into his lap and her hands cup his shoulders.
“After all, I didn’t really get that dessert…” she spoke, looking at him through her lashes. Sirius gulped, as he hesitantly wrapped one hand around her waist. Before Sirius could convince himself otherwise, he was responding to her.
“You’re right,” He rasped. “Bloody Filch. How am I gonna treat my girl?” At this point their noses were brushing against each other, lips mere inches apart.
“Mm, I have a few ideas,” Without another word, Y/N connected their lips. Her right hand weaved itself through his black hair and he let out a groan as she tugged on it. His hand had snuck under her robe, traveling up to her bare thigh as it reached the edge of her skirt. As Y/N realized Sirius made no plan to go further, she decided to take initiative. Pulling her lips away, she inched closer once again, lightly biting his bottom lip. Sirius gasped and she stuck her tongue into his mouth. Sirius didn’t even try to fight for any form of dominance as her tongue explored his mouth. All he could focus on was the way her hand was clutching his shoulder so tightly and the noises she was letting out against him. She moved her hand from his neck down his chest, and slowly (so slowly that Sirius wondered if he might’ve imagined it) she let her fingers barely brush past his crotch. But Sirius was sure he wasn’t imagining the way he was hardening underneath her. He quickly brought his hand to her neck, pulling her back and effectively disconnecting their lips.
“Wha-” Y/N yelped, as Sirius set her beside him and jumped up from the couch.
“Y/N! I completely forgot, James and I thought of this wicked prank!” Y/N hazily stared at the grinning boy, still trying to pull herself down from the high she had been experiencing.
“Sirius, why don’t you tell me about it with James… you know, later.” She had a pout on her face, but Sirius laughed ignoring it.
“Yes, let’s go right now. I’m pretty sure him and Peter are headed to the library after class.” He grabbed her hand but she halted his movements, causing him to look back at her with a confused expression.
“There’s still an hour before classes end. We can’t go back right now.”
“Oh it’ll be fine, we can just go to the last of our classes,” Sirius began to walk, but was stopped once again by a quiet voice.
“That’s alright. You should, um, go back to class. I think I’m going to head up to my dorm.” Sirius cringed at the way Y/N’s voice cracked at the end of her sentence, but he made no effort to show her he noticed. He nodded, his shit-eating grin unwavering. As she quietly went up the stairs Sirius sat back down on the couch, dropping his head into his hands.
Upstairs, Y/N wiped her unwanted tears as she sat down on her bed. Sirius and Y/N had been together for nearly a month, which may not have been very long, but they had been pining after each other for a year and for even longer subconsciously. She was more than ready to go farther than just kissing with Sirius, but he seemed to be on a completely different page. Of course, Y/N didn’t mind that the guy she felt so deeply for wasn’t ready to go farther. In fact, she wanted him to feel more than comfortable when they did get there. What bothered her was that it was Sirius that she felt deeply for. Sirius Orion Black, the infamous lady’s man. He had slept with so many girls at Hogwarts that he had lost track (no really, he tried to keep a list when he had first lost his virginity). The same Sirius Black that had told Y/N that it was childish of her to not talk about sex with him because it was “completely natural and something friends talk about” when they were fourteen, was now making no move to do anything of the sorts. How was she not supposed to feel insecure when he had been thinking of James Potter while making out with her? What the fuck.
Despite her insecurities and, frankly, her sexual frustration, Y/N had put her qualms aside by the next day. If Sirius wasn’t willing to have sex yet, that was completely his decision and she had to respect that. So, she sauntered into one of the classes they shared seating herself down next to him and kissing him on the cheek. She playfully winked at James who was glaring at her (he hadn’t quite forgiven the couple for kicking him out of his spot next to his best mate).
“Hey,” Sirius said cautiously. “I didn’t see you at breakfast.”
“I overslept,” Y/N responded honestly. “I missed you though.” She grinned cheekily at the boy in front of her as she rested her arms on the table in front of her, resting her head on top.
Sirius chuckled, scoffing, “Yah? You saw me yesterday.” He carefully watched her to see her reaction to him referencing the previous afternoon. But when her smile remained intact, he felt himself relax. She wasn’t angry.
“I know. What can I say, you have that effect on me.” Sirius’ smile grew even larger, which Y/N didn’t think was possible but was so glad it was. “We’re still on for tomorrow right?”
“Obviously,” Sirius rolled his eyes, jokingly. “I would never miss a date with my girl.”
“Never? Be careful, Black. That’s a deadly promise.”
As the next day rolled by, Sirius found himself knocking on the young girl’s dorm. The door opened to reveal red hair and a pointed look. Lily stared at the boy in front of her and seemed to be sizing him up.
“Lily?”
“Yes?”
“Um, is Y/N there?”
The red-head narrowed her eyes and carefully said, “she’s just finishing up in the bathroom… So where are you taking my friend, Black?”
“Oh, c’mon, Lily. Don’t act like a stranger,” Sirius scoffed, obviously referring to the pair's very close friendship. Lily, who — though she’d never admit it— knew she was being a tad bit dramatic, kept her face stoic as she replied.
“Well, when you date my best friend, this is the Lily you have to deal with. You chose this, Black.”
“If it means I get to date the girl of my dreams, I’d say it's an easy price to pay,” Sirius cheesily spoke, but the look on his face was genuine enough to elicit a positive reaction from his red headed friend.
“Good answer, Black. You’re welcome to come in,” Lily smiled, rolling her eyes.
“Why, thank you. That’s very thoughtful of you, Potter.” Howling with laughter, Sirius dodged the pillow Lily harshly chucked at him from her bed (“I will never be a Potter!”). Sirius placed himself on Y/N’s tidied up bed and found himself smiling at her corner. He had been here multiple times before, but something felt so different now. Suddenly the muggle nightlight she kept between the corner of her bed and her night stand made his heart beat faster. And now getting to see the moving pictures of her friends and her lining her walls was a reminder of how lucky he was to be accepted into her life. And the poster of some famous wizard made his stomach turn with jealousy. Every mundane thing about her side of the room, had him spiraling out of control.
“You didn’t have to meet me here, I could’ve just come to the common room,” Y/N’s voice pulled him out of his head and he shot up taking her in. She had a short white dress adorning her body and a carnation pink cardigan in her hand. Her hair was pulled into a loose ponytail, defining her cheekbones that carried a light blush. She looked gorgeous. She was gorgeous.
“Thought I’d pick you up from your door like in those muggle movies you like.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s not exclusively a muggle thing, but still very thoughtful, nonetheless,” Y/N mused, leaning up to kiss her boyfriend.
“Yes, please pretend I’m not here.” Laughing, Y/N pulled back from Sirius. Apologizing to Lily, the couple left hand in hand.
“Alright, babe, what’s the plan for today?” Sirius inquired, his hand quickly wrapping around Y/N’s shoulders pulling her closer.
“Right, so since we still have class tomorrow, I know we can’t go anywhere, really. But I wanna show you something special. ”
“Ooo, somewhere special you say? Now tell me, where can my precious Y/N be taking me?”
“You’ll just have to see,” Y/N winked up at the boy.
Y/N’s destination had been the herbology greenhouse, which had sparked a lot of questions from Sirius. She explained that she had asked a professor to let the two of them spend some time there if they promised not to touch any of the plants. At first, Sirius had begged Y/N to let him steal some of the ingredients he needed for an upcoming prank he had planned on Severus, but quickly quieted down when he saw the disappointed look on his girlfriend's face. As he finally started to listen, she began to explain why the two of them were here. The night had ended with the two deciding to sneak some leftover dinner out of the kitchen and eat it in the astronomy tower.
Huddled under James’ invisibility cloak, the teenagers tried to keep their giggles at a minimum.
“Oh, would you stop knocking your head into mine?”
“Me?! You stop!”
Finally, after a lot of hushing and, as a result, even louder laughs, they had made it into the Astronomy tower and were now situated on the floor. The pair ate their dinner in a comfortable silence, each of them reflecting on how they had felt that day. Sirius felt loved. They hadn’t shared the three words yet, but there was no other way to explain it. It felt like he had finally found the light out of the tunnel that he had been running through for the past six years, ever since the Sorting Hat had placed him in the house that bled red and gold. He felt loved, safe, worthy. And that terrified him. Throughout the last six years, all he had heard was that he ruined everything. The taunts came from the only other woman he had ever loved. Yes, it was in a very different way but it was his mother. He loved her and all she had ever done was tell him he didn’t deserve the same in return. But as he looked at Y/N as she silently gazed at the stars in front of her, he knew she would never hurt him like that. She was here to stay. Despite this, he still couldn’t bring himself to do the one thing he was yearning to do.
However, Y/N wasn’t on the same page. She began to move her hand up and down Sirius’s thigh as she rested her head on his shoulder, peering up at him. “Sirius?”
“Hm?” But he never got a reply, instead having her capture his lips in a sloppy manner. She shifted so she was propped back on her elbows and Sirius responded by laying her down further.  After a few more moments Sirius could feel that this was once again headed in a direction he had been avoiding. His suspicions were confirmed when Y/N let her fingers play with the hem of his sweater, as if waiting for him to give her some form of permission. As she waited, she brought one of his hands to rest low on her inner thigh, giving him access to move it where he wished. Sirius’ mind was yelling for him to pull away, but as he looked at her laying beneath him he couldn’t help but give into his desires. His hand disappeared under her white dress and pinched at the soft skin of her thigh. Y/N let out a whimper as he began to rub circles in addition to occasionally pulling at the skin. Sirius pulled his lips away at the same time that he moved his hand to rub against her lace underwear. He couldn’t believe the sight in front of him. Y/N had her eyes squeezed shut as she let out quiet moans at the way his fingers were moving against her core. Sirius’ lips trailed down her throat as he considered what was happening. There Y/N was, underneath him, her arousal pooling in his hands, and her breaths showing just how desperately she needed him, and yet he couldn’t go through with what he wanted. Sirius opened his eyes and - somehow surprisingly to Y/N - pulled away, heaving. But Y/N figured if he wasn’t going to respond to her physical hints, she would just use her words.
“We don’t have to stop,” Y/N mumbled, resting her hand on his cheek as she stared into the swirling storm of his eyes.
“No, that’s okay.” Taken aback by his brashness, Y/N let a few minutes pass before she spoke. Everything in her mind was telling her it was a bad idea to voice her concerns, but she had to at least communicate with her fucking boyfriend.
“Sirius?”
“Yes, love,” Sirius was looking out the window, his arms now extended behind him propping him up.
“Why won’t you fuck me?” Sirius’ eyes snapped up to Y/N’s, a look of pure shock on his face. She wanted to run away and never meet his eyes again, but she held her ground. This was normal. Couples talked.
“I- what? I’m not not - I don’t,” Sirius blabbered before he was cut off by Y/N.
“Don’t bother denying it. I mean you’ve been avoiding doing anything past making out, which is fine! I just… i just wanna know why, is all.” Her gaze was stuck on the ground as she whispered the last part.
“I don’t know what to say,” Sirius said, dumbfounded.
“Um, I guess - well, are you uncomfortable? Are you not ready yet?” Y/N’s suggestion was innocent, but all Sirius heard were accusations. Sirius wasn’t necessarily the most mature lad and Y/N implying he was nervous about having sex (one of the things he prided himself on knowing best) seemed like an attack to his pride.
“What? Of course not. I am not the least bit unready.”
“Oh, great then! If you’re worried about me, then you don’t need to be. I’m ready too, Sirius. I really want you.” FUCK. Sirius’ bloody ego had gotten in the way of his only decent excuse as to why he wouldn’t have sex with his own girlfriend. Who was now even closer to Sirius, a welcoming smile on her face.
“N-no. I mean I’m ready but…”
Y/N stared at Sirius unsure of what to do. This was definitely the most awkward moment the two had found themselves in in all the years they had known each other. Staring for a couple more seconds, Y/N leaned closer only to have Sirius lightly push her back.
“Siri-”
“I DON’T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU, Y/N!” He had uprooted from his spot and was now staring down at the girl, making her feel like an irritating child. She slowly rose up from her spot, tears now brimming her eyes as she looked at Sirius.
“Oh… so it’s me.”
“No.” Upon her eyes looking at him with a little more hope he quickly sputtered out, “I mean, yes. Yes, it’s you.” And just like that, tears were streaming down her face. She quickly ran around the slender boy, invisibility cloak be damned. Sirius’ shouts be damned.
The next morning, Y/N had decided what had to be done. She greeted Lily with a smile as she normally would. She got ready for class as she normally would. And went down to meet up with Remus (who had a tendency to wake up late, just like her) as she normally would.
As the two friends talked casually, Remus didn’t even realize Y/N had sat down next to him in the Great Hall. But everyone else had. Y/N and Sirius had sat next to each other since second year. James claimed one side of Sirius’ while Y/N claimed the other. Even James had at times sat in other spots around the table, whether it was to try (and fail) to charm Lily or to tease Peter and Remus. But Y/N had never sat anywhere but next to Sirius and Sirius next to Y/N.
As the werewolf and witch’s laughter finally died down, they looked up to see the whole table staring at them. It was at that moment that Remus noticed the empty spot to the left of the boy across from him. His eyes shifted back to the girl next to him, watching as she quietly ate her food.
“So, Y/N,” James began, a questioning look in his brown eyes. “Don’t wanna sit next to your boyfriend today?”
Sirius’ eyes were already trained on Y/N and the solemn look on his face couldn’t be missed. Her eyes met his for a fraction of a second before turning to James, a polite smile on her face as she replied.
“Don’t have a boyfriend to sit next to,” She deadpanned. The clash of a fork was heard and now everyone, but the one person he wished was, was staring at Sirius. Unbeknownst to Y/N his eyes had gathered tears and he was looking at her as if his world had turned dark. Which it had. Her words had extinguished any form of light and now he was just wandering blind. He quickly shot up from his seat, looking frantically at the faces around him before running out of the Great Hall, ignoring his friend’s requests to slow down.
“What the fuck was that, Y/N?” Y/N had expected James to be the one to shout at her, even Remus maybe. But when she recognized the voice as that of Lily’s her eyes shot up and she furrowed her brows. Had she really messed up? It might’ve been dramatic, but she didn’t think it was uncalled for. He didn’t want to be with her, she was cutting him loose. But the way Lily was staring at her, the judging glare she reserved for everyone but Y/N, made her question whether her ploy of embarrassing Sirius was worth it. But she was also upset. Maybe irrationally, but genuinely upset. So she shrugged her shoulders and continued to eat.
The rest of the day had gone by at an alarmingly slow pace. Y/N’s head was pounding the entire day and all she wanted was to crawl into her bed. She hadn’t seen Sirius in any of their classes and Remus had informed her that he hadn’t attended other classes either. She felt guilty at his words, but she didn’t let it show as she told him she didn't really care what Sirius was up to. The worst part of the day was that while everyone seemed to be treating her normally - granted a little cautiously - her best friend had been giving her the cold shoulder. Since when had Lily become a fan of Sirius? The two shared a strong friendship, but she had warned Y/N at the start of her relationship that Black wasn’t the type of guy you trusted with your heart. Of course, at that time she had been referring to the fact that he often only sought out relationships with girls that ended in him receiving a sexual favor. Ah, the irony of it all.
With Lily giving her the silent treatment and her growing headache, Y/N had opted to stay in her dorm for dinner. Instead, she decided to take a short nap to keep her from feeling everything she felt right now.
“Wake up.” The voice that woke Y/N up from her sleep was harsh and belonged to none other than Lily Evans. As Y/N slowly sat up, Lily pointed to the plate of food she had brought her before exiting the room. It wasn’t fair. Sirius probably had all his mates with him consoling him (or rather cheering him on for his new found freedom) and Y/N didn’t even have the one person she was meant to. Sighing, she picked at her food and had a small conversation with Alice who had stopped by for a bit. Y/N could tell she was dying to ask her about the break up, but was refraining. One thing she could definitely go her entire life without dealing with, was the rumors she was bound to hear the next day.
It had been a couple hours since Lily had left the plate with Y/N and Y/N’s ability to sleep had seemed to disappear. Which meant it was just her and her thoughts. She wondered if Sirius was okay. No person, let alone a man like Sirius, would be happy with the way she had ended things with him. She felt stupid for caring about what he felt. He basically said Y/N was sexually repulsive. The boy that fucked anything with legs, had said he didn’t want to sleep with her. The boy that was supposed to make her feel special.
Yet, all she could think about was that her notes wouldn’t be good enough today to give him for the classes he had missed. And she hoped that he had ate a proper lunch because in the last week him and Peter (who had been missing with Sirius at lunch) had been too busy playing stupid pranks to eat proper meals. She also wondered if he had talked to any other girls. She knew plenty of girls, even some of her friends, that had put their plans of seducing Sirius on hold because of her new relationship. Feeling the little bit of food she had managed to consume travel back up, she forced herself off her bed heading to the common room. She had to distract herself.
She noticed her friends in one corner of the room, but when Lily’s cold gaze met hers she looked away and headed to another corner. She was lucky enough to find a few of her other friends to converse with. She hadn’t really put much input in the conversation, but she listened carefully to what her friends said in hopes that their gossip would distract her.
“Y/N.”
Y/N’s eyes trailed up to meet Remus’ soft ones and a sympathetic smile on his face. He nodded his head to the other corner of the room, indicating for her to follow him. She slowly followed him, her nimble fingers playing with the frayed edges of her cardigan.
“First of all, missy,” Started James a mischievous smirk on his face. “You are not allowed to just sit away from us. Even if some of us are being unnecessarily harsh.” Y/N’s eyes widened slightly as she realized he was referring to Lily. His Lily. But in that moment she was too grateful to worry, especially when he lovingly wrapped his arms around her shoulder letting her rest her head on his chest. She mumbled an apology and wrapped her arms around the torso of the boy that had treated her just like a sister since first year.
“‘s no problem, bug. Just don’t make the same mistake twice.” She nodded her head, falling back asleep within minutes. When she woke up, James wasn’t holding her anymore and instead she was wrapped in a soft cashmere blanket on the same loveseat. It took her eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness, but when they did she had the breath knocked out of her. Across from her, on a slightly longer sofa, was the boy that had just been in her dreams. Sirius looked different from in her dreams, he appeared troubled even in his sleep. But beautiful nonetheless.
Y/N quietly walked over to where he was laying, crouching next to him. She knew it was wrong but all she wanted was to feel his skin under the tips of her finger. She carefully moved the hair that had matted to his forehead behind his ear. She didn’t miss the way he was sweating and the smell of fire whiskey that left his open mouth. But she stayed right there next to him, tracing her fingers lightly across his cheek. Y/n wished she could freeze time right there. Because this way, he wasn’t bothered by her and she could have him right by her side.
“You lost the right to touch me when you broke up with me,” Sirius’ rigid voice startled Y/N and she quickly pulled her hand back.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were up. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have,” her words left her mouth in a rush. Hastily, she began to head for the stairs but Sirius caught her wrist before she could leave.
“Don’t go. Please.” The vulnerability in Sirius’ voice was enough to make her turn around. He was still laying on the sofa and he made no effort to explain himself. He just looked straight into her eyes, the fireplace casting shadows across his face. Her wrist was itching from his touch and her eyes burning from his stare. She swallowed her nerves and sat at the end of the sofa, releasing herself from his grip.
“I shouldn’t have been so childish this morning,” Y/N murmured, her eyes looking straight at the fireplace. She shifted her gaze to look at him knowing she had to do this. “I’m sorry for the way I ended things, I should’ve done it in a more mature way.”
“You shouldn’t have done it at all.” Y/N would’ve scoffed if it wasn’t for the fact that Sirius looked like he was one wrong move away from falling apart.
“That isn’t fair, Sirius,” Her voice rose slightly, but she recognized that the common room wasn’t the right place for her to unleash all her emotions. “You can’t expect me to stick around when you don’t even want me.”
Sirius simply sighed, using his arms to get up and bringing his knees to his chest. “You’re crazy stupid, love.”
Y/N was ablaze with anger now and was about to get up before deciding against it. She was going to speak her mind, no running away from this.
“Yah, I’m so crazy for not wanting to be in a relationship where the guy I love doesn’t even want to have sex with me.” She was so angry she didn’t even realize what she had said.
“I love you too,” The raven haired boy replied, breathlessly.
“What?”
“You said you love me. Do you mean it?” Y/N cursed under her breath before looking at her lap as tears began to fall from her eyes.
“Yes, Sirius. I love you,” The tears were falling harder now but she persisted. “But don’t lie to me. If you don’t love me, that’s okay. But stop pretending you do,” she was sobbing now. Her whole body was racking with sobs as she brought her hands up to cover her face. The long forgotten headache was slowly creeping back into her head and all she wanted was for it all to stop. But apparently the universe had other plans for her, because she was now being wrapped into the arms of the one person she wanted to get the farthest away from but also impossibly close to.
“I would never lie to you,” Sirius began, rubbing the young girls back. “Especially not about this. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t. I love you so much, Y/N. I don’t think you could ever understand how much I need you.”
The young girl didn’t respond, instead just letting her heart pour itself out in the arms of the boy who was squeezing it. Eventually, she pulled back from Sirius. He felt cold. Despite the fire that was lit right next to them, he felt so cold without the contact of her body.
“How,” she sniffled. “How can you love me but say what you said last night? Do you think I’m unattractive? Or is it something I do?” Sirius had never seen the girl so unsure of herself. She almost always exuded confidence. Authentic confidence. He couldn’t believe that the girl he was meant to make feel secure, was doubting herself because of him.
“Listen to me, Y/N. You are the sexiest girl I have ever seen. And that’s not just some bullshit I’m spewing to make you feel better. No, I mean you are literally the sexiest girl in all of Hogwarts and I am yet to find someone more attractive than you in any other place I’ve spent time. I’m pretty sure it’s impossible. You’re so fucking hot that - Merlin, this is embarassing - in fourth year I had my first wet dream about you.” At this the girl in front of him couldn’t contain the chortle that left her throat.
“What?”
“I know, it’s so fucking embarassing. I never told you because I thought if I expressed how attractive I thought you were it would ruin our friendship.”
“Oh,” sensing the forlorn feelings creeping back into her mind, Sirius continued.
“But you’re also beautiful. Like heaven and the stars above on earth, ethereally beautiful. Do you remember last year, when you, Lily, me and the boys went to that muggle ball over summer holiday. The one Lily took us to? I, um, actually one moment,” Sirius without another explanation ran up the stairs. However, within seconds he ran back down a book in his hand. “You can’t tell anyone but I have a journal-”
“You have a diary?
“A journal.”
“I like when guys write in diaries.”
“It’s a diary, actually,” Sirius smirked when he saw a bigger smile spread across her face. He wouldn’t stop till he got one that met her eyes. “Well, this is my diary from fifth year. On the day we went to the ball, I wrote quite a lengthy entry - I’m sure you remember a lot happened that night. But, I wrote this first. I think I might be fucked. I’ve never doubted how attractive Y/N is, but today was different. She looked like an angel. I mean a literal angel. Her dress was gold and it had one of those necklines that makes a v-shape. That’s probably what they’re called actually. But, by Godric, she looked so gorgeous. When she was walking down Lily’s stairs to meet up with the boys and I, I had to pinch myself. I actually pinched myself, because I thought I was at my bloody wedding. A wedding?! Why the fuck did I think I was marrying my best friend? How is it humanly possible to be that beautiful?’”
“A wedding?” Y/N’s eyes were blown wide, as she looked at Sirius with worry.
“Don’t worry, love. We both know I have a tendency to be a bit dramatic We can table the wedding talk for a few years from now,” He winked, and this time he heard the laugh she let out. “What I’m trying to say, Y/N, is that your looks are not even in the question. Neither is anything you're doing. Which by the way can I just ask, how are you so good at that shit?”
Her cheeks flushed and she was glad that it was dim in the room. Ignoring his question she proceeded with one of her own, “Then why, Sirius? If you’re ready and I’m ready and your diary knows that, why don’t you want to sleep with me?”
“I do, more than anything. I don’t know why I didn’t just say that yesterday,” Upon receiving a skeptical look, he continued to explain himself. “I want to be with you in that way and in every way possible, but I don’t want to rush it. Not because I’m nervous, per say, but because that’s what I always do.”
“Baby,” Sirius shifted closer as he heard the endearment leave Y/N’s lips. “I know you're more experienced than me, but that doesn't bother me. I’m not going to think that I’m just another one of your conquests, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“That was one thing I was worried about, but I also just think I need to take it slow for me. I’ve never had a girlfriend before. You had that one git early last year,” He grumbled, eliciting an even louder laugh from you. “But, I’ve never been in anything serious. And I think I need to assure myself that I can build a connection - a romantic one, that is - outside of sex. I’m quite shit at communicating, as we have gathered from recent events. I need to work on stuff like that first I think.”
The y/e/c eyed girl felt her heart swell as the words left his mouth and it took everything in her not to throw herself on top of him.
“Are you upset?” It was Sirius’ turn to basfully face away, as he awaited a response.
“How could I be?” Y/N moved closer to Sirius so that they were both face to face and her hands grabbed his. “I’ve been blessed with the best boyfriend in the world.” Sirius’ ears perked up at her words.
“Boyfriend?”
“If you’ll forgive me? I should’ve tried to understand you better. I shouldn’t have been so rash.”
“Wasn’t only your fault, I definitely had my part to play.”
“Hmm,” She hummed. She pulled at his hand in a way that indicated she wanted to lay down. He pulled her into his chest as she continued. “In that case, we can work on it while building our connection.”
“I like the sound of that,” Sirius nuzzled his chin into her hair, before resting his cheek over her head. “Now, tell me. How was your day without the amazing Sirius Black?”
“Oh, Sirius,” she started, already feeling better that she could vent to him. “It was utter shit. I mean not only did I not have you, Lily was so angry with me. All of the boys were so sweet, but Lily wouldn’t even look at me.”
“Shit.”
“What?”
“Um, I might’ve told only Lily everything I just said to you, this morning. And I might’ve left out my harsh words last night.”
“Sirius!” Y/N tried to hit her fist against his chest, but he caught it easily.
“I’m sorry! The boys wouldn't have understood what I was saying. I’m actually the most sensible of the bunch.”
“Okay, well that just isn’t true. But too bad, Lily’s my best friend, you get the three boys that barely make one brain together and I get the smartest girl in our year. Do you understand?” She sassed, only a little mirth evident in her voice.
“Yes ma'am,” Sirius grumbled.
“Good.”
“You’re wrong by the way,” Sirius spoke, continuing upon seeing Y/N’s confused stare. “You’re the smartest girl in our year.”
She rolled her eyes before replying, “I can’t be the sexiest and the smartest girl.”
“That’s why you’re so amazing, you defy the odds!” At his compliment, the girl simply mumbled for him to shut up and he pulled her closer.
“Y/N, can you say it again?” She didn’t have to ask him what he meant. She knew.
“I love you, Sirius,” She whispered, pressing a kiss against his clothed shoulder. “I love you so fucking much.”
“I love you too, darling.”
“I love you.”

qijiu bingqiu (bingliushen??) fix-it fic planning blabber
so i think i gotta keep it tight on SJ’s POV. Right before his death, he makes a deal with Xin Mo (who’s kind of a lone operator bc LBH too has to fight its power) to create this alternate timeline in exchange for his cultivation. Xin Mo can open up new dimensions no problem, and with SJ’s cultivation, it even manages to rewind the timeline. That’s not enough though—Xin Mo’s goal is only consumption, so it takes the deal but reveals there’s nothing that will actually change. The price SJ paid only opened the door.
But that’s fine, ‘cause SJ saw it coming. He also strikes another deal, this time with Death itself? Some sort of large cosmic force. The only thing he wants changed is Qi-ge’s death, and in exchange...the universe takes him. SJ will not get to exist in that second universe. SJ takes the deal.
And that’s the start of canon. SJ-as-SQQ can no longer exist. Instead, SY-as-SQQ is brought in. In order to stay cohered though, YQY’s memories and personality get a little glitched—he is physically incapable of recognizing all the ways SQQ is now not SJ. That’s why, despite SY-as-SQQ clearly being OOC, YQY never seems to see it.
Canon happens, now we’re in the post-canon world where bingqiu are married and settling down, but SQQ still kicks it with his buddies LQG and YQY every now and then. YQY still firmly believes SQQ is SJ, to SY’s increasing consternation. Is it just delusions and wishful thinking? The more YQY treats him as SJ though, the worse SY feels—he shouldn’t be stealing all this affection that doesn’t belong to him.
It all comes to head when SQQ overhears public opinion on YQY, how he’s perfect in everything but his crazy devotion to SQQ. SY thinks enough is enough. He can’t bring SJ back but he sure can tell YQY that his Xiao Jiu is dead, right? The System warns him he’ll be punished but that’s fine, it’s just not fair, SQQ can take another little mental horror trip down to BinggeLand if it means YQY can have some closure.
Except that’s not what happens. He gets YQY in private and says, “no, you don’t understand, Shen Jiu is dead.” He sees the recognition in YQY’s eyes, but he also sees the moment that recognition gets wiped. The sad smile that had fallen off of YQY’s face returns, eerily happy, as YQY says, “my apologies, Qingqiu-shidi, I must have spaced out just now, what did you say?”
Right before the System kicks him into another punishment phase, SY tries again: “Shen Jiu is dead!” He sees the recognition disappear once again from YQY’s eyes.
Inside the punishment world, Bingge has him again. “I’ve been searching for an answer to why the sniveling pathetic version of me gets you as his Shizun, and I think I figured it out.” For a moment, SY’s horrified by the possibility that Bingge has figured out his transmigrator status—if his punishment figures it out, would he be trapped inside the punishment forever? But instead, Bingge says, “Liu Qingge is still alive, meaning Shizun didn’t kill him in the spirit caves. Did his survival render such a dramatic change?” SQQ”s like “yup, yup that’s definitely it. We’re such good friends, he really changed my outlook on life, so I treated you better, mhm.”
“Shizun’s very clever then to save his own life this way. Xin Mo’s already told me about your little bargain.”
That’s how SY learns that SJ had made a deal. Holy shit, he’d thought it was just random phenomenon this whole time, but the original goods had made it all possible? He didn’t know whether to thank SJ or curse him.
But that can’t be the whole story—Xin Mo opened up a timeline, that doesn’t explain why SY is here. Bingge doesn’t know this part, but it sure feels like SJ made a second deal, paying with his life.
What would motivate the original goods to do all this? Sacrifice his hard-won cultivation and his entire existence in this last-ditch effort?
The memory of YQY’s glitching came to mind.
Holy shit. SY owns the two of them more than he’d ever thought.
After the punishment, SY goes back home. He’s with Binghe, and LBH can tell there’s something troubling him.
“Binghe, there’s something this husband wants to do, and I need your help to do it.”
“Shizun, anything.”
“...But there’s a risk it might hurt you. There’s a risk it might ruin everything. It might be straight-forward, but it also might not be. It’s safer for all of us—but especially you, Binghe—if I just let things be.”
“But it’s not something that Shizun can just let be, is it? Otherwise Shizun wouldn’t have said anything. Binghe is honored to help. Anything to ease Shizun’s mind.”
“...I promised I wouldn’t let you come to harm again, and I meant that. Whatever happens, remember that I am your husband, this is my call, and you must do whatever you need to do to protect yourself, okay? Swear to me, Binghe.”
SQQ begins figuring out how to use Xin Mo to go fetch SJ from the other timeline. He figures that if Bingge could exist in this dimension without destroying the space-time continuum, the same ought to be true for SJ. Only trouble is, he can only go get SJ after SJ’s made the deals, because otherwise it’s a paradox, and he wouldn’t exist.
So SQQ brings home limbless, post-torture!SJ. That’s where the fic starts.
By all accounts, the deals are squared: SJ no longer has cultivation and SJ died in SY’s dimension, so SY successfully exists. SJ and SY can exist in the same space totally fine, and SJ begins healing.
(Currently, the fic is completely from SJ’s POV, and very much about coming to terms with being saved and what the hell is going on in this better world.)
The trouble is, SY doesn’t know what’s going to happen when SJ meets YQY again. SJ very thoroughly declines the offer to go see YQY because part of SJ still believes this whole thing is a trick, and if he goes to see YQY he’ll ruin his end of the bargain and YQY will die again. For SY’s part, he’s afraid of SJ going to see YQY too for similar but opposite reasons—if SJ going to see YQY ruins SJ’s end of the bargain, then wouldn’t that mean SY can no longer exist? Would SY just disappear from this universe?
So we get ragtag group therapy fun times. SJ thinks this is probably all an illusion Xin Mo is tricking him with, so treats everything with scorn but also existential apathy. This actually works to his benefit because he’s not clinging to things as hard, and it’s easier for him to admit, for example, that he was definitely in the wrong for abusing LBH, and yeah he was being a spiteful bitch when he did not need to be.
SY tries to keep LBH away from SJ mostly, because c’mon, he’s not about to make his darling husband face his childhood abuser. He does explain the situation to LBH though, in the same terms that Bingge had (mis)understood it lmfao—that the act of saving LQG’s life had prompted an entire 180 on his personality so he came out of the spirit caves a better man. LBH’s jealous as fuck of course, but damn if that doesn’t explain some things. Given the opportunity to see his old and new Shizun side-by-side, LBH takes it, and really gets a moment to see how horribly he’s been treated by SQQ.
So it actually prompts some therapy between SY and LBH too. LBH used to figure that getting pushed into the Abyss was squared by SQQ sacrificing himself to save him. But ofc it turned out SQQ came back and kept on, in his perspective, trying to get away from him. Trying to leave him behind. SQQ’s tried to treat his abandonment issues by going “okay sorry about that I’ll never leave you behind again” but he’s never really explained it.
SJ’s presence gives Binghe the ability to ask the question again and gives SY an answer: shame and cowardice. They’re able to put SJ’s mistreatment of Binghe right in front of them and SY-as-SQQ gets to explain how much it hurt to look back on that bit of their past, but also how much he feared LBH's retaliation. LBH is a little hurt, but also he remembers how he’d raped SQQ under Xin Mo’s control and, looking at what’s left of SJ now, he sees his own darkest possibilities. He really did destroy the man he loves now in another timeline. That helps him contextualize SY’s fears and why SY chose to push him off the cliff.
LQG crashlands into the middle of this whole party as is his wont. He gets a little fix-it too maybe. SY very staunchly repeats the reason for his personality swap—saving LQG in that cave made him a Better Person™. Meeting the original goods again, LQG is forced to believe it. Or like, it doesn’t really matter to him either way, but now he really does see pre-cave SQQ and post-cave SQQ as two completely different people.
SJ though, has to swallow this really weird pill. He remembers trying to save LQG inside the cave but failing, and then getting blamed for LQG’s death. If he’d succeeded, he and LQG would’ve become...this close?? A life debt between them would’ve changed his outlook on life so much???
Well whatever. Now that he’s put down all his old posturing, he more readily gives his reasons for why LQG gets on his nerves so much: the insufferable confidence (arrogant prick), the skills to back it up (privileged bastard), and a flawless cultivator family with all the money and the training and the pedigree. (Meanwhile SY’s like “oh shit that’s me too hahahahah awkward, good thing he still thinks i’m him so he doesn’t just murder me immediately.)
LQG’s a little weirded out too. SY-as-SQQ is his favorite person in the world, so it’s hard to get angry at SJ-as-SQQ since they’re “the same person.” He’s more willing to talk all this out with SJ and brings up all their old beef on his side too: high-handed snootiness coupled with underhanded dick moves, also the whole sleeping-with-prostitutes thing hurting Cang Qiong’s reputation. Ofc they’re snapping at each other this whole time. “There’s no reason for you to do all that!”
SY intervenes if needed. “Actually there is.” Considering the fact that SJ gets indicted for so many things that actually turn out to be not his fault, SY figures he’ll just get it out there. “Remember Qiu Haitang’s accusations against me? I grew up a slave in that household. I grew up believing it was kill or be killed—it doesn’t make sabotaging others right, but...that’s why the Spirit Caves made such an impression on me. I learned it wasn’t just kill or be killed, I can also save people. It opened my eyes to everything I already had, and everything I should be grateful for.”
This is for both LQG and SJ. And it works, to some degree. SJ knows he managed to claw to the top of privilege, but he still felt horribly insecure there. That’s because, he realizes, he never got the thing that would actually grant him security. It's not power or money or reputation—it’s Qi-ge. Holy hell he misses Qi-ge. In anger and betrayal, he’d pushed YQY continuously out of his life, but when faced with certain death the only regret he actually had was bringing Qi-ge down with him. YQY was meant to have survived, and in this world, he did.
So now, after all that, SJ really, really wants to go see his Qi-ge. It’s nice to have survived (and gotten part of his power back—at the very beginning, SY gives one of SQQ’s eyes to SJ as a bit of his golden core in order to save SJ’s life), but it’s so damn hard to live on in this world knowing YQY is only so far away, still very deeply attached to Xiao Jiu.
They try to Cyrano it at first. SY-as-SQQ goes to YQY with SJ’s voice in his ear, telling SY how to treat YQY as him. YQY is so fucking touched and hopeful, and SY is damn uncomfortable. He goes running back to SJ and says it’s not going to work—it’s not going to work because he’s no longer Qi-ge’s Xiao Jiu. He’s Luo Binghe’s husband, okay? He can’t go back to YQY as SJ.
SJ’s fucking furious at first (what kind of shitty variation of himself saves LQG’s life and then falls out of love with Qi-ge???? bitch?????) but what can he do? LQG tells them YQY’s on his way here and SJ hides for now. They still don’t know what will happen if SJ meets YQY, so SY continues to front as SJ for now.
But during this conversation, something changes. Maybe YQY says something, but SJ realizes he’s actually a little willing to take this chance. If Qi-ge does disappear—easy, he’d just kill himself right after. He’d already experienced Qi-ge’s death twice before, and at least this time, he can follow, knowing he’s at least reconciled with Qi-ge through SY.
And if he disappears on his own, then at least he knows there’s a world in which Qi-ge does not die horribly. That’s enough for him.
That, however, leaves the very last possibility—that SY will disappear. At this point both LQG and LBH have figured this out, and are very, very reluctant to let this be the scenario. They don’t see it as two people, they see it as their version of SQQ vs. YQY’s version of SQQ.
So there’s a little tension, but in the end, SY gets the final choice. As soon as he learns SJ is willing to go see YQY, he chooses that path. He simply owes qijiu too much to deny them the possibility of reconciliation. So despite knowing he might disappear from Binghe and LQG’s life, he makes it happen.
(They should get a very painful goodbye scene.)
SY goes out to explain things. “Zhangmen-shixiong may have noticed my change since my qi deviation and the spirit caves.” “I’m happy Xiao Jiu has a brighter outlook on life.” “Yes, but I think Qi-ge, of all people, might actually prefer how I was before, right?” “If Xiao Jiu’s happy, I’m happy.” “Yes, but Shen Jiu wants you. Is that alright?” “—of course. I want Xiao Jiu too—”
SJ comes out. Everyone holds their breath.
Scene cut.
It’s said that Cang Qiong’s Sect Leader Yue Qingyuan disappeared suddenly one afternoon...
But jk, YQY just ran away with SJ, they’re recuperating in the mountains and everybody’s fine and it’s a happy ending.

oh, in that chase could i get headcanons or Scenario of Deidara With a fem!S/o who is part of the royal family (of his respective nation) but it´s also (and opposite of how it has to be a princess) a ninja of anbu level and it becomes a traitor of her nation when they discover the relationship
I’m still not that far into Naruto, so apologies if Deidara is a bit ooc. Hope you enjoy ✨
𝔻𝕖𝕚𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕒 𝕄𝕒𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣
As a member of the royal family, you had to abide by the etiquette that was imposed on you at a young age. It was important that, as the nation’s only princess, you act graciously.
You never found the appeal of pretending to be someone you were not, often rebelling against these royal rules.
However, you wouldn’t have to worry about these for much longer. Near your sixth birthday, an assassin would infiltrate the palace killing all members of the royal family, except you, before he was intercepted.
Left as the sole heir, you were destined to take the throne but because you were too young to rule an entire nation, self-appointed leaders began to appear. A civil war ensued, tearing the once peaceful country into shambles.
You had been sent to live with your uncle, the Third Tsuchikage of Iwagakure while the aftermath settled down.
The village was surrounded by mountain ranges, built from the same stone as those. Villagers, especially shinobi, were headstrong. They had rock-hard attitudes they applied to their lives. In fact, many of them practiced Earth Release techniques.
You quickly took an interest in becoming a shinobi to distract yourself from the pain of losing those closest to you. It wasn’t a healthy coping mechanism but your uncle allowed it. He thought if you used that as an outlet to let your anger and negative emotions out, you would eventually healed.
He was partly right. The events that occurred during your youth marked you permanently and would have led you into a darker, self-destructive path if it wasn’t for Deidara.
You met him through training. He was rather talented and his presence brought you peace. Deidara always seemed relaxed, even in battle, but that wasn’t what attracted you to him. It was his passion. More specifically, his love of art.
The two of you were resting from practice. “You see (Name), art is a fleeting moment of beauty that vanishes gloriously.” Though you weren’t necessarily an artist yourself, you nodded, holding your chin like a wise old man with a long beard. “Hm, art is explosive?” “Exactly!”
Being the Tsuchikage’s niece, you had more insight than the average genin. From time to time, you’d eavesdrop in conversations between high ranking nin and your uncle. “(Name) we know you’re there..” “!!!”
Your skills as a shinobi had improved dramatically throughout the years. Still, you were forbidden from joining any type of elite force as you were still an heir. “(Name)-sama, your safety is a priority. One day, you might become the next Tsuchikage if not the Queen of your country.” “Ugh! Uncle Ōnoki will never step down. He’s too proud to choose a successor.”
Deidara reluctantly let you braid his hair. He knew you were upset and knew that this was one of your most peaceful ways of distressing. Had it been someone else, he would have blown them away. “Deidara, you’re so lucky you get to join the Explosion Corps” you sighed mournfully.
The man in questioned mediated on your words. “I like using my clay sculptures in missions—” You interrupted, “They are great.” “But I want to be greater than this. I want my art to be elevated, yeah?”
Your fingers threaded gently down his scalp, giving Deidara goosebumps from the pleasant sensation. For someone who behaved rather roughly, you sure were tender with his hair. “I heard uncle talking about one of the village’s kinjutsu. It’s only passed through generations..”
Intrigued, your blond companion shifted positions to look at your face. “Supposedly it allows users to knead chakra into objects. Perhaps with your—”
It seems Deidara was thinking the same as you. “I could combine that with my Explosion Release!” He grabbed your hands, “(Name), do you know this technique hm?” You shrugged, “No. Only when I become—if I become Tsuchikage, I’ll be taught this.”
Deidara, initially excited, slumped. “That’s too long.” You couldn’t help but chuckle at his change in demeanor. “Are you in a hurry or something?”
Looking into your eyes, Deidara closed the space between you both. His stare felt intimate, speeding up your heart. “If I were to leave the village, would you come with me?”
You blinked in surprise before biting your lip guiltily. “I would love to, but I can’t. As much as I hate it, my duties lie within the village and my country.”
Deidara looked down, absentmindedly playing with your fingers. He said nothing but he didn’t have to, his actions spoke louder. “Why would you want to leave the village anyways? And, how would the two of us live a-alone?”
At your naivety, Deidara stood up ready to go but you grabbed his hand, stopping him in his tracks. “Wait. Don’t leave me..”
“Would you be able to locate the location of the scroll that contains it, hm?” You stood up, still not releasing from. “I guess so, but why—”
“Could you just do it…please..”
Perhaps you knew from that moment what Deidara had planned but you pushed yourself to think otherwise.
As promised, you used your skills to find where the scroll was being kept before passing on that information to Deidara.
He ran his fingers up your arms before settling on your elbows. “This face.. its so beautiful it should be considered art..” one of his hands settled on your waist while the other cupped your cheek. You figured what he was trying to do and kissed him. Passionately.
It lasted a while. Before this, neither of you had made a move. There were always the longing looks and casual yet intimate touches. Everyone around you noticed the closeness between the two of you, even deciding that you’d make a good couple. “You should go to sleep.”
“Okay..” you bid him goodnight. “See you tomorrow?” He smiled, “Sure.”
It was the middle of the night when you were awoken by loud explosive noises. Some of them shook the tower in which you lived. Clicking your tongue, you detangled yourself from the covers, running towards the window.
Curses left your mouth as you connected the pieces together. “Damn him..!” He’d really done it.
You rushed to get dressed and chase after Deidara. Though you were technically not allowed to leave the village, you could sort that out with your uncle later. You struggled to put on your shoes, jumping around in the darkness with one foot while the other refused to enter the shoe.
You weren’t given the chance as shinobi filled the room. Meeting your eyes with the Tsuchikage, disappointment reflected in them. He knew. He knew that you were the one that had given Deidara the information. The two of you were practically inseparable.
Bringing your other foot down, you didn’t spare anyone a last look before running towards the window and jumping. Shinobi were quick to follow but Ōnoki stopped them. “Let her go.”
The Tsuchikage was showing you the ultimate mercy he could afford. He was never a father figure to you, he knew that Deidara was the only person left who you loved.
Besides, you were an extremely skilled nin despite not joining a special unit. It was probable you would make matters more difficult for them. Not to mention, that no one knew if you’d stolen any secret techniques either.
You tried. You desperately tried to find Deidara now that you were considered a traitor. A traitor to your country and Iwagakure. There was no use going back.
Truthfully, you were lucky the Tsuchikage allowed you to go without repercussions. Like Deidara, you were now a rogue nin without means to travel or survive.
Speaking of which, Deidara seriously considered taking you with him even if it was by force but upon further thought, he couldn’t.
You were better off without him. By stealing from the Tsuchikage, Deidara knew he’d become a traitor and a fugitive. It was safer for you to not be associated with him. Maybe you could find a prince to marry or finally become the Fourth Tsuchikage.
His heart would heal with time. Deidara would be able to forget you, your face, your mouth, your soft lips..
Two years would pass before you found information regarding the whereabouts of your beloved. Word had it that there was a bomber for hire. People’s description of this individual sounded incredibly familiar so you sought him out.
Deidara had been hired by a mysterious person. He’d been given an address to meet and discuss the deal but they hadn’t shown up.
The place was bare so it couldn’t be a trap, but as the seconds trickled by he couldn’t help but doubt. As he was about to leave, a certain figure tackled him.
Deidara had not sensed them. Were they in the room the entire time?? He could barely process this as the cloaked figure grabbed his wrist and pinned them to the side of his head.
During the struggle, the hood fell revealing the individual behind this attack. You smiled, though the anger behind your eyes was clear. “I thought..” your hands tightened around his wrists “I had made it clear that you wouldn’t leave me.”
Not a lot of time had passed but you had become even more beautiful. Deidara couldn’t help but stare. Your face showed signs of maturity; eyes sharp and those sensual lips molding into a straight line.
You had abandoned everyone, everything you knew.. for him? You’d become a traitor, a deserter, a rouge nin for his sake. Was your love for him truly that strong?
Upon spotting the tongues on his hands, you tilted your head curiously, bringing back some of your innocence.
“Well, we can work with that.”

His lucky charm
Word Count: 2,396
Pairing: Oikawa x fem!reader
Warnings: swearing, ooc Oikawa
Tumblr media
Oikawa always got what he wanted. Always, without any doubt. That included you, even though the way he got you was a bit more complicated than he liked.
You were in the same class and you were very well aware of his reputation and status as a volleyball player. Ever since you watched the first volleyball match in which he played, you were fascinated and made it a habit to attend every single one of them. The only thing that irked you were his fangirls, you couldn´t blame them for being so over the top, but you could barely concentrate on the game with their screaming.
And they pushed you to the side all the time so that you didn´t have a good view anymore, from that point you made sure to be early for the matches to have a decent chance to get a good space.
You never would have thought to get this invested in something, you got by good in school, but weren´t in any club since nothing really interested you that much. Instead you tried out different things and hobbies in the club times.
Oikawa thought it was funny how you never talked to him about the games, after all you caught his eye ever since school started. During lessons you sat next to each other and had to work together a lot, talking to you was nice and easy, but it irritated him how you never mentioned that you knew him. In reality you didn´t think much about it, you knew that Oikawa knew very well what a great player he was and you didn´t see any reason to boost his ego any more. And, no matter how stupid that sounded, you wanted to get to know him beyond the persona he portrayed on the field.
Sure, you were just making small talk, as you would when you worked together on homework, but nothing more than that. He didn´t talk about himself, which was very hard for him, but he didn´t want to scare you away. You were the only person he made an effort with to not seem like an asshole.
Well, you´d find out his true colors sooner or later anyways.
After a while though your conversations seemed to fade out, they got boring and you talked less, concentrating more on the school work.
You hated yourself for it, but you noticed that you were just like all the other girls who had a crush on him. Not that you minded the crush, he was very attractive and you weren´t blind. But it was only his looks, so you didn´t think much of it. However lately the thought of getting to know him better seemed very appealing to you, even though you knew he wasn´t interested in you that way and you wouldn´t have a chance anyway with such a great competition.
“When´s your next game?” you casually asked, it couldn´t hurt to try, right? So far this was just a normal topic.
Oikawa´s eyes sparked, a smile plastering his face.
“I didn´t know you were interested in volleyball” he tilted his head, eyeing you curiously.
“Well, I wouldn´t say I´m interested in it, but I like watching your team play” you said honestly, you didn´t know what it was what it got you hooked, you just couldn´t look away.
“Aww, I´m flattered (Y/N)-chan!” he teased you, his smile turning into a mischievously grin.
“You know I said your team and not you specifically, right? If I did your fangirls would be all up my ass” you chuckled, not wanting to imagine the rage of all the girls who adored Oikawa to an obsessive level.
Oikawa laughed, it was a genuine one, you always managed to surprise him, maybe you were more interesting than he thought in the beginning of the year.
Well, if he was being honest with himself he already knew that ever since you first caught his eye at his games, you were the only one that counted for him, the way you intently watched the ball and the players, he liked to imagine that you only watched and cheered for him and that thought, as stupid as it sounded, it spurred him on. He always played best when you were in the stands.
He thought he´d never see you again that one time he saw his fangirls push you to the side, which angered him, but he was quite surprised when he saw you fight back and show up at the next game earlier than them with a triumphant smile on your face.
Yes, you amused him, somehow you seemed to genuinely care, unlike his other fans, well, he couldn´t really call you a fan of him personally even though the thought of that was irresistible.
“They don´t stand a chance against you” he noted, meeting your eyes. Somehow he seemed livelier today, but you couldn´t figure out why, it vexed you.
“Because I will fight to the blood with them over you? Damn, you really do have a high opinion of yourself” you laughed, crossing your arms.
“You´re so mean, (Y/N)-chan!” he pouted.
“Poor Oikawa, should I call your fangirls so they can kiss it better?” you teased him, yes, you were very interesting indeed and it excited him.
“Call me Tooru, and I please don´t call them, I´d much rather spend time with you” he flirted with you, making you laugh out loud.
“I´d rather not, thank you very much” you remarked funnily, you wouldn´t fall for a guy like him, you´d only get hurt like that and you knew it.
“You´re breaking my heart, (Y/N)-chan!” he clutched his chest for dramatic effect.
“Oh boo hoo” you mocked him.
“I´m gonna make you fall for me, you´ll see” he stated, making you laugh even more.
“Good luck with that, seriously I´m rooting for you” you joked, not admitting defeat to a guy like him, having a crush on him was already bad enough but actually fall for him? Hell no. That would mean he´d have a great personality, not be an asshole and actually be able to care about someone other than himself, in other words: it´d be impossible.
In the next weeks he kept you updated on the following games he´d play, even going as far as inviting you to watch him train. Something you said yes to in hopes that his coach would say no.
Unlucky for you, he said it was okay as long as you didn´t distract him too much, to which you scoffed. As if you were able to distract him.
You brought your homework along with you and did it in the time the team warmed up.
“Goddammit, isn´t it enough for you to have girls watch you when we play? Do you really have to bring them here too now?” Iwaizumi noted disapprovingly, making Oikawa pout.
“Well, I´m only bringing her here. She´s different than the others, I like talking to her” he admitted.
“Oh my god, you actually like her, don´t you?” Iwaizumi laughed at his hopeless friend.
“Yes and I´m gonna make her like me too” he told him determinedly.
Iwaizumi laughed even louder now, making Oikawa pout and whine at him.
“That´s never gonna happen” Iwaizumi stated, shaking his head. His friend had many fangirls that adored him, yes, and he was good with his words too, but being in an actual relationship with him would never work out, he´d just get bored with the girl and honestly, she´d break up with him as soon as she realized how much time volleyball actually took in his life. So falling in love with Oikawa really was fruitless.
The coach announced that the training would now begin and you put your homework inside your bag and watched them play. It was so magical every time you did, it felt like nothing existed in the world besides the players, the ball and the net. It was amazing seeing how all of them worked so well together, how everything was connected.
It brought a smile to your face and if you were being honest with yourself your attention was more on Oikawa than on anyone else, you told yourself it was because he was the setter and therefore the most important part in the game, but deep inside of you, you knew better.
“You know, I hate to admit it but I don´t think your chances are that bad” Iwaizumi told Oikawa after the training was over and they were getting changed.
“What made you change your mind?” Oikawa asked.
“Didn´t you see the way she was smiling at you?” he said.
“I mean I did...but that doesn´t mean anything, right?” he asked hopefully.
“It didn´t look like it meant nothing...and it´s not like you to be so pessimistic” Iwaizumi noticed.
“I know, but I really want her to like me! And don´t you dare laugh at me because of that” Oikawa always got what he wanted, he wasn´t used to anything else but with you it was different. You actually made him fairly insecure about his flirting and charm, maybe he really wasn´t good enough. Why did he even try? Even if you happened to like him, which to Oikawa was impossible, you´d just leave him anyway. Maybe he should just give it up.
He hated those thoughts of his, but they were all blown away once he saw you waiting for him.
Iwaizumi already went on ahead.
“What are you still doing here? I thought you already left” Oikawa asked, it was unusual for him to be so down, you had to admit you were a bit worried about him.
“I wanted to wait for you so we could go home together...” you mumbled, choking back your pride. Maybe you did like him more than you thought, for a part of you it was the worst thing that could happen, but for another part of you it didn´t seem so bad suddenly.
With him looking so sad, you knew you could say something like this without being judged or teased.
“Really? That´s so sweet of you, (Y/N), I´d like that” he smiled at you softly, you didn´t know what it was but something about him changed. A whole lot. And it scared you. Did he have a bad day? What was the cause for his sudden mood change?
You didn´t want to press the matter and intrude his privacy like that so you two started walking alongside each other.
“I liked watching you train today, thanks for inviting me” you smiled up to him, startling him a bit.
“You can come watch more often if you´d like” he quietly said, it was more like a wish than an invitation.
“I´d love to, but I don´t think your coach would like it that much” you admitted, as much as you loved watching Oikawa, but you couldn´t help but feel like you didn´t belong there. After all the coach made it clear not to distract and disturb the boys. So you were trying your best to be quiet and unobtrusive. You didn´t want to risk getting on the coach´s nerves.
“Well, he can´t really say anything against it, he knows I play better when you´re around” he stated neutrally, but it still managed to make your heart jump.
“But how do you know that? Today was the first time I was in your training” you thought out loud.
Oikawa chuckled lightly. “Do you really think I didn´t notice you in the games?” he told you, making you blush. So he really was looking at you, you didn´t just imagine things. Somehow that made you feel really warm.
“Now, now, I thought you knew better than to get distracted by your fangirls in a game?” you grinned, lightening up the mood.
“You know I can´t help it when you stick out so much, (Y/N)-chan, how could I not notice you?” he flirted back, you were getting dizzy, he was way too good at this.
In the course of the next weeks you grew closer, you were allowed to watch him train more often and you two flirted more too, it was clear to see that something was definitely going on, the only question was when one of you would have the guts to confess.
Normally you would have wanted to tell him early on to have it out of the way, but every time you wanted to tell him, your throat went dry and you couldn´t get a word out.
Sometimes being around him was too much, you could get lost in his eyes forever and it happened more than once that the two of you were just gazing at each other without saying a word for multiple minutes.
The day of the next match was growing closer and you wanted to wait with your confession until it was over, but you couldn´t take it anymore. It was too much, you had to get it out.
So when you and Oikawa were going home together you breathed in and then stopped.
“Can you wait for a second, I need to tell you something” you gulped when he looked at you expectantly.
“Remember how you said you´d make me like you? Well, you succeeded. And I know now isn´t the right time, but I just couldn´t keep it to myself anymore” you spoke way too fast and watched Oikawa´s expression turn from curious to straight up shocked, it drained all color from your face, so he didn´t like you back...why ever that came as a surprise to you.
“Seriously? And it´s not because I´m good at volleyball or because of my looks?” he asked, a big smile on his face. You shook your head.
“First of all, you´re not only good at volleyball, you´re amazing, don´t sell yourself short. And I like you for you, your looks are just a bonus” you explained.
“You know, (Y/N), I´ve liked you for a while now, but I always thought it was just like a normal crush and that the feeling would go away, but the more time I spent with you, the stronger it got. I´m so happy you like me back” he announced, putting his arms around you and pulling you close to hug you.
You practically melted into it, clinging to him and resting your head on his chest.

Someone’s Hungry

Tumblr media
For the past few days Isaac had spent most of his time locked away in his room, working on his latest machine. His eyes were constantly glued on the technical book Comte de Saint-Germain brought for him from the future, claiming it was an advanced birthday present for him.
And Isaac couldn’t probably ask for more… other than for Arthur and Dazai to sod off somewhere they couldn’t interrupt him.
He almost dropped a wrench on a particularly fragile part of the machine when he heard a knock— not from the door— but from the blasted window.
“Aiiii-chaaan! Open uuuup!” Dazai waved enthusiastically at him. Isaac has been thinking for a while now how he would go on and ask Comte if he could have the room in the basement instead, being the most Dazai-proof room in the mansion due to the lack of windows. Sure, it’s not Arthur-proof, but that’s one less tease to deal with and more quiet time for him.
Isaac intended to ignore Dazai until he gave up, but snapped out of his thoughts when he heard another knock; this time from the door.
“Are you in there, Newt?” Isaac ran for the door in an attempt to lock it, but it was too late. Arthur chuckled as he watched the light die away from Isaac’s eyes.
“Oh, were you that excited to see me that you came running to open the door for me? My bad, shall we go over it again?”
“No thanks, I’d rather you keep your–” Isaac’s protest was cut short by a whine from the window.
“Not fair, Ai-chan! You can’t have fun without me!”
“By Jove! That’s not very nice of you now, is it Newt? We don’t want Dazai freezing to death outside now, do we?” Arthur said as he opened the window, letting his partner in crime in. Isaac slumped on the floor, precursors of an incoming headache already assaulting him.
The next time Comte travels to the future, Isaac would definitely build up the courage to ask him for one of those anti break-in technologies he read about on another book.
“Ai-chan, are you alright? You must be really hungry for you to be down on the floor like that.” Dazai is obviously holding something behind him, and if only Isaac could earn some timeout from the two men if he guessed correctly what it was every time, he would probably have a century’s worth of peaceful, Arthur-and-Dazai-free time all to himself.
“Mm-hmm. I agree. Newt has been doing nothing but tinker with that piece of metal over there.” His comment earned him a frown from Isaac.
“Is that so? Good thing I always come prepared.” Dazai then proceeded to dramatically present what he had been hiding behind. “Behold! The biggest apple I have seen in my life… next to Ai-chan, that is!” To be fair, the apple was indeed of remarkable size and the scientist himself had to wonder if it is one of those genetically modified fruits that also came from the future.
Isaac snarled. “Alas! What do you two have against me that you find the need to constantly pester me?”
The smile on Dazai’s face grew even wider. “Pester? Arthur, is that the physics equivalent of ‘look after’?”
“I don’t know. Newt here must be really hungry if he’s starting to mix up his words.”
Isaac sighed in defeat. He got up and went back to his machine and proceeded to ignore the two.
“No fun, Newt. Humor us a little more, will you?” Arthur pouted as he tried to steal the scientist’s attention, but to no avail.
“Hey Arthur, I have an idea…” Dazai whispered something to Arthur. After a few moments of whispering back and forth, the pair finally left the room.
“Ah, finally. Some peace and quiet.” Isaac found it suspicious that his pester-duo would leave just like that, but nonetheless he hurried to lock the door as soon as he had ascertained they were out of the hallway.
---------------
It was around past dinner time that Isaac heard another knock on his door, followed by Le Comte’s voice.
“Isaac, it’s me. Can I bother you with opening the door, I’m afraid my hands are full at the moment.”
Isaac found it strange the Le Comte would personally drop by so he immediately complied, and the scent that assaulted him as soon as he opened the door had him knitting his brows. It was at that moment that he realized that he had been too absorbed in his new machine that he ended up skipping his meals. His eyes darted to what Le Comte had on the food tray. It was a ridiculously large apple pie.
“Don’t tell me…”
“I’m afraid it is. Your brothers— no, I meant Arthur and Dazai made it for you.” Le Comte had an amused expression as he let himself in and set down the tray on Isaac’s nightstand.
Isaac couldn’t help the wry smile upon hearing Le Comte’s slip of tongue. “Not you too, Comte…”
“You’re doing great on this machine, Isaac.” Le Comte complimented him on his work. “Unfortunately, we can’t release any of these in public. This is something that comes from the future, after all.”
“I am well aware of that.”
Le Comte took a quick glance of everything in his room, a small smile on his face as he did so. “In any case, I am truly glad you are enjoying your stay here. On the other hand, while I would agree that losing yourself in the things you are passionate about truly is a great feeling, I would not recommend you skipping on your meals. You may not realize your hunger at the moment, but when you do, you know that it can be quite… inconvenient, especially in your case, Isaac.”
Isaac looked away in embarrassment. “…You may be right.”
Le Comte gave him a look that says 'Of course you know I am,’ before walking away. “I am glad we are clear on that. Enjoy your meal, Isaac. Sebastian will be here shortly to deliver you your rogue.”
After Le Comte had gone, Isaac looked over at the large apple pie on the tray. Upon closer inspection, he found the words 'Happy Birthday’ written in apple sauce.
“It’s nice of them to remember what I myself have forgotten… but, am I… really supposed to finish this all by myself?” Isaac thought to himself as he took a slice, and soon he found himself digging in to the pie that was surprisingly good. He surprised even himself with how fast he finished the entire plate, given how bigger than an average apple pie it is.
---------------
Later, when Sebastian came to fetch him his rogue, the butler was looking a little crestfallen.
“Are you alright?” Isaac asked as he put back the now empty bottle of rogue.
Sebastian helped prepare the apple pie and had been secretly looking forward to helping himself to a slice, but he never thought that Isaac could actually finish the whole thing in one sitting.
“It’s nothing, just a little tired perhaps.” Sebastian lied, but nonetheless he was glad that Isaac liked it. After all, he has never seen Arthur and Dazai that passionate about preparing food before. He was about to leave the room when Isaac called out to him.
“Sebastian.”
“Yes?”
Isaac looked away as he mumbled. “Send... them... my regards.”

Hi so this is my first time writing a fic for Ikemen Vampire, and this is the fic I had been referencing on my tags on this post I made earlier. Anyway I got into this game around three weeks ago, and as such I don’t have an in-depth knowledge about the characters, and have read only one route so far so I would like to apologize for any OOC-ness here, but hey it’s a fanfic lol.

"Golden Time" & "Last Call" Meta
You know the deal: Destiel and Saileen positive, so don’t like don’t read.
Hi! So, long story short, the two weeks after “Golden Time” I had so much homework I was sleeping an average of, like, 3 hours a day, didn’t have time to write meta. And when I finally had time, “Last Call” was airing the next day, so I kinda gave up and decided not to do a meta on 15x06. BUT BOY, last chapter just wrapped everything I wanted to say about the previous chapter, so I decided I´m just gonna mix both here.
I know it sound crazy, but trust me, I kinda have a point here.
First, we got back Eileen. I’m ecstatic about that. We needed the comeback of a female character and I’m so glad that is my BAMF girl. I love her. Now, you know my theories for the writers choosing Eileen as the character to bring back from the dead, if not they are here. But this time I became overwhelmed with fear that I didn’t knew why she was brought back inside the story, because this is writing inside of writing.
Like, we know that Chuck is controlling the story again (I´ll deepen in the ambiguity of how in charge he is in a minute) to some degree. Chuck decided to make Eileen appear, he decided to give Sam a half-done ritual he could use to bring her back. And that scares me, because Sam being happy (As he is with Eileen being domestic and adorable, my heart can´t handle them being this cute istg) isn’t what he wants for the endgame. So why bring her back at all?
And then, there is the fact that Chuck was… suspiciously absent in these two episodes. I mean, in “Atomic Monsters” we saw Chuck getting back into writing. In “Proverbs 17:3” we had Lilith directly address Chuck plan to some degree, for she was part of it. The fact that both MOTW were so… plain, and that fit so well with Becky´s complaining, we are being told that this is Chuck writing, everything is.
But then we have 15x06 and 15x07 and… nothing? I mean, yes, they are looking for them or whatever, but I feel like we lost this feeling of impending doom and helplessness that Chuck was making every move. Why?
It’s because Chuck isn’t as shitty writer as the last chapters were. I mean, Supernatural has mistakes and a little of oocness here and there, but it’s a good story, and it is Chuck’s. He can write things that doesn´t feel forced or scripted, he just was shaking the remains of that writer’s block. I think these two episodes were still written totally by him. After I reached that conclusion, everything made sense again.
Going back to the end of “Proverbs 17:3” we have a pretty fucked up situation. Dean is totally hopeless and broken, Sam is overwhelmed by everyone they have lost, from Jess to Rowena, and Cas is AWOL. That… isn´t a good place for main characters to be if you wanna write an epic ending, specially one as dramatic as the one Chuck wants. It’s like kicking someone who is already knocked out. So what did Chuck do?
He got everyone back in the game.
Dean gave up? Remind him of why he fights. Righter of wrongs. No matter who many years passed, Dean is the Righteous Man. “Why do you care so much, Dean?” “Because someone has to.” / “Then you fix it. You don´t walk away, you fight for it.” / “You really want to do this?” “No I don´t, but I kill monsters.”
We saw someone who was like Dean, but took another path, became a monster. Dean isn´t like that. He doesn’t walk away. And you got him back on the game.
Sam is overwhelmed with grief of the people the have lost in the last 15 years? Then let´s bring back someone. Let´s give him hope he can win, that not everyone they come across is damned to die. And what says hope as a pure, innocent love? Chuck knows his tropes.
And just like that, he's back on the game.
Castiel… this is has being bothering me for days, not gonna lie to you. It's clear that Cas has no place in Chuck’s ending, He hasn't appear in Sam’s visions, his doll wasn’t in the desk where Chuck was writing, and the “No one even mentions Cas” line was supposed to bring out attention to that very fact.
Then why bring him back to the game? I know that we have this collective theory as a fandom right now, where Cas is the key to freewill, and that the reason Chuck doesn´t want him there is because he keeps going out of script. But there has to be more to Chuck feelings on Cas because, quoting him, “I´ve rebuild Castiel more times that I can count.”
If he truly thought that Cas was a danger to his story, he would have stayed dead. We know that Chuck doesn’t control 100% of the actions, because if he did Dean would have killed Jack, and Sam wouldn´t have shot him. Is he the reason Cas just comes and goes? Why hasn´t he killed him as he has killed literally everyone else? Does Cas is so out of his control he can´t kill him in the story? Then why not snap him like he did with Jack? To which extent he wrote things? Was he being truthful in his surprise back in s4 with his “You´re not supposed here. You're not in this story” and Cas´ subsequent “Yeah, well... We´re making it up as we go”?
I´m with Dean in this, it is driving me crazy not knowing what´s God and what isn´t.
But my point here was that this, at least, is Chuck's doing. The fact that his determination comes at the same time that Dean and Sam´s is too perfect for it to be a coincidence.
Cas honestly came back out of spite. I mean, he did just lost friends, and his son, and his ex-boybest friend, and his other best friend because he is brother of the guy he just broke up with… and everything, just so you tell him God is still out there messing with their lives.
I would be kinda worried if he wasn´t angry.
And now he just goes to the bunker, and without even saying hi to Sam (I think he only greeted Eileen) he just throws this plan that he knows is dangerous for Sam and it´s like “okay let´s do it”. And okay, obviously Sam would be on board, he trusts Cas, but not even discussing the risk? What happened with “Nothing is worth losing you”?
But then it hit me, that was also Chuck. He needed to go quickly, make all of this before Dean came back. Go straight to the point.
He is setting himself up as the big baddie. He could have gone under the radar and work from the shadows, but he sent Lilith so they knew he was back. And know he set the bait and they think they have a chance to beat him. Now he can start working towards his end.
And that could be another reason to bring Cas back, right? Yes, as a device plot for Sam to get into Chuck´s head, but also as a tool for emotional instability, for both brothers yes, but specially for Dean.
He knows how broken and alcoholic and reckless and suicidal Dean gets when Cas dies. He wrote s7 and s13. An easy way to break him without killing Sam, for he needs both brothers for the Gran Finale.
Or if he decides to go for the Demon!Dean path, then he needs to kill Cas before he kills Sam because the Abel-Cain-Colette/Sam-Dean-Cas parallel. Or maybe have Demon Blood!Sam kill him so Dean gets the resolve to kill him. Basically, a device for angst.
Same, I suppose, as he plans to do with Eileen. Kill her in the right moment.
But in Castiel´s case, I do still think Chuck wants to kill him before he can mess his plan, so I feel his death a lot more imminent. Or I think it would be better to say that I do expect him to die at all, after all we still have all this Empty plot unresolved. Eileen is on Chuck´s plan, but I don´t think she will die. After all, is practically a confirmed fact that the end of Supernatural is a happy one. Maybe not he happiest, but happy, and poor girl being brought back and killed again in the same season is too much.
Next chapter we are getting Adam/Micheal back and… I don´t know what to do with that information. I know I just said that everything until now is Chuck´s script, but I do think it is a posibility that he just had forgotten about Adam/Micheal (I’m sorry but I mean, the “you let me rot in hell” is too personal to be Micheal, but I don´t see how Adam could possibly still be a functional human, so I don´t even know who are we gonna see). And this Micheal didn´t did the whole Apocalypse thing with God no coming back, so I´m not sure that he will be angrier at Him that at the Winchesters. I don´t know what´s gonna happen.
Obviously, there will be some ground to the midseason finale of a plan to beat Chuck that won´t work and make us all be at the edge of our sits in despair in March or something, but more precisely? I don´t know. I know there are some theory about Cas dying, and that Dean´s prayers in 15x09 will wake him in the Empty, and I like it, but I don´t think there is enough evidence to support it. So, I think the only thing we have left is wait and see.

some thoughts on s7
this ended up me kind of rambling about my thoughts and feelings on s7 that are all over the place, so please bear with me if these thoughts don’t seem too well organized or anything:
now, before i even actually saw the season, i was just snooping around here on tumblr to see what ppl’s reactions were, and i kind of let it get to the better of me. some people were just over dramatizing what was happening in s7, and their negativity on the season made me believe that i would wholeheartedly dislike the season. i saw all the posts with people going on about how if youre still watching the show, you should immediately drop it (and it was mainly centered around few central complaints going around right now, pretty sure you can figure that out on your own on what that was). it was understandable on where the frustration was stemming from. i only got 3 hours of sleep because of what people were saying despite not even seeing the season for myself and seeing how events would ultimately play out. but like they would always say, you shouldn’t let other people’s judgement affect you, and it really shouldn’t be the determining factor on how you view things or how your opinions are formed.
when i watched the season, my general reaction to it was that its “ok”, i didn’t think it was entirely and absolutely terrible. i already know how a lot of us didn’t like the way a few characters got treated. i mainly thought that the animation looked nicer and improved in some of the action scenes. the writing was kind of “meh” for me when it came to whatever certain plot points that got introduced or continued. watching it on my own actually removed any thoughts of me disliking/hating the season entirely.
even though i say this, the things i mention here are mainly about some issues that kept being brought up by people and circled around ever since s7 got released.
in terms of character development? besides what we’ve been given for hunk, which has been awesome so far (i dont really feel like i have much to go in depth with for this, its already self explanatory in the season itself), i guess its going somewhere. i’ve got some hope, but it’s not on the level where its overwhelmingly high and optimistic. everyone’s been talking about the lack of actual lance development, how he’s constantly being reduced to being the “dumb” one, but we actually see him take initiative when needed. lance has been shown to stepping up and taking his role into account when handed the opportunity to do so, and it was multiple times when lance was given the re-established position of keith’s right-hand man. despite whatever remarks keith made on lance, whether or not they were supposed to come off as teasing/joking for the audience, keith does still seem to believe in lance’s capabilities. if he didn’t, keith wouldn’t have trusted lance the task on leading their team on their mission(s). lance actually got scenes where he could shine off as being portrayed more than what he’s constantly being insulted as. there are still some scenes of them showing mutual trust and respect for each other, especially with lance voting for keith during “the feud” and the reasoning he gave. but yeah, some parts it did seem like keith was kind of ooc in certain episodes when comparing his personality back to s3. who knows why keith gave the reasoning he did when he voted for lance. EDIT: acoolemocucumber’s post makes a good note on pointing out how during the voting section, keith is actually the first one to start writing. it’s later revealed that he chose lance on first pick. lance was the second to finish. even though he was peeking over at hunk and pidge to see who they chose, he instead decides to choose keith. keith choosing lance as a first choice without pure hesitance is amazing to see, and it really shows he trusts and respects lance a lot despite the reasoning he gave. then again, actions speak louder than words and countless times keith has shown to be that kind of guy by relaying a lot of important tasks to lance throughout this season.
i’ll do say that i enjoyed most of the scenes they shared when they had to take a leading initiative with each other though. that was pretty nice to see again, and it felt like a decade since i ever saw that kind of dynamic from those two.
there were a lot of action packed scenes, and i watched through those entirely to see if there’s any important plot detail to know, or make note of, while watching the ep to make sure i wouldnt be lost with whats happening so far. some people found it boring, some people found the fight scenes amazing and stunning. certain scenes had me really amazed on how well it was animated, some other scenes not so much in terms of repetition, and thats kind of bound to happen if we’re provided an arc where its continuing to keep the tense vibes on the recurring events with the current situation of the season.
this is just merely my take on it, (my memory’s not the best with how much information im recalling from those 13 episodes) but it kind of felt lackluster with how the paladins barely got any kind of break where they could seriously spend one episode on unwinding, having in-depth conversations one on one, and not be so worried about the galra all the time. sure, there’s a few scenes like that in a few episodes, but it didn’t seem enough to make it feel like it balanced out whatever conflicts or character issues were newly or constantly introduced.
ive read posts already about how some people had liked the season a lot, loved the actions scenes and all. but to me, some conflicts that took place seemed out of place or just didn’t really align well (idk how else to phrase it) especially with adam’s death, and i had minor mixed feelings about ep “the journey within”.
about adam, it just seemed out of place and rushed for them to introduce shiro’s s/o only for them to take him away. we don’t get to see how fleshed out adam could’ve been, and i’ve already seen the frustration/rage people had with adam being killed off when considering how the creators told the viewers that they were gonna get to see adam, but weren’t told how long we’ll see him (plus the entire thing abt lgbt rep that was promised?). the thing with adam left me on a weird note, mainly because if you were just given no other info besides the info from the season, you wouldn’t even be given too explicit information about the relationship shiro had with adam. from there, it felt like there was no point in adding adam into the story if the viewers aren’t given clear information on what kind of bond shiro and adam had besides adam saying that they’ve been through a lot together (or whatever he said, idr it too much) and the “how important am i to you” line for lgbt rep points. its just pretty vague “””representation””” thats just leaving the audience to make the most out of what they’re given. we’re only given confirmation that they used to be fiancés from what they said in panels/interviews, but never in the show. im not sure what to really think about that, my mind’s just kind of in the void when i think about it. but this part i structured kind of badly and i apologize for that, but hopefully those of you can get what im saying.
as for “the journey within”, it was reasonable for the way characters acted; theyre all tired, frustrated, and losing hope and were floating in space waiting for nothing but at least something to happen. keith snaps, gets irritated at everyone, lance is also the one to lash back out at keith saying keith ran away, giving the audience a big sign that lance was hurt by keith’s disappearance/leave from the team. but for keith to quickly later on go take everything back in just a few minutes seemed really awkward for me. its a kids show and all, but i just kind of didn’t like how that one section of that episode was written ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just a feeling i had with it. however, i did love how hunk took a lot of the initiative during the episode, it’s showing his growth of actually him continuing to fully accept his role as a paladin and determined to not back down regardless of his own cowardice that could prevent him from doing so at any time.
and there’s the thing about k/acx: ive already seen a bunch of people going somewhere along the lines of disbelief, anger, frustration on how keith is getting het endgame but when i saw the episodes, his interactions with acxa didn’t even seem borderline romantic to me at all? to me, i merely saw 2 characters actually getting on better terms with each other and returning the favor. the two no longer see each other as enemies but allies now. keith only went back to save acxa because it seemed like he believed that he felt in debt to acxa for trying to save his team. ezor and zethrid merely poked fun at acxa, but if you consider previous seasons where acxa and keith interacted, the two just continued to return the favor of owing whatever debt they had for each other. it didn’t seem like there was any romantic tension intended in any of the scenes where they interacted. we already know acxa betrayed ezor and zethrid by switching sides, and if you were betrayed you’re bound to make at least a  remark on whoever betrayed you either way. in this case, ezor and zethrid found it reasonable to make a comment on acxa’s alliance with keith, hence how they teased acxa possibly crushing on keith (whether or not thats actually confirmed, its just left ambiguous and up for interpretation at that point). there’s the parallel with how they animated the shot between keith and acxa talking to each other, but neither did that one seem romantic to me? i hope im not the only one who thought that? the other scene people talked about was when acxa is in the same scene where keith was present when he visits his dad’s grave with krolia. i dont get why some people were upset about that either. even though its at the last ep of s7, there’s nothing to imply that keith invited acxa to go visit his dad’s grave with him or anything if you consider their placement in the scene. if keith did care about acxa’s presence being there when he visited the grave, wouldn’t he at least acknowledge acxa’s presence by showing obvious attention to her, or have her close to where him and krolia were? she remains distant but respectful of keith in the scene. i dont see where these scenes would imply keith automatically finds a romantic interest in acxa. acxa to keith? maybe, we don’t entirely know. keith to acxa? i dont see it being implied anywhere at all. not to mention keith’s “can’t we just fight” statement right after ezor and zethrid teased acxa about having a romantic interest in keith. again, its just my take on what’s being presented and my own thoughts on how people are viewing it.
and with a/l, it leaves me on a bad note with how its progressing if its really getting the sealed deal endgame. like most people have been saying, it would be good for them to be endgame if they were only written better. am i entirely convinced theyre endgame? not really because there’s that small chance where vld pulls a 180 and the show creators stay true to their words on lance not being a rebound, lance being someone’s first choice, lance getting what he needs, not what he wants. what’s being given/presented so far is just bad writing with how allura suddenly reciprocates feelings for lance out of nowhere despite showing consistent disinterest in lance’s advances in previous seasons. s4 and onward we see her seeing lance more than just an annoying flirt, and the two become better friends who could genuinely talk to each other without having allura annoyed with lance’s flirtatious antics, and without lance being reduced to a constant flirt. during allura’s interest in lotor, we’re yet again presented how allura doesn’t return feelings for lance, especially during the scene when the mice told her about lance’s feelings for her back in s6. she seems rather disappointed, pitiful, or uncomfortable with knowing how lance genuinely liked her when she liked lotor during that time. later on, allura’s been out of her previous love interest with lotor, and hasn’t shown returned much of the same interest in lance. sure, she hugged lance and he returned the hug, but that only seemed necessary in the moment for when allura had felt betrayed by someone she wholeheartedly trusted and fell in love with. she needed comfort from someone and the person she spoke to was lance who was able to lend her some comforting words. but that was about it. i’d like to say that considering that this is a kids show, it does give a bad incentive for children to develop on believing that if they continue to force their feelings onto someone else, the person they’re interested in will eventually like them back out of the blue, which is the worst course of action to take despite being rejected countless times (and its kind of being shown with what a/l has right now). to take this kind of scenario and to fix/put it with good writing would to just properly depict lance accepting rejection and allura staying true to her previous feelings on not reciprocating his feelings. in a general sense, we all know that we can’t always get what we want, and that’s an important moral that always gets taught over and over again even if youre a child or an adult. rejection and acceptance of the rejection is something that can be taught here through the romantic subplot they’ve been having. just deciding that they should become endgame out of nowhere would leave the writing very dull. having allura get out of her previous love interest with lotor only to quickly move onto lance just doesn’t leave off on a good note. it just reduces lance to a rebound and that’s about it.
the writing for me wasn’t really that breathtaking, overwhelming, or emotional or anything when it came to new plot points being presented (you know, all the fight scenes, galaxy garrison, that stuff). again, a lot of things seemed pretty rushed, i had mixed feelings for some but not all episodes. it was nice to see mostly everyone united back with their families and characters developing new motives for what they believe in doing. yet, the writing kind of just wasn’t on the level of where it actually gets me really interested and invested into the storyline like how it had back in s1 to early s3. i’ll still mention how the writing did it’s part in presenting development for hunk, though. i enjoyed that a lot.
some parts of the writing were questionable, some parts of the season were enjoyable, but it wasn’t entirely overwhelmingly disappointing for me. the season was on the bare minimum on having the writing go “decent”, but again it felt pretty “meh” and this is just my own feelings on it. people have their own opinions, frustrations, concerns, questions, some people loved it, some people severely hated it or just felt extremely disappointed.
the season has its peaks and lows, some pros and cons, but whatever you take from it is what you believe.
i’ll still keep watching the show to see how it ends, that’s for sure.

Stop Being Stubborn ||| QUINN & SANTANA
TAGGING: Quinn Fabray & Santana Lopez ( @misslimaheights )
TIME FRAME: August 04, 2018
LOCATION: New York’s Private Hospital
NOTES: Santana visits Quinn after she wakes up from her coma.
WARNINGS: There are triggers in this self-para. Please, think about yourself before you open it. OOC before IC! Hospital TW, Drugs TW, Alcohol TW, ETC.
Santana got everything settled with Brittany and Aria before heading off to the hospital. She spent the morning training an assistant and he was still following her around. For now, Julien was her assistant and it was nice. “Stay here,” She told him before knocking lightly on the door. She waited to hear the come in before making her way in. “Hey,” she did not like seeing Quinn hurt but she was alive and that is what mattered… she would not cry, she refused to cry.
Quinn just wanted to leave the hospital. She just wanted to go back home, relax and rest as much as possible, and then get back into work. The blonde should start filming next week, but now, here she was, in a hospital room. When someone knocked in her room on that afternoon, she was hoping that it would be the doctor but no, it was Santana. "Oh, it's you..." She said surprised. The very first days in the hospital were lonely, but now, tons of people were finally stopping by, and she hated to admit it, but she loved the attention. "Shouldn't you be with your family?"
Santana expected that response, she expected Quinn to be cold towards her. Especially because she waited so long to come to see her. “I wanted to give you some time, they were only letting the family in for a while.” She walked over to the chair next to Quinn’s bed and sat down, “and yes I should but we’re all worried about you. Brittany would be here if she wasn’t ill, I dropped Aria off at daycare.” She was trying to speak matter of factly, afraid to break down in front of Quinn. “I came today because I needed to see you, I needed to see my friend… my family.” God, she felt the tears coming and she turned her head away slightly. “I’ve been so scared, Quinn, scared you wouldn’t make it. I kept my distance because I couldn’t-” She broke down.
Quinn was not expecting that. She was not expecting Santana to break down, not there, not in front of her. And right now, she had no idea what she should do. She was not used to having Santana so fragile in front of her. She wanted to just stand up and hug her, but she couldn't. "I... Santana... Don't cry." She said as she looked around and tried to figure out a way to comfort her. "Don't cry, please."
Santana rubbed at her face and slowly got up and made her way over to Quinn. She carefully leaned in to hug her, careful not to hurt her. “I love you so much, damn it and I don’t know how to process all of this.” She pressed a kiss to her forehead, twice, “One from me and one for Britt,” She sighed and pulled away slightly. She wanted to say she was sorry a hundred times but she couldn’t, she was both sorry and not sorry. “You’re our best friend, Britt wants to be here so bad but she is so sick. Aria can’t even be in the same room as her, I would have brought her but I didn’t want her to see you so hurt.”
Quinn was a little uncomfortable with the hug, as always. She never knows how to respond to human contact, but as soon as she got used to it, she relaxed and smiled at the hug. Quinn loved when people showed love, of course, even if it took her a few to get used to the human contact. "There is nothing to process, Santana. I had a small accident, but I am going to be fine. It was nothing." She said, once again, not paying much attention to her accident. She hated when people would lose their lives, or stop doing what they were doing because of her. She hated it so badly! "See? Your family needs you, go home, be with them. And send my kisses and hugs to both Brittany and Aria."
Santana’s eyes went wide before narrowing into slits. Small accident? Nope, don’t freak out, don’t freak out. “It was more than a small accident but I’m not going to argue with you. I’m not here to debate things or cause you stress, I just came to see you.” She realized that Quinn wanted to get rid of her, or maybe it was something else? She didn’t know but she wasn’t ready to leave just yet. “Small accident,” She mumbled under her breath and huffed, “I will give them all my love when I’m done with you. You’re not getting rid of me just yet, so-” She placed a kiss on her forehead and smiled. “Deal with me for at least another few minutes.” She stayed close but gave her some space.
"It's not that I am trying to get rid of you, I just don't want you to waste your time here with me, when you could be with them." Quinn shrugged and sighed out. "It was a small accident. I mean, yes, it was dramatic and I could have... I mean, I kind of dead in reality. But I am getting better now." She shrugged. "I don't like when people waste their time with me, with visiting me."
Another few calming breaths to steady herself, she didn’t understand how Quinn could be so blase about almost dying? She wasn’t going to cause her any stress, she would yell at her later- when she was past recovery. “Being here with you is not a waste of time. My friend was in a serious car accident and I want to be there for her. I’ve known you for a very long time, almost ten years.” She took both of her hands and ran them through her hair in frustration.
Was Santana getting frustrated? Oh no no, she was going to start screaming... In Spanish, right? Quinn bites down her lip as she looked up at Santana and nervously she shrugged her shoulders. "Are you going to start screaming in Spanish? Because I don't think I can take that yet. And not in a hospital..." She admitted and just shrugged again. "I just hate when people have to change their routines because of me."
“No, I’m not going to start screaming in Spanish, that comes later when you are fully healed and I can enjoy it.” She smirked and straightened herself up, “I got a bunch of things to do but I wanted to stop by and check on my friend. I always have things to do, it’s my job to constantly be moving and doing things.” Santana had her phone on vibrate, it was going off constantly but she was ignoring it- because Quinn is important. “This change of routine is not a big deal, because you matter more than anything else right now. Instead of standing in a hospital, I could be by your graveside and I am not okay with that image. I love you too much, it would break me and- and I need a change of subject before I start crying again.” She grabbed a tissue from a side table and dabbed at her eyes.
"No, you shouldn't scream in Spanish, point!" Quinn pointed out. She hated when Santana got like that because it was very scary, and the last thing she wanted was to have someone else being angry at her. Wait... Santana was one of those that got mad at her when she first woke up. When Santana said that she could be by her graveside, Quinn's eyes opened widely. Now she really thought about it, about how dangerous it was, about how she could be dead right now and sighed out, "I am not. I am here, and I won't go anywhere. Just probably with Saphira on a trip, nothing more." She shrugged with a tiny giggle to try and make Santana smile too. “Also… Are you happy? I mean, with the baby? St. Berry’s child?”
“No, I really shouldn’t but sometimes I can’t help it.” She pointed back and dabbed at her eyes, trying to keep her makeup in place. She always wore waterproof mascara but she didn’t want to have tear stained cheeks. “I’m not going to lecture you on the situation because I’m sure Saph has done that already. Point is, you could have gone somewhere and I can’t think about that right now.” When Quinn asked about St. Berry baby, she knew this was a stressful topic about to arise. “Rachel will be getting an earful about keeping things from me- again, in the near future. As for the baby, she wasn’t planning on this to happen but it did- which means I have to talk to her producers and it’s a whole thing. Also, I’m not going to talk about this with you- because you need to remain calm and stress-free. One of us should be stress-free,” Santana gave her a smile.
"But it's scary! I hope you don't scream in Spanish when you are around your daughter, Santana. You will get the little one all scared of you." Quinn pointed out, just trying to make Santana smile with her stupid jokes, just not wanting to see her best friend crying. "I was dead. Saphira told me that. They had to actually bring me back. I have some... Scars... All over my body. And marks from when they tried to bring me back to life on my chest. It's a little... Excuse me the words, fucked up." She said with a sad face on. Now she had two marks on her chest from when they tried to make her breathe again, they said those marks would be gone soon, but still. She sighed out when Santana said that about the baby, and about Rachel and just nodded her head and looked down, showing how sad she was about all this.
“Quinn, I don’t yell or scream around my daughter. At least she hasn’t seen my brand of crazy yet,” She could see the smile on Quinn’s face and shook her head, “Not funny, Fabray,” She didn’t get a chance to joke back, not when Quinn started to talk so nonchalantly about death. Santana felt her chest tightened, she was dead, she had stopped breathing and now- “Why would you tell me that, what on earth makes you think I want to hear that?” She yelled, “I can’t with you, you're sitting there talking about death as if it’s nothing.”
Quinn's machines started to beep like crazy, only showing that all this was causing her some stress. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, "Could you... Could you please just... Shhh." She whispered as she tried to control herself and her own breathing. And once she was stable enough and the machines were back to normal, she looked up at Santana and gave her a tiny smile. "I am fine. I am here! I am trying to make jokes about this because I don't want anyone to cry about it. I am alive, we should celebrate it, and not think about what could have happened."
Santana stood up and tried to get herself under control, “I can’t hear about your near-death experience, I can’t- not right now. It’s still fresh and I’m still trying to handle it and not fall apart.” She walked closer to Quinn and looked down at her. “I care about you too much, I can’t think of you that way.” Leaning in, she pressed a kiss to Quinn’s forehead. “Trust me, I’m glad you’re okay and that is all I need to know.”
Quinn sighed out and just shook her head, “I am okay now.” She whispered softly once Santana kissed her forehead, “I am getting better and trust me, nothing will ever stop me from annoying you.” She giggled softly, and cupped Santana’s cheek with her good hand and kissed her forehead this time. “But, I don’t want you to ever again, stop doing whatever you were doing because I got in trouble.”
Santana couldn’t understand why she was still making light of what happened? “You better not stop but you making light of what happened, that needs to stop. You need to come to terms with what happened and not pretend everything is okay.” She leaned in and gave her a kiss back, sighing. “And you also need to deal with everyone loving you. I’d hope everyone would do the same for me, Quinn, it’s a normal response to worry.”
"Okay, I am sorry. I was just trying to... You know, I don't know. I was trying to make you feel a little bit better because I am in fact better." Quinn said with a sigh as she took Santana's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I am not trying to pretend everything is okay because it's not. I had the cops coming over as soon as I was awake to ask me questions, to see if I remembered something. This is not funny or something light, but we have to try and pretend it is, or else, we will end up getting depressed. I can't keep living my life all sad because of this accident." She said with a sigh. "It's normal to worry, but not normal to drop everything on the other side of the world to come to NY just to see me."
“I guess,” She didn’t see things the same way as Quinn but it was pointless to argue. “I’m just glad you’re okay,” She took a breath and plopped back down in the chair. “I was In Ohio, it’s not a huge deal. The furthest two out was Smythe and Hunter but they care about you,” Santana checked her phone and sighed, “I just want you to take it seriously, more than you have been.”
"San... Please, try not to stress out." Quinn sighed out when the only response she got was a simple 'I Guess'. She shook her head and shrugged, "I am better than I was yesterday so, I think that is good?" She smiled and just took Santana's hand and tangled their fingers together. "I don't want you all to worry about me. I am getting there, I am getting better. With time, I am getting out of here and I will be bothering you all again." She giggled softly, and sighed out, "I am taking it seriously, trust me. I am just trying to cheer you all up."
“I appreciate you trying to make us feel better, but you don’t have to do that.” She looked up and smiled, giving her hand a squeeze. “Also, I live in the world of stress. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t stressed- and that has nothing to do with you. Work, mostly- thank god I have an amazing team who handles things for me.”
"So, that has to do with me too. I mean, let's be honest, Rachel and I are causing you a lot of drama. And more is coming if she decides that she really wants to be with me." Quinn said with a sweet smile, she was hoping that Rachel wouldn't change her mind. This whole accident was a mess, but after Rachel's visit, everything looked so much clear in her head, she was just hoping that she was not making movies in her head.
“That’s the problem with the two of you, you always think it’s about you. Sure, this whole cheating thing isn’t ideal but I have other stresses. I run an entire business, I have people who I pay and people who pay me. I have at least thirty clients,” Santana stood up and started to pace, “A few permanent clients and the rest are all temp-workers. I also do freelance things, where I hire people for other people to get jobs done. HBIC isn’t just in the entertainment business, you think I can live off of Berry’s salary? You know me, I have expensive tastes and those cannot be ignored.” Santana smirked.
Quinn sighed out and shook her head, "That was not what I meant." She pointed out, "I was just saying that maybe you were stressed out because of what we did, because of the cheating." She shrugged, "I know you have your own life everything out of the Berry's world, but you know what I was trying to say." She shrugged, "You have expensive tastes, even more, when it comes to my cars." She laughed loudly.
“Yes, you and Berry are very stressful but it’s only a small blip in my entire world.” She sighed as her phone beeped again, this time she silenced it. “I was told not to stress you out, so I will refrain from making a sex in your car joke.” Santana walked closer and gave her another kiss. “I love you, Fabray, you get better- okay? Just stop being so stubborn and be safe.”
Quinn nodded her head as she kissed Santana's cheek a kiss and just smiled, "I will be safe, and I will, for sure, learn how to take care of myself too. Also, if anything, I can always call my sister, and she will be here to help me. Go, and please, take care of you and of your family." She pointed out with a smile. "And send a kiss to your girls!"

Hey, what are your top 3 (or 5, if you’re up for it) plots/character dynamics that would’ve made OUAT more interesting but that the writers either didn’t do/tried to do but screwed up royally
Wow, Nonny, I think this might be the best ask I’ve ever gotten (or tied with the one about Regina sending all the random guests at the Captain Swine wedding home with their hearts in favor baggies) and I’ve had some great ones.
And I was going to mull it over as usual and give it the respect it deserves but if I do that it’s going in my drafts and won’t be answered for weeks if ever and will be six thousand words long. So I’m just gonna half-ass it. [Editorial note: it has now been more than a week since I wrote those words and I have been half-assing it in draft all that time. And it STILL got long as hell. This is why no one sends me asks. :-( Sorry, Anon.]
Top 5 characters/character dynamic missed opportunities:
-- First and foremost forever, everything having to do with Neal. Papafire, Fire Believer, Floof Family, Swanfire, Neal/Regina coparenting...every plot since would have been improved, more organic and more interesting by adding Neal. Neal and Emma going back in time and BOTH meeting their parents? Rumple’s Rampage with Neal around--and Neal being the one to banish him? The Dark Two costarring the Dark One’s son? Which wouldn’t have ended with Emma being upstaged in her own story by her Stu boyfriend, but given her the sacrificial moment she deserved.
-- Regina’s love life: With all due respect to OQ, that should have ended the moment Marian was brought back, and Regina’s next and permanent love interest should have been a villain for her to bring back to the light. Hook, if he was kept around after Neverland (the both of them rebounding after Swanfire and Robin/Marian reunited, but growing into something more); Maleficent (written to be a little more bitter/less reformed); Jafar coming off OUATIW (bringing in Aladdin and Jasmine a few seasons earlier, perhaps in place of the Frozen nonsense); even Facilier with the same backstory (which seems to be a fling while she was the Evil Queen, with possibly much stronger feelings on his part that she didn’t return because revenge).
...OR. If the decision was made to ditch the original story of Swanfire, the only organic alternative would have been to go forward with a full-on love story for Swan Queen. (Which to be honest is one of the few things that I think would have prevented the show’s ratings decline and failure.)
-- Ruby should have stayed a main character, and her romance should have been onscreen. I enjoyed the setup for Frankenwolf in S2, but Kitsowitz have been promising a LGBT couple since S3, when all we got was sad, lonely Mulan in love with her straight best friend. (Cutting-edge wlw content, circa 1925.) Ruby and Mulan coulda/shoulda had a long-term, medium-burn romance like Alice and Robin are getting now. Ruby’s friendships with Snow and Belle could also have been respected (and poor Belle wouldn’t have been used to prop her and her family’s abusers). Even after the show had gone down the Stu hole, there was a period when they could have gotten Meghan back (before she became the queen of the Hallmark Channel) and could have gone on from there.
-- The Sheep Boys BroTP should never have been abandoned--especially so that Charming could play sidekick and patsy to a toxic misogynist pirate who never learned from him. Charming and Hook together were basically two frat boys glorifying traditional masculinity (with Hook being the darker, toxic side and again, never changing through learning anything from David). Rumple and Charming were incredibly different, but they had the commonality of putting their wives and families above everything else in the world. Exploring the different worldviews they came even with that common goal could have been fascinating, and expanded both characters.
-- And, of course, probably most of all: Rumbelle, and Belle’s other relationships. Like, I can’t even begin...there are SO many missed opportunities and lost chances with them--beginning even back in S2. What if they’d kept Lacey for more than two episodes and let her play a part in the main story? (I’ll never get over the hilarious visual of Lacey in Neverland.) But overall...just...not piling on stupid, needless, often OOC conflict without any payoff for three or four seasons. Not to say have them always be in perfect accord like Snowing, or a codependent mess like CY, in which Belle kept brushing off any of Rumple’s wrongdoings. But let them work out issues onscreen, let them fight together against outside threats like Hades, let them address their conflicts in ways that made sense in character rather than being excuses to prop a Stu or Sue. (Let’s not even discuss the constant teasing of the BatB TLK and the  ultimate utter pathetic anticlimax when it didn’t happen.) While I do think that canon Swan Queen is the only thing that could have definitely saved the ratings in later seasons, IMO a strong Rumbelle story that respected their characters and their story as Beauty and the Beast had a good chance of doing it as well. (Especially if Kitsowitz had had the brains to cash on on the live-action BatB hullablaoo.) But Kitsowitz were too small-minded and spiteful (and ABC too prejudiced and cowardly, I guess) to focus on their best romance.
(Honorary mentions to the Rumple/Regina frenemyship, which I cover below, and to poor Will Scarlet, who should have never been on the show if he wasn’t going to be more than a “soul-destroying” unneeded glitch in Rumbelle.)
Top 5 plot missed opportunities:
[OMG, Violet, you’re not done YET???]
-- The Anti-Magic Organization that Greg/Tamara supposedly worked for would have made a brilliant arc. Kitsowitz should have played that out before heading off to Neverland (it was obviously the plan because they didn’t expect the NL/PP perms situation to resolve so quickly).
-- My best crack theory: Hook found the author in Season 3B and had been using him to manipulate everyone ever since. Explaining Once Upon a Stu--and more important, getting out of it at the end of S4. https://violetfaust.tumblr.com/post/114245381966/what-if-someone-already-got-to-the-author
-- A S5b based on my second-best crack theory: https://violetfaust.tumblr.com/post/143427662086/things-that-absolutely-wont-happen-but-should Rumple and Belle try to get out of Hades’s clutches by working with Regina--who claims to be Rumple’s second-born child via Cora. We could have had so much juicy stuff exploring their past, what Rumple did to Regina, Rumple and Cora (it’s a travesty that they didn’t even have a passing encounter in the UW). It could have led into Emilie’s maternity leave when Hades discovered the truth and kidnapped Belle--which would have led to a 6A in which Rumple rescued Belle from some other dimension but found their child gone. And one of the plot points of 6A would have been Rumple working with the EQ not in some idiotic parody of a romance, but because she called in a favor.
-- BIG BAD FUCKING BLUE FAIRY. Enough said.
-- And then there’s the most destructive missed plot opportunity in the history of the show: Giving Rumple’s and Belle’s POVs in seasons 4 through 6. Given the reveals about the Dark Squad in S5, the most dramatic story this show ever had was Rumple’s battle against the Dark One (and his near-loss) in S4. A S4 that showed his POV of what was happening would have been epic--especially if it did not sideline Belle but allowed her to play a part in trying to save him at the end, culminating in their TLK that freed Rumple but unfortunately also let loose the Dark One, leading to it taking over Emma. Then S5 would have played out as it was advertised: the current Dark One vs. the only surviving former Dark One. Similarly, Belle’s actions in 6A caused nearly all the drama of 6B--and she wasn’t allowed to participate in it at all.
Honorable mention to not including Belle in the Mulan/Ruby/Merida adventure in S5--a one-off that included three of her friends versus her enemy and could have really benefited from having, you know, a MEMBER OF THE MAIN CAST involved in the episode.

Robin x Reader: The Bird Tattoo~Part Three (Soulmate AU)
A/n: Sorry, my writing is horrible. OOC. I know next to nothing about police radios, so bear with me. Please.
Wally and Dick found themselves sitting in the living room with a police radio sitting beside them. It played quietly in the background, and they listened for any key words. Specifically the words speeding, motorcycle, failure to comply, high speed chase, etc.
“I can’t believe they’ve been chased by the cops,” Wally tugged at his hair in disbelief. “Like, what?!” He shoved another handful of popcorn in his mouth. The bowl was big and filled enough to feed at least three people, but it’s Wally.
“I’m not surprised.” Robin supported his chin with his hand as he rested on the arm of the couch. “Definitely something Mockingbird would get herself into. Reckless must be her middle name...” He trailed off; the odd feeling he was getting in his stomach was distracting.
Wally shifted in his seat and put down the bowl of popcorn with a serious look on his face. “You do realize that Artemis is involved, too, right? It’s not just M.” He was best friends with Robin, and almost always took his side in things, but he was on the fence at the moment. Wally strongly disagreed with Robin’s decision to clear your tablet- a very idiotic decision -and he had yet to find out why.
“Well, yeah, but,” Robin had difficulty finding an excuse. “Mockingbird’s the one driving! Artemis has no control over her!” It was very poor excuse with many holes.
“I’m pretty sure Artemis could get her to slow down if she genuinely wanted to. And she’s M’s best friend; plenty of control there, if that makes sense.” Wally reached over for his cup and took a long sip of pop through the straw. “Why did you wipe her tablet, anyway? You never said why.” finally, the question on everyone’s mind was out in the open.
This time, Robin was at a loss for words. If there was a reason, it was a stupid, childish one. So he went with honesty. “I...don’t know. I was just so annoyed with her, I needed some sort of payback. She’s annoyed me since the very start of this team.” His voice was a mix of defensive and irritated.
“And what did she do to earn your very obvious hatred?”
That sent him into a rant. “She broke into the Batcave to use the computer when ours was down without setting off any of the alarms I set up! Her powers are so aggravating and barely useful when we’re on missions!” Robin started motion with his hands. “And she knows my identity! She knows Batman’s identity! Almost everyone’s identity. But I’m not allowed to know her identity! I tried getting into her files to find out, but it takes me forever to get pass even one section of security.”
Wally was speechless, for once. He could easily poke holes in everything he just heard. He could turn Robin’s explanation into a slice of Swiss cheese. “Dude, her powers are insanely useful. When she said she can make any sound, she wasn’t exaggerating. Any sound at any volume. Cut her some slack.” He still didn’t know who’s side he was on. “But I can definitely see where you’re coming from on the whole identity thing. Really unfair to you, dude.”
Suddenly, the police radio emitted the words they were looking for.
“This is unit 227. I’ve got a speeding motorcycle in my sights; I am in pursuit. Going at 90 miles per hour and slowly accelerating. No license plate, and their helmets prevent me from identifying them.”
“Do you need back up, Officer Bronson?”
“Nope, I’ve got this one. Just looks like some teenagers going for a joy ride.”
“10-4,we’ll be on stand-by.”
Silence briefly entailed before the radio blared to life again.
“These speedsters are aren’t slowing down! At all! I need back-up!”
“10-4, what’s you’re 20?”
“I’m on route-”
Officer Bronson, the cop in question, stopped speaking.
“Bronson? Do you copy?”
“They disappeared.”
“What do you mean, ‘disappeared’!?”
“The motorcycle is gone! I went around the corner and poof, no more motorcycle! Not a single vehicle as far as I can see!”
“Again!?”
Wally started snickering, and then started full-on laughing. But he stopped when his drink came out of his nose. Then it was Robin’s turn to laugh. He didn’t want to admit it, but disappearing like that while on a motorcycle was kind of impressive.
Suddenly, the hangar doors opened and a black motorcycle zoomed inside almost immediately after, the engine roaring and the headlight(s?) lighting up the base. The tires screeched obnoxiously as you drifted into a parking position. Ironically, next to Robin’s. But your heart was pounding too hard and your adrenaline levels were too high to give a damn.
You and Artemis ripped off the helmets and basically sunk to the floor to sit for a moment. Artemis was shaking from the adrenaline rush while you were grinning like a fool. Wally and Robin jumped up to see what was going on, and they were surprised to see you two panting on the floor.
“I told you to slow down!” Artemis exclaimed with a weak glare. She had fun and she knew it.
You scoffed. “Bull! You said speed up!” It’s not like you were going to get caught.
“That was before I saw the cop car behind that rickety barn!”
“You never said slow down, I’d bet my life on it.”
Wally decided to chime in. “I could have gone faster, just to make it clear.” The situation was hilarious to him. Artemis and Mockingbird getting tailed by a cop? Funny. Arguing about who’s fault it was? Even better.
You and Artemis said in unison, “We aren’t talking about you!” No one said anything the following moment, but then you two burst into giggles. That was the fastest your motorcycle had ever gone, and you two were the lucky ones to be on it. The jokes you cracked, the girl-talk, and venting about Robin again made it one hell of a night.
Robin saw the scene unfold and it made him feel... weird. Like his stomach was going to burst, or he ate something bad. Nonetheless, he still glared at you and opted to scold you. “Sure, you had fun and all, good for you. But what if you got caught, huh? What would you do then?”
That definitely ruined the mood. All the smiles were gone, turned into frowns. “I would have called you, my knight in a black and yellow cape, to rescue us from a jail cell.” Sarcasm dripped from your words and you stood up. “We weren’t going to get caught. Who do you think we are?” Your footsteps echoed as you walked away, an angry aura replacing your exhilarated one.
“And if you crashed?” Robin asked, his voice quieter. The lack of bite to his words startled you. It was calmer, and... caring? He almost sounded sad. Maybe he was. You didn’t want to look into it.
It made you freeze in your tracks. Not only how he sounded, but what he asked. If you crashed, both you and Artemis would’ve died. Undoubtedly. For two human girls, there would be no chance at surviving a crash at such speed. You thought about being responsible for Artemis’ injuries or death from any sort of motorcycle crash, and that thought made your heart clench. Leaving the team, practically your family now, behind because of a stupid decision hurt you even worse.
You turned your head a little to look at Robin out of the corner of your eye. He was right. You were wrong. And if someone asked, you would be willing and mature enough to confirm it. You maintained eye contact with the Boy Wonder for a few more seconds, but then you turned and walked back to your room without giving an answer. They saw you take off your sunglasses and fold them back up, but not your face. Not a surprise.
Artemis and Wally stared at Robin in bewilderment.
“Oh my goodness,” Wally dramatically put a hand over his heart. “I guess you’re not as cold-hearted towards her as I thought!”
“Am not allowed to talk to her without being a jerk? It was just one time anyway, it doesn’t mean I like her.” Robin grunted and went back to the living room. “We’re staying here tonight, right?”
“That is the plan!” Wally called out to him before looking down at Artemis with a smirk. He held a hand out to her. “Need help getting up, babe?” His wink would have made the average teenage girl swoon, but Artemis was no average teenage girl. They were also the ones who used to hate each other, but they eventually started getting along. Wally was a flirt at heart, so she got plenty of that.
Artemis stared up at him for what seemed like hours before taking his hand, rolling her eyes. She almost yelped when he yanked her up and brought her close to his chest. Wally’s green eyes met hers, but she firmly pushed him away before anything else could happen.
Robin was positive that they were going to be soulmates, but what about his? Wanting to meet his soulmate was a natural thing, so of course he was excited, but he was absolutely clueless on who it could be, or where he would meet them. People usually are, but it bothered him to no end.
You were in the library of the cave, a quiet place that wasn’t used too often. But you had one of your laptops out and several notepads surrounded you. On the screen were The Doctor’s files, as well as your own. You were deep in your research, ignoring all of the painful memories that you desperately wanted to rebury. You placed your mask on the desk and reached up to rub your tired eyes. It wouldn’t be the first time you stayed up all night, and certainly not the last.
Wally was zonked out on one of the couches, the credits of a movie rolling through on the TV, while Robin shuffled around the halls. He couldn’t sleep, so a walk around the cave wouldn’t hurt. But he got curious when he saw light coming from the doorway to the library. Who would be up at this hour? Aside from him.
He poked his head in to see who was there, but he only heard the clacking of a keyboard and occasionally the scratching of a pencil on paper. Robin slowly stalked through the shelves and made his way to the back of the library.
You were sitting with your back facing him, deeply invested on the screen in front of you. Robin was amazed that you didn’t hear him and leaned closer to see what you were looking at, but to no avail. So he settled on trying to get a look at your face.
He saw the tip of your nose before he gave away his cover. The floorboard beneath him creaked and it got an insane reaction from you. Your hand thumped against the desk and some papers drifted to the floor as you tried to snatch up your domino mask.
The moment it was on, you whipped around, ready to attack any hostile being in the room. But it was just Robin. Although, to you, it might as well be a hostile. You visibly relaxed before getting back in your chair and grabbing a blank sheet of paper to write something else down.
“You’re up late.” Robin looked at his watch; it read 12:23 AM. Not late at all for the life of a hero, but you were all still exhausted teenagers. Wally was dead asleep on a couch, Artemis was at home getting some shut-eye, you weren’t sure if Conner slept often since Superman technically doesn’t need to, Megan was certainly getting her rest, and Kaldur was comfortably regaining energy from a hard-day’s work. It was only you and Robin, now.
“Same to you.” You mumbled. You weren’t keen on talking to him, so you didn’t plan on talking unless spoken to.
Robin really did feel horrible for deleting all your hard work, and your reaction to his question earlier that evening darkened his mood. And he didn’t know how to make it up to you, so he started with picking up your fallen papers.
The rustling of papers didn’t phase you, nor did him holding them out to you. You snatched them out of his hand and firmly put them back in their original place. You were still angry at him, but you aimed to keep your words civil. Your actions? Not so much.
Robin crossed his arms as he stared at the back of your head. “I could have gotten a paper cut, you know.” At this point, he was just trying to make small talk out of pure boredom.
“I’m sure you’d live...” You muttered again and hit the ‘enter’ button a little harder than necessary.
The next twenty minutes were spent on several attempts to get you to say more than one sentence at a time, but trying to get you in a conversation was more advanced, and Robin had yet to level up. If anything, he’s still at level zero.
Robin sighed, starting to get irritated. “Well, what are you doing?” His question was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The loud slam of your fist hitting the desk made him jump. Just a little. “You want to know what I’m doing!?” You growled, quietly. It was still a library, in your eyes. “Since you deleted every single thing I had on my tablet, I have to start from square one! I have to go through stacks of police reports and investigations and closed cases!”
“Look, I’m sorry, alright? I didn’t know what you had on your tablet; I thought it was a just bunch of games you could easily re-download. I was annoyed, and I didn’t think any harm would be done. If I knew that this is what was on there,” Robin gestured to the desk you were working at. “I wouldn’t have even tried messing with your tablet.”
You trained your eyes on the screen, then at your notes, but the anger you held started losing it’s intensity. All you needed to hear was a sincere apology, and it sounded sincere enough to you. But the feeling didn’t entirely disappear.
The sigh Robin heard made him hopeful. Did you still feel like choking him? Most likely. But it’s better than you wanting to snap him like a toothpick. He then heard you mumble something, but it was too quiet to understand. “What?”
“Do you know how close I was to tracking down and stopping the man who took everything from me?” You said quietly with gritted teeth. “I know he’s not dead. Everyone else says he is. And I could have proven it,” the pencil in your hand was suffering from your deadly grip. “If it weren’t for your petty dislike for me.”
Robin was aware of how childish and immature about why he acted so cold towards you. For a while, he thought you were just as mean. But it was just you retaliating and mirroring his behavior.
“So if you don’t mind,” you pointed in the direction of the exit. “I’d appreciate it if you got out of here. Immediately.”
“Let me ask one more question,” Robin jumped up and looked at where your eyes would be. “Why don’t you take off your mask? I can’t because Batman said I can’t give it away to anyone... but why can’t you?”
The tension in the room was suffocating, and the silence was deafening. You didn’t want to answer the question; something else inside you did. “After I got my powers, I was trained to never reveal my face. I was punished if I didn’t listen.” Your voice was almost inaudible. Barely a whisper.
“Oh,” Now Robin understood. It wasn’t a ‘haha, I’m keeping this secret from you to make you mad’ type of thing, it was something entirely different.
     “Now get out.”

I Should Have Seen This Coming...
After reading various articles and watching several videos that have been revolving around themes such as nihilism and cynicism that have been interpreted to be core traits in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it strikes me that this is something I should have seen coming around the time I heard that Rian Johnson had been the one to not only direct this film but also single-handedly write it, and it makes me wonder why, in retrospect, Lucasfilm thought this guy was a great choice to direct a Star Wars movie beyond the mere visuals.
I remember back when The Force Awakens was announced and a director had yet to be hired, so certain names were floated around, like Joss Whedon, Guillermo del Toro, etc.; you know, directors who would make sense to direct a Star Wars movie, what with their prior experiences in the sci-fi/fantasy genres. But two particular names that were floated around for potential directors for TFA were David Fincher and, of course, Rian Johnson, and these were names that struck me as odd considering their bodies of work.
Granted, between Fincher and Johnson, the latter still makes more sense to direct a Star Wars film (and I still stand by that even after the debacle that is TLJ), but I’ll get into why Johnson shouldn’t have been involved in TLJ in the first place. But for now, let’s get into why Fincher would have been an, if not terrible then, inappropriate choice for a Star Wars film. Now David Fincher is no stranger to sci-fi; his directorial debut, Alien 3, demonstrates that even when his efforts were hampered by studio executives from crafting a story worthy of the Alien franchise, he knew how to direct a film like that. And the thing was, no matter what you think about Alien 3′s quality, that film is, through and through, a bleak, nihilistic film that very much captures the spirit and tone of Ridley Scott’s masterpiece and then some. Then, when you look at several of Fincher’s other works (namely, his adaptations of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl), the themes of nihilism and pessimism continue to pepper his work, as these core traits are things that Fincher carries from his own personality and worldview into his craft. So I bring all this up about Fincher because when I heard that people (if not Disney/Lucasfilm execs, then people in general) were thinking about him as a possible contender to direct TFA because of his technical skills and experience, I thought, “No, the views that he brings into his work would be totally contrary to what Star Wars is about, which is about, among other things, persistent hope and heroism even in the face of the bleakest of times.”
Then we get to Rian Johnson. Now the works from Johnson I have seen were his episodes of Breaking Bad (Fly, Fifty-One [the episode where Heisenberg and co. pull the train robbery], and Ozymandias [the episode where Hank dies and Walter’s life completely falls apart) and his 2012 film Looper. Now the commonality between all of these works, and which brings a connection between him and Fincher beyond being potential directors for TFA, are themes such as nihilism, brutality, and pessimism, especially in areas where things fall apart. And also like Fincher’s Alien 3, Johnson’s Looper is a science-fiction film that incorporates such dour, depressing themes into its story, and imo, how he incorporated those themes into Looper, and especially in his episodes of Breaking Bad (which, of course, he didn’t write) worked well for that film and definitely those episodes.
However, it was because of Looper that made me wonder why he would be considered an appropriate candidate to direct TFA, and it really got me scratching my head once he actually got the job of writing and directing TLJ. I thought, “Well, this’ll be a departure from how he would do things.” But then the movie comes out, and when themes like failure and, yes, nihilism are brought up by fans on sites like this and YouTube, it becomes more apparent to me that Johnson was a mistake to write and direct a Star Wars movie. How he incorporates the themes he wishes to discuss are so out of line with what Star Wars is actually about and it certainly makes the characters included in this movie act OOC from how they were previously established in the prior films (I’m looking at you, Luke).
Quite frankly, outside of someone like David Fincher, it would be like if one decided to hire an arthouse director to direct a superhero action movie. I can’t imagine someone like Paul Thomas Anderson, who made such dramatic films like 2012′s The Master and 2002′s Punch Drunk Love, to direct an Avengers movie (which is interesting since he has professed to actually liking superhero/sci-fi action films, yet never directs them). Or how about David Lynch, an arthouse director who’s made movies like Eraserhead and Blue Velvet, direct a Star Wars fil...
Wait... he was considered to direct Return of the Jedi?
WTF?
So I think the conclusion to be made here is this: In spite of the success of TLJ on both the commercial and (professionally) critical sides, if Lucasfilm and Disney hope to have Star Wars continue to be a long-lasting franchise, they must be careful with who they write and direct their films for the future, because a nihilistic pessimist like Rian Johnson would be so inappropriate to the point that they could damage the franchise, as Johnson has done with TLJ. And I speak as a nihilistic pessimist myself, and there are places that can explore such themes in fiction (i.e. Watchmen); hell, I could even see a Star Wars movie working with that PROVIDED THAT IT RECEIVES THE PROPER FOCUS. What do I mean by this? Well, pessimism and nilihism could work in a film focusing on, say, the criminal element of SW, like Jabba the Hutt or Boba Fett; a side element, if you will. But to have this sort of realism in the main saga of Star Wars, where bright, optimistic characters like Luke Skywalker are faced with bleak and grim situations yet soldier through them scarred but alive on both a physical and emotional level, is not productive to the main Star Wars saga.

Dami sat in front of her computer screen. It was not the most exciting of circumstances in which she’d found herself. Some small and unacknowledged part of her felt thankful that she’d managed to land herself in such a simple place on such an empty day, but the rest of her was as bored as the two hands that hovered over untapped keys in front of a tauntingly blank word document. After what felt like a lifetime of nothing, Dami closed her laptop and stood from her place. There was far too much snow outside for her to spend the day inside making zero progress on the project that wasn’t even due until January. Sure, she was pages behind on her schedule, but she’d make it up at some point.
Grabbing her thickest coat, Dami rushed from Milford Hall into the snow with a grin plastered on her face. In no time snow was threaded through her hair and she was engaged in an epic snow battle with a large group of other sophomores. An hour in to their snowy shenanigans, Dami yawned. It should have been a clue to rest, but she rarely paid attention to the clues where there was fun to be had. Instead, she continued to pack snow balls while ducking behind a bench. She stood just in time to see her friend get pelted in the face with a ball of snow. The sight caused laughter to erupt from her lungs, only to stop when her legs became noodles beneath her and the cold of the snow on her face. She could hear her friends continuing their war with a few added laughs around her before one knelt beside her. They knew by that point not to make a huge deal of the cataplexy unless they wanted to risk the wrath of Dami, chewing them out in their dreams. Once able to move again, she let them pull her to her feet with a grin.
After brushing herself off, Dami felt it would be best to take a nap before going ragdoll in front of anyone else. She’d never minded attention when she was goofing around, but preferred to avoid the sympathetic brand of attention. Once back in her pillow and blanket covered room, she flopped down in a mass of comfort until her brain quickly conceded to sleep. Eyes opening once more on the other side of REM, Dami found herself walking down a long and luminescent hallway. All around her were oddly shaped doors of various shapes and colors. She new that each led to the dream of someone else either in Skybourne or elsewhere and that once she stepped through the door, there was no guarantee that she would not regret what she saw. After only a few moments, she stepped forward, feeling drawn to a particular door.
Once inside, she could not help but smirk at the sight of her friend standing in the middle of the room, causing a piano to hover above his head. A brow perked as what sounded like some sort of theme music played and he thrust the piano into the air, an image of an entire city coming into view. The piano hit a giant lizard that seemed to be terrorizing the town. She remained unnoticed in his superhero fantasy until a laugh burst forth from her lips, this time without incident. Varun turned to see her, concern clear on his features until the glossy-eyed look faded and realization dawned on him that he was only dreaming. Dami took the opportunity to dream up a Scarlet O’Hara-esque look for herself, complete with a silk hand fan. “Oh, don’t stop on my account. Would you like me to play Damsel, so you can save me from Godzilla?”
“Forgive me if I sleep until I wake up.”

Amelia Shah worked as a state prosecutor, specializing in cases against those with abilities who committed crimes while Amar Shah was a member of the Texas House of Representatives. Being in such high standing within their community, the Shah’s kept a strict and scheduled environment for their only daughter, Dami. Such treatment left Dami with an amicably rebellious nature. She often pushed just past the limits set for her and developed an outgoing personality despite the sheltered lifestyle that her parents intended for her.
When Dami started to show troubling symptoms of lethargy, daytime sleepiness, and insomnia during the night at the age of seven, it was not seen as something of immediate concern. Her parents and teachers deemed her lazy and doctors believed that she could be depressed which contradicted her hopeful and bubbly personality. She did not find lack of interest in her favorite activities, but rather had a hard time staying awake when participating in the things she enjoyed. No one saw any real reason for concern until, at the age of 13, she began to experience sudden loss of voluntary muscle tone when laughing or feeling strong emotions such as anger or anxiety.
Finally, Dami was able to see a specialist and, much to the dismay of her parents, she was diagnosed with narcolepsy type 1. In response to the diagnosis, her parents wanted her to quit all of her extracurricular activities to reduce the chance of any “incidents”. They tried to remove any ounce of excitement from her life, but Dami fought against their efforts. She was determined to live her life to the fullest despite her limitations. Unfortunately, her adrenaline-seeking exploits led to her becoming a victim of a small-time villain by the name of Foe Hawk who had escaped prison after losing a case to Dami’s mother. With her condition, Dami hardly stood a chance against him.
The news of her capture spread quickly, bringing fame to Foe Hawk and prompting other small-time villains to follow his lead. In no time, Dami’s parents hired private security to watch Dami at all hours. Her efforts lessened the frequency of Dami’s abductions. Up to that point, the villains had been inept amateurs trying to make a name for themselves, but the added challenge brought on a more serious contender with a personal vendetta against Amelia Shah. While her mother was in the midst of one of the biggest cases of state versus powered persons in the history of Texas, Dami was kidnapped by one of the more infamous villains in the area. He held her in a nuclear waste disposal facility where she was exposed to radioactive sludge.
The rescue that followed the incident proved to be one of the more dramatic rescues during her tenure as a damsel in distress. Dami awoke after the ordeal in the hospital but found that no one could quite see her. She soon realized that she was stuck in a dream. As usual, the dream was lucid, but she found that things looked a bit different. When she approached another sleeping patient, she found herself thrust into their dream. Over time, Dami learned how to communicate with others in their dreams and even learned to create within the dreams of others. She had a long way to go, but knew that there were many things she could learn from her new abilities.
Dream walking gave her an entire new lease on life that she didn’t have before. She no longer feared falling asleep, but was able to accept the power that her sleep gave her. Simone Burke, a friend of Dami’s parents, suggested Skybourne where Dami could develop her abilities in a safe environment and Dami jumped on the opportunity at new found independence in a heartbeat. She often doubts her value as hero support, but believes there is some place for her among the others at Skybourne. That is, if she can stay awake during her classes.
