Melly understands Lisa really she does. I mean Lisa doesn't know about werewolves or the fact she is most likely Ten's mate. She only knows about werewolves because Jackson, Jessi, and the GOT7 pack were her friends during their stay in America. She knows Ten only rain checks when it's pack business but she can't tell Lisa that. She'd be betraying her friend's trust and Lisa will most likely think she's either nuts or joking.

"Look you know YangYang, Lucas, and Norenmin are my besties aside from you. They are always complaining about how much he talks about you. Ten is a lovesick puppy. You know they all are family. The guys and I don't get to hang out all that often outside of school either. It's family issues. They always let me know when they can't make it it's family problems and they remind me Ten is ALWAYS with them. He loves you. You have nothing to worry about. I'll even talk to him for you and send him over later." Melly said. Lisa nodded leaving in a hurry. Melly stalks up to Ten grabbing him by the ear.

"Alright, wolf-man. I need to have a chat with you and your Alpha." She growls pulling him outside.

"Alpha?" Ten questions she turns and when she sees his Alpha she grins.

"JACKSON!" She screams tackling him.

"Ooof!" He groans. "What the- Melly!" He gets up spinning her around.

"Jackson, how many times do I need to remind you I will barf on you if you keep doing this?" Melly glares at him as he puts her down.

"Ooops?" He grins sheepishly. Ten stares shocked and amused.

"So, just a minute ago Lisa was talking about breaking up with Ten. Before you ask yes I know him and the others are wolves. They remind me of you and the guys. Plus I am friends with a few including Norenmin. I think it's time you guys told Lisa about wolves. Then Ten can tell her they're mates."

"Why didn't you tell her if you're so worried?" Jackson asked with furrowed brows.

"And betray you and the pack's trust and the likely chance Lisa thinks I'm either nuts or just making excuses for him? Nah, dude. I'll pass." Melly retorted. That caused both wolves to chuckle. They led her to the car and started started towards the pack house.

Once there she ran in. "Eomma Mark!"

There were thundering footsteps as she was suddenly tackled by two bodies who growled and started scenting her.

"Mate." They growled. Her eyes widened when she realized the wolves who tackled her were her first wolf crushes Jay B and BamBam. Then six more people come rushing downstairs. Their eyes glow as they also claimed her as their mate.

"Looks like the boys finally found their last piece." Jackson said making her look up only to see him looking at her amused as he casually leaned against the door frame.

The evolution of the "two mates" theory into a true mating bond and an offspring mating bond perpetuates a misogynistic line of thinking.

It reduces Elain and Lucien's bond to the idea that Elain is merely meant to carry Lucien's child for some future greatness, implying that their bond will be rejected because Lucien wouldn't want to burden Elain with that responsibility, despite Elain feeling a pull towards him.

This reductionist view ignores the Suriel's statement that mates are meant to be equals and instead focuses solely on Rhys's theory about producing strong offspring, which has been disproven by various examples such as Feyre and Nesta's inability to carry their mates' children and Thesan's desire for a mating bond with his same-sex partner.

The logical conclusion is that the mating bond serves a broader purpose beyond offspring production.

However, some insist on concluding that there are two kinds of mating bonds. Examining other examples from SJM, every mating bond in the CC series contributed to the downfall of the Asteri. From Theia and Aidas bringing Hel's forces during the rebellion, to Silene and her NC High Lord keeping the legend alive through storytelling that allowed Bryce to find the truth, to Baxian and Danika motivating the search for other worlds, to Bryce and Hunt and Ruhn and Lidia who ultimately killed the Asteri.

Furthermore, in Crescent City, there would have been more mates, yet Aidas emphasized the necessity of Bryce and Hunt being together to stop the Asteri. Despite this, it took the intervention of a higher being to make them mates, highlighting that even in such a complex scenario, fate played a decisive role.

The Asteri's manipulation to force a mating bond was limited to angels, as it served the purpose of producing more angels.

Yet, proponents of the "offspring mating bond" theory continue to insist that Elain and Lucien's bond exists solely for procreation, despite the deeper implications and fate-driven changes evident in other examples.

Agori exhibit subtle sexual dimorphism differently depending on which tribe they belong to (i.e. lebori males have brighter plumage, fezeri females are larger), while their bone structures are essentially identical. Gaquri are the only tribe able to naturally alter their bodies' production of their estrogen and testosterone equivalents. Actively transitioning and/or intersex individuals of any tribe can present dimorphic traits of one sex, traits of both sexes, muddled traits, or none at all

Their breasts are placed in the pelvic area, like horses, and the nips are the only visible part. To prevent chafing, lower garments have soft reinforcements at hip-height

They have short, nubby tails which have survived across their evolution despite having lost their original size and purpose. their movement is very limited and usually unconscious; since they remain the same length during all stages of life, they appear to "shrink" the more a person grows. children use them to better balance themselves when learning to walk

With the exception of Basari's and Fezeri's, Agori ears are very flexible despite their small size and can lean in almost all directions. Their shape varies across tribes

Their senses aside from touch are generally keener than humans'

Agori clothing tends to prefer function to form and does not have significant differences between masculine and feminine styles, although it wasn't always the case before the Shattering

Together with hugs, kisses and handshakes, each tribe has a unique display of affection or greeting pertaining to the head and/or face: Lebori preen each other, Gaquri rub cheeks together, Koniri gently nip ears, Fezeri butt the top of their heads, Basari scratch each other's nape, Potori shove temples against one another and Tapyri press the other's hand to their forehead. The gesture's intensity is usually toned down when done to someone of a different tribe to avoid discomfort or pain

If an object is in an enclosed space like a house, a vehicle or a box, Agori will point to it with their chins instead of their fingers

Vorox and Zesk still communicate in an extremely simplified version of a strict Basari dialect, although the phonetics had to be heavily changed to adapt to the shape of their mutated mouths. Malum has learned it and is currently the only fully sapient being somewhat fluent in Bara Magna Basari

Other tribes tend not to know Tapyri have hair

Koniri fur keeps warm, but becomes stiff in great quantities; Lebori down feathers are very soft, but struggle to retain heat on their own; Potori wool offers great insulation in most climates, but risks growing mold easily when humidity increases

After they (almost) went extinct, the sturdy carapaces of dead Bara Magna Fezeri were pillaged to make very durable high quality armor. because of this there are no intact pieces or Fezeri remains left, and the few plates that have survived since, no matter how worn or outright broken, are either made into family heirlooms or sold at exhorbitant prices. Sahmad has a large number of them (almost all buried) as he made a habit of targetting and capturing anybody who wore them specifically

Tapyri are unique when it comes to cleaning since their protective mucus naturally catches dirt and other particles for easy removal, meaning they only need to scrub or peel it off. Gaquri, Koniri and Potori take water baths while Basari, Fezeri and Lebori take dust or sand baths

Agori children are addressed with the pronouns ti/tir until they choose their own. its highly unusual for someone to use ti/tir for tir whole life, and the set is often used as a playful jab when a person exhibits childish behavior

Pregnancy is a very taxing endeavour: the process takes around a year and a half, but the parent's body will additionally need two or three years to recover from the strain of the experience as a whole, during which it will be physically unable to produce the necessary material to make another child. sudden spikes in stress or a constant stream of it during pregnancy is almost sure to produce a stillborn, and its very easy for older individuals to simply not have the energy to make it through childbirth once the time comes. this used to not be a problem, since Agori are very long lived and the whole planet was full of them, but the Core War drastically reduced their numbers and the hazardous conditions produced by the Shattering all over the planet made for a very dangerous environment to attempt having a child in, so births became extremely rare in the 100 thousand years before Mata Nui's return. the so called "children of Bara Magna" (which include Gresh and Berix) are few and far between, commonly having significant age gaps from one to the other

A wide number of male MU beings is perceived as feminine or adjacent by Agori, partly due to sexual dimorphism not being A Thing for most species, partly due to voice and countenance: Tahu, for example, is considered to be very lady-like. in his specific case this perception might however be also affected by the fact that he was modeled after Ackar, who used to be much more overtly femme in his youth* (check tags)

I was talking about this on a call the other day but one of my favorite things about Sea of Thieves is that the characters are allowed to be ugly and so wildly diverse. Even the skeletons are diverse and have compelling and fun designs.

Note that when I say ugly I don’t mean that as a bad thing - I’m a firm believer that ugly doesn’t have to be a bad word, just the same as fat doesn’t have to be. Nobody’s perfect and that’s beautiful etc etc, when I say ugly I mean “not conventionally attractive” and it’s something I wholeheartedly appreciate

Like. Player pirates are randomly generated, which can be frustrating but at the end of the day it’s refreshing to not be able to sit and put together the perfect pirate. There will always be little scars or nicks or features you didn’t choose to place there, but they’re your pirates’ features. Just a couple days ago I realized my pirate has a snake bite on her cheek, and I LOVE that it’s there, though I never would have considered it for her had I been given the option to build her from scratch.

The NPCs, too, are diverse, and allowed to be flawed, and ugly. With their crooked or missing teeth and imperfect proportions and scars and asymmetrical faces - Rare could have very easily chosen to make every last NPC a perfectly pretty face fit for a magazine, and they chose not to. It makes the characters feel a little more real, more like they’re people - I can’t tell you how often I sit and examine the models of NPCs to look at every little detail and just appreciate how imperfect they are.

And like previously stated - and perhaps the thing I appreciate the most - even the skeleton characters are widely varied. Rathbone moves with a hunched posture that hides the fact his frame is fairly small, Grimm is tall and wide in that way that Sea of Thieves builds their fat characters, one of Chi’s horns is growing from her eye socket and she’s lankier than Ruth’s sturdy frame, Horatio has arms that are just a little too long, so on and so forth.

Just… Sure, I don’t by any means love Rare as a company, but the character design we see in Sea of Thieves is some of the best I’ve ever seen. I have a lot of love for this pirate game and the amount of love the design team put into every single character they offer us

playing clangen is rlly funny because i HATEEEE the one sprite where the cat is super skinny and front-facing i think it's so ugly but it appears for both short-furred and medium-furred cats even though i like some of the other short and medium-furred cat sprites. so in order to avoid having any ugly front-facing cats in my clans i have to resort to killing any babies that are born with medium or short fur. like committing atrocities to keep the pure long-furred genes aflow. i have sent so many newborn kits to starclan because they were born with short or medium fur.

Some notes on the Duet:

I don't think it's the Thing and her mate. For one thing the mate was calling from a different location than he's called for the past 10 or so years I've heard him. It's possible he moved sites, but I don't know.

The louder owl could be the Thing, since it was calling from the same spot she always called from. However despite two screams this owl's call was very standard and, most damningly, the Thing always had a female call (vibrato) whereas this one sounded like a male. It wasn't dueting long enough to really tell though.

The really odd part is that the more distant owl whose call was faint also sounded like a male so uhhh gay owls maybe. Or it was in fact just The Thing and she learned how to sing + got a second husband good for her
