Back from the dead for more kpop opinions no one asked for but I have to share: Le Sserafim at Coachella edition:
You would think the way people online were talking about this set, the girlies went on stage and BOMBED. I was prepared to watch the worst live set I’ve ever seen. INSTEAD. It was so fun?????? Like incredibly undeniably extremely super fucking FUN!!!!!!!!!! I literally can’t believe the shit yall say on dolly parton’s internet about this group.
Firstly. Since the SECOND I got into kpop all I have seen is endless debate on the overuse of lip syncing and vocal smoothing and loud backtracks etc etc etc and I have always always always been on the side, as someone who has seen quite literally hundreds of live sets, of LIVE. VOCALS. I want to hear breathing I want to hear cracks I want to hear imperfections I want to hear actual singing from a real live person standing on stage. Were their vocals perfect? Obviously not. Were they still giving it their all, dancing at full energy, and putting on an insanely fun show???? YEAH GIRL. Not one person on planet earth bar beyonce can dance at that level and give absolutely flawless vocals and for the energy they were expending the vocals still sounded fine and most importantly, conveyed the emotion of the set they were going for. It was high energy! It was hot and fun! It was a party! Of course they’re going to yell and scream and hype up the crowd and run around, THANK GOD THEY DID.
Secondly, if I had watched it and the crowd hated it and the energy was bad and everything was awkward and weird that’d be one thing. But the ENTIRE time everyone in the crowd was losing their minds, screaming the girls’ names, and SINGING ALONG!!!!!!!! The energy was so good and fun and you could tell everyone there was having a blast which in my opinion is the absolute 100% nonnegotiable most important part of a live set.
Thirdly, I’ve watched all of their encores, other live stages by them, and I feel like I know what they sound like live in general and this was actually truly leagues better than they’ve been in the past and that wasn’t because their vocals were worlds better, they were definitely improved but not by like A TON. what actually made this their best performance I’ve ever seen was how fucking fun the entire set was and how you could tell what they practiced was their actual stage presence and the show they put on and it PAID OFF!!!!!!!!!! The entire thing was just so enjoyable to watch and I truly didn’t want it to end because you could tell they were having so much fun and really working the crowd.
My favorite parts were eve psyche in English, the bit about going out for a drink but then realizing eunchae and kazhua are underage, the live band, THE NEW SONG!!!!!! WHERE THE HECK IS SAKI!!!!!! and of course “Coachella shake some fucking ass”
In conclusion, you guys don’t go to enough live shows, don’t know anything about what makes a performance good, love to be miserable, and hate having fun. I on the other hand, who love to have fun, love talented young ladies putting on a great show, and love live music for all its flaws and imperfections, had an absolute blast watching this set.
#text#if you want a boring show where the artist stands perfectly still to deliver flawless live vocals that sound exactly like the recording#go somewhere else#if you want an exciting show with fun girlies throwing an absolute banger of a party#go to a le sserafim concert#it’s a fucking KPOP SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kpop is about being fun and hot#guess what le sserafim have in spades#if there’s one thing I’m going to do it’s get online and defend girl groups performing at western music festivals#loved BPs set last year loved newjeans set at lolla last year#loved le sserafims set this year#idk I think you all would be happier if you just enjoyed how rare and exciting it is to get a fully fully truly live set from a kpop group#in 2024#that shit is practically unheard of#and it HAPPENED#LOVE YOU LE SSERAFIM PLS TOUR AMERICA THIS YEAR SO I CAN GO SEE YOU

(i must be truly missing something because what is the deal with parents fussing about Sabrina Carpenter's tour outfits? they're similar enough to some of Taylor Swift's bodysuits, maybe minus the straps from time to time? is it the garters? both of their looks are just sparkly Esther Williams-synchronized swimmer suits, no? is it the cheeky towel bit at the beginning? it's literally like a "Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee" sleepover look - which is fun!!)
#i have no dedicated taste in music because i lost the ability to invest in specific artists after how exhausting the Fueled By Ramen era was#i only know about this discourse because i look at the fucking Yahoo! homepage at work when i don't want to write crab cake captions anymor#like#it's a concert??? you paid to go to???#Cher had her whole ass out on that Navy ship and it was great! and fun!#do you guys remember the P!ATD “Live in Denver” show!?#CLOWN LAP DANCE!?#note: i really do love Chappell Roan but not enough to wade into the online waters of whatever the fuck is happening there

Armys spending weeks or a month boycotting Hybe, the member's merch and new projects (even though they NEVER boycotted during Golden), demanding they get rid of Scooter Braun and stop working with zionists (even though, AGAIN, they had NO problem with them during Seven, 3D, Justin Timberlake, or even Usher who publicly showed his support for 🇮🇱 days after announcing the collab between him & Jk).
Meanwhile, Scooty scoot-scoot and Bongo are taking couple pics to post for social media. And if that ain't the biggest SLAP in the face to the fans after all that? …but ya'll still daydreaming with that 2025 reunion like its the Second Coming of Christ.
Lets be brutally honest here, BTS coming back from "hiatus"/Military Service ain't gonna fix shit. WHY? Because Hybe, Bongo and 🛴 only care about MONEY. They don't give a shit what the fans want, they don't give a shit what's going on in the world or that they're contributing to it, because all they hear is KA-CHING KA-CHING$$$.
In fact they never did. It only became more obvious the minute that 🛴became ceo of Hybe America.
So either keep wasting your energy boycotting forever with your hashtags (which get deleted off social media cause Hybe has THAT much control to do so) and harassing/bullying other fans on twitter.
OR! Y'know, learn to boycott the old fashion way:
#10 years of watching concerts & downloading music illegally & ya'll can't do it as a boycott?#And you wanna know why? 'Cause for all this boycott & performative activism secretly ya'll keep supporting what you claim to fight against#lol that's why you do it online where no one knows who you are IRL#hybe corrupt#scooter braun corrupt#bts

The Me who bought tickets to see TMBG in february 2023 and the Me who's going to actually go to the show next month are two completely different people
#slash extremely negative#it's funny to actually live this whole sort of cliche of: the time between buying tickets and going to the show can be so absurdly long#with what was supposed to be my 1st 'real' concert no less#'i bought the tickets as a teenager but i'm going to see them in my 20s etc' and stuff like that#and then when it gets rescheduled too... well. a year and 9 months is in fact a pretty long time!!!#and i'm not even talking about rescheduling due to covid because god at least i didn't have to deal with that i guess#(it IS funny though that by the time the 30th anniversary of flood tour ends#flood will be 2 months away from turning 35. so yeah lmao a lot happened in the meantime huh)#anyways day two of going crazy going insane for no reason other than well i guess that's just my life now!!!!! 😃😃😃#me when i say i'll stop documenting my rapidly progressing mental breakdown online and then keep doing it anyway#but idk maybe this will heal me in some way. my only hope rn no joke#and my mom actually seemed to be unsure if i we should book the hotels and stuff because. ig i'm this obviously unwell even over the phone#but BY GOD this is the only thing i can really look forward to right now i really need this to survive#(trying to forget how i was doing in september of last year when they rescheduled the tour#and i couldn't even be sure if i'd ever get to see them in the end lollllll#and at the heights of my tmbg obsession this was my number 1 dream. i mean it still is)#also i think i'm finally entering my tmbg autumn era now with some more frequent listening after not doing so for a while#how could i let myself pretty much forget that i love tmbg??? and that their music is so good and makes me happy???#they're still my fav band of all time just like they were back then. THAT didn't change at least#it's just that now they share that spot with sparks also lol. can't choose between them and why should i anyway#what else. ig i just hope i get the energy to finally draw tomorrow at least#because if i don't turn the ideas i have into reality then they will never become real! and that would be so sad#so maybe this can be my main reason to continue for now. whatever

Concert in VRchat tomorrow night, March 30th at 10:30 Eastern.
Live music performance without having to leave your home.
VRchat is a game that can be played with or without a VR headset, they even have an android app though I don't recommend it.
In game the group is Midnight Munchies which you can search for and join the instance off of, or search for the midnight munchies theater world and join the midnight munchies group instance.
They also have a twitch which is midnightmunchiesmanifesto. So you can watch without being in VRchat.
Links in a reblog because I know Tumblr is weird about links.

sooo it’s been a couple of days since I went to Miku Expo and like… I think I’m still reeling from the fact that I actually went since I’ve been listening to vocal synth music since my childhood and I never expected that I’d actually be able to go to one of these concerts?
some thoughts and highlights under the cut!
the show I went to was sold out (in D.C.) and I stood in line + waited for like, 6 or 7 hours? but I had so much fun that it was worth it!
I helped some people put film inside their penlights, and it was nice chatting with them while we were waiting!
some groups of elderly people who were hanging out in the area were confused about what was going on and after asking some concert-goers to explain they started laughing LMAO (some puzzled passerby’s asked me too and I just said “oh it’s a J-pop concert!” because I didn’t want to go into what Vocaloid was in full detail haha)
there were so many cute cosplays there; I saw a lot of people in Miku’s Vampire outfit and was surprised to also see an Oliver cosplayer, there were also some dressed as Project Sekai characters too!
before the show, every time someone in the audience held up a Miku plush, everyone around them would cheer and hold up their penlights
some people also brought Miku plushes that were bald and whenever they held up those, everyone would shout “BALD, BALD, BALD!” (and I heard someone say “MY EYES!!!”)
the songs the crowd were the loudest for were Miku, Vampire, and World is Mine (it was… so loud during World is Mine LOL)
Kaito fans were being Kaito fans when he did his solo (ILY Kaito fans you’re so iconic) and there was also a notable amount of hype when Luka’s solo finally happened since it took until halfway through the show to get to her
I know the setlist was quite controversial when it was released online but I honestly liked hearing it in person, I feel like the band really elevated the experience (kudos to them!), I really liked how they played for Literacy and Hyper Reality Show in particular
and maybe a hot take but the screen wasn’t… that bad to me? but that was also because I was in the very front and the venue put lights around the stage as well, so I may be biased
#ness yells#and like#my positive experience with the concert doesn’t erase all of the controversies that happened along the way#I’m aware that people were heavily dissatisfied with the merch sales#and lack of communication#I personally got my merch online and without issue. and generally kept an optimistic outlook since this was something I’ve always wanted to#go to! especially after there being no NA concerts for years#I definitely think a lot of things could’ve been handled better though. so don’t just assume that I’m like#‘wow this must’ve been a perfect experience for everyone involved!’#bc I’m not ignorant to the backlash. I read it all dw 😭#but I just wanted to share some nice memories I made#if you even care LOL#ough and also like#this is making me really want to make more miku fanart omg 😭#IT WILL HAPPEN I PROMISE I HAVE PLANS TO!!!#I love vocaloid and vocal synths sm it’s like 90% of the music I listen to

soundcloud basic subscription costs $1 less if you get it online instead of through the app/Apple--
yep. I didn't know that. 😤
#soundcloud#music streaming#admin#music#apple products#app store#ugh#I totally want artists to get paid. I just wish I didn't have to be the 1 doing it if I'm not going to a concert (lol). but tbh...#I could understand paying a certain amount (less than for a ticket) to watch a full concert virtually. I look for specific songs.#but Bring Me the Horizon is PERFECT live. they could charge maybe $6 to $11 for a full show online. adds up to a lot per PC#& maybe you'd have to pay again to watch the same thing after a few months. IDK just an idea.

sorry that vocaloid "hot take" (come on. it's been a ~hot take~ since like 2003. it is lukewarm at this point) is just. so annoying to me. genuinely upsetting. i am also a singer!!! so are a bunch of the people who lend their voices to vocaloid!!! vocal synths are a way to sing when you can't; a voice that you will never yourself have come from your mouth but which still shapes the words that you cannot!!!
dismissing them in such a way just feels disrespectful to all of the humans involved in the vocal synth community, from the producers to artists to animators to the humans who cover those songs, all of whom add a little part of themselves to the songs
#from some perspectives i guess that vocaloid is equivalent to folk music for the tragically online#vocaloid concerts are a place of great community as well#it's like. miku isn't just a synth. she's all of our voices singing together#i also feel like that person thinks that vocaloid is exclusively 'write words and a melody and the robot will sing for you'#rather than something that requires technical ability and skill in order to produce#and connecting it to ai is. i feel like that would have happened regardless of vocaloid#because vsynth communities have become increasingly about respecting the artist and the software as very different things#with a few arguable exceptions of course due to the goals of some voicebanks being to emulate the singer as closely as possible#i have. so many emotions#helen stfu

It really makes me so sad that Ronnie Radke is transphobic in that very Twitter specific way
#why does he have to be so ignorant#I don’t know much about him tbh my friend loves him endlessly and#ze has invited me to a free ride concert to see FIR twice now and all I’ve seen from his twitter is that he’s anti vax and anti mask and now#I guess fucken ignorantly transphobic?? like. he thinks all trans people want women to be forced into being called birthing people.#he thinks tampon brands are hiring Dylan Mulvaney to be their spokeswoman#he said ‘well I identify as black so if you disagree you’re a bigot’#like it’s the Idiot Transphobe 101 shit#and I don’t know anything else I’m just. like. he puts on a good show and I personally love the revamped I’m Not A Vampire#and the original!! his music speaks so much to me as an overly dramatic asshole with addiction issues!!#it just sucks. why do people have to be so chronically online.#and his audience is SO fucking queer#it’s just. sad.#they really really love him. and he’s just out here spreading false ideology that will both abstractly and directly harm them#and I hate that he’s built such a platform on being an asshole- which I normally love- that he’s using this to avoid educating himself#he literally doesn’t even call trans people ‘trans people’ he just says ‘trans’#like. ‘why would Tampax allow trans to be their spokesperson’#dude. cmon.#blithering on#I hate how much he means to people who are queer and how he’s just. being fucking STUPID#god I’m angry at a random dude. fuck me and fuck this dude I’m an asshole and so is he but he’s just. How Beneficial The European Music Concert Registration Can Be?
With so many opportunities to show off their skills and gain recognition, the stage is set for musicians who specialize in wind instruments. Competitions for wind instruments and registrations for European music concerts give them a chance to show their artistry, reach a wider audience, and progress professionally.
European music concert registration
A competition usually challenges an artist to realize a blend between technique, interpretation, and stage presence. Apart from the competition itself, valuable feed-back is obtained by the artists through the judgment by the expert panel that more finely tunes their art. And winning or even taking part in such events usually brings participants greater exposure, which opens up the doors for performance opportunities and other collaborations.
The other significance of Wind instrument competitions, aside from personal recognition, is that it allows for cultural exchange opportunities. It becomes a shared space where musicians of many backgrounds share their versions of classical and contemporary works. Through this interaction, it is through which wind instrumentalists find their community. It helps in the ideas and techniques that enrich them along their musical journey.
Competition in wind instruments and European music concert registration is not just a performance but a tool to grow, gain recognition, and build a legacy. It helps musicians sharpen their skills, become bold, and establish a great position in the competitive music world. Whether it's the thrill of competition or the honor of performing at the most prestigious venues of Europe, these experiences prove to be invaluable steps in any musician's career. Such opportunities need to be taken and treasured as part of a wider artistic journey by any wind instrumentalist and musician seeking to make their mark.
