How to start online music concert
Tumblr media
With the rise of digital platforms and virtual events, online music concerts have become a powerful way for artists to connect with fans, no matter where they are in the world. If you’re thinking about starting an online music concert, whether as an artist, event organizer, or music enthusiast, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get started
1. Choose Your Concert Type and Format
Before diving into the logistics, online music concert you need to establish your concert’s purpose and format. online music concert Ask yourself these questions: Is it a solo performance or a multi-artist event? Will it be live-streamed or pre-recorded?What’s the genre and theme of the concert?
2. Select the Best Platform
There are many platforms available to host online concerts, and the right one depends on your goals and audience size. Some popular choices include:
YouTube Live: A powerful option with built-in monetization features like ads and Super Chats.
Facebook Live/Instagram Live: Great for reaching your existing social media audience, with an emphasis on quick setup and ease of use.
Zoom: Perfect for smaller, intimate shows where interaction with your audience is key.
Twitch: Popular for live streaming and has a strong music community with several monetization options, including subscriptions and donations.
Dedicated Platforms (e.g., Stageit, Veeps): Specifically designed for live concerts, offering ticket sales and fan engagement features.
3. Prepare the Necessary Equipment
You don’t need an elaborate setup to start an online concert, but having the right equipment will make a significant difference in the quality of your event. Here’s what you’ll need:
Camera: A high-definition camera or a good-quality webcam is essential. You can also use a smartphone if it has a good camera.
Microphone: Audio quality is the most important aspect of a music concert. Invest in a high-quality microphone to capture your sound clearly.
Audio Interface: If you’re using professional instruments or equipment, an audio interface will help connect them to your computer for better sound quality.
Lighting: Good lighting can enhance the video quality, making your performance look professional. You can use natural light, ring lights, or softboxes.
Streaming Software: Programs like OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) help you manage your stream, allowing you to add multiple camera angles, graphics, or overlays.
4. Set Up a Virtual Stage
Even though your concert is online, creating a visually appealing performance area will elevate the experience:
Choose a Background: The setting should complement your music. Whether it’s a simple home studio, a well-lit living room, or an outdoor space, make it visually interesting.
Decorations and Props: Add some artistic touches, like posters, plants, or LED lights, to enhance the mood and make your virtual stage look inviting.
Camera Placement: Experiment with different camera angles and framing to capture your performance in a dynamic way.

Back from the dead for more kpop opinions no one asked for but I have to share: Le Sserafim at Coachella edition:
You would think the way people online were talking about this set, the girlies went on stage and BOMBED. I was prepared to watch the worst live set I’ve ever seen. INSTEAD. It was so fun?????? Like incredibly undeniably extremely super fucking FUN!!!!!!!!!! I literally can’t believe the shit yall say on dolly parton’s internet about this group.
Firstly. Since the SECOND I got into kpop all I have seen is endless debate on the overuse of lip syncing and vocal smoothing and loud backtracks etc etc etc and I have always always always been on the side, as someone who has seen quite literally hundreds of live sets, of LIVE. VOCALS. I want to hear breathing I want to hear cracks I want to hear imperfections I want to hear actual singing from a real live person standing on stage. Were their vocals perfect? Obviously not. Were they still giving it their all, dancing at full energy, and putting on an insanely fun show???? YEAH GIRL. Not one person on planet earth bar beyonce can dance at that level and give absolutely flawless vocals and for the energy they were expending the vocals still sounded fine and most importantly, conveyed the emotion of the set they were going for. It was high energy! It was hot and fun! It was a party! Of course they’re going to yell and scream and hype up the crowd and run around, THANK GOD THEY DID.
Secondly, if I had watched it and the crowd hated it and the energy was bad and everything was awkward and weird that’d be one thing. But the ENTIRE time everyone in the crowd was losing their minds, screaming the girls’ names, and SINGING ALONG!!!!!!!! The energy was so good and fun and you could tell everyone there was having a blast which in my opinion is the absolute 100% nonnegotiable most important part of a live set.
Thirdly, I’ve watched all of their encores, other live stages by them, and I feel like I know what they sound like live in general and this was actually truly leagues better than they’ve been in the past and that wasn’t because their vocals were worlds better, they were definitely improved but not by like A TON. what actually made this their best performance I’ve ever seen was how fucking fun the entire set was and how you could tell what they practiced was their actual stage presence and the show they put on and it PAID OFF!!!!!!!!!! The entire thing was just so enjoyable to watch and I truly didn’t want it to end because you could tell they were having so much fun and really working the crowd.
My favorite parts were eve psyche in English, the bit about going out for a drink but then realizing eunchae and kazhua are underage, the live band, THE NEW SONG!!!!!! WHERE THE HECK IS SAKI!!!!!! and of course “Coachella shake some fucking ass”
In conclusion, you guys don’t go to enough live shows, don’t know anything about what makes a performance good, love to be miserable, and hate having fun. I on the other hand, who love to have fun, love talented young ladies putting on a great show, and love live music for all its flaws and imperfections, had an absolute blast watching this set.

(i must be truly missing something because what is the deal with parents fussing about Sabrina Carpenter's tour outfits? they're similar enough to some of Taylor Swift's bodysuits, maybe minus the straps from time to time? is it the garters? both of their looks are just sparkly Esther Williams-synchronized swimmer suits, no? is it the cheeky towel bit at the beginning? it's literally like a "Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee" sleepover look - which is fun!!)

idk with all the discourse about who's allowed to sing and who not, I feel like a lot of people forgot why humans sing in the first place, where singing comes from culturally...
Especially the Thai culture and fandom reminded me of that you do not have to be a perfect singer to have fun with each other. Singing is originally a fun or emotional activity to share vibes with your group, village, tell stories. (side note: the pagan folk genre is basically also a good witness of the past in that regard)
The whole Thai actor fan meeting and concert habit seems to be a very Thai culture thing just mixed with pop culture and capitalism.
Observing the Thai folks I see at my local yearly Thai festival, they are very similar. They still party hard even if the singer is not that good. They constantly go to the stage to slip the singers some money or gifts, request them to sing certain songs.

Armys spending weeks or a month boycotting Hybe, the member's merch and new projects (even though they NEVER boycotted during Golden), demanding they get rid of Scooter Braun and stop working with zionists (even though, AGAIN, they had NO problem with them during Seven, 3D, Justin Timberlake, or even Usher who publicly showed his support for 🇮🇱 days after announcing the collab between him & Jk).
Meanwhile, Scooty scoot-scoot and Bongo are taking couple pics to post for social media. And if that ain't the biggest SLAP in the face to the fans after all that? …but ya'll still daydreaming with that 2025 reunion like its the Second Coming of Christ.
Lets be brutally honest here, BTS coming back from "hiatus"/Military Service ain't gonna fix shit. WHY? Because Hybe, Bongo and 🛴 only care about MONEY. They don't give a shit what the fans want, they don't give a shit what's going on in the world or that they're contributing to it, because all they hear is KA-CHING KA-CHING$$$.
In fact they never did. It only became more obvious the minute that 🛴became ceo of Hybe America.
So either keep wasting your energy boycotting forever with your hashtags (which get deleted off social media cause Hybe has THAT much control to do so) and harassing/bullying other fans on twitter.
OR! Y'know, learn to boycott the old fashion way:

"oh my soul, is it here? or is it rotting somewhere with my head?"
#rtc#rtc musical#ballad of jane doe#? i think those are the tags? got into rtc over the december break and like. headless blorbos ig#it's oddly similar to six in the sense that six dead people have a concert competition with varying contexts#considering my prev obsession with cats the musical maybe there is a common trend here#hm. anyways!! found the ballad of jane doe online and spooked myself watching it at 3am and in hope to combat the terror (i am not good with#the horror genre. i'm fantastically awful i Will Cry) i went to watch like. the chaos compilations and read ao3 fics to yknow. make it less#scary. so like! yes?? rtc is a good musical. the greatest of my brainrot for it is over but it is really quite fun nonetheless. i may have#added another slime tutorial to my collection.#in terms of current brainrot. i am. a bit (read: maybe a Lot) thinking too much about dovesso. ??why is lesso so attractive in the movie??#truly it is a specific mood when it's like. this character is so?? so akshdhdjsj but also clearly they belong in otps with other characters.#idk how to describe it lmao! anyway the school of good and evil movie (i just watched it) came and called me a useless gay in multiple fonts#as one of my irl friends likes to say. women✨✨#mkay this shall end the tag ramble. thank you for enjoying the last khoward post we're back to just doodles now#(but seriously thank you i look into the tags and just go 'hehehe' :>>>>> it's nice)#along with miscellaneous not six musicals i might be going back into a firebringer tangent?? idk the plot bunnies are varied and plenty

The Me who bought tickets to see TMBG in february 2023 and the Me who's going to actually go to the show next month are two completely different people
#slash extremely negative#it's funny to actually live this whole sort of cliche of: the time between buying tickets and going to the show can be so absurdly long#with what was supposed to be my 1st 'real' concert no less#'i bought the tickets as a teenager but i'm going to see them in my 20s etc' and stuff like that#and then when it gets rescheduled too... well. a year and 9 months is in fact a pretty long time!!!#and i'm not even talking about rescheduling due to covid because god at least i didn't have to deal with that i guess#(it IS funny though that by the time the 30th anniversary of flood tour ends#flood will be 2 months away from turning 35. so yeah lmao a lot happened in the meantime huh)#anyways day two of going crazy going insane for no reason other than well i guess that's just my life now!!!!! 😃😃😃#me when i say i'll stop documenting my rapidly progressing mental breakdown online and then keep doing it anyway#but idk maybe this will heal me in some way. my only hope rn no joke#and my mom actually seemed to be unsure if i we should book the hotels and stuff because. ig i'm this obviously unwell even over the phone#but BY GOD this is the only thing i can really look forward to right now i really need this to survive#(trying to forget how i was doing in september of last year when they rescheduled the tour#and i couldn't even be sure if i'd ever get to see them in the end lollllll#and at the heights of my tmbg obsession this was my number 1 dream. i mean it still is)#also i think i'm finally entering my tmbg autumn era now with some more frequent listening after not doing so for a while#how could i let myself pretty much forget that i love tmbg??? and that their music is so good and makes me happy???#they're still my fav band of all time just like they were back then. THAT didn't change at least#it's just that now they share that spot with sparks also lol. can't choose between them and why should i anyway#what else. ig i just hope i get the energy to finally draw tomorrow at least#because if i don't turn the ideas i have into reality then they will never become real! and that would be so sad#so maybe this can be my main reason to continue for now. whatever#goosepost

Concert in VRchat tomorrow night, March 30th at 10:30 Eastern.
Live music performance without having to leave your home.
VRchat is a game that can be played with or without a VR headset, they even have an android app though I don't recommend it.
In game the group is Midnight Munchies which you can search for and join the instance off of, or search for the midnight munchies theater world and join the midnight munchies group instance.
They also have a twitch which is midnightmunchiesmanifesto. So you can watch without being in VRchat.
Links in a reblog because I know Tumblr is weird about links.

sooo it’s been a couple of days since I went to Miku Expo and like… I think I’m still reeling from the fact that I actually went since I’ve been listening to vocal synth music since my childhood and I never expected that I’d actually be able to go to one of these concerts?
some thoughts and highlights under the cut!
the show I went to was sold out (in D.C.) and I stood in line + waited for like, 6 or 7 hours? but I had so much fun that it was worth it!
I helped some people put film inside their penlights, and it was nice chatting with them while we were waiting!
some groups of elderly people who were hanging out in the area were confused about what was going on and after asking some concert-goers to explain they started laughing LMAO (some puzzled passerby’s asked me too and I just said “oh it’s a J-pop concert!” because I didn’t want to go into what Vocaloid was in full detail haha)
there were so many cute cosplays there; I saw a lot of people in Miku’s Vampire outfit and was surprised to also see an Oliver cosplayer, there were also some dressed as Project Sekai characters too!
before the show, every time someone in the audience held up a Miku plush, everyone around them would cheer and hold up their penlights
some people also brought Miku plushes that were bald and whenever they held up those, everyone would shout “BALD, BALD, BALD!” (and I heard someone say “MY EYES!!!”)
the songs the crowd were the loudest for were Miku, Vampire, and World is Mine (it was… so loud during World is Mine LOL)
Kaito fans were being Kaito fans when he did his solo (ILY Kaito fans you’re so iconic) and there was also a notable amount of hype when Luka’s solo finally happened since it took until halfway through the show to get to her
I know the setlist was quite controversial when it was released online but I honestly liked hearing it in person, I feel like the band really elevated the experience (kudos to them!), I really liked how they played for Literacy and Hyper Reality Show in particular
and maybe a hot take but the screen wasn’t… that bad to me? but that was also because I was in the very front and the venue put lights around the stage as well, so I may be biased
