Oki so like The Hobbit BotFA is on rn, I’m not watching it tho cuz certain people are dying (you know who) and I noticed something in this scene:
Basically, when Bilbo comes out and is like “Thorin!”, Thorin instantly turns around and looks at him with what I personally think is shock and adoration.
Because Thorin had literary nearly threw Bilbo to his death, and yet Bilbo is back, calling for him.
And then it looks as if Thorin is approaching Bilbo, like he wanted to maybe hug him or hold him or apologise or whatever. But you can clearly see him going for Bilbo.
But then Bilbo moves like “it’s not the best time currently” kinda thing, and carries on with why he’s here. But, you can see when Bilbo moves away Thorin instantly stops and listens. But it’s a very abrupt stop, maybe for a second thinking “is Bilbo scared of me?” Kinda thing??? Idk, but he stops instantly for whatever reason, so there has to be something behind that.
And that’s that for me. If you have any thoughts on it pls share! I wanna know others opinions :)
#kinda did a deep dive#I could’ve gone on but I’m in an online lesson#but it was clear thorin was going towards bilbo#thorin oakenshield#bilbo baggins#bagginshield#the hobbit

so we all know that the 36 Lessons of Vivec is considered Vivec's confession- and apology. But what I think yall are sleeping on is the Fables of Almalexia, both the Homilies and the Fables for morning, afternoon, and evening.
Each story in the four books written by Almalexia ends with a moral or lesson, and it is not uncommon for one of the Tribunal to feature in the stories as well. While a few lessons are based on real world fables (such as the Boiled Kagouti or the Gifted Guar), many of the others had lessons that directly related to the flaws and stories of the Tribunal. I think these fables that likely every dunmer child who went to temple heard, were all confessions of their own, and warnings just the same as the 36 Lessons.
Obviously, I don't care about all of these, you can read them yourself and come to your own conclusions, (hell, even synthesize them with some of the 36 Lessons, that would be fascinating for me to read) but I do want to talk about a few of them.
"Sotha Sil and the Scribs" has the moral "And so Sotha Sil discovered that the idle amusements of one may be the solemn tortures of another.", and looking on Sil's character in The Elder Scrolls: Online it is obvious that he sees mortals- even his own disciples- as somewhat lesser than him. And as a god, this belief is not wholly undeserved. Sotha Sil is significantly more powerful, older, and in many quantifiable ways *better* than the mortals he rules, that's just in the territory of being a god. But when the mortals- the scribs, in the fable- suffer, Sil is at best distant and apathetic, seeing suffering as not only not his responsibility, but also inevitable. Luciana Pullo's diary shows us a lot of what this looks like from the perspective of a mortal, even a powerful, interesting mortal that Sil obviously respects.
in "The Tallest Shroom Beetle", a beetle ""ascends"" by climbing, and is killed by a cliff racer. The moral here is stated to be "forsaking one's nature brings nothing but ruin." which would read as terribly hypocritical if taken at face value. The Tribunal, who were once mortals, warning others not to forsake their natures, to me more likely shows regret than hypocrisy.
In "The Friendly Alit" the lesson we are to learn is that "that which we hate in ourselves is often our greatest gift". Sotha Sil is the easiest to compare this to when we see his relationship with time- more on that later. I have thoughts on Almalexia that cannot be summed in a tumblr post about childrens fables, but believe me when I say I've been thinking about her. Despite this, I don't have an answer for what Almalexia might hate most about herself- she is the member of the Tribunal that we know basically nothing about before she becomes a god, her backstory being swallowed by her marriage to Nerevar. She is basically shown as having no weaknesses, and her actions are difficult to interpret even at face value.
Certainly related is the idea of Almalexia or one of the other Tribunal admitting their flaws (it is worth noting that in the Homilies, Almalexia is directly cited as the author, whereas in the Fables for Morning, Afternoon, and Evening, there is no author given. We have *assumed* that these were written by Almalexia, I mean, her name is on the cover, but it is only listed as a group of fables.)
in "The Crow and the Netch" the moral is "none can change their own weakness". Once again I think this is related to the hindsight we see in "The Friendly Alit", which seems to suggest that, if we are to seriously consider these fables, they might show the regret of the Tribunal. Each sees themself as weak in their own way, and even after sacrificing everything to destroy that weakness, they are still the same.
Related, in "The Child of the Councilor", the lesson learned is "We often forget to be thankful for what we have, when thinking only of what we want."
Many of the Homilies can be seen as confessions of regret, hindsight regarding limitations, and most importantly, flaws. I will probably end up writing an essay on this when i get around to it because I'm really normal

The Green brothers are doing effective altruism better than maybe 95% of people who identify online as effective altruists.
#I know it's cringe to be into vlogbrothers in 2024 but I'm incredibly impressed by JG's swerve into fighting global health inequities#and last week's news about their commitment to funding TB prevention was really cool#also I have a lot of respect for creators who seem able to continue to build online communities focused around optimism and trying#to do good in the world in a way that seems genuine--because I've realized how much intentional effort that must take#when social media writ large seems to skew towards either reactionaries or doom and gloom#VB was formed in an era where everyone had a lot more earnest hope in the potential of the internet and (with multiple evolutions)#they've kept going through a seismic change in the way we relate to social media and the creator economy. it's interesting#also I think it's interesting JG is doing his best work 10+ years out from his peak fame. life lesson there maybe

This community really needs a lesson in consent.
Tickling your friends who don't know about you liking tickling/having a blog and then going online posting about it or sending people asks about it is creepy as fuck.
If they cannot consent to you posting this you shouldn't be posting it or sending it to other blogs.
Imagine it was the other way around and they had a blog where they went in debt about how flustered they got when you hugged them. How it felt and how it made them feel and then a bunch of strangers online comment on it and encourage them to hug you more and tell them about it etc.
No matter what tickling is to you, you should be honest to friends about it if you post about them online. This is obviously not including you maybe telling a story from like 10 years ago.
I am talking about people who are baiting people into tickling them without letting them know what this really means to you.
Same goes for posts giving tipps on how to get people to tickle you without you telling them how much you like it. Like can you not realise how creepy that is?
Consent is key, even outside of fetish and kink.

oh btw! MY RIDDLER COSPLAY!!! this was my first time going to any sort of fan-con, thus, it was my first time cosplaying at a big event, and i had so much fun!!
it's not super elaborate, but i got a ton of compliments and four people came up to ask for photos! (one of them being an absolutely ADORABLE Robin cosplayer - genuinely, not in a weird way, they were just really really cute 🥺 i didn't even think to take a pic of my own with them before we'd both walked away and i didn't see them again. sad...)
my official cosplay tips: don't wait until the last minute and end up having to buy a $3 plastic hat from the party supply store. it gets inordinately sweaty in there. also, when making gloves, they need to be bigger than you think. yes, even when you think you've added enough extra room. add more.
edit: fixed the alt text bc i somehow forgot to mention the coat entirely 😭

Sometimes while reading something, even a text or comment, we may pick up on the lines that unconsciously trigger us or give us some type of emotions, and react only to those. Remind yourself to take a breath before answering something or giving your opinion only based on that sudden feeling. Maybe there's also a different way to read those words or a different meaning hidden in the rest of the message; maybe the other person means more than that but in that moment your mind doesn't let you see it and it's okay. Give the text another read while trying to be objective, if you think it's necessary. And if you think it may help you understand more of yourself too.

OKAY FUN speculation time!
I suspect that they're going to do Rio's big reveal next episode since it's the ep before the two-parter finale and it just makes sense to generate peak buzz for the final week of the show.
Also, they've been building on the same bones as Wandavision and we had the "Agatha All Along" reveal at the end of ep 7. It's not a 1:1 match but the bones are definitely there.
So I wondered, hm can Aubrey Plaza sing?
youtube
Guys I will DIE (and it will be glorious) if they get Rio to do a number as part of her reveal.
#agatha all along spoilers#agatha all along#aaa meta#I will be deceased and that would be entirely on brand for the reveal#imagine Rio singing about how they're all gonna die#there’s also a funny interview clip online with Plaza talking about#how she was made to do singing lessons for a movie#and it was not her thing lol

I finally decided to watch (torture myself) a chinese drama after taking a rest from the genre for a couple weeks (aka after finishing war of faith) and my lucky pick was till the end of the moon based only on 1) a post i read a long time ago about how interesting ep 1 was for a xianxia 2) 40 ep sounded like a good number (i was a fool) and 3) it really has a pretty op. And here i am. I went completely blind and im really glad i did? After finishing it yesterday (and crying my eyes out just as many times as the characters spitted litters of blood) i did my regular well lets see what other ppl thought of it in the trusthworthy internet and afsghjsjs its actually incredible how bad some ppl are at consumming media and making tantrums bc things dont happen exactly as they wanted them to. The ed was enjoyable, i expected far worse, and it even alludes with zero subtely to the original novels ending (that i just learned about) but somehow ppl still act as if it was an absolute garbage can when even i, a total blind watcher, could tell it leaned strongly to the happy ending a lot of ppl were crying about being robbed of???????? And convincing ppl to never watch it bc of their own biased pre conceptions about it??????? Pls. How utterly annoying. Till the end of the moon is a fantastic emotional rollecoster that production troubles aside manages to have you totally invested for 40 ep with an ending that in no way "ruins the whole show" just bc it didnt follow the exact step by step detailed recreation some ppl apparently needed? Pls first watch the ending of the rebel and then start talking about a truly bad executed "bad ending".
#till the end of the moon#i binged it in 4 days and im still in awe at how much 40 episodes encapsulating 3 lifetimes can make me feel#then i got online read the discourse on the time it was airing and oh girl. Thank god i watched it now.#Also those same ppl who cry about not having a GE (it literally has a very hopeful ending i dont feel like we watched the same show)#are the same that hated the dream arc and agshdjd sorry that alone makes their opinions invalid#the lesson of the day: never put stock on what angry ppl on the internet tell you about a piece of media#you have eyes and a brain perfectely capable of letting you watch and form your own opinions and judgment#other ppl opinions are overrated the number 1 critic of anything has to be you

How You Can Improve Your Life? Tarot
Choose A Pile 1 - 2 - 3
PILE 1
Hi there, sweetheart! Here we go. Advices for you: Trust your intuition and listen to your feelings. Sometimes personal growth happens when we follow our heart (subconscious mind) rather than our head (conscious mind), because the subconscious mind keeps all keys to your true life purpose and unlimited power. Look deeper. Majority of people don't know who are they for real. They are terrified to figure out the truth about themselves. It's time to meet with your inner child. Also if there's a creative or emotional pursuit you've been considering, now may be a good time to explore it. Learn how to blend the emotional intelligence with the clear-mindedness. You need to balance between heart and mind. Create a strategy for you life. Make decisions with a clear head, but don't forget what does your inner child want, communicate your boundaries effectively and don’t be afraid to cut out things/people from your life that no longer serve your higher purpose. Let go of past grudges, outdated beliefs or old hurts that are holding you back. Learn from the past, it's equally crucial to live in the present and plan for the future. By releasing the past, you create space for new, positive experiences to enter your life.

PILE 2
Hi there, darling! Here we go. Advices for you: Recognize your own potential and the resources available to you. You have everything you need to create the life you desire. Remember that you are a master of your destiny. Trust in your skills and abilities. If there's something you want to achieve, know that you have the power to make it happen. Check all your desires, there are some that don't belong to you. Your soul don't want approaching it, so you may fail a lot. Always seek to improve and expand your knowledge. Examine the parts of your life where you might feel stuck or overly dependent, whether that's a toxic relationship, a harmful habit or a limiting belief of any kind. It's crucial to free yourself from these chains. Also a shadow work may be beneficial for your journey. Focus more on building a stable and secure foundation for your life. Make wise investments or simply cultivating a more stable and grounded approach to life. Look for opportunities to grow and prosper, but always with a sense of responsibility and practicality. Additionally, don’t forget to share your wealth, whether it's through monetary means, time or knowledge. Money is an energy.

PILE 3
Hi there, sunshine! Here we go. Advices for you: Celebrate your accomplishments (small or big) and take a moment to recognize how far you've come. Remember that every ending is a new beginning. Embrace the cyclical nature of life and prepare for new challenges and opportunities. Every challenge is an opportunity for personal growth. By traveling and discovering something new you can develop and improve yourself quicker. Be ready to act quickly and adapt to changes. If opportunities come your way, don't hesitate and seize them. If you've been waiting for a sign to move forward with a plan or project, this might be it. Stay informed and alert. Channel your energy and drive in productive ways. While it's beneficial to be ambitious and to go after what you want, it's equally essential to think things through. Create a strategy in order to reach a goal.
