Reviews from Last Week
The Forgotten Goddess - Rebekah Sinclair âïžâïž đĄïž This reads like a YA fantasy. Like if you had told me that this was written in 2010 and the FMC has a very "Chosen One" Mary Sue typeset, I would never had picked it up. It's like Throne of Glass made awkward and uncomfortable love with any copy-paste dystopia from the 10's and you've got The Forgotten Goddess.
The relationships were like the most frustrating part. It's tagged as a romantasy so I was expecting lackluster world-building and half-done characterizations, but how do you write relationships so 2 dimensional that they are threatening to give back another dimension. A little torture between people who only know the other's first name? Now best friends. Dude was in love with his fated mate and just absolutely torn up about it 400 years later? Give it a chapter and all of a sudden he's over his dead mate. WITH NO EXPLANATION. No building. No chemistry. Just mediocre.Â
2 stars and that was being generous because if it was labelled as Young Adult fantasy, it would fit that genre perfectly.
One Pucking Wish - Ellie Wade âïžâïžâïžâïž đThis series is just so easy to read. It's such a cozy read, even the angsty backgrounds of the characters just doesn't seem high stakes. Gunner and Penny have all the chemistry. I wish the relationship was built a little more. Gunner seemed to go from absolute hatred to lusty-liking with absolutely no reasoning.
I'm not mad about it at all. I just wanted it to be longer to be honest. Gunner and Penny were perfect. They were so similar while also being different enough that it didn't feel like one person dating themself.

played around with a stick and puck for the first time ever today!!
so i checked out a new rink (as one does), and the open skate ended up being a few older guys who like to shoot pucks around and stuff. they bring out a net and those cool bumper pass things and some cones and pucks, and so i was like puck!! puck!! puck!! and was kicking around a puck in the corner having the time of my life, and this one guy was like "hey, do you want to try my stick?" and i was like omg yes pls
so then i tried his stick and i was like this is so cool and so he went found me a stick from the lost and founds (wayy too short like it was definitely made for kids) and!! it was amazing!!
dudebro chatted with me about stickhandling and taught me how to pass - so cool!! like i can't say how excited i was!! these men were so friendly and so nice and inclusive and i loved it!! like it was apparently a pretty tightly-knit group without many newcomers and they were so welcoming!
i've been on the fence about trying out playng hockey because it's such a big investment to get all the gear to even try having a puck and stick in hand (all the rinks ive been to require full equipment to even be on the ice with a puck so ive never gotten the chance before). But! now i have gotten a taste of the wonders of hockey!!!
and now a few things i noticed as a complete newbie stickhandler:
it is very hard to even do a crossover while still keeping control of a puck. like you think, "oh i can do crossovers with my eyes closed, this will be easy." No. No it will not. my hand-eye coordination is absolute shit so it was a struggle to do any type of sharp turn without losing the puck entirely despite my pretty decent skating skills
it is also not easy to just kick a puck around. pucks are wild little beasts that just want to go everytery where you are not. my respect and awe of players who use thier skates to bounce the puck onto their stick has increased tenfold
two (2) guys asked me very seriously how i hold the shovel when i shovel snow. do you know how hard it is to visualize your own grip on a snow shovel out of hte blue? i have shoveled snow. i have shoveled snow Recently. and yet i completely blanked like idk man i just shovel it. Anyways, this is apparently a the way you determine if you are a righty or lefty for stickhandling (i think i am a righty but idk)
i did not know that sticks had a curve on the blade.. i mean objectively i knew that different sticks were different but i never made the connection until i was staring at a bunch of sticks up close
you don't have to know jack shit about what you are doing!! i had an absolute blast just shoving pucks around! you won't see me doing any sort of wild puck handling moves (or even skating very fast with a puck lol), BUT you will see me having an absolute blast!!
All in all, it was an amazing experience, and i felt like i needed to document it somewhere bc i am nothing if not a sucker for looking back on first impressions!
#sheep rambles#sheep plays hockey#<- new tag looking good!!#<< i am planning to get equipment soon so i can actually learn how to play hockey! and maybe even play a game!!#my real goal is to do cool hockey drills lol#last night i spent 3 hours watching goalie training camp videos on yt#i am not a goalie#nor do i ever wish to be one#but by god do i want to do some cool ass drills!!#i want to skate well AND know how to use a puck!#it is time to stop living vicariously through yt compilations#!!!

gojo in this fic:
ACT I. don't puck around and find out!
"i ran into gojo today," choso says, his voice as unbothered and monotone as ever, scraping the gravel lazily with the heel of his scuffed combat boots, "or he ran into me."
"gojo satoru?"
"how many gojos do we know?" your twin brother huffs, giving you a dry side-eye. but before you can retort something equally acrid, he's yanking at the sleeve of your sweatshirt, halting you midstep, "wait. car."
you blink out of your tired daze just in time to see a battered camry putter past, its engine groaning like it's on its last legs. just how you feel after a long day of seminars and lectures. the car rattles down the street with the grace of a tin can tied to a string.
"thanks," you mutter, half-heartedly as you shift your laptop case from one tired arm to the other, "could have been the end of my genius academic career."
"would have been a short one either way," choso quietly quips, earning himself a sharp elbow to the ribs.
"so?" you press on.
"so, what?"
"what did gojo say?"
"ohhh," choso drawls, in that irritating way of his that indicates he has no idea how to deliver good gossip, news or any form of tea, "he asked if i wanted to play hockey for his team tomorrow. they're down a player ever since kento went on exchange."
"hockey?" your eyebrow arches, and skepticism curls your lips for choso is hardly known for his athleticism. you mean, you're sure he has the physical ability in him somewhere but you (and the rest of the world) are yet to see it, "are you gonna join the team, then?"
not that you care about gojo's stupid, state-tournament winning team. of course not. you're just curious. and curiosity is harmless.
it has nothing to do with the fact that you woke up last night wanting to jump gojo satoru's bones. just like you did the night before, and before. and the week before that. yeah, suffice to say that this has been going on for a while.
"nah," choso says, shaking dull, greasy strands of dark hair out of his eyes, "got placements tomorrow."
right. placements. choso's all about pathology and lab medicine and test tubes, while you get queasy at the mere mention of haemoglobin. and it unsettles you mildly at how your twin brother's eyes light up at the mere mention of a blood test.
"and?" you prod when he starts to drift off again, his attention wandering like it always does.
choso is often like a calm river. slow, broad and lazy.
this time, you pull at his one of his headphone cords to reel him back, "did gojo say anything else?"
choso gives you that dull look, quiet but loaded. like he's already solved a puzzle that you didn't know you were trying to hide. it just makes your stomach twist, "why do you care what gojo satoru says?"
"i don't," you snap, far too fast, like your tongue is racing your brain to a crash site. the lie sits heavy in your throat, thick and obvious.
choso's pale and dry lips twitch, and you wondered what happened to the lip balm you threw into his christmas stocking last year, "should i have told him you could sub in for his team instead?"
"no-one likes a smartass, cho," you grumble, speeding up your steps as your twin leisurely rummages through his fraying backpack for his house keys. you roll your eyes and push ahead, jamming your own keys into the lock before you die of boredom waiting for him to dig through the trash heap that lies at the bottom of his bag, "anyway, i was just asking. you brought gojo up."
choso trails behind you, his tone infuriatingly casual, "you always get weird when someone mentions him. i thought you guys were friends."
"we are friends. and i don't get weird."
"you get so weird. even yuki said so."
"i love yuki, i do. but she has no idea what she's talking about â"
the door swings open, cutting off your false deflection. standing there is yuuji, with half a sandwich dangling from his mouth like he's some kind of feral creature. there's a smear of mayonnaise clinging to his cheek as he yanks a red, track hoodie over his tank top.
"mmph! hey, you guys!" he muffles through a mouthful of bread, waving at you with the enthusiasm that only a teenage boy could muster after inhaling half the fridge.
"where are you off to?" you peer at your younger brother, your eyes zeroing in on his mutilated sandwich. a sandwich that you're certain you made for yourself this morning, leaving it for a study session upon your return.
"track practice," yuuji says, swallowing the last bite whole, "then dinner with fushiguro and kugisaki." he's already halfway down the driveway, sneakers untied and laces flopping on the pavement behind him.
choso narrows his eyes, "got money? or a water bottle? a hat? did you wear sunscreen?"
"i'm good!" yuuji calls back without breaking stride, waving a quick hand at the two of you.
"why don't you hold his hand and walk him to school, mother?"
"shut up," choso grumbles as he brushes past you into the house, throwing you an exaggerated scowl of wounded, elder-brother pride over his shoulder, "why don't you hold gojo's hand to hockey practice?"
your bookbag swings through the air, connecting to the back of choso's oversized head and a loud thud follows.
ACT II. long overdue and lacking a spine
you had been in this library for hours, eyes blurring as the words in your textbook stubbornly refused to make sense. it was all a gross blur of terms and diagrams, and your $8.00 coffee had gone lukewarm an hour ago.
study, pass, graduate. get a good gpa. that was the plan, no distractions.
your phone, however, had other ideas as it sat innocently next to your stack of notes. you tapped the screen quickly under the guise of a 'quick break' but before long, you were deep into instagram stories. someone's dog, a flyer for a rave that you definitely weren't going to, and then, of course, him.
gojo satoru. on someone's reposted story with a classic, grainy photo of one of the campus's most darling boys. long arm draped casually over some girl. both of them lit in the neon glow of what looked like a party bus. he wasn't even looking at the camera, just flashing that effortless grin that you had seen your entire life growing up. and the girl was gorgeous, obviously. not that you cared about that.
but speak of the devil and he hath appear. a long shadow fell over the table, and you felt the chill in your bones, trying not to shift in your seat.
"go away, gojo," you muttered, not even deigning to look up.
"how'd you know it was me?" his voice is teasing, all light and airy as he's pulling out the chair next to you.
"what can i say? lucky guess," you reply dryly, keeping your eyes glued to the suspiciously-stained textbook. worried that you'll look up and your iron resolve will disappear from one glance at big, blue eyes.
but out of the corner of his eye, you try not to twitch at the sight of the soft, pale blue hoodie that swallows his broad frame whole. thick, white strands of hair that fall gently over his face. and that cloying scent of mint and something faintly sweet that leaves your ears hot and your heart sitting in your throat.
study, pass, graduate. get a good gpa. that's what you tell yourself in a now failing mantra.
"are you following me today?" you ask, flipping a page with exaggerated nonchalance, like you're not about to tear up pathetically from a stupid crush.
"caught me," gojo says, the grin audible even in his voice, "i just couldn't resist finding you. is that what you want me to say?"
you finally look up, swallowing at unfairly fine features, "saw you were at some party yesterday. i didn't think you'd be on campus today."
gojo just laughs, the sound soft and infuriating, "keeping tabs on me now?" and he's rifling through his bag for something, "or you don't think the library's a good look for me? i'm broadening my horizons. testing the waters."
you narrow your eyes, willing the heat rising in your face to stay put and not crawl into your voice, "i think you're testing my patience. i have a test tomorrow, so if you're here to waste my time..."
"maybe i just wanted to hang out with my friend," gojo says, tearing open a kitkat wrapper in an obnoxious way that echoes through the silent hall, and the crinkle of plastic grates against your nerves, "we haven't seen each other in ages."
"don't you have a lot of other people to hang out with nowadays?" you're mentally beating yourself with a bat at your question, wincing at how it sounds like you keep count of who he hangs out with, and you're pathetically down bad for him. like a 90s singer begging on his knees for a kiss.
"i mean, i could hang out with them," gojo says, breaking his kitkat horizontally like a monster, "but they're not you."
his sunglasses are gone, revealing eyes so blue they look otherworldly, and he's throwing you that smiling, lopsided grin that makes your heart run around a room and bang into the walls. but no. you were not going to let gojo satoru get to you. he probably made every girl feel like this, like they were the centre of his fast-paced universe. until the next shiny thing came along.
besides, gojo satoru dated models. or stunning cheerleaders. the kind of people who looked good under strobe lights, and in the glow of his party bus digital camera pics.
and hey, it's not like you were self-depreciating or awfully insecure. you liked who you were and you would never change it for anyone. quiet and ambitious. reserved, but down for some fun. you'd like to think you were the type of person who saw the world in a beautiful, cinematic light. but it was maddening how gojo satoru seemed to bring out the most juvenile issues in you that had your stomach turning itself into ugly knots.
"gojo," you try to sound as nonchalant as possible, "are you even here to study?"
as in why are you really here? please ask me out.
gojo looks unbothered, unshaken, "coffee. cake. maybe even some flirting, if you're up to it."
the universe hates you. it has a way of delivering what you want right into your hands, when...you don't exactly want it.
you blink at the white-haired man, disbelief bubbling under your skin, "you're not serious."
"why wouldn't i be?"
"c'mon, satoru. everyone knows you're not the actual dating type. you ever been in a relationship that wasn't pr and lasted for more than two weeks?"
absolutely bonkers at how your heart and your tongue are not on the same wavelength at all. it's like your mouth missed the memo and is just firing bullets that have gojo's grin faltering a bit, as a flicker of heated annoyance flashes in his eyes. even hurt, but it's gone too quickly for you to read into it.
"didn't realise that you thought i was that much of a joke," and you're not fond of how gojo's voice is quieter now, and a pretty sneer is dancing across his lips. you're biting your lip before you lose your stupid, petty resolve to not get involved with someone who could truly break your heart.
"if you didn't make everything a joke, it wouldn't be," you snap at him, and you're not even sure what you're angry at. there's no reason to be annoyed, or frustrated or even hurt and snippy with a friend who came and sat with you to catch up.
but you don't want to untangle whatever you're projecting onto gojo satoru, so you let bitter words spill over, "some of us don't have time for your games, gojo. we have real lives to deal with."
gojo's expression shifts completely, and that playful spark in his eyes is replaced with something colder as he stands up and shoves his hands into his pockets, "right." and his tone is clipped, pissed, "got it. no time for games."
you watch as gojo walks away, already tapping away on his phone, but his footsteps are quieter than you expect. part of you wants to call after him, to take back the teeth and claws that painted your words.
but instead, you just look away from him and grimace. you must have pulled an awful, twisted face â for the man sitting across from you leans in and asks if you need to take an aspirin, or if you're low on fibre.
ACT III. between the covers
the bookstore smells faintly of old paper and new ink. a sharp contrast to the chill lingering outside, so the warmth hits you like a welcome blanket. the air buzzes with the muted chatter of customers, and the occasional beep of a cash register.
you're winding your way through the aisles, set on two missions. find that jacket-cover book that you had been wanting for weeks, and to hunt down the manga that yuuji had begged you to pick up for him.
you dart past a couple lingering in front of a 'booktube' bestseller display, narrowing avoiding a child wielding a stuffed dragon that you can only assume is smaug the magnificent from the hobbit. straight into the quieter section of the store, tucked in the back and smack-bang right into â
thud!
your shoulder collides hard with someone else, sending you stumbling back a step.
"fuck's sake. watch it," the person snaps, his tone sharp.
"maybe you should â" you start to retort, before the words die and patter out on your tongue as your mouth goes dry.
gojo satoru, ladies and gentlemen.
he's scowling at you, with sunglasses pushed up onto his head that expose those ridiculously pale eyelashes under the glow of the overhead lights. he's layered on a crisp varsity jacket, over a thick hoodie, all shades of soft blue and grey. and he looks irritated, with thick brows furrowed at you. but you don't miss the faint surprise that flutters across his face when he takes you in.
"seriously?" gojo murmurs, though more to himself, and his voice still holds an edge that has you wilting, "out of all the aisles in this store..."
you blink, caught somewhere between an apology that dances on the edge of your lips, and a bewildered laugh at how the divine powers deliver the worst luck on you. instead, you shove your hands deep into the pockets of your aviator jacket, "sorry. didn't see you."
gojo's shoulders relax, but just barely. as though he's still caught in the heavy fog of tension from your last words to him. but to your mild credit, he doesn't quite look ready to storm out either. progress?
"so. what are you doing here?" you ask, trying to break the ice and pretend that you're not doing internal pirouettes.
"just had to pick up a textbook," gojo mutters, holding up a thin and over-priced looking book on something like...quantum mechanics, "exams are coming up. gotta keep the top spot, you know."
you blink, "you're actually studying?"
gojo raises his eyebrow, lips twitching into the faintest smile, "what? you think i roll into my classes and ace everything through sheer willpower? or i spend all day being a joke and annoying everyone, right?"
you sigh, feeling the frosty, ice-gaze settle once more over you, paralysing you from head to toe, "look, gojo. i don't know what came over me that day," and now you're being sincere, looking away from his narrowed stare, "it's like some crazy, evil monster came over me and it possessed me. i think i incarnated some demon king in me and i said all that mean shit."
he shifts slightly beside you, and you don't miss at how gojo's lower lip juts out at your apology, or how close he is to you right now. "and i was jus' being stupid. swear i don't think you're a joke." you try to pick up some random book, pretending you're very busy as you speak.
but it's very hard to look genuine when you've just picked up a glossy copy of 'stand and deliver: a hard look at fixing male erection problems.'
it earns you a small laugh, light and quick, that has you almost falling to your knees, and you can hear choso's voice in your head. muttering out a dulcet 'i told you so. you want him so bad.' but it's worth it as gojo leans against the nearest shelf, the annoyance from earlier starting to ebb.
and for a moment, gojo studies you and his expression is unreadable. for your part, you're pretending to read the back cover of 'stand and deliver' and some blurb about how this award-winning author managed to help her husband 'get it up' after twenty years of marriage.
but the tension in his posture dissolves, relaxing further and gojo hums, "noted." that's all he says, and an awkward silence hovers. it hovers so uncomfortably, leaving you floundering for a new topic until gojo's voice breaks the silence.
"choso's doing good, yeah? i heard he got a girlfriend."
you smile, "yeah. yuki, she's like really cool. i don't know how he did it."
gojo snickers, "i asked if he wanted to play hockey and i think he's been avoiding me all week."
you try to pretend its not because of how you re-enacted your little spat with gojo, demonstrating the entire thing for your twin brother. who had just called you stupid afterwards. among other not-so-flattering terms, with little consideration for your crushing, beating heart.
"you going to suguru's party next weekend?"
ah, now that's a curveball.
because, again, you are your own brand of cool. or so you'd like to think, so this isn't really a matter of pitying comparison. but geto suguru is like on another level of effortlessly vogue. at least in your eyes. you know that he's gojo's best friend and he delivered a (controversial) and killer project on gene editing last semester. you know that geto's involved with gig photography as a hobby, and thus, has personal access to some of the coolest bands in the city.
and you also know that he occasionally waves a hand to you, but it's not like you actually know the man. it's just mutual association.
"i wasn't planning on it," you hesitate, for you really had been planning to cram through a mid-term session, "but someone asked me to go as their date."
gojo's smile evaporates, "who?"
"naoya zenin," you say cautiously, watching as gojo's face twists. like he's resisting the urge to gag and tear his hair out.
"naoya? he's like a walking billboard for being an entitled cunt," gojo groans, running a hand through glossy hair that has you trailing your gaze over slender, sculpted hands.
you narrow your eyes, "he seemed...okay. smart, i think."
"oh, he's smart. i'm not questioning that," gojo crabs, "he's so arrogant though. i grew up seeing that guy everywhere. our families were like, half friends."
you cross your arms, suddenly defensive, "are you warning me? or just mad that he asked me out?"
gojo seems to flounder for half a second, quick enough that you could miss it and he could deny it, "jealous of naoya? please," and he scoffs as he leans back against the shelf, "i have taste. unlike some people."
"you can't be the one giving me a lecture on dating etiquette. i mean, how many dates do you have lined up for geto's party? two, three?"
gojo gives you a sly grin, "more than that, hah. gotta keep my options open."
"tacky," you wrinkle your nose, trying to pretend that you don't feel like you just guzzled a gallon of curdled milk, "and classless."
"yes," gojo sighs sadly, "and endlessly charming. it's so hard being me," shooting you back a quizzical look as he pulls up to the register, paying for his textbook.
as he paid, you linger near the shelves, pretending to browse while stealing glances at gojo satoru. there was something different about him today, something quieter that you couldnât quite put your finger on.
and on gojo's way out, he pauses in the doorway, turning back to look at you. his expression is still entirely unreadable, his gaze lingering for just a second longer than usual. and then he was gone.
ACT IV. blush confidential
there's a soft hum of pop music wafting from someone's phone, blending in with the rustle of fabric and the hiss of a straightener. your bedroom is a whirlwind of motion and chaos, with clothes thrown over chairs, and pre-game drinks piled up over your vanity.
"i can't believe you're not coming with us," you gripe to yuki, watching as she lounged up on your bed, denim crinkling as she shifted to adjust herself.
"tch, you know i love a good party," yuki grins with sparkling ideas, "but choso and i have a date tonight. he's been texting me about it all day."
you snicke at the thought of your hapless twin, "yeah. he was practically glued to your dm's. ran into the kitchen table twice this morning."
shoko snorts from her spot at the vanity, from where she's running a brush through cropped, chestnut hair, "choso nervous? i need to see that," she catches your eye in the mirror, "do you still have that lip gloss?"
"on it," you're digging into the vast depths of your purse, grazing your wallet and a hal-featen granola bar. stubbing your finger on an opened gel pen, before clutching a small shiny tube that you toss to shoko.
"so," shoko smacks her lips, "how's it going with naoya?"
you blink, pausing in the middle of capping all your drying pens, "what do you mean how's it going? nothing's going."
your friend swivels on her stool, raising a thin eyebrow, "he's your date at this party, right? and why him, of all people?"
"seriously. that guy's got a reputation. and not a good kind, for a very good reason," utahime chimes in from her corner, where she's yanking on a ribbon woven through her hair.
you shrug, suddenly feeling defensive under their collective scrutiny, "hey. he asked, i said yes. it's not that deep."
shoko exchanges a pointed glance with utahime, and both of them looking equally skeptical in a way that has you flushing.
"he's just annoying, you know," shoko points out, "he thinks he's better than everyone else, and half the time? it's just hot air."
"and the other half?"
"still hot air," shoko flatlines, "you can do better."
"anyone's better than gojo," utahime mutters, "you don't want to be stuck with him."
yuki's snickering, and you're doing your utter best to pretend that the mention of gojo satoru doesn't have you crawling up and down the walls like a termite on crack.
"speaking of gojo," yuki drawls, running a comb through a golden sheaf of thick hair, "is he going with anyone to this party?"
you freeze for half a second, before busying yourself with some new body mist that you picked up from a sale, all vanilla and coconut and macademia, "i ran into gojo the other day," and you keep your tone as neutral as possible, "and he said he had a few dates."
"ugh," shoko groans, wrinkling her nose, "of course he does," and utahime mutters an affirmative, exasperated sigh, echoed only by yuki, who pauses mid-brush to look at you sympathetically.
"what?" you snap, defensive, "why are you all looking at me like that?"
shoko tucks a thin strand of hair behind her ear, "well, i mean. you like gojo, right? like really like him?"
"huh?" the question catches you so off guard that you're left sputtering, as the perfume leaves a sharp and awful taste on your tongue, accidentally leaving a fresh spritz into your mouth, and not the curve of your neck.
"oh, blech. absolutely not," you say vehemently, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand, "i don't like him like that. not that i think he's awful or anything â"
utahime crosses her arms, white sleeves brushing against each other, "he is awful."
"yes, thank you for that, utahime. but he's just not my type," you finish firmly, "he's loud. he's disruptive. he can't take anything seriously. i can't date that."
yuki gives you a long and knowing look, "oh, he likes you," she says lightly, as though she's telling you a casual piece of news, and not something that has you biting your tongue till iron spills, "he's been crushing on you for so long."
you feel your stomach twist uncomfortable, like little, evil goblins are dancing in your gut, "that's ridiculous," you mutter, fiddling with the clasp of your purse, "if he liked me, he would ask me out properly. and not date half the student population."
"he probably thinks it's fair, because you keep turning him down," shoko says matter-of-factly, standing up to grab her bag.
"i just don't think he's good for you. or anyone," utahime mutters, earning a pinch from you.
ACT V. stereo love
normally, gojo thrived at these parties. suguru was always able to pull a crowd that straddled the line between chic and cool, with just enough alcohol to keep things interesting. the thrum of the bass-heavy music should have been the perfect escape after a gruelling day spent staring at equations, leaving him half-convinced that his course coordinator was plotting against him and wanted him dead.
but now gojo satoru was just jittery, restless. and he hated that.
so for now, he leaned against the kitchen counter with a full cup in hand, watching people spill out of the living room and into the backyard. it seemed that other students had been aching for a party, something to take them off mid-terms and yet here he was, scowling like a storm cloud. he took another swig of his drink, ignoring how his own stomach was doing unexplained cartwheels.
"you good?"
suguru's low voice cuts through the noise, startling gojo enough that he has to tighten his fingers around his cup so sticky beer doesn't spill over pristine tiles.
gojo waves his closest friend and confidante off, "i'm fine. obviously."
suguru's frown deepens, though it's obscured by his loose, choppy dark hair. and there's skepticism painted all over his face, "you're never this quiet at any party. i thought that by now, i would have had to convince you not to jump off the roof."
"you think too little of me."
"you think too much of yourself," suguru drawls, but he's leaning against the counter beside gojo, as leather and cool metal rustle against each other, "so where's your date? or dates, i should say?"
gojo freezes, his cup halfway to his lip, "come again? what are you talkin' about?"
suguru arches a thin brow, "it's practically all over campus, man. apparently, you had several dates with lovely, young ladies lined up tonight. and i tried to defend your fragile honour, said it was too ambitious even for you. but..."
this revelation hits gojo like a punchline that he wasn't in on, and then it clicks for him. oh, he had started that rumour a few days ago. in the bookstore, to you. his brain replays the scene like a cruel, little highlight reel: the way your expression had wavered minutely, just for a moment, when he had straight up lied and claimed that he had a few dates.
truth be told, gojo had only said it to make you jealous, to see if he could ruffle you and play your game even better.
but now the joke was so clearly on him.
because gojo satoru had no dates. and you? you were here with someone who wasn't him.
suguru's following his gaze across the room, and gojo doesn't even bother to hide his petulant interest. he can see you standing near the back walls, laughing at something that naoya zenin, mayor of all things putrid, had said. naoya, with his stupid green roots and louis vuitton jacket, standing just a little bit too close to you for gojo's liking.
but before he can stew in it any linger, suguru's reaching out and pinching his ear. hard.
"ow! fuck was that for?" gojo's yelping, jerking away from his clearly evil, traitrous best friend.
"that," suguru says evenly, "was for looking like a lovesick idiot. pull yourself together, man."
"i'm not lovesick," gojo weakly protests, rubbing his bruised, throbbing ear and moving further away from suguru geto.
"you're not exactly screaming cool and collected," suguru dryly comments, "sulking like a sore loser while your crush laughs at another guy's jokes."
gojo feels his face heat up, just a little bit, because he knows that suguru's hitting close to home, "i don't sulk and do all that whiny shit. second of all, it's not my fault she went with zenin of all people. it's up to her if she wants to be stuck with someone who talks about his family's real estate portfolio as foreplay."
suguru snorts, and it's clear that he's not playing the role of sympathetic best man for life, "you know what's more obnoxious? watching you fuck around like this. you need to figure out how to ask her properly."
"i did all that!" gojo shoots back, throwing his arms up so his drink dances over the edge of the cup, "she said no. each time. you know what they call a guy who can't take a hint? she thinks i'm a loser!"
"and are you?"
gojo narrows his eyes, "am i what?"
"a loser."
"is it easier for me if i just say yes?" gojo half-heartedly gripes, "is that what you want me to say?"
"or," suguru says calmly, "you're a guy who hasn't proven he's worth saying yes to."
gojo groans, tipping his head back so he can block out the vision of his irritatingly wise best friend, "you sound like my grandmother."
"that's not even an insult. your grandmother is on some metal shit," suguru counters, unbothered, "and you sound like a twelve-year old. you can't flirt and sleaze your way through this. if you want her to take you seriously, i don't know how else to say this, you have to stop being...you."
"excuse me?"
"no. stop, don't make that face," suguru scowls, "you know what i mean. stop being a stupid flirt, and be a genuinely better person. otherwise, you're just spinning and burning out your wheels."
"did you pick up a self help book?"
suguru elbows him, sneering, "i'm trying to help you. if you don't want my help, i'm telling her you have an std."
"maybe you should just do that. end my misery," gojo downs the rest of his drink in one go, the burn of cheap beer doing nothing to ease the olympics in his alimentary canal. what's worse is that suguru is right, the bastard always is.
suguru claps him on the shoulder, "relax, satoru. you've got charm in spades. just use it...wisely."
"yeah, yeah. thanks, man," gojo mutters, brushing him off as suguru wanders away, probably to mediate some dumb argument between that big oaf, toji fushiguro and the even bigger oaf, ryomen sukuna. honestly, why were they even invited?
but gojo stays where he is, eyes flicking back to you. away from the distracting curve of your thighs in that skirt, and rather on how interested you look in naoya's stupid, animated gestures. and you look so at ease, but there's something hot and sharp twisting inside his gut.
suguru's soft, measured voice echoes in his head, "prove yourself as a person first."
oh, yeah. gojo could do that. he would absolutely do that. for you, he'd do just about anything, short of donating his vital organs (but he would definitely be considering it). but how hard could it be to be better? more mature? more grounded?
gojo satoru can handle all that. all he had to do was be a dignified, charming man. you know, someone who puts his best foot forward into the world. someone that you might actually consider taking seriously. someone calm and respectful.
if you were happy with naoya zenin, then who was he to interfere? who was he to ruin that for you? even if the guy looked like wile e. coyote when he smiled. even if naoya zenin was the most smug bastard to walk the earth.
gojo scowled at nothing in particular. but the point was that it wasn't his place to meddle. not if it meant risking your happiness. all he could do was be the best version of himself. polite, kind and above reproach. a good and respectful friend.
ACT VI. a shot of love, on the rocks.
"please, i want you so fuckin' bad."
gojo satoru is on his knees. at a party, in the middle of the living room. for you.
you feel like your mind isn't able to process all this fast enough, like your brain is on some pause. the music is still thumping in your head, but not as fast as your poor cardiac muscles as you're rendered frozen from pathetic, piercing blue eyes blinking up at you.
"please," gojo satoru repeats, and his voice vaguely warbles out like he's kinda lost his marbles and â
let's rewind.
five minutes ago, you had been standing with naoya zenin. and despite your initial reservations, you had been entertained. he's sorta witty, and definitely loaded with snarky remarks that cut through the noise of the party. it's hard not to laugh at his biting commentary, although half the time he's skewering people for fun, and the other half? just out of pure spite.
his golden eyes gleam with that edge, the kind of sharpness that makes you think of a hyena circling around its next meal. naoya is definitely full of himself, but it doesn't help that he's also ridiculously good-looking. and he knows how stunning he is, but its bothering him that you're not showering him in enough compliments for it.
still, he's here with you. he's your date. and you're doing your best to remind yourself of that. naoya is the only option you have at the moment, and he's definitely offering you more attention than anyone else tonight.
from across the room, utahime gives you an exaggerated, pained thumbs-up â while shoko shrugs in her usual blithe manner, but she gestures for you to smile more. you plaster on a wider grin, a little too obvious but naoya doesn't seem to notice.
"you know, if you're getting bored of all this, we could always find another room," naoya's low hiss slices right through the bass-thrum of the pulsing room, "do a little more than just talk."
for a moment, it's easy to imagine slipping away with him. but the sharpness in his killer-smile makes something in you bristle, like he's already envisioned you saying 'oh yes, naoya! please take me to bed!' and you shake your head, and give him an amused look.
"maybe later," you say lightly, "not now."
naoya zenin doesn't seem quite offended, but his smile grows wider as he stands up straight again, from where he had curved his tall frame into you, "i'm a patient man. fine by me, 'm gonna get some more drinks."
and you watch as his golden head of hair disappears into the crowd, leaving you all alone while the music blares around you, like a suffocating fog. you rub your temples, wondering if you should just go after naoya and tell him to go to town, something for the night's enjoyment. but before you can go any further, you hear a shout cut through the noise.
"hey!"
you whip around, blinking in surprise at gojo satoru.
but also not quite the gojo that you're used to. the one that you grew up with, and held hands with in kindergarten, one who smiled easy and laughed too loud. it seems he's ditched the oversized hoodies and varsity jackets tonight, opting for a black tee that fits him a little too well and dark cargo pants that only highlight...
you're getting distracted. but it's hard to remain focused, when he's walking towards with you. seemingly determined, as his white hair falls forward over thunderstorm-eyes. for a moment, you're not sure if youâre hearing him over the pounding music, or if it's just your own pulse making everything seem louder.
"i hate that you're here with naoya," gojo says suddenly, and his voice is low and serious, something that you've never really heard from him before.
your brow furrows, "what?"
"i lied about the dates," he continues, as words just jumble out his candy-pink mouth, "i don't have a bunch of dates. fuck, i don't even have one date. i only want to date you."
you blink, and then you blink once more, because again what?
the sincerity in his voice catches you off guard, and for a moment, you think you might have misheard the man. his blue eyes are wide and earnest, and they're staring right at you.
and before you know, he's on his knees. muscular thighs bending so his knees hit the cool tiles with a heavy thud, hands splayed out for you.
"please," he implores, "you gotta understand. i need you to feel what i feel, because it's not even a passin' thought, i swear. it's not even a stupid crush. this is like â" and he's gesturing wildly with one hand, still kneeling like a knight about to beg for his lady's favour, "this is destiny."
"gojo," you manage, "are you on drugs?"
the white-haired man, bless his sassy heart, rolls his eyes, "no. i'm on beer and vodka. will you please let me finish?"
"yes, but what are you doing?" you hiss, exasperated and sibilant, as more eyes turn to the most ravishing man on campus, who's absolutely off his rocker. and there are phones being pulled out, god help you.
"what am i doing?" gojo smiles, and it's unnervingly wide, "i'm like laying it out all here for you. my love. because that's what you are, to me. like you're everything. and i swear everyone knows this already. should i call you my sun, my moon, my entire universe? it's like time stops when i see you, a-and trust me, i do physics. i know time shit," and he must have caught at how your mouth is flapping open because he suddenly wags a finger, "no! i'm not done. i haven't even told you how the world fades, and all that's left is you glowing. like a star that i can't reach."
he's placing a hand on his broad chest, digging into the tight top clinging to his pectorals, like he's being dramatically wounded, "i have to reach you. i have to be with you."
you're not sure what parts you've processed, or what part of this slow train-wreck has settled in your head, "are you, like, actually begging right now?"
gojo's eyes flash with the intensity of a thousand suns (well, fuck â gojo's awful poeticism is rubbing off on you already). you can hear the low snickers of two men that had been beating the living daylights out of each other half an hour ago, those fuckwits that go by toji and sukuna. you can hear sukuna's deep mutters about how no-one ever would like toji enough to do this for him. and yep, you can hear them scuffle again.
"yes!" gojo booms, and more than a few heads have turned now. you wonder if naoya zenin is watching in the background, and realising that this isn't a battle he wants to pick, "i will kneel for you. like i'd do this shit for eternity, even if my knees hurt so bad right now. but as long as you give me a chance to prove my worth. and my devotion, d-don't forget that! deep as the ocean, endless and vast. and the stars align...oh, how they align for us."
"ah, satoru," you cut in, and you realise that you're now smiling. embarrassment and mild humiliation be damned, there's a quirk tugging at your lips, "you can get up now. this is a bit dramatic."
gojo blinks, not missing a beat, "i'm dramatic because i'm in love, okay? and â" he swivels his head to the crowd, grumbling, "shut up, sukuna! i heard that, i'll beat your wonky ass. you don' know shit about love."
he's turning back to you, all sticky and soothing sugar once more, "where was i? eh, my confession. well, it's all for you. and it's me, givin' you every part of me. beggin' you to see that you're the only one who can break the walls around my heart."
you think that you've completed a full speed-run on every stage of grief that there is to experience, and if the small plink! coming from someone's phone is any indication, gojo's monologue has already made it's way onto someone's private story. and so naturally, everyone will have seen it by tomorrow.
"can you get off your knees? you look ridiculous."
gojo's grin falters for a split second before he straights up, all with a hefty groan as he runs a hand through snowy strands, "ridiculous? i'm being vulnerable as hell, and you think i look stupid?"
"a little," you admit, but you're reaching a hand out to push a strand of thick hair out of his eyes. and it's maddening at how gojo seems to tremble mildly under your touch, at the brush of your fingers against his temple, "kneeling at a frat party is crazy work."
gojo sinks his teeth into a plush lower lip, "that was me trying to show how much i care, and all that sweet shit. you make me lose all my cool, and this isn't even a joke."
"you never had cool, and now you've lost your dignity too," but you're blushing, and it's a giddy feeling at how he's now close enough that you can feel his body heat.
gojo satoru's eyes twinkle, "maybe. but i'd do all that again if it won you over."
"with your future oscar nomination?"
the man shrugs, broad muscles rippling, "he who be a fool for love is far better than he who doth never dare to try at all."
"fair point," you murmur, feeling dizzy in that familiar scent of lemon candies and mint, like the world is swirling around in a heady haze, "do you wanna kiss me to seal the deal?"
"yes please. i think i'm gonna pass out and â mmph!"
you've pulled yourself up, and thrown your arms around his warm neck, drawing gojo into you. crashing your lips into his before either of you can say anything else. it's an urgent, reckless kiss. like a dam has burst and all the pent-up emotions that you've been carrying have finally exploded.
gojo's lips are soft, but demanding, taking more and more air from you. they fit against you with an ease that feels almost too natural. and his broad arms come around your waist with a force that leaves the air punched out of you. he's holding you tightly, as though he's afraid that you'll just disappear if he doesn't keep you close enough.
you can feel the heat of his body against yours, the muscles in his arms that flex as he pulls you in, deepening the kiss. all while his mouth moves against yours with a slow and deliberate intensity, as his tongue parts your lips. all so messy.
when gojo finally pulls away, the last brush of his lips catches your quiet whimper. just as his breath goes ragged, and you're left standing there, dazed, with your forehead resting against his. you can still feel the warmth of his lips on yours, that electricity that's crackling and buzzing through your veins as you giggle.
gojo, however, doesn't give you a chance to catch your breath. he tugs your wrist with a sharp, swift motion. but his grip is firm, not harsh as you pulls you away from the living room, "c'mon. let's get outta here."
shoko's eyes are wide, her jaw practically locked in disbelief, "what the hell just happened?"
utahime's lips curl, "someone took gojo's brain out and replaced it with a clone. ah! geto, what did you do?"
suguru has been standing near the kitchen counter, absolutely floored, and he's shaking his head so hard that he feels a headache forming, "hand on my heart, ladies. i told him not to pull any stunts. swear on destiny's child that i didn't tell him to do all that."
ACT VII. i bet we'd have really good bed chem!
gojo satoru has absolutely lost his mind. but you wish that he had lost it a bit earlier, because you're practically pawing at his top now. critically working to make quick work of the tight fabric, letting your fingers run over hard planes of muscles and lower.
right until you're reaching a trail of soft white hairs that disappear into the band of his pants.
"seems like you're just as desparate as me, hah," gojo snickers, and his broad hand is trailing further up your thighs, letting your skirt bunch and crinkle under his ministrations. thick fingers brush over dewy cotton, and you moan.
"s-satoru!"
"you don't even know how long i've w-wanted this," and his hand clenches at the fabric, gripping it so tightly that you fear it may just be on the verge of tearing, but you can only buck your hips into him further.
no longer even mindful of how you must be already dripping onto the palm of his hand, "and i thought you knew. i r-really thought you knew how much i wanted you."
his middle finger is gliding through your damp and searing slit, with clinging strands latching onto his skin as you muffle a whine into his chasing, teasing lips.
it's sending deep, low curls of arousal in thick waves, settling low in your groin and you don't even care what room of the house you're now in, someone's bedroom with a dark, stylish bedspread and vinyls up on the walls.
the force of his large hands drives you down onto the bed, pressing your back onto the soft mattress.
and gojo looks so pleased, at how you're splayed and sprawled out underneath his torso, his hands tugging at your now bare thighs to spread your legs even further. pulling them far enough so they come to rest on either side of his face.
"fuck, she's so pretty. even better than i imagined," and gojo's voice is husky and low, almost strained, "and believe me. imagined her plenty." the sound of drenched cotton being torn rips through the air, slippery and resistant from your arousal.
it's even stubborn as the fabric refuses to budge, until it gives way under the force of gojo's tug, soft and tearing. leaving your pussy open to the cool, cold air. bare for gojo's eyes to rest upon and widen.
his lips brush against your thigh with an uncharacteristic gentleness, one that makes your entrance clench and wink.
but gojo is nothing if not teasing, and he feels light-headed. pressing featherlight kisses to the crevice of your thigh, and then closer to your aching mound. but even he cannot hold off for much longer, and he's pressing a flat, lazy print of his tongue against your cunt.
that first munch sends a burst of tangy sweetness dancing across gojo's tongue, and he thinks he might just bust a load right then and there. the heat of your clenching cunt is almost overwhelming, but hey.
gojo's never been a quitter, and he doesn't care if he creams his pants at this very moment, he needs to hear that sweet whimper of his name from your lips again.
his lips part, blowing a quick breath on your aching clit, right as his fingers begin to press and meld into your syrupy folds. it's got you practically jumping further into him, so wet strands are clinging to the very tip of his nose. and gojo knows that this is heaven. that he's unlocked true paradise.
"satoru, c-can't you...?"
he's too busy running his tongue over your clit, drawing small circles with the very tip of the hot muscle, "can't i what, pretty? don' want me eating you out?"
and you are so adorable, pushing your head up to scowl down at him with furrowed brows, but the flush in your cheeks paints you the most beautiful shade of cherry red. and gojo vows to spend the rest of his life ensuring that this shade never leaves your cheeks.
"can't you get to the eating part? thought that you were gonna â f-fuck! hnngh, 'toru!"
he's pulling your thighs tighter around his head, and he doesn't give a fuck if this is how he goes. suffocated in this tantalising heat, with your fingers lacing themselves into woven patterns in his white hair.
he's lowering his tongue once more into your throbbing pussy, making sure that his pleased vibrations send pleasurable rumbles right through your core.
grinning and slurring his tongue further into you, right as you buck desparate hips over and over. dragging yourself against his chin, so he's sure that the lower half of his face must be glistening with your sweetness.
gojo absolutely thinks he can get used to being like this, at having you angle and force his head further into your cunt. letting you angle and toy at him and use him for your pleasure. he snaps his teeth around glossy strands of arousal, once and then twice, before delving back in.
making sure that his spare hand finds your clit to draw quick flicks and shapes over it, pushing a finger right up against the throbbing hood.
"satoru, ah, satoru! 'toru!" it's all you can even manage right now, just chants and groans of his names, as he's practically sunken your hips into the mattress, while he's on his knees for the second time this night.
"hey, none of that, yeah?" and gojo's gently tugging at your arm. trying to get you to stop muffling your whimpers and cries, because he just needs to hear your adorable sounds. and he needs to hear your bird-like cries when you come undone.
what a joy it is for gojo. to be able to dive between your legs and run his tongue between your folds. he's losing his mind at how your body trembles under his touch, and how he makes the mistake of peering up at you. your lips are parted, open and glossy. and your brows are furrowed, as lashes flutter against your cheek. you have to cum, gojo satoru needs you to cum right now.
and so, he exerts all his effort ten fold into having you finish. it's so sloppy, and so messy. gojo lets his own eyes dip shut, letting himself feel your glossy, glistening cunt pulse around his tongue. and let there be no doubt that gojo satoru is a munch, for he's eating you out in such an ardent manner, and it basically sends you barrelling towards a heart-stopping orgasm, where tears spring to the corners of your eyes.
you needn't have even tried to warn him of your impending climax, for gojo knows in the way that your legs quiver and get sloppier over his face. stars fall over your vision as you heave and toss your head back, muscles rippling as "satoru, satoru!" falls from your lips, long and drawn out as the rest of the world goes dark around you.
you gasp, struggling to inhale as the syrupy air is stolen from your lungs, all while gojo runs his tongue through your folds, head spinning with the dizzying rush of sensation. it's as if you've been swept away, hurtling towards space, weightless and disorientated.
only to crash back into reality as gojo seemingly hasn't stopped letting himself taste all of you, with not a drop of arousal wasted. your back is further pressed into the soft mattress beneath you, and the surge of overstimulated numbness follows, all pleasurable pins and needles and ferocious need.
"look at that, 'm already addicted," gojo coos, almost to himself, scooping a finger through the translucent gloss that leaks from your cunt. bringing it up to his mouth to wrap his tongue around, "think you can handle giving me another one?"
you let out a weak, breathless laugh. your gaze lingering on gojo's face, the soft moonlight that casts an ethereal glow on his features. his chin still faintly gleams, coated in your mirror-sheen and his lips are a plump, rosy red. you part your lips, propping yourself onto your elbows, but before you can form the words, the door slams open with a force that makes your ears rattle.
"i've looked in every fuckin' room in this house, and i swear to everything holy, satoru. if you chose my bedroom, i'm gonna â"
geto suguru's voice cuts off mid-rant, his words dissolving into a strangled, pained gasp as he takes in the sight before him. gojo, kneeling between your legs, wearing a ridiculously pleased grin. just like the cat who got the cream. you let out a squeak, hastily tugging your skirt over you, but it's hard to look innocent when gojo is still unabashedly pawing at your thighs.
geto pales, his jaw going slack, and he looks like he's about to collapse, "god help me. satoru, i'll kill you tomorrow," and then he shoots you both a nasty look, "and you're both paying for new sheets."
"so you and gojo are...dating now?" choso pries, with a tone that is entirely too casual but his eyes are keen. your twin is nursing a cup of coffee while he absolutely demolishes a plate of fried eggs. he had been quiet so far, but it's clear that curiosity gave out and now he's peering at you like a big owl.
you try, or do your very best not to smile too hard. to not look giddy and ridiculously pleased, "yeah, i guess we are," you admit, keeping your voice as level as possible.
choso blinks once, before setting his fork down and shaking his head, "i knew it. it was only a matter of time," he mutters, and without further ado, he resumes shovelling eggs into his mouth, utterly unfazed.
before you can respond, sukuna appears in the doorway, leaning lazily against the frame, his tattooed arms crossed and his expression dripping with disdainful amusement, "oh, i was there," he drawls, sharp fangs flashing in a wicked grin, "that loser pulled the dumbest, most dramatic stunt of all time. got on his knees and everything."
choso freezes mid-chew, raising a thick brow as he glances at the older man with mild interest, "wish i'd seen that," he mumbles through a mouthful of toast.
to your utter astonishment, sukuna nods gravely, his face taking on an uncharacteristically serious look, "yeah. i've got a video if you wanna watch."
your jaw drops as you glance between them, "this is officially the first time that i've ever seen you two agree on anything," setting your mug down with a thud, "if i had known that dating gojo would bring about world peace, i would have done it ages ago and â"
yuuji bounds into the kitchen like an overeager puppy, his blush-pink hair still a mess from interrupted sleep. but he's clapping his hands together like he's just won the lottery, "finally! look at that! everyone's getting along for once."
sukuna doesn't even bother to hide his irritation, shooting yuuji a withering glare. but it's hard to take him seriously when his own pink hair rivals yuuji's in sheer disarray, "don't push it," sukuna warns darkly, grabbing a glass of orange juice and downing it in one morose gulp. he slams the empty, cold glass on the counter before stalking off towards the door, "i'm seriously gonna move out at this rate."
"promise?" choso quips, without missing a bit, "wish you'd stop getting our hopes up and actually do it."
yuuji is undeterred, and he elbows you with all the subtlety of a bull in a china shop, "you have to invite gojo over all the time now. i like him a lot. he's like super cool."
"of course," you grin, sliding a plate towards him as he eagerly digs in.
and your younger brother beams like the sun itself. right as a mocking, high-pitched voice floats from the other room, "and then we're all gonna be lovesick, and skip around town while holding hands!" right before falling back into sukuna's usual gruff tone that echoes through the kitchen, "god, you're all so insufferable."
your phone buzzes on the table, and you glance down. gojo's contact photo lights up the screen. it's a snapshot from a year or two ago, taken the summer that you both graduated high school. he's standing at the edge of the beach, with the sun dipping low enough behind to catch his white hair. turning it into a halo of glowing light. it's a photo that you never had the heart to change.

"ugh, gross."
sukuna's disdainful drawl cuts through behind you, as an icy finger prods at your phone, trying to scroll up and snoop through your messages. you freeze and slam your phone down on the table. whirling around to come face to face with the world's most judgemental gargoyle sneers at you, "i think i'm gonna throw up."
"get a life, holy fuck."

can i request cregan stark modern au, with jaces younger or twin sister and maybe they like hide the relationship and its like fluffy and maybe smutty
Request: five times cregan and jaceâs sister almost get caught and one time jace does find out about their relationship. I donât think he would be too mad. He knows cregan is a good guy and would treat you well.Â
I usually dislike body hair (personal preference) and beards, but Cregan has a short beard in this one (as he does in all of my fics for him) because I said so, and because heâs a Stark. I think it is mandatory and missing for his character â manifesting for a beard in season 3. Also, this is 6.6k words...idk how that happened
p.s. You can find this fic on AO3 under the title Who are we to fight the alchemy
Warnings: 18+, smut, oral (f receiving), mention of a fight and blood, short appearance of Larys Strong (he needs his own warning),

When you started college and moved in with Jace, he had warned his teammates that his sister was off limits and that if he caught any of them looking at you, he would not be afraid to throw hands. He may be smaller than a lot of his teammates, but Jace was very protective of you.Â
They were good guys, brothers to Jace, but he also knew their history with girls. He knew the dirty secrets; the dramas, who they had sex with, where, and details that he wished he could forget about. They were not boyfriend material â at all.Â
You were not going to lie, Jaceâs teammates were hot hockey players. It was tempting to turn your life into a clichĂ© book trope and hook up with one of them, but you refrained from doing so. They were not worth being another name on their list.Â
Until one of them changed your mind.Â
It was a Tuesday night. You were in your room, reading on your bed while Jace had friends over playing video games. You could hear them shout at the TV and each other. After a few chapters, you wandered to the kitchen to get a cookie from the cookie jar, but found its content empty.Â
ââJace,ââ you said under your breath.Â
Living with your brother had a certain strange familiarity to it, a comforting echo of home despite the newness of being on your own. But some things hadnât changed. Like how Jace never mentioned when he emptied something. Like that one time you wanted to make spaghetti, only to discover he had left an empty pasta box in the cupboard. Or when he used your shower towel because his was in the laundry. These moments made you miss your mom's presence â sheâd always been there to keep the peace and enforce some order.
As you stared at the empty jar with frustration, one of Jaceâs friends walked in behind you, his eyes immediately landing on the same spot. You could not see who it was, but his tall shadow was towering over you and you could smell a faint woodsy cologne.Â
ââIf youâre looking for a cookie, Jace ate them all,ââ you said, throwing your brother under the bus.
ââThat was me, actually,ââ admitted a deep voice with a northern accent from behind you. You turned to see Cregan standing there, his expression sheepish. ââJace said to get anything I wanted. Sorry.ââ
You forced a smile, the irritation fading as your eyes met his gray ones. ââItâs fine. Iâll get something else.ââÂ
Cregan watched as you moved to the freezer above the fridge to get the ice cream out. You opened the lid and saw that it was almost empty, so there was no need to put it in a bowl.Â
ââDid you make them?ââ he asked as you reached for a spoon in the cutlery drawer.
ââI did,ââ you answered with a smile.Â
ââThey were really good.ââÂ
ââThank you. If Jace baked them himself, they would have turned out like hockey pucks: black and hard,ââ you joked.
Cregan offered a light chuckle as he stepped towards the counter, his gray eyes studying the details of your face. He hadnât really looked at you until now, respecting Jaceâs warning, but now he was struggling to look away and go back to the living room.Â
â.ă.:*ă»Â°â.ă.:*ă»Â°Â
Two months later, you found yourself making out with the Wolvesâ captain in his big jeep. His hair was damp and he smelled strongly of soap and deodorant, having showered twenty minutes ago after practice.Â
The windows were beginning to fog as you were kissing, your hands all over Cregan's shoulders and chest. His tongue slipped into your mouth, causing you to grip his shirt when it grazed yours. You could drown in his kisses.Â
Getting frustrated by the gear shift separating you, you attempt to climb over it and fumbled your way to the driver seat onto Creganâs lap without breaking contact with his lips. You bumped your head and legs along the way, and let out a little curse. Cregan laughed, pulling back his seat as far as it would go so the steering wheel would not press in your back.Â
From his new angle, you could feel the warmth of Creganâs body against yours. It wasnât as effective as cuddling in bed, but Jace would get home soon and Creganâs small dorm bed was not made for two. He barely fitted himself.Â
He slipped his large hands under your shirt, his thumbs inching up and up your sides, feeling your soft and warm skin while his mouth locked itself to your jaw. ââYour brother would kill me if he knew about us,'' he said as his mouth trailed down your neck, leaving wet kisses up to your collarbone.
You rolled your hips to meet his, the friction causing Creganâs breath to stutter. His hands were still in your shirt, large and warm, leaving trails of fire over your back. He felt like he was sixteen and in high school all again, not twenty-one and in college.Â
ââGods, youâre going to kill me if your hand keeps going rubbing against me like that.ââÂ
You smirked and tipped your head back to give him more room. ââJace is not the boss of my relationships. I can see whoever I please,ââ you replied, raking your hand through his hair and grazing the side of his short beard.
Cregan scoffed against your neck. ââThen what are we doing in my car instead of your bed?ââÂ
He was only teasing, but it still made you sigh. You didnât think living with Jace would put a wrench in your dating life. He meant well, but gods was it frustrating.Â
Not waiting for your response, Cregan continued to shower your neck with kisses, his teeth nipping at the skin before his lips soothed it. You didnât think kisses would make you feel like this, but this man had an effect on your body that you could not explain. You pulled at his hair when he bit at the sensitive flesh there, leaving a small mark you will have to conceal later.Â
You wished you didnât have to hide your relationship. You wished you could kiss him whenever you desired, go to his games and wear his jersey and cheer for him loudly when he scored a goal, cuddle with him on the couch without looking at the door every five minutes to check if Jace was coming home.Â
Cregan pulled back suddenly, looking up at you with his gray eyes. ââI should go, Jace is gonna come home soon. Walking from campus to here takes less than thirty minutes,ââ he said in a hushed tone, his breath coming in short puffs.Â
ââJust a few minutes more,ââ you bargained, stealing a few kisses from his lips, not yet ready to part. ââI have a class at 8pm tomorrow and you leave for your away game Saturday morning. I wonât be seeing you until Sunday or Monday.ââÂ
He let out a sigh, also dreading the moment heâll leave you, and held you for a moment, his hands gently running up and down your back. You drinked in his scent and warmth, winding your arms around his neck and pressing your head in his neck.Â
The moment was ruined as you shifted and accidentally hit the horn with your ass, the loud sound echoing in the parking lot.Â
Startled, you jumped and then burst into laughter, but Cregan didnât join in. His expression was stone serious as he stared intently at something in the distance. Confused, you followed his gaze and spotted Jace standing by the doors of your apartment building, his gym bag slung over his shoulder. He was scanning the parking lot, clearly trying to figure out which car had honked, but with the lights off and the evening darkness, there was no way for him to tell which one it was.
â.ă.:*ă»Â°â.ă.:*ă»Â°Â
The second time you almost got caught together was before a hockey game. The team the Wolves were playing against was strong and Cregan texted you to come outside the locker room and give him a good luck kiss. Â
You smiled at the text and sent a quick âcomingâ to your boyfriend. ââIâm gonna get something to drink,ââ you told your friends.Â
You snaked your way through the students and families waiting in the entrance to get to their seats and quickly made your way down to the locker room. You knew where it was from bringing over Jaceâs skates last Saturday at practice. They were essential for getting on the ice, how could he forget them?Â
Family, friends â and girlfriends â were not allowed in that area of the arena, so you kept an eye out for anyone from staff. You could always play the âI was looking for the bathroomâ card, but it would add another lie on top of the others you and Cregan were piling up since the beginning of your relationship.Â
You found him leaning against the wall, waiting. He was in his compression pants and an old Wolves tee shirt, looking like a complete snack. You could see everything in those tight pants. And the way his hair was tied at the back made him look sexier.Â
He looked up when he heard someone approach and a soft smile curled on his lips. ââThere you are,ââ Cregan said, his voice low and gravelly as he stepped to you and pulled you to his chest. You fit against him perfectly, like a missing piece snapping into place.Â
He leaned down and pulled you into a kiss, his hand cupping your face gently. It was supposed to just be a quick kiss â a quick âgood luckâ smooch, not anything too serious. But the moment your mouth met his, you both got carried away.Â
Cregan grabbed you with ease by your thigh, lifting you up, and you winded yours around his neck, almost forgetting that he had a game to play in twenty minutes. Â
ââOkay, thatâs enough,ââ you decided, breaking the kiss. ââYouâre gonna be late for pre-game talk.ââ
Cregan sighed but gently lowered you back down. Your boots hit the floor, but he didnât let you go without stealing one last kiss. You smiled into it, then stepped back just as Jace came barreling down the hallway, clearly in a rush.
He came to a stop, frowning when seeing you. ââWhat are you doing here?ââ His gaze shifted to Cregan, suspicion creeping into his voice. ââAnd why are you talking to my sister?ââ
Cregan didnât miss a beat. ââShe was looking for you, actually,ââ he lied smoothly. ââBaela asked her to tell you she wouldnât make it to the game tonight. She and Rhaena drove home for the weekend for their dadâs birthday.ââ
You made a mental note to thank him later for the quick thinking. Baela had mentioned her trip, and Jace had been sulking and pouting ever since, upset that his girlfriend would miss a big game.Â
Jace nodded, still catching his breath. ââYeah, I know. She already told me.ââÂ
ââOh?ââ you played along effortlessly. ââShe must have forgotten that she already told you. She has a lot on her mind right now, you know.ââÂ
â.ă.:*ă»Â°â.ă.:*ă»Â°Â Â
Your breathy 'ah's and whimpers were bouncing off the walls as Cregan's strong hands gripped your thighs and held you in place while he lapped at your pussy like a starved man. The intensity of pleasure forced you to grip the headboard. The scruff of his beard was rubbing against your sensitive skin, chafing, but you kind of like it.Â
It was your first time having the apartment to yourself for more than two hours, and you were going to make the most out of it. Jace was at a bar in the city with some guys from the team. He won't be back until at least 1am...or even later.Â
When you heard about the night out at the bar, you texted your man and let him know so he could come over after Jace leaves. His teammates were disappointed that he was not joining, but Cregan told them to have fun for him.Â
Heâll have his own fun with you in the sheets.
The moment he crossed the door, your mouth was on his and you were unbuttoning your shirt, eager to feel his hands on your tits.Â
Your eyes rolled to the back of your head, mewling at the way he was suckling on your clit. No one ever made you feel this good before. Not that you had a lot of experience to compare with.
His sweet assault on your pussy continued, the sounds you were making making him rock hard. He loved it â pleasing his girl.Â
''I'm gonnaâ I'm gonna come soon,'' you whined, feeling your core tighten and rocking you body forward in the same rhythm, fucking yourself on Cregan's tongue. Â
The hockey player let out a low grunt below you, encouraging you to use him how you wished. He let go of one of your thighs to run the back of his hand up your stomach and grab your breast the way you liked, his calloused thumb and finger capturing your peaked nipple, rubbing it as he flicked your clit again.Â
Your orgasm hit and you made circular jerks of her hips, pushing down on Creganâs tongue and chin, drenching both. His name fell from your lips and you continued on like this for a moment, toes curling and legs tensing. Until you had nothing else to give.
He pressed a last kiss to your sensitive clit, then helped you clamber off him. ââYou remember when I said the cookies you made were really good?ââ
You hummed, although confused where he was going with this.Â
ââThis is better.ââÂ
Your face flamed up at his words, not expecting such a vulgar thing to come out. ââShut up.ââ You smacked his chest, his laugh rumbling under your palm.Â
The sheepishness he sported in the kitchen that day had disappeared, revealing a dirty sense of humor you never expected from him.
You thought you would get a breather, a moment to catch your breath between your last orgasm and the next, but Cregan â insatiable â had other plans. He rolled onto his side, a mischievous glint in his eyes, and began kissing your body with a slow, deliberate intensity. His lips trailed all over your chest, down to your breasts, and then to your stomach, each touch igniting your desires all over again. You arched into his touch, the warmth of his mouth and the gentleness of his caresses melting away any resistance.
Under his tall and broad stature, Cregan Stark was a teddy bear. A Costco sized teddy bear. On the ice, he was known for his strength and leadership, but off it, he was all heart. He was kind, caring, and protective. His caresses were gentle, and his kisses tender and loving. It was impossible to not feel his love.
Speaking of feeling his love, you felt his hardness twitching and poking at your thigh through his tight boxers. You reached down to slip your hand inside, jerking him slowly. In response, Cregan squeezed your hip and let out a low groan.
ââI need you,ââ you gasped, feeling him suck at the skin under your left breast.Â
It was one of your rules: no leaving visible marks that could raise suspicions.Â
He gave one last swipe of his tongue over your nipple and peeled off his boxers, his delicious cock springing up immediately. Your pussy was weeping at the sight.Â
You spread your legs to accommodate him, offering yourself to him. He teased at your entrance, his movements deliberate as he bumped against your clit, sending a sharp jolt of pleasure through you that made you whine. His amused chuckle filled the room, clearly tempted to draw out your anticipation even more, but as you shot him a warning glare, silently urging him to stop teasing.Â
Cregan shushed you, rubbing your thigh, and just as he was about to breach your walls, you heard the door of the apartment open and Jaceâs voice echoing.Â
You froze, eyes widening in panic, and Cregan cursed under his breath, realizing that Jace was back much earlier than expected. ââShit. Thatâs Jace.ââÂ
He called your name again and you quickly slipped on a shirt and got out of bed, answering your brother's calls of your name. You couldn't risk him coming into your bedroom and catching his best friend in your bed in his birthday suitâŠwith with a raging hard-on and your juices all over his beard. Â
ââYouâre home early,ââ you pointed out, coming down the hallway.Â
You studied him as he grabbed a bag of chips from the pantry, trying to guess his state of inebriety. He seemed barely tipsy.Â
ââDrama at the bar. Ben got into a fight with some guy over a girl â which he did not know was someone's girlfriend â and we all got kicked out,ââ Jace explained, rummaging through the bag of chips and taking a handful to pop into his mouth before leaning against the counter.Â
You shook your head with a sigh. ââTypical Ben. He really needs to stop going after girls that are taken. Has he not learned his lesson?''
Your brother laughed, taking more chips. âWhose shirt is that?â he asked, his eyes narrowing as he glanced down at the large shirt you were wearing, then back up at you.
You followed his gaze and saw that you had grabbed Creganâs tee shirt instead of your sleep shirtâŠ
ââDadâs,ââ you blurted out quickly.
Jace frowned, not remembering your dad ever wearing that shirt, but let it go. ââWhat were you up to? I thought you would invite the girls over.''
ââEh, no. I...I was having fun by myself,'' you stammered, clenching your thighs and hoping your face was not too flushed.Â
It wasn't entirely a lie, but it wasnât true either. You were having fun, just not by yourself.Â
His face twisted in disgust. ââEw, thatâs gross! I did not need to know about that.''
â.ă.:*ă»Â°â.ă.:*ă»Â°Â Â
Unlike Ben, Cregan wasnât the type to get into fights â especially on the ice. He thought it was stupid and pointless, a quick way to end up injured or benched for a few games. As the father figure of the team, he was usually the one stepping in to break up the scuffles, keeping cooler heads prevailing. But sometimes, no matter how careful you are, you get caught in the crossfire and take a punch that wasnât meant for you.
You shot up from your seat immediately, your heart sinking to your stomach as Jason Lannisterâs gloveless fist accidently connected to Creganâs face. It was aimed at Ben â unsurprisingly â, who had played a foul, unnoticed by the referee, and got his brother Tyland in the penalty box.
Chaos erupted on the ice. The referees were shouting and blowing their whistle, trying to break up the fight. Seeing Ben implicated, Cregan had rushed over, taking it on himself to pull him back, but that's when Jason punched him.Â
More players skated over, helping the referees. One grabbed Jason, and another went for Ben. He was lean but feisty, a scrappy fighter who never backed down. He shot a taunting grin at his opponent and spat blood on the ice, right at his feet. Jason tried to free himself, but the closest referee put his hand on his chest, shaking his head. Enough.
Cregan turned to Ben and wiped the blood off his nose, glaring at darkly. Â
You didnât see him until Sunday afternoon. You were coming back from the laundry room, arms full with a basket of freshly cleaned clothes, and forgot how to breathe when you saw Cregan sitting on the couch across from Jace. He was wearing gray sweatpants and a hoodie, and his pretty face was decorated with a bruise close to his nose.Â
Your feet froze, unable to take another step. You wanted to fucking punch Jason Lannister.
ââHey, youâre back,ââ Jace noticed, turning his head towards you.
You nodded, trying to regain your composure. ââYeah. I was doing laundry,ââ you explained, lifting the basket slightly as if to prove your point.
ââCan you do mine next time? Iâll pay you ten dollars,ââ Jace offered with a grin.
You scoffed, shaking your head. What did he take you for, a housemaid? ââTen dollars to wash your dirty underwear and smelly socks? Never.ââÂ
ââFifteen,ââ he countered, still hopeful. ââMy clothes smell better when you do it. Itâs like when Mom used to do it.ââ
ââThatâs because I use fabric softener,ââ you replied, rolling your eyes.
Jace frowned, clearly puzzled. ââWhatâs that?ââÂ
Before you could explain it to him, his phone beeped with a notification. He paused the game and checked his screen. ââFood is here. Iâll go get it,ââ he said to Cregan.
The taller one nodded, waiting for Jace to be out the door to glance at you. Without saying anything, you set the basket of clothes down on the beanbag chair that had seen better days and went straight to Cregan, cupping his face gently. His eyes softened at your touch, seeing your look of concern. He reached up with one hand to lightly hold onto your wrist as you examined the bruise on his face.
Cregan gave you a soft smile. He could see that you were worried about him. ââIâm fine,ââ he said, yet you couldnât help but notice a hint of stiffness in his expression. ââIâm fine. I promise.ââ He kissed the inside of your hand.Â
ââIâll fetch you some ice.ââÂ
He tried to protest, saying that it wasnât necessary, but you were resolute. You hadn't been able to take care of him after the game, so youâll do it now.Â
You put some ice cubes that you used for your iced coffees in a plastic bag and brought it to the living room, gently pressing it to the bruise. ââHere.ââÂ
Cregan winced at the cold, his face sensitive. ââThanks, love.ââ He reached out and put a hand on your hip, tugging you closer, but retracted it as the door opened and Jace returned with the food.Â
â.ă.:*ă»Â°â.ă.:*ă»Â°Â
During the course of your relationship, you found yourself in a lot of risky situations, but letting Cregan sleep over was playing with fire.Â
You didn't mean to. It was an accident.Â
The two of you were watching a movie in your bed while Jace was on a date with Baela, and he fell asleep forty minutes in. You should have woken him when your phone showed close to 11pm, but you didn't have the heart to. You locked your door, turned off your laptop and cuddled against him.Â
When you woke up to pee at 1am, you saw that your brother was back and was asleep on the couch with his phone in his hand, the TV playing some older kids cartoons and his leg off the couch. Jace was a light sleeper, it would be too risky to sneak Cregan out.
Morning came and you woke up alone. A sad pout graced your lips. It was your first time spending the night together and you didnât even get to have morning cuddles or hear his sleepy voice.Â
You grabbed your phone, checking if he left any messages, but there was nothing. Just a text from your mom asking if you were coming home for your dadâs birthday this coming weekend. You rolled over, breathing in the sheets where Cregan slept in last night, and left her on read and got up.Â
Your morning coffee was calling your name.
Running a hand through your hair, you walked down the hallway, looking forward to that first sip of coffee, and grinned when you found Cregan in the small kitchen, standing in his tight boxers and a tee shirt and drinking black coffee from a Disney mug. It looked Polly Pocket sized in his hands.Â
You wrapped your arms around him from the back, your body flush against his. You pressed your face into his back, and the warmth of your body against his made his shoulders relax.Â
He smiled to himself, covering your hands with his free one. ââGood morning,ââ he said in a groggy voice.
ââI thought you had left. What of Jace? If my brother sees you in your underwear in his kitchen heâs gonna flip.ââÂ
Cregan set his coffee down and turned, his gaze soft as his eyes met yours. The bruise on his face had significantly faded, barely there. ââHeâs not here. I heard him leave.ââÂ
His strong arms wrapped around your waist, drawing you close, and you let yourself relax against him. The warmth of his body seeped through his tee shirt, and you could feel the steady rise and fall of his chest. Cregan's hand slowly traced down your back, his fingers rubbing gentle circles at the base of your spine. Â
ââDonât you have classes?ââ you asked, glancing up at him with a small smile.
He hummed softly. ââNot until later. My 10am class got canceled. I thought Iâd hit the gym instead...but thereâs no rush.ââ
ââIâve gotta leave in one hour,ââ you sighed, wishing you could linger in this moment longer.
Creganâs grip tightened slightly, as if to keep you close for as long as he could. ââI can drop you off,ââ he offered. ââThat way weâll have more time together.ââ
You nodded, pressing a kiss over Creganâs sternum in thanks. ââIâll make us breakfast...in five minutes.ââÂ
To ruin the moment, you heard the loud buzz and a voice coming from the intercom.Â
ââAre you up? Please be awake. I tried texting you and calling but you didnât respond so Iâm taking a chance here.ââ Jace called your name again, louder.Â
You groaned in annoyance and went to the door to press the intercom button. ââWhat do you want?ââÂ
ââYes! Youâre awake! Eh, I left my laptop on the counter, and I also forgot my keys...ââ
â.ă.:*ă»Â°â.ă.:*ă»Â°Â
When Jace left for college, your parents didnât see the use of getting a car when everything was close to campus and within walking distance. What they didnât think through would be the possibility of the bus riding home being full and not being able to make it for your dadâs birthday.Â
Jace: Pack your bag. Weâre leaving at 4pm. I already told Mom
You: You found us bus tickets?Â
Jace: No. I found a âšchauffeurâš
You: Please tell me itâs not some random person you found on a co-driving forum. I donât want to spend two hours in some creepâs car đ
Jace: Heâs not
You should have known it would be him.Â
Jace called shotgun, forcing you to take the backseat. You didnât mind. In fact, you preferred it. If you had sat at the front, you were scared your hand would have slipped and revealed your relationship. Or that Jace would have noticed the familiarity between you. You were supposed to be his best friendâs little sister, not someone he knew like the palm of his hand.
Although it was only two hours, the drive felt never-ending. Your back ached from sitting in class all day and your stomach was impatient to be filled with your motherâs cooking. Every now and then, Cregan would sneak glances at you through the rearview mirror, and each time you couldnât hide your smile. Your brother didnât see, too busy on his phone or switching the music.Â
This weekend was looking to be long and difficult.Â
Your mom was more than happy to have another guest over. Cregan was as polite and charming, easily winning her heart when he complimented her infamous lasagna and asked for a second serving.Â
''Of course! Help yourself,'' Rhaenyra said, smiling warmly. She glanced between Cregan and Jace, who both emptied their plates quickly. ''It's like they don't feed you at college.''Â
''I live in a dorm,'' Cregan explained in defense. ''It's hard to cook when the only appliances allowed are a mini fridge and a coffee pot.''
Your mother turned to Jace with raised eyebrows, clearly waiting for his excuse. ''And you? What do you have to say for yourself?''Â
Jace grinned sheepishly, swallowing his last bite. ''Can I take the leftover back to college?''Â
At the head of the table, your father let out a hearty laugh, shaking his head. Â
When you were seven, you used to sneak out of your bedroom at night to eat a bowl of cereal. It took your parents several months to figure it out. At eighteen, you were sneaking to join your boyfriend in the guest room.Â
You waited for everyone to be fast asleep, and avoided the creaking floorboards in the hallway. It was dark inside as you closed and locked the door behind, but you made it to the bed without stubbing your toe on any furniture.Â
Cregan stirred when you pulled the covers and slipped in, feeling your cold feet on his calves. ''What are you doing?'' he asked, half-asleep and eyes still closed. He didn't need to see you to know it was you. He simply knew.Â
You said nothing and cuddled against him, sighing happily when he reciprocated.Â
Morning came faster, the early rays of sun peeking through the curtains. You cursed at yourself, having once again slept longer than planned. You checked both sides of the hallway, and once you deemed it safe, you exited. What you didnât see was Luke leaving the bathroom, his hair unruly and barely awake.Â
ââIâŠââ you stammered, not knowing what to say.Â
He was fifteen, you could not trick him like Joffrey. He knew what you were doing in the guest bedroom.Â
So you bolted to your own, praying he would keep his tongue.
ââLuke knows,ââ you blurted out as you descended the stairs for breakfast, the weight of the confession lingering in the air.
Downstairs, your mother had gone all out, setting up a massive brunch spread â eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and even pancakes. Grandfather Lyonel would be coming over...along with your uncle Larys. The thought of him made your stomach twist; you had never been at ease in his presence, but he was your fatherâs half-brother, and that meant you had to force a smile and be nice.Â
Cregan furrowed his brows, concern creeping across his face. ''How?''
You quickly recounted the incident, watching as Cregan ran a hand through his dark hair, his expression growing tense. ââYou think heâs gonna tell Jace?'' he asked, his voice dropping. ''Or worse...your dad? We got along well last night, but when heâll find outâââ
ââMy dad is not the one we need to worry about,'' you interrupted softly, trying to ease his anxiety. ''Sure, heâs protective of us, and he might look like the kind of guy who could knock someone out with one punch, but heâd never do that to someone I care about. Not unless he had a damn good reason.''
As you reached the bottom of the stairs, Joffrey got down from his chair and dashed over to you, his small face lighting up with excitement. ââMommy made pancakes!ââ he announced, his big brown eyes practically glowing. ââThereâs blueberry ones, your favorites.ââ He grabbed both your hand and Cregan's, tugging insistently, messing up your plan to arrive separately.
At the table, Luke was talking â bragging â to grandfather Lyonel about school while Jace was helping your mom bring all the food to the table. And of course, Uncle Larys was just sitting there, observing everything with his usual quiet, unsettling presence.
At Joffreyâs urging, Cregan took a seat next to him. The little one had taken a strong liking to the hockey player, and you couldnât help but hope that this budding friendship might work in your favor when it would all blow up.Â
ââCareful, it's hot!'' Rhaenyra called out, entering with a plate full of bacon. ''Jace, can you bring the orange juice? Oh, and a small fork for Joffrey?''Â
You interrupted Luke and made your way to Grandfather Lyonel, wrapping him in a warm hug like you always did. ââWhereâs Dad?ââ you asked, noticing his absence.
The burly man looked around for his son, not knowing either.Â
ââI'm here, I'm here,'' Harwinâs familiar voice rang out from the sliding door as he entered, carrying a bowl of freshly picked strawberries. On top of his head was a handmade birthday crown, obviously crafted by Joffrey. ââYour mother forgot the strawberries. I had to fetch some from the garden.''Â
You grinned, stepping up to greet him. ââHappy birthday, Dad,ââ you said, kissing his cheek as you wrapped him in a hug.Â
Everyone sat around the table, and began filling their plates with food.Â
You mostly took blueberry pancakes, and some fruits from the garden. You had a sweet tooth this morning. From the corner of your eyes, you could see Joffrey talking a mile a minute between bites of pancakes and bacon. Cregan was trying his best to listen to your little brother â what he could make out of his words, anyway â but his attention was completely focused on you.
Two seats down from you, Luke was watching. You could feel his gaze on Cregan, and there was an unsettling tension beneath the surface. He knew something. He could let it slip at any moment and throw the whole breakfast into chaos. But, for now, he stayed silent.
ââSo,ââ Grandfather Lyonel began casually as he sipped his coffee, ââhow's your first year of college treating you? Found yourself a boyfriend yet?''
The word 'boyfriend' had your bite of pancakes catching in your throat. Grabbing your coffee, you took a long gulp to wash it down, buying yourself a moment.
You shook your head, managing a calm smile. ââNot really. Iâm keeping my focus on my academics,ââ you replied, briefly raising your eyes at Cregan, who was focussing on eating the content in his plate. The last time he had a home-made breakfast was with you.Â
You thought you were being discreet, but your grandfather noticed the short glance, as did your father who was right next to you.Â
Joffrey, oblivious to the tension, piped up, ââJace has a girlfriend. Her name is Bella.ââ
ââBaela,ââ Jace corrected with a fond smile, shaking his head at the enthusiastic six-year-old.
Grandfather Lyonel smiled, happy for his grandson. ââThatâs a lovely name.ââ He then turned to Cregan. ââAnd you, Cregan? Got a girlfriend? A handsome, well-mannered lad like you cannot be single.ââÂ
Before he could answer, Joffrey piped up with the bluntness only a child could muster. ââI think you should date my sister,ââ he declared. Â
Jaceâs head shot up, eyes wide.Â
Before him, Cregan chuckled uncomfortably, clutching his fork. ââWhy is that, little one?ââ
ââBecause you look at her like papa looks at mommy.ââ He said it so pure and innocently, yet it was true.Â
The silence that followed was so loud it didnât take long for Jace to connect the dots. The truth hung in the air, undeniable and clear. Cregan shifted awkwardly in his seat, and you felt your heart pound in your chest.
Jace glanced between you and the one he called his best friend. His nostrils were flared, shock and outrage painted across his face. ââHow long has this been going on?ââ His brown eyes glared daggers at Cregan, waiting for an answer. ââHow long have you been keeping this from me?ââ
ââJace,ââ your fatherâs voice cut through the tension, firm but gentle, an attempt to stop the situation from spiraling any further.
But Jace wasnât listening, angry at his friendâs betrayal. ââHow can you betray me like that? I would have expected it from Robb or Theon, not from you. You pride yourself to be loyal and honorable, but where is your loyalty in this? Where is the honor in disregarding my one and only rule?ââ Â
He was allowed to be upset that you and Cregan spent the last two months seeing each other behind his back. Itâs a reaction that was expected. But you hated that he was painting his best friend as the villain. Cregan never used you, it was never his intention. He knew what he was risking when he kissed you back that rainy afternoon in his car. Yet, he couldnât ignore his feelings â and neither could you.Â
ââHow can you make this all about you?ââ you asked, shaking your head in disbelief. ââCanât you see past your own selfish feelings that maybe Cregan does love me for me and not just to piss you off? This is exactly why we didnât tell you anything.ââ You gestured around the room.
Cregan, who had remained silent until now, took a deep breath before speaking, his voice calm but firm. ââYou know I donât play around with girls. I would never use your sister the way you think I am. Come on, Jace. You know me.ââ There was a pause, allowing Jace to absorb his words, then he continued. ââIâm truly sorry for keeping this from you, but can you blame me? Put yourself in our shoes. You think I wanted to sneak around and lie to everyone about the girl I love? It might look cool in movies, but itâs not in real life. Itâs just stress and pain.ââ Â
The room was so quiet you could almost hear a pin drop. No one dared speaking around the table. It was only silent glances.Â
What a way to ruin your fatherâs birthdayâŠ
A few hours later, you found yourself sitting outside, your heart heavy. The house had grown quiet after the earlier commotion, the celebratory mood from the family gathering long gone. Grandfather Lyonel and uncle Larys had left. The former had apologized for starting the conflict, but you told him it was not his fault. It was bound to happen anyway.Â
You apologized to your father â and mother â for ruining his birthday. It was his turn to shake his head and pull you in his arms.Â
The air had gotten colder as it neared sundown, but you didnât want to go inside. You liked the soft stillness of the open air. It was a calming contrast to the fight from this morning.
The drive back to college was going to be tense tomorrow. You already dreaded it.Â
Unbeknownst to you, Jace was watching you through the glass of the sliding doors. He stood there for a moment, observing you and Cregan sitting quietly together on the patio furniture. Your head was leaned on his shoulder, curled up at his side, and his left arm wrapped around you. He recognized the Wolves hoodie on your back, Creganâs number and name on it.Â
It wasn't until he saw Cregan kiss the top of your head and the soft smile that instantly bloomed on your face that Jace realized that maybe Cregan was good for you.

"A Servant and His King."
Yandere!Fae-King x Fae!servant x. Fem! Reader
18+ Minors DNI
Warnings: Dub-con, perverted thoughts, obsession, coercion, fae related hijinks, basically monster fucking, oral (fem receiving), loss of virginity, clit play, p-in-v sex, power dynamics.
(A/N): Part two to a non-smutnfic about Puck, based off of puck from 'Midsummer Nights Dream'. Can be read with or standalone.
Part one (not required to understand)
A brief gust of wind and leaves rattles the shutters of your small cottages window, not sounding out of place when mixed with the usual sounds of the forest. However, the gust turns softer as it gently brushes against the shutters, causing them to open slowly with a creak.
A pair of feet land nimbly upon the wooden dresser across the room from your bed, a shadowy figure squatting down with a grin. The figure hops down, making its way to your bed, where you sleeping form lies blissfully unaware of the intruder.
Groaning, you are soon roused from your slumber by a light pressure on your wrist, and your eyes flutter open. You gasp, seeing the being before you and trying to pull away. "
"W-who are you! Stay awa-" a finger is pressed softly to your lips, the figures face coming into view as the lean forward. Forest green eyes and a set of familiar pearly whites greet you.
"Shh! No need to fear, only Puck is here." He coos, kissing your wrist once more, pressing the soft flesh to his lips. "Sorry to frighten you, little mortal. I would never mean to upset you, but I couldn't very waltz in through the entrance to your humble abode, especially given your mother's feelings about my kind." He lays his lithe body across yours, head on your chest as he looks at you with glee.
"Why are you here, Puck? It's late, I must rest." You say, though you don't resist the fae boys touching. "Sleep is important for humans."
He scoffs. "I know, but I have something more important than your human need for sleep. My king, Oberon, leader of the seelie court wishes to meet you." He pulls you up by your shoulders, a hand fixing your nightgown which begins to slip from your shoulder.
"T-the king?" You're just a human woman, a peasant. You've never even met a human noble, much less a faery king. "Why? Puck, I'm not, I can't! Now? I'm not dressed properly, I'm a human, I-"
Once again, a finger is placed against your lips. Invading your space as per usual, Pucks forehead is pressed against your forehead, nose to nose. "Shush, little mortal. Please, the king loves me. I am his jester-servant, his beloved Puck! We've shared many a-" he chuckles. "Amourous night together. He knows if your good enough for me, then your good enough to meet him. Don't discredit yourself, you are so much more than some mortal maid I take in the woods for a night of passion." He makes her sit up, and tries to slip her out of the bed. "He'll love you, my sweet. It's only proper I introduce my new beloved friend to my closest companion, ruler, and my king." You allow him to pull you out of your bed, and into his lanky form.
"Mmph, Puck. I can walk." You groan, trying to wriggle from his grasp. He tsks with his tongue, and shakes his head.
"No, no, no. Don't whine, don't go away. Be good. It's a long stroll all the way to the spring we're going to, just relax." He cackles. "You humans are so indecisive. Just a moment ago you were whining, 'Puck, no. It's too late, I'm a human, I need my sleep.', now you won't let me carry your frail, tired self to see the king. Make up your mind."
You roll your eyes, but suppose he has a point, and allow yourself to melt into his warm embrace, shoulders flush against his pecs.
As he slips back through the window and dances through the glen, weaving through trees and brush like a gust of cool night air, he soon arrives upon a clearing. Smooth rock reflect moonlight, as the water resting atop them comes from the babbling freshwater spring that rests at the edge of the rocks. A figure, imposing and much more muscular than Puck's is sat on one of the rocks, admiring the water.
Puck gently sets you down with nimble hands, kissing your ear lightly. This causes you to squeak and push him off.
"Stop it, Puck! I-im about to meet a king and your acting like we're lovers! Like your an enamored schoolboy!" You exclaim, and his hands only wrap around your waist from behind, playing with the cloth there.
"And here I thought we were lovers..." He feigns a sad face and a pout, before jolting forward and taking you with him by the waist. "My king!" He yells.
The imposing figure looks over, causing you to freeze, mind not really in synch with body as Puck drags you forward. The king is truly a thing of beauty, rugged and piercing as if he were carved, not from stone, but from the wood that made up the forest which he called his domain. He wears a fur pelt around his waist, covering his only upper thigh and not leaving much to the imagination. His is decidedly hairy, and though beautiful is as rugged as a human man of the woods is expected to be. He has dark curls of hair not unsimilar to Puck's, but not as long. His eyes are a deep brown.
"Ah, Puck, my fair servant friend. I was almost afraid you had planned to trick me, having not shown yet." The king muses, legs spread casually and a hand resting against his chin.
Puck gasps, hand to his chest as if hurt. "Never, my liege. Well, at least not to you." Puck coos, sitting on the rock and curling up to the man's calve. The king runs his hands through the curls of the fae man, and you are taken aback by the sensuality of their interaction.
The king looks up. "And you, little mortal, must be my Pucks new favorite thing, hmm?" He asks, head tilted. You nod nervously as the man waves you closer. You bow, and he grins. "Good, good. I assume she knows who I am then? I am King Oberon, of this enchanted woods and over all of the seelie court. Though, my servant here told me you knew little to nothing of our people when asked you about us, so I doubt you'd know what the seelie court is."
You shake your head. "No, sir. All I know-" you glance at Puck, who is practically purring at his kings touch. "All I know is what Puck has told me. That you are powerful, and to be respected."
Oberon grins at this. "That is all you need know. Come here, allow a king to gaze upon you." His hands begin to wander, cupping your face. His large fingers prod your plump lips, your cheeks, and tilts your chin downwards to look at him from where he is sat. Then, the hand is on your shoulder, playing with the straps of your upper garment, then at your chest. This sudden touch in such an intimate place causes you to jolt back. Oberon raises a brow.
"I'm sorry, sir. That is, that is just a very intimate place for humans. It's for sensual matters, when between two adults." You try to explain. Puck sighs, leaning his head on Oberons knee while the king chuckles.
"I am aware. It is intimate and sensual for fae too. That is why you were being touched there." He says, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. Now, you are only more confused.
"Well, intimacy of those matters between humans happens between a-a married couple, and even then, it should not be openly discussed. A woman like myself couldn't, shouldn't ever bee with a stranger like that, not even a suitor before marriage!"
"I have heard humans are... less indulgent in the passions of life than fae. All those awful, boring rules. And yet you kill your leaders and revolt because your miserable? Perhaps. Eing unable to express those urges is why." He laughs, and Puck joins in. He sense your confusion and continues. "Fae do not believing in brief enjoyment and indulgence. We live life to the fullest. Our liquor is stronger yet we drink more, our food is richer, yet we all eat like kings. And most of all, we indulge in the passions of the flesh with each other more than your little mind could take. I think if you had the opportunity, you'd see it was the best way to live." He muses.
To your suprise, he suddenly moves Puck up from his calve to his lap, holding the thin man by the waist as Puck grins wickedly. "You see, me and my servant here are close, emotionally and physically. We have enjoyed many a night of passion, without the watchful eye of my queen, of course." There is some bitterness in Oberon's tone at the mention of his queen.
"You... you indulge in passion with those, of the same gender as you, o-often?" You ask. It is not wrong, you are just so suprised and curious. You are not even supposed to think about a man pleasing a woman, let alone a man and another man. It is such a foreign idea.
"Mhmm. Being a king is hard for his majesty, and Puck... I, am happy to help him with his desires. My king cares for me, and I care for him." Puck says, before gasping and cutting off. You blush, seeing Oberons hand has slipped below Pucks leafy loincloth, hand stroking Puck manhood. He focuses only on the tip for now.
"I am suprised seeing as you are so shocked by how touchy and sensual fae are, seeing as you bedded my dear servant." Oberon says, and you immediately shake your head.
"No! I've never, me and Puck did nothing together. We drank a little, but he took me home." You exclaim, and look st Ouck for answers. He's too busy letting out soft whimpers and moans as Oberon moves his hand the full length of Pucks cock, paying attention to his bulbous tip.
"Is this true, Puck? I find it hard to believe, my servant can't keep his hands to himself. I suppose this makes you seem even more special to me, that my Puck would wish to see you again so desperately, and rave about you to me even if he had not bedded you yet. That begs the question though..." He leans in to Puck's ear. "Why did you lie to your king?"
Puck groans, brows furrowing. "M' sorry, your majesty! I knew you were so busy, and if I told you I had found a mortal capable of giving such incredible pleasure, you'd be more likely to come and see what a treasure I had found." He stammers. The king shakes his head, slowing his movements on Puck's cock.
"You know better than to lie to a king with a temper, Puck."
Puck cries out, bucking his hips and trying to chase that friction against his kings rough hands. "N-no sir! Trust me, I know if she'd just indulge, the mortal would be wonderful! She... she could be our mortal, not just mine! Please sir, I'll be good, she'll be good, don't stop." He begs.
Oberon sighs, still frowning in Pucks direction but intrigued nonetheless. "Alright, mortal girl. I yell you, if you would only let go, indulge just a bit in the pleasures of the fae, you would live a better life overall. And, should you please a king of the woods, perhaps your... what is it your mother does? Herbs? Perhaps they would see a better yield. An enchantment perhaps?" He offers.
You gulp, body hot with both arousal at the sight before you and anxiety. "I couldn't. What would the people in town think, I-I would be outcast!"
"Who would know? Even if someone were to find out, no one would believe a quiet gardeners daughter slept with a wicked spirit." The king teases, tongue poking out from between his lips slightly. He pulls you to him, and you offer no resistance. "For an untouched maiden, I assure you there is no one better to introduce you to a world of pleasure than the king, and his most loyal servant."
As he says this, the moaning Puck latches his lips onto your neck, continuing to moan as he sucks the soft flesh. You gasp.
"Oh, oh, gods." You squeak, the sensitive skin of your nape never having been touched, much less kissed in such a way.
"No gods, here, mortal. No angels or demons, only fae. Only the spirits of nature." He leans into your ear, kissing the shell. "Only your king."
Soon, a rough hand gets your skirt pooled around your knees, kneading the fat of your thigh and preparing to spread your legs and allow the fae king and his srmervant a view of the untouched treasure that lies there. You shiver as the cold air brushes across your stomach, you've never felt so exposed.
"See, highness? I told you, she's the perfect, pretty little mortal. Tease her, please? For me? I want to see her face as she experiences pleasure for the first time." Puck begs.
Oberon raises a brow and the request. "Such demands from a liar who has already been granted mercy, and is still being pleasure bu the hands of a king." He pulls his hand from Ouck's cock, causing tears to well in the edged faes eyes, having been denied his release.
"Majesty-"
"Enough. I will allow you to tease and prep the maiden, so she may except you king. Before you say anything, be grateful I don't only allow you to watch, or send you home." Puck whines, but grins a little inside. He knows the king enjoys his presence to much to remove him from this sensual scene.
Oberons large hands keep your shoulders flat against the warm stones of the spring, while Puck, still hard beneath his tented loincloth, crawls unceremoniously up between your thighs.
"What are you doing, Puck?" You whisper out softly, looking into his dazzling green eyes. He smiles warmly, pressing his cheek to one of your thighs.
"I assure you, maiden, my wicked tongue is not only good for japes and jabs." He coos. You are still confused at what he could mean, until the two thin fingers parting your folds are replaced with a hot, wet muscle. Puck licks a stripe teasingly up your center, savoring the flavour but eyes never leaving your face.
Oberon smiles down as he watches your face contort and wrinkle at the new sensation.
"Puck, y-your majesty, what is- oh, what is he doing?" You ask, trying to form a coherent sentence at the odd feeling of pressure and friction against both your clit and your entrance as Puck explores your folds.
"It's called cunnilingus, maiden. Fae have many ways to pleasure each other, but many enjoys the feel of one's mouth on their most intimate areas." He chuckles as he watches Puck tasting you curiously. "Sometimes, I find filling his mouth is the only way to quiet him." Puck giggles, and the vibrations make your legs quake.
Soon, the muscle invades your entrance, as Puck is now groaning almost as much as you. It's a gentle stretch, but both Ouck and Oberon know it will be necessary for what the king is to do later. Your aroused and needy clit is not forgotten by the fae pleasuring you, as a free hand comes to tweak it gently. The feeling is overwhelming, and soon, that knot inside you snaps, and you feel a high you've never known. It feels as though currents, waves run through your body as your maidenhood spasms around Pucks tongue.
He removes it, but continues to lap at your spent clit, tasting the juices of your climax. Oberon smiles.
"Was he good, maiden? Did you first touch by a man satisfy?" He asks. You can only weakly nod. "Ah, answer, maiden. Your being addressed by a royal."
"It was... it was very good, m-majesty." You gasp out. You look away at the sheer lewdness of the sight and Oberon crashes his lips to Pucks so that he may taste you on his servants lips.
"She was a divine nectar, my liege." Puck groans, pulling away from the kiss and now trading spots with his king. Now Puck lays by your shoulders, playing with your locks and kissing your neck and jawline while Oberon moves into place.
His chisled body places itself atop you, his sheer size dwarfing you and removing the moonlight from your body, casting a large shadow. You gulp.
"I... I've never done-" he chuckles, cutting you off.
"I'm aware, mortal. All that talk of purity led me to that conclusion. But, you won't be that innocent for long. I will be gentle, but it will hurt at first when you accept me into your sweet cunt. It's all part of the process."
You tense a little at the feeling of something hard, much more rigid than Pucks limp tongue, prodding at your entrance and folds.
"M' scared." You admit. This seems to soften the sensual yet cold king, and he sighs. Even Puck gives him a sad, wide eyes look. He leans down.
"Don't worry, mortal. I will be as gentle as any man has been with a woman. My Puck was never one to be nervous, but I have had lovers in the past who were. I will take care of you." He says.
Puck holds your hand and nuzzles his cheek to yours to provide a semblance of comfort. "It's true. The king is a fair and gentle lover when he wants to be. Don't worry, my friend." He assures.
Oberon strokes your thighs to relax soon, and soon the tip enters your weeping slit. You whine, the intrusion burns a little, especially as he adds a few inches every so often. But, he is slow, and talks you through it.
"Shh, it's alright. Your taking me so well, especially since I am endowed with more than some. Such a good mortal girl, it will feel good once you've stretched to accommodate a fae's cock." He coos.
As he begins to gently thrust, the slightly pain gives way to a burning pleasure. You whimper, his thrusts rocking your ads back against the stone of the spring. His large, curved tip is hitting the right spots, cervix getting pounded by the large man of the forest.
"O-oh, shit! Oberon, please- please, m-more! I need all, all of you in me!" You cry, and he chuckles.
"That's your womb speaking. This is your first time, you couldn't possibly accommodate all of me. But I will give you what I think, ugh, what I think you can take." He thursts become rhythmic, rolling in and out of your stretched tunnel, as Puck holds you steady and plays gently with your chest.
Oberon humps against you a few more times, moaning at Pucks encouragement. "She is so close, sire. I can tell, she's all tense and red, come on! Give it to her, let her take you. Please." It's clear Puck is still needy from not having gotten his release earlier. Still, he seems satisfied watching the king fuck his newest treasure.
"Mortal, mortal. You squeeze like a vice, such a warm, needy cunt. You needed this, to feel such pleasure, didn't you? Needed a cock to fill this cunt?" He moans. "It was fate, wasn't it, Puck? Finding this maiden, all alone. It was fate for you to be brought to us." Puck nods as his master continues.
"Your majesty, I'm gonna- its happening again." You cry, and his pace doesn't slow.
"I know, I know. I'm, fuck-" one last thrust sends the king over the edge. He groans, feeling your tunnel convulse around him as his thick white cum fills you. Puck plants quick, overwhelming kisses across your face as you climax, secretly wondering what you would look like if you bore the king's child.
Soon, Oberon pulls out, and you lay there, trembling and on the verge of sleep. Puck leans down and plants a final kiss upon your lips. He smiles.
"Sleep, little mortal. It's okay, you are safe with me and my king. I'll return you to your bed, pretty one." He strokes your hair softly, until your tired eyes close and stay closes. He sighs, and looks at the king. It's clear he could go for a fee more rounds.
"Majesty, our poor mortal needed this so badly, her body was on fire for it. We can't... we can't well let her go back to her little cottage, all alone in the dangerous wood with no one to please her. She's trusting, and she broke all the rules of interacting with fae so quickly, what if a worse one came along and-"
"Puck!" Oberon exclaims, making the imp jolt and go silent. Oberon sighs. "I am not a fool. I know how much this unique mortal has captivated the two of us. You need not convince me to take her back to my palace. As fair as Titania will be concerned, she is a plaything for you, correct? I will not have her cursing this treasure." Oberons muscular arms cradle your slumbering form.
"Majesty, I know of your endurance. Perhaps when we get back to the palace, while our maiden rests, I may please you." Puck asks, eyes wide and innocent.
Oberon scoffs. "All this acting because I didn't allow you to finish, Puck?" Oberon says, seeing through Pucks facade of goodwill and selflessness. Puck pouts.
"Isn't it tempting, though?"
"Perhaps."

Din Djarin x Reader, The Mandalorian x Reader
Summary: Your employer is pissed when you come back from getting information about a bounty with a bruised hand mark around your neck.
A/N: I kinda just wrote this one because I had a vague idea and ran with it. I think everyone is going to learn very quickly in my writing that clearly jealous/overprotective Din is my fave version of him đ
Warnings: reader gets choked and not in the nice way (only talks about it), overprotective Din, Din is your employer but clearly wants to be more, death and m!rder (all in the name of love) đ€, mentions of blood and bodily harm, mentions of slave traders, fluff with a little bit of spiceâš, soft!Din but also a little bit reckless!Din đ smut references but not written too explicitly but still MINORS DNI, business associates to lovers arc? đ
not set at any particular point during the series.
READER does not have a specified gender, they/them pronouns used. Reader does not have a visible disability.
Youâd been gone too long and Din was getting anxious.
This hadnât been his original plan.
The contact for information regarding the bounty had unfortunately been highlighted as a previous foe of his. Heâd busted them prior when their bounty puck had fell in his lap over a cycle ago.
Trust Karga to let the man redeem himself by providing intel on high-level bounties with the incentive of remaining out of the hands of the Rebellion that for some reason unbeknownst to Din, wanted his head on a stick.
Why had Din let you go and barter for the information again?
âHe wonât suspect me to be a threat.â
Oh right, yeah. Thatâs what you said.
Except Din was probably worrying about the wrong thing because the biggest threat would be the ex-criminal you were meeting with at Mos Espa Cantina.
âGo say hi to Boba for me. Get the boy fed and Iâll be back soon.â
Din was losing his edge.
On what kriffin planet did he give in to such a request?
You were in danger and he knew it.
He knew it and he still sat in the markets with Grogu, twirling wupiupi coins in his fingers for the past half hour while his son slurped another bowl of pog soup.
Why?
Well, that was easy.
Since the past year you had been travelling with him, Din had grown to have affections for you.
To start he kept you at arms length.
Brief answers to your curious questions turned into nightly talks between your bunks. Subtle touches to guide you through busy and sometimes treacherous places turned into lingering holds in his grasp, fear of losing you to the crowds. He found himself watching you far longer than he ever had before and during times when he didnât necessarily need to. The sound of you using the fresher while he tucked in his little green son had his heart pounding and a certain area of his armor feeling a little bit too uncomfortable.
He grew more and more protective the further you strayed without him.
He no longer wished for you to venture into dens alone to ask for information on his behalf but he couldnât deny that you were good at it.
Better than him.
You were calm and collected.
You had a level head.
Something that he could very easily lose control over should Grogu and yourself be threatened by a contact. Though it was the one thing you had learned you could assert yourself over since Dinâs change of heart.
You had a job that needed to be done and you were the best person for it.
So Din caved far quicker than he normally would with allowing you to go the cantinas and talk about bounties, pay and information. It sped up the process for Din to track them and also meant he didnât have to deal with the unwanted chit chat that came with meeting up with Karga.
Something you enjoyed. Something that had Dinâs palms itching whenever Karga took your hand to help you stand from the booth, Dinâs clenched fist aching to wipe the smug look of his face when he turned back in his direction.
âI like her, Mando. Sheâs good at getting what she wants.â
He knew you were.
Din wasnât sure if he was included on the list of things you wanted but you sure as hell were on his.
There was times he had a inkling.
Especially when he was feeding the kid and he caught you looking away when his eyes found you scraping away at your lunch.
Times when you would grab his hand without hesitation and pull him through midnight markets towards the sights of fireworks. Dinâs heart warming at the wide smile plastered across your face, the powdery shades of red, blue and green lighting up in your eyes from the sky.
Damn, he was down bad and he had no idea what to do about it.
Technically, he was your employer.
Juggling Grogu and his job was a difficulty. Most of the time he was happy to venture out with Grogu in his carrier or pod but his bounties got, letâs say, brave in their efforts to deter him. Going so far as to aim shots towards the child. They learned his weakness and Din hated it.
So with much reluctance to start, he asked Peli if she would be interested in babysitting him for a price but of course she refused; even with the money on the table.
âNot a chance but I know just the person for the job.â
He had slid the money off the table and walked back to the ship without another word until she scrambled after him.
âHey, hey, hey! Just hear me out, okay?â Din had sighed, turning back to her from the top of the ramp while she stood hands on her hips and a smile growing. âThereâs this kid that needs a job. Call âem a distant relative, if you will. Theyâre desperate. Need money, board, food, water and theyâll make sure your little boy is taken good care of. I swear!â
âHave they taken care of children before?â Din asked inquisitively but also with a half mind to ignore Peli completely and close the ramp in response to her proposal.
âYeah! Loads of times! Theyâre a professional!â
Din doubted that very much. He knew Peliâs tactics for selling him an offer and he couldnât deny that she was good at it.
Fine, heâll bite. Again.
âCall them.â
He just remembers Peliâs grin, your soft voice on the end of a comlink and then a speeder sounding just outside.
She had presented you to him like a rare gift and he was less than happy to receive you at the time but more than a few rotations later, you had thrown yourself in front of a bounty that had tried to commandeer his ship, their blaster aimed for Grogu in his bunk, taking a graze to the side before Din shot him dead.
You were willing to die to protect his son.
That was more than he couldâve ever asked for.
Later when Din was back at the Crest, you returned.
He had spent the past hours pacing up and down the ramp like a mad man.
Originally, he had planned to detour from the markets with Grogu over to the cantina but you had used your comlink to tell him you were already near the ship.
That was interesting because Din got back to the ship and you werenât even here.
Which begs the question, why did you lie that you were already nearby?
Maybe he was being paranoid. His fists clenching and unclenching repeatedly, stressing about your whereabouts and the obvious reason as to why he was so stressed to begin with.
So when heâd heard your footsteps up the ramp, your voice calling for Grogu, you were both surprised to see the other staring back.
âWhere have you been?â Din questioned gently but you sensed an underlining annoyance to his tone.
âI detoured, sorry,â you sheepishly smiled, holding up a bag of frog meat. âI saw a vendor selling this and I knew Grogu would be happy about it. Not to mention,â you brush past him, eyes focused solely on the sleeping child snuggling into his hammock on Dinâs bunk, âit would be nice to see him not eat a whole frog for once.â
You laugh and it eases Din.
Of course he was just being paranoid.
âAnd the contact?â He says and you remain with your back to him, reaching your hand in carefully to tug the blanket over Groguâs body. âHe give us what we need?â
âHe did,â you respond and Din satisfied, presses the button to bring up the ramp and close the hatch. The sound of it whirring so loud, in need of some oiling so much so that you had probably thought he missed your quiet words.
âWhat was that?â His helmet turns your way when the hatch closes with a loud creak.
âI said, somewhat.â
Okay, maybe he wasnât being paranoid after all.
Din feels his nerves wash over him, noticing how youâre not even turning around as you address him. He takes you in. You donât seem discomforted, angry or emotional. Youâre incredibly calm.
Though that was worrying.
Normally, you came back from having debriefs with the informants with a story to tell.
âIt was quite scary actually. They had this wookie with them but then youâll never believe this guy! Stood there, blaster in hand, immense glare in his face, goes and shoves a fist in his satchel, Iâm ready to throw hands and I shit you not, DinâŠwookie pulls out a cookie and starts crunching away at it!â
âHave you ever met a Gungan, Din? I think theyâre my favourite people Iâve ever met. I mean they were all like, yousa follow us now, okeyday? Seriously! Oh gooberfish! I love them!â
âWhat do you mean by somewhat?â
You sigh.
This wasnât good.
âIâm sorry, Din. They gave us the last location. I think thatâs the most important thing.â
âWhat about if theyâre solo or run with a crew? We need to know what weâre walking into, otherwise we could get bombarded the moment we land.â
This wasnât a simple bounty. This guy was one of the worst out there.
A slave trader.
It angered Din to even think about it.
âSomething happened,â he doesnât let you tip-toe around the subject. âWhat are you not telling me?â
You fall silent and thatâs enough for him.
Something did happen and whatâs worse, you donât want to tell him.
He moves towards you and you turn on your heel, ready to protest. Din had only meant to just embrace your shoulder gently to ease you into a conversation he thought you needed to have but the slightest wince had him drawing back almost immediately.
With his steps halted in front of you, the air cold, the crest filled with silence, Dinâs visor drops instinctively to your neck.
Was it getting cool? Sure, when it was getting late. Though right now, it was still early afternoon and you never wore a scarf in Mos Espa outside the settlement and in the dunes.
âDid he touch you?â
Din has to bite back the growl threatening to crackle through his modulator.
Your head drops, eyes on the floor and the look of regret on your features make Din pray to the Maker that heâll kill the man just for the expression on your face.
Then you unravel the scarf and Din wastes no time.
His hand had pulled your collar back gently, his shoulders stiffening at the purpled marks there.
You grimaced before trying for a smile but he sees the way your eyes plead with his, âBefore you ask, it looks worse than it feels. Iâm fine, Din. Letâs just go.â
He remembers you calling his name after that.
Only once because you knew as you watched him brush past you, grabbing two vibroblades from his armoury and charging down the steps towards the town, that there was nothing you could say to stop him.
And you were right because less than five minutes later, Dinâs blades were impaled on the informants hands, stapling him indefinitely to the table at the cantina while onlookers ran completely, hid or dropped their heads from his view.
Then his gloved hands were on his throat, squeezing the life out of him.
An eye for an eye.
You hadnât explained why the man had strangled you and it was pointless anyway.
He had no right to touch you.
To hell with Karga.
Heâd lose an informant but that informant chose to fuck with what was his and that was worth more than any information.
When Din felt the life leave him, he dropped a number of credits to the table, looked up at the barman and walked away. His last words being, âyou can keep those,â shrugging his shoulder towards the blades on the way out.
Now back at the ship, you sit rigidly on the bunk while Din gently swipes a lotion of bacta over your wound with a cotton wipe.
âI shouldnât have let you go.â
Your eyes flicker to his visor and you know heâs evading your gaze.
You sigh and for a moment, he think youâre not going to reply until your hands gently take his, stopping him from tending to you.
He lifts his visor then, meeting your concerned eyes, your fingers intertwined with his on your lap.
âI can handle myself. You know that, right?â
Oh. So thatâs what this was?
You were worried he thought you incompetent to end up in this circumstance?
Of course you would think that. Heâs your employer. You only want to deliver good work for him.
Thatâs not all this is anymore though and Din canât pretend and let you go on feeling like a failure especially with the tears dancing on your waterlines.
âYou are very capable, meshâla but-â Din sighs.
How can he even begin to explain to you that heâs more angry at himself for not protecting you like heâs supposed to?
Kriff, youâre not even a bounty hunter. Trained to use a blaster as a novice, he noticed how you flinched whenever youâve had to pull the trigger on his behalf. Youâre at your calmest when youâre rocking the small boy before bed, singing lullabies to him in a hushed tone probably so Din couldnât hear. You had no idea that he stood just above the ladder to the cockpit and listened.
You were ethereal and he couldnât get enough of you.
Thatâs why it made his hands shake to even think that anyone would harm you.
Heâs so caught up in his own thoughts, he misses the way your eyes widen at the term of endearment he let slip and the quick gesture as you shake yourself from how affected you are by it.
âI justâŠâ you break through his racing thoughts, his eyes latching onto your dipped chin, eyes shadowed in the corner of the docking port, just outside his bunk. You look solemn but rather than feel dread, Dinâs heart stills when he notices the flush of pink across your features.
If he didnât know any better, heâd say you were nervous.
âI just want to be able to do more for you.â
The words play on a loop, almost like theyâre colliding against the inside of Dinâs helmet, repeatedly soaring through his ears again and again.
âI want to be more useful for you. Ya know?â
Useful? You think youâre not already useful?
âSometimes I just feel like I have more to offer. I know you brought me in to be a babysitter but I can be more than that. For you.â
Was the carbonite freezing system failing or was it getting hotter in the crest?
Din felt like he needed to tug the shroud off from around his neck. The air was suffocating.
âPlease say something?â Your small voice says quietly.
âYou are more to me than you will ever understand, cyaârika.â
Your eyes meet his then.
Well, his visor at least and Din curses his creed for having him hide his face at a time when he wants- no needs you to see how much he means what he says.
Youâre silent but the increasing rouge of your cheeks is enough to see that you understand him and that perhaps there was some truth in his suspicions.
You felt for him just as much as he felt for you.
âDinâŠâ
And just like that, his eyes roll back momentarily hearing his name leave your tongue like a pleading prayer.
He couldnât pretend like you werenât affecting him too.
He needed you to know.
âGet in the bunk, ner karâta.â
Your body stills a moment in surprise and you donât move.
Maybe he misjudged or maybe heâs being too forward but then you stand and without taking your eyes away from him, you seat yourself on the side of his bunk.
Waiting for him.
Waiting for further instruction just like youâve been doing ever since you walked onto his ship.
One thing he realised he misjudged.
All those times you obeyed every command, it was never out of the need for his money.
You never questioned him, never refused an order but with Din and the matter of Groguâs safety, it was never a request and thatâs all it was to start.
It was just a matter of his sons safety until he realised he loved you too.
Din stands and steps in front of you, you look up at him as he tugs the shroud from around his neck loose.
He notices how your eyes drop to his waist, evading the reveal of his tanned skin while youâre positioned below him. He wraps the material a couple of times before placing the fabric over your eyes.
You donât move.
You donât flinch.
You just allow him to remove one of your senses, leaving nothing but darkness over your sight. His heart aches at the trust you have in him, allowing him to render you vulnerable before him.
He ties it behind your head, making sure itâs not too tight as to hurt you.
Heâs not the same type of man as the monster from earlier today.
His fingers itch at the memory and he shrugs his gloves off, setting his bare fingers against the cold metal of his helmet.
You await patiently and he watches as you jerk your head slightly at the familiar sound of his helmet releasing.
The sound youïżœïżœve only ever heard from a nearby room, hiding away from him when you brought him supper.
You await patiently while Din removes each piece of armor, setting it aside.
Then thereâs just silence.
Until you hear his knees hit the ground in front of you and a warm breath hits your neck, a shudder running up your spine.
âIs it okay if I show you something?â
His whispers hit your ear drum in the most delightful way.
You nod dreamily.
Then you feel rough, warm lips graze your neck.
If heaven was travelling at light-speed through space, it was right here and now with Dinâs lips travelling along your jawline, mapping out the path to seal against your lips. He tugs gently, coaxing you out of the shy shell you had created when you realised the butterflies he made you feel when you first met had more to do with how attracted you were to him than to how intimidating most people found him.
Every step he took on each planet you travelled, Din carried a powerful aura that most people cowered away from but it only drew you to him more.
You knew Din was strong.
You knew not many could beat him in a fight, yourself included but that was the whole point.
Din would never abuse his strength over you.
Ever.
Though, you wish he would, in special circumstances.
Like right now.
âHow do you feel, cyaâre?â Din inquires breathlessly, lips pressing soft kisses down your throat while you bite back the urge to be vocal.
âI wish weâd done this sooner,â you say uneasily, your hands gripping the bunk below you.
Dinâs chuckle hits your ear, reverberating against your ear drum exquistively.
âDin?â He hears your voice rattle with every nestle of his lips stroking over your skin.
âYes, meshâla?â He raises his head, lips brushing the underside of your jaw, watching your lips turn up into a small smirk. Though you couldnât see his expression returning yours, his adoring smile awaited your next words patiently.
âYou killed him, didnât you?â
You feel a thumb smooth over your bottom lip.
âHe deserved it,â you shake your head slightly, fighting away an amused smile on your lips that he quickly wipes away, replacing with an expression of longing when his lips meet your ear.
âYouâre mine.â

You are the mouthpiece for death. You remember the Bhagavad Gita and I am become death, destroyer of worlds. Look at me, you say, I am Time itself, and I must one day destroy your world as I have always done.Â
In the light of a long dead star, the last astronaut wakes up. After six decades, the worst has come to pass. The earth is dead, the sun has gone, and the mission to find a new, viable home has failed. There are no more horizons for humanity.
This Grave Calls You Home is a sci-fi thriller set in space after humanity is forced to leave Earth's ravaged surface following nuclear devastation and an environmental collapse. You play as an ER nurse aboard the NEW HORIZON, an immense space station courtesy of THE COALITION OF THE LAST FRONTIER. And it is here that your days pass in monotony, caring for the irradiated people born from Earth and the critically ill, trying your best to survive the relentless demands of the Emergency Room and your own deteriorating mental health. When a patrol flagship discovers the ARCADIA-II - a long-forgotten relic from humanity's past - and finds within slumbers an astronaut who had failed at delivering humanity from destruction, the routine of your life is throughly interrupted. [4.9k]
âI really wish youâd let me carry something, Neeks,â you whine out, pressing the button to call the elevator down to the parking garage.
âNope. Iâm perfectly capable of carrying your groceries on my own,â Nico dramatically swings the reusable shopping bags over his shoulder, walking a few feet away before turning and striking a pose.
Your laugh echoes around the concrete garage, amused at his theatrics.
Itâs been about three weeks since your accident at the rink, and Nico hasnât left your side since. As long as heâs in Jersey, that is.
After that first night heâs only really left your apartment to either go to practice and games, or to sleep. Sometimes even the latter not being true, considering thereâs been a few nights heâs crashed on your couch after late-night movie sessions or particularly rough games.
During your follow up appointment your doctor told you to keep the sling on for a few more weeks, not wanting to add any unnecessary strain to the healing muscles in your shoulder. After you told Nico the sling was here to stay, he insisted he was going to, literally, be your right-hand man.
You were also told, as long as you and the sling are one, going to work is on your list of restricted activities. So is any form of strenuous activity, lifting anything over ten pounds, and whatever else Nico deems unsafe for you to do. Like carrying your groceries.
Nico has shown up at your apartment every morning with a cup of coffee, either bringing you breakfast or offering to cook for you. He takes his post-practice and pre-game naps on your couch in case you need him to do anything for you. After home games he shows up with takeout and candy, keeping you company while youâre stuck in your apartment day after day.
When heâs on the road he enlisted the help of Jesperâs girlfriend, Nicole, to come over and check on you at least once a day. Anytime heâs playing in a different state, no matter where he is, he always manages to have dinner delivered to your house, making sure youâre not stuck eating microwave meals and simple dinners, thanks to your limited cooking ability and lack of being able to drive at the moment.
Before he has to leave for stretch of away games, he always makes sure he takes you to the grocery store, stocking your pantry and fridge to make sure you have everything you need while heâs gone. He calls you every chance he has on the road, wanting to check on you and how youâre feeling while keeping you up on the team happenings, knowing how eager you are to get back to work.
Today is one of his âpreparationâ days, as youâve dubbed them. He showed up this morning with a coffee and a bagel, cut into quarters instead of in halves, so the insides wouldnât slip out of the other side when you tried to take a one-handed bite. He did your dishes and folded your laundry for you while you showered, twisting your hair into one of his trademark braids after you were dressed before ushering you out of your apartment, claiming the two of you had errands to run.
The first errand on his list was taking you to the rink, a satisfied feeling settling over him when he saw the large smile on your face when he told you he asked if you could sit in on practice today. You were practically buzzing with excitement, not having been at the rink since the day of your fall. You had grown to love the sport of hockey during your time at your job. Missing the chill of the air, the sound of pucks sliding across the ice and the scrape of their skates as the players come to a stop.
Several of the players slide over to the bench where you sit, just as excited to see you as you are to see them.
Jack and Luke come over first, telling you how ready they are for you to be back, having given themselves the job of Puck Police, ensuring that all of the pucks are cleared out of the skate path leading towards the benches.
Jesper, Timo, and Holtzy tell you how much they miss the jokes you would tell them so they would quit mean mugging and actually smile during arrival pictures.
Dawson, Johnny, and Curtis joined the gathered group, bringing you a card that everyone from the team had signed. It was a giant novelty card, clearly custom made, considering there was a picture of the whole team on the front, the inside reading âSorry you fell over our pucks. We feel really pucking bad about it.â
You were doubled over in laughter the entire time the team spent chatting with you before their practice officially started, fulling understanding the sentiment that laughter is the best medicine. You were even able to give the young girl filling in for you some pointers, helping her adjust the settings on the camera for different shots, happy you were able to sneak in a little bit of work to your visit.
After practice was over and Nico was showered and ready to go, the two of you went out for lunch at a small cafĂ© just down the street from the rink, their large bakery selection immediately catching your eye. You ended up having cake for lunch, telling Nico to mind his own business when he asked if you wanted any ârealâ food.
Once lunch was over, he took you to the grocery store, helping you pick out ready made meals and a few other essentials before bringing you back to your apartment, where you were currently witnessing Nicoâs wannabe model moves.
Once the elevator lifts you to your floor, you walk over and unlock your door, leaving it open behind you for Nico to walk through, following you straight to your kitchen to put away your groceries.
You grab a box of cereal, setting it down on the counter before reaching up to open your cabinet door. Just as youâre reaching up to place the box on the shelf, you hear something fall, a bottle of water slipping off of one of the shelves in your fridge. You jump slightly, trying to turn your body at the same time, the sudden movement pinching one of the nerves in your shoulder, causing you to let out a hiss.
Nico immediately clocked the displeased noise, jerking his body into a standing position and walking over towards you.
âAre you okay? What happened? Did you try to lift this up with your bad arm?â he asks you, arms hovering around your frame, eyes glued your slinged shoulder.
You finish pushing the cardboard box onto the shelf, closing the wooden cabinet door.
Rolling your arm a bit, you turn to face Nico.
âIâm fine. Just jumped a little and it caught my shoulder in a funny way, I guess. No big deal, just more uncomfortable than anything,â you assure him.
He narrows his eyes at you, trying to gauge if youâre lying to him or not.
Narrowing your eyes back at him, you pull a face at him.
He backs up, laughing, seemingly convinced youâre fine.
Walking back over to finish placing the several salad kits you bought in the fridge, Nico starts talking with his head fully inside of your fridge.
âSo, we leave out around six tonight and I wonât be back until late Friday night,â he tells you, meaning heâll be gone almost four full days, considering today is Monday. âNicole offered to stay over here if you wanted her to, incase you needed to go anywhere.â
Youâve gained a friend in Nicole through this whole process, enjoying her company. You didnât have many girl friends in the city, your job taking up the majority of your time. Nico was the person you spent the most time with, even before these past few weeks, but you occasionally tagged along to outings with the team, growing close to Jack, Luke, Timo, and Jesper, too. You figure thatâs why Nico chose to ask Nicole to help out, seeing as youâd spent some time with her during celebratory bar nights and get togethers at Nicoâs apartment.
The two of you were friendly before, but now you would consider yourself good friends, going out to lunch together and watching bad reality tv during the day when she would come over. She even helped you do your skincare routine one night before bed, giving you different tips and tricks on the order of application. It felt like you were in middle school again having a sleepover with your best friend.
âI might take her up on that. I think thereâs new episodes of The Circle on Netflix. We could binge them while eating ice cream!â your eyes light up with an idea.
Nico laughs and shakes his head at you while shutting your fridge door.
âI really donât understand your obsession with these awful shows. Jesper and I were talking about how we wouldnât be surprised if the two of you signed up for your own spot on one soon.â
The thought of Nico talking about you when Jesper is talking about Nicole makes your brain stutter for a moment.
You canât deny that your new found feelings for Nico have continued to develop during the time heâs spent being your self-appointed helper. His insistence on being your personal chauffer, showing up every day like clockwork, even going as far to tell the media team the alternate captains are going to have to do post-game media for home games until youâre back to work causes your feelings to grow each day.
You havenât told your mom about the arrangement with Nico, not wanting to get her hopes up, still not entirely convinced Nico isnât just being nice. The two of you havenât shared any intense moments like the first night he braided your hair, now the braiding sessions being filled with small talk and laughter.
Hearing that Nico is bringing you up when Jesper is talking about his own girlfriend, however, sparks a seed of hope in you.
âAnd if we do, you and Jesper can be our cheerleaders from the other side,â you tell him, sticking your tongue out.
When Nico finishes putting away the rest of your groceries, he takes the reusable bag and returns it to its hiding spot under the sink.
At this point, Nico knows your apartment as well as you do. He knows where all of your dishes go, because he unloads your dishwasher and washes anything by hand that wonât fit. He knows where all of your clothes go in your room, helping you wash, fold, and put away your laundry â with the exception of your underwear, he hasnât earned access to that drawer yet. He knows where everything in your bathroom is, having to take a shower one morning after he crashed on the couch. He even knows which junk drawer has which random items in it.
Youâve become so comfortable with Nico being here, itâs like a tiny part of you doesnât want your arm to heal, just so he has to continue coming over and playing roommate.
Nico walks over and leans against your stove, facing you.
âAre you sure youâll be fine while Iâm gone? Itâs the longest stretch of away games weâve had since your fall.â
He looks genuinely worried, the thought causing a familiar swirl in your belly.
âIâll be fine, Neeks. This thing comes off next week anyways,â you lift the arm in your sling for emphasis. âIâm going to have to get used to you being gone again, anyways. This week will be like a practice run.â
You catch the way Nicoâs eyes just slightly fall. If you werenât always paying attention to his beautiful eyes, you wouldâve missed it, perking up just as quickly as they fell.
âGod, finally. Thought Iâd have to be your maid forever,â he exaggerates his words, making a big show of rolling his eyes and throwing his arms up above his head.
âOh shut it, you love hanging out with me,â you step towards him, wagging your finger in his face.
He tilts his head, pretending to think about your words. âYeah, I guess youâre pretty good company,â he reaches out, grabbing the finger a few inches from his nose.
The two of you stand there, his hand not letting go of your finger, letting it drop in-between your bodies.
His lips fall from his wide smile, slightly separated as he stares at you.
Feeling the energy shift, you stare back at him, not knowing what exactly is happening. Neither one of you have spoken for a solid minute now, your finger still trapped in his hand.
Your eyes flick down to his pink lips, and back up to his eyes. He darts his tongue out to lick his dry lips, unable to move your gaze from them this time. Thinking about what his lips would feel like on yours, the alarm bells start going off in your head.
Clearing your throat and stepping back, you break the moment, not knowing what else to do.
Nico drops your finger, bringing a hand up to run through his long hair, looking away from your face.
Was he thinking about kissing you like you were thinking about kissing him? Would you have really let him? Why did you interrupt the moment? You like him you idiot!
When Nico pushes himself off of your stove, you start ignoring the voice in your head.
âI need to get going. Still need to stop by my place and grab a few things before heading to the rink,â he says, still refusing to meet your eye. âIâll, uh, call you when we get there, like usual, okay?â
Nodding at him you reply with a âYeah, sounds good.â
âAlright. Good. Iâll see you in a few days?â he walks over to you, hands twitching at his sides like he wants to give you a hug, but doesnât know if he should.
You eliminate the space between you, wrapping him up in a hug. âSounds perfect. Play safe.â
He hugs your body to his for a few more moments before letting go, a small âByeâ leaving his mouth before he grabs his keys off of your kitchen table and exits your apartment with a wave.
You stand in your kitchen thinking about your interaction, deciding a phone call to your mother was needed.
âââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Grabbing the bowl of freshly popped popcorn, you walk back over to your living room and plop down next to Nicole.
Tonight was the night the boys are supposed to be getting back from their road trip. Since they werenât supposed to be getting back until late tonight, you decided to spend the evening watching some of your favorite rom coms to pass the time.
Nicole always said waiting for Jesper to get home on the day of was the worst, because she knows its so close but the time always seems to drag. You surprisingly understood, the past week feeling like the longest of your life without Nicoâs presence around your apartment.
After your phone call with your mom the other night, you allowed yourself to realize you want to be with Nico. Your confession to her that you did actually have feelings for the hockey player earned a squeal of joy and an extremely enthusiastic âI told you so!â
Talking with your mom about his actions throughout your whole accident and healing process really opened your eyes to how long youâve really had feelings for him. You werenât completely blind, finding Nico attractive from the very beginning, but you hadnât really let yourself go all the way. Preventing yourself from getting your hopes up and embarrassing yourself, you kept using the excuse of him just being nice to justify why there were no feelings involved in your friendship.
You realized what a load of bullshit that was, though, considering how often you found yourself calling him to tell him good news whenever you received any. Or wanting to have a movie night anytime you were upset or sad, knowing your mood would improve the second Nico walked through your door. Or all the times at the bar when you would ignore menâs advances, wanting to just spend time talking with Nico the whole night.
Your mom recounted all the times she knew, once again marking that first time he helped you on the ice as the moment. Sheâs still not able to convince you that it was then, considering you and Nico didnât even really know each other then.
Thinking back on your phone call with your mom made you think about how you hadnât heard from Nico in a while, pulling your phone out to see if he had given you any update on where they were.
Nicole threw a handful of popcorn at you, fussing at you to pay attention to the movie and that theyâll be home when theyâre home. You surrendered to her wishes and placed your phone face down on the coffee table in front of you.
Your third movie of the night was about halfway over when you heard a key turning in the lock on your door, knowing that only one other person had a key to your apartment.
You grab the remote and pause the movie, turning your body to face behind your couch, waiting for Nico to walk around the corner.
As he rounds the corner, suitcase in hand, you canât help the grin that breaks out on your face.
âYouâre back!â you exclaim, fighting the urge to leap off of the couch and crush him in a hug.
âIâm tired,â he responds, his smile bright but eyes tired.
The dark skin under his eyes confirm his words, assuming he had been asleep on the plane until they landed.
âWell, I guess that means I need to get home to Jesp,â Nicole says, sitting up and grabbing her shoes.
Nico looks over, mumbling out a âGood to see you Nicole, thanks for keeping her company this week,â before looking over at you, yawning as he told you he was going to take a quick shower then crash on your couch.
You give him a nod, telling him the stuff he bought last time was still in there.
Nicole gives the two of you a look, waiting until she hears the bathroom door shut to speak up.
âHe keeps shower stuff here?â
Looking over at her you explain the time he fell asleep here and needed to shower that morning, stating you had too many expensive looking products to waste on himself, so he bought his own shower essentials and uses them anytime he decides to shower here after practice.
âSo let me get this straight. He comes home to your apartment after a long road series, keeps his own products in your shower, has a key, and stays the night sometimes?â she watches you nod, her words not sinking in. âSo, he does all of this, but the two of you still claim youâre just friends?â
Not knowing how to respond, you just stare at her. She keeps looking at you, waiting for your answer.
âWellâŠI meanâŠI donât know,â you finally spit out.
âWhat do you mean you donât know?â she questions.
âI mean, thereâs little moments here and there that lets me think we could be more than friends, but I donât want to bring it up because what if heâs just being nice? What if he agrees that weâre really just friends?â you open up to Nicole, the only other person youâre able to talk about this with being your mom.
She scoffs at you. âAre you kidding me? What kind of moments? Because from where Jesper and I are sitting, we keep expecting you guys to make it official any day now.â
Your cheeks heat at her words. âWell, like the fact I never even had to ask him to do all of this stuff for me, he just did. And he admitted that he drove all the way to the hospital the night I got hurt because no one had any updates, then drove here with no socks on when they told him I had already come home. He keeps getting all of these restaurants to cut my food up in weird ways so itâs easier for me to eat with one hand. And if they donât do it, he will,â you keep rambling, not focusing on your surroundings enough to hear the shower shut off. âI mean, he offered me skating lessons when he saw me stumble on the ice once, then started coming over for dinner multiple times a week, unless theyâre on the road.â
Nicole looks past you down the short hallway, noticing the light shining through the open bathroom door.
You keep talking. âThe biggest one, though, is that I think we almost kissed before they left on Monday,â you tell her, causing Nicoleâs eyebrows to shoot up.
âSPILL,â Nicole insists, her interest at an all time high.
âWell, we were standing in my kitchen just goofing off and I stuck my finger in his face. He grabbed it and wouldnât let go, then we just kind of started staring at each other. Before I knew what was happening, I was staring at his lips and he was staring at mine, then I got nervous and stepped back before anything could happen,â you tell her with a shrug.
Nicole groans. âAre you serious!? You could have kissed him and you chickened out? What were you thinking?â
âI donât know! I was thinking âwhat if I just have something on my face and he doesnât actually want to kiss me.ââ
She shakes her head at you. Movement down the hallway catches her eye, watching Nico step out of the small bathroom, and idea forming.
âI mean, you do like him, right?â She watches Nicoâs figure stop in his tracks.
You sigh at her, letting your head sag a bit.
âOf course I like Nico. Heâs kind, funny, takes care of me,â you start, a dreamy tone making its way into your voice. âNot to mention heâs insanely attractive. I justâŠdonât want to mess things up.â
Nicole flits her eyes over to Nico while youâre not paying attention, watching his face morph into shock.
âY/N, the only way youâre going to be able to know if he feels the same way or not is to tell him. Forget about making a fool of yourself. Nico wonât shun you if he doesnât feel the same way, heâs not that kind of guy,â she assures you.
âI know, Nic. But how do I even bring it up? How do I find the right time to slide âhey, so Iâm pretty sure Iâm in love with you, let me know if you feel the same!ââ You pull a thumbs up at her, pulling a sarcastic face.
Nicole smirks at you, confusing you until she says âJust like that,â before pointing behind you to a freshly showered Nico standing in the hallway, having heard every word you just said.
You turn around, snapping your head back towards Nicole when you see Nico. You donât move, too petrified with the fact he just heard you say you were in love with him.
âY/N, is that true?â Nico calls out, cautiously walking towards your couch.
Nicole stands, claiming it was time for her to go before she hastily made her exit.
Your eyes are squeezed shut, trying to pull off the âif I canât see them, they canât see me,â move.
âIs what you just told Nicole true? Youâre in love with me?â you hear from in front of you now, feeling the couch dip.
You refuse to open your eyes, wanting to disappear into thin air. When Nico reaches his hand out, grabbing your non-slinged hand in his own, your eyes snap open.
Heâs looking at you with an expression in his eyes youâve only ever seen a few times before. Once when you wore his jersey for opposites day at work, handing him your camera to tote around all day as you, very poorly, skated around the ice, trying to scoot a puck around. The second was when you surprised him with a pan of brownies for his birthday, knowing how much he loves the chocolatey squares. The third was when he braided your hair for the first time, recognizing the softness of his eyes through the mirror. The most recent, aside from right now, was earlier this week, during the same moment you just described to Nicole.
âIâŠâ you try to speak, but youâre still stuck in shock.
Nico chuckles and drops his head, looking at your hand in his.
âWould it make you feel better if I told you Iâm pretty sure Iâm in love with you, too?â he repeats your words, looking up and into your eyes as he says them.
Your mouth snaps shut, a new kind of shock entering your system.
âI think I have been since that first time Jack almost took you out on the ice,â he starts. âI had seen you before, but we only really spoke when you were telling me how to pose for pictures. Or making me smile for arrival pictures,â he reminisces, a fond smile on his face. âI always thought you were the most beautiful woman Iâd ever seen, but I knew I had to get you to talk to me somehow, the skating lessons being my perfect in,â he tells you, squeezing your hand.
You canât believe your mother was right. The lessons were a calculated move for Nico to establish himself in your life.
Nico keeps talking, pulling you from the realization. âThe more we spent time together, the more I realized I wanted you to be more than just my pretty coworker I taught how to ice skate. So, when you offered the dinners after lessons, I jumped. I was hoping it was your way of telling me you had feelings for me, too, but when you kept telling your mom we were just friends, I figured I could wait it out a little longer,â he references all the times you complained about your mom jumping to conclusions. âI kept lying in wait, trying to find the perfect moment to make my move, and then you got hurt. I was so worried when they told me you fell and they had to take you to the hospital. Got scared it was my fault, that I told you the wrong thing during a skating lesson, or I pushed you to skate on your own before you were ready,â he starts rubbing his thumb across the back of your hand.
âWhen I realized you would need major help while your arm was in that sling, not even being able to brush your hair by yourself, I knew this is where I could tell you. Maybe bring it up when I was braiding your hair, or slip a note in your bagel bag one morning. Hell, I even thought about spelling it out with sushi pieces that first night, but figured that might be a bit tacky,â you laughed at his words, remembering wondering what was taking him so long to bring your food to you. âBut then, every time I thought about it, I chickened out. The closest I ever got was the moment in your kitchen, every muscle in my body screaming at me to just lean in and kiss you,â your laugh is cut short at his confession. âWhen you pulled back before I could, I assumed you didnât feel the same way, so I left. I was embarrassed, not wanting to sit in the rejection any longer. But this week, being away for so long after spending nearly every day with you for the past three weeks, I knew I had to tell you.â
Youâre glad he was as affected by not being around you this week as you were, not feeling as pathetic anymore.
âWas going to tell you when I walked through the door actually, but then I saw Nicole here and didnât want to do it in front of her. That worked out great, didnât it?â he laughs at the situation, Nicole clearly having different plans.
You scoff out a âYeah, clearly, considering she railroaded me without me even knowing.â
âWell, Iâm very glad she did, because now I can stop talking about you like a lovesick puppy to them,â Nico tells you, confirming your earlier feeling that Nico brings you up during âgirlfriend talkâ.
âMy mom is so totally going to freak out when I tell her weâre dating,â you tell him, stopping yourself. âWe are dating, right?â
Nico laughs as he brings his hands up to cup your face, pulling you in for a kiss, his lips as soft as you imagined they were. He keeps the kiss light and sweet before pulling back.
âIâll take that as a yes,â your cheeks flush, earning another laugh from the man in front of you.
âCâmon, Iâm tired and would love to sleep in an actual bed tonight. We can talk details tomorrow, girlfriend,â he emphasizes the word. âRight now, I need cuddles and sleep,â he stands, holding his hand out for you to grab as you stand, leading you down the hallway towards your bedroom.
Thinking back to what lead you to this moment, you giggle quietly to yourself, finding it a little comical that it took you literally falling on the ice and injuring yourself to realize youâd already fallen there once before.

The puck finds the back of the net. The lamp lights up and the horn goes off. Everyone thatâs wearing a yellow and blue jersey in Yost Arena is on their feet immediately. (Y/N) celebrates with the crowd in her borrowed jersey. She smiles and cheers while all the Michigan boys come out onto the ice to celebrate their overtime win right in front of her.
Ethan looks up into the stands right at his best friend. He points at her with a smile on his face even though sheâs about six rows off the glass. She waves at him before he goes back to celebrating with his team. He gives helmet taps and he gets helmet taps.
He looks good in full gear on the ice. She may have to come to Michigan more often to come watch him play. It's very rare that she gets to come out to watch Ethan play for Michigan. It's not like she hasnât been watching him play their entire lives. Even when she wasnât allowed to go out and watch him play.
One time when she was grounded at 13, she snuck out of the house to go watch him play despite knowing both of Ethanâs parents were at the game. They didnât snitch on her though. She was thankful because she got to watch him score two goals and get an assist on the game winner. She's been like a daughter to them since she and Ethan met in preschool.
Slowly, the players make their way off the ice and she finds her way to the hallway with the door that leads to the locker rooms. She leans against the wall outside the door because she doesnât want to see something that would scar her for life.
She shoots Ethan a text so he knows sheâs waiting for him. He doesnât respond so she assumes heâs either talking to his coach or taking his postgame shower.
To keep busy, she scrolls through her social media and likes a few posts. She tweets pictures of Ethan on the ice when he was warming up and when he scored a goal in the second period. They quickly begin to circulate on Twitter and Instagram.
The door opens and some of Ethanâs teammates begin to start walking out with their wet hair and casual clothes on. Some of them say hi and that it's nice to see her as they walk past. Rutger tells her that Ethan is coming out âsoonâ. Soon for Ethan Edwards is either five minutes or a half an hour.
âSoonâ this time means ten minutes. Ethan comes out in a button up, his letter jacket, nice dress pants, and a Michigan beanie. âHey,â he says. âGlad you could make it. Sorry I didnât get to see you before the game started.â
She smiles and gives him a side hug. One of his arms drapes over her shoulders and her arm wraps around his waist. âIâm here for a few days so you can make it up to me,â she tells him. âWhat do you think of the jersey? Stole it from your closet after Seamus let me into the house.â
Ethan backs away and looks at (Y/N) in his jersey. She turns in a slow circle so he can get a good look at her in the jersey. âLooks better on you than it does on me,â he admits. âGood to know that you still rock my name and number on your back.â
(Y/N) laughs but she wishes she could rock his name in another way. âSo whatâs the plan for tonight?â she asks. âJust hang out? Watch a movie? Show me around Ann Arbor?â
Before he can respond, a girl comes running up from behind Ethan and jumps on his back. She wraps herself around him. âThat was a sexy goal you scored tonight, Eddy,â she says into his ear. âLooked good doing it too.â
Ethan smiles and turns his head to look at the girl in the Michigan hockey hoodie. âYou think so?â
âKnow so,â she giggles. âYouâre so hot when you put the puck in the back of the net.â The girl begins pressing kisses against his jaw. He laughs and (Y/N) bites her bottom lip so she doesnât say anything. It takes everything not to say some snarky comment.
She knows girls constantly throw themselves at him. Ethan isn't afraid to call her after one of his one night stands. He is one of the most attractive guys she knows, heâs super smart, and one of the most talented hockey players that she's ever seen play. He knows it too and doesn't shy away from the attention.
It isnât a secret that girls on this campus want to hook up with him or be with him.
What is a secret is her feelings for her best friend. She is no better than the girls that throw themselves at Ethan. If she could then she would, but theyâre friends and that would be crossing a line that shouldnât be crossed. There's no going back if that line gets crossed.
And she's terrified of crossing that line. It doesn't mean she doesn't get jealous of other girls that tell Ethan how sexy he is and how good he looks when he scores goals without crossing that line. She wishes she could be one of those girls that gets to throw herself at him.
"You and your teammates should come to the party that happening at the house tonight," she suggests. "I think it would be super fun to hang out with the hockey team. To hang out with you. You can even bring your little friend here. She looks like she could use a good party." The girl looks her up and down in Ethan's jersey.
That last comment really pisses her off though. She completely loses her filter, and she's not even sorry.
"Who do you think you're talking to?" she asks, eyes boring into the girl on Ethan's back. "You can hop right off my boy's back now and find someone else to fuck tonight because I promise you that he isn't interested in fucking you. Bye bye." She waves goodbye to put some emphasis on her words.
The girl lowers herself back to the ground with a roll of her eyes. Ethan looks between the nameless girl and (Y/N) as the nameless girl shoulder tackles her. She resists every urge to punch this girl in the face despite the pain in her shoulder as she walks away.
She looks back at Ethan when the nameless girl leaves the arena. She follows her outside so they can go home after a minute. He blinks at her when they get in his car before he says, "I don't think I have ever seen you get like that."
"Like what?"
"So possessive," Ethan tells her as he starts his car. He pulls out of the parking spot and heads toward the house he lives in with Dylan, Tyler, and Luca. "Almost like you were jealous of her."
Her head snaps in his direction to look at him. "I wasn't jealous of her," she lies. "I was protecting you. The amount of calls I've gotten at two in the morning because you're upset that another girl left you in your bed is a little ridiculous."
"You're not wrong about that," he comments. "I guess it is ridiculous."
Every time Ethan's girl of the night leaves him after a party or bringing a girl back after a game, he calls his best friend and she gets to hear all about the sex or how he thought she was the one that wasn't going to leave him.
She's gotten very tired of it so she's taking a stand for him.
"So, you never told me what the plan was for the night since it's my first night in Ann Arbor," she says as Ethan turns out of the parking lot. "We could go to that party she was talking about if you want, or I'm perfectly okay with staying in tonight since you have another game tomorrow."
Ethan glances at her as she drives. "Is there something you'd like to do?" he asks. "You're here for a week so I'm also okay if you don't want to go out tonight. There will be parties during the week we can go to if you're okay with snacks and a movie or two. I'm pretty sure my roommates are going out tonight anyway so we'll have the house to ourselves to catch up."
Ideas flow through her head. She wants to do a lot in the next seven days that she's in Michigan before she heads back to Alberta.
Tonight though, she just wants to spend time with Ethan without worrying about which girl is going to throw herself at him next.
"Movie night with snacks sounds really nice," she eventually tells him.
He smiles and makes a turn. "You can look through my Netflix when we get back to the house," he tell her. "I need to take a longer shower when we get back so while I'm in the bathroom, you can find a movie that we can watch."
She nods and scrolls through her phone while Ethan drives. It's not a long drive from Yost to the house he shares with three of his closest friends and teammates. It's maybe ten minutes before Ethan pulls into the driveway. There are no other cars in the driveway so he was right about them having the house to themselves tonight.
A very excited (Y/N) gets out of the car and Ethan is quick to follow her. She has an idea of what movie she wants to watch but she has to check to make sure it's on Netflix before she gets too excited about it.
Ethan disappears into the bathroom that's attached to his bedroom. She disappears into the kitchen to gather some snacks for them to eat while they have their movie night.
She makes some popcorn but also puts together a candy bowl filled with M&Ms, Reese's Cups, mini Twix, and Hershey Kisses. Sweet and savory choices for them. She even grabs two cans of soda that are in the fridge so they have something to drink.
When she walks into Ethan's room with the bowls of snacks and cans of soda, he is walking out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. She has to look away before she stares at the water droplets rolling down his chest.
"Jesus, E," she gasps. She almost drops the snacks and drinks so she can cover her eyes. Ethan uses his hands to cover his crotch like she can see through the towel around his waist. "You couldn't have brought clothes into the bathroom with you?"
"I did," Ethan replies. "I forgot underwear. I opened the door so see if you were in here and you weren't so I wrapped a towel around myself. You were in here when I came out to put on underwear."
She glances at Ethan as he pulls up the pair of boxers over his waist. His back is to her so she admires him from behind for a second. His thighs are insane and every single back muscle works as he dresses himself. He turns his head to look at her as soon as he's wearing a shirt again. She quickly looks at the snacks in her hands to act like she wasn't watching him get dressed.
"Warn a girl before you walk into a room with nothing but a towel on, Ethan," she tells him as she sets the bowls and cans down on the table next to his bed. She crawls onto the mattress and grabs the TV remote.
"It's not like you haven't seen me naked before," he says.
"It has been literally like fifteen years since I saw you naked," she retorts. "It's your fault we were even in that situation because you decided to cover both of us in mud. Your mother decided that it would be funny to bathe us together."
Ethan laughs and crawls onto his bed next to her. "My bad," he says. "Anyway. Did you find a movie to watch or are we winging it?"
She loads his Netflix account and replies, "I think I know what I want to watch but I have to make sure it's still on here. If it's not then we'll wing it."
"Okay," he slowly says. "What movie?"
As soon as he asks, My Best Friend's Wedding pops up when she goes into the romance movies section. Ethan raises his eyebrows and looks over at her when she clicks it. "Seriously?"
"What?" she asks. "It's a romcom. I know you don't watch many of those so I thought we could watch one of my favorite ones." Ethan frowns. "Come on, E. You'll love it. I promise."
He sighs as the movie begins to play. âIf I hate it then we are going to watch Miracle or Mighty Ducks,â he tells her. Sounds like a plan to her so she nods in agreement.
She hands Ethan his soda and he cracks it open.
Picking My Best Friend's Wedding was kind of a hint in a way since Julia Roberts' character is in love with her best friend, who is marrying someone else. She didn't lie when she said it's one of her favorite romcoms though. She adores this movie and loves Julia Roberts.
He seems very into the movie though. Not once does he complain about how stupid it is. It's throwing her off a little bit.
Ethan reaches over her to grab one of the snack bowls around what she thinks is the halfway point of the movie. "I could've given it to you, asshole," she tells him. "You didn't have to reach over me when I'm trying to watch the movie."
"I just wanted some candy," he replies with a mouthful of chocolate. "I need to munch while watching the movie, (Y/N)."
She laughs and looks over at him as he stuffs a Reese's Cup in his mouth. She steals one of the Hershey Kisses out of the bowl and tosses it into her mouth. Ethan smiles and does the same. She shakes her head and goes back to watching the movie.
As she watches one of her favorite scenes toward the end of the movie, she's slightly on edge. She's very still the entire time. It's the scene where Julia Roberts' character Jules tells her best friend Michael, played by Dermot Mulroney, that she is in love with him and they share a kiss.
When she quickly glances beside her at Ethan, she finds him already looking at her. She quickly turns her head and looks away from him. Her cheeks begin to heat up like sheâs embarrassed that he caught her looking at him.
He catches her chin and turns her head back so sheâs looking at him again before sheâs fulling facing the movie.
âEth-â
âPlease donât say anything or else I wonât be able to do this,â he says to interrupt her.
She raises her eyebrows in confusion as Ethanâs thumb brushes over her bottom lip. His eyes flicker down to her lips before moving back up to her eyes. The eye contact theyâre holding makes her entire body shake with excitement and anticipation.
Ethan doesnât make any moves. His eyes float and study every part of her face, taking in every detail that he can see in the mostly dark room.
Very hesitantly, she throws a leg over one of his thighs and she straddles his leg. Ethan pushes her hair behind her ear and cups her jaw.
The entire time, they hold each otherâs eyes. The tips of their noses touch every time Ethan moves in then backs away like heâs unsure.
âDo something,â she whispers, desperate. Her hands rest on his chest. âEthan. Kiss me.â
He wastes no time.
Ethan sits up and wraps his arms around her waist to pull her closer to him. He crashes his lips to hers like heâs done holding back. She leans into him and deepens the kiss, pushing him back until heâs sitting up against the headboard.
The movie is soon forgotten about behind her. All she can hear is her own heart pounding in her ears. She no longer had any idea of what is going on behind her because sheâs so focused on whatâs in front of her.
She feels Ethanâs hands slither up the back of the jersey sheâs still wearing. She never took it off and switched to a pair of black Lululemon shorts after she took off her leggings. A smile forms on Ethanâs lips when he realizes that she still has on his jersey.
Ethanâs fingers run up and down her back at the same time hers find their way under Ethanâs Michigan hockey t-shirt. She presses her fingers into his abs and sighs. All she has wanted to do since Ethan built up the muscles he has now is touch them.
Now she can.
âTake it off,â Ethan mumbles into a kiss as he pulls at the jersey. âI love seeing you in it but it needs to come off right now."
She reaches down between them and pulls the jersey over her head, breaking the kiss in the process. When she gets the jersey off, she sees Ethanâs eyes are on her body. She bites her bottom lip and grabs the bottom of Ethanâs shirt.
Might as well get it off now before they get distracted again.
Ethan gets the cue and sits up. She pulls the thin fabric off of him and tosses it to the floor with the jersey. Her eyes meet his and she finds a hunger in them that she's never seen before.
Friends definitely don't look at friends that way so something is changing between them. Goosebumps form on her exposed skin as she realizes that this could be the beginning of something new. Their whole relationship is changing with every second and every touch.
He cups her jaw with both his hands and runs his thumbs over her cheekbones.
"You have no idea how much I've wanted you like this," Ethan softly confesses, looking between her eyes.
"I think I have an idea," she whispers as she leans in to connect their lips again.
Their lips make contact with each other and she presses her chest flush against his. In the process, she rolls her hips and grinds her clothed core on his thigh. She gasps at the pressure and Ethan's hands fly to her waist.
She tries it again and lets out a soft whine. She's surprised at how good it feels. Ethan smiles into the kiss as she begins to use his thigh to get off.
It makes sense to her that she would like this. She was just thinking about his thighs earlier when he was getting dressed.
The kiss breaks and she rests her forehead against Ethan's. Soft pants pass her swollen lips and Ethan smiles. "Gonna use my thigh to come?" he asks. "You gonna get off using my thigh, baby?"
"Mhm," she hums. "Feels good. Kind of in love with your thighs, E."
He laughs and helps her move her hips.
She can feel how muscular his thighs are through her shorts and his sweatpants. Just like she thought earlier - his thighs are insane.
A knot already forms in the pit of her belly. Her breathing has gotten very labored and she claws at Ethan's chest, definitely leaving behind some scratch marks he'll get teased for later by his teammates.
"Ethan," she breathes out. "Fuck."
He presses kisses to her jaw. "I got you," he tells her. "Go ahead. Come."
Almost like she was waiting for his permission, she comes with a cry. She ruins her panties and probably her shorts at the same time. Her fingers find Ethan's hair and she lightly grips his locks because she needs something to hold onto.
Ethan peppers her jaw and cheek with light kisses as she lays her head on his shoulder while she comes down from her high. He lightly brushes her hair out of her face and she hums a little "thank you".
"Feel better?" he asks. "Got it out of your system?"
She rolls her eyes and lifts her head as soon as she has enough strength to. "For now," she retorts. "Right now though, I need you to get inside of me because it's all I've been thinking about for years."
He smiles and quickly rolls them over so she's on her back. "Your wish is my command," he says as he hooks his fingers into the waistband of her ruined shorts and panties. "Hope you don't need to walk in the morning."
Her eyes widen as he pulls off the shorts and panties in one go. She lifts her hips off the bed to help him out. She's completely exposed to him now since she went without a bra under the jersey. She crosses her arms over her chest.
Ethan is quick to grab her hands and uncover her body. "Don't hide from me, baby," he tells her. "You're beautiful. I've always thought you were beautiful. You never have to hide from me."
She nods and Ethan gets on his knees between her legs. She watches as he pushes off his boxers and sweats. His dick pops out of his boxers and she bites her bottom lip.
Yeah, sheâs not going to be able to walk in the morning. It really is a good thing she doesnât have to go anywhere.
He leans over and reaches into his bedside table. He had a tiny silver package between his fingers when he comes back to hover over her.
âI need to make sure you are absolutely okay with this,â he says. âYou arenât going to regret this or anything like that. I donât want you to think that Iâm pressuring you-â
âEthan, if you donât fuck me in the next two seconds, I am going to get up and go find someone who will,â she interrupts.
His eyes darken when he makes the comment about going to find someone that will fuck her. âOh hell no,â he mumbles before he tears the condom package open with his teeth. She smiles as he slides the condom onto himself.
Her fingers find a home in Ethanâs hair when he leans over her. She holds his locks from falling into his face since he does have longer hair. He lines himself up with her and meets her eyes. âI trust you, E,â she tells him. âI have always trusted you.â I love you.
With her reassurance, Ethan slowly pushes into her. She gasps and bites her lip. âFuck, (Y/N),â he breathes out. âSo tight. God.â
Being tired of hearing him talk, she leans up and presses her lips to his. She wraps her arms around his neck as he bottoms out in her. Ethan presses his hands into the pillows on either side of her head so he doesnât crush her.
She rolls her hips so she feels Ethan move inside of her. A soft sigh passes her lips into the kiss. Ethan leans into her and deepens the kiss. Her fingers drag down his back as he finally begins to roll his hips so he moves in and out of her.
The sound of soft whines and moans fill the room until the sound of the bed creaking follows when Ethan speeds up his movements. She breaks the kiss and arches her back off the bed and Ethan kisses her chest.
âSuch a good girl for me,â Ethan pants. âMaking these pretty noises. Does my cock feel good inside you, baby?â
âSâ good,â she breathes out. âFeels so good, E. You make me feel so good. Fuck.â
He smiles against her skin. He pushes one of her legs up and lets it hook around his arm, and heâs able to move even deeper inside of her. She cries out in pleasure and her head begins to spin.
Itâs been years since she realized that she was in love with her best friend. He is all she has wanted since they went to prom together in their senior year of high school.
Even if he doesnât love her, the fact that he is on top of her means that he has to feel something for her.
Right?
This is a welcomed change in their relationship. Going from friends to this is welcomed.
Her legs begin to shake as her second orgasm of the night starts to build in her belly. Ethan changes his pace every so often but continuously moves deep into her so heâs completely inside of her.
Sheâs pretty sure her breasts are marked up because of the way Ethan keeps nipping and sucking at the skin. It doesnât bother her.
Getting marked by Ethan is never going to bother her.
Ethan pulls out then slams into her. âHoly fuck,â she cries out. âShit, E.â
âJust wanna make my girl feel good,â Ethan pants.
He does it again and she clenches around him. She comes without warning and with Ethanâs name on her lips. Her entire body shakes and her vision goes white.
Itâs probably the hardest she has ever come in her life. No one has made her feel as good as Ethan has.
It must be a minute before she comes to because he has a cloth in his hand and is cleaning her up. Her breathing is extremely labored and her entire body feels heavy. He tosses the cloth to the floor with their clothes and she looks at the TV.
âAre you still watchingâ lights up the screen and she canât help but smile at the realization of what just happened.
Ethan pulls the blankets over their naked bodies and asks, âWhatâs with the smile?â
She looks up at him and says, âI really liked it. I liked being able to touch and kiss you.â
âSo, what Iâm hearing is that you wouldnât mind doing it again?â he questions.
âAbsolutely not.â
A loud knock rings out throughout the room and Luca is on the other side as he says, âWalls are thin! I donât feel like buying ear plugs so please keep it down! Also, itâs about damn time.â
She covers her mouth and laughs. Ethan rolls his eyes and gets comfortable. âI need to move out and get my own place.â
âI second that.â

Pucking Chemistry
Summary: You never shouldâve agreed to tutor the captain of the hockey team. Who shows up a full hour after the agreed meeting time? Choi Seungcheol, apparently as youâve come to learn. And now youâre stuck tutoring him because for some reason, you're his last hope to pass chemistry so heâs eligible to play in an upcoming tournament.Â
Warnings: cursing because I canât help myself lol, mentions of your father abandoning the family (it's minor and only mentioned like once)
Word Count: 9.9K (I was possessed lol)
Extra info: high school setting, Cheol uses the term "princess" a lot and I'm a sucker for calling people by their last name, mentions of Monsta Xâs I.M (aka Changkyun) and Kardâs Somin (but she gets mentioned like once lol), your little brotherâs name never gets mentioned but you do call him Frosty lol, and my knowledge of hockey is limited to watching Dr. Mike on yt talk about hockey injuries so thereâs not a whole lot of hockey action in this fic lmao.
Author's Note: this fic made me realize my little brother is turning 13 this year and I canât handle that because what do you mean heâs a teen now he literally turned one the other day and I think that shows in this fic lol. Also if I only count the days I actually sat down to write this fic it only took me 3 days lol, but I had 3 tests this week and had to be productive so that nerfed me. This is also the first fic I'm posting in this app so bare with me lol and in honor of Scoups and Jeonghan getting cleared to return to activities, I present the beginning of this series
Sporteen Masterlist
Sitting in the schoolâs library, all your chemistry notes laid out, you began to rethink agreeing to tutor the schoolâs hockey captain, Choi Seungcheol. With another glance to your phone, you sighed, ten minutes passed what the two of you agreed to meet at. If you didnât like your chemistry teacher as much as you do, you would have never agreed to do this.Â
Heâs a sweet guy, Iâm sure he wonât give you any problems!
But itâs only ten minutes and sometimes things come up. Maybe heâd walk in after a few more minutes and then you two could finally start.Â
Except those ten minutes slowly morphed into thirty minutes, forty five minutes, and now suddenly itâs an hour and not a single word from Choi Seungcheol about where the hell heâs at.
And while having to wait an hour for someone to show up to something they needed sucked, thatâs not what pissed you off. What pissed you off was the fact that after this tutoring session, you had a date with Changkyun, set up by your friend Somin, but thanks to the no show Choi Seungcheol, youâd have to rush home, get your little brother ready for the evening and get ready for your date. And while you could hypothetically get everything done in time, you would prefer it if you didnât have to rush. Your little brotherâs probably gonna complain about his quick dinner of chicken nuggets and macaroni after you promised him yesterday youâd make him what he called an âactual meal.â You reminded him that he was twelve and fully capable of cooking for himself and suddenly the quick meal was the best thing heâs ever eaten.Â
So he could survive a rushed meal, however getting ready for your date was a different story. Rushing to get ready in the morning for school was one thing. You could halfass an outfit and get your brother out the door in fifteen minutes flat if your mom was already at work, but you needed a little more time to actually look good enough for someone who wasnât related to you or hasnât seen you slumped over your desk with textbooks and notes sprawled all over the floor.Â
Now, because of Choi Seungcheol, youâd have to rush, something you wished wouldnât happen.Â
âSweet guy my ass,â you mutter under your breath as you begin shoving your things into your backpack. Just as you finished shoving the last textbook into your backpack, a deep voice caught you off guard before you rolled your eyes. Â
âWhereâre you going princess, arenât you gonna tutor me?âÂ
Oh?Â
Letting out a low chuckle, you turn to face the captain who you wished you could smack that smirk off his face and crossing your arms over your chest, you leaned against the table. âTutor you? I agreed to tutor you an hour ago, and since thatâs passed, Iâm heading home to go enjoy my evening.âÂ
As you turned around to grab your backpack and go home, you felt a hand on your shoulder. You looked up to see him holding onto you, a hesitant look in his eyes. Your brows furrowed as you shook his hand off.Â
âLook, Iâm sorry about being late, but something came up.â He muttered, his hand falling to his side as he shoved his hands into the front pocket of his hoodie. You scoffed as you shouldered your bag. âToo busy to send a heads up?âÂ
You look up to see a light blush dust his cheeks as he looks away from you, and if you werenât so pissed at him, youâd find him kinda cute.Â
âIâm sorry.âÂ
You sighed as you glance at the clock on the wall, and with a sigh, you turn to the hockey player. âLook, I have plans so I can give you 45 minutes.âÂ
âForty five minutes? Thatâs barely any time to learn anything,â he complained with a small pout on his lips as you rolled your eyes. âTake it or leave it Choi, youâre the one who was late.âÂ
He let out a small huff before agreeing to the terms, pulling out a chair as you pulled out your phone, setting an alarm for exactly 45 minutes. Thankfully tutoring him wasnât terrible, he actually seemed to listen to you and he even took notes while you explained the most recent lesson to him. Maybe if he was kind enough to send a message earlier you might actually feel bad about leaving, but alas that wasnât the case.Â
With the default alarm ringing, you began packing up your things once again, this time, really just throwing everything with no regard as to how things landed in your bag. With a little speeding you should be able to make it home in about fifteen minutes which gives you about ten minutes to make your brotherâs dinner and have about thirty minutes to get ready for your date. Perfect timing as long as you leave right now.Â
Just as you begin to walk away, pulling up your little brotherâs contact to tell him youâre on your way, Seungcheol calls you out. âAre we still good for next week?â You freeze, slowly turning to look at him as your phone rings. âNext week? Listen Choi, I think itâs best if you find someone else to tutor you.â
Before he can say anything, you cut him off. âListen, I have things to take care of after school and I canât wait for over an hour, wondering if youâll show up. Iâll tell Ms. Park to find someone else and we donât have to worry about seeing each other again.â With that, you walk out the library, your little brother having finally picked up and making things easier for you as he grabbed all the food you told him to.Â
Looks like things will be going back to normal after today, no more having to worry about Choi Seungcheol.Â
Or so you thought.Â
What you didnât expect to see when coming to pick up your little brother from his little hockey club practice is Choi Seungcheol out on the ice, with your little brother excitedly talking to him about who knows what.Â
You internally groan, why, just why did he have to be the one to coach your little brotherâs team. And why did you have to say youâd never see him again, itâs like you were asking for the universe to play a cruel prank on you by making sure this would happen to you.Â
Weeks ago, when your little brother asked you if you could start taking him to a hockey club he joined every Saturday, you didnât see any issue with it initially. As long as he had the proper gear (that your guysâ mom provided) you thought it was great he found a sport he enjoyed after he burned through basketball, soccer, tennis, and baseball in a matter of a few years. Plus it meant you could have Saturday to yourself for a few hours while everyone else was out of the house. So a win-win in your book.Â
Or so it was a win before you were left in disbelief, standing off to the side as you watched him talk to Seungcheol. You shook your head, calling out his name as you made your way to the plexiglass wall, wanting to go home. You made the rookie mistake of walking into the rink with no jacket, thinking it would be a quick run of picking him up and going back home. How foolish of you to think things would work out for you.Â
You let out a small gasp as you made eye contact with your little brother, holding it for a few seconds, only to have him ignore you and continue to talk to his coach, who you knew was aware of your presence. You groan, grounding the heels of your palms into your eyes. Oh how you wished you were an only child in moments like this. Instead you were cursed to be a big sister to a little brother who made your life oh so difficult.Â
Calling out his name one more time, he finally looked over at you and started to make his way off the rink. You sighed, thankful you werenât going to have to resort to actually going out on the ice to drag him out.Â
âTook you long enough, Iâm freezing over here,â you said once he was at the wall, carefully stepping onto the non-frozen ground with his skates. âThatâs on you for not bringing a jacket into the rink.âÂ
âAnd thatâs on you when all you get for dinner is a slice of bread,â you say when you hand him his sneakers that he had put on the seats before practice had started, and where his backpack was. âCanât believe you feed me like Iâm some paperboy from the 1900s,â he grumbled, but he took the shoes.Â
Before you could shoot back a reply, Seungcheol skates up to the wall, a smirk on his face. You roll your eyes, wishing heâd go back to doing figure eights or whatever the hell he does on the ice. He calls out your name but you choose to pretend you donât hear him, instead leaning down to grab your brotherâs backpack, a small groan leaving your lips from the sheer weight in his bag. Itâs like he carries rocks in this thing, you complain as you shoulder the bag. He shoots you a look as if asking why are you carrying my backpack, but he doesnât question it, you know the whole gift horse saying.Â
Just as he finishes tying his shoe, Seungcheol crosses the threshold, leaning against the door as he eyes you. You could feel your eye twitching as you watched him what looked like inspect you, and you fight back a groan when he smirks at you. Â
âWhat happened to never seeing each other again prin-âÂ
âDonât finish that sentence,â you grit out, hoping your little brother could help you if he truly cared about you. You glance over at him, and just from the look in his eyes, you know heâs not helping you out. Itâs like his eyes are shining with awe just from being near Seungcheol and you wonder what your little brother sees in him.Â
He canât be that great, you stillâ well hateâs not the word, thatâs too strong, itâs more so you greatly dislike him for what he did a week ago. You still think it was shitty of him to not tell you anything about being late. And of course his cocky personality is really starting to get on your nerves, especially when he calls you princess, as if you two are that close. Youâve only spoken to him a handful of times and yet he calls you a petname as if youâve known each other for ages. It just makes your skin crawl.Â
âYou know each other?â Your brother asks, poking his head into the conversation as he looks between the two of you. Before you could say anything, Seungcheol butts in, âshe tutors me.âÂ
Your jaw drops as he smiles, as if he didnât just lie to your little brother. Itâs like every time he opens his mouth he finds a new way to piss you off. You dryly chuckle as you grab your brotherâs shoulder, trying to guide him away so you can leave. âI donât, now come on, I gotta start prepping dinner.âÂ
âBut itâs Saturday, we usually eat out today,â he says and you give him a tightlipped smile. âI just feel like cooking today so why donât we go home now.âÂ
At that, it seems like your brother finally puts the pieces together, and nods his head. Just as the two of you are about to leave the rink, Seungcheol calls out your name once again. Already knowing what heâs going to ask you shake your head. âIâll tell Ms. Park on Monday to find someone else to help you.âÂ
And with that, youâre gone and Seungcheolâs on his own again, wondering how the hell heâs supposed to get his chemistry grade up without your help.Â
âDo you hate Scoups hyung?â Your brother asks once you pull out of the parking lot, your car currently playing Iâll Make a Man Out of You as you let out a confused sound. âScoups? Is that what you guys call him,â you chuckle, finding the nickname a little silly.Â
âHe said he doesnât like people calling him his full name,â he explains with a shrug. âNow, do you hate him?âÂ
Wow, heâs really not letting this go.Â
You sigh as you look over to your right. Heâs looking at you expectantly, as if thereâs this great and terrible backstory to explain why you wanted to leave the rink as soon as the hockey player approached you. When you tell your brother what happened a few days ago between the two of you, he just rolls his eyes. Yes rolls his eyes, as if being forced to wait an hour for someone to show up isnât a good enough reason to dislike a person.Â
âHe apologized, whatâs the big deal?â He asks, and itâs moments like this when you're reminded your brother is just a boy. âItâs the fact he made me wait an hour with no heads up that Iâm still upset about.â Your brother looks over at you, a small smile on his face. âI think heâs a good guy, Iâm sure he had a reason why he was late. I donât think he meant to blow you off like that.âÂ
You blink, letting his words sink in for a moment before shaking your head, focusing back on the road. âLetâs stop talking about Choi and focus back on planning your essay that you have due on Monday.âÂ
He groans, throwing his head back onto the headrest, complaining about why his teacher needed them to write about an important person in their life. âIâm going to write about our dog,â he mutters once the two of you pull up into the parking lot of your apartment. You chuckle, locking the car as he holds open the elevator for you. âWe donât even have a dog.âÂ
âMs. Kang doesnât know that.â He shrugs and sometimes you wonder how your brotherâs made it this far. âWhatever you say Frosty, but that essay better be done by tomorrow since mom wants us to go out to eat for dinner.â
âHey Frostyâs a pretty good name for a dog, you think I could use it for a husky?âÂ
âYou know what, go crazy dude.âÂ
The last thing you expect when you were walking to the parking lot, heading over to the middle school to go pick up your brother, was to be pinned against a wall in the science building, much less to see Choi Seungcheol, on his knees, begging for you to not talk to Ms. Park.Â
You could only blink, wondering what the hell has gotten into him. Did he hit his head too hard from a fall on the ice or something? Feeling a little embarrassed, you try getting him back on his feet before anyone walks down the hall. Thankfully he gets up, but unfortunately he keeps you pinned to the wall, towering over you.Â
âChoi, what the fuckâs gotten into you,â you mutter, trying to push him slightly away from you, putting some breathing space between the two of you.Â
âPlease donât talk to Ms. Park to find a replacement tutor.â He quietly says and you could feel your jaw drop. No fucking way heâs still on this. You put your hands on his shoulders, effectively getting him to look at you. âYou canât be serious.âÂ
He groans as he closes his eyes, as if he was thinking of what the best thing to say is. One of your eyebrows raise as you wait to see what he says, and what looks like great reluctance from him, he finally confesses his woes.
âThereâs a big tournament coming up in a month and if I wanna play, I need to get my chem grade up.âÂ
You stare at him for a few seconds. Thatâs it? Why would this concern you? Feeling a little nice, you donât voice out your thoughts and instead ask, âso what does that have to do with me? You can just find another tutor.âÂ
He shakes his head and you tilt your head to the side, now intrigued on what he could possibly say.Â
âYouâre the only person who actually makes chemistry make sense so if I want a chance to pass this class,â he looks up and your breath hitches when you look into his eyes. You never noticed how pretty his eyes are, or how fucking long his eyelashes are. Shaking those thoughts away, you notice what looks like hope in his eyes, and you realize he really thinks youâll help him. âI need your help.âÂ
You blink, trying to weigh your options. While you still hold a grudge against him for the first tutoring session, this tournamentâs important to him. The two of you are seniors, and depending on his plans for after graduation, this may be the last time he gets to play the sport. Then of course, you canât stop thinking about what your brother said the other day, and unfortunately for you, you trust your brotherâs judgment. And if Seungcheolâs ineligible to play, you really donât want that to affect your brotherâs team. Heâs grown to love the sport in the weeks heâs played and you really donât want him to lose his growing passion.Â
You sigh, closing your eyes as you lean your head back against the wall. âFine, I wonât talk to her.â He smiles and before he could thank you, you cut him off. âBut just know Iâm doing this for my brother, he really seems to like you and I donât want you failing to affect your coaching.âÂ
âIâll take it as long as youâre agreeing to keep tutoring me,â he smiles and youâre stunned into silence for a few seconds when you see dimples dot his cheeks. You shake out of it and wiggle out of his grasp. âYeah, just make sure youâre not late without a heads up, Choi.âÂ
The next few weeks are filled with Choi Seungcheol, and youâre not sure how you feel about that statement just yet. In the beginning, you were still a bit reluctant, still fearing heâd be late with no excuse, but at your first tutoring session, he had arrived at the library before you. You were walking to some of the tables at the back of the library when you heard someone call your name, only to see it was Seungcheol, who had reserved a study room for the two of you and already had all of his notes out.Â
You felt a little bad even though you arrived on time. You had to drop your brother at home so you couldnât meet right after school, but you did your best to get there as soon as possible.Â
He was very attentive while you explained everything to him and you wondered how he was failing chemistry in the first place when it seemed like he knew all the topics. It was when the two of you got to the practice problems did you see where the problems were coming from.Â
Your teacher, Ms. Park, has the tendency to make half of your homework situational problems, where you had to apply the basic knowledge that, on its own, was quite simple, but once put in a non-laboratory setting became a lot more difficult if one didnât have a complete grasp on the concept. And thatâs what you suspect is happening to Seungcheol, and the reason he was failing the class. Good thing you caught on in the beginning of these sessions and you could plan accordingly.Â
It was another tutoring session when your phone started ringing, you grabbed your phone, confused on who was calling you when you excused yourself, leaving him to work on a problem on his own while you stepped out into the study room next door to take the call.Â
Your eyes widen when you hear your little brotherâs quiet voice on the other end, hoarse as he asks if you could come back home. You tell him youâre on your way before hanging up the call, and rushing into the study room you were just in.Â
Seungcheol jumped at your sudden intrusion, but before he could complain about you scaring him, you started to throw your things into your bag, grabbing your keys. âIâm sorry but my little brotherâs sick so I gotta go take care of him.âÂ
You were halfway through the door when you turned to look at him, âIâll make it up to when heâs all better!â And just like that, you were out the door, apologizing to the little kid you almost bulldozed down in your rush to your car.Â
You make it back home in a new record, most definitely going past the speed limits as you skid into the parking spot in the parking garage, haphazardly raising your hand with your keys in hand in the air as you run towards the elevator, not double checking to see if you actually locked your car. If you didnât live on the fifth floor, youâd actually consider taking the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator, but alas, not even the haze of trying to get to your little brother was enough for you to suddenly have an increase in stamina.Â
Thankfully the elevator didnât take long and you were able to make it to your apartment, throwing open the door as you tossed your backpack down the hallway. You rush into the living room to see your little brother laying across the couch, buried under a pile of blankets. Heâs really out of it if he didnât even bother to look up at all the noise you made trying to get in. You sigh before heading to the bathroom, looking for a thermometer and to check if there was anything you could give him over the counter.Â
Tsking at the 100.4° on the small screen, you wiped a damp towel over his forehead, wondering how he got this bad in the span of the 45 minutes that you were gone. He didnât look too bad when you had picked him up from school, tired sure, but not knocking on deathâs door like he is now. You were about to give him the medicine you found when there was a knock at the door. Not knowing who it could be, you quickly gave your brother the medicine and headed to the door.Â
You check through the peephole and take a step back, your jaw slacking as you realize whoâs on the other side of your door.Â
Choi Seungcheol.Â
How the fuck did he figure out where you live? You donât remember telling him and last time you checked, your address wasnât public knowledge. Shaking off the initial shock, you open the door, now curious as to why heâs here. Before he could explain his sudden visit, you beat him to the punch. âHow the hell do you know where I live?âÂ
He pointed to the floor above you. âJeonghan told me, plus it was listed on the emergency contacts your brother filled out.â You blinked at him, wondering why your upstairs neighbor would rat you out like that, or how he knew your exact unit number. Whatever, whatâs done is done. You point at the convenience store bag in his hand, asking about what he has.Â
He brings his free hand to scratch the back on his neck, a nervous chuckle leaving his lips, avoiding eye contact. âI- uh got kinda worried and wanted to check up on you guys.â He brings the bag up, âI donât know what heâs sick with so I just got the generic stuff and I brought snacks.âÂ
You stare at him for a few moments before chuckling, thanking him as you take the bag from him and gesture for him to follow you into the apartment. He hesitates for a second before you nod at him, assuring him that itâs okay. He slips his shoes off and sets them down next to yours, following you into the apartment.Â
Your little brother looks a little better, actually looking up when the two of you walk into the living room (itâs only a few steps past the little entryway). He looks at the two of you for a second before laying back down. He shoots back up, as if wondering if Seungcheol is actually in your guysâ apartment.Â
âReal or am I hallucinating?âÂ
You laugh as you adjust the towel over his forehead, âas crazy as it looks, heâs real. Now you should lie back down while I make you a porridge to eat.â He nods his head, laying back down as he adjusts the towel to sit over his eyes. You expected Seungcheol to stay in the living room with your brother, you didnât expect him to follow you into the kitchen, asking if he could help you. Getting over the initial shock, something that keeps happening whenever youâre around him apparently, and start telling him to grab everything that you need.Â
It was funny to see him panic everytime you left him on his own to check on your brother, his eyes wide as his head kept snapping from the stove to you. Who knew the tough hockey captain could get so nervous by being left alone in the kitchen?Â
Thankfully it didnât take long for the porridge to be made, and once you confirmed that your brother was able to keep his food down, you went back into the kitchen. âHow do you like your ramen Choi?âÂ
You turn to see him pouting and for some reason you feel the urge to poke his cheeks. Weird.Â
âWhy do you keep calling me Choi?â He complains, leaning against the counter as he watches you take out another pot and two packages of your favorite ramen brand. You look over your shoulder, closing the cabinet before standing back up. âWould you prefer me calling you by your full name?â You tease, smiling as you see his cheeks turn the softest shade of pink. He stumbles over his words before you hear him mutter a quiet no, and you just laugh.Â
âI just donât get why you call me by my last name instead of what everyone else calls me,â he says, handing you an egg when you ask for one. You shrug, âit started when you blew me off the first tutoring session and it kinda stuck.âÂ
âWhat do I have to do for you to call me something other than my last name,â he begs, and you laugh at how serious this is for him. You didnât think his name would be this sore spot for him, but it is amusing to see him so stressed over something so small. You look over at him while the waterâs boiling, biting your lip as you pretend to think it over. âGet over a 90 on our next chem test and I might consider it.âÂ
His jaw drops as he stands there frozen for a few seconds before groaning. âA 90? Listen, you're a great tutor but our next test is in literally three days and the best Iâm getting is probably a mid 70.âÂ
âThen Choi it is,â you reply, grabbing two bowls. At least he believes he can pass this next test, thatâs some progress. Before he can start complaining, you both freeze when you hear your little brother yell out, âcan you two stop flirting and get me another bowl of porridge,â and before you can yell at him for even saying that he throws in a little âpleaseâ at the end. Wow, how polite of him.Â
âWeâre not flirting!â You say, walking into the living room to take his bowl, and as much as you want to tackle him to the ground for even suggesting youâre flirting with the hockey player, you decide to take pity on him, this time. Heâs lucky his body failed him today.Â
Once your sickly brother is content with his second bowl of porridge, you take your and Seuncheolâs bowls to your small dining table. He follows and you go back for utensils, asking what heâd like to drink. Once everything is set on the table, the two of you start eating in a comfortable silence, the show your brother was watching filling the otherwise silent apartment. Your eyes fall to his backpack that was by the door and you swallow whatâs in your mouth before motioning to his bag.Â
âWanna continue with where we left off? I really think if we can get past this topic you can definitely score somewhere in the 80s.â His eyes follow at what youâre pointing at, and he nods, finishing his bowl before getting up to grab his backpack, and even getting your backpack that you had thrown earlier.Â
The two of you pick up where you left off, occasionally taking breaks when your little brother claims he needs your assistance with what he calls âsurvivingâ when in all actuality it was just him wanting another refill of his water.Â
It was nearing 8 oâclock when the two of you were done for the day. As he was gathering his things, your brother got enough strength to get off the couch, heading to his room before waving bye to Seungcheol, telling him heâd definitely be good to go to practice on Saturday. The hockey player laughs as he leans over the table to fist bump him, telling him he better keep his word. You smile at the exchange, happy to see your brother doing better.Â
âCome on, Iâll see you down,â you say when heâs gotten all his things. Before he can argue with you about it being unnecessary, you wave him off, saying how itâs the least you could do after he came all the way over to check up on the two of you.
The two of you are in the elevator when he finally speaks again.Â
âIs it usually the two of you this late into the evening?â He asks, his eyes hesitantly flitting from your face to the wall next to your head. You hum, leaning against the railing with your eyes closed, âour mom works late at the hospital andâŠâ You trail off, opening your eyes to see Seungcheol watching you, something in his eyes that makes you look away, the floor suddenly a lot more interesting to look at. Why does he look at you with so much care?Â
âOur dad left when my brother was a couple of months old so it's just been us three,â you say, not quite believing you're actually telling him this about yourself. Hell, you donât even know if he has siblings and yet youâre out here telling him your family life. Crazy what some dimples and pretty brown eyes can do to a girl.Â
âOh.âÂ
Ah, probably shouldâve lied about your absent father. Something about him working late shouldâve been excuse enough. Well, too late for that you internally groan at. Before you can apologize for making things awkward, he interrupts you.Â
âCan we move our tutoring sessions to your place?â
Your jaw drops for a few seconds before you snap out of it, blinking to try to get your brain caught up to speed. âWhy?âÂ
He sighs, turning away to face the elevator doors and youâve never been more thankful for someone to stop looking at you. âI kinda hate the idea of your little brother waiting at home by himself while youâre tutoring me.âÂ
âHeâs twelve, but as long as you donât mind coming over here,â you say, glancing over at him, âthen okay, we can move to our apartment.â He smiles and you feel this weird pang in your chest. The last time you felt this excited over a person was when you were getting ready for your date with Changkyun the other day. Does that mean youâre starting to actually enjoy Seungcheolâs company?Â
Bound to happen considering you spend your Monday and Wednesday afternoons with the guy. Itâs just, it feels different than what you felt with Changkyun and part of you just wants to bury that thought away and focus on anything else. Thankfully the elevator ride didnât last too long and you walked Seungcheol to his car, your chest feeling a little bit tighter as you watched him drive away.Â
Itâs Saturday and youâre back at the rink to pick up your brother from practice. Heâd gotten better and while you were hesitant to drop him off at practice, he insisted that he was all good to practice. You let him go, but not without texting Seungcheol before heading over to practice, asking him to keep an eye on your brother. This was the first time you texted him about something other than about your tutoring sessions and while your hands were shaking just thinking about talking to him about something other than chemistry, thankfully he agreed to keep an eye on your brother.Â
You grab a jacket from the backseat, not wanting to freeze while you wait for your brother. He always manages to be the last one out of the rink, always talking to Seungcheol while everyone else skates towards the door to change out of their skates and into their shoes.Â
And just like the past couple of weeks, your brother was still out on the ice, except instead of the two standing to the side talking about their practice, the two were skating over across the ice, the small black puck gliding between the two of them as they pass the puck amongst themselves. If you squint, you can see what you assumed is Seungcheol giving your brother tips because soon he nods and adjusts his hold on his stick.Â
Then, catching the two of you off guard, he steals the puck from the hockey player, successfully scoring a goal on the unguarded net. Your mouth falls open before cheering for your brother. Sure it wasn't a game changing play, but you were still proud of him. Upon hearing your cheering, your brother skates to the wall where youâre standing, the short wall and the plexiglass the only thing separating the two of you.Â
âDid you see that! I totally got him good!â He excitedly told you and you smiled. âSure did dude, next time I think you should go for his knees, then youâd have no one stopping you,â you joke, smiling as your little brother laughs, complaining how thatâs ânot very good sportsmanshipâ but winks at you when Seungcheol skates over to the two of you, wiping off some of the ice shavings off his pants.Â
âI canât believe youâre telling your brother to kill me, princess,â he pouts and you roll your eyes, glad itâs so cold in the rink you canât tell if your face is burning from the petname or from the freezing temperatures. You roll your eyes, pulling the collar of your jacket higher in an effort to cover your face. âIsnât that part of the sport Choi, pushing and shoving each other?âÂ
He shrugs, a smile on his face. âGlad to see you know something about the sport, I see Frosty over has been teaching you.â Your brother groans when he hears his coach use the nickname you gave him once he started hockey. It started off as a small joke that somehow morphed to having the whole team only ever calling him Frosty. Hey, at least heâs already got a marketable name, you told him one day when you were driving back home after practice a few weeks ago. Â
You shrug, tugging your jacket tighter. In all actuality your brother hadnât explained the sport all that much besides the occasional âyou donât do thatâ or âthatâs a good thingâ or other vague explanations when you ask him questions. Instead, after a tutoring session with Seungcheol, and as a way to procrastinate an essay you had to work on, you decided to look into the sport. It wasnât much, just a quick google search about the rules that had you clicking off the site after a few paragraphs and instead watching a couple of matches on youtube. You had half the mind to ask Seungcheol but decided against it. You were just supposed to be tutoring him in chemistry and you thought learning more about the sport he put years in was a little much for you. (And the thought of him in his full uniform was starting to make your heart ache just a little much.)Â
âMight as well since I come here once a week,â you say, and Seungcheol smiles, and you wish he didnât have such a cute smile. His gummy smile is going to be the death of you, you think as you look over to see if your brotherâs got his shoes on.Â
You donât know when you started to see Seungcheol in a different light. Probably around the time your brother got sick since that was the first time you got to see him not in a school setting. Or to be more exact, the moment he asked if your tutoring sessions could be moved to your apartment so you could watch over your brother. Whenever it was, you wished it didnât happen.Â
After the results of the chemistry test the two of you have a week, your tutoring sessions would be over since by then youâd know whether or not heâd be good to compete in the tournament. While a part of you was sad to think about not being with him every Monday and Wednesday with him, youâre at least happy about the fact his gradeâs would be doing better. And sure, at first you were helping him out reluctantly, but after spending so much time with him, you realized he was nothing like you originally thought he was like.Â
Your first meeting really was just a fluke, and he was just a nice guy. You actually had asked him after a few sessions why he was so late to the first tutoring session and you can remember the cute blush that grew on his face as he explained how he was planning the youth hockey teamâs practice and lost track of the time. He looked so cute, his cheeks a rosy pink and a small pout on his lips, and thatâs when you thought, yeah, heâs not that bad of a guy.Â
âOkay, Iâm good to go,â your brother says, and you blink, snapping out of your thoughts. You nod, extending your hand to help him carry some of his gear. Noticing your empty motions, Seungcheol takes a step towards you but you shake your head. âIâll see you on Monday Choi.âÂ
âYeah⊠see you later, princess.âÂ
Youâre really, truly fucked, you come to realize as you stare at your phone. Why, just why did you have to send that text?Â
Your friend, who was under the impression you still hated Seungcheol for blowing you off the first tutoring session, asked if there was a way you could set her up with him for a date. And you, still not wanting to admit the fact that youâve definitely started catching feelings for the captain, agreed to set the two up. And trying to convince yourself that the warm feeling you get in your chest from just seeing him smile meant nothing, you sent a text wondering if he was down to meet with your friend over the weekend.Â
And now youâre waiting for a response, hoping that he wonât agree to the date. Hell, youâre on your knees hoping that even if he does say yes, that it goes horrible so they donât keep meeting. Terrible, yes, but your heart canât handle the idea of someone who isnât you by his side. And yet you still wonât admit that you have a crush on him. (Denial is one hell of a drug.)Â
When you hear your phone go off from a notification, you push yourself off the floor, where youâve made home the past couple of minutes. With a shaky hand, you flip your phone over, clicking on the notification.Â
Choi đ: tell her sorry, Iâm not interested in dating right now đ«€
Oh.Â
Heâs not interested in dating right now? For some reason that hurts more than if he said he is interested in the date. With a shaky inhale you text him back, letting him know youâll let her know and you toss your phone away, burying your face against your knees.Â
Okay so maybe you do have a crush on Seungcheol, big fucking hurray.Â
Youâre walking back to your car when you hear someone calling out your name. You recognize the voice and freeze, wondering what Seungcheol wants with you and wishing heâd just leave you alone. Despite him doing nothing wrong, you really donât want to see him right now, especially since you were going to use the drive back home to prepare yourself for your tutoring session with him.Â
He runs up to you, a smile on his face as he blocks you from opening the driverâs side. You cross your arms over your chest, raising an eyebrow as you look at him. âWhatâs up Choi?âÂ
âI came by to tell you that I canât make it to todayâs session.â He explains and you notice how his cheeks are tinted pink. Just how far was he running from? You give him a look as you lean against your car. âSo why didnât you just text me then?âÂ
âI wanted to see you.âÂ
Your eyes widen as you turn to face him fully. You feel your face burn as you try unsuccessfully to say something in return. He smiles and you want nothing more than to wipe his adorable smile off his face. The fact he doesnât even know the emotional turmoil heâs putting you through is insane and you wish he didnât have this much power over you. You try coughing, covering your face as you look away from him. âYeah, whatever, is that all you have to say?âÂ
He nods and he shoves his hands into the pockets of his sweats and still with that frustratingly cute smile, his stupid dimples on full display, âIâm still good for Wednesday though, I want to celebrate our last session before the test Friday.â You nod, a tight lipped smile on display as you wave him goodbye.Â
Once in the comfort of your car, you groan, dropping your head on the steering wheel, wishing you werenât so crushed over this. Things come up all the time, itâs not a big deal he canât make it today. If anything you can just use this time to get your homework done for the week so you donât have to worry about it later. Maybe instead of groveling over a guy you could actually be productive for once.Â
Wednesday rolls around and you donât think youâve given yourself a chance to think about Seungcheol. How could you when youâve been busy doing your homework, planning what youâd cover in todayâs session, helping your brother with his homework, doing all the chores around the apartment, and if you werenât busy with all that you had your headphones on, not even giving yourself the chance to think. Who needs to think when youâve been so busy?Â
You pull out of the parking lot of the middle school, your little brother grabbing your phone to change the song that was playing. Sticking to a song that you hoped wouldnât show up on your spotify wrapped, you keep driving, your thoughts starting to drift off to Seungcheol. Catching yourself, you will yourself to listen to the song your brother chose, and you wonder which was worse for your mental health.Â
Once in the comfort of your apartment, your little brother heads off to his room claiming how he doesnât want to watch his older sister flirt with his hockey coach while he does his homework. At first youâd argue that you werenât but as of late you knew there was no saving yourself and didnât even try to fight back anymore, only groaning as you started to set the table.Â
A few minutes later you hear someone at the door and you take a deep breath, preparing yourself to get through your last session and as a way to prepare your heart for the inevitable. Seungcheol smiles as he steps inside, slipping off his shoes as he places them next to yours. You turn around and your eyes widen as your face heats up as you take in his appearance. He was just wearing a pair of sweats and a black shirt and yet you could feel your heartbeat race at the sight. You quickly turn around, pretending to adjust your notebook as you try to calm your beating heart. Heâs worn that outfit combo tons of times and yet now your heart decides to give you trouble.Â
If he notices your internal struggle, he doesnât say anything. He takes his seat at the table, taking out his things as you finally look at him to start. Hopefully your heart can take the next few hours, if not, thankfully your momâs a registered nurse.Â
âHey princess,â he starts and you, against your better judgment, smile at the petname, âcan I ask you something.â You put your pencil down, turning to face him as he put his pencil down, the problem you had given him to work on an afterthought. âSure, go ahead.âÂ
âIf I ace this test will you come watch me play in my tournament?â He asks, his eyes sparkling with hope and you find yourself leaning against your hand to cover your mouth so he canât see the dopey smile on your face. âWhen you say ace, how high of a score are we talking here,â you tease. You donât know where this sudden confidence came from but if it helps you from burning away in your seat, youâll take it.Â
He smirks, leaning close to you and your breath hitches, freezing in your seat. âI say at least a mid 90.â You chuckle, leaning in close as you internally scream at yourself to back the fuck away from him. âSure, you got yourself a deal, but Iâm expecting the best from you Choi.â You say, beginning to turn away so he canât see the dopey smile on your face.
âOf course, can't disappoint my princess, can I?â His pointer finger and thumb gently hold your chin, making you look at him and his stupid smug face that you so desperately want to kiss.Â
Oh yeah, your heartâs definitely going to explode.Â
You think you mutter something along the lines of âin your dreams Choiâ but at this point youâre not even sure you can still rangle up enough brain cells to formulate a coherent thought. Heat floods your cheeks as he still holds your face and you swear you see his eyes fall to your lips, or at least you think they do. Youâre too busy staring at his lips to really be too sure.Â
Somehow your one brain cell manages to scramble enough thoughts to control your body, except it makes you lean in closer to him, close enough you can feel his breath hover over your lips. Your eyes flutter shut and just when you think everything is going great you hear your little brother yell your name from his room and thatâs enough to snap the two of you out of the daze youâre in. You clear your throat, excusing yourself as you push out your chair and head to your brotherâs room, wondering what the hell he needs that he just needs you right now.
âWhat do you want?â You hiss out, leaning against the doorframe of his room. He looks up from his desk, papers scattered across the wooden surface as he turns his swivel chair to face you. He shrugs, âI felt this weird disturbance in the force and called you over here.âÂ
It takes everything in you to not throw him across his room. You sigh, âyeah that disturbance was born twelve years ago.âÂ
âHey!â He throws a pokemon plushie, piplup if you remember correctly, at you. You duck and the plushie hits your bedroom door behind you. You turn around to pick it up, only to immediately throw it back at him, and successfully manage to hit him in the head with it. He stumbles back in his chair and you laugh at him. He glares at you for a moment before breaking out into laughter as well. âOkay fine good aim, Iâll give it to you,â he acknowledges with a surrender of his hands, the plushie back on his shelves, joining the rest of his collection. âNow go back to tutoring Scoups hyung so you can make dinner.âÂ
You shake your head, a small smile on your face. âYou can always make dinner, you should probably start now since Iâll be going off to coll-âÂ
âDonât say the c word!â He interrupts, a new pokemon plushie in hand. His eyes are wide and your smile softens before itâs turning into a small pout. The past year youâve been trying to teach your brother how to take care of things around the apartment since soon itâll just be him waiting for your mom to come home, but each time he always changes the subject, or even resorting to throwing his plushies to stop the conversation. In that moment you donât see your twelve year old brother who loves to get on your nerves, instead you see your baby brother who never left your side for anything. Your other half despite the six year difference between the two of you.
Before you know it, your throat tightens up as you watch him lower the plushie, turned away so heâs not looking at you. âUm⊠you should probably go back to Scoups hyung.â His voice is small, like if speaks any louder and he might start crying. Â
You nod, slowly backing out of his room, âyeah, just let me know if you need anything.â You turn to walk out when you turn back to face him, âIâll make your favorite for dinner tonight.â His head perks up and you smile at him, to which he returns.Â
You make it back to the living room to see Seungcheol working on the problems you had left him. You let out a small chuckle, and he looks up, smiling when he notices your back. âEverything okay?âÂ
You nod, âheâs fine, he was just a little bored.â He smiles and the two of you get back to your homework. Soon enough, the two of you finish, even with the practice you gave him to really prepare him for your upcoming test, and you relax in your seat, a smile on your face. Seungcheol faces you, his smile growing as he looks from his papers to you. âThank you, I donât think I couldâve done this without you.âÂ
You wave his compliment off, your smile perpetually stuck on your face when you're around him. âNope, itâs all you Choi, Iâm simply here to help you. Now youâve gotta ace this test so I can go watch you win this tournament.â He smiles and you donât think youâd ever find dimples this cute on another person in your life.Â
âAnything for you, princess.âÂ
Youâre walking out of your last period class when you hear Seungcheol call your name out. You turn around, already smiling since you know what this is going to be about, and judging by his voice, itâs going to be good news.Â
He runs up to you, stapled papers in hand and you just know itâs his chemistry test. He makes it infront of you, his hands coming up to hold your shoulders in an effort to stabilize himself, his test pressing against your shoulder. âI got my results back!âÂ
You laugh, your hands coming up to rest over his, smiling and feeling heat begin to creep up your face at the close proximity. âI can tell, but come on Iâm dying to know what you got Choi.â A light blush grows on his face as his smile grows, his hands moving away from your shoulders as he straightens up his test since it had gotten crumpled during everything.Â
Once it was straightened out, he flipped it over, handing the test to you. You take the test and your eyes widen when you see the large 100 written next to his name. You look up to see him smiling and in your excitement, you pull him into a hug. âOh my god! I knew you could do it, this is amazing!â He tightens his hold on you, picking you off the ground to spin you in a hug. Youâre laughing as he gently sets you down, youâre smiling so much your cheeks are starting to hurt but you donât even care right now. Youâre just so happy for Seungcheol, happy that this means he gets to play in his tournament.Â
He pulls you into another hug, muttering into your hair, âthank you, I wouldnât have been able to do this without you.â You pull him closer, âof course Cheol.âÂ
The day of the tournament arrived and you donât know why youâre so nervous. Seungcheol and the team have been doing great all day, moving farther and farther up the rackets, and yet youâre still nervous. It probably has to deal with the fact neither of you really discussed what happened last week, the whole really intimate hug in the middle of the hallway and all that. You two actually were texting back and forth the past week, and yet neither of you dared to talk about the hallway incident.Â
Just like how neither one of you spoke about the almost kiss back in your apartment.Â
So your nerves are most definitely tied to whatever you got going on with the captain of the hockey, the very same captain whoâs leading his team to victory. This is the first time youâre seeing Seungcheol in his full uniform and damn, he looks good in his uniform. Something about how it makes him look larger just makes your heart beat faster every time he skates by where youâre sitting.Â
The first time he skated by, you watched as he did a double-take before smiling his gummy smile, dimples on full display and waving at you and your brother, who insisted on coming along. (You werenât going to tell him no, of course youâre going to bring him along.) Occasionally, heâd shoot you a look, smiling at you and youâd wave at him, feeling your face burn up every time.Â
Itâs the final match of the day, and you donât think youâve screamed this much in your life. You always make sure to cheer for Seungcheol every time he makes a goal, and halfway through the day, it turns into a competition between you and your brother on who could cheer the loudest for him. And youâre not about to lose against your brother.Â
Somehow the match had gone into overtime due to the teams being tied and youâre at the edge of your seat, your little brother in the same position. At some point he grabbed your gloved hand, squeezing tight as they entered the sudden death overtime. (Why the hell is it called that?) You squeeze his hand as you watch Seungcheol go head to head against someone on the other team and you hold your breath watching as the two try to steal the puck from the other.Â
Just when it looks like the other guyâs about to steal the puck, Seungcheol finds an opening, sending the puck into the unguarded goal, making the winning shot.Â
You and your brother shoot up in your seats, and you pull him into a hug as you both jump in excitement and happiness. Seungcheol gets affectionately tackled by his teammates as they swarm him, and you can hear them chanting their captainâs name as the announcer relays the winning team. You look over once youâve calmed down a bit and somehow manage to make eye contact with him. You smile and you mouth âIâm so proud of you," hoping heâd be able to understand you.Â
It seems like he does because soon enough it looks like he mouths something along the lines of, âall for you, princess.âÂ
The tournamentâs over now and youâre waiting for your little brother to finish in the restroom before you two head back home. A part of you wishes youâd get to see Seungcheol before leaving but heâs probably busy with after game things and celebrating that youâll just settle with talking to him some other time.Â
Youâre about to text your brother to ask him where heâs at when you feel someone come up from behind you, spinning you around. You shriek, holding your phone close to your chest, about to curse out whoever it was when you hear the person laughing and you immediately soften, knowing exactly who it is.Â
He sets you back down, turning you to face him. You smile and before you can even open your mouth to congratulate him on winning his senior tournament, he cups your face, leaning in to kiss you. Your eyes widen at the contact before they flutter shut, your own hands coming up to rest over his. His hands are freezing but you donât mind, not when your face is burning up enough youâre sure you could warm up his hands in minutes. Your hands drift from his to rest over his shoulders, pulling him closer as you lean slightly back, with him following. He pulls away from the kiss to catch his breath, causing you to chase after his lips, already missing the pillowy feeling of them on your own. He chuckles before dipping down to kiss you again when someone clears their throat.Â
You groan, already knowing who it is, dreading whatever comment he has to say. You look over your shoulder, only to see your little brother smiling. You definitely expected him to be pulling some disgusted face to make fun of you. Instead he was smiling, smiling so big you would think he just won a yearâs supply of his favorite food.Â
âIf youâre done making out with your boyfriend, do you wanna ask him if he wants to join us for dinner?âÂ
Seungcheol's hand slips into your own, squeezing your gloved hand as you look up at him. His smile is so big and his cheeks are a pretty pink blush. âI really like the sound of that, what do you think princess?âÂ
You like that a lot, you think, squeezing his hand as you drag him to follow you and your brother, laughing when you hear his teammates cheering for their captain, for finally getting his girl.Â
Maybe tutoring the captain wasnât so bad after all.

can you share some of your Luke recs?
Of course! I may have gone a bit overboard but I just love love love all these fics and their authors so so much. I highly recommend all these writers and their blogs, from the nsfw to the sfw, I couldn't stress how highly I respect and recommend them enough:
âĄáŽáŽÉą's ÊáŽáŽáŽ ÊáŽÉąÊáŽs ÒÉȘᎠÊáŽáŽs
âSMUT
â„ again by @hhughes (you can find her on @bedsyandco now I think) â„ I frequently find myself going back to this one, the way Cami has written it is just so addicting and it's so hot.
â„ the mortifying ordeal of being a 20 year old virgin by @theemporium â„ This series is hard as hell, literally love it. Each chapter is just divine and I love Luke and reader's dynamic, it's so juicy and with every new chapter, I think I literally heel click and do a jig.
â„ escape from la by @eyesthatroll â„ Another one I go back to often, still think about it to this day actually, I just picture it vividly and it gives me butterflies every time.
â„ locker room by @lucijawriteswords â„ Words cannot describe how much of a chokehold this one has on me. Angry Luke is so hot and I can't stop thinking about the imagery and I want this so bad.
â„ those sleepless nights - @wineauntie â„ I present to you; my bedtime story. Sleepy smut is just so yummy, you know? And I just wanted Luke wrapped around me after I read this, I now go back to it when it's some silly hour of the morning.
â„ stress reduction by @goldfades â„ Bro I cannot begin to explain how many times I've read this one. Short and sweet and so sensual, I want it. You'll literally read it and feel something.
℠risqué reflections by @sweetestdesire ℠This is the place for filth and I'm a loyal customer. This fic had me doing deep breaths and GOD it's so yummy. Read it once and then went back because the buzz it gave me.
â„ the green eyed monster by @puck-luck â„ Jealousy has never looked hotter on a man. I remember reading this one morning before uni and yeah let's say I wasn't thinking about my class that day. Andy went all in with this and Jesus it was hot as fuck.
âFLUFF
â„ he's been a bit of a jerk by @rowdyluv â„ I've never liked the winter more, I need Luke to come find my lonely ass and kiss me too. This was too cute honestly and the second part is just as good. Recommend reading them back-to-back.
â„ too tall by @toasttt11 â„ Anything to do with height differences has me in shambles and this was so cute. I just love the image of Luke standing in the kitchen at 12am like a deer in headlights.
â„ uh oh by @be4chywritez â„ The Curtis-Luke rivalry will always make me giggle and even funnier with the sneaking around trope, I adored this and the locker room scene. The whole thing is so cute and lighthearted.
â„ jelly on a plate by @wineauntie â„ I dislike the process of flying so this was a really comforting read and I love it so much. It's adorable and reassuring at the same time and if you're not a fan of flying, I really recommend having Luke with you in spirit.
â„ my princess by @lvrhughes â„ No because this one's fun and fresh and adorable. Something about drunken nights will always get me, especially when it's one looking after the other. Filled my heart with warmth.
â„ caught by @ifimdreaming â„ Love this one a lot, it's funny and cute. It perfectly portrays siblings having an argument and Trevor making an appearance will always be funny. Luke is just too cute and love me protective Luke.
â„ kiss her you fool by @withwritersblock â„ Tooth rotting fluff, friends to lovers and just pining and that's my cup of tea. Loverboy Luke has you aching for him to be honest and you'll wish you were y/n and so much touching that has you tingling.
â„ "are you awake yet?" blurb by @bedsyandco @hhughes â„ I wish I had this in my life, honestly. Read this and you wish you did too. It's so sweet it makes me kick my feet and twirl my hair, run laps around my room, go through my Luke Pinterest board. I love the way Cami writes Luke.

"I think you're drooling a little y/n" I heard and it made my look away from the ice.
"I do not know what you're talking about Nick" I mumbled and started to tie my skates.
Nick only rolled his eyes on me and sat down next to me already changed from his uniform. Nick was my best friend and he and his two triplets brothers were playing in the hockey team. Chris and Matt also were my friends but I met Nick first back in the elementary school. We kinda all sticked together and were in the same friends group ever since.
I was figure skating and my practice was right after theirs on the school ice ring. I always came early to change and look at them practice. Or well...look at Matt.
At the beginning of high school I developed a huge crush on him that apparently everyone and their mothers though is was so obvious. Not to Matt tho. He never did anything towards me to show he likes me more than a friend. I would never have balls to do it first especially if it had possibility of ruining our friendship.
"Please....when are you going to tell him? It's almost prom time... are you going to suffer again because he will be asked to go by someone else? And it is our last prom..."Nick said looking down at me.
I sighed and finished my skated and stood up from the bench. The stupid rule we had in this school was that girls were supposed to ask boys to prom.
"Nick... I had a very shitty day and I do not wish to speak about this now. I am going to warm up. Bye hope you guys had a good practice. I will see you later" I said and took my sweater of and put my AirPods in.
I skated away from him and started to warm up in the corner. I did runaway from this conversation because it was not on my list today. I had a very stressful day and it was about to get better because I could get lost in music and ice.
I was glad Chris did not came to great me because he probably would make his comments and made me nervous for Matt to hear them.
I looked at him wondering why he is still on ice. He looked mad and he was hitting puck after puck to the empty net.
There was no one else here now. Nick left and the other people too. I had my practice by myself today because my coach was sick.
"Hi..." I said skating closer to him and turning down my music.
"Oh...y/n hi. I am sorry I'm still here. I was going to ask you if it's fine for me to take one corner? I had a shitty practice and I wanna work on it" He said looking at me.
He was a good player. Furious but good. So I do not know where is this coming from.
" Sure...I do nit mind. Everything okay?"I asked looking at his blue eyes. Eyes that I could think about for hours.
"I just had a very shitty day and thats all" He said.
"Tell me about it...."I laughed because we usually had a very similar mood.
"Mondays, huh?" He smiled at me and I nodded.
I smiled and took one of AirPods out and offered to him.
"Wanna listen to my happy playlist?" I smiled and he took it and took his helmet off to put it in and put his helmet back on.
"Of course you have a happy playlist..."He shook his head at me and I smiled and pressed play.
We just started to do our things and just took little glances at each-other when the songs we both well knew started to play. And let me tell you. My happy playlist was a very dirty rap and trap playlist so seeing Matt laugh at that made my evening.
"You're impossible kid, you know?" He said skating to me while I just landed from my jump.
"I do not know what you're talking about" I smiled and fixed my dress.
"Here... I need to go but that was nice... thanks for sharing" He said and gave me back my AirPod.
"Hope it made you feel a little better" I said taking it back and he just smiled and fixed his hair. It made butterflies in my stomach go wild.
"Bye y/n.... the new dress looks great on you... I love how you're all white while I'm all black" He said just before getting out of the ring and walked to the lockers.
What the fuck.
He loved that we matched? Or whatever that was. I need to seat down.
I couldn't think straight anymore so I finished my practice and went to seat down. Just as I sat down I got massage from Chris.
And they were not meant for me.
Oh my god.
That means⊠He liked me back? And he knew all this time?
I felt like having panic attack when I grabbed my bag and rushed out of the ring.
In the moment of when I wanted to push the doors there opened and my eyes met his.
ây/nâŠ. Iâ he started when our eyes locked.
"I thought you left..." I said. I did not know what to do with myself. I was nervous and relived and exited and felt like passing out in the same time.
My heart felt like it would jump out of my chest any minute.
"I was in the car...but then..this stupid motherfucker...I swear..."Matt said and I laughed nervously.
"You knew? You knew this all time that I liked you more than a friend?" I asked looking at him nervously hugging my bag.
"I honestly I did not....I overheard your conversation with Nick...and than I told him how I feel. Chris might be stupid but he was right....I was a coward for not telling you... but it so.. o.."
"Overwhelming and scary? I know..." I interrupted him.
"But I do....I do like you back... more than a friend. You have been nothing but my escape since the begging of the year and I cannot keep this to myself. Not anymore" He said.
All I wanted do now was just to finally kiss him. I do not know where I found the courage to do so but the moment I let go of my bag I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Perhaps we should thank Chris..."I quietly said before I closed the space between us with a sweet kiss.
He was surprised with my actions but he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me even closer.
"You do not know for how long I wanted to do that..."He whispered when we moved away.
"I actually do...." I said and smiled and brushed some hair away from his forehead.
"Let me walk you to your car?" He looked at me.
I nodded and he took my bag. When we got to my car he stole one more kiss from my lips.
"So...would you like to go out with me?"He asked.
"As..."
"As my girlfriend?" He finished my sentence and I couldn't believe this was real.
"Only if you go to prom with me as my boyfriend?" I asked nervously biting the inside of my cheek.
"Of course I will..." He smiled and I swear he blushed a little.
"Then yes from me as well....and Matt?"I smiled at him.
"Yes?"
"Do not yell at Chris... he did us a favor honestly for real" I laughed.
"I know, I know... I will try my best" He smiled and walked away to his car.
I think I sat in my car for good 15 minutes and just smiled to myself before I left home and had 30 minutes face time call with Nick about this evening.
When shitty day turned to be the best day of my life.
