One of my favorite things is little lines of dialogue like this that imply Luigi is perhaps the most underestimatable bastard in the entire Mario universe.

Shockingly underrated thing about Leo is that he’s legitimately charming when he wants to be?
He’s the Faceman! He’s persuasive! That’s not just some random title he gave himself with no backing to it. People will listen to him. Even if they think he’s being annoying or if they’re upset at him, people listen to him anyway! There’s a reason his bros push him out front to talk to people, and when this happens, that talking nearly always works.
Moreover, Leo knows people. He looks at them and takes into account how they act and what they’re like as he makes his way through the conversations. It’s easy to forget this aspect of Leo’s character because he only brings it out when he really needs (read: wants) to, but it really is a notable part of him that always love to see.
And I say charm in particular because he has a knack for not only getting people to pay attention, but for getting people to stay and listen to what he has to say.

#i have accomplished almost nothing this year i meant to#and most of those things sucked and i still have to do them#most of them are things i was prevented from doing either by being roadblocked or by shit beyond my control#the medical shit i tried to do i just got dicked around with or i was overwhelmed with appointments i didn't need but had to hVe#and i have had physical therapy taking up my one slot a week i can leave fhe house independently and now i have flunked out of that too#because i had to cancel a second time and no-show/cancellation policies are blatantly discriminatory#i just want to be able to walk#and idk if it will get better or what the point is if i will just need surgery eventually and more pt after that#idk#i just feel like im not getting anywhere#im just so TIRED

Our museum on campus is doing an exhibit of items from the twentieth century and is putting out a request for items to loan for display. And of course I'll see what I can find for them, but...that is a weirdly broad and recent timeframe to feature in a museum like it's The High and Far-Off Times. Toys I played with in the 90s and clothes my mom wore in the 80s could end up in a glass case. Bizarre thought.

Love the idea here that the other rebels' problem with Saw is just that he blows shit up and not the whole "torturing prisoners and endangering civilians" thing
#the death stars were both military targets the only people killed in those explosions were military personnel#whereas saw and the partisans have demonstrated multiple times that they have zero regard for civilian life#they got a bunch of civilians at a festival killed on inusagi just to kill one imperial governor and put civilians in danger on jedha#he interrogates people with a telepathic squid monster that mind rapes you and leaves you insane#either that or he electrocutes you and threatens to shoot the queen egg that can save your nearly extinct species#and for every time he gets results there's also an instance of him accomplishing absolutely nothing#he bombs tarkin's base on eriadu and doesn't even succeed in killing him or any of the other officers#he just killed a bunch of easily-replaceable stormtroopers#and if tech really is dead then the only actually noteworthy person he got killed that day was someone that was technically on his side#even if he did kill tarkin or krennic or hemlock they can also be replaced cause everyone in the empire is expendable except palpatine#the empire has no shortage of other officers like them that could continue their work#saw just wants to hurt the empire right here right now and doesn't care about the consequences#he says sacrifice is required for the greater good which isn't wrong but doesn't care who makes those sacrifices for his cause#and no i'm not saying he's some evil monster with no redeeming qualities#we know his backstory we know why he is the way he is and i do think he's sympathetic#but i also think the whole mentality that he was Always Right Actually and the other rebels are hypocrites for no approving of his methods#is really fucking stupid#of course this all stems from tumblr logic that you can't have any characters who fit the ''well-intentioned extremist'' trope#cause if you have a character who has good intentions but goes about the wrong way#then according to tumblr that automatically means you're Demonizing Violent Resistance#even though the characters who disapprove of those extreme methods are in fact ALSO violently resisting#they're just not committing war crimes while they do it#i didn't think these tags were gonna be as long as they were but yeah#bad batch spoilers#in the tags#shut up tristan

ok so i made a list of all the ones i got and im going to work my way through them because it turns out everyone in the world is more interesting than me
but then january sort of hit me like a sledgehammer (derogatory) so i have not yet actually picked up any of the hobbies i was given - however, i did find a gamestore/puzzle store close by that does bi-weekly in person boardgame nights (someone suggested dnd), i'm looking into both stained glass making class AND beekeeping (both sound cool af), i'm thinking about going back to school for bartending (just to get the license - i've been a bartender in the past, but with very little training), and im working up to crochet or knitting - both are things i've tried in the past with literal no success and i'm not sure my hands work like that but im willing to try again because i got that suggestion a lot and i know my sibling really really enjoys both
right now though im doing a paint by numbers my parents got me for christmas, one of those surprisingly fancy ones that have so many different colors and is a picture you give them that they transpose onto canvas and match color numbers for
oh and i also bought a journal cause, you know. something about january makes us all think we could be journal girlies

#idk why I’m putting this in tags instead of an actual post#this is a postitive thing#anyway#i’ve been ‘working out’ (in quotations bc it’s very small and short but it’s still exercise!)#and i’m actually seeing results??#I’m mostly working on my upper body/arms bc of vanity reasons#anyway my biceps and my back look. dare I say. kinda hot.#and I can do like ten more consecutive push-ups than when I started!#which again isn’t a lot but it’s progress and I’m proud#anyway I gotta work on my cardio for actual health reasons not vanity ones#It’s just still kinda really hard to get out of the house#I wanna start doing the uphill trail near my house again but it’s hard to motivate myself alone#and like my dad would go with me but he makes a lot of ‘jokes’ about my health and fitness level that are actually kinda hurtful#he made one of those in front of the friend I did it with a couple weeks ago#and it didn’t ruin my sense of accomplishment but it also definitely didn’t feel great#I know he doesn’t mean anything by it but like. when you get in a crazy screaming match with some rabid misogynistic freak who was harassing women on the subway and who responds by insulting your physical appearance and telling you to kill yourself but then exits the train at the next station
#btw to any young person following getting in screaming match with unstable people on the subway is not like...a great plan tbh#i'm not a goog example tbh and i never claimed to be one so yeah#but yeah dude was screaming obscenities at everyone but nobody in particular at the same time (if that makes sense) and i was like whatever#but then we got on the train itself and my man decided to start shouting all sort of racist and misogynistic insults to 2 elderly asian wom#and i was just like...yeah no we're not doing that today#i did tried to keep things civil for a minute by first asking the ladies themselves if they were ok (they were)#and by being all like come on dude you need to stop#then he started insulting me and i was like i mean if that's what you want that's all good by me#after like 30 seconds he was all out of insults and just telling me to kill myself again and again that was a really boring shouting match#i did informed him that not only i wasn't gonna kill myself but i was going to outlive him and go piss on his grave#shame that i don't have his name because that's the kind of thing i would actually do tbh#anyway the 'i won' part is mostly me joking#this dude clearly just took the next subway and kept insulting people#but oh well at least he had to leave those two ladies alone and that's what i was really trying to accomplish so i did won lol
