Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? most common ones are probably the Sad Sack Sages ( hi etzel, sety ), fiery boys with hearts of gold ( felix, leif ), and dark paladins ( nel, felix ). i also really like chaotic neutral trickster types, but aren't usually confident enough in my ability to write for them haha

What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? action scenes for sure. any scene where there's external momentum driving things forward and giving a sense of momentum and urgency. also just anything that lets me worldbuild or exploring facets of worldbuilding hehe

Favorite TOA-related memory: that's a hard one. probably the final week of arcadia, our first lore event. all the teams ended up in boss battles, but they weren't the guaranteed staple of lore event endings like they are now. it just kind of happened because that's where the stories ended up. the collaborative scene-building and sense of camaraderie in the fights against gricenchos and gofannon are still unmatched for me to this day. they felt like dynamic scenes right out of a lord of the rings movie

Favorite Alignment

Okay this is interesting... I'm not usually one to pick overall considering each game's alignments mean different things, but I like... Neutral, probably. I don't always like everything it stands for I'm just not a huge fan of law considering living under the control of others just for the sake of safety seems like hell to me. and survival of the fittest or whatever is fucking lame actually bc i am so disabled and idk thinking abt it again I just don't rly care for it. Neutral is also kind of like... passive but I prefer it to some of the extremes in some of the games (cough cough literally any Reason in Nocturne)

Best Used Demon

OKAY. I love a lot of the demons in this series... The one I use the most in every game is always Ame-No-Uzume because I looove her design tbh. But I'm really partial to Daisoujou and I think I used him to brute force my way through several boss encounters in Nocturne.

Favorite Playstyle

For strategies? In Nocturne I used a lot of MP drain skills to keep the bosses from kicking my ass the whole time. This is why Daisoujou was my favorite in my last Nocturne run. I have also recently worked on my strategizing so I just buff the hell out of my speed and dodge all their attacks and lower their defense with Taunt. When it comes to gameplay? Not to sound like a broken record but I really like DDS's gameplay and battle system... I have the ring that gives an extra press turn on Heat, the free pass ring on Argilla, and the block ring on Seraph the um. the one that lets you hit a void and lose only one turn. I really enjoy how customizable it is and kicking the shit out of everybody is really really fun. I try to strategize my gameplay a lot more than I used to and it makes me feel like those pokemon tournament champions who coach people's gameplay. I can do that with the press turn system now

Wow, milds all around.

So whimsicott is a speedy spe attacker but remember that they're incredibly fragile, it won't survive a super effective hit. Quirky nature is neutral so there's not much to say there I suppose

Mild boldore... Yikes, tragic it won't fully evolve by being a trade evo but mild is salt in the wound. Boldores are bulky Pokemon yes, but even it's sp defence is horrifically low (bs 40) so having a nature that lowers it's defence in favour of special attacking as a physical attacker (105 bs physical, 50 bs special) makes it so it won't survive a good few hits like other Boldores can...

Whirlipede is a fantastic choice, Scolipede is an amazing Pokemon, speedy and can hit like a truck granted it has the correct moves (physical attacker, 100 bs, not special, 55 bs) if you've already deleted a physical poison move in favour of venoshock, don't worry! When you get surf backtrack to Driftveil and get the item on the route left of the city, that item is poison jab. Neutral nature so that's all

Quiet Scraggy, ouch again. Scraftys are not fast by any means (58 bs) so having its speed lowered in favour for it spe attack (45 bs) as a physical attacker (90 bs) is wild. Though scraftys are incredibly bulky (115 bs on both defences) so while speed lowering isn't ideal, the defence could make up for it

Mild Simisear, wonderful, chefs kiss best one so far. Simisear is a multi attacker (98 on both attacks) but most of their fire type moves are fire, giving you a wonder stab plus nature boosting damage, that can wreck some serious damage. You can even have physical moves if you want since there's nothing I'm aware of impeding it's physical, though special is more ideal. While mild does lower it's defence which is pretty low to begin with (63 bs) its speed makes up for it (101 bs) so as long as you're faster you can deal some serious damage!

Mild dewott, not bad at all! People usually assume that Samurotts are bulky physical attackers, but that's not true, Samurott actually favours more in it's special attacking stat! So having a special attacking boosted nature on an already powerful spe bs (108) will make it a riot! Tragic that it lowers it's defence however but it's high enough in its own defence stat that it shouldn't impede on it too much (85 bs) that's a pretty solid looking dewott! Just remember to teach it spe moves (probably surf as it's the first choice that comes to mind) but don't shy from physical! It boasts a 100 bs in physical attack so some physical will also do it some good since there's nothing effecting that stat

extremely random musings that only appeal to me regarding byleth in smash

me not wanting byleth before he was revealed and the aftermath of the reveal

okay so byleth, or any three houses character, getting into smash was very obvious. one would have been in the base game had the game released during ultimate's development cycle. and as awesome as it would have been to see one of the cool tri-colored lords who DIDNT wield a sword nor had blue hair (or in edelgard and claude's case, had no blue in their color scheme at all, a trait only shared with robin in smash), we all knew they couldn't pick one over the other. if they had to go on a neutral major character from three houses to put in smash with no accidental slant towards one route of the game, it had to have been byleth, the avatar. (i heard some people say they could have handled this by doing a pokemon trainer style character where byleth switches between all three but i think we all knew that was super unrealistic)

i remember before he was revealed that i was vehemently anti-byleth. i literally loved three houses when it came out so much (main personality trait from summer-fall of 2019) but i really wanted dimitri cuz he was my favorite lord (yeah the white male of the three lords was my fave 😔 maybe it's me or maybe it goes to show how they handled the other two in comparison). i was sort of prepping for a three houses character in the game by temporarily implementing dimitri into my headcanons and getting a small bromance started between him and link. i also wanted an air of mystique surrounding the professor (byleth) he brings up, so having him involved in smash was unideal. however, i was also aware of the previously mentioned point of them not picking one lord over another. dimitri was not gonna happen, but i still wanted byleth to not be in smash, so my mindset was "if no three houses lords, then no three houses rep at all"

so anyway byleth got into smash and i remember it so vividly. i could not watch the reveal live (with how the reveal was handled, thank god) because i was in class but during down time one of my friends who also liked smash ran up to me to tell me. i heard whispers online but i was in denial until he straight up told me unprompted. i kind of screamed "WHAT" a little too loudly (cuz i was still in a classroom we just weren't working 😭). and when i saw their renders online (which tbh look sick as hell like the rest of ultimate's renders) i think i temporarily started spiraling but i couldnt explain why i was acting funky because the reason why was so stupid lmao

(sort of reminds me of a time when i was anticipating persona 5 on switch in like, 2019 and heard an announcement was SURELY gonna reveal it, but then it didn't that and i was visibly disappointed during my morning math class to the point where my teacher TOLD MY COUNSELOR and i had to get pulled during the day to see her so she could check up on me LMAOOOO)

the reveal trailer that seemed to have been lab-tested to reflect as poorly on the character and fire emblem in smash as possible

it should go without saying that byleth might have one of the most unfortunate reveal trailers for smash, especially with the standards smash ultimate and especially the fighters pass had set. the fact that he was the LAST fighter of the first fighters pass is crazy in hindsight, imagine if it just ended there.

the only other character that could compare to the disparity between "expectation vs reality" was corrin who was revealed in the final smash 4 presentation (which promised to reveal the winner of the smash ballot so corrin just padded the runtime). corrin was also from a game that was not yet released outside of japan (i dont think it was even revealed to get a localization yet????) so not only was it kind of unecessary it felt like a very blatant ad for The New And Upcoming Fire Emblem Game!! (i know roy did this first, melee predates the release of binding blade after all, but it hits different when the character is revealed in a presentation loaded with expectations)

and of course, the awkwardness of corrin's reveal was the main start to souring people's opinions towards fire emblem in smash. i like corrin and i even like fates but... deserved. even if corrin's moveset was cool as hell.... nothing short of unfortunate

but back to byleth. both avatars actually have similar issues in their reveal trailers actually. the main sticking point is that they both just recycle a cutscene from their home game 💀💀 byleth at least got some new scenes in the style as the ""story"" of the trailer progressed but yeah the opening is straight up ripped from three houses. and crucial context is that this reveal wasn't revealed in a direct where general nintendo news was expected; this was revealed during a dedicated smash reveal, revealing the FINAL character of the first wave of dlc, so expectations were crazy high. the previous four dlc fighters were also ALL third parties that were either out of left-field or miracle picks, so byleth coming in was both mundane and comically funny with how out of place he looked in the lineup.

there was also the awkwardness of byleth's female alt being given her own splash screen, which some people watching thought was wierd since this wasn't extended to previous fe avatars revealed or even the other dragon quest heroes. this was because in japan male and female byleth have different names, so another splash screen for girl byleth was necessary, but that kinda got lost in english so now the trailer has an awkward pause revealing an alternate costume that was expected 😭

in general even if the trailer was plopped in a less... i guess high-stakes context (a mystery presentation dedicated to revealing the final FP1 character) and instead in a nintendo direct, it still would be a bad trailer because i must reiterate THEY REUSED A THREE HOUSES CUTSCENE TO OPEN THE REVEAL. like you could tell it was for smash and not say the three houses dlc since it's pulled from a random ass part of the game's story. there's no suspense since byleth is one of the first characters seen in the video too... maybe it could have been interesting if sothis, instead of helping byleth out of his bind, says "fuck you i'm joining smash" and then the splash card is like "SOTHIS DIVINELY INTERVENES" or some other shit but sothis doesnt really do anything in three houses so that does not seem plausible.....

uh but anyway, given the context and how mid their reveal trailers were i always toss up between corrin and byleth between who is worse. i guess corrin since he didn't get any new animated material in his trailer (after the ripped cutscene it's just gameplay footage), plus byleth being revealed to use the different hero's relics did surprise some people. corrin also being super unknown at the time also didn't help and he did poison the well when it came to fan reaction towards fire emblem characters.... but to be honest i kinda get a kick out of the "why side with one of the kingdoms when you can JOIN SMASH INSTEAD!!!" hook of the trailer/the reason why corrin joined smash. he's like jill in path of radiance, he recruited himself into the roster without anyone asking.

ok this section became more about corrin than byleth but the point is that byleth's reveal is similar to corrin in that it was so underwhelming given the context they were revealed in and the actual execution of their entrance into smash. unfortunate.

a fun bit of trivia i know as an english voice actor enjoyer: male byleth in english has been portrayed by two voice actors. in the launch of three houses he was voiced by chris niosi (who i only knew from octopath traveler but that's neither here nor there), but starting in a post launch patch onwards (including smash brothers) he's voiced by zach aguilar. why the change?

well i think there's been some word floating around that niosi was a kind of shitty person, but i think the more concrete reason was that he broke nda with nintendo by revealing he was the voice of byleth before he was allowed to announce it. i think i heard that he specifically said in some discord server that he was voicing a character that was guaranteed to be in smash.

now look at byleth now. he's in smash and not voiced by him. it's just really funny to me.

another thing that kind of tickles me is i recall when i used to watch zach aguilar's streams he'd usually introduce himself by stating the major characters he's voiced, as a voice actor may understandably do. and among his most important roles he always brings up byleth. makes sense since three houses was really popular and also he's in freaking smash! and sometimes i can only imagine chris niosi punching the air seeing someone else always state he voices byleth constantly when that could have been him if he didn't brag about it too early 🙃 (or idk maybe he doesn't care, i'm not really invested in whatever's going on with some random guy, i'm mostly just amused by the irony of it all and how it turned out in the end)

that's all. byleth was a very expected and mundane addition to the smash roster from a franchise that is not exactly well favored by smash fans, coming after two fire emblem characters who disappointed a lot of people (corrin, due to the circumstances previously mentioned, and chrom, the infamous Clone of a Clone), yet i always have so much to say about his existence in relation to smash.

Conquest - What's your opinion on Pelipper Mail?

Neutral honestly. i dont hate it but also i dont really personally like using it just cause like. pkmn irl is supposed to be. tumblr but if pokemon were real and i do like getting off the rails but the idea of multiversal pelipper who know your location at all times and can even fucking steal from you or STEAL YOUR WHOLE SELF?? is a little much for me sometimes, especially with the utterly fuckwild shit some people send so i tend to ignore pelipper mails unless theyre funny or i like them even if i have them on. tbh i only really have them on on most of my blogs cause it feels like one of the few extra ways to get any interaction (this is also why youll see i usually have like literally every other mail off). it also feels like you cant have a lot of problems on your blog with pelipper mail on cause its like oh you dont have this thing you need? pelipper mail! this thing!! which is why we have the espathra mail system on vital spirit instead.

i dont hate it though! there are some genuinely fun and silly pelipper mails and i cant complain about being unrealistic too much when. gestures to pokemon in general. gestures to me running a yveltal blog. it has definitely grown on me over time and i dont hate when people send me pelipper mail stuff i think its fun!!

Monster Sanctuary is, like I said, an indie monster catching game made by moi rai games. It's on Steam (where it's currently having a 66% discount offer), XBOX, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. You play the silent protagonist role of a newly minted monster keeper, with access to one of four starters

-There were 101 monsters, but the free DLC expansion added 10 more so the final game has 111 different monsters to catch and train

-The battle system is nothing like pokemon. While you still have a 6 monster party, the battles are all 3v3. The battle system is thus geared to making the most out of your team, with passives to help each other, and a combo system that makes the second and third move hit harder, so the order in which you attack becomes important

-There is no speed stat. You choose which monster goes first, second and third, then the enemy does the same. PVP has some extra rules to ensure fairer fights, but let's not worry about that now

-After each fight you get a star rating, depending on a bunch of in-battle factors. Each monster has a drop table of their own, and the better your star rating, the more loot you get from them

-There are 4 elemental types: fire, water, wind and earth, plus melee, magic, neutral and debuff. Each monster in the game is weak and resistant to one of these, but they don't have a type of their own, so it's not like pokemon, where a water type is weak to grass and lightning. Luckily, the game outright tells you your and your enemy's weaknesses and resistances at the beginning of the battle, plus it also tells you when a move will be weak or strong so you don't have to learn everything

-Speaking of moves, each monster has their own unique skill tree, with active moves (offensive, heals, buffs, debuffs, etc), passives and stat increases

while plenty of monsters share plenty of skills, the trees are made in such a way that no two monsters feel the same. Each time you level up, you gain one skill point, to be spent unlocking a new skill. Each monster only goes up to level 42, so you can't actually fully unlock the whole tree, but there's an item that resets the tree that's pretty easy to get, so you can experiment to your heart's content to see which build suits your playstyle better. You can also get multiple copies of each monster to try different builds, if that's what you like

-In addition to the skill trees, each monster can be equipped with 1 weapon item, up to 3 accessory items and up to 4 food items. These modify your stats and can give you passives, to add another layer of customization. Don't worry if it sounds overwhelming on paper, the game is really gentle and makes sure to ease you into all the systems slowly and carefully, so you won't be swamped by all the things you can do all at once

-By the way, there are no pokeballs here. You kill the monsters you encounter, and you get an egg drop from them, which you can instantly hatch into a copy of the monster you just killed. No breeding, no running around hatching eggs, just instantly getting what you wanted. The downside is, the eggs don't have a 100% drop rate. Good star ratings improve the chance of egg drops, and tbh I've never heard of anybody who couldn't get all the mons, so don't worry about it. You might have to grind a little, but it's genuinely not that bad

-There are no random encounters. The monsters walk on the overworld and will fight you if you make physical contact with them. You can jump over them (yes, you can jump) to avoid fights if you want, and later you gain access to several monsters with a skill that allows you to bypass fights entirely

-Yes, monsters have exploration skills. This game has a metroidvania side to it, with each monster having a skill that allows you to sort obstacles. Better jumps, elemental strikes, breaking walls, swimming, etc. As you progress and explore more of the world you will get access to more skills that will unlock more rewards, your standard metroidvania formula. You can freely swap between companion monsters to use whichever skill you need at the moment. Your companion monster will walk or fly alongside you while you're not fighting, so if you've got a fave you can have them by your side the whole game

-You're not limited to 6 monsters. Your fighting party only allows 6, but you can keep every single monster you catch on reserve to swap in whenever you want. They won't get exp from battles unless they're on the main party, but you can use their exploration skills whenever you want. I finished the game and the DLC expansion and I have around 200 monsters total

-There are boss monsters and you can also fight other keepers, though you'll spend most of the game fighting regular monsters. Still, shit can get pretty challenging, so don't lower your guard

-There's New Game+ options, and three different challenge modes. You can stack all three challenges together if you're feeling daring. Oh yeah, and you can like a dozen different save files

So yeah, I love this game, I put over 90 hours in it just for the sheer joy of playing, and while it does have it's downsides (the character customization is shameful tbh, and the story is ok but nothing to write home about), it's damn fun and I wish it were more popular

I’m 20 years old and Bisexual. I also have Autism, ADHD and some health issues like weak bones and scoliosis. I’d probably prefer to be shipped with either a Gym Leader or Champion from Galar, and definitely someone who’s an adult lol. I’m really short, only 5’ (152 cm) at most, with long, wavy and fluffy brown hair. My two favorite hairstyles to do are either the Legolas-style half-ponytail (I don’t know how to describe it…) or two braids hanging over my shoulders. I either look kinda disheveled or I’m really dressed up, there’s seemingly no in-between. I also wear glasses and am very slender. 

I’d probably be really good friends with Allister because I’d definitely be studying Ghost Pokemon, and also I can be very gentle with people. Helping others makes me feel better so I always make a point of being friendly and helpful with everyone I meet. I’d 100% be some kind of researcher in Galar. I'd probably meet them by accompanying Allister to an event with all the other Gym Leaders because he's shy. 

I’m actually a pretty fun person with a witty and sometimes dirty sense of humor, though I’m also very sweet and polite. I enjoy drawing and baking, and I will not stop writing for the life of me. I write whenever possible, and I write very fast too. I once finished an entire nonfiction book in a week. I get flustered easily but I don't have a hard time connecting with people, I'm really not afraid to go up and ask for things. Whenever I do get flustered I giggle a lot (I've been told I have a very cute laugh) and tend to cover my face with my hands. I also have a weird habit of calling people endearing names like "honey" and "sweetie" at random. I give really good advice too.

I'm very soft but have been called argumentative before, but I generally give passes easier than some. I HATE making people feel bad. But if you insult someone I care about there is no mercy tbh. So yeah, sweet but fierce when provoked. I'm very protective over my loved ones. I'm always a little overprepared for everything and have a hard time accepting compliments.

🔥 I feel like Kabu is really just drawn to you! Not only do you care extremely for the people around you, but you don’t let people walk all over you! It’s something that attracted him to you and made him want to get to know you more.

🔥 But when you two first met, it was at some dinner party celebrating the newest Champion’s rise to the throne. Everyone, and Leon ofc, were there alongside the new Champion. So when he saw you were, he was rather confused as it was an event for them, but then he caught sight of Allister clinging to your leg.

🔥 He honestly thought you were his parent, rather than his emotional support. So he def made a fool of himself when he introduced himself to you and told you that he never thought he’d meet the shy boy's parent.

🔥 You laughed so hard at the poor man, you missed how red his face got and how smoke almost came out of his ears. Allister found the situation just as funny, even if he didn’t express it.

🔥 Allister liked Kabu. He was like an uncle to him, as he was very kind to him and helped him with whatever he needed- even if he was a bit rough around the edges, and bold with his approach when it comes to certain topics.

🔥 So it was really no surprise that the more the two of you saw each other at events, and even outside of these events, the two of you pursued a relationship.

🔥 Kabu was the one who confessed to you. The two of you were walking through Motostoke, making your way to some sushi place the gym leaders recommended to try out before Kabu would face a challenger.

🔥 He randomly stopped you and told you that he liked you, a lot, more than friends should. He would then express that he found you alluring and that you kept him on his toes. He was much older than you, obviously, and his life was becoming dull, but you... You brought such warmth and brightness to his life.

🔥 From your witty jokes to how shy you’d get when he’d tease you back. When he’d try to flirt with you and you’d cover your face with your hands, giggling to express just how happy it made you to hear his kind words- Argh. You have him completely wrapped around your finger.

🔥 You did have your concerns initially when he confessed. You shared with him your health issues, and it was important that he knew these things, even if you did speak of them in the past with him... You wanted him to be aware.

🔥 It’s there that Kabu told you that he loves you entirely for who you are, health issues or not, you are who he wants to be with and he’ll hold your hand through your worst days and through your good ones too.

🔥 So you agree to go out with him, much to his relief.

🔥 Allister is happy to hear about it. Very happy to hear about it. As are the other gym leaders and Nessa has become rather good friends with you, Milo has as well, so they were happy to see their father figure be with you.

🔥 Obviously with both of you having significantly different jobs, he always finds some way to connect with you. You need to borrow one of his Pokemon to figure out a theory? They’re yours for however long you need them. You need someone to go out with you in the Wild Area? What time? He’ll pick you up with breakfast./lunch

🔥 Once you moved in with Kabu when your relationship progressed, his favorite thing to do with you is doing your hair in the morning. He always took note of how you styled it, and one morning he asked to do your hair.

🔥 You agreed, as you wanted to see what he would do, and you were surprised to see he managed to do your usual hairstyles- probably even better than you.

🔥 It warmed your heart to know that he noticed these small details about you. So now every morning before you two go to work, he does your hair for you and kisses the crown of your head before your lips to wish you a good day.

🔥 On your days off, you two often go out to do domestic things like shopping for groceries, doing laundry, and cleaning the house up. Sometimes Allister joins in on your hangouts, and it’s become a thing now.

🔥 In a way, Allister has become your son, and it makes you happy to see Kabu feels the same way.

🔥 Kabu feels like you’d be a good parent. The bag you carry with you always has something he or Allister, even those around you, need. Like band-aids, snacks, tissues, pain medication, etc. Someone could name something and you’d more than likely have it. He likes how prepared you are. It makes him less worried about your well-being when he’s not around, because he knows you can take care of yourself.

🔥 The first time Kabu got a taste of your rage, it was when someone couldn’t understand Allister when he decided to be brave one day and order his own food, but obviously his anxiety got the best of him. The vendor snapped at Allister and you didn’t hesitate to drag the vendor through the dirt, and although you said some unsavory things, Kabu felt himself blush.

🔥 It was just attractive. Very very attractive. He showed you how much he loved that side of you later that evening.

🔥 Overall, Kabu feels like he lucked out with you. You’re the person of his dreams and he can’t wait to see what else the future has in store for you two.

Most of what I’m getting when it comes to the open-world stuff is "SWSH Wild Area walked so Leg Arc and ScarVi could run". Definitely interested in the "challenge in any order" gym leader thing tho!

Regarding your Pokémon teams question. This is just my opinion, but… Most competitive: Seungcheol, Mingyu, Seungkwan / Competitive: Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Dino / Neutral: Hoshi, Woozi, DK / Not Competitive: Jun, Minghao, Vernon. Seungcheol is definitely the most competitive, though. Some of the others were hard because they’re competitive under the right setting (ex. gaming). Hope this can help you in some way. I love your Pokémon/gaming thoughts, by the way. Take care! ❤️

i def think like. cheol would be into competitive battling n training up a solid team. idk if i could see him 100% going for a gym challenge just to test his strengths, but i think he'd probably decide to go for it in the end bc competitive.

mingyu i think would def focus in more on a type and work to do well w that specific type? meanwhile i think seungkwan would probably 1. pick pokemon he thinks get underestimated a lot and work w them (u know the dude who like... won the championships one year with a team that has a pachirisu? trained tht thing up to take hits and used follow me so that his team could do damage while the pachirisu redirected attacks toward itself). both are solid trainers in their own rights but i think seungkwan is definitely way more strategic while mingyu is more focused on strength and covering things

also ngl i see cheol + gyu (+ a few others) working out w their fighting type pokemon.

on one hand i could see dino having a good time traveling w his pokemon and just having fun, on the other i think he'd probably have some sort of rivarly with jeonghan. jeonghan is dedicated to his team imo and doing well w them, but it does help to have friends/rivals (joshua/dino) to push himself to do better. hes also a mom to his team imo. joshua n jeonghan travel together <3 thank u

wonwoo i honestly think is hit or miss? i think he'd enjoy battling but he wouldn't do it super often. i think he'd probably enjoy just traveling and battling from time to time with people. if he was gonna do anything competitive, i think he'd choose to take on a gym challenge.

tbh? i think hoshi does lean more toward being competitive. if not battling, then i def think in contests :0

jihoon just wants to chill. probably has a solid team in case he has to battle, but is happy enough just chilling with his pokemon and traveling and working

Aus my beloved. They probably fit well into any world that has magic powers or magical tbh. I don’t really think of aus for my ocs though, so I don’t got many thoughts.

I have however thought of an AU where Calamity is instead the Interceptor. Some changes include Aero being his host instead of Alain, and Calamity would most likely go on the neutral ending in this case (I can’t say for certain since yknow, the stories not finished). He’s super fucking stressed trying to get home to Fate. He’s often referred to as “a kid wise beyond his years” due to the fact he is a literal adult in a teenagers body, but no one knows that so he’s just silently suffering. You know for fucking sure once he figures out the black box aging slider thing he makes himself look more like an adult. He’s sick and tired of being treated like a kid, especially by those he’s older than. Also he doesn’t get Zekrom (at least in the beginning) in this AU so his starter is a Torchic! His other pokemon are the same though!

Fate’s not as crazy as her brother under extreme stress tho, so I don’t think she’d come to Aevium looking for him. She probably hide away and become despondent to others. She’s placed under the care of a family friend. She’s never the same after her brother disappeared. I don’t know if Calamity ever comes home so. a n g s t a n d p a i n.

Something I don't think we as a fandom talk about enough is the fact that Hunter was always branded with a coven sigil.

There was no scenario at the end of Philip's plans where Hunter, or any Golden Guard we can presume, would ever be allowed to live.

We can say he misses his brother as much as we want, read into how he said Hunter looked the most like Caleb, but at the end of the day, he still branded him with a sigil. He was still slated to die along with everybody else on the Boiling Isles except for Philip.

No matter what happened, only one brother was ever returning home.

Hello! I really love your fic Pryoclasm and just love how you write Maxie and the Magma gang. I don't know if you've been asked this before but what are some of your headcanons with them? (magma gang or just team aqua/magma in general?)

ANON you have made my DAY with this thank you so much!! I'm not gonna include art with this bc you've opened Pandora's box I have a lot of headcanons and hopefully they will suffice. I'm also gonna limit these to Magma for now bc honestly i could do a whole separate post w Aqua. Also most of these apply to Pyroclasm Magma in particular but sometimes also in general? I can and will have conflicting headcanons and multiple interpretations and no one can stop me. And now they are under the cut because this got Long!

- The biggest one should be obvious to anyone who's read the fic but Pyroclasm Maxie is nonbinary! This is one of my few HCs where my personal take on the character actually differs from my HCs on the character in general. Pyromax is nonbinary and ace, whereas I think canon Maxie is probably cisgendered and gay

- Going off of that Courtney and Tabitha are both bi and cis.

- Maxie gave themself the name Maximilian Ashwright to establish an identity that gets away from their deadname and family. The whole "not really existing" bit is really helpful in leading an organization that some people might classify as 'ecoterrorism.'

- Tabitha is the braincell of Team Magma. I know Ive suggested this before but it is The Most True in Pyroclasm. Courtney and Maxie are chaos gremlins together and almost all of their ideas are bad. Team Magma would have fallen apart without Tabitha.

- Maxie is not actually as smart as they would like you to think they are.

- no really.

- Maxie's whole thing (and I HC this for canon Maxie too bc just. Go back and read his arguments that he proposes to the player) is that they can express their ideas very confidently and aggressively enough that most people either back down or get caught up in their chain of logic. If you go back and think over what they've actually said there's a good chance you'll realize it makes no sense at all.

- Maxie could be a lot smarter if they didn't have an ego the size of one (1) super ancient legendary eldritch earthmover getting in the way.

- Maxie has mastered the art of getting places through sheer determination and decisions of questionable legality.

- Tabitha is capable of rational thought and that's why he's the smart one.

- Maxie and Courtney met in college; specifically Courtney was an undergrad for a class that Maxie was teaching as a grad student. Said class was about the intersection of pokemon and ancient cultures and they bonded over the roles of legendary pokemon to these civilizations. They also bonded over being chaotic neutral but anyway

- Maxie specifically was pursuing a masters degree, with their topic being focused on a lost civilization in one of Hoenn's water routes. They consistently clashed with their professors over this and eventually ended up quitting the program before getting their masters, and left with Courtney when she graduated

- Before they left though they spent one weekend learning how to eat fire and still use it for horrifying party tricks sometimes. Tabitha banned them from making a Magma initiation ritual out of it

- Tabitha and Courtney are behind a lot of the tech that Magma actually uses; Maxie handles overall organization and research into the history of Groudon.

- Maxie is the best battler in Team Magma by a longshot--followed by Courtney, then Tabitha. None of them are anything to slouch at, but Maxie in particular is quite capable of using their pokemon to wreak havoc.

- Tabitha bakes to relieve stress and will not hesitate to smack you if you try to stick your fingers into the batter

- Maxie lives most of the time on exclusively straight black coffee because any sugar will put them to sleep. They are absolutely a hypocrite about pestering others to take care of themselves when they will not take care of themself

- Courtney is the rock nerd of the bunch and used to be in a rock lovers club with Steven. Steven told her once that one of her papers was intriguing but needed peer review. Maxie told her peer review was only relevant if her peers were as smart as she was

-tbh there's probably others i've forgotten about so maybe ill come back for a round 2 later but hopefully this is a good start anon!

we’re in the heavy-depression period of the year right now, and work’s going to pick up like crazy as it gets closer to christmas, so i can’t say for certain i’ll have much time/attention until like... february? but i’m still taking requests, and will get to them... at some point... 

As usual, my complete guidelines can be found here, but the jist is pretty simple stuff: nothing nonconsensual, or ‘too gross’ (scat, emeto, watersports etc), and I also won’t write pregnancy asks or asks abt motherhood because I find the subject triggering. im developing a lot of aus including the reverse au which is currently only available for rose, but leon also has it developed, i just forgot to put it in the verses page for him haha but wow im developing a reverse verse for a chara i dont have??? i might as well throw damos on the blog and be the only person in the pkmn rpc who plays him LMAO i cant help falling for obscure characters but i think he might have a better chance in getting interactions than my etrian odyssey muses but no if anyone wants to do damos,,,,you can hmu 😳😳 i cant reply it or see it if you do tho LMAOO

anyway reverse!damos here who goes by lazarus (meaning: my god has aided me) is not a nice farmer unlike his normal verse, instead being akin to a mercenary, but he kinda fills in the role of marcus - he has the ability to manipulate the hearts of pokemon, even legendaries and because of this, he’s been fiddling with legendaries and experimenting with things to try something out - and while reverse!arceus has been severely weakened from an intense fight or a meteorite too (im still figuring it out) and lost its life plates, lazarus finds it. it’s on the brink of dying, and instead of returning the plates like a nice person, lazarus only thinks of profit and benefitting himself - because it’s so vulnerable, it manipulates reverse!phae into summoning the lake guardians, where it promptly fights them and steals their gems before kicking them into the dirt. then he uses said gems to restraint and fully take control of reverse!phae before inserting the plates back into it, saying it will only get them back if it corporates. yes, lazarus literally pulls a cyrus being the first one to actually create a draft of the red chains to have arceus under its command. one of cyrus’ pc posts is “According to myths, the Pokémon created Sinnoh with its power. However, capturing the Pokémon with a Poké Ball prevents it from using its full power... But with the Red Chain, the Pokémon can be shackled, and its power can be used without restraint...” and he’s implying arceus with the first mention of pokemon, so maybe the red chains can be used on god??? i dont see why not, although the lake guardian was made more to check the creation trio than god itself, but why wouldn’t you have checks against god? “The Pokémon of the lakes and Mt. Coronet are somehow connected. Capturing the Pokémon of the lakes will free the Pokémon of Mt. Coronet. From the Pokémon of the lakes, crystals can be extracted to create a Red Chain.” i know he implies the creation trio with pkmn of mt. coronet but technically arceus lives in mt. coronet as the hall of origins can be summoned there LEMME HAVE THIS - 

originally i was going to have reverse!arceus be a completely neutral god, both in personality and how it handled things - just create life, casually, and just head out and do nothing for them - “the humans can handle their planet however they wish to. if they destroy it, they destroy it.” and i was trying to redesign it and it kept coming up as punk (more below because this is a long ass post)

so i was like, aight i guess i’ll go with what my heart wants but something still didnt feel right, because punk is an expression more than just a simple fashion statement - it was created to rebel against those who tried to hold you down and mold you into who they wanted you to be. to defy the shitty standards of what’s supposedly normal. and then it all clicked when i looked at this vid 

ive heard the music itself and one of my favs, but not the music video so i kinda just exploded with ideas and it really completed the punk i wanted to go with - funny thing, im a bad character designer so i scrapped the punk look and pulled a unique thing with phae’s case - legendaries and mythics are statements of unchanging, fixated ways while normal, evolvable pokemon are statements of improvement and change - growth, which is something phae is completely jealous of. gods don’t evolve; they don’t change. so i thought, why not keep its original look (i love it too much anyway and i cant think of anything better tbh for phae) to reflect that aspect but have the way it governs and behaves different? normal!phae and reverse!phae are still similar but opposite - normal being the kind, caring god and reverse being the relentless, uncaring god. both are the two most popular aspects and themes of gods and how they treat those beneath them, so i thought it worked.

reverse!phae never wanted to be a god. it’s immature and uncaring on purpose to get the attention of the creator of the original one itself; to be a sign of rebel, to show that it was its own character and no one can morph it into what they want it to be. it revels in its creations screaming in pain, as nothing else entertains it so and because it empathizes with them. it sends the world into pure chaos a majority of time so no one enjoys living. seeing its creations, both human and pokemon, excel in the trials and tribulations of this hell; seeing them perform so expertly under extreme stress, how humans and pokemon can come together and defeat anythin - and rebelling in their own right and way give reverse!phae so much hope and relief. that it’ll be able to do the same. and once reverse!phae does get its creators attention, you bet it’s gonna be very angry on why it exists. it might even try to murk its creator. it’s more of a “i didn’t ask to be born so i’m gonna make it your problem” type of person, and a god prone to violence - often fighting with its own creations, like even the lake trio and the creation trio. but it checks them all every time, and it’s so hungry for an actual fight that reverse!phae can actually work for and struggle for and feel like it actually won. and that’s when lazarus comes in. that’s where lazarus comes in.

how much it hates lazarus. how much it hates lazarus. it hates everyone, but lazarus has a special kind of hatred reserved just for him. in fact, hatred isn’t the proper word to explain the intense, raw, unfiltered feelings reverse!phae has for him. on one hand, it absolutely respects the honest work he puts in to further himself, but on the other hand, being the one on the receiving end of his malicious intentions is never ideal. it has no interest in whatever petty crimes he wants to commit, but trying to take god and become it yourself? completely admirable. a fantastic way to rebel, but having to have someone chain you down and control you? reverse!phae’s worst nightmare. i’ll get into that later since this is already long enough god help me

is reverse!phae messed up? yes, severely. that’s kinda what happens when you rot alone in the depths of dark space for eons. no human nor pokemon - no, no living being can ever handle that. both normal! and reverse!phae have the same backstory, but different reactions to it. reverse!phae wants everyone to scream and lash out, it wants everyone to rebel against their origins and become their own people, even with the immense baggage on their shoulders. it wants everyone to risk death to accomplish their dreams. it laughs in everyone's faces before spitting in them. i think reverse!phae will be one of my most violent takes on a muse, if not, my most since it is god and the shit it talks can easily be proven right. it constantly berates and breaks people down into pieces. no one understands it. it hates everyone and everything it sees. it doesn’t need love and kindness, it just needs a body to break. which is untrue, because obviously its yearning for love and kindness - something its never experienced - and it’s lashing out for attention. secretly hoping someone will just hug it and all its problems away. that everything will be okay in the grand scheme of things. that it won’t have to have the unlimited stress of being a god anymore.

usually when i put my touch on muses, canon or not, they’re primarily good people with hearts of gold. even with ones less so, they’re not as intense as this. so working with that kind of character is thrilling and i’m excited to see if i can get anyone interested with it lmao- reverse!phae’s name might be nou or chali, what would be better? sorry this was such a long post!! i’ve been working on this since last night and it’s been really fun to develop like this again - i only get this kind of productive with my hyperfixations, so they’re both a blessing and a curse -  i think this is everything i have rn for the reverse au but ii’ll be going back into it
