The Super Mario Bros. Movie is amazing, I loved watching it and recommend it to everyone! However, I do say the movie did seem different, like it was maybe overhyped? It is not a bad thing, like I want to watch it over and over, but like I have some things with the movie that I was a little upset with...

The characters did not have much development and bonding. Like, It only shown facts for them, not much about them talking. Sure Peach and Donkey Kong open up a little and we see Luigi and Mario at the beginning and how their relationship is....

Also, it felt like not really a movie. It felt like bunch of scenes connected and that is it. It did not fully add up, just seem to tell the story and have occasional random scenes that did not need to be there.

Maybe I am way into stories and characters in anything, but like I wanted more I guess? I am sorry, I do love the movie and I say it is in my top favorites today now!

I should probably go write fanfiction on it, yet I am not so talented and I do not know fully what to write about it...

Sorry, I just am a little sad that they did not have mainly more Mario and Luigi time... I freaking love those two, Peach also but I mean she and Luigi never really talked so oh well...

comics as an art form make me insane. they’re so difficult to do well. there’s so many different ways to make sequential art work and most of them are deeply unintuitive. onomatopoeia that feels completely ridiculous to put down often reads seamlessly. panels on a page become a fractally nested image composition challenge that’s only possible to lose because if you do a good job no one will notice. you have to direct the readers’ eyes on a specific path across the page but also account for the fact that they won’t follow it. comic time isn’t linear. if the order of events isn’t crystal clear the story becomes incomprehensible. sometimes you need to do this on purpose. all this for a medium almost universally considered less effective than animation and less respectable than plain text. even its own name doesn’t take it seriously
