{ ticket status: open }
🍿 THEATRE RULES
i’ve been writing dc for a while and wow, i’m getting a lot of attention haha. anyways, heres my first event! i might extend this to november considering i can’t write every single day. october is coming, and its my birth month! also a very creative day for writers, so i wanted to do something. thank you for everyone who liked and reblogged my works!
🎞️ HOW IT WORKS
i will be listing themes, prompts, faves, settings. all you need to do is send me an ask and your ideas!
i do not have a limit on how many fics im writing, but i will write as much as i can!
please expect delayed responses, i am a busy person and i only do this for fun.
i will be choosing what’s in my askbox, so there may be a chance i won’t be able to do yours, but no worries! send as much as asks as you want.
i will only do one prompt, if i like yours a lot i might do two. i will cross out the prompts i have already done
word limit will be 1k-8k depending on my mood.
i accept anon asks of course, but i prefer answering from non-anons.
i think..i’ll do spicy fic? it really depends, but i’ll add it as an option anyway. i’ll be likely to not choose it.
i accept platonic requests! i love platonic dynamics.

9 Favourite Albums - Choose 9 & then tag 9 people! Or you can do nine singles or EPs, whatever lol.
Tagging @cactus-bag @catsafari25 @labyrinthal @sleeeepy-demon @retourne-toi-eurydice @belladonnafey @scorpius-rising @cry4judas @atuans @nicey-sandokan @evyes no obligations feel free 2 ignore
Albums listed (and me rambling) under the cut
TIME - ELO: my mum's favourite album that i first Properly listened to when i was 13. it's just the best sci-fi concept album ever....i love you jeff!!
13 Tales of Love & Revenge - The Pierces: sexy indie duo, most known for the song Secret, which isn't even in the top 5 of the best songs of the album. a treasure from when i was 11, and just figuring out i like girls.
Greatest Hits - The Eagles: again, my mum's interests becoming my own. it was really hard to pick between this and Long Road Out of Eden, but ultimately the greatest hits r that for a reason.
Laurel Hell - Mitski: my fave mitski album, heat lightning is underappreciated!!! and yeah just. its about solitude. recognition but not in the way you wanted or expected. emotional rollercoaster. im not eloquent enough to describe it and mitski does it better in under 2 minutes anyway.
Strange Trails - Lord Huron: again another hard toss between this and long lost but st wins out purely bc the transitions rule, and meet me in the woods + the yawning grave make me crazyyyy. so happy i got to hear those live in jan. lord huron is like what if a cowboy was also a ghost. thats the only way i can describe it.
Electra Heart - Marina and the Diamonds: i am not immune to music i heard at 12 years old. shame she's never made anything as good as this again.
Are We Having Fun Yet? - Black/Colin Vearncombe: another one of mum's. She found this guy when someone at Sanity was playing the album over the store speakers. loved it ever since, and introduced it to me. wistful ballads, jazzy touches, a little bit sexy.
Coyote Stories - The Crane Wives: this was a 2016-18 discovery maybe? i just know i was in school. im into folk indie i cant help it.
Wasteland, Baby! - Hozier: shout out to afro-elf for posting about movement n the whole ep, which is what spurred me to actually try this dude's music. and now i love him. but wasteland baby is immaculate: no skips, he roars in some songs and is as gentle as drizzle in others.
#i just thought this might be fun#Um also i thought i would tag ppl i don’t usually tag. hi. feel free to ignore this whole thing xx#u can just send me a thumbs down emoji or smth to opt out of me ever tagging u in anything again i wont be offended#i personally picked no-skip albums#ones that just missed the cut: ungodly hour - chloe x halle transcendental youth - tmg travelling wilbury's vol 1 purple rain - prince and#and the very best of the bee gees roy orbison tom petty fleetwood mac etc. oh and 1 fob album lol.#but these albums. these ARE me. essential#If you've read this far...you've unlocked a key 🔑#key to my heart!! lmao ok bye

tagged by @fedorovista and @folie-a-dewey!! thank u!!
9 favorite albums in no particular order under the cut:
*** just as a sidenote, because i like too much music, i'm doing albums i like as cohesive units. albums that hold together and tell a story. albums that i listen to from start to finish because the songs go together in a particular order in my mind, for whatever reason.
strange trails by lord huron. world's most perfect story album. need i even elaborate. maybe my favorite album of all time. the musical & lyrical motifs that carry through the whole thing, the examination of romance and death and the way they intertwine, the whole convoluted multi-character storyline that underlies it. if you like folk music and undeath and evil women, please for the love of god listen to this album.
we were dead before the ship even sank by modest mouse. world's second most perfect story album. now, if you were to ask me, hey, what IS the story this album is trying to tell? i couldn't begin to answer. but this album is just. omg. the tone is so cohesive throughout while still allowing for changes in register, concept, and overall sound. also has the best opening line to an album in the history of albums.
so much for stardust by fall out boy. okay this one's a gimme but come on. pop-punk retrospective on the state of the world since 2016? with lyricism that makes me weep? came out just weeks after i the birthday where i realized that i wanted to be alive for the first time in like three years? it's not even close.
jenny from thebes by the mountain goats. NOW LISTEN. i knowww it's just the most recent mountain goats album. why, you might be asking, did i not go for beat the champ instead? and the answer is i can only choose 9 albums and i think jenny from thebes is underrated. life-changing lyricism with orchestral instrumentation that could tear me in half. also i've talked so much about it on this blog i think it would be wrong of me not to mention it.
in sickness and in flames by the front bottoms. talk about cohesion!!!!! a whole album that is essentially a love letter to all the messiest parts of a relationship! all the characters are so interesting and flawed!! and every single one of the songs are unapologetically horny to boot. also just the transitions between songs are soooooooo good. not to be the 'jerk/the truth' guy but um. the switch from jerk into the truth is one of my all-time faves.
doom days by bastille. i'm an apocalypse junkie. next.
science from an easy chair by have gun, will travel. this is entirely the wrong blog but HEY. if anyone out there likes the terror, this album is for you. it's a story concept album about ernest shackleton's expedition to antarctica aboard the endurance. the first song i heard from it was the rescue party, which is one of the most atmospheric story-focused folk songs i've ever heard. just unbelievably emotional and smart. love it.
lungs by florence + the machine. you've seen my recent posts. howl & kiss with a fist & i'm not calling you a liar & rabbit heart & my boy builds coffins &. well. you get it.
mixtape for the milky way by mixtape for the milky way. hi fellow minnesotans. go listen to jeremy messersmith's side project album about being raised in a fundamentalist christian cult. go on. noooo it won't hurt you. don't worry it's not heartbreaking at all. it's not my favorite album of his since the silver city or anything haha that would be crazy. 👀
ok that got way too long whoops BUT thank you to the folks who tagged me!! i love chatting music so if u see this & want to make your own PLEASE tag me !!!
#for real i need everyone to listen to mixtape for the milky way. alleluia will Change you.#but aaa ya thank you!! this was fun i love to talk abt music even if my taste is um. best described as nerdy probably#bees speaks#tag game

Rules: answer and tag people you want to get to know better and/or catch up with!
Tagged by @ellelans, thank you my dear 😊💖
favorite color: as a painter I don't really do fave colours, everything is just so good. Teal blue is up there tho, along with rich foresty greens and warm yellow
last song: The World Ender by Lord Huron
last movie: The Last Duel, which was honestly so good (even if it was really jarring to see three Big Hollywood faces in a medieval french setting)
currently reading: Deadpool & Wolverine fics. Book-wise, I just finished The Little Shop of Happily Ever After by Jenny Colgan, which was both very cute and cosy and also kinda relatable 😅
currently watching: Boston Legal (reruns on TV again). Prev Elle if you think Big Bang Theory is considered problematic, Boston Legal would give half this website a heart attack. But honestly? It's one of my favourite shows. It's got a LOT of political topics that are still relevant, has a lot of earnestness, and much more sharp, funny and intelligent writing than most modern shows - despite some of its issues (which there are, I won't deny it)
currently craving: not really anything just now tbh, had a mid-afternoon snack like an hour ago so I'm sated 😊
tea or coffee: bothhhh tho tea takes the edge just a little. Mostly bc too much coffee does give me a headache. But I love the amount of different flavours of tea there are, and I love making unique coffee syrups to make nice coffee with!
tagging: @witchklng, @thatsthewrongwallcraig, @rulemakingrat and anyone who feels like it
#anne speaks#tag game#you're lucky it's a quiet work day bc i honestly never respond to tag games (not bc i don't want to i just tend to forget 😅😅)

People You'd Like to Get to Know Better
tagged by @lemonsrosesandlavender!! 8D Ahh! This was so fun! Thank you for tagging me!
*Fave Ships*
For current fic writing projects/hyper-fixations - Rolan x Tav (BG3), Gale x Tav (BG3), and, I'm not going to lie, Cal x Tav too.
Aziraphale x Crowley (Good Omens) - The ending of season two wrecked me body and soul, but I'm holding out for season three!
Nyssa x Chandra from Magic: The Gathering - They were a cannon pairing, but that was retconned... I still ship them to the ends of the earth.
Isobel x Dame Aylin - They're just so perfect.
Chidi Anagonye x Eleanor Shellstrop (The Good Place)
*Last Film*
I honestly put on a lot of really bad horror films/ghost shows when I write/work remotely, and I don't really pay full attention to them, so it's a bit tough me to nail this one down. I also don't really count these as being "watched," since I was only half paying attention.
The last film I saw (and paid attention to) was either Oppenheimer or Wolfwalkers.
*Last Song*
To the Ends of the Earth by Lord Huron
*Currently Reading*
A... a lot... I have a really bad habit of either reading 1-2 books at a time, or reading somewhere around seven. I'm dealing with the latter at the moment, so I'll narrow it down to what I'm actively working through--I'm reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, Lost Gods by Brom, One Piece (vol. 3), and I'm re-reading the Twilight Princess manga.
*Craving*
A breakfast burrito--there's a really good chain in my state, and my partner and I drove over yesterday only to learn it was closed.
And seafood rice. After writing about it, all I want to do is eat it.
Thanks again for the tag! Passing it on to @queeronaquest, @graysparrowao3, @waterdeeply, @freesidexjunkie (Only if you want to! :D )

I’m trying to make my own AW2 playlist of chapter ending songs—do you have any recommendations? Feel like we’re similarly obsessed with the spiral…
Thnx for your question! And well yeah I might be a bit obsessed with the spiral/loops and its endless possibilities & scenarios that could've been 👀
Besides the official ending songs the game already provides, there are some other songs that give me general AW/AW2 vibes or specific feels for certain characters! I've been pondering about songs to share for a while, so this is a great opportunity! Thnx again for the ask!
Also feel free to share your own songs in my inbox if you feel like it :D
It's gonna be a long post so buckle up 😅
This is the moment to share my love for Lord Huron, specifically their Strange Trails album but also Vide Noir one.
Strange Trails is, to me, an album about being lost and cursed and it's about love. Honestly, I don't think The Night We Met is a good representative about the entire album.
Meet Me In The Woods
This entire song just screams Alan Wake to me.
I took a little journey to the unknown, And I come back changed. I can feel it in my bones. I fucked with forces that our eyes can't see. Now the darkness got a hold on me.
(...)
How long, baby, have I been away? Oh, it feels like ages though you say it's only days. There ain't language for the things I've seen. And the truth is stranger than my own worst dreams.
(...)
I have seen what the darkness does. Said goodbye to who I was. I ain't never been away so long. Don't look back them days are gone. Follow me into the endless night. I can bring your fears to life. Show me yours and I'll show you mine. Meet me in the woods tonight.
Like, how can you read those lyrics and not think about our boy Alan.
2. Way Out There
Drifting in a land time forgot If you think that I've changed, you know me not I belong bodily to the earth I'm just wearing old bones from those that came first I been unraveling since my birth
Those lyrics and partially the song in general remind me of Alan in the Dark Place trying to escape. How many loops has he been through? (Thus in this context, kind of wearing 'old bones from those who came first, aka older iterations of Alan himself) Also, the theremin they use is so fitting and it's an instrument often used in horror movies so <3
3. Vide Noir (both album itself & song)
Where can you go when it’s all in your head? These are the last words that I ever said Where can you go when it’s all in your head? These are the last words that I ever said
Tbh, this album also gives off major Control vibes with its themes and songs about the Astral plane & the black void. Many other songs on the album talk about the main character getting lost and drifting in-between time/space and living/dying
4. War by Poets of the Fall
You might be familiar with the song already and its music video 👀
I like how all the Poets were involved in the video as Taken (have you seen BTS shots of Olli with a fake beard?!!) Anyways, the song makes me think of how Alan has to remember that there are people out there who want to help him. That there are people out there fighting against the Darkness, even if he is mainly unaware and might even feel he doesn't deserve external help. It also reflects Alice being Alan's bright light in the darkness, and the reason he wants to keep fighting to get back to her.
In a similar vein, Lust For Life (also PoTF haha) this song could also be seen through an Alan/Alice lens, the shared shoebox mechanic and Alice trying to help/guide Alan back to the real world.
What is lost may be found Safe and sound
5. Hello Cabaret by PoTF
Now this song is maybe one of my faves of the Ghostlight album. Relistening to my fave lyrics of the song, it reminds me of the Koskelas and Ilmo specifically.
For when you come calling Dancing on my grave For all my choices made Judging me for how I played The hand you dealt me Stains the blood that flows
(...)
Of all I once did love but lost Nothing comes without a cost The wise fool said that's just the way it goes
(...)
Most will never comprehend Till' they're in the very predicament
To me, Ilmo at the end of the game is heartbroken and dead inside now that his other/better half is gone. The 'you' in question here might as well be the player or Scratch/Alan and he feels judged by the narrative of his previous actions. He's made decisions and sacrifices and used the Cult as a palpable 'villain' for the greater good. Something many probably didn't/wouldn't understand unless they were in his shoes.
6. Chasing Echoes by PoTF
It's a fun coincidence that in AW2 you have literal Echoes to chase huh.
Is this a role or disguise seeking mercy in creation? Just another device or truly a time when we will rise? Oh one and all, to the occasion And bridge the gap to see the other side?
The more on-the-nose/literal meaning aside, I think this song can be read as another one about Alan trying to escape the DP/spiral upwards toward ascension. Again, there's a 'you' in this song that could be interpreted as Alice who is a light inside Alan's darkness.
7. Brother by Lord Huron
How long have I known you, brother? Hundreds of lives, thousands of years How many miles have we wandered Under the sky, chasing our fear? Considering the spiral and the historical background of the Koskelas and their (indirect) ties to the Huotaris, they might as well known each other/been brothers for longer than what we see in-game. Some kind of trouble is coming Don't know when, don't know what I will stand by you, brother 'Til the daylight comes or I'm dead and gone
(...)
I know we can't stop what's coming But I will try, oh how I'll try Will you fight with me, brother One last time, one last fight
We know Ilmo got visited by the Dark Presence and has had nightmares about killing Jaakko. Luckily, he rose above that (as far as we know) but I think the dread and fear of losing Jaakko keeps lingering just underneath the surface. Personally, I enjoy the thought of people sometimes remembering the previous loop/spiral and that those affected/remembering would try anything to keep the loop from repeating.
8. You Belong To Me by Cat Pierce
If you're a fan of Alan/Scratch, this song has that obsessive/possessive vibe to it that seems to be a dialogue/mix between them.
I've heard allegations 'bout your reputation I'll show you my shadows if you show yours Let's get it right dear, give a good fight dear We'll keep it all up behind closed doors
(...)
I must confess to you, I want to possess you Feels like we're dreaming, we're tripping and reeling Just say that you belong to me I could get lost in the feelings we're feeling Just say that you belong to me
#anon ask#alan wake 2 spoilers#alan wake 2#alan wake#alice wake#TLDR: Lord Huron Strange Trails/Vide Noire albums and PoTF's Ghostlight album <333#koskela brothers#ilmo koskela#jaakko koskela#my posts#my ramblings#songs I listen to for years now and always like to reassign to the fandom at hand

Hello, hope you’re doing well!! 1, 3, 12, 17, 24 and 38 for the ask game please 😊
doing pretty good! have two job interviews tomorrow so nervous about that but also excited. hope you're doing well too and thanks for the ask!!
one: what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are? going to skip past the obvious like my parents and say american girl dolls (got me into history, made me major in it in college and got me to get my MA in public history, so all my career stuff has been tied back to them hahaha), joining my livejournal/dreamwidth roleplaying communities which kept me writing a lot and getting involved in fandom stuff (this is how I met @heystovepipeboys!) and generally growing up as and staying a big nerd about a lot of stuff, which shapes pretty much everything about me all the time lol.
three: 3 films you could watch for the rest of your life and not get bored of? hmmmmm tough call bc I don't think my usual answers for favorite movies necessarily fit this (jaws is usually what I say is my fave, but I don't ever really put it right back on after watching it), so the ones I tend to be like okay let's put it right back on as soon as the credits roll are princess mononoke, what we do in the shadows, and captain america: the winter soldier. honorable mentions to star trek '09 and x-men: first class which I watched about a hundred thousand times in college whenever I wanted to put something on while writing.
twelve: what’s some good advice you want to share? don't settle for a partner who doesn't or barely tolerates your hobbies and interests. there are so many people in my doll collector groups who talk about spouses/partners who actively hate their collections or shame them for having them, and honestly life is too short for that. I was told for years as a kid/teen/young adult that I'd never find someone who liked disney/comic books/collecting toys/star trek/pokémon/history as much as I did, so I'd have to get used to the idea of getting rid of all my stuff when I got married, but my wife is super supportive of my interests and actively participates in 90% of them. she even collected dolls before she met me! your partner doesn't have to be involved with everything you do, but they should respect your interests and you should respect theirs!
seventeen: name 3 things that make you happy cats, delicious baked goods, wearing comfortable pajamas while wrapped in a million blankets
twenty four: what’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for? finishing the first draft of my novel! it's a historical fiction piece about a marine coming back from a japanese pow camp at the end of WWII and dealing with all the different questions of "what now?" now that the war's over. I'd been working on it since 2018 and it's crazy seeing it printed out and finished even if it still needs a lot of editing hahaha.
thirty eight: fave song at the moment? meet me in the woods by lord huron

Five songs I've been listening to lately
tagged by @cutiequisitor! Thanks for the tag!
Frozen Pines by Lord Huron. It's a) a good song and, b) is the flagship of my Crosshair playlist. With season 3 of the bad batch airing you know its top of my on repeat lol
youtube
2. When You Were Young by the Killers. My go to karaoke song, it's been one of my faves since it came out, but I hadn't heard it in a while when it busted onto a playlist i was listening to and here I am back at it again.
youtube
3. Supercut by Lorde. I love the whole melodrama album but supercut always makes me feel ready for spring and summertime adventures and here it's just on the cusp of spring.
youtube
4. Wild Heart by Bleachers. This one snuck up on me. I added it to a playlist because i liked the vibes and then found myself skipping songs to hear it faster. Great driving home at sunset song.
youtube
5. Dancing after Death by Matt Maeson. I've been thinking about putting together a Cal playlist for a while and the thought keeps coming up whenever this song comes on, which is often. It has Cal n Merrin vibes to me.

🌸 -- Song tag!
when you get this, list 5 songs you like to listen to, then tag 10 of your followers
I have a 4 hour long playlist of songs I like to listen to the most, but here are some of my favorite songs picked from the I Met a Girl in a Graveyard playlists on Spotify (Story linked here, Kaz's playlist linked here, story info linked here)
"Into the Unknown" from Over the Garden Wall (Spotify/Youtube) As many spooky/Halloween fans will tell you, there's no beating OTGW, and the opening song has remained one of my favorites in the entire show.
"Louisa" by Lord Huron (Spotify/Youtube) One of my favorite songs from this band, it feels so full of joy and makes me think of summer afternoons.
"I Don't know what we're talking about" by Ninja Sex Party (Spotify/Youtube) NSP has been one of my fave bands for years now, but this one is close to my heart for obvious reasons. Other recommendations: 6969, Dinosaur Laser Fight, amd Danny Don't you Know. Warning for lots of cursing, and plenty of raunchy jokes, but I loved listening to them get better over the past few years.
"Honeybee" by Steam Powered Giraffe (Spotify/Youtube). SPG band I've been following for a few years, though not as closely. Honeybee is one of my favorite love songs.
"Groceries" by Mallrat (spotify/youtube). This one's just a cute song about wanting to be spend time and be friends with someone you also happen to have a crush on.

5 no skip albums
i was tagged by @englishsub!! ty aiwen :)
💿 about u by MUNA — this is prob my number one no-skip....something about it just scratches the itch in my brain......honestly MUNA’s other two albums are mostly no-skips too
💿 be the cowboy by mitski — out of mitski’s discography this is prob the one i would consider a no-skip, although many of my fave songs of hers are on other albums!
💿 strange trails by lord huron — THEE gothic concept narrative album to end all gothic concept narrative albums....the way LH committed to the bit on this one.....this album has probably been consistently one of the most influential to me and i listened to it a LOT when it first came out during a really difficult time mental health-wise. lonesome dreams also fucks & has some of my favorite songs but is not what i would consider a no-skip
💿 ceremonials by florence + the machine — this album first ate my brain when i was like 17 like i was literally writing literary analysis papers about this album in high school. it remains so good
💿 st. cloud by waxahatchee — the lyricism in this one bends my brain and i have really fond spring memories associated w this album
honorable mentions: i have a lot! this is actually an EP but sarah kinsley’s cypress is sooo slept on and it’s so good omg. also both of hozier’s full-length albums, hayley heynderickx’s i need to start a garden, alt-j’s an awesome wave and maybe years & years’ communion.
tagging @doomcountry, @0tterp0p, @phneltwrites, @weirdsicko, @idrilka !

1. what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are? — 1) being a warrior cats kid with one friend i saw once a week in between science classes and we’d run around on our hands and knees and larp being warrior cats to the extent of memorizing the scripts for rites of passage 2) when my best friend of a decade didn’t even try to make it up to me when he destroyed our relationship. which was really followed by realizing that it doesn’t matter if i’m nice or an asshole. people who want to take advantage of me or be cruel will do so. so i might as well be painstakingly earnest and gentle 3) my brother’s love
38. fave song at the moment? — secret of life, by lord huron has been the go-to at the moment i get too anxious about thinking about favorites for some reason
pleasepleasepleaseplease send me an ask
#askbox games#had to go with the top three pivotal things off the top of my head because otherwise we’d be talking about the movie hotel for dogs and don#cheadle and my fathers abuse and my grandmothers garden. and we don’t have time for all that

Random thought of the day, I wish more artists did reprises on their albums, or repeating musical themes throughout like musicals do, makes me go feral (this thought has been sponsored by what a catch Donnie)
this is why i lost my entire mind at, "you were the sunshine of my lifetime, what would you trade the pain for? i'm not sure," opening and closing so much (for) stardust, the significance of that reprise and its emotional resonance echoing at both sides of the record makes the entire thing feel like a unified journey, like they've taken us with them through the story. what a catch is a beautiful example of that too (the reprises of so many of their previous songs being moving and almost triumphant, except you can tell there's this terrible sorrow in it, that there's a sense of an ending. i'm forever grateful it wasn't permanent!). it gives a narrative strength and theatricality to the music, which of course is why it's a necessary and employed device in musical theatre! i'd love to hear musicians use it a bit more too, it gets me every time.
edit: @deansmultitudes: i knew i was forgetting something, but lord huron's strange trails does this hauntingly, love like ghosts/meet me in the woods/the night we met all use the same melody to entirely different effect, and the whole thing is a concept album, one of my faves! idk how i've spaced it out so often lately, i've probably mentioned it before or you're familiar with it, but if not, i highly recommend it!
#harry's done it once really subtly in meet me in the hallway and sign of the times#in the melodies (just let me know i'll be at the door at the door -> we never learn we've been here before)#me a musical theatre slut: i'd love for mainstream musicians to use theatrical composition conventions sometimes as a little treat#no one is surprised#deansmultitudes#letterbox#the therapists pumping through your speakers#also polly this tells me you did indeed listen to folie today yaaaaaay ❤

songs that are so anderperry-coded. . . ♡
this version especially...
i could quote the whole song but here are my fave lines:
And then I can tell myself What the hell I'm supposed to do
I had all and then most of you Some and now none of you
mostly cute, also gut-wrenching at times. still obsessed
All I know for now is our bodies clutching tight Leaving wrinkles across your eyelids From the sheet that is our garden And I sincerely beg your pardon If I'll break your heart or if you will break mine
okay this one's gonna be long but i've been obsessed with this song since like march and i've just joined the DPS fandom and it's so anderperry. . . !
All my friends tell me I should move on I'm lying in the ocean, singing your song Ahh That's how you sang it
todd reading a midsummer night's dream out loud every night, always accompanied by hysterical sobbing and wailing that gets harder when neil's parts come up. . .
Loving you forever can't be wrong Even though you're not here, won't move on Ahh That's how we played it
todd wasn't going to be the same after neil, everybody knew. he became closer with the poets (and jeff, they had a heart-to-heart talk after jeff found out), yes, but with other people, he became even more closed off, not wanting to let people in, too scared of pain.
And there's no remedy for memory, your face is like a melody It won't leave my head Your soul is haunting me and telling me that everything is fine But I wish I was dead (dead, like you)
the poets never left todd alone that much post-neil (unpredictable, he was. better safe if ever). the times they did it was to give him space, or because it was physically impossible to be there with him. they take turns rooming with him at night, stolen bed sheets laid on the floor. they don't use neil's bed; it's sacred, it's to be left the same as it is before. todd's sobs synchronize with their soothing voices. and sometimes they start crying too, and that's when todd feels that he's not alone the most, ever since neil.
Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise No one compares to you I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side Every time I close my eyes, it's like a dark paradise No one compares to you I'm scared that you won't be waiting on the other side
todd's surrounding was suffocating. everything reminds him of neil neil neil neil neil. the door to their room, and every other room because their doors were identical. their room: on the first week, he slept on neil's bed, and then he slept on the floor for weeks until he felt okay enough to sleep on his own bed. if he closes his eyes hard enough, concentrates hard enough, he can hear himself and neil.
sorry it became a lyric analysis or whatever This is basically hyperfixation #1 + hyperfixation #2 it's great!!

okay okay okay. top 3 albums for summer? favourite book? favourite poem?
i love you <3
ok so. i'm not a party gay i'm a chill at the beach and go on hikes and get sunburnt at a cafe terrace while sipping a fruity little cocktail while i try to contain my third mental breakdown of the day gay. so my summer vibes are quite mellow. i'm gonna go with
when facing the things we turn away from by luke hemmings (lowkey favourite album of all time. this is more of a late august vibe)
strange trails by lord huron (this is my hiking album specifically)
heathers the musical soundtrack (for when i'm in a fun mood)
my favourite book used to be pride and prejudice but lowkey the raven cycle is becoming my fave. like maybe it's because it's the only thing i've read since high school but i really really love it. it's not one book though it's 4
it's so hard to pick a favourite poem!!!! but here are a few i really like off the top of my head, in no particular order:
grow up with me by keaton henson
song of myself by walt whitman (the do i contradict myself very well i contain multitudes quote is in part 51. i distinctly remember being smacked in the face with it the first time i read that)
roots like that by @evenupsidedownbeautifulsomehow
believe me, i'm lying! by @faithdeans (hi <3)
coward, south carolina by @croatstiel
a supermarket in california by allen ginsberg (i just find it comforting that i'm not the only one in a parasocial relationship with walt whitman)
#sorry this took me forever to answer i've been reading poems for the past hour lol#and you know what?#i skimmed through a few of my favourite poetry books#and genuinely my favourite of them all is poetry for fish by us#it's literally so good#better than a lot of classics#rain.asks#isaac tag 🌿
