#static speaks #ok it annoys me when youtubers dont put the name of the game in the title for two reasons #1. i just want to know what im watching before i get into it #2. if you're a massive youtuber playing a small indie game for an audience of millions. the least you can do is give them some visibility #we're in an age where popular youtube videos can make or break an indie game - look at fnaf bendy etc.#and dont get me started on titles like 'THE NEW FNAF' bc it completely wipes away any individual identity the game was going for #and makes your audience think its fnaf ripoff cash grab number 10000 #most egregious example i can think of is nearly a decade old but i remember once seeing razzbowski post a video called #'the new hello neighbor'. he was playing bendy and the ink machine. literally what #anyway. end rant.

The amount of criticism and hate the wottg book is getting makes me scared to like it bc it feels like if I do then I’m doing something wrong😅

#i let my guard down #i should have known #like really i should know better by now lmao #that's probably the best depiction of prosopagnosia i've seen in fiction ngl #also luo//men's suggestion re: using other attributes to tell people apart??#A++ approach what a guy #mine isn't nearly as severe but i totally use footsteps/gait/mannerisms as my primary means of distinguishing people #the very few people i care about i can definitely recognize by facial features #and people i see frequently; though i do have trouble recognizing them if they appear in a context i'm not used to #like. if i were to see one of my sword classmates at my workplace for instance i would have trouble recognizing them #but anyone else? forget it #the most difficult part of working veterinary front desk was returning animals to their owners #bc even though i could have /just/ spoken with the owners like. ten minutes ago #i couldn't tell you which animal belonged to which owner #faces just don't register with me #dogs were easier in that i'd just let them lead me to their owners #but if it was a cat in a carrier i was fucked lmaooo #it's why if there was another receptionist working i'd let them handle any hand offs XDD #i don't remember most of my childhood but i have some very vivid impressions of moments like #my mother asking me to go give a cash tip to the hairdresser who did her hair and me being unable to pick who it was out #of everyone that was working even though i'd been there with them for two plus hours.#or like. taking the school bus home and being unable to recognize my bus monitor and so getting on the wrong bus #and also getting ridiculed about this by my parents lol. ah good times.#on the other hand i can easily recognize a dog i've met once or twice even years later. and remember their name.#i think it all mostly comes down to disinterest for me. i've tried to change this but it's just how i am #so. he's very relatable. painfully so #also the pragmatism and rationality and hyperfixating on things.#i've never hyperfixated on another person tho and i am so grateful for that every single day #i know in my bones it would be an absolute disaster XD #withoutwords

in general i roll my eyes at people who complain about all the new quality of life improvements in modern pokémon games bc inconvenience and genuine challenge are two very different things. but the one thing i would definitely agree on that i don’t like in sv is the ability to access your pc boxes any time. it sort of cheapens the experience of having to carefully choose which six pokémon you’re taking before venturing into unknown danger. like i don’t think you should be able to catch a pokémon in the depths of area zero and immediately put it in your party i think you gotta be loyal to whoever you took initially. it’s about being forced to have a plan for all outcomes

#like you can switch your pokémon in the middle of the elite 4… be so real #personally i never did in either of those situations #sv being the first game i played (that had a pokémon league i mean) i didn’t know about the whole type specialist thing #not that i would’ve been able to tell what type those ppl were anyway #but in any case i was like well might as well just stick with my same loyal 6 right #pokémon #sv #in a similar vein i’m kinda unsure about how i feel about being able to remember moves anytime #i think if i could change it i would make it so that you could freely swap moves *at any pokémon center*#like remembering new moves is free but only at certain locations #although one could argue that’s just introducing slight inconvenience without making it more difficult #bc you can fast travel to those places any time #but i guess it would hit you in like area zero #idk #maybe i’d make it so you can do it on the go anytime but it does cost something #but instead of rare difficult (or just plain annoying) once per day items like heart scales #have it be either plain old cash or like. some significantly easier item #idk. the convenience is super nice on that one. but it is kinda weird that it would be so easy to get your pokémon to get its moves back

#currently on the worst road trip of my whole entire life! well. i don't want to jinx it lmao but #today i popped TWO TIRES at once in the middle of the Katy Freeway in Houston TX (the widest highway in the US; 26 lanes btw)#managed to make it over to the shoulder without DYING but then had to sit there for like an hour? and panic called a tow truck because duh #I know how to change a tire but I was – again – sitting on the shoulder of the widest freeway on the continent so #anyway I called a tow; a guy showed up. I assumed it was the tow! turned out it was not. but he helped me put on the spare and then was lik #“follow me to my shop I can do the tires for you” and I was like okay! 👍 but then the ACTUAL tow called me and I realized this was #just a random guy (very nice up to that point but then I got scared about following him to a secondary location?) and so I didn't lmao #I just kept driving and didn't follow him but the guy on the phone was then mad at me because I wasn't where I said I would be because #AGAIN – I thought the original guy WAS the tow company that I called? but anyway guy 2 on the phone was like “YOU OWE ME $200!!!!”#and I said for what? also how would I pay you? and he tried to get me to cash app him lmao?? I didn't. I hung up on him #he called me like 6 more times yelling at me until I finally just blocked his number 💀#however NOW at this point I'm driving on one spare tire and one rapidly-flattening second tire and I still have 3 hours left to get where #I was going for the night and to top it all off I'm in the middle of a city I've only been to one time before? so I manage to get to a hote #like a nice-ish one where I'm like “okay if I get stuck here this won't be the end of the world”#because keep in mind today is a national holiday so basically everything is closed!!!! btw!!!!!#but eventually I'm sitting there and it's literally 100F outside and I remember oh right lol I have car insurance which pays for a tow #(a normal one; not a random one I panic-found on google who calls me screaming at me to cash app him $200)#so anyway I call my insurance and the guy on the phone is very nice and is like “it's okay; we'll have someone to you in 45 min”#and I'm like okay. OKAY. 🙌💪 I am a strong independent woman who is figuring this out and no longer on the side of the highway #but instead in a nice calm neighborhood and all I have to do is wait 45 min and everything will be okay #one hour goes by. I call back. get redirected to the tow company that was dispatched. guy says oh! is my guy not there yet?#I say no. he says okay – I'll have him call you. hangs up.#okay. 20 more min go by. guy finally calls me. says “I'm 20-25 min away” at this point I've been waiting about an hour and a half #I say. okay? okay. 30 more minutes go by. I try to call the guy back. straight to voicemail. three more calls. three more no answers.#I call my insurance back. sit on hold for 15 min. eventually get put through to a different person who's like “okay let me check on him”#get put on hold. eventually she comes back and says “okay he says 15 minutes” I've been waiting over 2 hours at this point. I have to PEE #I just... burst into tears. on the phone with this poor random woman from Geico Insurance. I'm bawling my eyes out.#she was trying to get claim info from me but I'm crying so hard she's like “oh baby no. okay. okay. we can get that from you tomorrow.”#when you cry so hard that even the insurance company is like “you know what we're just going to let this one slide”#anyway guy eventually shows up. he's very nice even though I hate him a little for being so late. he drives me to an OPEN TIRE SHOP

also as a society plagued by wealth inequality and rising cost of living we really need to address how we show love through money. like I offered to come over to help them decorate their new house so many times and they kept refusing me 😞 I wanted to help them paint! but noooooooo

#like I get it she's a control freak and she just wanted her husband to do the painting #but I dunno it's like. that is something i would have enjoyed doing and I'd rather do twenty different odd jobs around your new house #than scroll an amazon registry #and I get that I should just shut up and fork over the cash and just accept it gracefully ...#and to be very clear that is what I am doing. that is what I did. I already ordered an item off their registry.#but I dunno I just wish there was a way to show a sense of community outside of money #can't bring them food because she has gestationaldiabetes and has to watch her diet and idk what she can eat #can't help them set uo their house because she was being a control freak about it #can't watch the baby once theyre born for her because I don't know how to do that (lol)#can't come over and clean for her once the baby is here because she already told me she doesnt want ppl doing that #so instead I just have to stare at my budget knowing that the money is almost inconsequential to them but precious to me #and just have to decide how cheap I can stretch my grocery budget to compensate #I just hate how this is the only venue I am given to like. support my friend through pregnancy. anyways.#it's not about me whatever yeah yeah but if I'm so goddamn gracious and understanding and compassionate and caring IRL I need somewhere to #come vent my dark bitter underbelly thoughts. and that is tumblr dot com.
