Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
If you're allergic to NSAIDs/Toradol (especially Toradol), the medic will think you're drug-seeking and you won't get pain control.
If you have called the ambulance before in the last month or so, the medic will think you're malingering and you won't get pain control.
If you're yelling and screaming and writhing around in pain, the medic will be annoyed and you won't get pain control.
If you are stoic, the medic will think you're not in that much pain and you won't get pain control.
If you ask for pain meds, then the medic will see this as proof positive that you are drug-seeking, and you won't get any pain control.
If you don't ask for pain meds, the medic will assume you don't need any, which is good because starting lines and pulling drugs and documenting med administration is hard, and the hospital will probably give you something anyway (maybe, after a long delay), and you won't get any pain control.
If your pain is chronic and flaring up, the medic will think (wrongly) that the pain control protocol only covers acute pain and you won't get pain control.
If you are being picked up at a jail or a prison, forget it (and lord help you if you have a serious illness in general).
If you're street homeless, forget it.
If you have a history of substance use, you're screwed.
Well gee, Kit, you say, then who the heck does get pain control in the ambulance?
Really gnarly trauma patients. Large burns, visibly broken bones, people who resemble raw hamburger meat.
But in general, no one else reliably gets pain control.
It is terrible. We are terrible about treating pain prehospital (and in hospitals).
If it's happened to you, I'm sorry, and it's not your fault.
…..too late 😬…..Now, I am usually pretty good at keeping my balance…..I mean, I am renowned for regularly picking up miscellaneous minor injuries like cuts and bruises and stuff like that, but nothing too bad, but a few weeks back, rushing in the rain, I slipped on some steps and went down like a Sesame Street baker…..
…..and usually I can steady myself and recover quickly but I went down quite hard, and I guess being a bit older I just don’t bounce like I used to…..so I just lay there in the wet, assessing the situation…..and trying to figure out if anything was broken…..and asking myself what just happened…..
…..I really hate that feeling, you know you’re going down and there’s nothing you can do about it…..as for @loveaxiomatic being stable…..well, I know she’s very steady on her feet…..unless, of course she finds the whiskey 😵💫…..
….. you know what’s next…..a playlist inspired by me falling down some steps…..mostly songs about stairs, steps, or falling…..and that kind of thing…..
albo has covid and i honestly hope the bastard gets long covid so that he may finally start taking this fuckign pandemic seriously and reinstate covid protections
world economic forum meeting this past january january & st. petersburg international economic forum tomorrow. wow I love how the rich get free PCR tests and how it’s literally mandatory to attend their fancy events because they won’t take any chances getting covid. love how ordinary people are fine and have nothing to worry about though
every time I see people on twitter like 'ugh I am so sick all the time idk why!' and 'wow I have this wicked cough that's making me almost throw up weird guess it's a cold!' I'm just like
I’m determined to watch both PSG and Liverpool play at the same time tomorrow. Stay tuned for results bc TRUST I will see all my pookie bears kick a ball for 90 minutes stressed out of their minds with no will to live bc hahah same!
I'll give eight main things to do that I think are really important at this point ~
1. If you have covid, please quarantine to the best of your ability until you test negative. You are still contagious as long you are testing positive, not just the first five days.
2. If you have covid, please try to get in touch with everyone you've had contact with the past 5 days and let them know. This lets them take appropriate precautions around the other folks in their lives.
3. Once you're testing negative again, be careful not to overexert yourself. Listen to your body; if, after exertion, you find symptoms returning (eg fever, lots of fatigue) that means you overdid it and should scale back. Be very cautious about returning to full activity level. This is to prevent post-exertional malaise as a symptom of long covid.
4. If you've been exposed to covid, assume you're a question mark and possibly-covid-positive for the first five days after exposure. Let folks that you're spending time with know about your exposure before getting together, so they can choose their risk level in terms of if they're comfortable spending time with you, if they want you to wear a mask, if they want to wear a mask, etc.
5. If you have symptoms or have been exposed to covid, wear a mask in public. This should be KN-95, N-95, or KF-94 level quality, not a cloth or surgical mask.
6. If you're having symptoms, or have been exposed to covid, and *especially* if both - remember that tests right at the beginning have a high rate of false negatives. When I had covid, I tested negative on both rapid and PCR tests my first two days of having symptoms. It wasn't until the third day, when I no longer even had a fever but just cold symptoms, that I finally tested positive. Please don't just test the day after exposure and assume you're fine.
7. If you haven't gotten this year's booster shot yet, go get it ASAP.
8. Even if you're not symptomatic and haven't been exposed, strongly consider wearing a mask again in public places like stores and transit, and at larger/more crowded gatherings.
Remember, people have a variety of risk tolerances, for a variety of reasons. Some folks are immunocompromised so their vaccine doesn't protect them as well as yours protects you. Some people have conditions that increase the chances of a severe case. Some people can't risk long covid because of existing disabilities and precarious life situations. Some people are not high-risk themselves but have regular contact with folks who are. These folks all deserve to be able to keep themselves safe and make choices about the level of covid risk in their lives.
The Jaxen Report About Possible Bird Flu Pandemic and How Vaccine Makers Are Preparing Bird Flu Shot for Humans “Just in Case” and remember what the PCR test is about. It won't tell you have anything unless it's amped up and then it tells you that you could have anything. That's according to Dr. Kerri Mullis the inventor of the PCR. 🤔
THREE negative covid tests but whatever I have I still can't smell/taste anything :( if the girlies have any remedies that might help clear me up I'd love to know!!
The PCR test for COVID-19 using a nasal swab is reliable and accurate. Positive results indicate the presence of the COVID-19 virus. If your COVID-19 test is negative, you probably did not have it. Get tested for COVID-19 if you have the symptoms or have had contact with someone who does.

the usage of different types of english in elden ring
most human/tarnished NPCs we meet, like rogier, ansbach, and nepheli, use late modern english:
"a sorcerer, as you might have guessed. i'm looking for a little something, here in the castle. when i'm not hotfooting it from the troops, that is." - rogier, first meeting
"general radahn. a pleasure to see you, after all this time. but those remains do not belong to you." - ansbach, upon summon for PCR
but older demigods like messmer, ranni, and morgott use early modern english:
"thou'rt tarnished, it seemeth. mother, wouldst thou truly lordship sanction, in one so bereft of light? yet… my purpose standeth unchanged." - messmer, pre-battle cutscene
"thou needst not indulge them unduly, but they too wish to appraise thy worth. it hath been a passing long time since a newcomer entered my service, after all." - ranni, after agreeing to serve her
then there are the younger demigods, like miquella, malenia, and potentially melina, who use a later variant of modern english, similar to the tarnished NPCs we speak to:
"if we honour our part of the vow, promise me you'll be my consort. i'll make the world a gentler place." - miquella, post-PCR cutscene
"the scarlet bloom flowers once more. you will witness true horror. now, rot!" - malenia, phase 2 transition cutscene
finally, the hornsent NPCs like the hornsent, hornsent grandam, and the hornsent spirits such as the one outside the whipping hut, who use late middle english similar to the english found in shakespeare's sonnets:
"fie, another? ... then, as that woman would surely say, we are in our purposes well aligned. but understand. your kind are not forgiven. the erdtree is my people's enemy. by marika long betray'd, set aflame." - hornsent, first meeting
"all your resentment lingers yet... the raw stuff from which i shall surely forge a curse. upon the dastard messmer's head. upon marika's children each and all." - scorched ruins hornsent spirit
i find it interesting how different the usage of english is in the game, and i feel that it can be a hint on how to properly date an individual's occupation in the lands between/land of shadow. the hornsent, being a people much older than many in the lands between, use the most archaic version of english, while the tarnished and younger demigods use a form of english more closely related to our own in the current period. older demigods (and marika herself, as heard from melina's recounts of marika's spoken echoes) use a form of english more closely related to the period of transition from middle english to early modern english.
additionally, another interesting thing to me: mohg is almost certainly nearly the same age as morgott (since they're referred to as twins), yet he speaks a little differently compared to morgott:
"tarnished, thou'rt but a fool." - morgott, post-battle dialogue
"dearest miquella. you must abide alone a while." - mohg, pre-battle cutscene
this makes me wonder if it's possible that, assuming that miquella's verbiage is indicative of his younger age in comparison to the older demigods (aka the demigods born before the marika/radagon union), miquella's charm altered mohg's perception enough to also alter his manner of speaking and carrying himself in some way. if his pursuit of finery (dressing in embroidered robes and handling himself with poise, juxtaposing his bestial growls and strength) was mainly done in an effort to fit into miquella's ideal of a consort. of course, mohg could just be as vain as he seems to be all on his own accord, but i find that it's interesting to entertain the idea that even his current state of being was due to miquella's charm.
i'd love to hear what others think about this. i'm not very learned when it comes to english (it's not really my first language), but i find this all very cool to think about.
