A Knightmare in the Underworld: No fighting on the Train
[Prev] - [Next]
[First]
As the train moves on Axe Knight tries to keep the mood steady, pointing out notable locations to Meta Knight as they appear and explaining things along with Blood Knight. Meanwhile Papi just watches the situation disgruntled, only occasionally chiming in with an addition or correction if an explanation seems particularly off to him. Both of the other underworld warriors laugh it off, especially Blood Knight.
"I swear Papi isn't always like that. He's actually a really nice kid, it's just that he really really hates me."
"Everything goes wrong whenever you're involved. The pattern doesn't lie."
"At least I am involved."
Both Axe Knight and Blood Knight begin to laugh heartily. Not even Meta Knight can resist a chuckle, meanwhile Papi's expression darkens even further. Instead of engaging with the insult he looks outside the window to see for how much longer he has to endure the company of these knights.
"Stop at the next station. We'll have to go on foot from there on out."
At that moment a light in the upper corner of the train's dashboard begins to shine and a monitor displays the name of a station. Blood Knight takes a look at it while addressing Papi.
"Looks like we're gonna stop there anyway. Someone ordered a ride."
He tabs the monitor to switch to a different screen which shows a camera recording of the station and is immediately met with a close up of Morpho Knight's face. Holding back a laugh he turns to his guests pointing at the screen.
"Oh, it's… You know. The one we're looking for."
Papi moans, rolling his eyes annoyed about the waste of time he just experienced. Axe Knight chuckles while Meta Knight tilts his head in confusion.
"That I did not expect from them."
"Morpho and I have known one another for a very long time. We're comfortable enough with each other to be silly like that."
"I see. It's like with my crew."
Upon hearing these words from his boss Axe Knight almost explodes from happiness, he can hardly hide his excitement. Papi, still sitting next to him, begins to slowly move away in dismay.
Meanwhile Blood Knight has his eyes on the upcoming station and notices Morpho Knight waiting, however, unexpectedly, they are not alone. Next to them stands Galacta Knight, the Greatest Warrior in the Galaxy!
"That's Galacta Knight. Galacta Knight is with Morpho Knight."
"Galacta Knight is here!?"
He mutters, followed by all three of his guests. Blood Knight brings the train to a halt at the station shortly after and opens the door for the two ancient warriors. Both enter, Morpho Knight smiling at Blood Knight warmly at first greeting him, yet upon noticing Meta Knight they immediately turn hostile and draw their sword.
Galacta Knight jumps into a corner with a flap of his wings and holds up his shield defensively. Without hesitation Meta Knight lets his cape fall back and draws his treasured sword Galaxia from within it to counterattack. As the two swords clash Papi withdraws his own weapon, a nasty looking mace and attempts to swing it in Meta Knight's direction only to be met with Axe Knight's axe.
"NO FIGHTING IN THE TRAIN!!"
"NO FIGHTING ON MY FUCKING TRAIN!!!"
With sudden brute force Blood Knight pushes Morpho Knight out the door using his water ability to help wash them outside the vehicle. The lighter warrior had no choice but to leave the train immediately. At the same time Axe Knight kicks Papi with full power and he as well gets washed out before he can react. Immediately after Blood Knight pulls a lever that shuts the train's doors and additional water is shot from the train's sides to push the two butterfly warriors further away.
The train begins to pick up speed leaving both Papi and Morpho Knight in the mud. The remaining warriors look at each other with heavy breathing. Axe Knight points at Galacta Knight dramatically shouting.
"We found Galacta Knight! Mission successful!"
To that Galacta Knight does a little victory dance akin to Kirby's classic dances with his hands in the air.
"I have been found! What does that mean, though?"
Meta Knight shakes his head in dismay with Galaxia still in his hand.
"That was only one of our goals. I also meant to ask Morpho Knight why they attacked Magolor, Marx and I at The Divine Terminus. Admittedly I should have expected them to be hostile towards me once again."
Then Blood Knight points at him still trying to figure out the situation in his head.
"You! You acted in self-defence!"
"Yes?"
"Great. This is how I'll justify this to Morpho Knight."
He then turns back to his dashboard to check in on the current status. At the same time Axe Knight sits back down followed by Meta Knight and then Galacta Knight. The skull-faced warrior shrugs even though he himself had been concerned for a moment.
"Morpho Knight and Papi both know as well as you and me that fighting is forbidden in here. Lord Meta Knight, however, didn't and is therefore excused."
"Sounds about right."
Blood Knight nods while watching his monitors in an attempt to catch a glimpse of Morpho Knight in the camera footage with no success.
"You see, this used to happen a lot and the train has derailed because of that far more often than I wanna think about. I began to insist on a no-fighting rule in here, anyone who doesn't follow this rule gets kicked out immediately."
"I've been in here while it happened one time. It was almost as bad as that one time the Halberd crashed."
Axe Knight nods along approving of every word his old friend says. The remaining two warriors listen carefully before addressing one another, starting with Galacta Knight.
"Last time we met, when you were travelling with that noddy and the halcandran, what happened?"
"Morpho Knight… absorbed you and then attacked us. We defeated them, but you didn't reappear. We were worried about you, Galacta Knight. I should be the one to ask what happened."
"Apparently Morpho Knight brought me here to fight someone or something. Typical."
To that Blood Knight joins the conversation again.
"Dark Nebula. A negative Matterborn, Darksouldream hybrid. If you guys don't mind I'll bring us there and we quickly take care of them so Morpho has less reason to be mad on us and then I'll bring you all back to the overworld. Deal?"
"Deal."
Everyone agrees, eager to get this whole thing over with. The pressure of the Underworld lays heavy on both the souls of Meta Knight and Galacta Knight, neither wishing to stay for longer than they need to.

Lily Orchard is stupid but what else is new?
So recently Lily has made a challenge that is as follows:
(Keep these rules in mind)
And AntGr and CrimsonEnder made a list of 50 of those charcters. Which Lily responded to and hoo boy is it bad.
Now I'm only going to be doing several characters from this list because 1. I don't know some of these characters and 2. I can only handle so much of Lily's stupidity. So with that out of the way let's get this show on the road.
Of course you'd put N here because you didn't understand his story to begin with. N definitely does fall under number 2 because he was raised by Ghetsis. You know... THE LEADER OF TEAM PLASMA! I've said this before, but I'll say it again N essentially grew up in a cult. That's not even mentioning that in black and white 2 they show that some of Team Plasma really did think they were freeing pokemon. You see part of Team Plasma split because some followed N's ideologies and others followed Ghetsis. They have a whole safehouse in Driftveil City where they protect pokemon separated from their trainers. But yeah N's ideology was totally swept under the rug guys.
First of all, Donkey Kong was actually a villain. It was in his very first game where he kidnapped Pauleen. You know.... this one. You were probably around when it came out Lily.:
So technically Donkey Kong is qualified for this list believe it or not.
As for Dedede and Meta Knight their case is quite simple.
In Dedede's case in the game Kirby's Nightmare In Dreamland. Dedede literally breaks the Star Rod that powers the Fountain of Dreams. Which allows the people of dreamland to have dreams, but since the Star Rod no longer powers it there's no dreams. However Dedede did this because he was trying to keep Nightmare from absorbing the Fountain Of Dream's power and taking over the world. Nightmare is cosmic deity that's evil will destroy Dreamland if he got out. So in that instance Dedede does have a point. After all if the Star Rod isn't in the fountain then Nightmare won't come out and kill everyone.
As for Meta Knight's case. Well... just look at fucking Meta Knightmare. The reason why Meta Knight wants to conquer Dreamland is because Dreamland is lazy. While that might not seem like a good point, consider that Dedede is stealing food from the people and how there's some sort of cosmic threat every year or so. You kinda start to see his point a little bit. But if that doesn't work then how about in Squeak Squad where he steals the chest from Kirby and Daroach. The chest had Dark Nebula inside of it and was sealed away. Therefore having someone try and open it would be a big fucking problem.
Last but not least... Edgeworth:
Before we get into why this point is bullshit I'd like to bring up this ask:
I bring this up because it proves that Lily doesn't know what the fuck she's talking about. You see Edgeworth isn't just a state prosecutor. HE'S A CHIEF PROSECUTOR! He's not just some joe shmo. Also really, prosecutor can't be evil? May I call Manfred Von Karma to the stand:
In case you don't know. This man is a prosecutor that had a perfect record. All of his defendants were served the guilty sentence. However the only reason why they were found guilty was because he forged evidence. Meaning Manfred is responsible for putting people innocent in prison. He even went so far as to murder Edgeworth's father. And guess who was his protege?
That's right none other than Miles Edgeworth himself!
Meaning that up till Phoenix had arrived Edgeworth was doing the exact same thing Von Karma did. Granted not forging evidence, but still putting innocent people in jail because of he wanted to keep his reputation and he didn't care for justice. Therefore in the first game Edgeworth was the villain. Whether you like it or not. And because Lily never specified that the villain had to be redeemed or not Edgeworth is viable enough to be on this list. So check fucking mate Lily.

Where is dark meta knight in this au?
When planning out Dark Meta Knight, I wanted to give him a proper reason to join "Star Allies..." It never sat right with me; there needed to be a better reason, not only that I wanted to make him integral to Meta Knight's character growth...And his character intertwined with Shadow Kirby... so he'll be mentioned as well.
KBASW'S Meta Knight (sealed his power) before the events of the anime (the reason why he can't fly), so guess who had his power sealed up as well... Dark Meta Knight. He wasn't simply sealing off his power this was a "painful experience." And he is absolutely pissed... BEING ASHAMED OF THE RAW GODLY POWER HE POSSES. Like Meta Knight... Dark Meta Knight couldn't use his magic or wings for YEARS, gutted that he had to endure these years of suffering.
(DMK very much serves as an unexpected consequence of MK locking away his powers...)
Shortly after (the events of Knightmare's End), Dark Meta Knight decided that he wanted to permanently separate from his counterpart. He didn't want his actions to be dictated by his weak reflection. He is very much obsessed with becoming the real one & becoming his own person instead of his reflection.
He can't trust Meta Knight...HE HATES BEING A REFLECTION IN GENERAL! His actions will always be dependent on him, and he must separate himself from Meta Knight. (It was at this point Dark developed a bad habit of blaming MK for everything negative thing that happened to him.
(I kinda mixed "The Amazing Mirror & Tripple Delux" plot lines together in this both are happening at the same time)
Of course, Dark Meta Knight is thwarted, but Meta Knight genuinely feels guilty for putting his mirror counterpart through the same pain he endured. This whole incident makes Meta Knight realize how little he values & takes of himself. (Basically, that's his lesson for his arc. via mirror reflection...)
Dark Meta Knight, however, isn't done in the story.... during this whole debacle, he doesn't take into account someone really important: Shadow Kirby.
Despite all of this... Dark Meta Knight actually has a deep care for Shadow Kirby. However, in a very tough love type of way and unlike Meta Knight, who learns to put his walls down & isn't afraid to show a more vulnerable & affectionate side to him... Dark Meta Knight just can't put his pride & ego aside. (SK & DMK's relationship is similar to that of Rick & Morty.)
This is why Shadow Kirby assists Kirby in helping stop Dark Meta Knight (because he didn't want Dark Meta Knight to leave him... </3). However, this does lead the Dark Meta Knight to lash out at Shadow Kirby and blame him for not being able to leave the Mirror World resulting in him ignoring Shadow Kirby...
Failing to see the bigger picture, Shadow Kirby just didn't want to be "ABANDONED!" (This was what he was basically doing, selfishly not realizing all the people he was going to leave behind for power & independence...)
Resulting in Dark Meta Knight conjuring a colossal mistake all his own, no one to blame but himself...I'm not ready to reveal Shadow Kirby's characterization just yet, but unfortunately for Dark... Shadow isn't as forgiving as Kirby. And plays right into Morgan's hands... helping comfort the lonely and vulnerable Shadow.
But even when Dark runs to save Shadow, it's far too late...
And this will be the last time Dark Meta Knight sees Shadow Kirby the way he is now...
Morgan's the one warped Shadow Kirby's body to its current state... basically to his current design... (first said here). At this point, you can probably understand why Dark Meta Knight is more than willing to join Star Allies...
Thank you for the question and perfect timing I've been dying to reveal this. This really started out as a way to "explain" game lore into the story when I was originally started, but I love how it turned out. Thanks again I hope you enjoyed the post.

meta knightmare headcanon #2
"From the moment you granted it free will, you knew it was inevitable that it would spring into rebellion eventually."
"You're far more powerful. You could have stopped it as it began... but why didn't you?"
~
redesigned this thang after 5 years my sanity is healing, followup from my last post bout it
a few notes about the design you may or may not find particularly interesting!
The stripe pattern on his wings was heavily inspired by something that scared me as a child . One day, I had seen an eerie pattern of black lines had formed on the sides of an old wooden dollhouse I used to have that were not there before . While drawing this, I thought of it, so I included it .
Let me cook here---the wings themselves are references to jaws of Venus flytrap plants, and they are functionally like them too, so he could eat someone with his wings O_O
When colored, the jewel on his mask is the same as the jewel on Nightmare's pendant

Once again, my ask box is so packed that I'm bundling a few of these so I don't have to take up everyone's day/dashboard with posts!
This time:
-The Fate of Mirror Galacta Knight -Traitor Magolor vs Elfilis?! -Kirby from Undertale?! (Silly) -Other Characters Babysitting 10 Kirbys -Magolor and Daroach Thievery Dynamics -A Redemption Arc for Zero?! -The Love-Love Stick is The Best
Anon, your concept that there WAS a Mirror Galacta Knight but that they were defeated - perhaps by Galacta themselves - is awesome!! I think the concept that either one or both Galacta's maybe even has a goal to see the other versions of themselves destroyed, pre- or post-sealing, feels very in character for Gala. Perhaps Gala knows of the Dimensional Mirror and doesn't like the concept of falling prey to it. Perhaps Gala truly does seek power and will only be confident in themselves when they are THE only one. Or perhaps they see what's coming and want to stop themselves from banishment and imprisonment across countless dimensions.
As for Galacta borrowing something in memory of his mirror self.. why not, right?! I think that's very cool! Aeon hero is able to turn their wings black and change his armor. It's not out of the realm of possibility! (Nothing is too fanfiction-y to have as a HC! Because neither headcanons or fanfic is something to be ashamed of! So please, indulge in all the fanfic-y thoughts that you wish!)
As for the last part, I totally believe that Magolor saw or encountered Galacta Knight at some point. (I always thought it would be funny myself if the first time Magolor is made aware of Gala is the Lor recording a snipped of Galacta's battle with Meta Knight in the Meta Knightmare Returns. You know, that easter egg where you can sometimes see the Starcutter in the background when Gala attacks? And so Magolor is going through the logs and notices, "Wait, was that a dimensional rift we just passed by? Whoa! Who's the dude who looks like an angry Kirby fighting Meta Knight?! ...Wait, weren't there legends of someone like that in those old texts?")
--
@a-stardusted-sky
Ahh, thank you so much for the birthday wishes and the nice compliments! I hope you're having a lovely day yourself!
OMG, Traitor Magolor vs Fecto Elfilis in the battle of the big, self-important egos! I can't help but think that even though Magolor ought to have "unlimited power" thanks to the Master Crown, he feels a little limited in creative ways to use that power. Whereas Elfilis would probably have no end of ways to use their dimensional power to ruin Magolor's day! They're both super persistent though, so I imagine neither one would want to give an inch.
As for how Elfilis would react, I imagine those choice words would get even spicier upon seeing Magolor flitting around with the Master Crown. Honestly, if Elfilis has enough of an understanding of the powers made from THEIR power, they could simply toy with Magolor knowing that all they have to do is damage/overload the Crown and then just leave Magolor a gloopy mess.
Is it just me? Sometimes I think of Elfilis as one of those characters that doesn't even have WORDS when they get angry. I think their speech in Lab Discovera was somewhat practiced, and that the capsule had something of a restraining effect on their emotions. Whenever they're free, they're mostly seen roaring and wrathing at people (in contrast to the angelic beauty of their completed form.)

@emeraldcoloredwinter
Not that shocking...!
Pictured: A Peaceful Family Reunion?!
(PS: are there still proponents of the theory that Sans is Ness grown up or was that exactly the kind of theory we make fun of Game Theories for now? I'm so out of the loop...!)
...But also, does that make Gaster Dark Matter? Or some other form of Matter? (...Stop! You shouldn't ask questions you aren't remotely equipped to handle the potential response to, Dess...!!)
--
This is a concept that I absolutely love! And it's been explored so little from what I've seen?! There's that one, err, somewhat infamous(?!) animation series which... ah, congrats on them for putting in all that work to get it done, and I won't say anything negative about them including content that appeals to them personally when, from what I've seen, everything manages to stay in the proper rating. Plus, making a full animation series has got to be SUCH an endeavor that you likely need to write/draw what you love to keep yourself motivated/sane in order to finish but...it's not personally for me. ^^
(Reminds me a bit too much of some of the western animation of my childhood that I wasn't too fond of. Aka, the reason I pivoted to watching anime as soon as I had the chance. ^^; )
BUT that aside, I've also seen some cute fanart on Twitter and such of Magolor not babysitting the 10 Kirbys but commenting on them...and then trying to steal one or two of them while no one is looking to keep for the sake of teasing on his own!
But yes, the idea of other caretakers is rich!
I personally think, in an adventure scenario like Mass Attack, Magolor would have a great time "accidentally" misleading the Kirbys into non-lethal traps, just to see how they fare. Marx would absolutely be a pest to the mini Kirbys! I think, when the chips are down, he would defend them (Kirby is HIS to torment, after all!!) but in times of relative peace, he'd probably try to eat a few... just to see...
The Animal Friends are used to backing up Kirby and would step into the role with no problem. I think Rick would love to ferry the tiny Kirbys around, them clinging to his fur. I think Ribbon's reaction to the 10 tiny Kirbys could be very funny, although that probably depends on where you fall on shipping the two of them.
Meta Knight would be another one who would be really fun/zany for different reasons. I think he would initially TRY to be stoic and treat the 10 Kirbys as if they were as reliable on their own as regular Kirby but then the moment something happens to one of them (even if they ARE in fact okay) his stoic facade breaks and he becomes a nervous wreck/helicopter guardian mode!
The Mage Sisters feel like they would cover the whole spectrum of reactions! Francisca wanting to "keep" some for herself. Flamberge wanting to test how strong they are and laughing when they turn out to be only 1/10th the original Kirby's power. Zan being the one who just... can't stop being ~SHOOKETH~ about the whole thing. (And the fact that Flam and Fran won't stop giggling about the minis!)
Dark Meta Knight would probably swoop them up and them drop them on Shadow Kirby to deal with. Susie would probably be a relatively reliable helper, keeping in touch via her tech whenever any trouble shows... in exchange for the rights to merchandise the mini-Kirbys after everything is over. >w<

@icedragonlizard
Hee! I got around to reading some of your dynamics posts, by the way! They're really good! (I still have more to read through yet!) But yes! This is super cute! Especially since both their tastes lean toward the collection of the ancient... and dangerous!
It's absolutely one of those things where one or the other will be proudly talking about their latest haul/salvage and the moment they have their eyes turned, the other is walking out the door with it!
Neither means the other any harm, so it doesn't hurt their friendship any. But there is absolutely a twinge of jealousy.
"H-How did you...?! But... but... I've been looking for that EVERYWHERE!" "Looks like you were looking in the wrong places."
Everyone else is probably relieved by this strange dynamic they've got because it keeps most of the rest of THEIR collections safe!
--
Hmm, you know, I'm not certain that Zero as they are COULD have a redemption arc. They feel too... primordial for that. As if they are nothing more than the incarnation of what they can become, which renders them nil (fufu...) to change.
But Zero 2.... yes. I think there's room there. I think Zero 2 is a lot like Void in that they are searching for identity after their destruction and resultant... rebirth? (Or simply the act of living on in a new form? Zero 2 is such a fascinating mystery!)
But I think about the fact that while Zero's theme is just mystery and weirdness and fight music, Zero 2's theme is so... sad.
(Btw, I listened to Man on the Internet's Zero 2 with lyrics recently and really liked it. It had this great feeling of... inevitability to it? I'm typically a bit mixed on Kirby boss themes (:cough: I haven't yet found a Marx one I like though I really like some of the lyrical motifs in Itoki Hana's version :cough:) but I liked this one.)
Anyway, as for Zero 2's redemption, I think it would all tie back to the fairies, really. Zero 2 spent pretty much the entire length of the game possessing the Queen of Ripple Star and I'm one of those "you can't really possess someone/be possessed by someone without that having an effect on you. For both the possessor and the possessed."
And whether or not the Queen is one of the heroes of lore, we have reason to believe she is both a being of power and a powerful being for good. (Why else would Dark Matter target Ripple Star FIRST without getting near Popstar? Well, getting their non-existent tail kicked might have something to do with it! XD )
So basically, I imagine that either Zero 2 picked up...something from the Queen or that the Queen might take it upon herself to preserve some form of Zero 2. To give it a chance to redeem itself. Surely, this would wig out certain of the fairies, who still remember their home's invader, and I imagine Zero 2 to be something that would probably have a very hard time understanding the difference between doing good and doing evil - only that one gets praised and one doesn't.
They might never be able to understand. They might never be able to be a friend, or left alone with an innocent creature, as invasion and corruption could be so woven into their nature that they couldn't HELP but hurt it, even though no intention to do harm was there. But through a bond/a deal with the queen, they might be assist in helping other planets that Zero had harmed or at least be stopped from harming anyone else.
...I dunno. It's interesting though!

@newthinkerer
I love the Love-Love Stick so much! You're right in that it's so uniquely Kirby's! Not just as an artifact, but as a representation of what Kirby would do when a genki dama's worth of power is sent his way! (Sorry for the random DBZ reference!
That and Dess loves magical girls / maho shoujo shows so the fact that is a really good approximation of a magical transformation wand is also excellent in my book! (Let Kirby Be A Magical Girl!!)
Speaking of the maho shoujo genre... a decent variety of finishing attacks are about "healing" the inner darkness/corruption/violence of their opponent/monster of the week rather than destruction. That Kirby would fight Zero with love in an attempt to heal them/the damage they have done to Popstar... It's all too good!
(The fact that it destroys them and all the Dark Matter too is a bit sad. But Void takes damage from Friend Hearts so...)
I like your idea about Gooey too. Either taken perfectly literal or as a metaphor -- that Gooey couldn't/was afraid to tap into their Dark Matter origins until he was shown enough love and acceptance that it was safe for him, emotionally, to do so.
...But of course, the other best thing about the Love-Love Stick is that Kirby KEEPS IT after the events of Dream Land 3 only to proceed to use it to bap people over the head with it in Star Stacker SNES!! Gryll, you have the honor of being defeated by the same weapon that was used to obliterate Zero. And yet, Gryll totally survived. Gryll strongest last boss canon?!?

I really want to know more about Mr. Incognito since they aren't that much talked about like Bruno. Like why are they in the tower (suppose they're hired by the noise to watch her and that's why they always run away?) Plus who's the person in the trenchcoat. Take as long as you want to answer this
you can still probably guess who mr incognito is from one pose and some of the items. it both is and isn't who you think it is.
i think its fun when theres a bit of mystery left to things. part of me wants to tell about whoever's incognito and why but also part of me wants to keep it a secret, even though i'm not planning to actualize my ideas like, ever.
so i'll put the long answer under a read more and you decide if you wanna know lol
ITS THE NOISE!!!!
but also maybe not the noise we know. it's the other noise.
it was a rough idea but pretty much, this one is from an alt file where crumbling tower wasn't the victory lap it was supposed to be. noisette didnt make it out and theo noise didn't take it well. he feels regret abt not letting her know how much he cared abt her and treasuring their time together more. sad! anyways stuff happened and he's found his way into the file you play.
his default colors would be reminiscent of missing source textures and have noisette's pink but those parts could also change to match whatever color/pattern she's wearing. internal file names for sprites would be like spr_player (noisette replacing peppino, otherwise it'd be playerB for 🐇 lol), spr_playerN (noise) and spr_playerO (other noise, O is after N). the title screen would show 3 tvs but the last one is broken and inaccessible, leaving you with only 2 save slots.
The O. Noise, taking inspiration from ol' Noisette, disguises himself as Mr. N to the cognitO and tries to make sure this noisette will be fine on her adventure without messing with things too much. he'd lack access to his usual gear and maybe utilize scrapped stuff like the demolition button and grappling hook to help noisette clear obstacles in certain sections.
after you clear a file the first time, theo noise would disappear and you'd be sent back to the title screen and see the 3rd tv's been restored like nothing happened. if you select it, you'd then be able to play through the tower as noise (like kirby's meta knightmare time attack style)
ridiculous ambitious idea. unfitting for funny pizza game. also feels like noise overload, theres already so fucking many variations of this dude lol. did not pursue this any further but now you know if you read on ooouuugghh
(also im sure noisette, peshino, snick, etc came out of the tower just fine in the actual game. all those enemies in the credits made it out after all lol)
#capanswer#anonymous#ssoooorrrryyyy#pizza tower#edit: found original doodles so i replaced the shitty phone pic lol

What If Prisma was the one you played as in The Forgotten Land ala metaknightmare? What would her campaign mode be called and what would change?
Maybe like...Prisma's Royal Road??? Or something?? I am terrible when it comes to naming things sorry haha :')
Unlike the main story of Forgotten Land, in this mode, 1-ups and lives are a thing. If you die, you have to start over at your last checkpoint (which are at the start of every level).
Prisma will have access to special points she can collect akin to the ones in Knightmare, so you can collect them up and access special powers. These powers can be activated using the left d-pad buttons:
Press up to heal, press right to speed up, press down to summon a support friend (a Simirror will appear and help you for a few minutes or until he takes too much damage) and press left to activate a super attack (Prisma will unleash a large blizzard attack that acts as a screen wipe like Crash)
The mode would be like the others in the series where it consists of harder bosses and less food items and 1-ups. So it's quite a challenge.
Playing as Prisma, her moveset would be a mix of Mirror and Ice, with some of her own special attacks in there too. Her fighting style is focused more on distance so playing her as you would Dedede or Meta Knight isn't as effective.
At the end of the mode, she would face off against Phantom Dark Matter Blade, which would happen after a fight with Morpho.
#ask#anon#not art#prisma knight#neat idea thank you :)#i may expand on this at some point but for now these are all the ideas I have so far

Yeah I’d honestly love a meta knightmare or dddtour style extra mode. I’ve played those modes to death on my ds/3ds games, something about them are just really fun!
I have to wonder if they’ll have Magolor be an unlockable post game/post extra mode secret character? They do have him all set to go from Star Allies and this is his original game… not to mention Magolor’s popularity. I’m not expecting it in the slightest but it’s fun to speculate
That's exactly the kind of thing I was thinking about last post! I just think it'd be neat :)
I wonder what the final boss for something like that would be? Would it be some kind of Parallel Magolor type deal, where they introduce a clone character for him? The other wave three guys have those, I think he deserves a turn. (A parallel form would make the most sense, since those guys are heavily associated with Another Dimension.)
Alternatively, it might have a completely different final boss like the modes you mentioned do. I can't think of any existing characters that would make sense for that, though.
I'm certainly not expecting anything like this, but it's lots of fun to speculate.

On the last Meta Knightmare...
Flying to Gabbel in hopes of both capturing the oldest Mage-Sister and rescuing his daughter, surely nothing could go worse for Taranza, right?
Guess not ::(
And what do we have here?
Don't worry, these may be second-tier cars from 22 years ago, but they all turned out fine! This is from 2002, not 1952, for goodness' sake!
Chapter 18 of MKMIV: The Unforgettable Star-Studded Finale out now on AO3! (Although with how dark it is, I'm not sure if this presentation is exactly the most fitting.)

A Knightmare in the Underworld: Friendship
[Prev] - [Next]
[First]
"Galacta, this is a situation similar to that wi' Void aeons ago. We just 'ave to do th' exact identical thing again 'n' everything will be fine." Morpho Knight leads the group of knights to a hall within the castle while motioning to Blood Knight. "We could need yer help too if ye'r well." Sighing the warrior clad in purple nods in agreement. "Fine."
Galacta Knight has a grim expression on his face remembering the battle against Void. He had wished for an outcome different from that which had occurred and isn't willing to let that happen again. Not that Morpho Knight needs to know that yet. The warrior remains silent and equips his shield and lance.
Meanwhile Meta Knight puts Axe Knight aside to give him one final command. "You watch from the outside. If anything goes wrong grab the mirror shard from my cape and summon Dark Meta Knight. He'll know what to do." Saluting him with a hint of concern in his eyes, Axe Knight watches his boss return to his fellow knights.
Morpho Knight gives Necrodeus a signal to confirm they're ready for combat while they equip their sword. In response Necrodeus recalls his second in command. "Skullseer, return to my side." The warriors hear thuds and the flapping of wings coming from above just before Skullseer comes floating down and out of the arena. Seconds later a star-shaped figure comes crashing down in front of them and rises back into the air in a fighting position.
They are shaped like two five pointed stars layered on top of one another. Growing from between these shapes are six odd wings reminiscent of those of Dream, Dark and Soul Matterborn combined. Within the centre of the creature is a single magenta eye opened wide searching for the next target of their destruction. A strange gloomy mist surrounds them as the five points in the back of the creature begin to shift between elements.
Blood Knight swings his weapon and it shifts into battle mode, a fork appearing at the end of the pole with the splash ability already equipped. "We will have to watch one another's backs. That thing can cover an entire battlefield. Keep your eyes open." He pulls his wings from within his cape, which are all tattered and scarred top to bottom, much to Galacta Knight's surprise. He expected them to be the same bright purple colour as his horns. They'd have to talk about this later.
After shifting through elements for a few seconds Dark Nebula settles for the blizzard element and begins to engulf itself in ice. "Stoatin, let me show ye how this wirks, then." Morpho Knight proclaims as they lift off into the air sparks of flame trailing behind them as they light their sizzle magic. In the meantime Dark Nebula spreads its icy wings across the battlefield, one pair covering the ceiling, another the walls and the last the ground. Shivering coldness engulfs the entire arena.
Galacta Knight casts his classical beam swords to bat one pair of wings away that was about to corner them with icy shards from above. Following suit Meta Knight uses his ESP ability to throw the creature's feather projectiles right back at it, while Blood Knight stabs one of the ground level wings and tosses part of it to the other to stun it.
At the same time Morpho Knight charges their Doomblade, triples its size and swings it down at one of Dark Nebula's body's elemental spikes, breaking it off. The sinister entity winces in pain, withdrawing its wings, covering its vulnerable body with them like armour while shifting through elements again to pick something to counter Morpho Knight's flames with.
Upon settling for the splash element the creature once again opens its wings in the same arena covering manner. Galacta Knight dashes into the air, raising his lance to charge his lightning attack. The demon floods the ground and makes it rain within the hall only for the water to get immediately drained again by Blood Knight who draws the water into his pitchfork using his water ability.
Swinging down his lance Galacta Knight summons zap magic spines all across the battlefield that cause immense damage to Dark Nebula in its wet state. It begins to withdraw its wings before it can shield itself, Galacta Knight summons a second and a third wave of lightning spines, breaking off another one of the fiend's spikes.
Once its body is hidden within its wings again it shifts through elements, same as before, settling for the zap element targeting Blood Knight. Seeing his chance the warrior charges ahead, jumps into the air using a water fountain move and as it opens its wings again, hits the sinister entity full force with his pitchfork charged with the foe's own water from its previous attack, breaking off a third spike before it could even begin to set up its next move.
Blood Knight winces in pain as he arrives back on the ground, causing Meta Knight's wing to twitch. Somehow he could feel that those moves hurt. Without questioning it too much for the time being he flies closer to the other warrior to aid him. Meanwhile Dark Nebula shifts between its two remaining elements and settles for sizzle, opening its flaming hot wings which cause the temperature of the entire arena to rise making it feel like an oven.
Galacta Knight and Morpho Knight land close to the other warriors covering their backs. The latter leans towards Blood Knight slightly concerned. "I wis hoping you'd tak' care o' th' fire barrier as well." Flicking his wing at the butterfly he replies with a somewhat shaky voice. "Why don't you just let me do the whole battle alone unprepared at that point. You know I don't have the endurance." Raising their sword to a defensive position Morpho Knight gives up on their plan bracing themself for a difficult final stage of the battle.
Then suddenly Meta Knight raises his sword. "Apply splash to Galaxia. I'll take it from there." Blood Knight looks up in surprise. "Friend Ability?" Then he engulfs Galaxia in water, turning her into a Splash Sword. Watching the whole thing Galacta Knight's eyes light up in delight. "He knows how to use Friend Abilities!"
With a couple flaps of his wings Meta Knight ascends further into the air, into the centre of the battlefield and charges his Splash Mach Tornado. Upon unleashing the attack all six of Dark Nebula's fiery wings extinguish. On swift wings Meta Knight dashes towards its body and with a mighty splash sword slash another spike is destroyed leaving only a single one behind. Dark Nebula has no other choice than to use its last remaining element, bluster.
Without withdrawing its wings again it sends wind flying through its wings tossing the warriors around the arena. Galacta Knight thrusts his lance into the ground and grabs Morpho Knight's foot as they pass by him allowing them to lock themself onto the ground with their sword as well. Attempting the same trick with his pitchfork Blood Knight just barely manages to stick to the ground with an unsteady pained grip.
Meanwhile Meta Knight soars along with the wind until he can find a suitable spot to land on. Feeling a strange sense of urgency he charges Galaxia holding her into the air for a sword beam. Noticing this Galacta Knight summons his beam swords and Morpho Knight charges their own sword beam to send along with Meta Knight's attack. The force of all three attacks combined breaks the final elemental spike off of Dark Nebula's body and it sinks to the chared ground stunned.
Morpho Knight jumps up and points towards the wounded entity while addressing the magenta warrior. "This is our chance, Galacta Knight! Summon a Hert Spear 'n' we kin seal this thing awa' once 'n' for all!" Turning to their ancient friend with an irate glow in his eyes Galacta Knight growls.
"No."
Then he soars into the air with swift flaps of his soft lavender feather wings and holds his hands up in the air, sparks of pink heart magic surrounding them as he summons a Friend Heart. "We will do this my way this time! No more sealing away anyone!" He shouts in anger. It only now dawns on Morpho Knight what kind of thing they just requested.
Of course Galacta Knight wouldn't wish the same fate upon even his worst enemy which he had to suffer through, though they still see no other way to get rid of this problem. What Galacta Knight is attempting has never worked on anything more than a toddler before. This can't possibly be a success.
"I'll need your help with this. Give me your friendship, lend me your strength. I can not do this without you!" Galacta Knight continues to shout, his voice shaking with emotion. Without saying a word Blood Knight summons his own Friend Heart and tosses it onto Galacta Knight's, increasing its strength. Still unconvinced Morpho Knight hisses at them. "We've bin over this! That kind o' magic does not work on an entity so far gone into negativity! Spare yourselves th' energy 'n' use it to summon a Hert Spear instead!"
Unexpectedly Meta Knight raises his hands and summons a third Friend Heart and tosses it into the original, surprising both horned warriors. "He can summon a Friend Heart! Meta Knight can summon a Friend Heart!" Blood Knight shouts while pointing at him. "I just teared up a little… What do you say now, Morpho? Meta Knight can summon Friend Hearts now." Galacta Knight proclaims with pride, leaving Meta Knight confused why this would be such a big deal.
Grumbling aloud Morpho Knight finally raises their hands as well and summons a fourth Friend Heart and adds it onto Galacta Knight's. Immediately afterwards the Aeon Hero tosses the heart onto Dark Nebula's vulnerable core causing a ginormous pink heart magic explosion that blinds both the four warriors and the audience watching.
With bated breaths the bystanders wait for the magic blast to die down. The silhouette of Galacta Knight becomes visible first and within a few more seconds a wee purple puffball is discovered resting exhausted within his arms. Morpho Knight drops their weapon in amazement. "Ye did it, Galacta!" With tears in his eyes Blood Knight follows sniffling. "You're the best warrior."
The audience begins to cheer as well, Garlude and Skullseer are clapping while Axe Knight shouts, waving his arms. "You're incredible Galacta!" Even Necrodeus is impressed with his strong will and adds onto the cheers while locking eyes with his own warrior who had so much doubt in their friend. "What an amazing warrior and person." Papi turns around and leaves without a word. Landing on the ground Galacta Knight ruffled his feathers, a warm sensation running down his back. He can't remember the last time he felt this happy. "Wow…"
Placing a paw on his mask the former Dark Nebula opens their bright magenta eyes looking straight into those of Galacta Knight repeating what he just said softly. "Wooow…" He begins to sob, while Meta Knight watches speechless. Did he just turn a negative Matterborn into a positive version of themself? The thing that happened to himself so many years ago? He is stunned by his own thoughts for a moment.
"As much as I'd like to celebrate this whole thing with you all, we gotta make our move out of the Underworld. You've stayed here for way too long already." Blood Knight says sniffling and patting Galacta Knight on the back. "Right… Let's go home… together." The feathered knight nods and begins to move towards the exit with the small puffball snuggled against him.
Necrodeus addresses both of the guest warriors one more time, pleased with their achievements. "You've done us an immense service, Greatest Warriors in the Galaxy… The Skull Gang will consider you and those you hold dear their allies. Call upon us if you're in need and we will come to your aid." Galacta Knight looks up into the oddly familiar eyes of the Skull Gang's leader, still shaking from feelings of euphoria. "It probably won't be necessary, but I'll keep it in mind."
Following close behind is Meta Knight, who collects his cape from Axe Knight and reattaches it to his pauldrons. "I'd ask you to forget whichever feud you once had with Kirby. He is a close friend of mine." Watching the guests leave Necrodeus accepts Meta Knight's request. "It shall be done."
Before stepping onto the stairway Meta Knight turns to Morpho Knight one last time. "I will speak to Magolor soon about the crown for you." Then he begins to move downwards followed by Blood Knight, Axe Knight, Garlude and Galacta Knight, who still carries the new puffball around.
Morpho Knight waves them goodbye watching them go, wishing they could celebrate with them. They almost don't even notice Necrodeus passing by them. "You have done well. Take a break." For a minute they remain frozen in place before breaking down happy that this conflict is finally over, sobbing on the ground. Necrodeus rolls his eyes and scoops them from the ground, carrying them away nested in his palm, while brushing the dust off their wings softly.

On that last Meta knightmare theory post I Do like the idea that Nightmare and Meta are related but neither of them really acknowledge it, I think Meta does to some degree and it gives him reason to be less involved with him while Nightmare Does Not Give A Fuck

Five burning questions about Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe
We’re getting a lot of RtDL DX info today to the point where I wish we’d actually gotten a Nintendo Direct (mini). Well, there’s only a month and a half to go anyway, so in due time I will have answers to these important questions:
Will we be able to play Extra Mode from the get-go? I’m replaying RtDL in Extra Mode right now, and I don’t mind having to play the normal mode to unlock it. But Kirby and the Forgotten Land let you play Wild Mode from the get-go, and I thought it made a lot of sense because since Triple Deluxe, the series has shifted from offering Extra Games as Kirby. Recent games seem to prefer either Meta Knightmare-type time attack modes where you play a non-Kirby character, or weighty post-game content with levels that differ significantly from the main story levels (like Heroes in Another Dimension’s completely different levels or Isolated Isles’ significantly compressed and remixed take on the main mode’s stages). So I wonder if we’ll have a difficulty selection + lots of post-game content, in lieu of the Main Game + Extra Mode approach ...
The New Challenge Stages have to be in Merry Magoland as post-game content ... right? These were in Kirby’s Dream Collection and basically comprised the original Magoland. They also showcased abilities that didn’t originally have Challenge Stages in RtDL, like Spark, or Parasol, or even Smash (which wasn’t even in RtDL as an ability!) Plus you would race Magolor with an ability of your choosing while he basically tries to kill you! It seems plausible that they might at least include the Magolor Races in some kind of Colosseum-like feature alongside the boss rushes ... but it might just be wishful thinking. also if the game includes the credits from Kirby’s Dream Collection then first I will cry and second I will give the game an automatic 11/10
Can we still retry boss rushes from the last failed boss, instead of having to restart from the first boss? This was a great feature in Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s boss rushes, and it would be an absolute godsend in this game’s Arena given that I always failed it at the third- or second-to-last boss before finally getting through it on the Nth try. (If they ever remake Planet Robobot in HD then I want this feature in that remake too. Basically if you have a shooter boss in your Arena mode then please let me just retry that one a few times in a row ...)
Can we have one of the Merry Magoland souvenir masks be Qbby? There are 86 of them for god’s sake (we all know why 86) so surely you can spare one for Qbby? No? Oh well, BoxBoy will still live on in my heart, at least. Also all four characters can wear each others’ faces ... ? That’s not a question, just bemusement.
Can Ultra Sword!Kirby still very occasionally wield a giant golden paper fan? These are important questions to ask, you know.

Curious, in this au what is Marx’s role in this story. Is he changed at all or different
I try to incorporate and mix anime & game lore in order (to try) achieve a good mix of both... (but everyone is 10 x emotional & sympathetic...)
So Marx was the last creation of N.M.E and was to be the "pièce de ré·sis·tance," a monster in the guise of a friend. Not just that, but the "perfect friend for Kirby." (Planning to take advantage of Kirby's soft heart and friendly nature.)
Similar to how they used the following monsters (Chill, Galbo, Kirby's Robot-dog, etc.), but he was never finished... the Nightmare's base was destroyed when Kirby & the townsfolk blew up the base.
Marx was just left there all alone... the only thing that survived. But he didn't know what was his purpose. And the minute he's born, all he can see are these soldiers (Star Warriors) hunting him down.
Thankfully, our friendly N.M.E Salesman saves him and tells him all about it, basically his last act of revenge against King Dedede & Kirby. And he honestly feels fulfilling his purpose is what's going to make him feel whole.
He even tells him that it was Kirby and the gang's fault he's left all along up here with no one. His beef wasn't just with Kirby but with everyone in Dreamland (but the anger is mostly towards cappies... they blew up his home).
Marx is pretty central to Kirby's stories and is one of the core reasons why he wants to become a star warrior. He does serve as one of Kirby's most loyal allies and one of Kirby's closest friends.
HEAVY SPOILER WARNING FOR (KNIGHTMARE'S END & KING DEDEDE REMPTION ARC)... Keep reading if you'd like... I'm going to water down everything and skim over some details in this explanation. And there's some art content as well)
(After the events of The Knightmare's End)
After remembering his past with Meta Knight... Kirby wanted more than anything to rekindle his relationship with his long-lost guardian. With Kirby regaining his memories it was easy for him to slip and reestablish the closeness he had with Meta Knight back when he was an infant. (He missed him so much...)
Meta Knight (on his part) was determined to make up for all the lost time, teach him everything he knew, and eager to reconnect with his boy after all those wretched years alone. He was ready to give him the world... (Basically, he spoiled him rotten for a while! XD)
Being under Meta Knight's tutelage, Kirby began to mature properly, even learning how to talk... but he taught him in a way that made him excited to learn. With each lesson, he'd weave tales from his past... which allowed Kirby to learn more about Team Halberd (their family). He'd even invite Knuckle Joe & Sircia for lessons & sparring so they could learn about their parents.
For Meta Knight, spending time with Kirby managed to heal the wounds around his heart. As for Kirby, he felt like this was what he had been missing all this life (a parental figure), someone who could always be there for him & love him no matter what. The bond they shared made each other feel less lonely, and it was one in which they helped each other grow.
But unknowingly this had consequences...
With Meta Knight reclaiming as Kirby's guardian leaves Fumu in this status of limbo. Fumu basically got everything she wanted... being free of the burden she was as the keeper of the warpstar. But she didn't know how drastically his relationship with Kirby would change.
Fumu still doesn't know Kirby overheard what she said... he just doesn't want to trouble her anymore (like she wanted). The events of the whole anime series took a toll on Kirby. (Namely, with the cappies wanting to kick him out.) He found himself staying away from town.
While everyone in Cappy town tried to make it up to Kirby... and forgave them. He never really trusted them or allowed them to get close to him like they used to. Fumu sees this and tries to remedy the situation, which backfires terribly. (Is the same thing similar to the "Kirby Takes the Cake,"- episode where he runs away.)
Fumu: Kirby this is your home, everyone lo-
Kirby: Then why doesn't it feel like home-
Fumu: Kirby but why-
Kirby: Poyo... going to Meta Knight's...
This was the moment when she realized just out of touch she was with Kirby. Bun could only watch this trainwreck... and couldn't help but be upset with Kirby turning down all his sister's party. Causing a rift between the friends. (They still didn't get it Fumu & Bun.)
This divide is made even further with the (redemption arc) of King Dedede. (Events involving Dark Matter)
Kirby forgives Dedede and now considers him a friend!? This leaves Fumu & Bun desperate to convenience him otherwise... believing him to be too trusting & too naive... But who should come to back Kirby on his decision is none other than Meta Knight!
Kirby: But he means you don't see what I-
Fumu: He's tricking you, Kirby! Like he always does...
Bun: Yeah, how many times has he pulled this "turned over a new leaf junk" on everyone!
KD: It's fine kiddo... I won't stay where I'm not wanted I'll-
Kirby: Poyo, (sees KD visually uncomfortable) but Dedede...
Fumu: Meta Knight, aren't you going to do something, stop-
Meta Knight: I stand by my pupil's decision... This is Kirby's choice... I trust him... do not overstep your boundaries, both of you!
Resulting in Kirby spending more time with Dedede & MK than with them (helping the king to better himself). The siblings want nothing to do with Dedede's betterment. Bun & Fumu... they can't help but resent Dedede but this also minimizes the time their time with Kirby.
It bothers them how increasingly chummy he's they've been getting with King Dedede. (There's also a little incident that Kirby & Meta Knight swore to keep secret for KD's sake that they two don't know about... which would have probably made them more sympathetic to King Deded, it just wasn't their (Kirby & MK) story to tell...)
In truth, Marx didn't have to do that much... he just had to expose Fumu & Bun's deepest insecurities about their friendships. With Bun being the main chess piece in it all.
(Marx's arc takes place after "Kirby and the Crystal Shards" )This is Kirby's first major adventure... without them.
Fumu bottles up her feelings... but Bun is furious and extremely jealous of King Dedede: it almost feels like they've both been replaced with the guy who tried to get rid of him before.
Causing tension from the once-knit, tight group of friends (Fumu & Bun). And the dynamic of the trio has been altered... causing the cracks in their relationship undeniable... And who should take advantage of these cracks... Marx.
Marx's major role in this arc serves to expose the cracks in the friendships he has with Fumu & Bun. And show how a pile of little problems can destroy a once-strong friend.
So, without going into detail...: Marx manages to manipulate the heck out of Bun & the other kids (the group he hangs out with in the anime) to bully Kirby, leading to the kids pranking and almost killing King Dedede.
Bun receives the brunt of the punishment and reveals his jealousy and anger at Kirby, leaving him and Fumu behind (especially after the Ripple Star saga).
This leads to Kirby calling Bun a horrible friend, resulting in "Empathic touch" being accidentally used. Bun & the kid gang are forced to see and feel what they've been doing to Kirby... even before the incident. All the times they made him feel small, left out, stupid, and different...
It's finally to revealed Fumu that Kirby heard her rant about "How she never wanted to look after Kirby..."
Everything all clicks to her now and she starts to apologize profusely. But it's far too late for that... because to Kirby... Fumu's actions lately (Marx also manipulated her into ignoring Kirby) prove it otherwise.
And they (Bun & the kid gang) feel awful (AS THEY RIGHTFULLY SHOULD!) And META KNIGHT IS ABSOLUTELY LIVID, no longer trusts Bun, and says, "I'm utterly disappointed in you..." And doesn't want him and those "gutter children" (Meta Knight) near Kirby... again...
But he (MK) apologizes to Fumu... "I'm sorry Fumu... I should have never got you involved... I will try better not to..."
Fumu: Not that's not what I wanted, Kirby- *reaches out to him*
Kirby pulled away from her, disheartened... Meta Knight trying his best to comfort Kirby... with Dedede carrying him in his arms... they both bring the poor baby home.
Marx relishes this! During this incident managed to paint himself as an absolute saint... (being the one who told MK of the bullying, warning Kirby about the car, etc.) while Bun was the evil mastermind (when in reality it was Marx).
While Marx may have been the main puppeteer, these were issues that were already beneath the surface... Marx just dug them up. (This is why this friend problem is carried into the next 2 arcs... okay back to Marx...)
Taking full advantage of Kirby's low state and doing his job as the perfect friend. And he actually manages to cheer him up! He plays with Kirby and listens to his problems (slowly accidentally gets attached and realizes how alike they are and... NONONO! Marx you've got a job to do!) But the more he spent time with Kirby the more his inner guilt grew...
A few weeks later, the game plot begins with a bit of a change.
Meta Knight is still suspicious of Marx... so rather than letting Kirby go alone to collect the stars, he goes with him (plus he's too young to travel alone.) Basically, Meta Knightmare Ultra & Kirby Milky Way Wishes combined. In short, the trip ends up being a fun father-son trip... just with them having to stop the Sun and the Moon from fighting at the end.
Meta Knight takes this as an opportunity to have him unpack the situation with Fumu & Bun. However, he doesn't give him the false hope that everything will be patched up instantly... it's going to take time and effort. And friends just sometimes (unintentionally) drift apart... especially when you're growing up... they change.
Meta Knight then reveals that he had a friend like that too and they ended up drifting apart as well... but it ended terribly (Galacta Knight). They collect all the stars (yada, yada, yada) same plot line happened, "Marx Villain reveal" but with a little twist.
When it comes time to make the wish... Nova attempts to grant the wish, but they cannot grant the wish. They tried multiple times as a result of this happened:
Nova: Are you sure this is what you want?!
Marx: OF COURSE THIS IS MY PURPOSE! MY DESTINY GRANT MY DANG WISH ALREADY YOU DAM-
Nova: That's not what you want... You don't really want this...
Marx: What are you...
Meta Knight takes this as the opportunity to fly into Nova... Basically, it was Meta Knight the one to destroy the Nova Clockwork, instead of Kirby on the Starship.
While Kirby takes on Marx... he tries to talk to Marx, but he's not having it... This is where Marx's Soul kicks in as he rages on all the while tears, are leaking from his eyes. Blaming Kirby for his failures, claiming he must have done something.
Marx constantly angrily asks, "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!," "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME! YOU AND YOU'RE STUPID CAPPIES ARE THE REASON I'M ALONE IN THIS WORLD! YOU DESTROYED MY HOME AND RUINED MY LIFE I HAVE NO ONE! I HAD A DESTINY! I HAD A PURPOSE, AND YOU! I WAS CREATED TO WRECK HAVC! ... so ...WHY... Why... *begins to cry* I'm supposed to hate- You and your stupid friendship... why do I feel-*
Then Kirby hits him with an "empathic touch," which shows pretty much a montage of Marx and Kirby's moments together. He pretty much shows that "he was enjoying his time with Kirby...", and "he does care for Kirby..." (Oh no did he actually want to be friends with Kirby- This wasn't so supposed to happen!?)
Kirby understands it all: feeling lost, trying hard to fit in, finding your place in the world. What happened to him after the destruction of Nightmare's base. (how he was abused by a certain someone) Kirby just felt so sorry for Marx and was oozing with empathy for him.
Kirby: It's okay Marx I forgive y-
Marx: DON'T... Don't I... I don't deserve- AAARGH!
Due to Kirby's "empathic touch," he was able to also feel how much the friendship meant to Kirby. Marx can't help but he failed on both ends... he couldn't do what he was made for and he may have just lost his first and only friend...
And just before Kirby has a chance to forgive Marx: he flees anger at himself for everything he's done. He doesn't want Kirby's forgiveness (he doesn't deserve it...), leaving behind his balancing-ball.
Marx does make a wish, however... but it's not what you think...
Once destroying the Nova Clockwork Meta Knight, rushes to console his Kirby.
Meta Knight: Kirby, are you alright-
Kirby: If had just one person in his life... maybe he wouldn't have... he could've been my friend- poyo~*starts crying* I can't hate him, I just can't... ARE ALL MY FRIENDSHIPS GOING TO AMOUNT TO THIS IN THE END... LIKE THIS!?
Meta Knight: Oh my poor boy you've been through so much-
Kirby: Am I dumb, hoping he'll come back as my friend... IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!?
Meta Knight: It doesn't have to... *hugs him* this friendship meant a lot to you... it helped you through a tough time * Think back on his friendship with Galacta, although it hurt him in the end, he was grateful for the good it did* it made you less lonely I think that part's worth cherishing... and I don't think you're dumb...
Kirby: Huh?
Meta Knight: After the war, I kept seeing the worst in everything... expecting the worst... to stop me from-... but it blinded me from the good as well (he's referring to Kirby) and... I fell into despair. *pats his head* I'm sorry to say this probably won't be the last something like this will happen, but...
*wipes tears with his cape*
Meta Knight says something that resonates with Kirby... and it's something he carries even to this day.
Meta Knight: So keep your eyes open and beware of the bad in the world... but also *takes Marx's ball and gives it to Kirby* hold on... hold on to the good as well... you don't have to look, just know that it's there... it'll keep you from falling...
For a while, Marx wonders galaxy... I'm not gonna reveal what he does just yet, but... the path he takes leads him back to Kirby.
One thing leads to another, and Kirby gets saved... BY MARX?! Marx tries to flee after saying Kirby, but he gets gravely injured... which forces him to have to stay put. Well, he tries to escape and is literally a feral cat the whole time. He just feels too darn guilty still about everything about Nova's Wish... and doesn't believe Kirby actually forgives him.
So, as a compromise, they let him recover in Halcandra. They cash in a favor from Magolor. Marx gets to know Magolor and basically talks about his story with Kirby. (Literally, Mags just redeemed himself recently...) This interaction makes him feel a little better... but he's still a little anxious that is until Kirby shows him his ball...
I really love Marx's story arc... I hope I didn't spoil too much there are a few secrets still hidden, but like I said this is a very watered-down version of everything hope you stick around for the full story!
Look forward to it!

we've seen cards like the mulcharmy in concept and design before as new releases meant to potentially creep older cards out of the meta by using their old gimmick in a new way (raigeki -> lightning storm is a p easy example of this) but a lot of the time they don't actually make the old cards disappear unless its from a more game warping circumstance (links introducing knightmares and giving all decks an easy removal tool at 2/3 mats so MST and other pals Mostly disappeared. and even then they do see use)
"imperm powercreeps veiler? lol now they can run 6 copies of veiler instead" is generally how it goes
you're 100% right in them testing the grounds here bc The Roach is top 5 in most divisive ygo cards ever and I can get wanting to make a Sort Of limited version of it available (i am of the controversial opinion that a card like maxx c is kind of necessary in the combo spam ages of today) BUUUUT in the case where maxx c avoids the ban hammer then konami have wrought a storm of bugs and jellyfish.
we are absolutely getting the last 3 types though they might have radically different effects since the first 3 we have already cover all potential places to summon from unless they do some truly buckwild shit like "your opponents GY/Banishment" but i dont see that happening itd be too absurd even for modern yugioh
Konami (potentially) killing Maxx C and replacing it with these guys is so funny to me
Like, it has to be on purpose that they designed the Cockroach Replacement to be Uwu cute jellyfish so at least duelists can’t be too upset with THIS THING
Murdering your game plan
#sidenote we have cards that ONLY INCIDENTALLY search out maxx c if there were a way to add it to your hand by direct named search#it would be the apocalypse so no way in hell these guys are getting direct searchers thatd be scary#it would lead to an orcust/knightmares/kash/tearlaments levels of full archetype banlists#i love talking ygos game design with someone! instead of subjecting my followers to pages of it (i love that too)
