Nightbird in Earthspark
I just wanna see the funny ninja again. Minor spoilers for season two of Earthspark.
Thirty years ago, the Decepticons stole an experimental ninja robot in the hopes of using it against the Autobots and their allies. Much like the original G1 version, she gets damaged in battle (We'll say Optimus was the one to shoot her instead of Starscream, feeling that he had no other way of stopping her) and abandoned by the Decepticons. G.H.O.S.T claimed that if she was repaired, then the Decepticons might try and take her again, so they shut her up in storage. And there she stays for the rest of the war.
Cut to a few months after the final battle against Mandroid. The Autobots have begun the slow process of clearing out G.H.O.S.T's HQ and turning it into their own. They come across Nightbird and decide to give her back to Dr. Fujiyama, so she's loaded into Prime's trailer for him to deliver her. But on the way, he gets called by the other Autobots and the Terrans. An Embershard has been found, and they're pinned down by the Decepticons. So Prime takes a detour to help out, with Nightbird still in his trailer.
Skipping over the battle a bit, Prime's trailer is eventually opened so he can use its cannon, but that also exposes Nightbird. During the chaos, the shard is flung into the trailer, its casing shatters, and it gets lodged in Nightbird's plating. At some point in the fight, it began raining, and when it comes into contact with the shard and Nightbird, it brings the ninja to life as a Terran protoform.
Nightbird awakens, and she sees the Autobots, Decepticons, and Terrans staring at her, confused. She suddenly remembers the battle thirty years ago. Optimus shooting her, Megatron abandoning her, G.H.O.S.T locking her up. Thankfully, she wasn't disarmed when she was put in storage, and she throws a smoke bomb and escapes in the commotion. With Nightbird and the shard gone, the bots all take their leave.
Nightbird remains hidden for several weeks after that. The Maltobots can't feel her through their bond, and the Autobots can't find any trace of her on their scanners. It isn't until Nightshade and Twitch are out getting cave water that they find the ninja, half dazed as she runs out of energy. Of course, they get her some cave water, speedrun through an explanation of the last thirty years, and try to convince her to come home with them. Nightbird is hesitant, as she doesn't want to associate with anyone allied with the Autobots, but she does tentatively follow them back home.
She lets Nightshade run diagnostics on her to see if it's safe to remove her Embershard, and once it's out, she mostly just hangs around the bunker. After all, it's not like she has anywhere else to go. The Malto's help her adjust to being alive and sentient, and sometimes suggest alt mode ideas to her (She's largely ambivalent to getting one but there has been a motorcycle or two that's caught her eye.)
Things are tense between her and the Autobots. She tolerates Bumblebee since the Malto's consider him family, but when the others come knocking, she'll usually retreat into the woods for a few hours. If Optimus or Megatron in particular try approaching her, then she vanishes for a few days. She may not have actually been alive during the war, but it's still hard to forget the way she was cast aside and left to gather dust.
I'm not completely sure how she interacts with each Malto individually, nor do I know what she does in season two proper. So that'll just have to wait for another day.
#transformers#earthspark#transformers earthspark#transformers au#nightbird#earthspark spoilers#you wouldn't believe how many times i accidentally typed nightshade instead of nightbird#i didn't bring it up in the main post but she doesn't speak#whether it's because she can't or because she chooses not to remains to be seen#i'm also torn on whether she gets an alt mode or not#on one hand i like keeping her as a non transforming bot#but i also like bikeformers and i have at least two ideas about how to integrate her alt mode with her ninja weapons

[ID: Transformers Earthspark clip of Jawbreaker interviewing Elita-one on a camcorder. There's scanline and recording ui affects. Jawbreaker is a young terran transformer with squat preportions in his protoform (white, grey, and blue, non discript body). Elita is a large cybertronian transformer with a pink SUV alt mode, clear car parts like wheels, headlights, and grill visible on her robot mode body.
full transcribe below
Camera over JB's shoulder, looking at a city skyline with the sun behind it.
JB: It's so... pretty.
Camera whips to Elita as she speaks: This whole planet is. I... like to end my work outs by reminding myself what I'm trying to protect.
JB graps the camera and turns it around, setting it up: I want to keep it safe too. [Sad, comtemplates the camera] But how can I do that without an alt mode.
He sets down the camera and we exit the camcorder view. The camera is very small in his hands
Elita sitting behind, twisting to look at him: Kid, you don't need an alt mode to do that.
JB: But, I'm a transformer. I'm suppose to transform!
Elita gives a breathed laugh/huff: Jawbreaker, lemme let you in on a little secret, hmm?
She tap the space next to where shes sitting on a shipping container. We see in camcorder mode the profile shot JB set up, he walks over and sits. We exit camcorder mode, and see JB and Elita from head on.
Elita: Scanning your alt mode isn't some kind of magic. There's a special compotent inside of you, [hand to her chest] Inside every bot, called the T-cog. It's what lets us change shape.
JB points to his chest with his one large finger. Speaking deliberately: The T-cog. Wow... [normal speech] Oh! But I'm not cybertronian. How do you know I... have one?
Elita, prompting: Some of your terran siblings have changed form, right?
JB: But what if I'm... [voice break] different?
Elita, looks toward the city: You know it took me forever to find an earth alt mode too? Nothing I saw ever felt right. So I waited. I waited, and waited, and waited.
JB: And then?!
Elita, turns to JB, points to her chest again: My spark, told me what was right.
JB: BUT- [somber] what if I'm broken or something? When I look at- cars. I feel nothing.
Elita puts a hand on JB's shoulder: Then maybe... you weren't meant to be a vehicle.
JB, suprised/awed: You can scan other things?
Elita: Almost anything you want. It's up to you.
JB: Thanks, Elita.

spike, angel, buffy & romanticism: part 4
part 1: “When you kiss me I want to die”: Angel and the high school seasons
part 2: “Love isn’t brains, children”: Enter Spike as the id
part 3: “Something effulgent”: Season five and the construction of Spike the romantic
*
“But I can’t fool myself. Or Spike, for some reason.”: Buffy and Spike as a blended self
Before I get into seasons six and seven, it’s worth asking: why would the show do all of this? Why would it spend all of this time developing a supporting villain and joke id character? Why would it give him a romantic arc? I see people say that the writers only gave Spike these storylines because he was popular or they wanted to keep him around, but even that being the case, there was no need to give him the specific arc that they did. It’s more than possible to read meaning into the story that they chose from the array of possible options.
Here is the thing about the id. It’s not actually something separate from you. It’s not a ravenous monster you can blame your weaknesses on while remaining pure and dignified. The id is part of you. The immediate and enduring appeal of Spike is, I suspect, strongly influenced by the fact that the things the id wants are so very human and sympathetic. His foibles and mistakes are often painfully familiar, even exaggerated through vampirism as they are. In fact, it’s precisely because Spike is allowed to show a full range of reactions to love, because the writing is under less pressure for him to do the “right” or dignified thing, that he can at times be compelling in ways other characters can’t. If Spike just did nasty things, his appeal wouldn’t be much more complicated than the appeal of Angelus, who people tend to like as a villain or storyline rather than as a relatable character. But Spike doesn’t want to dismember nuns or construct elaborate murder tableaux. He wants familiar things like love, identity and meaning, even if the ways he goes about getting them can reflect people’s worst impulses.
Which brings us to Buffy, and Buffy’s story about growing up. Buffy is Buffy’s show, which means that every writing choice tends to revolve around her arc in one way or another. And this goes for Spike’s storyline even more than most. In the final three seasons of the show, the writing finally engages with how inextricable the id--and all of its impulsive, inarticulate romantic desires--really is from a person’s self. So instead of keeping Spike at a comfortable distance, both Buffy and the writing begin to take him seriously. They begin to invite him in.
Starting in season five, it’s telling how frequently Buffy herself projects on Spike, rather than just the writing setting them up as mirrors. She tells him that he’s the “only one strong enough” to protect her family, and later assigns Dawn specifically to his protection. In “Spiral” she describes him as “the only one besides me that has any chance of protecting Dawn.” This is a very intimate role that she otherwise only assigns to herself (and which is not really based on pure practicality, considering that she’ll later describe Willow as her “big gun”--yet never gives Willow the task of protecting Dawn). She tells him that he cannot love, which is the thing she fears most about herself. Her protests that Spike is a vampire, and thus cannot express or want human things like love, mirror her lamentations that as the Slayer, she cannot have a normal life.
From the Gilliland Gothic double essay:
More than any of her other lovers, Buffy and Spike overlap one another so often that at times their character arcs become nearly indistinguishable. With Angel, Buffy traveled a parallel path in attempting to master self-control. With Riley, her journey ultimately took her in the opposite direction. With Spike, Buffy’s journey is most closely shadowed, in that her interactions with him in many ways can be seen as metaphors for her feelings about herself.
So now Spike is multiple things. On the one hand, he’s the soulless id he’s been since season two. His vampiric behavior represents a morally uninhibited way of reacting to romantic frustrations, among other things. But on the other hand, his vampirism now also marks him as like Buffy, not merely her opposite.* Nor is he only her mirror in the realm of romantic love. The part of him that is a vampire is the part of him that is supernatural (ie, Romantically larger-than-life), that sets him apart from regular people, and dictates how he can and cannot behave. Just like Buffy’s slayerness. His vampirism is what makes him capable of protecting Dawn, while also making him (supposedly, according to Buffy) incapable of human feeling--again, just like Buffy’s slayerness. Instead of Buffy’s Slayer side being aligned with Angelus, who was an unmitigated evil, it becomes aligned with Spike, who is something more complicated.
*(Though it must be noted that this was a process that began in season four, with the show aligning Spike with the Scoobies by making him a victim of the Initiative. Spike being supernatural suddenly marks him as non-normative, just like the Scoobies, in contrast to the institutional conformity that the Initiative represents. The evolution towards treating the Romantic supernatural as something positive and associated with identity plays a key role in transitioning the show to the more complicated attitudes of the last three seasons.)
This shift in the show’s attitudes towards the id affects how Spike is used. In “Blood Ties” for example, Spike assists Dawn in breaking into the Magic Shop and in “Forever” he helps Dawn resurrect her and Buffy’s mother. In both cases, Spike could be read as embodying impulsive behavior that Buffy is supposed to be better than. Yet both cases specifically involve Spike helping Dawn, who is repeatedly portrayed as Buffy’s human side. As Buffy says in “The Gift”: “[Dawn]’s more than [my sister]. She’s me. The monks made her out of me. [...] Dawn is a part of me. The only part that I--”. In other words, Buffy’s id becomes closely tied to her humanity, even going so far as to become its safeguard. “Blood Ties” ends with Buffy affirming her connection to Dawn, which Spike’s rule-breaking directly enabled, and “Forever” ends with Buffy acknowledging how desperately she wants her mother back too, and becoming closer to Dawn as a result. (Compare to “Lovers Walk”, where Buffy acknowledging her id results in her breaking away from Angel, not drawing closer to anyone). Or in “Intervention”, Spike building the Buffybot directly parallels Buffy’s own anxieties about what she thinks she should be. She thinks she’s losing her ability to love, and that effusive fakery is her only recourse (as she said in “I Was Made to Love You”: “Maybe I could change. [...] I could spend less time slaying, I could laugh at his jokes. I mean men like that right? The joke laughing at?”), a fear that even has some merit, given that her friends cannot tell her and the bot apart. Instead of Buffy and Spike having separate arcs in the episode, Spike learning the difference between real and fake dovetails with Buffy’s own relationship to her realness and fakeness. It turns out that neither of them want a bot version of Buffy. They want real emotion, things like sacrifice and heartfelt gratitude. If even Buffy’s id would let itself be killed for Dawn, then maybe she has nothing to fear from herself. Maybe there is some beauty in the emotional part of her nature that she thinks she must repress.
In other words, part of the writing (and Buffy) fully engaging with romanticism and the id, means engaging with the ways they can be bad and good. There’s this weird thing that happens with Spike as soon as he falls in love with Buffy, where suddenly his actions are more uncomfortable, and to many, off-putting, because their object is Buffy (instead of another vampire like Harmony or Drusilla, who either enjoy the same vampiric things he does, or the audience might be inclined to see as a moral nonentity regardless). His comic id quality becomes somewhat darker and more serious, almost like the way Angel’s early season two darkness becomes more serious after he loses his soul. But at the same time, Spike’s actions are also more intriguing, sympathetic, and even noble...because their object is Buffy. It makes no sense that a soulless vampire should not only fall in love with the Slayer, but genuinely attempt to transform himself into someone worthy of her love. And yet that’s exactly what Buffy inspires him to do. By loving Buffy Spike’s dual nature, and the dual nature of his romanticism, is thrown into relief: it’s something that can be selfish and creepy, yes, but also something that hints at the idea that real romanticism does exist. Something worth feeling romantically about does exist. Thus the writing can at once criticize, say, the way the chivalric mindset conflates love and suffering, while also suggesting that there are kinds of love it’s worth being transformed by. (Meanwhile, Spike’s fumbling bewilderment over how to love Buffy, and what the rules of loving people correctly even are, creates a human middle ground between monstrousness and heroism). By leaning into the way that Buffy and Spike have been used as mirrors for three seasons, and introducing the mythology-bending idea of Spike being in love with Buffy, the writing is able to fully engage with this complicated, contradictory nature of love and romance.
All of which is to say. Spike becomes a potential love interest, and is given a convoluted inner conflict between monstrousness, humanity and heroism, in precisely the season in which Buffy begins to reckon with her own inner conflict between her darker impulses, her human reality, and her supernatural role. It’s no coincidence that season five opens with Dracula, an icon of romantic vampire mythology, tempting Buffy with darkness and promising her insight into her nature. Or that a vampire kidnaps Dawn--again, her human half--in the next episode. Or that the season’s antagonist is a super-strong blonde woman who wants to destroy Dawn instead of protect her. Or that she says goodbye to Riley, the boyfriend who embodied her hopes for a more normative way of being (notice how Riley is progressively destabilized by everything non-normative about Buffy’s life, and provokes those anxieties Buffy expresses in “I Was Made to Love You”). Over and over in season five, Buffy fears that her Slayer half is cold, destructive, and otherwise dangerous. That these Romantic things like gods and vampires have it in for Buffy’s vulnerable humanity. Yet Buffy’s vampire id simultaneously gives lie to these fears by proving itself capable of heroism and genuine human feeling.
In other words, Spike becomes a potential love interest in a season that treats the Romantic--ie the grand and mythical--as something more than just an attractive lie to be disabused of. Rather, the question that season five seems to posit to me, and which will not be fully answered until the end of season seven, is this: once you do clear away the attractive lies, once you accept the hard realities, once you’ve seen the darkest underbellies, what are the things that are left that are truly grand and beautiful? What are the stories that are really worth telling, and the heroes that are really worth having?
And the show asks and answers these questions on both a very personal level, and a more meta, systemic level. On the personal level, Buffy and Spike are forced to confront their illusions not just about the world, but about themselves. They are made to ask themselves what constitutes a heroic role or a demonic weakness, versus basic, unromantic humanity. And on the meta level, the show asks questions about our expectations for how both love stories and chosen hero stories are supposed to go.

been meaning to post my first NSR OC here for a while but decided to wait until i got around to hopping on the bandwagon and making a robot/1010 OC companion for them! here’s my NSR OCs Chroma and J7/Vesta! :D Submitted the both of them to the #CitizensofVinylCity collab that Zuke’s VA is hosting on Twitter too :”)
more info below the read-more for bios!
KLIFF: “Hope you’re ready to dive deep into the ground for this one, kids! Because this next star is, quite literally, a hidden gem.”
NAME: Chroma (they/them) AGE: 23 OCCUPATION: NSR Artist, Charter of the Meteo District. PLACE OF CONCERT: Lux Museum GENRE: Artcore (EDM) WEAPON/INSTRUMENT OF CHOICE: Lapid Mining Drones THEME: Qavsell by Feryquitous / ALT: ALiUS by Feryquitous
Chroma is affiliated with NSR, and works as both a EDM musician, artist and lapidary. Many people associate Chroma with the former and latter, which is their music and the beautiful jewelries and gems they craft and refine.
With artcore being a genre that many people don’t know about, Chroma is the same way. Unlike NSR’s Megastars, Chroma prefers to be lowkey, not being the type of person to flaunt themselves. Chroma would rather have their music and jewels be in the light instead of them.
As a person, Chroma is very quiet yet kind. They tend to keep to themselves, engaging in conversations with strangers for a short period of time. They are extremely passionate about lapidation and art, and will go on semi-long talks about their interests if presented with the opportunity. They are also humble, not wanting to bask in the limelight for too long. They treat everyone they see with silent kindness, and it is not uncommon to see Chroma spend more time with their AI drones and Vesta. However, should Chroma see anyone laying their hands on their bots or attempting to hurt them, Chroma’s mood will shift and they will aggressively protect them.
As a boss, Chroma is a long-range attacker, utilizing mirrors, light-rays, prisms and their mining drones (Barringer, Holsinger) to fire beams of light and bright flashes to attack and stun their opponents. Chroma will often maintain their distance from BBJ, dodging swiftly and running to the other side of the arena when presented with the chance. Once attacked enough, Chroma will “crack,” shifting to become hysteric and their form will transform into something more sharper and hardened. They will drop their long distance attacks and lash at their opponents with claw-like hands, or charge at them with their horn-like headgear. Their drones will also activate into “mining mode,” spinning like drills, swiftly honing in and flying at BBJ to attack them.
EXTRA 1: Chroma names all of the drone AIs. Their main drones that stay by their sides are Barringer (white) and Holsinger (black). They also chose the name for Vesta.
EXTRA 2: the horns on Chroma’s head are not permanent. They are removable, worn like head-gear, and is used to relay messages to and from their drones. Their headgear also comes with an ear-piece, which is worn in Chroma’s hidden ear.
EXTRA 3: Chroma looks up to Eve as a fellow artist and admires her work, often visiting the Evenfall Gallery on their free time.
EXTRA 4: Chroma is secretly a fan of SAYU and 1010.
KLIFF, AFTER BBJ RETURNS FROM METEO: “You say you fought a robot in Chroma’s district, huh? That’s funny, I don’t have anything about a ‘strange 1010′ written in my notes. Then again, Meteo isn’t a place I visit everyday.”
NAME: J7 “VESTA” (he/him) AGE: ? OCCUPATION: Meteo District’s Head of Security, Chroma’s companion and overseer of the mines. PLACE OF CONCERT: Lux Museum GENRE: ????/EDM WEAPON/INSTRUMENTS OF CHOICE: BIORUS Stinger, titanium drill legs. THEME: SECRET BOSS by Camellia
Formerly known as J7, Vesta is a repurposed and customized 1010 robot who serves as many things within Meteo, with his primary role being Chroma’s bodyguard. Though he and Chroma are close, their relationship can hardly be called romantic. The two share a mutualistic bond over similarities (not in appearance) and the need to protect one another. Chroma is fragile yet wants to keep Vesta safe, whereas Vesta is dangerous to everyone around him, including himself.
Due to glitches in his system from a virus that could not be fully removed in time, he had to be put out of commission. Said glitches from the virus’s remaining effects include:
The inability to fully form his left iris (iris lens expansion causes further glitches and hinders eye movement, thus perpetually stuck in its shrunken form).
The inability to sing and dance like the current builds of 1010.
Glitching caused by the virus’s aftermath. This causes his mind to fragment, and the glitch lasts longer the more intense of an emotion he feels. If he is in close contact with other robots or electronics, one touch can instantly cause them to glitch*, malfunction or even deactivate for a short period of time. If not careful, he can shut down power-grids (this has happened once before, and Chroma knew immediately to ask for Neon J to upgrade their district’s network/systems to prevent a shutdown from ever happening again).
*There is a unique event that comes when Vesta is in close contact with another robot. Should he glitch while feeling intense emotions, he has the ability to project his glitches through contact (via hands, stinger). This will allow whoever he touches (given that they must be a bot) to feel what he feels, only for a short moment.
As a person, despite his appearance, Vesta is very self-conscious. He feels his sheer height may intimidate many, when that doesn’t end up being the case. Non-district visitors may recognize him as a 1010, which causes him to become anxious and overwhelmed. As he was upgraded and customized to Chroma’s likeness, Neon J activated him in Meteo upon Chroma’s request as to not attract attention near the other districts when he would awaken. He has never once come into contact with 1010, only seeing them on giant screens and billboards. Each time he sees them, he feels a strange aching sensation in his robotic core that tells him he should be like them...
As a boss, Vesta is extremely protective of Chroma. During the initial battle against Chroma, Vesta will swoop in before BBJ can finish them off. Seeing Chroma hurt puts Vesta into a glitched rage, causing his system to go into SECURITY MODE. He will then utilize his BIORUS Stinger to attack his opponents, which can extend like a scorpion’s tail. Like Chroma’s mining drones, he has the ability to transform his legs into drills, charging at BBJ with flying kicks and sometimes spinning and attempting to hit them. Like SAYU’s last form/Yinu’s last segment, his battle is a short one, if dodged and timed right. He will experience another malfunction due to his intense emotions, and can be knocked out when he is frozen in place trying to control himself.
EXTRA 1: Vesta was originally a J7 unit, which was supposed to be an indigo color. Due to Neon J later on limiting 1010 to five members, he had to scrap them.
EXTRA 2: Originally, Chroma went to Baracca mansion to ask Neon J for software upgrades for Barringer and Holsinger. While waiting, Chroma stumbled upon a powered down J7 and asked if they could have it. J7 told them that specific bot was off for good reasons, but with much insisting, Neon gave in to Chroma’s pleas, and even gave in to customizing J7 to Chroma’s liking (this resulted in Chroma paying J back by giving him any gem/metal materials he may need to fix/upgrade his own robots).
EXTRA 2.5: Chroma had the intent to have Vesta be customized to match them in some form (horns, diamond pupil, duo-toned palette).

Unpopular Opinion: Optimus Prime isn't a very good person and that he's too glorified. (expect TFA Optimus)
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
What can I say except that there are many, many Optimus'/Convoy's out there and making a general opinion on them just doesn't work.
But I couldn't think of any Optimus I experienced who wasn't deep down a good person - lets make a roll call shall we? (includes all shows except RB and RBA + Bayverse)
G1 Optimus Prime - Good person, good leader, good father figure. Is forgiving towards wrong-doers without being a pushover. Couldn't think of anything he does that is sketchy
Beast Wars Optimus Primal - He has a harsh personality, hits Rattrap on the back of his head when the Rat talks bullshit and can get feral against his own teammates when they are being assholes like Depth Charge - but all in all, he is still a good leader and a good person. He simply has a more down-to-earth personality and a no-bullshit attitude.
He only ever reacts angrily because his team do stupid and jerkass stuff, but he is never unreasonable.
When he gets angry, you know why and you get why.
Also, he gave Dinobot a chance as a Maximal two times, so he too has a forgiving nature. And his dynamic with Depth Charge shows that he isn't petty either. ("I don't like him much either, but he's still a Maximal.")
He also had a nice moment with Blackarachnia in which he assures her they won't do anything about her coding against her will and that she is safe with them.
Beast Wars II Lio Convoy - The only thing you could call him out for is for refusing the father role when he found out he has a son. It took him half the show to actually call Lio Junior his son, but it made for a nice story! Also, he was willing to make peace with Galvatron in the show, showing his forgiving nature.
Beast Wars Neo Big Convoy - The shy and awkward one! He's a treat who learns to become a good teacher and leader with the help of his students, and he had this moment in which he tried to save Magmatron's life from Unicron. He is a hero with a strong sense of justice who needed to learn about proper teamwork and friendship and it's a really simple and sweet story.
Beast Machines Optimus Primal - This dude is such a trainwreck and I cannot in good conscious say he was always on the right side of things, I admit that.
The way the show treated the Vehicons was a little sketchy, because the Maximals technically became hypocrits, especially when it was about Silverbolt.
Forcing the "techno-organic is the real way to be" unto the non-organic characters feels a little weird, because the show never properly showed us why being without an organic side is supposed to be so bad. (And this matters because the good vs evil conflict isn't properly connected to the techno vs organic plot).
So this Oppy you can make the point that he isn't all that good as he pretends to be in his preachy cult leader role.
RiD01 Optimus Prime/Fire Convoy - Listen, this is the most naive and cute Optimus out there. This dude was willing to let Decepticons into their base just because they were like "We are good now :)" without even checking first.
His dynamic with his jerkass twin Magnus supports that - he doesn't want to fight his brother! The dude fucking pushes him off a cliff and he still tries to reason with him and doesn't fight back at all!
Don't you ever dare call this Prime a bad person, he's precious! xD
Armada Optimus Prime/Convoy - This is the dude who goes fucking feral at the end and shows just how much hatred and anger a Prime can store - but really just towards the end! The rest of the show he's your typical leader who doesn't do anything bad.
And when he made mistakes, he corrected them.
The fact that he always had this hatred and rage that he pushed aside all the time is the most interesting thing about this Prime, but even that doesn't make him a secretely bad person, because he still doesn't do anything bad. He's just an angry boi.
Energon Optimus Prime/Grand Convoy - This is technically the same Prime as Armada, and for once that shows - that anger Prime showed at the end of Armada is still present here and shows up a few times, especially when it's about Unicron.
But just like in Armada, he doesn't do anything bad.
He even tries to save Shockblast, the jerkiest jerk of the entire show, from Unicron's influence! And did just that with Galvatron at the end as well with the full intend to sacrifise himself to save everyone, including the Cons.
Cybertron Optimus Prime/Galaxy Convoy - My favourite Prime of them all - this Prime is just a damn Papa Bear! He will be considerate and loving towards his men, but if you bully his kids, you'll catch his hands bro.
He's bit a stoic dude, but shows compassion and kindness when he needs to.
He doesn't do anything sketchy either, and lets the few remaining Cons be part of the Transformers society in the end, despite their misdeeds before.
TFA Optimus Prime - The one you say is the only good Prime? Guess so, he's a good person as well! He makes mistakes (like insulting his team) but learns and grows from them.
But mate - he isn't a better person than any of the other Prime's I just listed. The only difference between TFA Prime and the other Primes so far is that TFA Prime is a narrative underdog who you are supposed to feel pity for.
All the other Prime's are leaders in a leader role, so just from a narrative standpoint, you don't feel the same sympathy for them as you do for TFA Prime.
But being an underdog doesn't translate to being a better person. The Joker in the Joker movie is also an underdog, but no one says he's a good person and that everything he does in this movie is justified.
TFA Prime just goes through more harsh shit that isn't Megatron and that's it. He isn't being a better hero or person for that.
TFP Optimus Prime - Yeah, I saw the opinion that him being too forgiving towards Megatron in the past is a flaw and that he cares more about this one silver shark more than about the safety of the universe - to which I say: WHEN???
This is a thing Ratchet accuses him off! But I couldn't remember a single scene in this show in which Optimus does, in fact, let Megatron go when he had the chance to kill him!
They always fought to the death when they did and Megatron surviving wasn't because Optimus was too nice. He's not Son Goku peeps.
And I have my issues with TFP Prime and how his characters is written, but being a secretely bad person aint it. He isn't a bad person.
If this is also about Starscream - he has every right to not trust Starscream. No one should trust Starscream! Starscream doesn't exist to be trusted by anyone.
You cannot call Prime a bad person because he elects to not trust the notorious backstabber, who, as Prime himself as pointed out, only does things for his own gain.
Also, he did try to make peace with Starscream after Megatron's "Death", and Starscream refused.
Is it about him destroying the Omega Lock? Nothing wrong with that! He chose to save Earth and all its Humanity over restoring a dead planet! Dead planet stays dead, alive planet stays alive. No one died by his decision to destroy the Omega Lock - but a whole ass planet would have died if he hadn't.
Like bro - I am not a big sucker for TFP Prime, but all these points I see floating around to prove that he is actually a bad person are kinda weird and biased.
Why should he have given Starscream a chance? To get backstabbed and used??? Which we know would have happened because this is fucking Starscream we are talking about??? A dude who doesn't care about Earth in the slightest and was happy about it being destroyed? Who only cares about power and winning this war, which is why he goes back to Megatron???
Should have sacrifised Earth? Would that have made him a true hero???
RiD15 Optimus Prime - This TFP Prime, just sterner, weaker and ready to start beef. But ultimately still a good guy.
Bayverse Optimus Prime - Here you got a Prime who kills his enemies! For anyone saying that TFP Prime is bad for not killing Megatron when he could, do you at least like Bayverse Prime for doing just that? Three times???
Even though he kills all his enemies, I never saw that as him being evil. He just doesn't give second chances. And it was refreshing to see a hero who actually does get rid of his enemies before they can do more shit.
He aint the nicest bot in town, but in the end he still did the heroic thing.
Movie 4 even gave him an arc about losing his faith in humanity and not wanting to help them anymore, but in the end he still does because his Barn Husband Cade convinces him to.
Good man I say, good man!
Prime Wars Optimus Prime - He tried to stop Windblade from making a mistake that would end in war with an emphasis on Windblade herself - saying that war is horrible and he doesn't want her to go through the same thing.
He then decides to help her anyway when he learns what the stakes are, is giving Megatron a second chance, keeps being on friendly footing with the dude and dies in an attempt to destroy the bad guy.
All in all, a good boy!
Cyberverse Optimus Prime - He forbids his soldiers from taking Energon from a foreign planet because the local fauna need it to survive - he constantly tries to do peace talks and doesn't give up on them - He dances in front of his crew to cheer them up - he shows remorse about what happened to Wild Wheel and tries to make things right again - he holds the dead Megatron in his arms and calls him his old friend-
Nothing bad about this home boy!
War for Cybertron Optimus Prime - he fucks up the whole damn time, but he has good intentions! He's a flawed individual who realises what his mistakes are!
Making mistakes, even as grand as his, doesn't make him a bad person!
So, no - I don't agree that Optimus is bad person and I also don't agree that TFA Prime is a better person than any other Prime.
Almost all these Prime's do good things, protect life, try to choose peace over conflict at least once and have a forgiving nature (even Bayverse Optimus, as he forgives humanity) - that all good guy qualities for me!
What more do you want from him to be a good person? Be nice to Starscream off all people???
Also, what do you even consider to be "too glorified"??? The newest media like WFC doesn't even depict him as a good leader because he fucks up so bad.

Lost Light/Rodimus
Notes: No, I don’t mean the crew. Unedited bc I’ve already spent way more time on this crack fic than I meant to. Rated G, no warnings apply, 2K.
---
It wasn’t Brainstorm’s fault, entirely.
“How the hell did you make a metrotitan spark?”
Just mostly.
“Well, it’s actually an extremely complicated, delicate, precise procedure,” Brainstorm said as they ran for their lives through shifting, narrowing corridors, Rodimus’ engine gunning to keep up with the jet. “It’s something other scientists have been trying to crack since before the war started, but between the exact measurements of the photonic supercrystal and the pattern of coding charges, no one else ever managed to—”
“Okay, forget how!” Rodimus shouted. “I don’t care about how! Or why! Or even at what point you decided to make a massive t-cog to go with it—”
“Actually, Perceptor cracked that one.”
“—or how you got it past Riptide and the rest of security! I don’t care!” A wall appeared front of them; Rodimus swerved around it while Brainstorm pulled into a neat roll. A wingtip brushed Rodimus’ roof. “Assuming we survive this any other way than First Aid scraping our pancaked frames off a random corridor wall, you’re going to tell the whole story to Megatron, and he can use all the practice he’s had with me to tell you exactly how terrible an idea this was.”
“Pancaked?”
“Earth term. Watch out!”
The hallway to the shuttle bay disappeared behind two shifting plates, and Rodimus had just enough time to brake and avoid being crushed. Brainstorm pulled up and transformed, landing at Rodimus’ side.
“Oh, this isn’t good,” he said.
“No kidding?” Rodimus angled his mirrors to look around, but every glance just revealed fewer directions to escape to. “We’re trapped.”
“Not that,” Brainstorm said. “We’re in the abdomen.”
“Belly of the ship, sure.”
“In root mode, the Lost Light’s power core is situated in the lower decks, under multiple layers of plating and insulation to keep the heat from frying everyone around it.” Brainstorm traced a small circle on the plating just underneath his cockpit, then drew it up, toward his chest. “When Perceptor was designing the transformation sequence, though, we couldn’t quite work out how to transport the core with all its extra plating. So, we just, hm, put a pin in it.”
Rodimus stared.
“So, what you’re saying is—”
Brainstorm pointed to the ceiling.
“The power core is one level above us right now. As soon as the transformation sequence is completed, it’s going to come online. The Lost Light’s designed to handle that kind of output, but not standard Cybertronians.”
“So, right now, this moment, we’re standing in the smelter, waiting for it to come on.”
“More like in front of the smelter after the blast doors have malfunctioned, but yeah.”
“Okay!” Rodimus revved his engine. “Well, that’s no good! We’re getting out of here.” He glanced around again. The walls were thick, but there had to be a weakness somewhere. “Don’t you have a drill gun? Or a drill you reformatted into a gun that can still be used as a drill?”
“I have a regular gun.”
“You do not.”
“I do!” Brainstorm insisted, pulling the standard issue pistol from subspace. “I was just about to see if I could do something about the problem of a finite ammo capacity (spoiler, I could’ve) when Light’s t-cog started spinning. I have others on me, but nothing that’s gotten the Perceptor stamp yet.”
“Everything else you’ve got will kill us if we fire it?”
“Might,” Brainstorm corrected, “they might kill you. Percy just hasn’t had time to test them yet.”
“Okay, fine.” Rodimus glanced around once more, optics falling on one feature he’d thus far overlooked. “You know what? We can work with this.”
It’s a simple fact that if you’re desperate to have floor-to-ceiling windows along the vehicle-accessible corridors of your miles-wide spaceship, they’re going to need to be reinforced. Heavily. A full round of shots fired at point-blank from a non-infinite pistol might be enough to get a crack in it, but that’s about it.
Of course, if you then ram that crack with a Matrix-armored sports car dropped from the undercarriage of a speeding jet, you might get somewhere.
Rodimus hit the window bumper-first, vibrations from the impact traveling in both directions throughout his frame. Whatever he was feeling, though, the window was having a much worse time: the crack stretched and exploded, shards of glass whipping out into the empty density of space. Rodimus went with them, and for a brief second he feared he would never stop going, before strong arms and the sound of thrusters secured him.
::We’re alive!:: Brainstorm’s comm crackled to life in his audial. ::And assuming at least a couple people listened to Minimus’ instructions, we should be looking at a good—oh frag.::
::What? How bad is it?:: Rodimus tried to angle his mirrors, but two teal wings blocked his view.
::It’s fine! Don’t worry!::
::That’s my ship, Brainstorm, of course I’m going to worry!::
::It’s alright, Rodimus.::
::Who was—::
A white hand appeared in front of them, large enough that Rodimus could have done donuts on its palm, large enough to punch a moon clear through. Brainstorm’s thrusters were straining to slow them down while Rodimus’ emergency brake slammed on, but momentum seemed committed to mashing them like a reverse rustbug.
The hand shifted, flipping over so the palm was underneath Rodimus, scooping up until his tires were just skidding across the metal surface. Forgetting to release his brake, his swerved before he came to a stop, swinging around and taking in the full view of his ship as, with a final ripple, her plating shifted into place.
She glowed. From the fuel rods around the corona of her helm and the winding lanes of windows around her arms, legs, and sides, light streamed from her, but not so much that she hurt to look at. Her optic band was a solid magenta and, Rodimus suspected, unseeing, but even that gave off a light that drew the eye, even as Rodimus felt the increased pressure of the hand lifting them up. In their ascent, they passed her chestpiece, the bow of the ship, and through the viewscreen Rodimus saw a decent portion of his crew, staring back out at him.
They came to a halt in front of her faceplate, and from this distance Rodimus could see the wavering patterns of optical lights, perhaps attempting to generate an expression. Ratchet would demand a look at Perceptor’s coding, he thought, a moment before the Lost Light’s voice returned.
::Hello, Rodimus, Brainstorm.::
::You gave her a comm suite?:: Rodimus asked, glancing at Brainstorm.
::Didn’t you check the ident?:: Brainstorm returned. ::She’s using the communications hub.::
::Oh.:: He glanced at her again. ::Can you access all of our major systems like that?::
::Yes.::
::Cool. Neat.:: An independent Cybertronian with the ability to quantum jump. And they’d been doing so well staying off the bad side of this reality’s Galactic Council.
::Do you have a name?:: he asked.
The optic lights wavered, shifting without meaning.
::Of course,:: she said. ::Drift named me Lost Light.::
Rodimus spluttered.
::How do you know that?::
::I have complete access to all in-network records,:: she said. ::My ‘memories’ extend as far back as my registration five million years ago, though they become more comprehensive within the last several decades, starting with the commencement of your quest.::
::Anything anyone ever dispersed via in-house networks, saved to a private console, or was automatically logged by the systems is up for grabs,:: Brainstorm said. ::Makes introductions pretty simple, at least.::
::Sounds like a fancy way of saying she’s got the worst possible first impression of everyone, but sure, that’s an optimistic way of looking at it.:: Brainstorm had climbed off him, so he transformed and took two steps forward. ::I’m Rodimus, your co-captain. Though, you already seem to know that.::
::Yes. I know all of you.:: For a moment, Rodimus thought they were moving again, but it was the large helm tilting forward. ::Thank you, by the way, Brainstorm. Though I unfortunately agree with Minimus Ambus’ preliminary assessment of your actions, I do appreciate this opportunity to be alive.::
::Like creator, like creation, I guess!::
::Wait, you talked with Minimus?:: Rodimus asked.
::Of course. I’m speaking to everyone right now,:: Lost Light said. ::I’ve been looking forward to this.::
::Wow. You’re either going to be Swerve and Misfire’s missing trinemate, or their biggest competition.::
::I do not find either of those options appealing.::
::Oh, yeah, that’s fine!:: He waved his hands. ::Just a joke. You can do whatever you want, now, you’re your own bot. Well, within reason, I guess. We might need to make another new officer position for you, and then—::
::I will continue to perform my duties, Rodimus. You have no need to worry in that regard.::
::Oh, good.:: Rodimus’ spoiler sagged and a few bubbles of trapped air escape his vents. Brainstorm’s scheme hadn’t dehomed them, at least.
::If you wouldn’t mind hearing it, I do have a request.::
Rodimus’ spoiler twitched back up.
::Sure!:: he said. ::After everything we’ve put you through, we owe you, huh?::
::I would prefer you not consider it that way,:: she said. The connection crystalized and strengthened into a private transfer as Lost Light cleaved Brainstorm into his own channel. ::After reviewing the records, I find I admire you, Rodimus.::
He stared.
::Oh?::
::Despite what you call a poor first impression, I have observed a crew that cares for each other and looks after its most vulnerable, with you as the spark that inspires such communal behavior. You act for the good of others, you encourage selflessness and self-improvement. Does that sound correct?::
There was nothing to hide behind on the palm of her hand. That observation could not kill Rodimus’ instinct to flee.
::I, uh. I don’t know?::
A flicker around the optic band again.
::Oh. My apologies. I have only just started to engage in pattern recognition, and it is possible my assessment is—::
::It’s fine!:: Rodimus assured. ::Sorry, you did fine. Um, yeah, I guess you could say all those things about me. Not everyone would, but if that’s what the logs are telling you, you should trust your instincts. Maybe just like, make sure to update them with your own observations?::
::Acknowledged.:: There was a pause, and Rodimus imagined she was sorting the suggestion among her priority trees. ::I will maintain my assessments as an ongoing process. However, if I am utilizing my initial understanding of each crew member as a basis to form a more informed conception of their character, then it is logical to assume that there must be some element of validity to my initial evaluations, correct?::
::Uh, sure?::
::Excellent.:: Her whole visor brightened, a straightforward positive that must have been easier for her programming to calculate than the emotions it had been trying to convey before. ::Then it is not unreasonable for me to hold to my initial conviction that I admire you, Rodimus. If you have time, I would like to get to know you better.::
::Huh. Uh.:: He hated to make assumptions, but the way her visor sparkled seemed more coordinated now. ::Can you give me one moment?::
::Of course.::
He hopped into a channel so well worn it felt like sinking into his own thoughts.
::Rodimus? Are you okay?::
::I’m fine, Drift,:: he said. ::Just, uh, need some advice.::
::Just advice? Not a rescue? Rewind and Perceptor managed to map out a way down to the shuttle bay, if you need an out.::
::No, no,:: he insisted. ::I’m just… I really don’t want to assume anything, but I think it’s possible my ship just asked me out?::
::Oh, yeah.::
::Oh, yeah?::
::I mean, she did,:: Drift said. ::Before you and Brainstorm broke free, she commed everyone, introduced herself, told them her favorite thing she knew about them, then asked about you.::
::Do I… want to know what she asked about?::
::Depended on the person. Swerve got interrogated about whether you’re available.::
::Swerve?::
::The Lost Light Insider pegged him for a rumor monger and she ran with it.::
::Cool. Great.::
::Hey. Really, you okay up there? Tailgate’s halfway through the vents, we can come get you, if you need.::
Rodimus pointed his gaze down to the deck, though he was too far away to see anyone individually. It was possible the ship’s exterior cameras were still streaming to the command screens, in which case Drift would undoubtedly catch his disapproval.
::Please make sure Tailgate doesn’t get squished, I don’t need Cyclonus seeking vengeance against our ship.::
::Sure. But seriously, Rodimus, are you okay?::
Rodimus spun his wheels with a flick.
::I’m fine. I just… isn’t this, I don’t know, kind of taking advantage?::
::I mean, she asked you, and—wait, are you interested?::
His engine heated up and Rodimus started to pace.
::I don’t know! Maybe?::
::Aw, Rodimus!:: He could imagine Drift’s face: goofy smile, softly dimmed optics. ::Hang on, I’m patching Ratchet in.::
::No, hang on, you dont have to—::
::You’re saying yes?:: Ratchet demanded as the new connection crackled through.
::I don’t know,:: Rodimus insisted. ::I could? She’s attractive. And she knows a lot about me and hasn’t decided I’m worthless slag.::
::Rodimus,:: Drift chided.
::Hey, look, I’m not saying that about myself,:: he countered. ::Just that it’s a conclusion she could have come to, but didn’t. And I guess I kind of like that?:: He shrugged. ::I wouldn’t mind getting to know her. First new Cybertronian we’ll meet for a long time, you know?::
::Sure,:: Ratchet said. ::Follow her lead, but be up front about your expectations.::
::Both of you will have bots looking out for you,:: Drift promised. ::Seems like she and Nautica are already hitting it off pretty well.::
::Alright.:: Rodimus smiled. ::Okay, thanks guys. I think I can handle it from here.::
::Sure you can,:: Drift said.
Rodimus cut the call and switched back to Lost Light’s channel. Brainstorm was wandering around behind him, still engaged in his own animated conversation with his creation.
::Still with me?:: he asked.
::Of course.::
::Great,:: he said, offering her a smile and a flicker of his headlights. ::So, yeah, I’m down to spend more time together.:: He leaned down until he was sitting, crosslegged, on her open palm, brushing the smooth metal with his own hand. ::You can tell me all about what it was like that time we were getting chased by space pirates.::
::I look forward to it,:: she said. The platform of her hand drifted closer, until Rodimus could have reached out and brushed his fingertips against his facemask. He could have felt afraid, then, but he didn’t. Instead, he felt a warm light in his spark as he regarded Light, the familiarity and comfort that came with meeting an old friend face to face for the first time.

Fun idea I had this morning but I want to share with you guys for fun.
NSR GUARDIAN ANIMAL AU
Gist of AU is that someone/something is born with a tiny, magical animal that accompanies them.
Think Golden Compass but everything gets a animal, and the animals also act as magical instruments.
Imma call these creatures "Notels".
Qwasa energy is the lifeblood of these creatures, of which means the world is rampant with energy. Drawback is that the city's blackouts are caused by a lack of artists openly preforming for the energy to freely flow.(Unknown to NSR)
NSR are the major power to Vinyl City due to their rare instance of multiple/being bigger than average Notels.
Buildings have Notels that act as protector to their home (confined to that one space). They stay until the home is demolished, they will continue to exist to supply their home(s) with energy until they are exhausted of all musical resources.
Security bots have their own Notels, but the animals are smaller, chibi versions that focus their energy on keeping their mechanical holders charged at all times. They can hop onto other bots if their initial bot is destroyed in combat and will scurry off to new energy sources if there is no other bots around.
Human(oid) figures have more normal sized Notels that turn into various instruments that match up to their talents. They can also turn into other objects, but Notels are more music focused.
Non-music Notels are often referred as Nolls.
TIME TO HOP TO THE CAST AND PLOT
Bunk Bed Junction!
The two are still a band, but their sewers becomes a underground cavern that has old scriptures that depicts the more open, free flowing energy of Notels. They wish to join NSR in hopes of opening up the freedom of performance to other artists.
Pretty much like the OG B2J, but their focus is changed a bit to help Notels become stronger beings to help Vinyl City climb out of the black outs.
As Vinyl City keeps getting the blackouts and music tastes have all become selective, many Notels have started disappearing due to their respective genres starting to die out in the EDM dominate city.
Mayday's Notel is a rat! A smart creature that came to her in early age, it turns into her guitar. It stays perched in her hair and loves the food from Aunty, as to why B2J are regulars.
Aunty's Noll is a octopus, that turns its tentacles into various cooking utensils. I thought you might like to know.
Zuke's Notel ia Ellie! The little alligator uses their back scales as Zuke's drums and fangs as drumsticks! Ellie is still an integral support character as she and Zukes share the only braincell in the group.
Kill, who pops in after DJSS, has a armadillo Noll that turns into his phone.
First Artist, DJ Subatomic Supernova.
The first NSR artist they face off against is DJ Subatomic Supernova. His Notel is a dog, a nod to Laika, the first animal to ever orbit the Earth.
The Notel is made of pure Qwasa, with rings around its tail that turn into the scratch discs DJSS uses with a custom turntable. These rings will always burn up and become compact Qwasa stars that fizzle out over time. These stars are the main energy source for Club Planetarium.
The dog is massive, about the same size as DJSS. It's breed is best described as a greyhound.
Second Artist, Sayu.
She herself is a Notel!!! Kura Kura Stream Hun was once a interactive hologram theater that fell under, and Sayu was once a little fish Notel that swam around the building. When the place went under, she was alone for years.
It wasn't until the new NSR kids found Sayu and evolved their idea of reviving their old favorite building into a giant aquarium for Sayu to preform. And in debut of her inclusion to the NSR artists, Sayu evolved into the mermaid you see today!
The kiddos do have their own Notels that work as the aquatic buddies to Sayu!
Tila writes Sayu's lyrics and the beta singer of all the mermaid's song. She's the only one in the four creators that has a Notel. That is a vibrant green-red beta fish that turns into a small microphone for Tila to sing into.
Remi is the artist of the group, his Noll is a sunfish that uses its body as a drawing surface. When drawn on with a new design, it will swim around Sayu and act as a "magical transformation" of sorts.
Dodo is the choreographer for Sayu, teaching her the moves for her shows. His Nolls are mossballs. Tiny little things that act as the tail in Dodo's routines to help Sayu understand the whole of her dancing!
Sofa, the editor, has eel nolls that work in the background with him to navigate the theater and control lighting and setting for Sayu's preformance. He's the one with the strongest Nolls as their energy helps fluctuate the surroundings.
Third Artist, Yinu!
Her district is unique as she is a classical prodigy that seems to be the only other genre kept actively alive in Vinyl City.
Her Notel is a gosling, who uses their feathers as piano keys. The keys break apart over time as Yinu and her Notel are not fully grown, so she does most of her preformances with a physical piano until then.
Her mother's Noll is a spider, who uses their webs to create iron bars to trap B2J.
During Yinu's last stand in battle, her piano is broken already, so she and her Notel work together. But her Notel is near exhausted of feathers and has to stop when B2J reach her. They stay to help Yinu calm down and wait for her mother to shrink back down. They leave when the mother and daughter play the broken piano, helping Yinu's Notel regain energy.
Fourth Artist, 1010!
Neon J has a Moose Noll. I’m not sorry. It shrunk a bit since he became a cyborg to help charge his body. Back then it had to rely on tricking Neon J to sleep with soft lullabies to tune out the war going on, but now it can choose to stop feeding him its energy to force him to sleep.
White/Rin has a tiny wolf Notel that turns into a long microphone stand, he uses it for solos. Other than that, its a little wolf puppy that chases Rin around to keep him charged.
Red/Zimelu has a cockatiel Notel that turns into a microphone/drumstick combo. A single long, thin stick that Zim can sing into to generate a flat disc that sharpens into a circular saw, the handle acting as... the handle.
The cockatiel loves perching on his arm and nibble his ascot.
Yellow/Haym has a rabbit Noll! It has a reaaaalllyy fluffy tail that pop off into pompoms! Haym loves using them to boost the moral of his team! When not in use, it lays in the faux ascot of Haym’s- he really had a hoodie hood for his rabbit to stay in!
Blue/Purl-Hew has a Snake Noll that extends it’s tail into a thread-thin whip. He uses it to grab his teammates out of danger. The snake loops around his neck and has constant yawns since Purl-Hew doesn’t exert a lot of energy outside of work.
Green/Eloni has a Cat Notel! It turns itself into cat ears headphones with a little microphones. When not doing anything else, it lops in the circle on Eloni’s head and cat naps there. He has trouble keeping his head straight sometimes, but he can never remove his precious chunk. 💚
When B2J crash their party, Mayday is terrified of Eloni’s cat and Purl-Hew’s snake cause she thinks they might eat her rat (Who she has gone to call Chebbar. Like Cheddar, but with a B).
When 1010 are nearly destroyed, all the Notels/Nells freak out in hopes of repairing their respective boys, but this only makes things work as they are what cause 1010 to ultimately explode.
When Neon J comes to the scene- atop 1010 limousine. No matter where I fight whether near or far- I bleed in the name of NSR-
When Neon J comes to the scene, he and his MEGA MOOSE NOLL (who turns into a rapier with many disfigured blades that hut out like antlers.
The Mother Machine that keeps spawning 1010′s new bodies has its own Noll that is respectively a doe. All of 1010′s Notels/Nolls rush to their protection. Moose dad and Deer mom are PISSED.
All the Notels and Nolls cling to their beaten owners after the fight, the doe keeps close to Neon J when the Mother Machine is destroyed.
Fourth Artist, Eve.
Eve has two Nolls, peacocks that are pink and white respectively. They turn into her masks or Humor and Tragedy.
When one is used, the other uses its feathers to construct large arms and hands that chase B2J around. When they swap, all hands and arms melt into puddles that can still cause damage if stepped in. They evaporate after a little bit.
The peacocks steal Eve and try to run into the white void when she’s defeated, pecking Zuke when he catches up to them and talks to Eve. They eventually deescalates the tension and pet them while they talk.
They follow B2J outside the studio in order to combine their feathers into a key that unlocks the gate to NSR tower.
Final Artist, Tatiana.
Tatiana has a Noll, a steel gray hummingbird. It looks dead a majority of the time. It may look rejuvenated one second, but the next it will look drained of all life. Tatiana refuses to acknowledge her Noll’s problem.
When B2J encounters Tatiana, they battle with their music which seems to revive the Noll. That catches Mayday’s attention.
Mayday goes in to shame Tatiana for neglecting her Noll’s need for Rock, revealing B2J’s motive for auditioning in the first place.
To save the Notals, dying form the lack of their genre being played and oppressing artists that don’t fall in line of EDM.
Tatiana is caught off guard by the revelation, but listening to Mayday’s complaint, she turns her Noll into the clock hand blades she battles with. Using the rock music played by B2J to fuel her Noll’s power.
Mayday and Zuke are forced to drop their Rock solo and battle with EDM mixed with their tunes. The combination boosting their power enough to overcome Tatiana ‘s attack.
As the battle concludes, the clock tower releases Tatiana’s guitar, who reveals to a phoenix Notel that has been supplying the tower with the majority of its power since Tatiana abandoned her old persona, Kul Fyra.
Kliff comes into the scene, and using Tatiana’s weakened Notel and Noll against her, takes control of them to grab the last bit of power from NSR.
All the defeated artists call in to see Tatiana, beaten. It is there that everyone is then told how the lack of genres have been killing off the Notels and causing the blackouts. But Tatiana refuses the idea... then her Noll collapses.
Mayday and Zuke rush to the Noll’s aid and play their music for the poor thing. Kliff chews Tatiana out for not seeing the obvious. He misses the hypocrisy in his speech, as he only idolizes Rock as the definitive music genre of Vinyl City.
During their fight, Kliff uses his Noll to control the tower’s system and the satellite starts to fall.
The finale continues as normal, the districts are returned to their respective Artists, and Tatiana puts the call out for artists of all genres to come to the Grand Qwasa to preform like never before.
Kliff, seeing a error in his ways a little too late, gives back Tatiana’s Notels and leaves his own Noll behind with her.
Lyrics screamed, horns blasted, drums punctured, string snapped.
The blow of musical energy surges the Grand Qwasa as the whole city glows in a light long missed as every single artist plays their heart out.
But it works, the tower transforms with the help of its Noll (a metronome) and flings the satellite back into orbit.
Mayday is given Tatiana’s offer to join NSR and refuses, and instead is gifted her Notel.
Tatiana’s Noll is fully revived and reveals to be another phoenix, still steel gray but it’s body burning brighter than ever before.
The announcement is made to restructure NSR, and in so, Vinyl City is opened alive once more to revived and brand new Notels.
ANNNNNNNNDDDD that’s the end! Thanks for reading my rambling of a AU that doesn’t change a lot but was fun to make!
Byyyeeeeeee!!!!!!!

I’m Still Here
Many of you may have been asking yourself where did Silver go? Is anyone still working on QONQR? I admit I’ve been very quiet the past year and from the outside, it looks like not much is going on.
Before I give my QONQR update I want to share a major accomplishment for me. I’m a little less of a hoarder than I was a month ago. As the 11th year anniversary approached, I decided I had too much old QONQR merchandise I needed to get in the hands of my players. However, I hate shipping. I should be the spokesperson for one of those shipping providers that make shipping easy because I hate doing it so much. Many of you know that the player Rayndel has an Etsy store where she sells QONQR merchandise with my permission. I sent her a 65lb (30kg) box of QONQR stuff. Coffee cups, T-shirts, dog tags and stickers. She is liquidating all of it for me. You can find it all right here.

2020 and 2021 have been challenging for most people, and I’m no exception. Both our kids are off to college. We are getting older and so are our extended families. Medical issues become more frequent for us and them. The stress of the pandemic doesn’t help. There are days when I can sit at my computer all day, and never write a line of code. Things are hard, they impact our ability to work as hard as we once did.
A little over two weeks ago, QONQR hit its 11th birthday. The milestone passed quietly. I always spend time reflecting on how QONQR has changed my life and the stories you’ve shared about how it has changed yours. We’ve built something great together. Together we keep it going.
Despite outward appearances. Things are happening at QONQR. I am working, albeit at an admittedly slow pace. I’ve let go of the stress of pushing QONQR as fast as I can, and instead I’m working on QONQR at a pace that is comfortable. It is important to me and my family that I end my day without being drained of all my energy by the awful decisions and quality that Apple and Google hand me every day.
The next release of QONQR will include the following features. Many of these are mostly done, so I’m happy to share them, with the caveat that I have no idea when these will actually hit the store. Tons of testing is still needed.
New Sync Lock Rules
Sync lock will now last much longer, perhaps a week or even a month before it automatically expires. Along with that Sync Lock Protection will also last longer. The more times you gain sync lock protection, the longer it will last. We want to protect legitimate family members from daily locks, but also want to avoid situations where multi-scoper can get infrequent help to unlock an army of devices and accounts. In addition to longer locks, Sync lock may also hurt resource collection with your bases depending on how play testing goes.
As with everything pertaining to multi-scoping, it is a blurry line between stopping those who play unfair, and those that are punished for inviting family and friends to play.
Notifications
I have wanted push notifications for most of the past 10 years. In fact, we were very close to having them implemented about 5-7 years ago, but Google changed their push notification system. We used a unified messaging system created by Microsoft to push to both Google and Apple simultaneously. There were incompatibilities between the new and the old Google system for a long time. We gave up on trying to finish that implementation back then, waiting for Google and Microsoft to get their stuff fixed, and it was years before it became a priority again.
I spent most of the past 3-4 months working on notification. This area is quite possibly one of the worst technical implementations I’ve had to work with in all my time working in software. For example, if you kill an iPhone application, you also remove the ability to get push notifications until the next time you start the app. It appears to be almost random when Android will decide to beep your phone when receiving a notification, and when it will be silently added to the notification center. For both Apple and Google, the documentation is frustratingly inaccurate or out of date. There are multiple different ways a notification can be processed depending on whether the application was terminated by the user, suspended by the operating system, in the background or in the foreground. Was the notification scheduled locally or sent from a remote server? Honestly, as a developer, it would be difficult to purposely design a worse system.
The good news is that I believe I have it working as good as it can possibly work. In the next release you will be able to enable or disable notifications as a whole, or selectively choose which notification you want to receive. Notifications will include: Atlantis, New Wire messages, Mentions in Chat and Forums, Bots and Bases Full.
A Major Overhaul to the Scope
The changes to Sync Lock mandated that overheat have additional logic to control bots and energy regeneration. More significantly, if we want to have a notification that your scope is full, so I needed to know exactly when the scope would be full. Currently your regeneration rate is based on the number of launches in the past hour. Launching a few seconds before or after an old launch rolls off that 1 hour mark can mess up the prediction of when you will be full again. To make that prediction accurately, without checking every minute to see, “Are my bots full now”, we changed the formula for when bots will be full, and scheduled a notification based on that time.
The new regeneration is very similar to the old, but we predict you may get 1 or 2 more launches per hour. I’m hedging the formula towards more not fewer launches to make sure this is seen as a positive change.
As long as we are messing with the scope, let’s talk about the Bot Regen Accelerator. Hard core players have pointed out that players who launch on a timer, always hitting the “optimal” launch interval, don’t gain any advantage when purchasing this $0.99 upgrade. In the new release this upgrade will reduce your overheat level by 1 level and you will never be in maximum overheat due to deploying bots. The impact of the upgrade will be noticeable by everyone with this change. The name of this upgrade will probably change to “Scope Coolant” or “Heat Diffuser”. Send me your name ideas.
Subscriptions, Ads and Elite Players
This is a change that probably won’t be in the next release, but it is something I’m thinking about before the end of the year. Apple has had a bug in their subscription logic for years. If you purchase a subscription on an iPhone, then get a new iPhone, you need to cancel the subscription in the App Store, then renew from your new phone. Apple keeps charging you, but the new device can’t see the subscription, so QONQR doesn’t know you are a subscriber. Why wouldn’t Apple fix this? Well Apple only takes half the percentage of a subscription after the first year. By making you start a new subscription, they can double their cut of the money you pay QONQR for the subscription. Another problem with subscriptions is that they result in many support requests because they honestly aren’t 100% reliable in either Apple or Google’s implementation.
Many people know that earlier in the year, Apple introduced a change to advertising that blocks tracking. This is great in theory, and I get it as a consumer that I don’t like to be tracked, but this tracker blocking also blocks my ability to make any revenue on advertising. Why would I continue to give away free advertising?
Elite players are those that have spent over $100 in QONQR over the life of their gaming experience. Over the years the benefits of being “Elite” have dwindled. Features have changed, and incentives have ended. I’d like to invest more time and energy to build features for players that continue to support QONQR but I think it makes more sense to lower the bar and make the benefits for “active” spenders.
With these three things in mind, there is a chance that QONQR will move to a monthly “pass” option rather than a subscription. There seems to be a trend with games, where players buy a monthly pass that offers benefits, rather than using subscriptions. Subscriptions are buggy and in the case of Apple, a shady business practice.
The same benefits available to subscribers would remain under the “pass”, but you would have to explicitly purchase the pass each month. Secondary missions may move to the “pass” model with non-pass players getting only a handful of secondary missions per month. Ads would be completely removed from the app in this scenario since they no longer generate much revenue.
What’s in the Plans for 2022?
If you have read my blog over the years, you know that Apple and Google make it harder and harder to stop cheating (primarily multi-scoping). It is being reported that Windows 11 will have the ability to run Android apps. I don’t know yet how that will impact QONQR, but I’m guessing it won’t be good. At best it will have no impact because I’ll be able to stop QONQR from running on Windows, at worst it could be a nightmare.
March 2022 will mark the 10 year anniversary QONQR hit the Apple App Store. I can say with a high level of confidence that QONQR is now the longest running location-based, multi-platform, mobile game.
Personally, I think 2022 needs to be a transformational year for QONQR. I’m not sure we can survive if the game doesn’t change. Apple, Google, and Microsoft have never cared about supporting mobile developers. Outrageous fees and abusive rules (recently acknowledged by the US Congress) have been part of the ecosystem from the start. There are dozens of apps that you can download from the official Google Play store that make it a simple tap to attempt to hack and manipulate an Android app, so players can do something the developer is attempting to prohibit. Once again Microsoft broke the tools I use to help secure the app from hackers, causing weeks of work to find a solution that would maintain the same level of security. Apple and Google both purposely hide information from developers that would help them ensure real people are using their apps instead of bots. They do this under the façade of privacy, but ignore simple solutions that could maintain privacy, while helping developers ensure the integrity of how their apps are used.
I’ve said for years, the only way to stop hackers and cheaters in QONQR is to make it irrelevant. That requires a major shift in gameplay. Together, you the players and me the developer, we need to decide if we want QONQR to have such a major shift. I don’t know what that shift would look like, but 2022 might be the year we figure it out.
2020 was a year of making sure QONQR can survive. Through tons of work that year, massive software rewrites and updates, I was able to cut the cost of hosting QONQR. Today the cost of hosting QONQR all year, matches what we spent in three months during 2019. So far 2021 has been a year of slow work toward significant improvements to the game, but without major strategic impact to your daily playing. I’ve taken my time to avoid burn out. I’m enjoying the pace of my current work week. It has been good for my family and me.
I’m not sure what 2022 will look like for QONQR yet, but I’m excited to try something new. Maybe we’ll break things, maybe we will create something ten times better than what we have had for the last decade. Time will tell. We’ll figure it out together.
Thanks for keeping the lights on.

I don’t believe in miracles
Chapter 1: This secret
She was speeding down the highway, a plain black vehicle, weaving around traffic where she safely could. In the driver’s seat, a woman with green eyes and messy black hair pulled back into a tight braid flickered in and out of reality minutely before stabilizing with a grimace. Bouncing excitably in the passenger seat was, unmistakably, a baby of a non-human race. Their fragile protoform was bare for the world to see with no armour to speak of. The seatbelt clenched tighter around the precious bundle of metal and youth, a gentle reprimand emanating from all around them. The young one stilled, but their little helm turned curiously to look back through the rear window.
From around several cars’ worth of space behind them, a silver car quickly approached. They were stalled by the traffic between them, for now.
~ Ray to Shawn. I’ve got someone on my tail. Evacuate through the ground bridge. I don’t want anyone hurt if I end up having to fight. ~
~ Shawn here. Gotcha, sunshine. Just come home, both of you. ~
The silent communication ended, and her engine revved as she sped up. An exit was coming up, and she wanted to give as little indication as possible as to her intentions. Her sensors let her know that the silver car was almost directly behind her now, doggedly matching her lane for lane. She wondered if it would try to run her off the road.
At the last possible second, she swerved onto the exit ramp, barely missing the barrier. She knew the other car would be forced to take the next exit or risk an accident to double back. In comparison to the other car, she wasn’t the greatest driver, but she was fiercely protective and maybe a tad reckless. Her passenger chirped in excitement, unaware of the danger they were in.
The woman’s brow wrinkled as she flickered in and out again. Not relaxing in the slightest, but not wanting to crash, she reluctantly slowed down. She may not see her pursuer anymore, but she wouldn’t put it past them to surprise her. She decided to take a roundabout way to the warehouse that was her target destination.
Perhaps luck was on her side because she made it without incident. Tapping into the controller that opened the door, she wheeled herself in and closed the door. She then encoded a request to the Gate Room. Soon, a portal opened in midair toward the back of the room. The dark vehicle hurried through with her enclosed passenger.

Once on the other side, the vehicle visibly sagged on its axels in relief. The woman in the driver’s seat blinked out of existence.
“Sunshine! You made it!” A man with long hair pulled back called from a nearby console. With a few more presses of his fingers to the on-screen keyboard, the portal closed behind her, and a loud humming from a nearby machine quieted.
The sound of shifting metal and displaced air filled the quiet, and the black car stood up. In its place was a feminine figure of softly curved metal and dark armour plating. Two black door-wings twitched anxiously behind her. Her pedes daintily stepped forward with the youthful bundle now held in her arms.
“Shawn,” she greeted the smiling human. The ‘baby’ chirred in curiosity at the man, though she held them firmly.
The man turned from the console, hands on his hips and no visible fear on his features. Kneeling her much larger form down, she let the curious bundle meet the man.
“And that must be our new kid,” he said gently, “Cute fella’. Hey there, little guy. I’m Shawn Jenkins. Everyone calls me Shawn, except for… well, you’ll meet them later.”
The young one simply stared for a second, and then chirped happily, reaching small hands to touch him. The large, metal woman muttered a “No touchy,” and quickly stood up again. The looks of disappointment from both the baby and the man caused her to laugh.
“I can’t tell who’s more disappointed, you or the kid.”
She rocked said kid slowly, smiling down at her young one apologetically. “Sorry, my little one. Not until I’m sure that you’ve learnt to be gentle with humans.”
“I don’t mind. I’m not made out of glass, y’ know.”
“I know, Shawn. However, I don’t let any of my youngest interact with humans until they’ve gotten more control of their motor functions, just as a general rule. The cleanup is messy.”
It was a topic that had been discussed before, but no one wanted to argue with ‘mama bear’. Instead, Shawn shrugged, and the two headed toward the doors. A set of doors matching the estimated max heights of each species was available, though Shawn went toward the big door. They exited the building into a small but bustling community.
The buildings were big, but not reaching the heights of skyscrapers. This tight-knit community was sectioned into roughly three parts around a central power source, all within a tall dome-shaped forcefield protecting them from the raging storm outside its perimeter. The three sectors were: Industrial, Residential, and Business. Dividing the buildings and sectors were wide streets able to comfortably fit large vehicles moving both ways.
People, robotic and human alike, peppered the streets, sometimes hauling equipment or other supplies. Each one had their own set of tasks to fulfil, so they tended to move with purpose toward their destinations. Besides, no one wanted to be caught out in the cold, and boy it was cold outside.
They talked as they walked.
“I’m headed to the Nursery,” Ray said, “Where are you headed?”
“I’m going to grab some more people to help me with the crates in the warehouse.”
“You could com’ them. That way you wouldn’t need to leave the building.”
Upon closer inspection, every human could be seen wearing an earpiece of some sort. They came in all sorts of shapes and colours—some of them looked very much like earrings, and some like hearing aids—but everyone had a piece that served as the ‘speaker’ and then a ‘mic’ part (not always attached). It wasn’t just a fashion statement. Every earpiece was designed to look innocuous and perform as a communication device. There were a few public channels separating business and social. Then there were the private calls. They were all generally referred to as “the com”, or in other words the ‘communication servers’.
He shook his head. “Nah… I’ve been meaning to say hi to Brian anyway.”
She hummed in response, giving more attention to her young one who shivered in the cold. Transforming, she said goodbye to Shawn and hurried to Residential. Luckily, the Gate Room was on the border between Business and Residential, so the Nursery was practically next door.
This was done on purpose in case of evacuation. Most people were working in Business or relaxing at home, so it would be easy to quickly run to the Gate Room to be teleported to safety. The only problem was that the portion of the population working in Industrial would be the furthest from the gate room.

:: California, America ::
Sideswipe revved his engine in frustration. He was going in circles trying to find out where the strange bot/con could have gone to. The nearest district seemed to be mostly industry and warehousing... Not the worst place to hide, but it shouldn’t have been possible to be this good at hiding, not with the kind of radiation that the stranger was giving off. He knew he had to call it in.
~ Prime, I lost the unidentified Cybertronian. I followed their strange signature to what seems to be a set of warehouses, but the trail suddenly ends. There’s nothing here but scrap. ~
Optimus Prime was silent for a bit, then asked some questions.
~ Did they attempt to fight you or harm any humans? ~
~ They didn’t do either. They just fled as soon as they noticed me. ~
~ We will reconvene with the human soldiers. Send me the unidentified’s readings then. Prime out. ~
Sideswipe did a quick U-turn and headed back to the highway. The ‘con might’ve escaped this time, but now that he could identify them, they wouldn’t manage it a second time.
As he drove, Sideswipe spared a thought to his brother Sunstreaker, who he had been separated from since a mission at a Con compound on a very distant moon. They worked fine alone, but their teamwork was unmatched when it came to fighting. He knew if he were paired with his brother, there would be little chance for this new foe to escape.
Well, there was not much he could do about his brother. He could only hope that Sunstreaker would hear the transmission from Optimus Prime, wherever his brother is, and come to Earth. Though he imagined Sunstreaker would find this planet a little gross. It was covered in dirt particles and saltwater... not great for keeping clean and rust-free. Sunny was admittedly very vain.

A weekly meeting containing a small number of individuals was in session, and it was not going well. The current topic of discussion was the possibility of letting in some of the non-hostile aliens into their community.
Max Wilson, a tall and bulky man with shortly cropped dark hair and bronze skin, said on the verge of shouting, “The community has been safe over these past few years because we have kept to ourselves, kept it quiet. The only thing keeping us safe is our lack of presence in their war, Ray!”
“I realize that! But, as aliens on a planet that is mostly populated by humans that hate anything remotely different, don’t you think they could use a place to call home?”
“What about your babies, huh?!”
Despite the warmth of the central heating flooding the building, everyone shivered. The one person that didn’t was the so-called mama bear. She didn’t take insults to her babies or her ability to care for them lightly. She didn’t take threats lightly.
She asked coldly, “Where are you going with this, Max Wilson?”
He paused at the tone and backtracked a bit. “I’m just saying, they’re- they’re not going to like what you’ve been hiding from them this whole time. They’re not going to understand.” Max took a breath, and seeing as no one was stopping him, he continued, “And just think, what if we do allow a few in? They’re obviously going to want to share it with their friends.
What then? How can we possibly maintain our secrecy then?”
Reluctantly, someone else piped up in agreement, “Chief has a point. As soon as our secrecy is blown, we’ll be forced to choose sides in their conflict.”
“Not to mention various governments’ reactions to tech they could only dream of.”
“We’re gonna get nuked,” joked a pale, redheaded woman next to Ray.
Ray’s cold exterior melts a bit. It’s a running joke, admittedly a lame one, but the fact that her friend Linda (the readhead) was trying to ease the tension breaks through her anger a bit. Ray’s digits meet her metallic face with a small clatter that causes scattered laughter amongst the group.
Ray sighs, and then speaks with a surprisingly soft tone. “I get it, I really do. I want to preserve our way of life here as much as possible. This is not just an experiment, it’s a home, and I would never want to jeopardize that.”
They all sense a “but” coming, and the non-human continues...
“... However, you can’t possibly think that we were going to stay hidden forever. Eventually, through one of our own, overheard conversations, or governments piercing through the storm barrier... We have to be prepared for the eventuality that they’re going to know we’re here.”
The room was very silent.
Despite the cold, despite the lack of direct sunlight, despite the layers of secrecy that prevented them from sharing the existence of their home with anyone, and despite the many problems they faced daily, everyone present had chosen to be here because it was a chance to be accepted as who they were and be cared for despite it all. It was a chance for humans and non-humans to live together in a technology-enriched environment unlike anywhere else on earth. There was no real worry about money except for those that handled the collective finances, as most wants were handled by the finance crew. And because of the vetting of each member of their community, there was a feeling of safety that didn’t come with living ‘outside’.
There were many reasons to be upset about the idea of sharing all that with unknowns.
“How about this. We agree to let this go for now, as it seems there’s no pressing need for it right now. All I ask of you is to think about it. Please.”
Gradually, people started grumbling their assent.
“I think Max had some other issues to bring up, before everyone starts leaving,” Linda announced.
The rest of the meeting passed quickly without commotion.

The Nursery was a big building with many wide and tall rooms. From the front door there was the central room or rec room where all could mingle and play. Connected to that central room were the shower room, Ray’s bedroom, and the children’s ‘bedrooms’, the latter which contained multiple beds as well as a ‘couch’ and tables for relaxing or working. All of the bedrooms were a motley of kids of various stages/frames in order to ensure there would always be an older child for the younger ones to turn to in case Ray was not around. She called these groups ‘families’.
The room directly opposite the front door was one the children were not allowed in. The very first frames were kept in that room, some sparked and others not. Other than the electronic locking device on the door, there were alarms as well as monitoring equipment to add some security.
Ray swept her gaze across the living room, the excited baby babble bringing a smile to her metal face. Her children mostly understood English, though she knew that the youngest would still be talking in chittering, beeping, and chirring. She stepped cautiously around the young ones on her way to a couple of kids squabbling loudly. Putting a servo/hand on her black-plated hip, she eyed them quietly until they started to get out of hand. Mindful of the newly acquired child in her arms, she stepped between the children and pushed them apart, breaking up the scuffle they were getting into.
“This isn’t the first time I’ve had to separate you two,” she commented, disappointment thick in her voice, “you know, it makes me sad when my children fight.”
One of them, Moonrider, sulked. The other, Sunstorm, looked unrepentant and seemed to bristle in response.
“Tomorrow, I am assigning each of you to older siblings no longer living in the Nursery. I expect you to listen to them. If I hear good things about you from them, I won’t force you to continue working with them.” She wouldn’t let them do work that was too hard. Most punishments for rowdy youngsters would be either light cleaning or monitoring, quite boring jobs.
“No, please mama.” The previously sulking child now pleaded.
“Oh, whatever will I do? I am so sad. My children want me to be sad.”
“No, I’m sorry mama. Don’t be sad,” Moonrider said.
The other, bristly child looked over to her with a slightly guilty face.
With a sad look on her face, Ray crouched down to their level. “I could really use a hug right now.”
Two smaller bodies attempted to hug her, followed by more, and she cracked a smile above their tiny helms.

:: Somewhere in America ::
After the events in Egypt, Sam returned to college to finish his education. The Autobots returned to base, though after Egypt the human government was pressuring them a lot more than before. The Decepticon threat was not enough reason to continue as they were before, considering the All-Spark was gone as well as the harvester. Now the ever-looming government liaisons were pressuring them for weapons technology and using their status as aliens on a ‘human’ planet against them.
It seems some people were just determined to be intolerant. Was everyone like that? No, they had humans that really cared. But it was admittedly disheartening to see the negative responses from both government officials and civilians alike. Optimus Prime grit his dermas and held his helm high, however.
How long ago was it since he said Earth could be home? A few months? Years? After everything that’s happened, it felt much longer.

:: Unknown Location ::
Because of the tentative status of the aliens on the planet right now, Ray was reluctant to let her older children help out in the warehouses. She reflexively clenched and opened her servos again and again, super aware of the rifle just out of reach. Her human team working the warehouses said they would appreciate the extra muscle. It made sense for her sturdy, strong children to help with the heavy lifting. It would mean they wouldn’t have to rent and store as many forklifts. Things would be done much faster. It was also a chance to show them the world while being carefully watched by her human team, who had all promised her their safety.
Cycling air through her vents, Ray turned her attention back to the plot of land that would become a park. They had dug up and flattened the area with dirt, then piled the material she would need in neat stacks in the centre. It would be a greenhouse of sorts, temperature and humidity carefully controlled to encourage growth. The knowledge she had of the tech behind it wasn’t that complicated, so she didn’t foresee any problems.
Clapping her servos together with a clank, a small spark flashed over her digits. She stood in front of the metal and did a pulling motion with a servo. The metal seemed to almost melt or fall apart, tumbling outwards in little streams and flowing around her to where large beams were beginning to construct themselves. Pivoting on a heel strut, she raised her hand in a lifting motion as it built supportive arches and arches for the doors. Pivoting again, she reached for the glass and similarly called to it. It melted like ice to water and formed the outer shell of the greenhouse. Lastly, she used the leftover electronics and material to create the advanced system to control the climate inside the thinly walled park.
All in all, much faster than teaching her people how to make it themselves. Stretching idly, she looked over her work, scanning a few places to determine its integrity.
“That is cool every time I see it.”
Ray turned to see a familiar redhead with blue eyes, Linda Davies, one of her dearest friends. “Linda, I didn’t see you there.”
She smiled good-naturedly, “Yeah, you seemed pretty occupied. So, how’s the build?”
“Structurally, it is good. But I really don’t know how well the climate control turned out. We’ll have to run it for a day to see.” Ray sheepishly scratched the back of her helm with rounded digits.
Linda walked over to the controls, which came in two pieces of differing sizes for each specie. Going to the smaller one, she examined the screen and buttons.
“So, how does this work?”
Ray ambled up to the smaller control and pointed out how to adjust various things. It wasn’t too difficult, and soon Linda had set the temperature to be comfortable enough for a human to be without a jacket or sweater. Deciding this would be a good test, Ray set the humidity on the bigger control, and they waited for the temperature to start changing.
“This is nice. All it needs now is grass.”
Feeling slightly distracted, Ray hummed in agreement.
Eyeing her large, metal friend, the redhead asked, “Are you worried?”
“I’m always worried.”
“You know Jenkins and all them... they won’t let anyone hurt your kids.”
There was only silence on Ray’s part.
“Besides, they’re only going to stay near the warehouse. All the delivery is still handled by other companies.”
She slowly admitted, “Yes, that’s true...”

~ Incoming truck. ~
The whirr of transformations filled the air as the human workers made their way to the wide metal door. Things were going well for the warehouse crew. With help from the ‘bots, moving things through the ground bridge was a lot easier. It was a little messy until they got the hang of hiding whenever a delivery arrived, but once the truck left, the stacked boxes were lifted into the ground bridge. They still required the use of machinery for the delivery trucks, and it wasn’t as fast as the ‘bots moving things straight from the truck into the warehouse, but there wasn’t much they could do about it unless they made their own deliveries.
A red-blue Peterbilt truck backed carefully but skillfully toward the warehouse door. Once the truck was in position, the driver’s side door popped open and a fairly young but muscled man stepped out. He shot the workers a half-hearted greeting before opening the trailer door.
“So, what do you guys do with all this metal?”
Eyeing the curious truck driver with a niggling suspicion, it’s Shawn that answered with practiced ease, “The company stores materials for construction.” Before the driver can ask another question, he immediately asked, “How long have you been a truck driver?”
There was a small pause, before the driver smiled and answered, “About 3 years and counting.”
“You’re pretty young. What’s your name, kid?”
The driver laughed, before trying to walk through the warehouse door. The small feeling of suspicion started blaring a loud warning and Shawn intercepted with a sharp smile.
“Sorry, kid,” he said, “Only company employees are allowed in there.”
The suspicious trucker stopped but didn’t back up. “Sorry,” he said, though Shawn was sure they weren’t at all, “just wanted to check on the load I’ve been carrying for days across Cali. Why the secrecy?”
At this point, the other workers were staring at Shawn and the unnamed trucker with cautious looks. Shawn raised a hand to the trucker and waved him back. Reluctantly, the trucker backed up, but not before spying the headlights of a vehicle around a stack of metal.
“Do you usually park your vehicle inside the warehouse while you work?” There was a look in the trucker’s eyes that screamed suspicion, though his mouth was curved into a constant smile.
“I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to ask you to go back to your vehicle while we finish unloading. I’m not sure what other companies you’ve worked with are like, but we’re very busy, and company policy says I can’t have you snooping around our wares.”
The suspicious individual raised their hands in a placating gesture and let themselves be herded back to the driver’s side of the cabin.
“Woah, didn’t mean to step on anyone’s toes.”
Shawn held back a biting remark, and simply hummed in response.
Though he helped the workers until they were finished unloading, he kept a close eye on the trucker. The closely watched man disappeared briefly into the cabin of the truck before exiting again to watch the workers from afar. Eventually, when all the metal was unloaded, the trucker sauntered over to close the trailer door before going back to the cabin to drive off. Shawn made sure to watch for the truck’s disappearance before going back into the warehouse and signalling the other workers.
The warehouse door closed and locked before the hidden bots transformed back to their bipedal selves. Their vocals whirred nervously, but they were otherwise silent.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. They’re gone.” Shawn reassured them.
Another worker piped up, “Though that guy was really suspicious. We should report him.”
“Hey Shawn, what was that guy’s name?”
He frowned as he answered, “When I asked, he avoided the question, so I don’t know.”
The warehouse became noisy with conversation before Shawn decided to take charge and whistled loudly, grabbing their attention. “Okay, I know that was exciting, but we need to get our ‘bots out of here and get back to work. I want ‘bots to grab as much metal as you can carry before you leave. Stay on the other side of the ground bridge, moving things to storage. As for the rest of us, we’ll have to move the rest.”
Sending the request for the ground bridge to activate, Shawn clapped and sent everyone back to work. He knew neither mama bear nor Max (their chief of security) were going to like hearing about the incident. Hopefully, he could convince them that they had things under control, so that the ‘bots could remain to help.

How tfa sentinel, optimus, prowl, bumblebee, and tfp smokescreen react to finding out that their s/o is actually God (Jehovah from the Bible)in a human form and she is unleashing her godly wrath upon the humans due to prophecy and of Justice after the rapture.Plagues, earthquakes, disease, mental, starvation, drought, violent storms beyond measure, the oceans and rivers turn to blood, and fire falls from the sky. I got this idea from the prince of Egypt movie. Use the plagues song from the movie.
TFA X Reader Inserts – Jehovah
A/N – Man, that is a banging song from my childhood.
Warnings – None.

Sentinel
When the two of you had first met, Sentinel hated you, as he did all organics. However, after an unfortunate mission wherein you had managed to save Sentinel’s life, he came to see that you were different from the rest of your kind; you were superior to them. You always stood proud, walked tall, exuded confidence, and seemed to display an ethereal power. Sentinel couldn’t put his finger on what made you so amazing.
Now, he stood by watching as perfectly healthy humans starved within minutes, animals went wild and began attacking everyone, and the weather went from a blizzard, to a flood, to a searing heat and back again.
Sentinel was torn about what he ought to do. The Autobot code stated that he should respect and protect all life, but did it really matter if you were only harming other, inferior organics?
Sentinel considered this for a long time. Finally, he called up to you, “(Y/N), YOU OKAY BABE?”
“I am Jehovah, the God of this planet, and this is the rapture,” You replied coolly.
“UH, YEAH, BUT ARE YOU OKAY?”
“I am divine. I am perfect. I am flawless.”
“ALRIGHT, SO, I’LL SEE YOU LATER THEN? YOU WON’T BE MAD IF I LEAVE? I DON’T THINK I SHOULD INTERFERE WITH ORGANIC PROBLEMS, YOU KNOW?”
“Leave if you wish non-organic. I have work to do.”
Sentinel nodded and transformed into his alt-mode, driving back to his ship. Maybe this was just a bad phase. If it was, Sentinel was willing to wait until you were done with your bad day. Afterwards, if you wanted to see him, he would wait for you.
Optimus
Optimus held his helm in his servos, completely unsure of what to do for the first time in his life. Everyone was asking for his help, demanding that he either rescued or stopped you. As they asked for his leadership, Optimus himself was wondering who would help him. In rough situations like this when it felt like the weight of the world was resting on his shoulder, you were always the one to comfort him and make him feel like he wasn’t alone. Now, when the problem was you, he had nobody to lean on.
Optimus couldn’t help thinking back to the start of the day. Everything had started off so normally. The two of you were out walking through the park, talking about the future, and then suddenly your eyes turned fully white and you began rambling about how the time was nigh.
After that, you wouldn’t respond to your name, claiming that you were the one true Jehovah. Then, before Optimus could stop you, you had taken to the skies to claim your place as Earth’s God, and begin the rapture. Optimus had immediately called upon his team for help, but by the time they reached him, it was too late. Everywhere Optimus looked disaster struck and it was clear that you were causing it. The park’s water turned red and thick; instinctively, Optimus knew it was blood and the thought sickened him, though he was powerless to stop it.
“(Y/N),” He called you, “PLEASE, STOP, COME DOWN. LET ME HELP YOU!”
Frogs coated in the blood that now filled their lakes started storming the park in a blind panic. The few people left there were screaming in fear, a few crying, and all trying to run from the sudden lice that had appeared seemingly from nowhere to feed on them. Before you could bring about your next plague on humanity, the now teenaged Sari was thrown at you by Bumblebee. She latched onto your waist, trying to bring you down. The weight didn’t hinder you as you stared icily down at the young girl who you had loved so much before.
“Release me child, or face the consequences,” You said in a voice that was not your own.
“(Y/N), it’s me, Sari. Don’t you recognise me?” Sari gasped, struggling to keep hold of you as your body began heating up.
“I do not recognise Earthlings. I see only their merits and their sins. Let go of me youngling, for you do not yet deserve to suffer my wrath. I am Jehovah.”
At that, Sari let go in shock. She knew little of religion, but enough to recognise what was happening.
“Guys, get ready for a fight,” Sari warned.
The bots prepared themselves just in time as a group of wild beasts came forth, sniffing out the sinners and attacking them. It didn’t matter to the Autobots who was good or bad, all life was worth protecting.
After a day of trying to save Detroit from you, the Autobots had to return to their base for repairs, recuperation, and a new plan.
“So, what’re we gonna do, boss bot?” Bumblebee asked.
Optimus thought for a moment, wondering what you would do in his place. Finally, he answered, “We’re going to save (Y/N). (S)he would do the same for any of us.”
He looked around to find his team nodding in agreement.
“Good,” Sari said. “Because I’ve been doing some research and I know what’s coming next.”
Prowl
Prowl didn’t understand it. How could you, the God of planet Earth, create so many beautiful things to fill the world, and then destroy them so easily? He had been asking himself that very question ever since the plague had begun, when people started dropping like flies.
Not only where you destroying the beautiful organic world of yours, but no matter what anyone said or did, you wouldn’t stop. Prowl thought his opinion meant more to you than that but clearly, he was wrong. During his one attempt to stop you from hurting any bystanders in your first attack, Prowl’s pleas fell on deaf ears. You acted like you had never met him before and with a wave of your hand, a flood had swept Prowl away.
While the team argued around him, Prowl silently contemplated the situation, tuning everyone else out so he could think. Clearly, your Godly powers were interfering with your reasoning, and perhaps even your memory.
For every problem, there had to be a solution. Something had caused your sudden transformation into a God. If Prowl was to listen to Sari, then it was because of something called the rapture. Perhaps if Prowl could find out what had triggered the rapture, he could stop it, and hopefully that would be enough to turn you back.
Praying to Primus, Prowl begged to get you back to normal as soon as possible. When you had whisked him away in the flood, he was almost sure he saw a hint of sorrow in your eyes; if he had, then Prowl would make sure to do anything to save you before his team stepped in and made the ultimate sacrifice of your life to save the billions of others worldwide.
“So Prowl, what do you think?” Optimus asked, having explained his plan in great detail.
Prowl transformed into his alt-mode, and said, “Run it by me again over comms.”
He drove off, and Optimus instantly radioed him, “Where are you going?”
“To do some recon.” If Prowl was to defeat the God in you, then he would need all the information he could get.
Bumblebee
“(Y/N)- ARGH!” Bumblebee yelped, barely avoiding the boulder that flew his way.
He rolled to avoid another as he tried again to make his way to you. He didn’t understand why you were doing this, or how for that matter. The (Y/N) he knew didn’t even like to hurt people’s feelings in videogames, but this newer version of you filled with power was trying to kill almost everyone in sight. Since when did you have powers anyway? Everything had been normal until the two of you took a walk to the racing grounds. Then you had run off into a strange cave, and when Bumblebee caught up with you, you were holding onto a freaky burning bush. After that, everything had been crazy.
“RATCHET,” Bumblebee called his team-mate who was getting closer with each passing second. “CAN YOU HOLD HER?”
“I’ll try,” Ratchet said through gritted dentae. He aimed his EMP generators at you, hoping to contain you.
You smiled cruelly at his attempt to imprison you, escaping his weak hold and then opening a fissure at the base of his feet.
As Ratchet lost his balance, you addressed the two bots, “You have no business interfering with the will of a God. Now flee, and you shall not be punished.”
“(Y/N), COME ON. IT’S ME, BUMBLEBEE.”
“And why should your name matter?”
“BECAUSE I LOVE YOU, YOU IDIOT.”
Briefly, the earthquakes that had been assaulting the city stopped. “I- Yes. You do love the body that chained me.”
“Right, and you love me too, so stop hurting everyone… Please.”
For a moment, Bumblebee believed you were going to listen to him and end the rapture that you had begun only that morning. Instead, your face curled up in a snarl.
“I WILL NOT BE CHAINED AGAIN!” You roared.
The earthquakes began again, accompanied by vicious rain, thunder and lightning.
Bumblebee pushed himself up, forming a plan. He wished he had his team with him but they were busy rescuing people where they could, and now Ratchet was incapacitated.
‘I am the fastest bot alive,’ Bumblebee reminded himself. With that, he pushed himself up, dodging the debris that came his way.
“IF YOU’RE A GOD, WHY CAN’T YOU HIT ME?” Bumblebee taunted.
As expected, you lifted the earth to throw a miniature island his way.
Bumblebee jumped on the island, “IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?”
You threw more of the islands at him, becoming more enraged as he used them to get close to you in the air.
Finally, when he was only a few feet away, Bumblebee jumped. He latched onto you, enveloping you in a hug.
“Hah,” You sneered, making no attempt to remove the bot from you. “This was your plan? To defeat me with a hug?”
Bumblebee shook his head against your shoulder. “No,” He whispered.
You felt coolant soaking your shoulder, though you remained unmoved by his tears.
“I just needed to be close enough.”
Bumblebee let go of you, pressing his stingers against your heart before he fell. If you were still human, it would have killed you. As it was, the shock was enough to temporarily stop your heart, rendering you unconscious as all your power went into keeping yourself alive. Bumblebee landed on his knees, catching you before you could hit the ground.
Bumblebee opened his comm-link to Sari, hoping she was close, “Sari, I have (Y/N) knocked out. I need somewhere where (s)he can’t hurt anyone.”
Sari thought of a bunker that her father had prepared to hold Megatron in case he ever attacked again. “I think I know a place,” She replied. “Head to Sumdac industries, I’ll meet you there.”
“Okay,” Bumblebee said, cutting the call short. He cradled you close to his body thinking of every moment the two of you had spent together since he arrived on Earth. He gently moved the hair from your face, “We’ll fix this (Y/N). I promise.”

Word Find Game
I was tagged by @heliopauseentertainments. The words are green, free, metal, and thunder.
No original content to be found on my AO3. And I’m certainly not pulling from any of my non-posted original works. >_> From my fics, here we go.
Green from Hoist’s Past (G1: fairly lighthearted. A short fic giving my take on how Hoist has mega-strength and lost his right hand.)
The yellow mech was quiet for a moment as Hoist’s story so far sunk in before he finally said, “I’m glad it was him.”
Hoist raised an optic ridge. “Oh? Why is that?”
“Because if it was someone else, who knows if I’d even have my best friend by my side today?” He finished by giving Hoist a warm and radiant smile that the green bot felt to his very spark.
Oh… What a sweet sentiment! Hoist beamed at him in return and reached up with his left hand to give Grapple’s shoulder a few touched pats, and the two of them sat in happy silence for half a minute before the crane truck broke it again.
Free from Bombshell’s Therapy Sessions (G1: mostly serious. The first fic out of a series in progress, in which Bumblebee goes to Bombshell for help with a bit of PTSD he developed.)
“He’s my leader!” Bee yelled. “I can’t fight him!” He yelped as Optimus reached out and grabbed firm hold of his arm, pulling him out from the rock he was cowering behind. His leader was so much stronger than he was. Try as he might to struggle against him, even going as far as to pound a fist against Optimus’ arm, he couldn’t break free.
This was pathetic. Bombshell had thought the little Autobot might have been ready for this, but alas. It appeared he was wrong. “Well, since you feel as much, I think I will leave you two by yourselves for a while.” With that, he transformed and flew up to the top of a cliff to watch from a vantage point.
“Bombshell, please! Help!” Bee begged, trying not to cry.
Metal from The Rise of Rodimus Prime (G1: goofy/serious. A series of shorts--before we get serious--about a seeker trine and their adopted Rodimus Prime and human girl. It’s posted to my boyfriend’s account, but I’m counting this because it’s a collaborated effort.)
The little girl was silent as they went, seemingly taking in the scenery as they walked through the corridors of the ship. There was a look of worry that he caught on her facial features. Obviously still worrying about her guardians.
Sandstorm pleaded with Primus that she wouldn’t ask about them again. He wouldn’t be able to keep from telling her if she did. Once they reached the berthroom, he set her down on his recharge slab and began looking around for something he could give her. Something human-sized. Something not metal. His gaze rested on one of Hotlink’s used oil rags. Perhaps there was a clean one around somewhere. The Seeker muttered to himself as he rummaged through his brother’s effects for a rag to borrow. After a few minutes of searching, he found a rag that didn’t look like it had been used much, and it didn’t reek of oil, so it would have to do.
Thunder from Conjunx Endura (G1: mostly serious with lots of sarcasm/teasing. Slow burn GalvaRod fic in progress.)
It wasn’t until they reached the city that he fell quiet again and his body got stiff. He’d sat up a tad and was staring down and around at the buildings and creatures they passed, optics alert and attentive. He half-raised an arm when a few creatures got too near Nitronux below, readying himself to shoot them with the weapons hidden in the pipes along the side of his arm.
Galvatron flicked his gaze from the scene below to Hot Rod. “Unless you wish to lose control again,” he interjected, “best stay out of it.”
“If they need help, I’m not standing by.”
“And I’m not dealing with you losing rationale again. I will make that crack bigger if I must.”
The Autobot threw him a nasty squint before whipping his head back down to view the scene below upon hearing a loud thunder crack.
Nitronux had surrounded itself in a storm of small lightning bolts with a stomp of its hooves, startling the aggressive creatures and making them turn tail to flee.
“Seems they don’t need your help.”
The young mech sighed quietly and lowered his arm again, resuming keeping watch of their surroundings.
I don’t really have a lot of mutuals on this platform, especially ones that write, so this is open to whomever would like to participate. Tag me if you do, I’d love to check out your stuff!
Your words are: fire, delve, bit, and pain.
#Those are the words that came to mind#Sorry#Yeah uh I write a lot of fluff#But this#I could only find most of these in the serious parts of my fics#And even then they were almost NOT there#I really had to scour#I was afraid I hadn't ONCE used the word Free#And I was going to be shocked if I hadn't#Word Game#tagged#fanfic#writing#AO3#Transformers#G1

She fears she unintentionally manipulates the emotions of others to benefit her, whether that’s by befriending her, agreeing with her or any other such possibility
Refrains actively using her powers on others without their explicit permission
History:
An outlier with the ability called “Empath”
She can experience and control the emotions of others
Her range is city-sized and is always active, but it drains her immensely and she constantly has to keep her ability in check
Experiences massive migraines when she overly exerts her powers and can offline temporarily from sensory overload
Thoroughly exhausts her to experience extreme emotions from others or apply to others
Could permanently offline herself if pushed too far
The versatility of her powers include:
Forging emotional bonds with loved ones via touch that allow her to sense their emotional presence from any distance

Experiencing the emotional residue left in places from major events
Imprinting her own emotions onto others
Senator Shockwave enrolled her into the Jhiaxian Academy of Advanced Technology in her youth
Extremely fond of Shockwave and his friend Senator Dai Atlas, aspired to become a liberal Senator like them
Starlight learned more of the Knights of Cybertron and ancient Cybertron from Dai Atlas directly, he quickly became fond of the young Primalist
She had a crush on Skids during their academy years, but never acted on her affections due to her shyness and fear of artificially implanting her feelings into him
Focused her studies on the social inequalities of pre-War Cybertron and solutions to rectify them
She also researched the societies and cultures of other species in the universe

As a member of the Circle of Light, finding Cyberutopia and the Knights of Cybertron was her dream
She paints her face in honour of Dai Atlas
Becomes Conjuxed to Skids and grows closer to Megatron after her beloved’s death
Felt it was fate that she reunited with him on Luna 1 when he presented the Lost Lighter’s recruitment video
Chromedome: “Cynical? Skids, I was suicidal....but then I met someone who saw the best in everyone—even me. Maybe there’s someone out there who can save your life, too.”
Skids: “It’s your fault, actually. After we had that talk on Theophany, I decided that abandoning my lost memories amounted to a kind of betrayal. All those people I’ve met, all those people who’ve touched my life—I mean, I don’t know if there are any, but that’s kind of the point: I hate to think I might’ve forgotten them.”
Due to her aversion towards violence, she stayed behind with Teebs when Roller and Chromedome recruited Skids and the other outliers during the Fake Matrix Heist
Stays behind with Ultra Magnus, Percy and Megatron when the Crusadercons follow Stormy into the past
Troubled by the flowers around her statue on Necroworld and prays for the fallen due to her pacifism

Set Adrift: The Charbee Remix
For Charbee week day 4 for the song Back to Life by Hailee Steinfeld
I always played around with the idea of there being multiple factions of Cybertronians with specialized tasks/functions. I really latched on to the scientists/engineers because someone had to develop all that super advanced tech. But also they would have so much drama because both sides would want them. I found a great way to write in 2 of the main characters but never had a great way to bring in the third as she was completely a non-combatant. ENTER CHARBEE!
----- ------ ----- ----- -----
Bumblebee’s optics went wide as he thought back on the time he stuck his finger in the outlet at Charlie’s house. He looked away embarrassed by the stupidity of the action. Little did he know the ramifications of such a simple act would be so widespread and… ongoing…
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Prologue:
The universe is full of innumerable stars. Rotating around those stars are even more planets. What makes this one so special? At first I didn’t understand, but then I finally went there. It was full of organic life and energy. I knew the moment I landed it would be perfect for the experiment. So, I released them: enough nanobots to make thousands of Energon batteries. Enough to power a Cybertronian colony for far more cycles than would ever be necessary. This whole system was a proof of concept. No matter where we Cybertronians went, we would always have a source of Energon.
As soon as the nanobots were released on this pale blue dot the results were immediate. I was extremely optimistic. I left the experiments to run as I retreated to the observation bunker established on a moon in the far reaches of the system. I went into stasis to conserve energy and woke up periodically to check on the experiments and receive reports from home.
As you might imagine I missed a lot existing like this. But I knew about the war and that it was escalating at a frantic pace. The war and my experiment seemed to be poles that could not coexist. The better my experiment went, the worst things seemed to go at home. The transmissions kept coming until one day they spotted altogether. I denied it for as long as I could, but I understood what that meant. The Prime Constructors was gone and the only reason for that was denying the Decepticons. I took precautions against those who would try to use my experiments for their own ill deeds. In my processors I said I was neutral, like all Constructors, but in my Spark I hoped the Autobots would win. that hope to hold on to, I went to sleep for the last time.
A bot tall and slender in frame but devoid of all the color floated gently up and down in a cryo-stasis chamber. The frost on their silvered metal panels tinkled as it melted away. It was time for the annual check on their experiment. They had created a countless number of nearly imperceptible nanobots and flooded all the planets of this solar system with them. It was a first of its kind experiment for the Cybertronians. Each bot collected energy from any and all available sources and converted it to Energon. Once the bot was fully charged, it floated towards the collection point on the planet and deposited it. Once the batteries were full, they could be collected and transported back to Cybertron.
The Cybertronian stretched out their arms over their head before floating over to the console on the far side of the room. Tiny boosters on the tips of their transparent wings gave them the propulsion they needed to move in the zero-gravity space. Once they were seated, they slid their hand against a flat space marked off by a frame on the console. It lit up with a gentle yellow glow a moment after they touched it.
“Constructor designation.” A synthesized voice filled the darkened room.
“C-377.” A less synthesized female voice answered.
“Project Identification number.”
“1284092186.”
“Hello, C-377. I hope you slept well.”
“I did, thank you.” She looked up at the screens as they buzzed to life.
“I have compiled the latest data on all 10 planets in this system.”
“I see them on the screens now. The numbers for some planets are a little disappointing, I must say. However, planet 3 has been an extremely lucrative source of energy.” She put her free hand to her chin a moment. “There has been a very large spike in the last 100 years. But then it drops off steeply.”
“Yes.”
The Cybertronian started to speak again but the computer cut her off.
“There was a huge spike in Energon detected. The spike caused the nanobots in the area to realign with the Cybertronian responsible for the spike and become unresponsive to outside communications. This caused a cascade effect until all the nanobots on the planet had become realigned.”
The Cybertronian’s purple glowing optics went huge. “W… wh… what… faction?” She was shaking so violently her hand almost pulled free from the console.
“The surge was caused by an Autobot designated B-127.”
The Cybertronian visibly eased, sinking into her seat at the news.
“The Decepticons can never have this technology… They’ll just use it to destroy ev…” Her chilled declaration was cut short by an alarm blaring. The security system was alerting her to a breach. “Activate emergency protocol alpha.”
“Understood. Preparing full transfer to remote station Beta.” The small, underground base started whirring with life.
The Cybertronian’s hand was released from the console as the computer listed each step in the protocol being fulfilled in the background. “Launch the backup and my escape pod to Earth then full wipe.”
“Understood. Preparing to launch decoys. Randomizing decoy coordinates. Power and memory transfer to ARC initiated.”
“Time to breach?”
“Irrelevant. Please proceed to escape pod.”
“But… Yes… Understood…” She couldn’t argue with the computer as power was already being diverted to a black monolith. The lights dimmed and the alarm turned off. The bot drifted into a random escape pod. The black monolith joined her in a different, random pod.
“Transfer complete. Launch sequence activated. Final shut down commencing. Creator protect you.”
The tube shook violently as it hurtled towards space. Moments before cresting the top of the tube, the screen in the escape pod started blinking errors. A camera on the outside of the pod showed fire surrounding it. Something likely set off the self-destruct trying to disarm it. While she was happy no one could get anything out of the base, she hoped against the odds the pod survived the trip to the third planet. Much to her dismay, the alarm blared on…
The sky burned as a Cybertronian pod streaked across the blue expanse over the planet Earth. Pieces broke off and burned away in the atmosphere causing a showy display of friction's power. It came to rest in a dry field in the middle of nowhere at the base of a tree. The scorched dirt pit left in the wake of the landing alien smoldered and it wouldn't be long before humans found the site. With great effort the figure rolled over and pushed themselves to their feet. The journey had taken far longer than they had thought but soon it would all be over. The mission was the only thing that mattered now.
“Halt!” A voice called with a musical quality and the figure turned around slowly.
“Auto...bot... Thank goodness...” The clearly female alien replied weakly just before falling to her knees. Any scans indicated that she had been severely damaged from the entry. She was dying before his very eyes! He immediately disarmed and moved to her side. “I have a very important message to deliver to you Autobot. I am one of the last of the Constructors and charged with an experiment put into motion on this planet... No time...” She explained as quickly as she could with her dying body.
Bumblebee dropped her and backed away. A look of disdain colored his normally genial features.
She chose to ignore the familiar coldness her faction afforded her and pressed on. “After I die the information must be pulled from me. They are on their way... Decepticons... Not sure... how much... they got out of lab...” Her optics flickered so dim light could barely be seen within them as Optimus and the others arrived.
“Bumblebee! Report!” Optimus barked as he transformed and ran up to his ally. “A neutral?” He gasped in a voice stricken with an ill feeling as he kneeled down next to the ailing creature. “A Constructor?” She nodded slowly before falling to the dirt completely.
“A Prime...? How fortunate...” A smile was clearly written on her face as her life faded away.
“Out of the way!” Ratchet grumbled as he gingerly moved between Optimus and the slain. “Her injuries are grave. I haven't seen anything in this bad of shape in awhile...” He looked her over briefly before shooting her three times with his special regeneration laser. She jumped and twitched and he quickly set to work attaching a thick cable to a port in her back. “She needs an energy transfusion... What's this?” He wondered spotting a foreign black cube deep in her back. “It's a retrofitted piece connected on a molecular level with nanomachines... It appears to be some sort of energy collection or converter... But it's been disabled.” He awkwardly reached a finger into her back and poked the unharmed box.
Suddenly, her wings spread out and became covered in a transparent film. After a few moments she gasped and her eyes shot open. “The energy converter worked!” She half shouted as she twitched back to life.
The Autobots in attendance looked at her dumbstruck.
“I need to find the monolith…” No sooner did the words leave her mouth she passed out again.
“She's not very stable at the moment... We'll have to be careful...” Ratchet explained checking her status. “Right now, that converter is the only thing keeping her functional.” With that being said he got to his feet and started hauling her away unceremoniously over one shoulder.
“All right you heard Ratchet! We have to get her back to the base!” Optimus ordered as he started to transform into a semi-truck. “I’ll carry her in the back.”
A flurry of whirring radio dials punctuated Bumblebee’s reaction as he searched for songs to speak with. “Something… you need to know… easier… if… she's… dead...” Bumblebee looked up at Optimus with his displeasure clear on his face. “Shouldn’t… we… let it be?”
“No information could be worth her life... She's been through much to get here and I'm certain once she's had time to recover, she can tell us everything we might need to know.” Optimus replied as the hum of a plane grew closer. “Autobots! Roll out!” It was clear Optimus was ignoring the callousness of the comment.
“I… will… guard… her…”
As they rolled back to the Autobot base on Earth, the being stirred weakly. “You.” There was a long pause before the Constructor went on in a quiet voice. “You are the one who started all this.”
Bumblebee tried to ignore her, but her persistent staring finally prompted a response. He cocked his head to the side. “Misunderstanding” by Phil Collins started playing.
“You have lost your voice?” She looked up at the open roof wistfully. “It must have been an accident then.” She took a deep breath. “You created an Energon surge that interfered with an experiment I was conducting on this planet. It caused the nanobots I brought here to align with your energy so they no longer respond to me.”
Bumblebee’s optics went wide as he thought back on the time he stuck his finger in the outlet at Charlie’s house. He looked away embarrassed by the stupidity of the action. Little did he know the ramifications of such a simple act would be so widespread and… ongoing…
“That means we must protect you at all costs until the nanobots can all be removed from the planet.”
“You should rest now. You can explain yourself later when we can all hear it. But I would prepare yourself now, Constructor. Not all Autobots have a favorable opinion of your kind.” Optimus commented stoically.
“I… I can understand that sentiment.” With that she closed her eyes and went into stasis again.
After returning to the base, the newest Cybertronian was offloaded for repairs. Optimus and Bumblebee waited patiently nearby as they discussed their next move.
“What do you think, Bumblebee? Is she someone we should trust?” Optimus turned to the yellow bot.
“Danger Zone” started blaring loud enough to wake the dead.
“I understand your feelings on Constructors. However, they only did what they felt was best for Cybertron. Is that really any different than what we did?” Optimus tried to reason with Bumblebee.
Bumblebee shook his head wildly. “So, what difference does it make? It makes none.” A line by The Smiths accompanied the action.
Optimus sighed heavily. He started to say something but was cut off by Ratchet.
“Well I can safely say this is my best work...” Ratchet sounded quite full of himself as he came out with the Constructor in tow. He had replaced her missing plates with smooth steel. “She explained that box to me as well so we'll have to move her while she recovers. She needs a place with more light.” He added cracking his hands as he stopped where Optimus and Bumblebee had acquainted themselves.
“What is it?” Optimus asked looking over to him.
“It's a miniature version of an experimental system the Constructors implemented here on Earth in a closed circuit.” Ratchet explained with a smile. “It was developed on the off chance the experiment failed. She brought many unused copies with her!”
“So that's the black box we picked up not far from her crash site.” Optimus added thoughtfully.
“YOU FOUND THE MONOLITH?!” The Constructor nearly collapsed in her relief. “Th… that monolith is very important to me.”
Bumblebee’s optics narrowed sharply and “Danger Zone” started blaring again.
“Bumblebee…” Optimus chided him gently and the yellow bot huffed.
The Constructor looked a bit hurt but went on. “I am Constructor C-377. I specialize in nanobots. I developed nanobots that absorb energy in all its forms and delivers it to batteries. The batteries were to be sent back to Cybertron…”
“Cybertron… has fallen.” Arcee answered solemnly offering her comrade a comforting pat on the shoulder.
“Oh…” All of the Constructor’s excited energy evaporated like fog in the sun. “I… see…” Sparks lit up as her fingers dug into her hand. “Well then… I guess… a new end goal for the experiment is necessary.” She nodded solemnly as she walked over to the monolith. She placed her hand on the surface and it immediately lit up with a gentle purple light.
“Should this experiment yield the desired results then we will be able to build a new home planet for our race.” Ratchet began with his smile beaming wider with each word. “It is capable of converting solar energy into Energon!” The news completely shocked everyone in the gathering.
“This is great news!” Arcee cheered in uncontained happiness.
“It’s not that easy.” The Constructor injected quickly. “The nanobots are designed to seamlessly integrate into whatever they are gathering energy from. So, they can become anything. If you cannot see why that might be a problem then you had better reconsider your intelligence level.
“We should give you a code name.” Wheeljack finally interjected.
“Familiarity with me is not advisable. I will only be on this planet long enough to remove the nanobots and any threat they may cause. My association with this planet will only serve to endanger it further.”
“She is a true Constructor...” Ironhide shook his head bitterly. “I've never met one but I would bet they're all just like this. Loners who don’t think they need anyone and don’t care about anyone.”
The Constructor deflated a fraction, but it was still enough to be noticeable. “I will need an energy sample from B-127 so I can start reprogramming the nanobots. Please place your hand on the monolith.”
“No sugar tonight.” Blared through Bumblebee’s radio.
"I don't think you understand what's at stake here." She started with hurt in her voice. "The nanobots can be reprogrammed to do anything... become anything. Power supplies, weapons, defenses..." The meekness in her voice faded as she spoke, replaced the a genuine passion. "If the Decepticons get a hold of them, they would be able to destroy anyone who opposes them!"
"Why would you put such a dangerous experiment into action at a time like this?" Ironhide voiced his suspicions openly.
A perfectly logical question she gave an honest answer to. "The experiment was started before the war." She started to deflate once again. "Had I known it would come to this... I... never would have..."
Just before her voice faded into nothing the monolith whirred loudly before disappearing completely. Her optics went huge and she started shaking. The plates of her body clinked gently, but audibly. "A Decepticon is here..."
An uproar immediately erupted from the Autobots. Some went on the defensive, seeking out the enemy. Others went on the offensive against the Constructor.
"I knew she couldn't be trusted!"
"Constructors only care about their experiments and creations!"
"She probably is a Decepticon herself!"
"She must have led them here!"
"I'm not a Decepticon!" Though she was quick and vocal in asserting this, she deflated quickly again. "But I may have led them here without meaning to." She shrank away from everyone, clutching her arms around herself.
"Enough!" Optimus's resonant voice silenced all others. He placed a firm hand on the Constructor's shoulder. "We will judge her guilt based on evidence after we eliminate the Decepticon threat."
The familiar whir of a plasma gun charging and firing in the distance ended any further discussion. Optimus did a quick head count and looked confused.
"The threat has been eliminated." The Constructor whispered looking over in the direction the sound came from.
"How can you be so certain?"
"My monolith is back." She pointed toward the source of the shot. Sure enough, one could see a peek of the monolith floating lazily in the air. Closer investigation revealed a small, smoking crater with the remains of a small Decepticon spy at the bottom. Her whole countenance grew grim as the monolith wafted to her side. "I warned you the nanobots are dangerous. Now the Decepticons likely know B-127 controls them."
“Your monolith is made of nanobots then?”
“Yes.” She answered quietly. “But they only respond to me. They cannot be overridden like the ones on this planet.” She turned to look at Bumblebee resolutely. “The Decepticons will stop at nothing to gain every advantage they can. If you will not help me save the experiment here. Please help me shut it down. The nanobots can be ordered to permanently fuse. Order them to fuse into batteries and all of you will have a viable source of Energon for the foreseeable future. Once it’s done, I’ll leave and never come back.”
Once again, Bumblebee pulled away.
“They will stop at nothing. The place where your Energon surged was a residential area. They will start there first.”
Bumblebee’s face instantly snapped back to hers.
“They will take hostages and once they do, those hostages will die. It doesn’t matter if you agree to help the Decepticons or not.”
Bumblebee looked visibly distressed now. His optics swiveled around for a moment before he shoved past the Constructor and turned into a bright yellow car with black stripes. As he did, the monolith disappeared again.
“We have to protect him at all costs!” The Constructor yelled and she took off after him on foot. A moment later she spotted an old, beat up truck from the 40s roll by. She quickly scanned it and used it as her cover. Following a faintly iridescent line of nanobots, she was able to follow Bumblebee even if she could in no way keep up with his reckless driving. Eventually she pulled in at a house at the end of a cul de sac. Bumblebee was honking his horn trying to get the attention of someone in the house.
“I wondered who could possibly be honking so much!” An older women excitedly declared as she rush out of the house. “Charlie’s going to be so excited to see you when she gets back, Bumblebee.”
Bumblebee struggled through finding the right song lyrics to convey the urgency of the situation. Seeing him struggle so, the Constructor spoke instead.
“Where did she go and when will she return?”
“Oh? A girl…” The older woman gave Bumblebee a knowing smile. “I’m so glad you found someone special, Bee~~~ I was just telling Charlie it would be nice if you found you a nice lady bot and settled down. She didn’t seem to like that for some reason.”
“It’s not that kind of arrangement. I am in need of his assistance.” The Constructor answered simply. “Where did Charlie go and when will she return?”
“She went to the store for me and should be back anytime now. Is… Is something the matter?” The woman was clearly worried now.
“No. I simply wanted a name. Bumblebee said Charlie gave him his name. She might select one for me as well.” It was pure fabrication to minimize collateral damage.
“Awe… That’s so sweet! I’m sure Charlie would be so happy to meet you and give you a name!” The older woman bought the explanation wholesale as a smile crept across her face that spoke to how adorable she thought the situation was. “There she is now!” She flailed her arms in a wave.
The pair of Cybertronians backed around to see a red car coming down the street. An arm reached out and started waving wildly. Suddenly, a shimmer on the air caused the view to be distorted.
“That vehicle…” The Constructor whispered.
The vehicle came to an abrupt stop causing Charlie to slam into the steering wheel. Bumblebee revved his engine in a hostile display. It was clear he already knew what the Constructor was about to say.
“That vehicle is a Decepticon.”
Bumblebee’s engine revved loudly again.
“B-127 if you would like this human returned unharmed you will come to the coordinates indicated on this tracker.” A map shot out of the glove box and fluttered to the ground, almost comically slow, in front of the Decepticon. With Charlie still inside, they turned into a plane and flew off.
Bumblebee shifted out of car form and pointed his plasma gun at the retreating plane. He quickly thought better of it since Charlie could get hurt if the Decepticon crashed or jettisoned her.
“We should regroup with the Autobots and plan our next move. There… there has to be a way to get her back safely without putting you or the planet in danger.”
The Constructor tugged on his arm but Bumblebee pulled himself free once again. Punctuating his disdain with a glare, visor still down. The radio blared static and it got the point across aptly.
“I lost everything and everyone I cared about.” She said quietly as she clenched her fists, metal scraping on metal showing just how tight her grip was. “I don’t like fighting, or war, or the Decepticons. If we’re being perfectly honest, I don’t really like any of you Autobots either because YOU’RE the ones who were doing all the fighting!” Her feet ground into the pavement causing it to crack and chip.
There was a long silence as Bumblebee stared at her taken aback when confronted with the fact there isn’t just one side in a war.
“But…” She started more calmly now. “Even though you couldn’t save all the innocent lives lost in this war…” She looked up at Bumblebee with determination. “You aren’t the ones who deliberately put them in danger to begin with. I could stop you from going. I could imprison you with my nanobots because you would be doing the EXACT same thing as the Decepticons. Deliberately putting all the innocent lives on this planet in danger for that one human. Are you prepared to bare the burden of responsibility if we fail? You and you alone?” She gave him a challenging poke to the chest.
His optics darted back and forth rapidly as he tried to process his response.
“Why do you fight, B-1… Excuse me…” She shook her head. “Why do you fight, Bumblebee?”
That single question seemed to harden his resolve. His optics focused on the Constructor before he nodded his head, radio whirred through stations until it spelled out his reason. It didn’t blare loud for all the world to hear. It was quiet and sincere.
“In that case,” She smiled slightly. “I’m not asking you to trust me, but let me help you.”
Bumblebee looked down at her outstretched hand and hesitated.
The Constructor smiled ruefully. “It is asking a lot, I suppose. Let’s go before it’s too late.” She glanced off where the Decepticon had gone briefly. “Please lead the way.”
Bumblebee shifted back into car mode and peeled away. Unlike the last time, he made sure the Constructor could nominally keep up with him. Traffic gradually gave away to open roads as they sped down a nearly abandoned access. After turning down a rough access road, the forest opened up to an abandoned mine. Standing cockily at the edge of the pit mine was the Decepticon. They bent over and picked up Charlie from where she sat bound in chains on the ground. They rattled ominously as the Decepticon held her in the air by the waist. Bumblebee’s radio whirred wildly as he skid to a stop by changing into his bot form. He was clearly worried for Charlie.
“We have come as you requested. Please release the human as agreed.”
“The agreement was for B-127 to cooperate with us. I have no use for you.” The Decepticon sneered as a needle shot up from the end of a slender digit. “Let’s make this interesting…” He stabbed the needle into Charlie’s neck.
Charlie let out a momentary scream of pain before gritting her teeth. “Don’t, Bee. Don’t help them.”
The Decepticon snickered before yanking the needle out. “Those are your Nanobots, C-377. The imperfect ones you left behind, but they’ll still drain this girl of all her energy.”
Bumblebee immediate bristled at this comment. His visor locked into place and his plasma gun primed.
“Ah… none of that. Shoot me and you won’t be able to stop the nanobots.” The Decepticon wagged a mocking finger at Bumblebee with a wicked grin.
Bumblebee lowered his gun rather begrudgingly.
“You are not in this alone.” The Constructor whispered encouragingly. “I will be very convincing.”
“So, what’s the verdict?”
Bumblebee sighed deeply and started walking forward with his hands up.
“B-127…” A sharp voice from behind him made him stop. “Would you really sacrifice all other life on this planet for one?”
Bumblebee spared her a sharp glance over his shoulder. It was then he noticed the shimmer and remembered what happened the last time her monolith disappeared. He gave her an understanding nod before focusing on Charlie again.
“Then you leave me no choice.”
Bumblebee didn’t look back again. One slow step in front of the other he marched towards the Decepticon. With his sole focus on Charlie, he missed the unsettling way they behaved. The Decepticon was very excited every time Bumblebee took a step forward. They did a happy little jig, jostling Charlie in the process.
The Constructor watched careful from behind until she noticed something. She soon noticed the Decepticon was only looking at the ground. That had to be important…
“Bumblebee! Do not take another step forward!” Using his real name signaled to him to stop. “It’s a trap! There’s something in the ground!”
Bumblebee looked around but didn’t see anything immediately in his path. He picked up his foot and set it down in a slightly different place. That slight movement was all it took to spring the trap. A burst of electricity rippled through his body overloading his circuits and sending a huge Energon burst out.
“BEE!” Charlie screamed desperately as she watched her friend fall to his knees. She kicked and screamed but couldn’t free herself.
“Perhaps you should start concerning yourself with your own situation. Your value as a hostage has been spent after all.” The Decepticon jeered as they eyed Charlie with a wicked jeer. Without a second thought, they tossed her into the pit.
Bumblebee tried to call out to her but his radio just bogged down and flickered like a car trying to start when there isn’t enough power. The last thing he saw before blacking out was Charlie disappearing over the edge.
The words of the Constructor echoed in his mind. “You are not in this alone.”
“I trusted you… That was a mistake.” The warnings flashing on his screens suddenly stopped. His optics snapped open. Before his very eyes, Charlie was levitating in the air, bounds removed. A faint shimmer covered her whole body and he realized she was covered in nanobots. He looked around wildly and saw the Constructor kiting the Decepticon around as they fired at her. She was fast, but extremely clumsy in her movements. He knew it was only a matter of time before she got hit.
He staggered to his feet, sensors still not fully recovered, and stumbled towards Charlie. After just a few steps, an electric jolt shot up around him. He prepared for another frying, but the shock never came. Instead, the electricity seemed to be diverting around him then disappearing completely.
“The nanobots can take any kind of energy and turn it into Energon.” The audio played back in his head. His gaze darted to the Constructor quickly. The horrible realization settled in: If her nanobots were helping him and Charlie, she was truly defenseless.
“I’m fine, Bee. I’m fine.” She smiled brightly for him as she looked up into his optics for a moment that seemed like an eternity. The trance seemed to break for both of them at the same time and they both collapsed into a hug. “I missed you so much…”
Bumblebee nuzzled her cheek as if to say he missed her too. He finally pulled away when a nearby explosion caught his attention.
“You should help her. I’ll just go hide over there.”
Bumblebee nodded stoically as his visor clicked into place. He turned towards where the Decepticon had the Constructor pinned to the ground. He fired his plasma gun to break them apart before charging forward.
Charlie watched for a moment before heading towards the cover of the trees. It quickly became apparent something was wrong as she had to push harder and harder just to move. All her limbs felt sluggish and heavy. The tiredness quickly started spreading to her mind as an overwhelming urge to sleep took her. The last thing she saw before darkness consumed her was the tree line and a fistful of leaves in her hand.
“Now how did you get free?” The Decepticon pondered as they squared off with Bumblebee. “Was it my vacillating former colleague?” They glanced down at the Constructor as she tried to drag herself away. “You are just full of tricks, aren’t you? But I think you’ve used them all up now!” They gave her a swift kick that sent her rolling towards Bumblebee.
“I will… take care of Charlie.” She pulled herself up and started retreating towards the fallen human.
With no other distractions to come between them, Bumblebee focused on the Decepticon. “You have a codename now too. My codename is Doppel. I have a twin named Ganger.” The Decepticon went on to explain they used to be Constructors too but now they work for the Decepticons.
After a few moments listening to Doppel’s prattling Bumblebee started firing.
“Didn’t anyone ever teach you manners?!”
If ever Bumblebee wished he had his voice back it was now. Unable to deliver any sort of retort, he just kept firing. Unlike the other Constructor, Doppel clearly had some combat experience. Only some. This was not going to be as easy as he hoped, but still doable.
“Miss Charlie. Please wake up.” C-377 gently lifted Charlie into her arms.
“Just 5 more minutes…” Charlie muttered absently as she swatted at the air.
“Well she still has basic functions…” A quick scan revealed a glimmer of hope. “These nanobots are very old and extremely inefficient. It seems her body’s energy generation is outpacing their ability to absorb it as long as she is in maintenance mode.” The Constructor gave Charlie a troubled look as she tried to shut down the nanobots. “Not them too…” Her gaze shot up to Bumblebee.
“STOP! Don’t destroy him!”
Bumblebee looked back at C-377 incredulously.
“We need him to shut down the nanobots inside Charlie!” She scooped Charlie up and started walking toward the fighting pair. “You have control of my nanobots. Order them to isolate a sample of his Energon.”
“Like I would ever let that happen…” Doppel jeered from his place under one of Bumblebee’s feet.
Suddenly, Charlie let out a bloodcurdling scream.
“He overloaded the bots. We have to hurry or they’ll drain her dry then blow up!” She was frantic now as red warnings flooded her screens.
Blood red optics glared down at Doppel as Bumblebee grabbed his neck with a crushing grip. A long, thin needle grew out of his knuckle. He jabbed it into Doppel’s chest with far more force than was needed. The needle took on a red hue quickly as it filled with Energon.
“It’s not going to be enough…” Doppel jeered as he fell back to his knees. Those were the last words he ever said.
“Bumblebee! Hurry! I have to use that sample to hack the nanobots before they explode!”
Bumblebee turn and saw Charlie encased in the monolith. The monolith was taking on a red glow. C-377‘s expression became increasingly grim. “I… not enough time. Preservation protocol Alpha!” An explosive flash of light momentarily blinded them both.
“The nanobots created a pocket dimension where time moves at a fraction of what it does here.” C-377 explained as Bumblebee’s optics locked on the glowing sphere before him. “As you might imagine, that requires a large volume of energy. I need your help keeping it stable for a few more moments while I finish disabling the nanobots.” To emphasize this point, her energy collection wings were spread open wide and Energon coursed down her arms into the sphere.
Bumblebee tentatively reached out to sphere and solid plates former beneath his hands. Even before his hands touched the plates he could feel his energy to be pulled to his hands. He hesitated for a moment before pressing his hands to the plates. Instantly, the Energon started to drain from him in massive waves. His sensors indicated an eminent shut down in a matter of moments but he focused on Charlie. Suddenly, she was no longer obscured by the veil of energy and nanobots.
“Charlie?” He started at hearing his own voice.
“Who’s there?” Charlie spun around quickly. “BEE!” She ran up to him happily.
He scooped her up in an embrace. “I’m glad you’re all right.”
“Same, buddy. But… where are we and what’s going on?” She looked around confused by their surroundings.
“You were infected with Nanobots that were draining your energy and then were going to explode. That other Cybertronian put you in a pocket dimension while she shut them down.”
“Oh. No big deal then.” She seemed to take that news in stride. “And the Decepticon?”
“Destroyed.”
“So… I guess we just have to wait for her to finish and we’ll get out of here.” She sat down and patted the place besides her.
“Probably.” Bumblebee answered opting to settle in behind her and hug her midsection.
“Probably? You mean you don’t know?” Charlie looked a bit alarmed as she gripped Bumblebee’s hand.
“I’ve never worked with her before. In fact, we just met earlier today. I’m still not entirely convinced I can trust her.”
“She saved my life.” Charlie said simply. “She said every life is precious.”
“You trust her then?”
“I have no reason not to.”
“Then… I guess I can trust her too.” Though he said this begrudgingly still.
“How long have you been able to talk, by the way?” Charlie spun around to look him in the eyes again.
“How long have I been in here with you?”
“Does that mean you might not be able to talk once you get out of here?”
“Yeah.” Seeing the disappointment she was trying to hide made him regretful. “But I’ll always have the voice you gave me.” He tapped the radio gently.
“That’s true.” She seemed content with this as she settled her back against the plates of his chest again. “I don’t suppose you can pick up any stations in a pocket dimension, can you?”
“Probably not.” He sounded amused as he answered. Still, he gave the dial a spin anyways.
“B-127!” Familiar voices flooded the space. “I mean Bumblebee! Listen you have to let go! Your Spark is being absorbed!”
“That sounds bad.” Charlie mirrored the Constructor’s worry.
“It is. Our Spark is the thing that gives us life and makes us who we are.” He paused to look around. “I don’t know how to go back.”
Charlie immediately jumped to her feet and put her hands on his shoulders. “Bee! You… you have to find a way to go back! Your soul… Your soul is here and if you can’t get back your body you’ll be gone forever!” Tears streamed freely down her cheeks.
Charlie doesn’t cry for just anyone… She only cries for the people she really cares about…
“Don’t worry!” He wiped the tears from her cheeks with gentle thumbs.
“What did you do to C-377?!”
“I’m not going to leave you.” He took her hands from his shoulders and wrapped her in a warm embrace.
“I didn’t do anything!”
“No matter what…” He nuzzled her head to his chest.
“Who else could have done this?!”
“I’ll always be with you.” A barely audible whisper.
“I think… he did this himself.”
“Because I…”
The arguing voice over the radio faded to static all at once. A blinding flash ripped through the space and then, nothing. It took a long time for Charlie to resister the cold feeling of metal on her limbs. But once she did, her whole body went into hyper-drive. Her eyes snapped open and were greeted with the Autobots weapons drawn and pointed at her in the distance. In foreground was the blunt end of some very sharp looking spikes floating in the air. She spun around and saw the very haggard looking Constructor looking back at her with barely glowing eyes.
“Wow! What happened to you? Oh yeah a fight! If we go back to my garage I could fix you!” It was all one word spoken at an almost incomprehensible speed.
“Miss Charlie.”
“We could give you an awesome paint job too! OH! What kind of vehicle do you turn into?! I bet it’s some snazzy sports car!”
“MISS CHARLIE!” C-377 grabbed her by the arms carefully. “I need to focus right now, hard as that may be.” Her voice was failing and the glow in her eyes flickered. “Everything Bumblebee ever was, is, or will be is inside of you right now.” The Constructors cold hands slid down Charlie’s arms making the human focus on herself for the first time. Her whole body was glowing blue.
“His Spark?”
“Yes. You are the only one who can bring him back now.” She gestured to Bumblebee’s lifeless body beside them.
“You big idiot.” Charlie whispered in exasperation as she crawled up next to his head. “When you said you weren’t going to leave me, did you really think I’d be happy with this?” She rested her hands on his faceplates and put her forehead to his. “If you’re not here, what’s the point?” Her whole body started to glow brighter. The glow travelled up her body and grew brightest where she touched Bumblebee. Once all the glow had faded, there was a long moment of uncertainty.
Radio static broke the silence and Bumblebee’s optics slowly lit up. A collective sigh of relief filled the air, none louder than the Constructor’s. She slumped over on her side and rolled short distance away as the spikes her nanobots created melted away to nothing. As the revelry around her reached a fever pitch she tried to summon up the strength to form her monolith again. The transparent wings on her back flickered dimly but could not generate any power.
“Overheated…” She muttered bitterly. She let out a tired sigh. “Bumblebee.” She called out to him but he couldn’t hear over the celebration. “Bumblebee.” A bit louder this time. “BUMBLEBEE!” She yelled as loud as she could finally garnering the attention of the others. The looks were not entirely kind but she endured it anyways.
“I cannot access my monolith at this time. You are the only one who can shut down the experiment on this planet.” She reached up weakly and offered him a small stick made out of nanobots. “This has all the instructions you need to order the nanobots to permanently fuse into Energon batteries. I suggest having them coalesce in a secure location. It will take quite some time for all of them to fuse.”
Bumblebee was quick to shake his head.
“You still don’t trust me. I cannot blame you on this.” She replied defeated.
He quickly shook his head. The radio spun through countless stations and static but nothing of use for what he wanted to say came up. Now it was his turn to sigh. Then his head quirked up and he looked a bit disturbed.
“Please speak your mind now.” C-377 said wearily.
“Hello?” Bumblebee spoke tentatively. Everyone looked shocked. “You… should be the one to finish it. See this through to the end. That is… one of the principles of the Autobots.”
“You have shown yourself an ally. I hope in time we can come to some kind of better understanding.” Optimus spoke clearly and definitively.
“With all due respect, Master Prime, I have no interest in siding with the Autobots or the Decepticons. I would like to try to remain neutral. However, it is clear the Decepticons and I do not share one important core value.”
“Every life is precious.” Charlie answered quietly.
“Yes. Hate me if you must, but I refuse to be a tool of destruction.” She clasped her fingers around the bar in her hand. “That’s why I have to shut down all the experiments.” She dropped the bar into Bumblebee’s hand. “And why I can’t join you right now. Please finish this for me so I can move on to the next planet.” She gave him a wry smile. “Besides, they won’t respond to me anyways.”
Bumblebee looked suddenly bashful, perhaps because he remembered why they would only respond to him. Still, he took the stick this time. With that out of the way, the Constructor shut down.
“Couldn’t she at least pick a 40s streetrod or something? No. She picks a rusted out… Something…” Charlie groaned as she wiped the sweat from her brow. “But she cleans up great once you give her a nice buff and shine.”
Bumblebee beeped with approval from the driveway.
“Do you think she’ll ever wake up?”
The chorus to “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey started playing.
“Yeah… It’s only been a few days.” Charlie wandered over to Bumblebee and climbed in the driver seat. “How about you? How long are you going to be in town?”
The chorus to “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell started playing.
“Yeah. I figured you could only stick around until she left. Optimus filled me in on Constructors and how they got their bad reputation. Not siding with anyone made a lot of people think they were turning a blind eye to all the death and destruction. I bet some of them were just scared of getting used to do bad stuff.”
“Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie started playing.
“Why… is there so much noise?” There was a loud thud and the pair looked into the garage. The Constructor was in bot form ducking to keep from hitting the ceiling seemingly for a second time.
“She’s a wake!” Charlie beamed hopping to her feet.
“It would seem I have been repaired as well. Do I have you to thank for this, Miss Charlie?”
“Looks like you picked up some country when you scanned that pickup. What with the Miss Charlie and all.” Charlie poked fun of the Constructor with a fake Southern accent.
“I suppose my speech patterns were slightly altered. I will correct them.”
“Nah, it gives you character! Like all those, uh, dents and stuff!” Charlie vaguely motioned to a large dent on the bot’s posterior.
“I see. I did just scan the first vehicle I came across.”
“How about something like this?” Charlie showed her a full spread of a street rod in a magazine.
“It does have a certain aesthetic appeal. However, it will have to wait for another time. I must leave now and complete my mission.” She looked to Bumblebee grimly. “Did you?”
“The battery thing?” Charlie looked between them quickly. “Yeah there are already so many of them!”
Bumblebee turned around and popped the trunk to reveal two batteries. The Constructor reached down and took one out. A faint smile came across her face.
“I’m glad to see my proof of concept was valid. But in making the nanobots so adaptable so they could gather energy harmlessly… I created something truly terrible. I cannot apologize enough for all the danger I put you both in.” She carefully put the battery back in his trunk.
“So how many more experiments do you have to shut down?” Charlie asked looking to the Constructor.
“Nine. But they can be shut down remotely assuming my back up bases weren’t found and destroyed by the Decepticons. Then it’s just a matter of collecting the batteries.” A desolate air settled over her. “Though, I have no idea what to do with them now that Cybertron has fallen.”
“Collect them for the day when we reclaim Cybertron. Or, for when we make a new home for our people.” The brightly painted and ostentatious Semi tractor said from the street.
“Master Prime.” The constructor looked startled for a moment but quickly regained composure. “I will look forward to that day.”
She took a few steps forward and turned back into a truck.
“Hey wait!” Charlie grabbed her tailgate to keep her from moving. “You need a codename! That way you can communicate and no one will know it’s you!”
“A codename? Like Bumblebee?”
“Yeah!”
“I wouldn’t know how to decide on such a thing. Please call me whatever you wish, Miss Charlie.”
“Then I’m calling you Seraphim!”
“When I return, you will have to explain to me it’s meaning and why you chose it for me.” With that she pulled away and followed Optimus down the road, a faint shimmer distorted the air as she went.
“Aren’t you going with them?” Charlie looked to Bumblebee expectantly.
“Push it” by Salt-n-Pepa started playing as Bumblebee slowly drove towards her. She backed up into the garage with a confused expression.
“Do you know what that song is about, Bee?” He didn’t answer as the garage door slid down. “Don’t you tease me, Bee.”

2020 Megaman Valentine’s Day Contest - Cat. 1 (Talent) Results!
Thank you to everyone again for your patience! This is getting posted way later than I wanted to. As much as I try to keep it short and sweet, I never do, so bear with my walls of text.
For the talent category this year, the theme was about killing Mega Man with kindness. More specifically, entrants had to create their own original love/Valentine’s-themed Robot Master or equivalent boss character that was created to defeat Mega Man with the power of love! Even though the theme title and concept alluded more to the classic Robot Master character contests, designs for any series were acceptable. But other than one Navi and one Reploid entry, everyone stuck to a Classic-series themed creation. So you were all pretty consistent!
There were a total of 16 entries for this category this year. Thank you all for your participation! It was extremely hard to choose winners for this category, because you all had really clever and creative concepts based off of this theme. So thank you for thinking up such clever and cool characters!!
Also thanks to Reploid 21XX for the coloring book prizes and for some additional insight.
Again, raffle prize winners will be contained in both posts, so keep an eye out between your name and your art. Not all raffle prize winners are contained in this post. I’ll be contacting all winners soon enough, so sit tight! Might be late after work tonight, so don’t panic if you don’t hear from me right after this is posted.
Your category winners and full gallery of entries are right here, after the break:
Category 1 (Talent) - Dr. Wily’s Greatest Creation: Killing Mega Man With Kindness
[Full Talent Gallery]
1.) @mo-sketchbook:
*For coming in 1st, mo-sketchbook has won $100 via Paypal, or a prize of their choice up to that value AND a Rockman 7 Coloring Book.*
First and foremost, I appreciate all the effort you put into covering so many aspects of your creation, from the various design viewpoints, weapon get form for Mega Man, and showing the weapon in action. I really loved all the things you integrated into the design to give off the feeling that it is a love-based character. The “love bug” form, cherub-like Heat/Plug-type facial features, and how you utilized hearts in different ways for his design and powers.
I’m no Keiji Inafune, but I feel like this is a concept he would greenlight, in terms of it following his Robot Master design formula. It doesn’t need to be super detailed or flashy, but still fits the mold very well! The thought of the hearts missing their target and love energy then getting weaker is actually pretty clever, too. Cute, and I wuv it.
2.) @peachycircuits:
*For coming in 2nd, peachy has won $50 via Paypal, or a prize of their choice up to that value AND a Rockman 7 Coloring Book*
As usual, on the technical side of things, your art is one of the more polished and clean entries of the bunch. Combining a couple different aspects - swans as a creature known as a symbol of love, bonded for life like in marriage, and turning that into an inseparable pair of Robot Masters, was a clever way to think about your design, in terms of the theme of this category.
And then echoing that with the iconic Swan Lake, making them ballet dancers, is like taking Tundra Man and Gemini Man’s concept up another notch. Plus, not gonna lie, amused seeing Mega Man getting equipped with a tutu. LOL So even if it’s not as heart-themed as most of the other entries, I totally liked how you thought outside the box a little bit for this.
3.) Komito Amae:
*For coming in 3rd, Komito has won $25 via Paypal, or a prize of their choice up to that value*
I figured a cupid-styled arrow theme would pop up in a bunch of entries, but your Reploid, Beta, here caught my eye. Both in terms of the hearts, arrows and wings incorporated into her armor, and the pretty sweet looking buster that she and X both have equipped.
While I’m not sure how it would play out in the game, I think it would be interesting to suddenly take control of random enemies in a stage, and be able to change perspective as them for a short time, after you have shot them. Whether it would be to take out an enemy horde, or perform a task X can’t that the enemy could, it would be different! Can’t see it quite having the same powerful effect on a Maverick boss, but it’s certainly neat to think about how that could work!
And the rest of the wonderful entries, in alphabetical order by alias:
@autobot-bumblebee:
*Raffle Prize Winner* Dreamwave Comics: Issue 4 Page 15
I’m sorry you didn’t win a cash prize this time! Please don’t take me hostage! I totally loved the creative vintage chocolate factory mascot backstory, along with making your entry like an Ariga-styled character sheet page. Certainly get that retro feel with her clothing design. Her rose blade kinda reminds me of other hand-turned-blade-like-weapon characters, such as Alan Gabriel in the Big O or Ed transmuting one in FMA. Which is always a snazzy transformation for a robot!
@drewblossom:
In all honesty, if I hadn’t placed you in the humor category, I think this would have very likely been somewhere in the top 3 for this category. A cuddly teddy bear with a massive Ariga-Quick Man-sized heart for a chest, extending flailing tube arms, who just wants to hug Mega Man to death is so amusing and awesome of a design. Hugs for everyone!
FluffyFrostyFury:
Your take of heat-seeking arrows and the added high jump powers were certainly a different take compared to the other cupid-styled creations. Definitely would be nice gameplay bonuses when equipped. I like how Mega Man also has the wings sprout out of his head, to mimic Cherub Woman’s pigtails, rather than the usual spot you would assume, on his back.
HealerCharm:
Hahaha, I love how your creation has caused Mega Man to wave the white flag after falling in love...wait, it isn’t White Day, and he should be giving her a gift if it was! XD Her hair tied up into a heart was a creative touch, much like how her dress flows into all those heart shapes. Adorable!
@inanehipsterslang:
Um, can...can I count on you to vote for Bernie this election year?
Remember kids, it’s what’s on the inside that counts, looks don’t matter. Everyone deserves love, even those you consider ‘vermin.’ This was certainly an unexpected take on the theme, and gave me a good laugh, too. ‘Boiling-hot water...with a hint of citrus!’ It burns, but it smells so lemony-fresh!! XD But the two different moves fit together well, to protect and attack.
I like how you still incorporated a heart shape into Rodent Woman’s design with, both in her chest shape and the “nostril” area which is echoed in the Rodent Rover. And also props for giving her the non-armor form, unique compared to other entries.
Mattasaurs:
On the one hand, your design feels so different for a Robot Master, and maybe more Navi-like. But then I get the Astro/Galaxy-type eye vibe, and sort of a Plant Man~ish body with Devil hands feel, and see how it’d fit into Classic. It’s a unique look, and I liked it the more I inspected it. I really do love the idea of the heart bubble entrapping more and more enemies, and the big ol’ group hug ending up bursting their love bubble. It’s a different concept that stood out!
Minnie:
Our Navi of the bunch combined the love bug and cupid design, but your concept changed up the attack to suck out the energy of it’s target. Which almost made me think she should have an arrow-like mosquito nose, to feast on her target that way. XD I liked your wing shield concept and RiCO-styled skirt of hearts. Rock gets some cool shades in his Love Soul/Cross form, and I get the ProtoSoul vibe, with the shield transferring to his arm as well.
@pstart:
Another Heat/Plug-type design Share Man looks cute and sleepy, but is also “clumsy and weak.” His ability is to share body parts, so “the danger is in him sharing his less than ideal parts with his opponents.” It’s a totally neat concept, to see Mega Man lose his buster almost by accident, and now be powerless to stop Share Man. His split color scheme drives home the concept that his parts might not all be his own, and sort of a Frankenstein bot at times. Props to that idea!
While his weapon gives Mega Man the power to make enemies docile and sleepy, I really almost want to see Mega Man get dumb parts of enemies, too! Helmet switched to a Met helmet, Batton wings, a big Suzy eye! It’s now I’ve got your power...but...but what am I supposed to do with it? XD
RetroNinjin:
Unlike most others, your entry pushed the heart theme heavily in her armor design around the entire head and shoulder parts, so I definitely felt the love vibe. The color scheme fits well. Just would have liked to have had seen a little more information about her attack and concept.
RoninApprentice:
Mega Man having a “Wing Man” to set him up is a hilarious and clever idea! I give you kudos for thinking outside the box a bit on your concept and theme here. The shipping chart certainly drives the idea home, too. You still give him a classy/formal look, and keep the wing man aviation origin apparent in his attack style. Certainly a different idea having the heart bowtie transfer to Rock’s helmet in the form change, but it really doesn’t look that bad there, opposed to around his neck like it would be normally.
@star-crossed-swords:
Different from the other cupid concepts, Eros Woman utilizes a Search-Man like targeting system to hit her targets. I like the heart scope addition over her and Rock’s eye when they go into firing mode. You took a different approach to the wing concept compared to others, echoing Cinnamon’s hairstyle in many respects. But it certainly fits with the rest of her design nicely, and looks good for Mega Man’s equipped form.
@star-shaped-soul:
Love that you were able to both include a drawing and your own sprite, to mix in with the weapon equip ones. That is one powerful crush Mega Man has on his enemies now! I feel bad for Crush Man with how big and heavy those snare trap hands of his are. This seems like a Robot Master too cute for Wily to design; more like he stole him and added horrible, cruel hands onto him! This is taking a crush on someone to a whole different level! XD
Yuri Kadry:
When equipped with Cupid Man’s power, I like the visor Mega Man gets. I think this is also a clever use of the weapon, having enemies shot attracted to one another, causing them to collide into each other. Well thought out! Love the original sprite art, and he stands out nicely against the pinks and purples in the background.

IDW bots and pregnant SO
Hahaha, some ideas with the IDW bots and their human! s/o carrying:
Fortress Maximus
A Giant Mess™ when Ratchet confirms it. He was worried that it was radiation sickness, but this is more terrifying. Even with the mass displacement, he’s Big, so he often comms the medbay if there are any serious changes in the carriage. Also, comms them for all the little things as well: They’re not as active. Not like this morning. Hmm, yes, they kick if prodded. But shouldn’t Y/N increase her supplements then? Does he need to take anything else? Max, please, Y/N is okay. The sparkling is okay. Let them work.
If Cybertronians could transform based on their stress levels, he would turn into a helicopter or an armored berth so he could roll you up and keep your safe in Max comfort. If it ever happened, Whirl and Getaway would leer at the straps.
This behemoth worries a lot. He fears that he’s too broken, too traumatized to be able to handle a small helpless bundle. It doesn’t help that you’re soft, that you’re made of flesh and bone rather than armor and circuitry.
Installs a separate berth for you and makes sure there’s plenty of blankets and pillows. He enjoys it whenever you fall asleep against or on him, but he sets up an internal alarm in case he slips into recharge so he could tuck you into your berth.
He’s very careful whenever he touches you. Fort Max is a Big Boy™ even by Cybertronian standards, so if you’re into rough sex, then you have to ride this guy hard. While he’s afraid that he may hurt the bitlet, he trusts you to know your limits.
Definitely practices on a dummy or the minis. They generally okay with it; mild embarrassment for first dibs on babysitting the first sparkling in millennia? Dooooown.
Trailbreaker/Trailcutter
When you told Teebs at the bar, he had to put down the high-grade and reset his whole systems because wait what? He’s gonna be a sire!? Oh look the floor is coming up to his face.
He does cuts down on the engex, especially after the baby shower when almost every bot on the LL bought him a drink and you found him in the showers, stripped down to the protoform with a giant smiley face drawn on his chest and giant googly eyes on his aft.
He looks into different types of drinks for you to enjoy in Swerve’s or Visages (vetted and approved by Ratchet, of course) and gets into making snacks for you.
He laughs off at the outrageous things in the parenting books, especially the extreme lengths on baby-proofing. But then you point out that he uses his magma-wheels on the ceiling when he gets scared... So yeah, gotta fireproof the room now.
Does prenatal yoga with you and never felt so flexible in his life
Teebs has a thing for shower sex, so he would get a portable tub that folds away in his habsuite. He does the full works: little finger snacks, a chilled bottle, some flower petals, silicone-based lube, a non-slip mat for the tub. He enjoys the feeling of your skin pressed against his bare protoform, the warmth of the water and the heat engulfing his spike, how your hair is plastered to your slicked skin, and how the water drips down in rivulets over your curves.
Prowl
This mech… This mech would disappear and then reappear after scouring all the data pads and clips on carriage and sparkling rearing. Prowl managed to get information about child-rearing from Earth as well. Doesn’t matter if the information is outdated, he’s gonna get his hands on it. He already constructed the nursery room. It’s all done in colors designed to soothe a fussy sparkling and promote creativity and well-being. It’s stocked with educational toys and calm music. That medic you currently have? Well, he already dug deep into their full background and apparently, they’re in deep debt from medical training and seem to have Decepticon sympathy, Prowl would prefer this one instead...
Is super stressed by E v e r y t h i n g at this point. Starscream making move? Optimus bullying his faceplates into another political mess? The LL caused another intergalactic incident? What do you mean there are no thermal sheets for the cradle?!?
There’s gonna be a lot of table-flipping throughout the pregnancy. So much flipping. Bolted down? Flipped. Connected to the wall? Ripped out. A vital part of a Titan’s physiology? Oh look at that, there’s a confused city-former standing now. Nothing can stop this angry, frustrated police car. Nothing.
Prowl keeps images the ultrasounds and clips of you rubbing the bump while complaining about the most current shitshow. (Locks those deep inside his cortex and plays them when he needs a little pick-me-up.)
Shopping is easy with this mech. Prowl has that particular look on his faceplates that no one wants to be at the end of his optical feed. Everyone remembers what happened to Payday, and no one else wants to be buried under thirteen levels of paperwork spawned from a bureautic hell. You’re gonna get good deals.
Prowl would try to schedule sex to optimize (Both of you wince at that word.) his free time and the demanding needs of a carriage. Sex itself is still intense; as people in active politics, you and Prowl get really frustrated and getting an orgasm/overload helps. A lot.
Quite a bit of desk sex, especially now that you wear professional maternity dresses and Prowl knows you have crotchless panties underneath.
You and Prowl glare at each other as you both attempt to leverage one another to self-care.
“You should increase your vitamins and supplements.” “Only if you finish your cube and have lunch with me, darling.”
“You told me you were going to replace the optic!” “You said you were going to start working from the flat!”
Rodimus
Is the most excited sire-to-be ever. He literally burst into flames when Ratchet broke the news to him. (Yep, CMO was totally prepared for that reaction and that’s why Ratchet was really adamant you wear the fire-proof suit Team Simpatico designed.)
Super affectionate. Like Roddy cranks it up to 15. You should be annoyed by it, but the temperature control in the LL is malfunctioning and he’s a heater in this freezing ship.
You’re in an old T-shirt and sweatpants because that’s the only thing that fits you right now. Roddy will give you such a hungry, starstruck look and say, “Wow, babe, you look amazing!”
Remember all Primes have a pregnancy kink, so if you thought Rodimus had a high-sex drive from being a racer, it got nothing when you start to show a baby bump. There are literal hearts in his optics as he peels off you clothes and goes down to show his full appreciation.
He’s definitely gonna be late for meetings and has no shame about it. Rodimus takes his impending sire-hood very seriously. If he doesn’t leave you in a daze on the berth, then he isn’t providing enough to the bitlet!
Definitely talks to the bump.
Roddy gives the unborn sparkling Rodimus Stars for hitting developmental stages.
The first time he felt the baby kicked, his spoiler flipped-flapped.
Drift
This racecar is gonna be excited and torn. Even if it’s been vorns since his last boost, heavy syk usage could impact a bitlet’s development
He’s honest that he didn’t have the healthiest of habits and both of you work about a supplement plan with Ratchet and Ambulon. He follows it religiously and he goes with you to all of the appointments.
He’s the early-riser and the most organized. He helps out with cleaning and reminds you to eat, hydrate, and “Please wear the exosuit, sweetspark. We’re about to pass another anomaly. Remember the pirates?”
Both of you go through a lot of catalogs and alien marketplaces for the nursery. He brings back an eclectic mix of toys, artwork, furniture, and strangely enough plants. You and Ratchet separate the things based on what’s good for the sparkling, what can be used for later on, what are Drift’s tastes, and what’s leftover. Drift picks through the leftovers and puts whatever into a different pile, and just resells the rest of the leftovers. (He decorates your habsuite with the things he pulled out. He saw what you were eyeing. He makes sure the room isn’t too cluttered.)
He leads the prenatal yoga and gets you into meditation. Mini crystal gardens become a thing between you and him.
You’re reminded that Drift was once a Decepticon when he suddenly pins you down and bites hard into your shoulder. You’re screaming from a rough orgasm and his hips are still cracking against yours, his hands possessively curled over your swelling belly.
Drift will nuzzle over the scar on your shoulder and really enjoys nipping and leaving lovebites all over you.
You can’t bite through armor for obvious reasons, but you managed to leave a good indent on his protoform. There’s warmth in his optics as the bite slightly bleeds energon: A promise to each other.
Bonus - Optimus “I’m not a Prime” Prime visiting
If Optimus visits the LL or finds you on Cybertron, you’ll get some serious vibes from him. All Primes have a pregnancy kink bestowed from the Matrix and it really urges Primes to help out with growing bitties.
It starts off friendly, polite even - there’s a warmth his optics as he asks the usual how are you’s and it turns into interests and the future. Oh wow, he has a pretty face! You and Optimus are laughing and you feel him brushing against your arm, his knee knocks into yours, and definitely feel your skin buzzing, prickling in that way when Cybertronians use their fields laced with intent, as he smiles with you.
He’s definitely eye-fucking you.
Optimus is a lot of things, but he would not force himself on anyone. He would escort you back your place and say goodnight; he would leave you alone once you SO shows up (depending on who it is, OP would leave a pointed comment on their willingness to leave a very vulnerable carrier by themselves); but if you do accept him then-
Optimus here is a dominant lover, not a very rough one unless very charged up, but he’s in control. He unwraps you like a gift and leaves trails of warm kisses and soft words all over, especially on the swell of your belly. He will go down on you and hike a leg over his shoulder and if he can’t see your face, then he’ll make sure that he can hear you moaning and gasping. When your thighs are shivering and he had his fill, he’ll gently but firmly pull off your hands on his helm and slide into your willing body and leave bruises of his fingers on your hips and thighs.

Imagine Blitzwing’s Sparkling Being Found On The Elite Guardian Ship
(A/N: I hope this came out okay! Feels kinda different from how I’d normally write >-<*)
Previous
~
Just as it had happened the first time, the same mysterious sparkling that had showed up out of no where in the back of Optimus trailer, has randomly shown up once again, only this time on the Elite Guardian ship. Optimus and his team were standing on the brig, the former having another argument with his stubborn ex friend Sentinel, when two of his teammates came rushing in with gleaming faces. No one knew what had gotten into the twins, but the moment Jetstorm unfurled his arms, Team Optimus took a huge step back, frames tense and at the ready for the unpredictable nature of the oh so small sparkling before them. Sentiel laughed loudly at the over dramatic display of Optimus and his team, walking over to the twins who had all focus on the tiny servos patting Jetstorms cheeks.
“What’s gotten into you Optimus? I always took you as someone who liked children.”, he teased, making a head nod towards Sari who wasted no time in flipping him the bird.
“You have no idea what this sparkling is capable of.”, Ratchet cut in while also lightly scolding Sari for her behavior, even if the other Prime deserved it.
“It’s a sparkling! What is it going to do? Beep me to death?”, Sentinel scoffed.
“No, but it will scream you to death!”
Sentinel simply rolled his optics, as his own team gathered around the sparkling to coo. The little one only had curiosity, seemingly unware of the others who they had caused much trouble. Glancing up as Jazz wiggled his finger before them, they tried desperately to grab for it with no success.
“I don’t know about being screamed to death, but I might die from they’re cuteness.”, Jazz smiled widely. “Who’s sparkling is it anyways?”
At this, the other Autobots could not answer, just as completely clueless and curious as the Guardsmen.
“Well I thought they might be Blurrs!”, Bumblebee suggested which earned him a shocked expression from the fast talker.
“Why in all of Cybertron would you think that?!”
“Well, they’re super fast, and I mean super fast!”
“Not a single one of us were able to catch them when they began to run rampant. Sari would have been a pancake if I didn’t shield her in time!”, Bulkhead explained, servo extended out to his small friend who also agreed with a fast head nod.
“What’s a pancake?”, Sentinel leaned over to whisper ask Optimus who only pushed him away.
Optimus let out a groan, pinching the metal between his knitted optic ridges in irritation.
“Look, we don’t have the slightest clue to who’s sparkling this is. What we do know is this sparkling is much more than a handful, and that we should keep a careful, close optic on them.”
All attention was taken by Prowl as he let out a hum, now beside Jazz and peering down at the sparkling who eyed him with a glint to their wide optics.
“I don’t think Blurr would be their carrier or sire anyways. Look.”, he directed with observant optics.
As told, everyone had turned their gazes to the smaller Cybertronian, Ratchet being the local medic, stepped forward to take a closer inspection of his own. His glaring optics widened, intake opening to release a shocked gasp.
“What is it Ratchet?”, Optimus curiously questioned, stepping up beside his team member.
“Well,” Ratchet began, pointing to the back of the sparkling,” This sparkling is in the development stage of it’s altmode. Due to their speedy nature, one would think they’d develop to take on the form of a race car, or some sort of ground vehicle at least. However, see these two bumps right here. The protoform mold doesn’t shape this way to hold wheels if they were a car or even a truck. It only forms this way if they’re a flier. These are wing stubs!”
The whole brig lit up with the sounds of gasp and shocked expression, though the worst one had to be the ships captain.
“What do you mean a flier? Flier’s are strictly Decepticons.”, Sentinel scowled.
“Um, we’re fliers!”, Jetfire interjected with a raised servo.
His leader groaned, slapping his own metal hand over his face.
“And how is it you think you two got to be fliers.”
Before either jet twin could say anything, Prowl stepped between Sentinel and the gargling sparkling.
“What’s the problem Sentinel?”, he questioned, but anyone near by could detect the sharpness in his tone.
Ignoring the ninja bots protective stance, Sentinel turned to Optimus and Ratchet.
“If the sparkling is in fact a flier as you say they are, then that means their creator or sire is a Decepticon.”
“So what? You’re going to arrest a baby?”, Ratchet snapped at him.
“Sentinel,” Optimus cut in, pulling the other Prime aside.
“Maybe they are a flier, but that doesn’t mean their parent is a Decepticon. It’s a known fact that not all sparklings develop the same altmodes as their creators or sires. It’s rare yeah, but even still. How can you be so sure that this sparkling’s parents are Decepticons? And even if they were what are you going to do about it?”
After the last line fell from his lips, Optimus immediately wished they hadn’t. Sentinel’s optics narrowed, filling with that look Optimus knew all to well and he quickly tried to move before him.
“Sentinel-“
“I’ll tell you what I’m going to do.”, Sentiel cut him off, shoving him aside and marching towards the young spark who innocently looked in his direction.
Prowl rushed towards him, intent on stopping the larger mech before getting anywhere near his target, but the later easily threw him at the wall with a swift swing of his shield. Before anyone could do much else, Sentinel ripped the child from Jetstorms arms, eliciting a loud cry from the frightened sparkling. Ratchet’s earlier quip about being screamed to death came into play, the sparklings sharp cries evolving into an unbearable shrieking that soon had everyone falling to their knees and covering their audials. Try as he might, Sentinel couldn’t hold out for long and soon dropped the sparkling in favor of covering up his own audials. Once they hit the hard floor of the ship, the sparkling’s screams died and they quickly rolled off their back and did something entirely unexpected.
Their pedes, something that had not been developed the first time Optimus and his team had encountered them, folded back and transformed into treads, aiding them in a quick escape out the brigs doors and into the many halls of the Elite Guardian ship. Recovering from the deathly sounds brought upon their hearing, the gathered Autobots stood and helped the few who had trouble, all staring in utter confusion and shock after where the sparkling had disappeared.
“I thought you said they were a flier! Explain to me why they have treads!”, Sentinel snapped, jabbing his finger at Ratchet who fiercely swatted it away.
“I might be old, but my optics are still better then yours ever will be! I know what I saw on their back!”
“Then why do they have treads?!”, Sentinel repeated.
As the two’s bickering turned into lowed shouting with their respective teammates trying to calm and hold the other back, the only non sentient metal being in the room was struck with a revelation. Sari’s eyes were wide, her mind distant as she mumbled something to low for anyone to hear. Optimus who had been closer to her noticed her say something and knelt down.
“Sari, what did you say?”, he asked.
The younger girl looked up, eyes urgent and terrified as she repeated.
“We have to find that sparkling. Now!”
Optimus, knowing of the urgency to find the sparkling agreed with her, but he couldn’t understand why Sari had seemed to have fear. His concern was answered when the ship they were in began to shake, the sounds of what appeared to be thunder roar from the ground as though there was an earthquake.
“What the hell was that?!”, Sentinel snapped, already fuming from his verbal fight with Ratchet to deal with anything more.
Blurr sped over to the monitor, pressing buttons at the speed of light before the large screen lit up only to not show the ruin of an earthquake, but something much more terrifying.
“Peekaboo! Now where’s my liebling?!”, Blitzwing cackled, his Random persona bearing a promised death from the glare added to his crazed and unpredictable smile.
