Bookshop Owner!Obi Wan x Teacher!Reader

You were still rather new to the small town when you'd entered the small bookstore looking for materials that'd be good for your newly acquired teaching position. Upon entering the store itself gave off a first impression of being heavily disorganized and all over the place, but with closer inspection you'd noticed it was rather neatly organized just in the owner's own self appointed system. 

It was as you trailed your finger along several titles stopping to gently pull out a weathered copy of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, that you'd noticed a brush of movement, silent in every way but to the eye. Just barely seen over the top of a neighboring shelf, you'd spotted a person puzzling over the books in front of them, or at least it seemed that way with what little you could see of flickering eyes that seemed bluer than the sky outside and furrowed brows. You hadn't meant to watch the person, but each time you'd tried to pull your eyes away, back to the shelf in front of you, you'd found them drifting back to glance at those clear blue eyes. After the third time this happened, you felt an embarrassed frustrated flush heat the tips of your ears as you made yet another attempt to page through the copy in your hands, only managing to leaf through a few more pages before finding your eyes trailing upwards once more, only now your eyes met the clear blue as they'd finally noticed your own quiet movement. 

Fully embarrassed now, you watched with a bit of alarm as the person moved in your direction, the clear blue of their eyes now shining with curiosity. In only a few seconds he'd made his way to where you stood clutching Frankenstein to your chest like a lifeline once you got a full view of the man.

Clean. That was your first impression of him. His hair sweated back behind his ears and fell in soft waves to the very top of his shoulders. Shoulders of which you couldn't stop your brain from making an appreciative note were broad with strong looking arms and a full chest connected. He wore just a simple loose cream button down and brown trousers with a set of similarly colored suspenders, of which didn't seem to be doing much as they hung loosely around his waist, and what a waist it was.

Thoughts leading nowhere good, you startled and snapped out of your revelry, dragging your eyes up to meet his again, only pausing once to take in the pin secured to the not of his loose blue neckerchief, small and weathered bronze, obviously old and loved it was circular and printed with what looked like a set of wings with a star connecting both sides in the middle, it was quite beautiful in a plain sort of way. 

Once your eyes met again, you found a soft smile and crinkled eyes to greet you along with a just as softly accented, "Hello there."

Still embarrassed at your gawking, you cleared your throat and answered with your own soft, "Good afternoon."

The man unphased, and seemingly endlessly curious leaned forward, smile somewhat mischievous now, said, "I truly hope its not too forward, but I've never had the grace of seeing you around before, let alone in my shop, may I ask for your name?"

Stuttering out your name, you felt the heat return, but more as a simmering in your chest as you heard the man speak more, his accent a perfect compliment to the rest of his perfectly imperfect-ness. But the man, completely oblivious to your quiet replies, only smiles wider at you and bids you welcome to his shop once more as he introduced himself to you before asking, "And what brings such a fresh face to this part of the world?"

"Oh, I've, uh, I've been hired on to be the town's school teacher. I haven't come with too much and the books at the school building seemed a little worse for wear, so I'd thought I may come refresh the shelves, so to speak."

Brightening even more- you were almost certain he was partially made of pure light at this point, scared if he got any brighter you would no longer be able to look at him, and what a shame that would be- he pointed to the book still clutched in your hands.

"And a wonderful start to your new collection if I might say. A quite many lessons you can squeeze out of my dear friend Ms. Shelley for any age group, I believe," pausing he clasps his hands behind his back, getting a bit of afar off look to his eyes, one that lead you to believe he was deep in thought, before humming and asking, "Do you have any more books in mind you want specifically, because I'd be more than happy to help find anything as well as make any of my own suggestions."

At his offer you felt a bit of relief, and nodded just slightly, "I more so just came in to browse, shocked a store like your own would be in such a small town, but any and all help would be much appreciated Mr. Kenobi."

"Please, no need for formalities, they make me feel stiff and always seem too polite, just Obi Wan is fine. Well as long as you are comfortable with that, my dear." 

With his words, the never ending flush of heat returned once more, as you just nodded a but speechless following the pet names and in his earnest gaze.

After that he led you around the shop offering several more books as he told you a bit about the town and the people, but especially focusing on the children. He'd explained that he'd been holding a story hour for the younger of the town for the last few months and was quite overjoyed that the younglings, as he liked to refer to them as, were finally going to be receiving a proper education.

You truly hadn't meant to spend more than just a few minutes in the bookshop, and possibly only grab two or three books, but you'd noticed that as you'd stepped out of the building after nearly fight with Mr. Ken-, Obi Wan, over whether you were paying for the books or not- he'd eventually won out in just giving you the books, but was unaware of the pennies you'd dropped onto the table quietly by the door as you'd walked out- you'd noticed the midday sun had dipped down as the gold and red hues of sunset started to take over.

As you headed to the small home next to the school house, you felt a nagging sensation at the back of your head, and in turning, you found Obi Wan standing outside his door watching you walk away. Still close enough, you could see his lips turn up once more into a smile as he lifted his hand in a wave, which you returned both, before turning away once more.

The last thing you thought as you'd turned away was how his hair wasn't the sand blonde you'd thought it was in the low light of his shop, but in fact had a coppery hue which formed a glowing hole around him in the dying light of day.

The paddock was buzzing with its usual energy, reporters were darting around, cameras flashing, and the hum of engines in the background. But there was something else today, a shift in the air.

Y/n adjusted her sunglasses as she stepped through the gates, her head held high. Sure she had seen a few of Max's races by now but this was her first proper appearance in public since everything went down. The whispers started almost immediately, staff and fans alike craning their necks to confirm what they were seeing.

"Is that Y/n L/n?"

"She's back oh my god?"

"Why is she here?"

She ignored them, focusing instead on the task at hand. She wasn’t here to make a scene. She wasn’t even sure if she belonged here anymore. But fate had a funny way of disrupting plans, and that disruption came in the form of Lando Norris.

He was walking toward her, head tilted as he laughed at something his trainer had just said. But then he saw her. The laughter froze on his face, replaced by something unreadable.

“Y/n,” he said, stopping dead in his tracks.

She sighed, wishing she could disappear into thin air. “Lando.”

His expression shifted, a mix of confusion and something almost apologetic. “Didn’t think I’d see you here,” he said, his tone tight.

“Yeah, well,” she replied, keeping her voice even, “I didn’t think I’d be back either.”

There was a beat of silence, heavy and awkward. The noise of the paddock seemed distant now, as if the world had shrunk to just the two of them.

“Its been a while, too long,” he said finally, his eyes searching hers.

She crossed her arms, her guard shooting up. “Yeah, well, sometimes people need space..”

Lando smiled, almost bittersweetly. "About that... I owe you an apology, a huge one."

She glanced away, the weight of his words pressing on her chest. "Its in the past Lando, and it should stay that way, I didn't come here to argue or whatever with you." She said quietly.

“Then why are you here?” he asked, his tone almost begging.

Y/n looked up to meet his gaze, forcing herself to stand her ground. "Because it's time," She said.

Lando stared at her for a moment, his jaw clenched, before exhaling sharply. “Right. Well, welcome back, I guess.” The words were clipped, and he turned on his heel, walking away without another glance.

Y/n stood there, her heart pounding in her chest as she watched him go. She knew coming back wouldn’t be easy, but she hadn’t expected it to hurt the way it did.

Interviewer: Thank you so much for sitting down with us, Y/n. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from you. How are you doing?

Y/n: Honestly, better. Much better. It’s been a tough year, but I'm moving past it.

Interviewer: A lot of fans were surprised when you deleted all your social media accounts last year. Can you talk about what led to that decision?

Y/n: Oh, absolutely. Social media can be such a toxic place, especially when you’re in the public eye. I found myself constantly comparing my life to others and reading comments that… weren’t exactly kind. It started affecting my mental health in ways I didn’t even realise at first. So, one day, I just decided to take a break. That "break" turned into completely stepping away. I needed to reconnect with myself outside of likes, comments, and curated images.

Interviewer: Was it difficult to step away, considering how much social media connects you to your fans?

Y/n: Very difficult. I love my fans, they’ve been a huge source of support for me. But I realised I couldn’t pour into them or anyone else if I wasn’t taking care of myself first. The funny thing is, I think stepping away has helped me foster a healthier relationship with fame overall.

Interviewer: Speaking of fame, you’ve spoken before about how overwhelming it can be. Did that play a role in the struggles you’ve faced?

Y/n: Definitely. Fame is… weird. There’s no handbook on how to handle it, especially when you’re young and suddenly everyone has an opinion about you. I had to learn how to reinvent myself, not in a public sense, but internally. I needed to figure out who I was outside of the noise. I'm someone who normally focuses a lot on how other people think of me, so I really had to focus on rewiring myself so I can move forward and ignore public opinions.

Interviewer: Trust seems to be a recurring theme. You’ve mentioned betrayal from friends. How did that impact you?

Y/n: It was devastating, to be honest. There’s nothing worse than giving someone your trust and having them break it. I won’t go into specifics, but it made me incredibly guarded for a while. It’s hard not to question everyone’s intentions after something like that.

Interviewer: How did you move forward from that?

Y/n: It took time. A lot of time. And I won’t lie, there are still days when I struggle with it. But I’ve learned that holding onto anger or hurt only weighs you down. You have to let it go for your own peace. Meeting new people helped, too.

Interviewer: Someone in particular, perhaps?

Y/n: [laughs softly] Maybe.

Interviewer: Care to elaborate?

Y/n: I’ll just say this—meeting someone who sees you for who you are, without all the labels or the baggage, is incredibly refreshing. It wasn’t something I was looking for, but it’s been… healing, in a way.

Interviewer: That sounds wonderful. Do you feel like this new chapter in your life is helping you rediscover yourself?

Y/n: Absolutely. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m living for myself, not for anyone else’s expectations. It’s freeing.

Interviewer: That’s such a powerful message, especially for your fans. What would you say to someone going through their own struggles right now?

Y/n: I’d tell them that it’s okay to take a step back and focus on yourself. It’s not selfish; it’s necessary. Find your people, the ones who love you unconditionally, and lean on them. And most importantly, be patient with yourself. Healing isn’t an easy journey, but it’s worth it.

Interviewer: Thank you for being so open with us, Y/n. It’s inspiring to see how far you’ve come.

The room was dark, save for the faint glow of moonlight filtering through the curtains. Y/n shifted under the blankets, her mind wandering in that hazy space between sleep and wakefulness. Beside her, Max lay sound asleep, his breathing soft and steady.

She turned slightly, propping herself up on one elbow to look at him. His face was relaxed, a peacefulness in his expression that tugged at her heart. The way the moonlight kissed his features made him look like something out of a dream.

Y/n smiled to herself, warmth blooming in her chest. She thought about everything they had been through, how he’d stood by her, quietly steady, when her world had crumbled. How he made her feel safe, loved, and seen in ways no one ever had.

Her thoughts were racing now, snippets of words and feelings swirling in her head. It was a familiar spark, the kind she knew better than to ignore. Carefully, she slipped out of bed, grabbing her phone and a notebook from the nightstand.

Padding softly into the living room, she curled up on the couch and began scribbling. The words came effortlessly, a melody forming in her mind as she wrote.

Her hand moved quickly across the page, the emotions pouring out as she thought about all the ways he made her feel protected, cherished, free.

She started humming to herself as she wrote, "I want to wear his initial on a chain round my neck, chain round my neck, Not because he owns me, but cause he really knows me…”

She smiled, it felt raw and honest, a reflection of the loved they shared. She didn’t stop writing until the song was finished. Once she was satisfied, she set the notebook aside and tiptoed back to the bedroom. But not before calling her producer, "Hey Adam, can we add one more song to the tracklist?"

After the finished their conversation, she slid under the covers, and nestled closer to Max, who stirred slightly but didn’t wake.

As she rested her head against his chest, she whispered softly, “You don’t even know it, but you’re my muse."

Oh, I’d love to, never thought you’d ask! I’d definitely love to write a fic of you pampering him though, omggggggg 🥺

But to start off, you’d set off the atmosphere for him. You’d dim the lights in the room, whether he’s laying in his room or settling in the bathroom, and light some scented candles. You’d play some soft instrumental music or some nature sounds to help him fully unwind. You’d even give a nice fluffy robe and some slippers to put on and feel comfortable in—especially if it’s a color he secretly likes.

Then, it’s all about helping him relax and relieve him from the pain. Giving him a bath infused with some Epsom salts to relax his muscles, maybe adding some oat or coconut milk to soften his skin, and some few drops of an essential oil—with a sprinkle of some rose petals or a bath bomb for an extra touch. While he sits there, you’d give him a gentle scalp massage to his pretty little curls and add on a nourishing hair mask. After the bath, you’d apply a heated compress or a back wrap to soothe the pain even more so. Then, you’d give him a longer, deeper back massage, maybe using some type of other oil for the inflammation and pain.

As much as he’d try to not to give in and admit how much he’d love to indulge, his body wouldn’t give in to enjoying the more ~girly~ self-care products. I think his favorites would be a face mask, following then a little facial massage with a jade roller or a gua shua—you could also use this on his back, if the pain was that bad and if he was comfortable with you working deep down into the tissues. He’d be hesitant, at first, but because you love him and he’d know that you’d want to take care of him, he’d let you even exfoliate his hands and feet with a sugar scrub, after you convince him how much it’ll make him feel better, especially with wrapping his feet in warm towels after applying lotion on them. Perhaps, you’d also convince him to let him try a lip mask, too, to include the full package of care and pampering. And before bed, you’d spritz some pillow mist of some sort for him, helping him sleep better.

"i picked up some fresh ingredients for your favorite." jay set the bags on the counter and turned around to talk more to you but you just tackled him in a hug. many would be surprised to see this mature looking high school third year, a giant of a high school third year, actually having a soft heart underneath all his muscles and intimidating looks. he was just the sweetest, and you could vouch for it—because he really had a hard time saying no to you and your antics.

sure, you were smaller than him (and the much cuter one in the relationship, in his eyes) though you were like a firecracker; going off whenever everyone least expected it and just doing what you wanted at any given time.

sugawara and daichi were always worrying for the big man, he was responsible, though when handling you, he'd melt into a big puddle of shyness and utter affection whenever you'd peck a kiss on his cheek or give him a hug. you could never keep your hands off him, to the point that when you were being so clingy to him one time, he came into practice looking all bashful, with you riding on his back, gently biting at his reddening cheeks that just kept blushing due to how cute and loving you were being to him.

he can never get used to how much love your smaller self had for him, he can't take all the love you could give, though he was always willing to take it all and give you all of his love for you. you always surprised him with how hyper you could be, but that was part of the wonderful, lovable package that was you.

"i know, they can get... a bit too much sometimes, but i love them like that, and that'll never change." he'd gush to sugawara and daichi, to which they'd nod and sigh. 'he's completely smitten with them, isn't he?'

to faze kita is to be an absolutely feral person that nobody, not even the miya twins, could rival in having the most ridiculous antics; and that person was... of course, you. he was a straightforward, seemingly perfect, honors student; the no-nonsense captain of inarizaki's male volleyball team, and, surprisingly, your boyfriend.

he does everything on his own time, everything for every hour of every day had a schedule—everything was predictable because everything has a natural flow to follow, kita believed, until you came into his life and turned his oh-so organized life upside down. your chaotic nature could not be controlled, kita could only do so much to keep you in check—such as personally attending to you whenever he can to make sure you didn't do anything rash nor hurt yourself by accident.

he was always a worrier, much like daichi, and he could never settle down to think until you were safe and sound, not causing any chaos nor finding yourself in any chaos. he did respect your independence and never sought to control your actions, though all he hoped to teach you was self-control and moderation, that you can be as chaotic as you want with him, but make sure not to hurt others nor yourself when doing so.

he has said to you before, you can do whatever you feel like with him, just make sure not to hurt yourself or others—so you did just what you felt like doing when kita was mopping the floors of the gym. you rushed up to him, screamed his name all loudly and sweetly, and jumped on his back. gin, aran, suna, and the twins were there when it happened, and of course, they were all partially shocked to see that kita didn't budge at you lunging at him.

suna filmed you kissing down his neck as kita held your legs in place so you wouldn't fall, and steadied your grasp on him. "my love, i did say you could do what you want with me, but what i meant by that was behind closed doors." he reminded you with a stern, yet soft, voice. he could never raise his voice, especially not towards you, his beloved. mopping the floors would have to be rescheduled for later in the day, looks like right now, kita would be taking you outside to piggy back ride you as you smothered him with all your affection. the most unpredictable part of his days are always with you; they're always the most exciting part of his days.

It was random but he was super charming, I think the rest of the band used it as a break, it was just SO GREAT. Part of his intro was: "Pete was putting together this show and he said to me, 'Hey, you should play piano.' And I was like, 'I kinda only play songs I wrote. I don't really play piano. I don't know how to play piano.' And he's like, 'Eh, you'll figure it out.'" And then Patrick sat down and played gorgeous piano ugh THANKS, PETE.

The show ends with a little piano version of So Much (for) Stardust played over the sound system, so pay attention for that.

The set is super Alice in Wonderland-y and I adored it, it's playful and fantastical and has all these whimsical touches and interludes and I just thought it was delightful and at one point there were bubbles, and I heard some people complaining after the concert that the fantasy thing didn't suit their style of music and really, I was surrounded by downers after the concert, I thought they were perfect hahaha. Like, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. They looked so, so, so tangibly happy, all of them. Patrick sounded fantastic and he looked like he was having a blast, he smiled the whole time.

I have a lot of videos but they seem like they're all pretty terrible, but I'll see how I feel in the morning lol
