Summary: Sam and Dean make it back from the Bad Place (S13E09) with minor scratches but as the weeks move on, Sam becomes ever more protective of Dean and flies of the handle far more easily than is normal for him. When Dean is hurt during a hunt things come to a head and they dive into research trying to work out what led to Sam being not only more possessive and territorial over Dean but before they can really work out what is happening a fundamental change happens to Sam that puts Dean in danger. How can the reconcile what Sam has become with the lives they lead?

A sequel to When You Wish Upon A Star

Cas wakes with his arms wrapped tightly around Dean, the incredible Omega he met the night before in the hotel courtyard. Much as he wants to stay, the convention starts soon, and he has responsibilities.

If only his Alpha would calm down.

The idea of leaving Dean’s warm bed was pure torture. Cas debated staying put for a bit longer, but he knew if he didn't get moving he’d never want to leave. Hell, he already never wanted to leave, all of his instincts screaming at him to stay wrapped in Dean’s embrace, marking him again and again by any means possible. He nuzzled gently at Dean’s throat, filling his lungs with the intoxicating scent of the Omega. A soft purr rumbled through Cas’ chest, and Dean turned toward him in his sleep, the corners of his mouth lifting in a little smile before he cuddled against Cas’ throat and fell back into a deeper sleep.

It had been a very late – and intensely satisfying – night.

They’d been insatiable, fucking again and again, in the bed, in the bath, on the balcony, with Cas’ hand clamped hard over Dean’s mouth to muffle his cries as he knotted the Omega for the third time. The noise of the city below them had faded into the background as Dean clenched around his cock, dragging him over the edge in another freefall into ecstasy as Cas’ knot was milked relentlessly.

He had never, never had a night like that, and he debated pulling Dean into his arms and going back to sleep.

But no. He couldn't do that. A lot of people were expecting him to show up this morning to sign his newest book, and his fans deserved better than to have him ditching them for someone he just met.

Even if he smelled like heaven.
