Eclipse: This is amazing! I got kicked out of the Black Comet, but I finally have a brother!

Shadow: Yes. Now come meet Silver.

Eclipse: Oh, is he a friend?

(When they get to Shadow’s house)

Silver, a seven year old hedgehog with just enough Black Arms DNA to have a longer tail and a third eye (when his powers act up): Wait, if you’re dad’s brother… You’re my uncle?!

Eclipse: I’m your uncle?!

Cue the both of them going “I’m your uncle!!”/“You’re my uncle!!” for like five minutes.

This is the best day of Eclipse’s life. He finds his brother, and then finds out he has a nephew?! Could this day get any better?

Shadow: Come on, I need to introduce you to the rest of the family.

Eclipse: There’s more?!

Yep. Shadow introduces him to Rouge and Omega, his best friends whom he considers family. Then they meet Cream and Vanilla, who are Shadow’s adopted sister and niece. They kind of adopted each other, really. Then he meets Team Sonic. And eventually, during one of those particularly rough days, Eclipse will learn about Maria.

Metal sonic in my AU

idk why I did this I don't really plan on exploring metal much, but I have some HC ideas. I could see a nice comic about his slow decline and attempted escape from eggman.

Shadow and Omega want to save Metal:

I wonder if much of metal's thoughts would fall to "why bother" and a feeling of hopelessness and accepting his circumstances. Maybe he would have forgotten himself all together...He was a copy of Sonic's personalty, during sonic's younger years, so it's kinda disturbing to consider how his tween brain would have been altered.

I don't think he would understand Shadow and Omega's want to free him--It's weird to feel like someone is going out of their way to help you when you feel there's no point.

Eggman's relationship:

Over the 2000s eggman started warming up to his creations, so one line of thinking might be eggman's relationship with his creations becoming more complicated, given his advancement of AI/machine learning. He made machines that argued with him, and thats very telling.

What if metal is finally freed and forgives his creator, unlike omega? What if he willingly chooses to return to eggman? Imagine the impact that might have on the Doctoir--of course, he would never say that it warmed his heart, but that would be the moment he started veiwing his creations are his legacy: his children...

Do you think Eggman would have secretly allowed Metal to escape the network, but be in denial of it? I think metal would struggle a lot, trying to adjust to his sudden ability to control everything. Who knows maybe his code doesnt even have all that figured out and he needs the network AI to figure it out. Im sure tails could help him.

I think Omega and Metal would be friends. I think Shadow would be happy and fulfilled by either end (metal staying with GUN or returning to eggman).

Love the dadow headcannon but let me take it one step further, Metal Sonic and Omega are Silver's uncles.

Shadow, Omega and Metal are the only character's I can see living long enough to see Silvers time.

Metal lost his purpose after Eggman and Sonic died. He focused on the one objective in his program that he could do, surpass Sonic.

He tried to become a better hero then Sonic and mimicked him in everyway. However, as time has gone on, his memory has corrupted and faded, causing him to somewhat form his own personality (but still with bits of Sonic in there)

He, Shadow and Omega have crossed paths with each other enough to be somewhat friendly with each other. Shadow is also just happy to see Metal become his own person.

One day, Shadow finds baby Silver in a bin and is like 'this is mine now'. He enlists the help of the two war machines to raise Silver into the time traveller they would meet in the past.

Metal would love Silver. Sonic raised Tail (as brothers but still) so he's gotta have some sort of kindness/nurturing instinct. Also Metal spends a lot of his time fighting off bad guys and never has the opportunity to make meaningful connections with people. The closest person he had was Shadow. So he's very happy to have the little physic pot head baby in his life.

No one knows what they're doing and none of them should be raising a child.

If Team Dark was in Sonic Boom, I feel that it would be funny if Rouge was introduced by Shadow making sure she gets home okay while she’s drunk and one or two of the members find him walking her home. Or maybe Rouge finds them first and Shadow appears to get her back to her house, and Rouge pretty much calls him her little brother. Shadow is 100% going to use that to mess with her tomorrow morning. Omega being there would be funny, too.

Rouge, drunk: How dare you call my little brother a villain! He’s just antisocial!

Shadow, picking Rouge up and pulling her off Sonic: Rouge, stop trying to fight people who don’t like me while drunk.

Omega: AGREED. INTOXICATION NEGATIVELY INFLUENCES YOUR ABILITY TO FIGHT.
