Sometimes, I want Shadow to be really upset and Omega picks him up and brings him in for a hug and says “APPLYING DEEP PRESSURE” before tightening the hug because Shadow likes deep pressure hugs, and Shadow just chills there with his eyes closed, legs dangling and arms wrapped around Omega the best they can.

Bonus points if Rouge walks in and jokes about Omega caring about them and being a hugger, and Omega goes “NEGATIVE. I AM SIMPLY AIDING SHADOW IN REGULATING HIS EMOTIONS.”

Ah, they've left the house... *Places a brick painted the same color as the bigass house's staircase a little higher than halfway up the stairs.* Surely no one will trip over this or anything... Alright, back to the saving Tails plot!

*excellent... Now someone will trip when they come back... But who?*

*Amy is running alongside Sticks, Metal, and Omega. Metal is running slower than he's capable of in order to stay near Amy. Alice is on her way, but she's too slow to keep up with anyone else. Rouge and Silver are flying ahead. Amy grips her hammer, her gut twisting with nerves*

How didn't we notice? I thought for sure Tails was taking part, wasn't he?

I did not notice him being in the room. He must have left beforehand.

Mm.. I hope he isn't hurt. Would Eggman..? Metal, you know him.. Would Eggman hurt Tails? He's just a kid...

*Metal is silent for a moment* ... Perhaps. If he was desperate. But I doubt he will get to that point. He is likely using Tails as bait. *He watches as Amy's brow furrows with concern as they run* ... Amy.

*she looks up at him*

He will be alright. I will make sure of it.

... Thank you, Metal... You're.. thank you.

.. you care for him, so I do as well. That is important to me.

*Amy smiles, feeling her heart melt a bit. She runs a bit faster, finding some extra energy from his words*

They found the internet, and they thought "My God, it's full of stars..."

Rouge is absolutely, out of all the Sonic cast, the one who collects memes/videos/posts that she finds funny or that remind her of her friends.

Rouge shows Shadow mostly self-help posts and bits of poetry. She also knows that he likes those cheesy "tough guy" memes, especially when it involves guns or motorcycles. He likes to print out any posts that resonate and hang them up in his room.

Rouge shows Omega any and all posts or memes about guns and explosions, of course. But she also finds and shows him the best of those "epic fail" videos- seeing meatbags doing stupid shit and falling on their faces for it gets him every time. She's sworn to never tell.

Rouge sends Sonic memes people make about himself, mostly. But occasionally also a meme so damn abstract it transcends the concepts of space and time.

Rouge and Tails scour the internet for the worst knockoff Sonic merch they can find. It's a competition between them, honestly. Rouge is currently winning after she found the world's worst AI generated mug, where it looks like the intended idea was for the user to be drinking their beverage. . . out of one of Sonic's shoes. (She keeps threatening to buy it and send it to his workshop whenever he annoys her.)

Rouge and Amy don't send each other anything, but they do share a few pinterest boards and collaborate together on playlists. The one exception to this was a meme Rouge found and just had to show- someone had managed to snap a photo of a Badnik in a convenience store and captioned it with "robit in da grocery store, what he gonna buy". Amy laughed so hard she cried.

Rouge almost exclusively torments Knuckles with the most cursed images known the man. It's similar to that old bit from Peanuts- she's like Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown at the last second. This time, she promises, she is showing a funny joke. She promises! (it's all in good fun though. Little does she know that Knuckles collects the cursed images to send to Sonic whenever he gets annoying.)

Rouge's peak achievement was getting the whole gang together for a dramatic reading of a terribly-written real-person fanfic about Eggman. It was horrendous. Sonic just about stopped breathing from laughing so hard. Omega threatened to burn the apartment down seven times throughout. And Tails? Tails made it into a copypasta to spam in Eggman's inbox.

Guys. Eclipse and Shadow being brothers + Dadow.

Eclipse: This is amazing! I got kicked out of the Black Comet, but I finally have a brother!

Shadow: Yes. Now come meet Silver.

Eclipse: Oh, is he a friend?

(When they get to Shadow’s house)

Silver, a seven year old hedgehog with just enough Black Arms DNA to have a longer tail and a third eye (when his powers act up): Wait, if you’re dad’s brother… You’re my uncle?!

Eclipse: I’m your uncle?!

Cue the both of them going “I’m your uncle!!”/“You’re my uncle!!” for like five minutes.

This is the best day of Eclipse’s life. He finds his brother, and then finds out he has a nephew?! Could this day get any better?

Shadow: Come on, I need to introduce you to the rest of the family.

Eclipse: There’s more?!

Yep. Shadow introduces him to Rouge and Omega, his best friends whom he considers family. Then they meet Cream and Vanilla, who are Shadow’s adopted sister and niece. They kind of adopted each other, really. Then he meets Team Sonic. And eventually, during one of those particularly rough days, Eclipse will learn about Maria.

*Shadow is lost in Sonic's gaze. Is this real? Is this really happening? He sets the drinks on the floor and reaches out. He's just far away enough for their fingertips to brush. The touch is both soft and electric, making Shadow's quills fluff up a little. He leans forward, wanting to close the tiny gap between their hands*

*Omega starts making a loud siren sound, running into the room from the garage* Tails is gone! I went to collect him and his bag is missing. The door is open. I have not seen him all night.

*Sonic's gut drops. He looks at Shadow, his eyes wide* ... No.. That gadget, didn't he say it was Eggman tech?

..... Let's go. *They start running, a few of the others collecting their gear and chasing after them*
