I think the Ology book series could def be cannonical to Gravity Falls and vice versa (assuming that the Ology books take place in the same cannon, which they do in my heart of hearts)

Im back deep DEEP in a GF interest yet again and i finally got my hands on the 3rd Journal and even The Book Of Bill (which i will read after my first read through of J3) and it reads out EXACTLY like someone was dropped into the ology world with no knowledge of ology books. Ford is a wizard(ologist) with no manual!

Imagine Dipper and Mabel growing up with the ology books like dragonology and egyptology and all that - plenty in them for both of their interests! And THEN they move to gravity falls. Hell! Could be a background reason of why theyre able to yes-and everything so well!

so, to answer your question, it’s basically this on steroids. it’s bad enough if you start dating, but if it’s mattheo ??? ten times worse. theo just does everything to keep matty busy, constantly inviting him to hang out, ‘just like the old days’, going to bars and clubs and getting wasted. maybe you’ll see that mattheo isn’t as good of a bf as he seems, right? he keeps him playing games twice as much as before, always wanting to go for ‘just another round’, and mattheo’s just like ‘mate? wtf are you on ???’. but he figures it out quickly, since he knew about your and theo’s situation from the start, and he’s just smug af, which makes theo’s blood boil. and !!! the fucking contest when both of them are staying over and your and you sister’s apartment !!! they just go all out, with mattheo just wanting to rub it in theo’s face that he has you, and theo wanting you to hear how good he’s fucking your sister, that he could be better than mattheo in so many ways

Super basic answer but Loop is just feline af to me. Like just a huge amalgam of felidae of all types.

Some different kitty traits that are strictly observable from canon Loop alone(spoilers ahead):

-Adept at climbing trees

-Separation anxiety(Which is why Loop and Siffrin are basically destined to become a bonded pair)

-Slender, muscular, build

-Quick reflexes(Snatching the coin from mid air with their limited depth perception(as someone with depth perception and vision problems if I tried to snatch a quarter from the air I'd fumble so bad))

-Good at sneaking and hiding

-Large, forward facing, eyes

-Spotted pattern

-Mostly solitary and secretive lifestyle

-Occupies a forested area

-Parallel play (Loop and Siffrin can just sit in silence together at some point)

-Sleeps a lot

-Aggression based in fear and territorialism(over the party)

-Hides while in distress (avoids the party and even tries to avoid Siffrin in act 6)

-Meowing (Nya-ing?)

-Aggressive play and/or Feline Asocial aggression(Kinda mean and annoying to Sif for their own amusement or because they simply don't like him as a replacement)

-Observational learner and problem solver

-Watches over Siffrin to ensure safety A LOT (They can't actually protect Siffrin in the typical sense but they can learn from his mistakes and give them advice. See above↑)

-Also have you ever just looked at them and then looked at a cat?

Cookies Can't Heal, not naturally at least

they’re dough and icing, not living cells. So, when they crumble/crack slightly they need outside help.

This has no merit/backing whatsoever, I'm just crazy for these funky-ass deserts with even funkier lore. (Now with even more of such funky lore)

okay so, cookies don't technically have living cells. That's why they’re baked and not born, which could lead to not having the “biology” to naturally heal wounds. we can excuse tiny cuts with leftover magic within the dough. which leads to another tangent about older cookies not being able to self-heal at all. Thats another a post for another day tho..

let's say that a cookie cut open their hand while cooking. they got three options, “air drying”, icing, or healing magic.

"Air Drying" - This method is used for a variety of injuries, from small cuts to larger wounds. It’s basically letting a (safe) mold build up in the wound to solidify into harder stuff. Generally, this is where scarring comes from. This method is dangerous since bad molds can develop instead.

yes, this does mean that scarring for cookies can be a variety of colors

Icing: it's a more widespread use than magic since it's a lot more accessible, but it's basically a resin variety of icing that mixes in dyes or additives to match the cookie dough. It's basically spackle but for cookies. Some cookies mix in the crumbs from the wound into the spackle icing. Theres a multitude of reasons for this: personal, cultural, each cookie has a reason.

A rare use for spackle icing is for the use of cosmetics or extreme modifications. Cookies will intentionally crumble a part of the visible dough to spackle in colored icing. Sort of like Kintsugi, repairing something broken with filling. Like the technique, many cookies choose to add in more metallic colors for a better look. This makes me think this is/was a trend for cookies with a more noble background.

Healing Magic: Pretty self-explanatory, magic that heals the dough. I could probably make some complex reason for how it works but I'm too lazy (and dumb) to make that post.

Dough magic: it's what keeps them alive, it is what determines their lifespan, magic use, and overall “health”. I'll make a separate post on my thoughts on what exactly "Dough Magic" is. Probably should think of a better name, but DM should suffice.
