Dogma, confused: A Pride Pin...? Isn't that breaking the dress code...? Hound, grinning: Nope! This month is the only month where the Guard are allowed to wear little pins to showcase Coruscant's "love" of inclusivity and diversity. We're actively encouraged to embrace the rainbow. Dogma, frowning: ...Why does this sound like some kind of disingenuous corporate PR plot to make the Senate look good? Olly, sighing: Because it is... Rhythm, rummaging through his trunk: On the bright side, we get to have colorful and pretty pins! Plus, because it's Pride Month, everyone currently on-planet is on their best behavior around us because they don't want to seem like bigoted assholes by attacking the Guard. Thorn, handing Dogma a pin: Here you go kid. Custom made just for you! Dogma, staring at the demisexual homoromantic pin he's just been handed: How did you...? I haven't really told anyone about this... Olly, wearing an asexual homoromantic pin: Thorn has his sources. It's a little scary, honestly... Slick, wearing a bisexual pin: And extremely invasive, if you ask me... Hound, wearing a 'still figuring it out but definitely not straight' pin: He's always just been good at figuring it out. In fact, he's sent pins to every single commander and literally made them realize some stuff about themselves they hadn't even considered. Fox, peeking his head into the barracks: Bastard lost me a ton of credits by clocking Cody in as Aroace before anyone else did. Thorn, snorting: You really shouldn't have bet on his tolerance of Kenobi as being attraction. Fox: Can you blame me? They both have the biggest slut energy...

They became the signals, do you understand. They became the sailors. Alex, Jonas, Clarissa, Ren, Nona, they were the USS Kanaloa. They were the trapped, lost souls who were so desperate to get out. They were the ones preying on the traumatized and vulnerable, knowing how to convince Olivia away because it happened to them, too. Their only difference from the sailors is that they tried to be ‘nicer’ about it, that Alex was able to drop everything before it went too far, but even then...

All of it, every last piece, is a cycle. Of time, of trauma, of generations, of death. Leave is not possible on any of these fronts, because it is impossible to leave when claws sink in so deep that you run right back to the beginning, and only at the end, looking back, do you realize what you broke as you fought to go home. Becoming what hurt you, because you knew no other way to survive.

They’re kids. They’re scared, lost kids, who didn’t know what else to do. So they acted on what they hoped would work, and they’d think about those consequences when they were finally safe. The sailors almost had them, so they will follow suit, but they’ll do it right, and then they’ll be okay. It’ll all be okay, won’t it?

They wanted to live. But so did the sailors. 

And so, once more, we return to the beginning.

Ik letting Olivia go is commonly considered the best ending just because every other ending is more obviously and immediately worse but I can't help but think, well... Olivia deserves to grow up too. She might be happier living in the static past before her parents died but I could imagine another world where she got to grow up, find other things that make the present worth living, process her grief and walk out of the time loop of her own denial. It's what she wanted, but she wanted it in that moment, that tiniest fragment of the length of her life that could have been - that will now determine her forever. Would she want this forever?

Zodiac Heroes Poll: Ox

Another idea I kinda want to play around with and plan for is the chaos of Fu only having the Chinese Zodiac and he releases them all to spite and deal with HM, cause how dare he misuse a Miraculous.

Only there are 12 heroes and a struggle to decide who gets what as possibilities are endless. I have tried and just kept going back and forth and constantly changed my mind.

So for fun, let's do them in polls! I'll be doing three a week, and provide links to other polls as they get released.

Choose very carefully, as each Zodiac will have a variety of potential characters to use it. What character wins in this poll is what they get and that option is removed from future polls.

Ox Miraculous will have the power Willpower, granting super strength, but it comes down to one's own resolve and determination. The more determined you are, the stronger you'll be.

Stompp is gruff and blunt, always to the point and clear on his stances. He like to urge humans to step up their game, be ready for any challenge, and to not back down. He likes to urge humans to be responsible, honest, and dependable. He holds a firm belief that the strong should defend and support the weak. He can have a bit of a temper and be a little hotheaded.

Before his second growth spurt, Olly used to skateboard around the Corrie barracks whenever he wasn't on duty.

While he can still dance and play the guitar (after he's had to adjust his grip to basically play what now feels like a ukulele sized guitar), he can no longer skateboard because he's too big and he overcompensates for his new center of gravity a lot...

He really misses this particular hobby.
