"All archeologists thought this was a lost cause, but we proved them wrong, we proved them--" She suddenly stopped, buffering when she looked back and saw your surprised, but flustered, face. It had taken a few moments before it finally clicked on what had happened, or, more specifically, what she had done. "Oh... Oh! Oh my gosh, I am- I-I'm so sorry about that!" Olive went from over the moon to immediately embarrassed, waving her hands around as she quickly tried to explain herself. "I didn't mean to do that, oh gosh- I- I was just excited and you were with me and you were the only one I wanted to kiss and I wasn't thinking straight and-" You stopped her from speaking, and while worried for a moment, when you leaned in to give a more proper kiss, her worries almost immediately melted away as she kissed you right back. Her only worry now was how in the world was she gonna explain to your colleagues on how you two finally ended up together?

Onto my rant though: ✌️🗿 I decided to actually give Phan reading glasses, which is because his vision got terrible as he reached adulthood, and keeps them on his person all the time I kept his French accent because I can do what I want! 🫵👹 Also he has a very special bond with cats; he absolutely loves them no matter how many diseases they have. He is going to pet them to which he was given phantasm, and he absolutely loves her more than anything else.

Astra (reminder: she belongs to Red.) I’m not sure if I stated it before, but she did move from England to France. Basically, her mom decided that when she was in her teen years, meeting Phan was odd at first; it was hard to understand him, especially being pretty new there, but she got it down eventually, and if you remember in a post I made, she did teach Phan English; at least she tried, and of course she still remains a soprano, though the black liquid she cries must be some sign she wishes to leave back to her home. I mean, Phan should be a new change of pace, right?

CHARACTERS

Main:

Alice- The main protagonist that you play as. She’s smart and quick, both on her feet and in her mind. She’s extremely stubborn and once she has her head set on something it’s very hard to change her goals. She hates losing but she also knows when to give up and can admit when she’s wrong.

Shoko- Shoko is the exact opposite of Alice, she presents herself as dense and carefree. Despite witnessing everything above ground and underground, she continues to smile. In reality she’s extremely observant and once she gets to know someone she’s good at reading their tone.

Masquerade- Alice’s love interest. He’s quiet and observant, yet has many fans because of his calm, collected, and mysterious nature. He’s one of the first people you meet when you fall through the ground.

PartyHat- One of Shoko’s love interests and another one of the first people you meet after arriving at the circus. He’s a huge joker and wears his heart on his sleeves, he finds it extremely difficult to hide his distain from Synthia.

Charlie- Shoko’s second love interest. Behind his wide, eerie smile is someone who’s deeply loyal to his friends and even more loyal to Shoko. There’s a lot of secrets behind him though.

Synthia- The main antagonist and the leader of the circus. The way her glowing red eyes peer into you, you can’t help but hear a voice telling you to follow and trust her. She knows you more then you know you and she knows how to use this information against you.

Side:

Aesop- The mute janitor you meet and befriend. Some of the insane residents sewed his mouth shut and find other ways of torturing him.

Atlus- A member of the freak show, and a freak they are. Atlus the crazy monster who can attach and detach any limb at will.

Bella- A member of the twin acrobatics. She’s timid but filled with innocent, childlike curiosity.

Blair- The spider knife thrower. She holds an amazing power of force and precision, try not to cross paths with her.

Edward- The second member of the twin acrobats. He’s aloof and doesn’t have much to say, please try to excuse his sour personality.

Elliott- A charming and narcissistic leader of the freak show. No need to fear, he would never soil his beautiful hands with your blood.

Finn- The contortionist. An extremest. Finns personality is all over the place, he’s quick to any emotion, it’s as easy to make him angry as it is happy. With extremely flexibility and agility he makes a hard enemy.

Jo- The beast tamer. She’s has no remorse for almost everyone in the circus. She prefers to sit above and send her wild beast after troublemakers.

Oliver- a sadistic ring leader. He’s Synthia’s right hand man and controls the circus when she isn’t. His favorite past time is bullying Aesop with Pedro, his best bud.

Pedro- The sadistic, insane, sword swallower. Finds immense joy in hurting others, even his coworkers. His favorite victim is Aesop, and having a buddy to bully Aesop with just makes the entire experience better.

Quinn- Quinn is the extremely chill gremlin of the freak show. Yes, she’s chaotic, but unlike her coworkers, she doesn’t find that much joy in hurting others unless they did something to her family.

River- Buff, magician moth lady. She’s very energetic and friendly. She's often pulling gifts out of her hat after a show to give to guests.

Susie- The circus nurse. Although she is also a staff member and plays no part in the circus act, Pedro and Oliver don't bully her as much, I wonder why? She's extremely sweet and helps Alice and Shoko a lot throughout the story.

Wren- The older twin of the freak show. Unlike her younger sister, Wren will try to destroy you at every chance she gets. Wren is extremely protective of the freak show, even more protective of her younger twin.

Wynn- The younger twin of the freak show. She's shy and timid, beating Susie's own shy personality. She hardly speaks and when she does you can't make sense of what she's saying.

I’ve had them in my notes for AGES and I’ve still yet to finish a design, but i do intend on creating little skits of them cuz of how much I’ve invested giving them all personalities and pinterest boards. (If this isn’t me exhibiting my deep love for the Redactedverse idk what is)

Some descriptions are longer than the others, I’ve obviously put more thought into certain characters

•Shaw Twins

- both children are sadly ungifted in the kitchen, despite the fact that David has made them his little helpers when since they were little. Multiple flames have been put out because of them.

-Both do share a love for nature like their father.

Gabriella Shaw (Gabby)🫶🏻

- Angel carbon copy with a dash of Gabriel’s silliness and courage, which always made David smile.

- Natural born Leader. Despite being the eldest child (4 fucking minutes) David has never burdened them with the responsibility or thought of inheriting the business. She stepped into the leadership role on her own, with more brighter approach, personality wise.

- Rollerskates, Angel started taking her to roller rinks since age 6 and she loves taking Lyss and KC with her

Callum Grey Shaw 🌱

-Yes he’s named after the sweet Caelum. David wanted to commemorate his childhood friend.

- Inherited David’s resting bitch face, if you point it out he’ll even growl like he does.

- Great Observer. Because his sister was the more outgoing one of them, he was always the listener, making him more emotionally aware, noticing things most people miss.

- Loves sitcoms. He’s probably watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine so many times he can name episodes in order. This also translates his love for the security company his dad runs. Always begging David to take him to work with him. (I think we know who inherits the company)

•Talbot Troop

-Asher is the only one I picture having multiple kids with a range of age gaps.

-No doubt the most outgoing ones of the pack.

- The code name speaks for itself, he is very much like his old man when it comes to ensuring his friends don’t do anything stupid, and in the very common occasions they do, he of course serves them with a patented Collins lecture.

- He may be half vamp, but that doesn’t mean he has to have a mundane food pallet, this man can COOK and bake, a soft, crispy shelled sourdough being one of his specialties

- sarcastic, confident, somewhat frivolous, despite his royal status, which gets him in trouble for

- May or may not have a thing for the alpha’s daughter.

🎭 Masks 🎭

“Masking refers to the actions or coping strategies that individuals use to conceal their genuine thoughts, emotions, or challenges.”

In this au, both Thomas and Oliver feel the need to mask themselves in front of others. Being the Number One, one of the Guardians of Sodor and an accomplished and skilled fighter himself, Thomas feels the constant need to put on the cheerful, positive and typical all loving hero persona we all know and love for almost over a hundred years when deep down he’s actually quite broken from the war Alfred had started on the island, still suffers from nightmares and feels messed up, alone and helpless. This ultimately results in him becoming somewhat of an adrenaline junkie, seeking out dangerous situations to throw himself into when the pressure gets too much and he feels like he’s going to break; enjoying the buzz and rush of excitement over his own mental well-being.

Unlike Thomas who’s had years and years of masking himself perfectly for most of the time, Oliver finds it much more difficult to mask himself. his cynicism is stronger than Thomas’ from many years of torment and being treated like a disease by his own siblings on the Great Western and has made him incredibly dour, closed off and at times rather ruthless in terms of his own personality, despite being much happier on the island. Despite having many friends who also went through their own horrific experiences and being badly affected by them, Oliver finds it extremely difficult to open up and be vulnerable to many people preferring to keep it private and bottle it down.

When they’re together and away from the other eyes of their friends and fellow spirits, both revel in the comfort of being open with each other and the found ability to empathise and understand each other perfectly, often clinging onto each other for dear life and always missing each other when they’re apart, due to feeling and believing that no one else is able to truly understand except for the two of them. As both Thomas and Oliver puts it, they’re two of the most messed up spirits in the world trying to get by and survive by supporting and loving each other with all they got.

As i said before, me and my dearest friend wrote a poem about Jester. And we cannot translate it to other languages without loosing some important words or a rhyme.

The plot: Baldwin had a friend in Hamlet, a jester named Oliver (OC). They had a lot in common, but also Oliver was a big fan of "Tyrantslayer". He and Baldwin tried to write a poem about Sarmenti, a jester that destroyed tyrant and his corrupted court. This jester was like an idol for Oliver. Sadly, Oliver was deathly injured at expedition and had no chance to end his magnum opus. So Baldwin did it for him.

Poem describes both stories of Sarmenti and Oliver. At the beginning the blue jester (Oliver) sings about his inevitable end. Gathering the rest of his forces he starts telling the story of Sarmenti (in the way he sees it). After final chord, Oliver dies. Then Baldwin continues their story: a blue flower grew on Oliver's grave.

One year later, the red jester (Sarmenti) plays for the crowd in Hamlet. Baldwin remembers his description from Oliver's poem. He picks blue flowers from grave of his friend to give them to Sarmenti. That's how Baldwin ended this story: Oliver's flowers reach Sarmenti's hands, the hands of his idol.

in celebration of pride month, i know i’ve said which sexualities and genders the octogang is, but here’s some more in-depth explanations of their identities and how they found out! (i’m gonna have to do two parts cuz of tumblr’s fuckass image limit lol)

💰: orietta is an ace lesbian! changed from just a regular lesbian cuz i desperately needed more ace rep in the gang. she used to be married to a man for several years, but she divorced him after a) figuring out he’s a terrible person, and b) figuring out she doesn’t even really like men that much, nor is she that interested in people sexually, and he was uh. very into her sexually, to her chagrin. she felt such a weight be lifted off her when she left him. now he kinda has a vendetta against her, but he gets his just desserts in the end, don’t you worry.

📚: camil is a genderfluid femme lesbian! more specifically she’s genderfae, fluid between being feminine and genderless. her pronouns shift with her gender, too, preferring she/her when she’s feeling more feminine and they/them when she’s feeling more neutral. she’s always liked girls, and her father is supportive of her after admittedly needing some time to understand it. she’s a femme even when she’s feeling neutral because she prefers to present feminine at all times.

🌱: tybalt is a transmasc butch lesbian! despite being a lesbian, i still count him as one of the male travelers because his masculinity is very important to him. he has never felt in-tune with womanhood, so he’s never really considered himself one. the only thing tying him to any sort of womanhood is his gay love of women (if you find this contradictory in any way, go read stone butch blues). he isn’t really interested in bottom surgery, but he wants his tits GONE!!!!!!!!

🎭: oliver is a bi trans man! he has the best family in the world who has supported him the whole way through his transition; the only aspect they weren’t really able to support him in was monetarily, as magical transition in the world of octopath is extremely expensive. in the early days of his thespian career, that’s where most of his earnings went. he was able to save up the money and finally transition in his late teens, and now at 20 he’s happier than he’s ever been!
