Relationships

Platonic/Familial:

Lanes and Larry (nickname Lars or Lars Bar) got really close during middle school. They found comfort with each other bc they were in similar situations regarding their crushes. They'd sneak off after band practice to rant to each other about their band leaders and just wallow in self-pity. And that didn't really change as they got older. If anything, they got even closer, acting more like siblings than friends—they even got similar/mirroring piercings to match and wear coordinated outfits—, constantly ranting to or annoying each other at any opportunity. However, their audience doesn't really believe that it's just that (having given both of them the titles of casanovas for dating each other and their band leaders). And neither does Corey. Which, as you can probably guess, often leads being a point of contention between them.

Kim and Konnie: I've made them really close cousins. Why?. Because I can! jk jk but tbch I just wanted to add some variety in the lineup's dynamics. I'm also playing with the idea of one of them being half-white and the other being half-Filipino and having them be raised in different households to see how that would affect the different ways in which they'd interact. They are still close like sisters and each other's best friends, they were born on the same day and wear matching hair ties like friendship bracelets, but I want them to have things about them that make them different from being exact copies of their counterparts. However, this is definitely subject to change as I explore the concept more.

Corey and Carrie: acquaintances. Over the years their rivalry has seriously mellowed out and are more or less pleasant with each other. They will tease each other from time to time but that's kind of just what you do when you've known someone as long as they have.

Mina and Trina: Not quite sure where to put this one lol. Their relationship imploded senior year when Mina confessed to her and Trina responded in the worst way possible. Now Mina is doing school abroad and Trina had to repeat her last year. No one really knows what happened but rumor has it that Mina had said something so bad to Trina that it made her completely break. She doesn't hang out with anyone and she rarely, if ever, talks. She spends all her time alone in her room or at her job that nobody is even really sure she has.

Romantic:

Kon and Konnie: they are just happy and cute together. They started hanging out together more during sophomore year when Konnie's gym closed down and she had to go to a new one. They were definitely more awkward at first, they didn't really dislike each other but their friends did so they kind of just...didn't interact, but once they actually started talking they found they got along really well! They would often spot for the other and offer encouragement when working out. Inevitably they caught feelings and tried dating in secret. But that didn't last long (bc ofc it didn't lol) and they got caught. Both bands were more irritated than mad but eventually got over it.

Kin and Kim: a bickering old married couple. they are constantly 'breaking up' and then getting back together the next day. They are snarky and live for drama and gossip. They both think that the other is more in love with them and can control them bc of it. In reality, they are both equally whipped for each other but refuse to admit it. They constantly 'fight' to show that they aren't in love then somehow always fail miserably every time. They haven't made their relationship public and hopefully never will. They like having their fans think they're single and that if they found out it would ruin their images as the mysterious prince and princess of their respective groups. The bands' reactions to them range from exasperated eye rolls to mocking laughter.

Larry (yes, I'm sticking to calling him Larry) and Carrie: ??? Larry adores Carrie and she knows this. He makes it very clear and is willing to do almost anything for her. But how Carrie feels for Larry is unclear, at least that's what he says to Laney. She will treat him like a best friend and they'll hang out alone without problem, but she will have this weird distance about her that she doesn't close. That is until the cameras come on. During interviews and shoots, she will pull him close to her and say things that can be easily interpreted and romantic, but when asked to specify she will laugh and deflect the question. Then, once the cameras are off, she goes right back to being distant. He is unsure whether or not she actually likes him romantically or is just refusing to clarify for the sake of the band, but he'll lean into her touch whenever or wherever it's given. He seems to have come to terms with this being their dynamic and just...goes with it. There is one thing he knows for certain, he loves her and regardless of whether or not she cares for him romantically, he will stay by her side no matter what. Oddly enough, whenever the topic of Larry and Laney's relationship is brought up, Carrie refuses to talk about it. To be honest, she'll act like she has no idea what they're talking about and bluntly steer the conversation towards literally anything else.

Laney and Corey: Contradictory. Laney has essentially given up on forming a romantic bond with Corey. However, her actual feelings don't seem to have gotten the memo. She still cares for him so much it hurts. So much so that she's come to terms with the fact that she will never be able to be with anyone romantically because of it. Laney used to love the high of being in love, floaty and light, and now she feels more like a suffering addict, lost and panicked. She drowns in every touch and caress given to her but at the same time feels burned and scorned every time she realizes how simple and platonic they are. She can't blame him for not liking her back, but she's come to resent him for it. Just a little bit. She sometimes even wishes she had never met Corey. Constantly thinking about the life she could have had had she not been pulled into the living whirlpool that was Corey. She loves him, and he doesn't know it. But he holds her closer than anyone else. He is possessive of her and her attention. Whenever it's directed towards someone else, Larry especially, he pulls her back into him and refuses to let her go. This makes it even more unlikely for her to move on, in fact, it makes her angry. They argue about it often.

I have the beginnings of several scenes that explore these relationships and stuff but I'm not too sure I wanna share them just yet ^^; (my creative writing skill is a bit more than a little lacking lol)

(Note: Finally here with the main star of the series, and I have to say that nothing much should be changed for the core aspects of Corey. He's still the same crazy simple-minded, fun, and overly-complicated band leader that cares for his friends that he's always been. But leaving him like this wouldn't do much for this series, so instead I'll add layers to him that would lead him to grow as a person throughout the journey of this story. The thing about this version of Corey is that he only thinks about the present and worries about the future never, that's why he's always so positive when he was younger. But when everyone got older and their priorities changed, especially in their Senior Year of High School, he realized that everyone else but him are looking ahead; thus growing issues with change and acceptance. So he'll do anything to keep everything as it is, even if it meant lying to his loved ones, using up his College funds, and ignoring everyone's dreams that are unrelated with GrojBand.)

Role: Corey is the key member of GrojBand, taking the role as the leader, frontman, and lead guitar; juggling all this he's seen by everyone as the face of the band. Along side that, he also maintains the position as the tour manager throughout this competition, making sure that they arrive on time for each of their gigs and put enough funds so that the bus keeps on running.

Though Laney takes on the role as Business Manager and keeps track on how the band spends their money, Corey takes up the role instead and tells Laney that there's nothing to worry about since the competition provides whatever expenses  competing bands need in their tours. But the actual truth behind Corey taking up the Business Manager position this time is so that he could hide all the transactions he's making much easier. The truth is that all the money that that the band uses for performances, hotel bookings, maintenance, and other things are out of their own pockets. Before everyone set off, Corey actually stole his dad's bank information and took out everything that was in his own College Funds; he's willing to use and bet everything so that GrojBand wins and stays together.

Bio: Corey has always been hyperactive, even dating back when he was born, he did everything he wanted without filter. Whatever goal he had in mind or something drew his attention, his mindset is to throw caution into the wind and immediately act on his ambitions. As he grew up, things of interest comes and goes in his head, but there was one thing that stood out to him that would change the course of his life. There sitting down and watching tv, he saw a show starring a robotic band called  the "Bubble Bunch Band!", playing happy go lucky songs to children and getting into silly adventures. To most people they were just robots and skits for simple entertainment, but to a young Corey they were a glimpse into his future. In his eyes, he saw famous rockstars living everyday to the fullest and changing the lives of people with their music, each of them staying true to themselves and sticking by one another like family. From that point on, he did what he could to play music and when he discovered that he has a natural gift in singing and playing guitar, he vowed that he'll become a renown musician with the best band members in the world. 

Over the years as he grew and formed his band, they did everything that they could to be an instant success and have their names spread across the globe, but always failed in every attempt. But despite all the failures it never got Corey down once since he always got the chance to do what he wanted and had fun in the end with his best friends. But as time went on, the constant fail attempts as musicians became less amusing with each of their parents keep lecturing them to stop chasing a pointless dream and focus on careers that'll lead them to a successful future. Hearing that always gave each of the members a bad taste in their mouths, but this hurt Corey the most because he knew that their parents were right. Each member had talents, outside of music, that made them gifted and special (Kin with his inventive robotic skills, Kon's unstoppable Wrestling moves, and Laney's strategic techniques in military warfare); everyone has a variety of skills but Corey. He had dedicated his whole life being a musician that he had nothing else that he could do as his career, GrojBand is all he has. So once he was introduced to the Battle Royal Music Tour, he saw this as his last chance to get things right. With not much time left before everyone has to set off and attend college, Corey is risking everything to reach his end goal and keep GrojBand alive.

I got silly with my art today

Here's a work in progress for the next art piece I'll be posting and three sketches i did in my notebook!

The first sketch is of my brother's (@chipofsteel) grojband OC Lucas, he's Laney's adoptive older brother who used to be the bassist for a popular band before he got kicked out. He's a nu metal fan and big Limp Biskit enjoyer. Loved the design Chip gave him so I drew him in my style

Next is the sketch I did of Chloe! A background character from Grojband, that the creators have unofficially dubbed as Laney's older sister. Chip and I ran with it so now in our own AUs Laney has an older brother and an older sister, one is significantly nicer than the other I dare you to guess who. I accidentally gave her and Lucas the same shirt but I'm gonna write it off as him trying to copy her killer fashion cause he always looks like he got dressed in the dark.

Chip and I are very attached to the Penn sibling trio we created, they mean the world to us. I like to think the rest of Grojband is a little intimated by both Lucas and Chloe cause they both have a threating aura to them but in different ways. Lucas looks like he'll punch you in the face if you breathe in his direction despite being a chill guy. Chloe looks really sweet but you can tell she'll cut the breaks on your car if you cross her. It just runs in the Penn family. I'll draw all three of them together someday I swear!

Last is a doodle I did of myself, everytime i get emotionally overwhelmed at all and i can't physically express it I picture myself doing the same thing as my doodle so i drew it out for the sake of my sanity.

Anyway let me know if you guys wanna know anything else about my grojband au, I'd love to yap about it to someone who isn't chip for once!

Shows that were canned too early that deserved better (imo)

We all hate it when we get wayy too invested into a show with good characters, an interesting plot, and a solid setup right? Well it seems that the networks for these shows didn’t really see it that way sadly, some of these shows are known, others aren’t, but this is just gonna be me rambling about how we didn’t get more of these said shows 😭

The Owl House

Now this one I wont dig deep into too long? We did get a solid ending in the end, but we were definitely robbed of a full season 3

The fact that this was Disneys next big thing, (like Gravity Falls) and still got axed kinda baffles me a bit because executives love big ratings

I heard they cancelled it because of it ‘not fitting the disney brand’ (mostly because there were two main gay characters in it) which I thought was super unfair, because they really were that homophobic 💀

All in all, I enjoyed this show and wanted a full season 3

Close Enough

From Regular Show creator J.G Quintel, this show was definitely more for an older audience, and let me say they did amazing at it.

The shows humor didn’t revolve around cussing or sex jokes, (which is what I see all the time now in modern adult animation) and the show was definitely funny!

Unfortunately though, Max cancelled it after 3 seasons due to the merge of Discovery + and HBO Max, with Max canning alot of shows during that time, this being one of them

We kinda sorta got left on a cliffhanger of sorts?? At least imo. Liked the show and wish we had more

Wander Over Yonder

For a show made by Craig McCracken (Powerpuff Girls, Fosters Home) you’d think it would be popular and have a bunch of seasons right?

Well no, with this show only having two seasons after Disney cancelled it because ‘80 episodes were enough for this show’ which is kinda dumb?? I dunno I just don’t like executives and rules and stuff

I remember this show from my childhood, it was really good in my opinion, I feel like we could’ve had more if Disney didn’t cancel it as early as it did

Inside Job

The fact that this show left on a cliffhanger too made me even more upset that Netflix cancelled it as early as they did

Not only was this another adult animated show that didn’t rely on cussing or sex jokes, the story was actually really interesting too and if the show did continue, we would’ve had a happy ending

Screw Netflix actually I will never forgive them for this one

Grojband

I CANNOT stress enough about how this show deserved so much more than what it got, I actually would’ve put it at number one, but the next one is kinda justifiable so ._.

From Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton (Total Drama Island) this show featured a kid and his friends that were in a band, and used lead singers sisters diary as lyric ideas, bc they suck at writing them

And I loved it

I swear I don’t think I’ve ever been heavily interested in and emotionally attached to the characters in a show before, it was so good

The songs in this show were also heavenly, I suggest you give them a listen, theyre really good!

Also another reason I really liked the show was because it was a Canadian toon that didn’t revolve around gross out humor (I applaud them for that)

Unfortunately this was a show Cartoon Network screwed over BIG time, with when it came out during the summer it was airing, kids were mostly outside playing, never really gaining an audience, and then after the first half of the season aired, it was on a 2 YEAR hiatus. With fans questioning if the show would ever come back

Fortunately it did! Except Cartoon Network shoved it on their app, and a year later shoved it onto their sister channel, Boomerang. Then, after the show FINALLY ended their first season, the show was immediately cancelled, with Cartoon Network never really giving it a chance

The whole way Cartoon Network handled this show frustrated me immensely, with it having a decent fanbase, and people wanted more (me being one of them:()

The creators even had alot of plans for next said season, but I guess we will never get to see them (unless a Clone High situation happens but that’s doubtful)

Show was very underrated and deserved SO much more, Cartoon Network fumbled this one and the last show Im about to mention

Sym Bionic Titan

This sci fi animated series by Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Dexters Lab) only lasted one season with 20 episodes

With Cartoon Network cancelling it because of the failure to produce a TOY LINE

The fact this show got axed because of toys just makes me so upset

This was one of those shows that also left on a cliffhanger sadly, so we never really got to see how this show properly ended

With Genndy even saying that he wrote 10 more episodes, but now we will never get to see them

ALSO THE SHOWS SOUNDTRACK WAS SO GOOD?! Love when shows put banger songs in the bg, reminded me so much of Clone High

Anyways thats pretty much it? These are just my opinion tho, everyone is entirely different

Okay. So. The Candy Jams episode, Girl Fest. I have so many thoughts on it, good and bad. This is gonna be another long thoughts post, so let's get into it. (Under the read more because this is Really Long)

On principle there isn't a bad message here, in fact, to this day it still has relevancy. Plenty of female singers playing faux feminist when they are more than willing to put other women that work alongside them down in order to raise themselves up, rather than trying to cultivate a good community, especially in regards to younger fans. This is definitely not new, same in regards to male singers that promote toxic masculinity to their own audiences.

My issues stem from, of course, the usual "errrrm, isn't it funny how we act uncertain if Laney is a GIRLLLLL, lawl!" ass humor. Like god that shit is garbage I'm glad we mostly phased that type of shit out. Yuck.

Not just that, of course, that's more of a Grojband, "this is from the real early 2010's" issue in general. I also take issue with the approach it takes touching upon the whole "this idol can't actually be trusted" thing. I understand it's watered down to be a little easier to understand, babies first feminism and all, as well as it being a little more niche in the addition that it's someone proclaiming to be all punk rock while in reality being a poser. That isn't a problem in theory, but in practice, I definitely think it came out clunky...

Which message wise, is a little rough. However, it actually comes off as a much more interesting character read of one of the most important characters, Laney, and even TRINA to an extent.

To understand what I mean, we gotta go down the list of things we find out about Candy Jams first. Keep in mind she is promoted to be this 16 year old (assuming she's the same age as the other older teenagers in the show bc it'd be weird if not since she dated nick) punk chick who doesn't take crap from anyone, acting condescending towards the male members of Grojband, and even going as far as to tell Trina she needs to be in charge of her own feelings— "You should be the voice of your own soul, girl!"

Candy Jams appears calm and collected about Nick. She even says she broke things off with him for making her too soft. This is shown not to be the case almost immediately, as while they're not dating, she clearly still has an infatuation for him.

Secondly, it's revealed she's very enthusiastic about clothes. I know, what a revelation, but keep in mind being fashion crazy is often a stereotype used negatively against women as a means of calling them shallow.

Her lyrics are written by her manager, who is an adult male (the adult part really isn't important unfortunately, because I feel like it should've been).

Finally, she says that lyrics with harder words in them make her head hurt (she calls it brain ouchie btw), which is... I guess it's calling her stupid? Not as smart and a thinker that she says she is? I mean, common thing to say to indicate a character is dense, but it just feels weird to tack on. I guess it enhances the fact she doesn't write her own lyrics since she says the last song he wrote had too many hard words for her to sing.

Alright, so, we went down the list... now, there is like... so much to unpack. First off, I don't dislike the ideas here, I definitely don't, because all these things show hypocrisy in Candy Jams branding (except maybe 4 that might just be like, her being a teenager still learning things lmao). It's a pretty classic "don't meet your heroes" situation for Laney, who looked up to her, now feeling shattered because she did not live up to expectation. However, what kills it for me is the already present misogyny shown in Grojband consistently.

Laney is misgendered for comedy constantly because she doesn't present herself as traditionally feminine, nor acts traditionally feminine. Like. It kind of bitters the damn message if you go "respect women in rock, unless it's funny, then don't" in the episode about... recognizing female talent in the rock scene and criticizing the posers sending bad faith messages to their younger audience.

However, despite all this, this episode is REALLY good to dig into Laney's character, and additionally, Trina's, as they both are fans of Candy Jams.

Laney herself is shown to be infatuated with Corey, not to the extent Trina is with Nick, but regardless of that she holds a massive spark for him. We can often see it in her face how she feels about Corey, finding herself at a loss of words when he gets as much as near her at times. She's also into extremely hyper-feminine things, decorating her room with frills and being into things that she would otherwise roll her eyes at— in secret.

So, in other words... she's a poser. She does the exact same things that Candy Jams does, if not being worse for doing it, as she calls Candy Jams out for her behaviors while doing the exact same thing to an even YOUNGER audience. Let's not forget that Grojband's two groupies are young, elementary school aged girls. Laney is just as much an influence to them as Candy Jams is.

Now, am I saying exactly that she's a poser? Not really, no, but you get what I'm saying in pointing out the fact she has far more in common with Candy Jams than she would be comfortable with. It's most certainly due to internalized misogyny at that, especially in a scene that doesn't recognize or respect female voices to begin with unless they denounce anything feminine, either about themselves or other women— Corey himself had to be shown that "lady rock" is in fact, legit.

Keep in mind this is during the early 2010's, so it isn't the same situation now as then exactly, and I'm definitely not saying critique towards traditionally feminine culture isn't valid. It ABSOLUTELY is, but this isn't about criticizing it, Candy Jams AND Laney both outright hide the parts of themselves that enjoy it. Candy Jams because she's an industry plant, and Laney because of her shame in indulging in it at all. Maybe Laney saw herself in Candy Jams a little too much, and was deeply ashamed of what she saw, due to previously having projected herself onto Candy Jams's exterior persona.

Now, where does Trina come into play? Well, similar to Laney, she hides parts of herself that are more vulnerable to others, parts she is ashamed of. She's an intellectual, both with math, literature, and writing. Her being adept with writing is, admittedly, if you count her diary being so well written it can be used as lyrics for songs that in universe, are GREATLY well received. Unfortunately, due to nerd culture being shown as undesirable, ESPECIALLY for/towards women, she only indulges in academic pursuits covertly as an entirely different persona. Additionally, she changed her name just to fit her new mean girl, cute and popular chick lifestyle, and with it her kindness.

Like Laney, she too saw herself in Candy Jams, specifically in her songs. She found herself spoken to in regards to her love for Nick Mallory in one of her songs (and Laney likely did as well), and was equally upset when Candy Jams revealed it WAS about Nick. It made her feel like she didn't own her own feelings, which is something that is far more devastating for Trina than you'd think on a base level alone. She HAS to be in control of her own feelings, she has literally hand carved herself into the person she is today by regulating exactly what she feels, how she conducts herself, and who she hangs out with.

Makes you wonder how she'd feel if she knew that Corey was using her feelings to make his songs.

All in all, though, this episode is pretty surface level and not even the worst I've seen, it's definitely one of the more interesting Grojband episodes. For a feminist message? It somewhat does it's job, especially for 2013. I, for one, think it does an even better job at looking into the thoughts and feelings of the two most important female characters of the show.

Hi!

I sat on this for a while, wondering if I should make this or not. And while the couple looks cute, I don't think I could bring myself to support it. Corey is 13 years of age. Confirmed by the creators.

However, Hekapoo is a massive question mark. She apparently doesn't physically age, so while she looks like a teen at the least, it's confirmed she's well over 16 (apparently she played a game with clones of herself for 16 years, but she looked that same as now so there's every possibility she's way older). A lot of people speculated she's in her hundreds, and some even believe in her thousands. So yeah, WAY too old to be dating a 13 year old boy. In my opinion, anyway.

Like I say, her age is a question mark, so if you do want to support this ship, please go for it. I just can't with the information I gathered and the possibility of the massive age gap.

Anyway, remember the grojband headcanon post I made a week ago and how I mentioned that Laney has 2 siblings: one older brother, Lucas, and an older sister, Chloe. OKAY SO, this is her older brother Lucas he is adopted. Some lady left him on the doorstep of a church, knocked on the door, and left. Mr and Mrs. Penn were watching all of this unfold from across the street and after the lady left they walked over and picked up Lucas and said "She knows that this church has been abandoned for like 10 years right?" and decided to adopt him. and that's tragic backstory.

This man suffers from resting bitch face and he used to be a bitch when he was younger (he was a really shitty brother) but now he's mellowed out and is a lot kinder (or at least he tries to be). he likes nu metal, his bass, and tony hawk's pro skater 1 and 2 (mostly because chad muska is in the games). He and Laney have a 10-year age difference and they didn't get along growing up because of that. He would scare her with zombie masks every Halloween, pick her up and aggressively spin her around like a pro wrestler, lock her in a closet when it was his turn to babysit her so he could play Tony Hawk's pro skater 1 (he left snacks and a Nintendo DS in there for her), and pretend to eat her pet fish as a funny little prank. Laney talks about him in therapy.

(Note: With little info at hand, there was a lot of room to add about Lenny and his character in this version. But looking back in the show, there were signs where he was different from the other Newmans by not having the same skill set as their counterparts; specifically having physical traits/capabilities being complete opposite from that of Laney, and the long running joke of being called a girl by his peers. So first off it would be interesting by making him a foreign exchanged student from London (since his name is Lenny) that has several medical/health issues that restrains him from being more physically active/capable, thus creates his insecurities of his masculinity. This is further impeded by him growing up as the youngest in a household with only girls in his life. Though they didn't really help with his problem, he did pick up many skills thanks to his mother and five older sisters with flourishing careers; such as a dance instructor, hair dresser, salon manager, beauty technician, and a fashion designer. It would also be fun that he would have this one-sided rivalry with Corey and tries to intimidate him simply out of jealousy, but Corey wouldn't take it to heart because he assumed that it was his own unique way of talking to someone.)

Role: Lenny is one of the key members of the Newmans, taking the role as the bass player and backup vocalist of the band. Along side that, he also has the responsibilities of maintaining the appearance of the Newmans by deciding what type of wardrobe and makeup is best for certain occasions. He also develops and instructs the choreography for their performances, this being his most passionate role given how it is the only physical activity that he flourishes on.

Outside the band, Lenny is a popular Vlogger that likes to share all his moments to the World; letting people know who he hangs out with, where he's at, who he dislikes, etc. This also makes him an addition pillar of support for the band by having so many of his viewers get to know each of the members behind the scenes and grow to like them. With this furthering the band's image, maintaining a lead in popularity against Grojband.

Bio: Lenny lived in London with his mother and five older sisters. Being born with health conditions, such as Asthma, Hyperthyroidism, and minor Muscular Dystrophy, caused him to be retaliate on medication and being overprotected by his family. With no father around he grew up mainly being influenced by his family, namely his sisters playing with him in activities that they're interested in, like playing dress up or putting on makeup. He didn't have much friends when he was little because the boys would think that he was a weak girl to play with, and the girls would think that he was weird for being more prettier than them. Though despite all these years under his family's care and insecurities about his body, Lenny still strived to be his own man and have everyone recognize that. That way he could finally feel confident about himself and have everyone he meets to stop calling him a girl to his face.

Some years later down the line, Lenny decided that he wanted to move out and go to America to attend the rest of his school years there, as part of his journey of being a real independent man. Of course his sisters were against this idea, but the one to back him up and understood his plights was his mother. After some arrangements with relatives over in the US and saying his goodbyes, Lenny was finally able to set off and be who really wanted to be, but upon his arrival things didn't exactly go as planned. Weeks went on and due to his social anxieties, fragile physic, clumsy nature, and feminine appearance, he became a target of bullying by everyone. 

This went on for awhile until a rough looking girl called Carrie Beff stood up and shut everyone up with a single single sentence. When he saw her for the first time, be came enamored by not only for her looks but also her strong presence that commanded respect and attention. Since then he did everything that he could to see her and get closer, but never had the courage to say how he really felt. So when he heard that she was forming a band and was looking for a bass player, he saw this as his opportunity. He exhausted so much of his time, energy, and finances to become the perfect bass player for the girl of his dreams. 

When the day finally came to showcase his skills and was accepted, he felt such immense joy that he never felt before. But that feeling wouldn't last too long when he realized that so much of Carrie's attention was always directed towards a rival band Grojand, specifically their leader Corey Riffin. Since then on he swore that he'll find a way to beat GrojBand and prove that he could be so much more than Corey will ever be.
