We're about at the end of our Beowulfian journey - I have a couple more things I'd like to post, and there's always another translation to geat and read. This is the Klaeber 3rd Edition, considered the authoritative edition to get of the original. The supplementary commentary and notes are extensive. "There was song and swag". Three bits here. OG Beowulf in Michael Alexander's edition for @penguinclassics , followed by Alexander's own translation of the The Fight at Finnsburgh, the story referenced within Beowulf. Jump back (or between), and we have Longfellow's rendering of an Anglo-Saxon poem and then he translates Beowulf's descent into the mere.
