do you do any drawing exercises? or mb you have some favourite warmup before drawing more complicated stuff? any advice? thx

I think this can be helpful for warm-ups. Essentially what you wanna do is exercise the most simple things, like your ability to draw straight lines or how homogeneous you can make circles inside (or outside) other circles, like a bullseye. You can also draw stuff without raising your pen, or not looking at the paper until it's done. Try to do any of these things using the movement of your whole arm, not just the wrist.

What do you consider "more complicated stuff"? This probably differs from your view to mine, but either way I think the go-to would be simplifying shapes? For instance, something like a standard car could be broken down into different rectangle-like shapes, or varying cylinders for a bottle or body limbs like arms and legs.

For this I'd suggest looking through drawabox if you haven't already.

Usually people find these sort of exercises to be incredibly boring (me included), but they definitely do help in the long run. If you find yourself rushing and/or abandoning your practice-only sheets (because I absolutely do - I've been going on and off with one of those extense improvement prompt lists for years), then try to implement them to your regular drawings. So instead of doing several little squares filled with varying amounts of dots, find something simple like a cardboard box (you can do something more complicated! it's just an example) and "draw" it only with dots. That way you can practice perspective with the box & texture-making / shading with the dots).
