The massive, raging hard-on the UK currently has for the age 25, not to mention that it's based on a misrepresentation of a study on brain development, is soooo sinister. First the cass report, now petitions to impose extra rules on driving in under-25s. Twenty-five. Like, even if it was based in good faith on safety, why not propose it within the bounds of how recently since getting a provisional license, etc.? Why does age have anything to do with it, if it's to do with experience and training? It's transparently based on an image of young people being irresponsible and underdeveloped, a viewpoint propagated by groups who see young people as a political threat. I would not be surprised if the ultimate fantasy is to increase the voting age to 25.

sorry to barge in but the age discussions in kpop spaces actually drive me up the wall too!!!!! i'm ancient in kpop terms (24....) and the AMOUNT of young kids i see on tik tok (the most egregious offender) who go "omg jin doesn't age" "omg i can't believe that's a 30 year old man" "wow how is he 30!" etc etc

first of all one does not lose all silliness at 30. you do not become a stoic elderly man the second the clock turns to midnight. second of all they don't grasp that between 22-39 you kinda just stay the same. THIRD OF ALL they act like 30 is geriatric and not the very start of your life 😭😭 it actually makes me insane lmao can we talk about something ELSE

LITERALLY, isn’t it actually funny that they basically see the reality (that is you don’t look like a grandparent at 30) and still think you enter your last decade when you’re out of your twenties 😭 like I know that when you’re still a teen, being in your mid-twenties and older feels ancient (that’s just very normal for everyone I think, I thought so too), but they literally see on their own freaking faves that it’s not something you instantly see! so why do they keep pointing it out?? 😭 make it make sense

Life update - found out I got a job in NV, did the math and realized it would be cheaper to donate my furniture and extra stuff and move by plane, my dad flew out and helped, in 3 days packed and donated and cleaned and moved from FL to NV with 8 checked bags + 2 carry ons + 2 backpacks and about 15 packages (mostly books going media mail rate) in the post. Now I’m living with my parents again.

I am so exhausted and sore from moving furniture and cleaning frantically and moving almost 50 lb luggage.

While i was waiting for my dad to return the rental truck people kept staring and smiling it was amusing kids could not look away from me and my mountain of bags
