Step Two: Eleanora and Cove! With Derek and Leandra cameos!

I feel like this game is slowly healing my inner child. Who needs therapy? Just play Our Life: Beginnings and Always. It's free! Except for the DLC. But even that's worth it.

Also, I discovered you can name Cove's fish "Jeremy" and you get special dialogue for it, and it's delightful. Give me all of the build up to Jeremy becoming the reluctant bestie who pretends he hates you but will show up to your wedding like ten or so years later because you invited him and he is in fact your friend now. Please. It's so good. I'm so invested in this funky lil' friendship.

Also, Eleanora calls Noelani and Pamela "'Lani" and "Pam" when she's eight, still not comfortable with calling them her mothers, until Step Two where they are officially "Ma" and "Mom".

Eleanora puts on a very tough front in school since she still isn't used to showing her emotions, despite having been learning to open up and voice more opinions since befriending Cove, and is very insecure. She finds it difficult not to let bullies' comments get to her. That said, she doesn't let it show except for around Leandra, who she trusts greatly, and the only way to get a visible rise out of her is to insult Cove- which... often leads to her trying to "scare" the bully off.

She has a hard time opening up about her more negative feelings until Cove confirms once more she's his best friend and that he could care less about how "loud" she is, as he enjoys their time together and would spend more time together if he could. She cries, lol.

I guess this would take place during "Summerwork" sometime during her panic attack? Probably directly after Cove tries to give her his homework assignment since she lost hers, and she refuses before asking why and just breaking down further. Which... leads to that conversation, and Cove reiterating that Eleanora is very important to him.

OLBA Week Day 3- Poppy

me realizing that the hanahaki disease trope fanfic is very much available for this franchise..*my honest fking reaction*

Context: I was scrolling through Ao3 looking for Cove x reader fanfics that I'll like(as any normal person) then I came across one that was titled "I'm Dying", I looked at the tags and it had Angst and Unrequited Love.

And as the p*ssy that i am, I didn't read it(or the other tags) bc I don't wanna go through another heartache, then thought "Oh god, what's gonna happen if Our Life had a hanahaki trope.. everybody be dying left and right(mostly Derek, like I'm sorry but you can't deny that I'm right)...

Then I stumbled on a tumblr post that said "what if Cove didn't reciprocate your feelings?" And everything just spiraled from there.. if we left Cove hanging and we get a sad The End where the Lasts(mostly Liz and Lee) yell at Cove over and over about losing us and Cove ridden with guilt and Derek with the thoughts "Why not me? I could've treated you so much better than he did!" And sht like that..

Okay.. I'm now depressed.. I'm just gonna play OL2 today..

Some relationship and child headcanons for OLBA side characters.

Terry and Miranda do not end up getting kids. However, they do give tons of gifts to Cove's kid every Christmas.

I am almost certain that Liz is somewhere on the aroace spectrum. She never gets a boyfriend or married, but Shiloh becomes her platonic life partner.

If Lee's singing career takes off she gets together with an actor while working on a song for a film. They have a wonderful relationship and have two kids.

After Liz and the MC leave home Pamela and Noelani seriously consider adopting a third kid because they miss having one in the house. They ultimately decide against it, but when the MC has a kid they become the ultimate grandmas.

Jude and Scott adopt a kid one day. You better believe they raise that kid to be a gamer.

Nicolas ends up being part of a polycule. It just feels right.

Jeremy eventually gets together with JB. If I knew more about XOXO I'd be able to elaborate.
