Otome Games in Languages Other Than Japanese / English

Being a fan of otome games and a passionate language-learner, I am here to present a small list of games that are available in other languages than English or Japanese, as those are rather easy to find. :D

Games like Hakuouki actually helped me improve my English a lot when I was younger, so I highly encourage you to practice your reading-skills as well!

Some games are more well-known than others, so I hope you'll find something new no matter how long you've been reading otome games!

Extra:

First Love is an app available in English, French, German, Russian, Portuguese, Korean and Indonesian but as the German and English versions have a few errors, I assume that is also the case for the other language options. However, I read some really good reviews and I like the art style, so I still want to put this game on the list. Having played the beginning of Asahi's and Chitose's route, the errors in the German version seem to be minor, with misplaced commas, for instance. Keeping that in mind, I think the game can be useful to at least acquire new vocabulary. It is about students who meet in their 2nd year of high school and fall in love. There are otome, yaoi and yuri options.

Wait a minute... Undyne doesn’t believe Kris when they try to tell her about the Dark World and laughs in their face so hard that she breaks her desk. So they do something to lure the police over to their house by slashing the tires, then make a Dark World themself after learning from Queen that it might be possible for any Lightner to do so. And they did it before the police get there so that they’ll stumble into it.

I always found the gap of time between Toriel calling the police and her falling asleep before they get there odd as it’s a little town so it shouldn’t take that long, and it doesn’t seem as if they came before she fell asleep. Could be busy trying to recatch all those dogs. Maybe Kris is aware that Toriel falls asleep quickly while reading, they even opened the door so that the police could come in. One hole in this idea is, how would they know that Susie would pass out fast too? Might not have been part of the plan but an opportunity they took.

Not sure why they turned on the TV to static, possibly to give the new Dark World something to latch onto as regular living room furniture might not be enough. (Now that I’m thinking about it, all the items that have turned into characters so far are things that children and people touch and interact with using their imagination, like toys, computers, and TVs.)

Is this all to show Undyne and others that something dangerous is happening so they’ll be believed? I’m like, 90% sure that Kris is not The Knight and their intentions aren’t bad.

》Whenever you are in the royal chamber to tell a story to Amine (his little brother) he would occasionally take a glance at you in secret as he pretends to be engrossed in the book he is holding. He just can’t help looking at you.

》Whenever he is alone with you in the reading room-- both of you quiet as you read the books you two have borrowed-- he can’t help but smile, feel giddy and bit delighted about the fact that you are with him, that both of you share the same interests. And as he thinks of it, he would grin all by himself behind his book.

》You think that you are just like a good friend to him. But to him, you are his special friend, his ally and his confidant. He treasures you a lot more than you think.

》Despite his somewhat collected and calm demeanor, deep inside whenever he is alone with you, he can’t focus at all. His thoughts all filled about you.

》He can’t help but admire everything about you. To him, you are such an amazing person. And the fact that you like to read as much as he does, make his heart flutter even more.

As he sifts through these pretty clothes hanging on the racks, his mind would often wander about you as he imagines you wearing these sheer, lacy and elegant outfits. Sometimes too, when he gets lost too much in these thoughts of you, he would have this strange feelings and curious urge of wanting you to dress up for him.

》He can’t help but notice how naturally beautiful you are, how pretty your figure is and it is such a shame for him that you have no clue or have any idea about it.

》You are the apple of his eye. Always.

》He can’t help but be very, very overprotective of you. He doesn’t want you to push yourself too much working on the tavern and in some other things.

And because of that, Assad or Hardy would ask him most of the time to escort you back home safely. He has always liked the idea of having this reason or excuse just to be with you.

》He would sometimes tease you in a bit of a flirty manner just to see your face blush for him. And he would laugh or giggle at you because he enjoys seeing your confused and bashful state. Because of that, sometimes it puzzles you and makes you wonder what he really thinks about you.

》He knows to himself that he is attracted to you but he wouldn’t let you know it.

》He sometimes can’t help but feel a bit irritated when you talk about other men. Like when you told him that you like the tea Alibaba has recommended to you and such things. He gets moody when he hears things like that. He knows deep inside that he is being a jerk and unreasonable, but he just can’t help to feel this way.
