Now that's some good stuff.
I'm not a huge fan of Go Nagai or anything. His art's not my favorite (too rubber stamp-y for my tastes), and his manga, well... I'd like it better if it was more serious. I mean, I know they're comedies, but, I think a more grounded story ends up being more interesting, there are more stakes.
Though that's a problem I have with a lot of stuff nowadays. After all, if anything is possible, nothing is interesting, right?
Take this manga, for instance, Sukeban Boy. It sounds interesting, a boy having to dress up like a girl in a new school. But, when you read it, the comedy's way too broad, there's monsters and ninjas jumping around, so much that the plot concept itself is lost. In a way it's a bit like a Waco O'Guin/Roger Black cartoon.
Of course comedy never survives crossing the language barried unscathed.
But at the same time, for all of Go Nagai's faults, he did make manga. Like, say, Violence Jack. It's not my favorite either, but it was the inspiration for a lot of great stuff, such as Fist of the North Star and Riki Oh. Nagai's concept was influential enough that a lot of good stuff came out of it.
So, I guess what I'm saying is, even if you don't like something, it can make the world a more interesting place, later down the line. I guess.
But the coloring looks great!

There are many references to Go Nagai's library of manga in these shots from Re: Cutie Honey including the likes of Kekko Kamen, Iron Virgin Jun, Oira Sukeban, and Devilman.

New Cutey Honey Cameos: Episode 1
One of the things I really love about New Cutey Honey is that so many background characters were originally from other Go Nagai series. I’ve done my best to list every single cameo appearance featured in New Cutey Honey.
Here is episode 1:

The bank teller at the beginning of the episode is Ayu from Harenchi Gakuen.
Fun fact: She’s voiced by Maro Yumeno, one of the “Honeys”, a group of idols who dressed up to promote the series.

Honey’s homeroom teacher from the original series, Ms. Alphonne, appears holding a gun during the opening scene. She’s hard to spot since her coloring is way off.

The titular character from Go Nagai’s manga, Omorai-kun, appears after Chokkei’s parents crash their car.

Not Go Nagai related but you can see Minky Momo in the crowd listening to Mayor Light’s speech. Osamu Horiuichi did the character designs for New Cutey Honey and Minky Momo in The Bridge for Your Tomorrow.

Finally, we have Chokkei’s classmates:
Miki Makimura (Devilman)
Mayumi Takahashi (Kekko Kamen)
Yasohachi Yamagishi and Ikidomari (Harenchi Gakuen)
Nantomo and Sayoko (Iyahaya Nantomo)
Otoko and Banji (Oira Sukeban)
Look out for episode two!

The name of the manga is おいら女蛮 or Oira Sukeban and I have the raws for it and the mc looks like the lovechild of Koji Kabuto and Honey Kisaragi. It’s very wrong on many levels and the Getter team shows up for one panel.
