i'll be real, i always hated it whenever media tries to "critique" Christianity while portraying all Christians as bigoted, misogynistic and irredeemable. its why it matters a lot to me that my own angels have some nuances to them.
Sera is very puritanical and obsessed with showing her devotion to God, but she's still a caring and well-meaning angel.

I miss the era when the mainstream just called us feminazis the fact that capitalism and the patriarchy actually successfully co-opted feminism hurts so much more

and it just. pissed me off beyond belief so i decided to sit and refute every single one of her statements because she's just. wrong. so here we go!
I find this utterly disrespectful and just plain out wrong so I'm going to talk a bit about Islam because by your very directed comments it's clear that it's a religion you see as deeply problematic. Purity culture by definition is a Christian movement. "Religion" does not promote that, facets of Christianity do. Sexual abstinence is not something Islam asks people to strive towards, it simply keeps sexual intimacy within marriage. Virginity has no real hold in Islam beyond not having sex until you are married and this applies to both women and men. There is absolutely no concept of staying completely away from sex in the same way Priests or Nuns do. Women's modesty and sexuality are not patrolled in isolation, in the same way women have what we call an awrah (portion of you body that needs to be covered) men ALSO have an awrah. Just as hijab is mandatory for women, not shaving your beard is mandatory for men. These are indicators of our religion and things we believe bring us closer to God. Do not presume to understand why women wear the hijab. No where in Islam are you condemmed to hell for simply existing. In Islam you are condemmed for ACTIONS in the afterlife, granted you never seek forgiveness for them and even then God may forgive you because He is Most Forgiving. It is unfathomable that you are punished for something out of your control. Not being able to hold the Quran when menstruating has absolutely nothing to do with being "impure" it is simply a state of Wudhu. In Islam we can not pray or hold the Quran unless we are in a state of Wudhu in which we purify ourself with water. There are factors which break wudhu one of which is bleeding. If a man cut himself and was bleeding continuously, he would ALSO not be allowed to touch it. As we are continuously bleeding, we physically can not be in a state of Wudhu. All our Prophets are men because it is historically factual that sometimes no matter HOW hard we fight and HOW logical we sound, some men simply will not listen to a women simply because we are women. There would be people who refused logic just because a women was talking to them, ESPECIALLY during the time in which prophethood occured. In Islam we don't really have religious leaders, we have islamic scholars- called Aalims and Aalimas. There are both men and women scholars. The Prophet (S. A. W)' wife Aaisha (R.A.) famously relayed the MOST hadith (words and behaviours of thr Prophet (S.A.W)) out of all the Sahaba (people who knew the Prophet (S.A.W)). Do not presume you are able to talk for all women when it comes to the fight of feminism. It is in no way true that the only reason we have progressed as women is because we "strayed from religion" when my religion has only made me believe in feminism more. My greatest role model is a woman who fiercely protected my Prophet (S.A.W) in battle. I didn't come in here for a fight, but do not make broad statements about "religion" when you are blatantly wrong. If your problem is with people and the way they perpetuate misogyny and cover it up with the flimsy shroud of "this is what my religion says" and you take that at face value, then thats not my problem or anyone elses. People are flawed. My religion is not.

As a white guy who absolutely was on the alt-right pipeline; Women have no responsibility for the existence of that.
The pipeline starts at being raised with media created by MEN who depict women as lesser, as prizes to be won for being "the manliest". It is the hard baked "men don't feel feelings like women" encoded into everything we consume, the normalization of bullying other boys for crying. The pipeline is reinforced by other boys trying to live up to the horrible role models propped up before us and competing to be the biggest and toughest by metrics that devalue creativity, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
The pipeline seems inescapable because you don't really know you're in it until you aren't, and even then it requires the self awareness to look around you and see what's going on. And that is on the individual.
I don't know how to dismantle it. To be honest, I am not entirely sure how I escaped. But I know who built it and maintains it, and I know that one of the mechanisms by which it is reinforced is the blaming of women. If feminists are blamed for the pipeline then that eases the way by ramping over one of the largest impediments to its continuation.

It is because these people are stupid. Hope this helps.
#like. I don't know what to tell you. most people who commit murder are not Super Genius Criminal Masterminds#if your priority is killing someone and not anything else you don't make a flashy spectacle of it???? most people who do shit like this#want attention. it's not about some moral obligation they want attention. and when people prioritize Getting Attention. they do some#pretty contradictory and myopic things. have you ever observed a human. jfc y'all are not serious people#current events#tw: guns#okay sorry I'M SORRY. I'll stop talking about this. I just feel like I'm going insane#worshiping this guy is NOT it#y'all are going to drive me to substance abuse is2g#In the Vents#also.#if you are a feminist. then you should be against this. hold on let me explain before you go 'how are those even related you're deranged'#violent men are typically the ones more likely to hate women and abuse their partners because of it. and spousal homicide is going to#be a LOT harder to do if no one has access to guns. if you say 'oh there's an acceptable situation where you can point blank shoot someone#because they're a loathsome enough person' then. these people are going to take away the message that if their girlfriend/wife/female#relative/partner/etc. is 'bad' enough. is making their lives difficult enough. then it is acceptable to murder them. if you say 'there is#an acceptable circumstance for this' then EVERYONE WILL THINK THAT *THEY* HAVE THE ACCEPTABLE CIRCUMSTANCE#holding up guns as the solution to your problems IS ONLY GOING TO END WITH MORE WOMEN MORE KIDS AND MORE MINORITIES DEAD#and if you think that's an acceptable sacrifice because someone you hate might die. then I think maybe you shouldn't be talking to me.#like I said. I'm not going to be patient anymore. this is non-negotiable for me. if you're valorizing this guy and the culture of#gun violence that made his actions possible then get out I don't want to talk to you.#oh also once again: if your takeaway from this is that I'm somehow defending the CEO and you come on my post to say that I'm putting#you on blast so everyone can point and laugh at you for your lack of reading comprehension. again hope this helps :)

"What if we call it Akina?"
My parents bought a robotic vacuum cleaner. They're getting on in age, so it's a good addition to the household. It and I met last week, so I asked what its name was. Turned out they'd just named it after our family name. Boring. "It needs a name," I said.
Today my dad says unprompted, "I think we need to give it a different name. Our last name is a bit stupid." My mum says it's fine, but I agree. I'm drawing a blank, though, until my dad suggests the perfect name.
"What if we call it Akina?"
I like to think he's been pondering on this for two weeks.
In the early 2000s, my parents bought a GPS system for the car. I dubbed her 'Akina'. She was named for an AI system in a space ship in the Yoko Tsuno comic album series that I'm still obsessed with twenty years later.
It stuck. When my parents were going anywhere new, we'd say, "Don't forget Akina." "Akina will guide you." "Where is Akina?" I was sad when new cars with built-in GPS systems replaced the old ones. I always kind of felt like she was my baby.
I've missed Akina. I'm glad she's back.

why is it suddenly if anybody of a group has an opinion on anything that even closely could possibly relate to the """opposition"""s opinion they are a "pick me". like a homosexual not wanting to see kink at pride isnt a straight bootlicking pick me. a transmed isnt a cis conforming pick me. like regardless of how you feel about these peoples' opinions they are not "pick mes" it's giving "all my haters are just jealous of me!!!!"

listen this might be something that seems obvious to me because I actually like the art of film and storytelling and art in general, but maybe… don’t make movies based off of old movies you very obviously hate. Why should I watch your remake if all you do is shittalk the source material you based it off of? How is that supposed to convince me your “new and improved” version is going to be better if you keep telling me the bar is literally rock bottom?
