Yeah, I think they would be! Feferi is one of the trolls who takes dying the least badly (relentless optimism) and Eridan does genuinely feel bad, which means a lot when it's Eridan. I think she really is genuine when she says she wants them to be friends and also that she's really not the type of person to hold a grudge, and like... death is SUPER cheap in Homestuck, it's really not the horrific, irredeemable, irreperable damage that it is IRL - and if you're talking about (Feferi) and (Eridan), then they're both dead (and irrelevent) now, so the score is kind of even.

In general, the fandom - I mean, people in general, really - tend to have difficulty divorcing themselves from other people. We tend to assume that the people and characters they like will hold similar opinions to themselves. This is how people who like Karkat and don't like Eridan can mentally gloss over or even block out their clear, close friendship, or how people who dislike Cronus can end up overlooking that Meenah actually takes his opinion seriously and unironically defends his wizard thing. Feferi really isn't mad at Eridan or upset about dying the way we probably would be, because she's friends with the horrorterrors, relentlessly cheerful, comfortable with death in general, and death is also just not really that big of a deal in this setting. "I'm really sorry about that, that was shitty of me" is honestly probably all the apology she needs, especially if they came back to life anyway.

this whole thing was made bc im so fucking insane about the cage chapter. the themes about being a slave to fate and how our actions are not our own and losing control of yourself and your life. just. ugh. it speaks to me a lot. and ofc skeptic being an old timey detective is so universal. i joke about hating him but i Do like him and find him interesting. i want to put him in situations.

and thats what this whole au is. putting skeptic in situations. hearing new perspectives, having his theories proven wrong, dealing with uncooperative suspects, red herrings. i love when hes wrong or ignored or otherwise slighted. he seems very. sure of himself? not an arrogant fool, but more. a guy who hasnt been wrong before. ykno. and i think ur typical film noir (with slay the princess elements like cycles and fate) is just a really natural fit to explore all that.

but its Also about playing with the whole "perception based creature" thing that the princess has going on. i Love "character nobody really knows" and the princess, with her multiple forms and fluid personality, works Rlly rlly well with this concept. i love the princess and i think she deserves to be a mysterious "haunting the narrative" type character. shes like a spy with multiple disguises. or someone in witness protection.

hero is the bartender (as stated before) of "the long quiet" bc i think its funny theyre still in tlq even in this silly film noir au.

cheated is The regular there. he either sits at a table and mopes or gets roped into a card game with opportunist that results in both of them being kicked out (theres always blood drawn).

opportunist is a conman/snake oil salesman whos only still allowed bc hero is too nice and opp is too good at buttering ppl up.

smitten is a tortured artist, lamenting to anyone who will listen about his lost love and muse. he is never paying his damn tab, but again, hero is too nice.

broken is the local priest (the god is shifty btw) who only visits bc hero told him to get out more. he doesnt drink either. he just looks vaguely haunted.

contrarian is a guy whos hard to pin down. you cant find him, you just have to pray he appears ykno. the only people who Know him are hero and cold, but hero refuses to divulge anything abt him and cold is just. Cold. ykno.

paranoid is skeptic's partner (lol) and secretary. he does half the work around the office (maybe more) and lives with skeptic. he complains and protests and threatens to quit, but its all bark. hes very loyal. to his own frustration.

now im going to be honest. hunted is Super difficult to put in this au. given his role as a fight or flight, base animal instinct type, he cant be fit into an au like this very easily. ive considered a hunter, but that doesnt fit him at all. so. im a hack and i should delete my tumblr.

Just as you were about to speak, a tray was placed in front of your friends, all with adorably decorated lattes that had the signature cat of the café plastered on. “Sorry I'm late,” Minoru smiled sheepishly as he served your friends. “I was preparing some drinks for all of you.” He smiled as he took a seat next to you, wrapping his hands around your delicate waist, pulling you in as you gasped. You shot him a look, eyes widening at just what he was trying to do.

“Is he really your boyfriend?” One of your friends quipped, just as shocked as you were at this sudden development.

“Yep.” He smiled, bowing to them respectfully before turning to face you, his dark eyes boring into you. “[y/n] told me so much about all of you. I’m so happy to meet you guys.” He chuckled, acting like the perfect boyfriend that all of your friends would approve of.

“Oh is that an arctic monkeys keychain?” He asked as he began to initiate conversation with all your friends, surprisingly good at being able to pick up about what they all liked.

You couldn’t tell if he was just that good, or if he been doing research.

That was a stupid thought. How could he even do that?

“Well, I have to head back to work, but enjoy the coffee. It’s all on me.” He said as he leaned close to you. “See you later, dear.” He smiled before pressing a chaste kiss to your lips, that left you even more dumbfounded. You savoured the taste of mint chapstick on Minoru’s lips, how his lips matched yours perfectly, how you felt his lips quirk up when he realised you weren’t doing anything to deny him of your lips. He pulled away, his thumb grazing his lips with a grin. Hus thumb was somehow warmer than his lips, or was that just you? Your cheeks heated up as he even wiped the stain of coffee from your lips.

Your friends squealed the moment he left, complimenting your ‘boyfriend’. You practically went with the flow as you felt dizzy, still confused about the kiss.

my last attempt into band au (in other fandom) didn't go well...

also i remembered band au i was making for HTTYD in like 2014-2015. Angst, angst and even more angst, murder attempt, coma... wait what was the question again?

Ah, right, the Trix band au... are we going like... canon au or full on au?

Canon AU - the Trix, the universe are the same, just at some point they decided that why not, let's start a band

and Full AU is where they're like, normal humans, without magic.

Okay so canon AU. Icy's family is fine, Darcy's too. Don't know about Stormy tho, but she may at least have mom. She would be very different from how she's in canon tho... Icy and Darcy too, but not that much.

Stormy would be less agressive, but more sarcastic and would let her silly side show more. She would be the strongest of the Trix, both physically and magically. Also she's the leader of CT's sports team (yeah there is one)

Darcy would be more open, she would help Stormy play pranks on other CT students, and overall, she'd be The Popular girl, and leader of the Trix - at least to someone who don't know them.

Icy tho would be more closed to others, but more open with Darcy and Stormy. She's not that strong, in fact, she's on the lowest point of "average", and her whole lif she's been working really hard for every bit of magic she can do. She's still looking for power and ways to become stronger, but not as desprate as in canon, becuase it's just for her own confidence, not the "Greater cause" she has in "canon headcanon"

If she was alone, other witches of CT would try to make her target for all the bullying (she would bite and fight tho), but she has Darcy and Stormy. And those two are so popular, that them having Icy around just makes other question like "why are they keeping her, are they using her for something? well good for them i guess", and doesn't hurt their autority.

the Trix don't actually have a leader in their group, because Darcy and Stormy are equals, and they both respect (and love) Icy enough to not be asses and not order her around. And thet don't engage in any real fights or some doubtably legal stuff. Maybe they had few fights with fairies here and there, but nothing like that mess in s1.

Oh, and, they don't have their iconic witch uniform.

So, they still may have rivalry with Winx, and maybe the Winx started their band first... and someone, probably Stella, posted something like "we are superstars" with their photo, and Icy or Stormy would be like, stars, more like trash am I right sisters, and word after word... Stella said something like "you're just envy because you could never" and the trix were like "bet?"

OR MAYBE it was some kind of competition, with some valuable prise that both the winx and the trix wanted... i want to include their rivalry anyway lol

So Icy would be the singer and guitar, Stormy drums or buss guitar, Darcy synthesizer. They would play something like.......... idk electronic rock? Icy has really high singing voice and at first was embarrased by it, but then learned what kinds of notes ant tones work better for her. She prefers singing on the language of her home planet "Because nobody will understand that texts are actually cringe" (she's embaressed by singing in general, especially if it something she can relate to) (she also can't sing about love at all. technically she can, but it sounds like she has no idea what she's singing about and the song just doesnt work)

Darcy has few songs where she sings too, and Stormy just adds the insane screams from the depths of hell whenever it's needed.

Icy's older sisters help them with writing texts for their songs, their moms were their test audience ("We can't relay on their opinion, they'd like anything that we do, even if we try to take over Magix they woldn't have problems with that" - Icy, probably)

Darcy sometimes writes songs for herself only, she has deep and quiet voice, but it stunns people, and she doesn't even use magic. She plays music herself too, and it's something really wild-witch-y.

Stormy also has few solo's where she smashes all the drums while destroying her throat with screams, her texts are like "BLOOD BLOD GUTS MURDER MURDER MASSACRE" literally. There are people who enjoy that.

Icy don't sing alone, as i said, she's embarassed by it, even if everyone love her voice. And some bitches at CT use that to poke at her.

about gene!!!

we made her for the purpose of an unfinished fic. shes supposed to be the "maidler" (maid+butler) of ai seeyu, who we hc is fiiiilthy rich. she and ai are best friends, and they have this sort of symbiotic relationship?

ai does all the talking when guests are over, and generally does anything that needs any sort of Smarts, because gene doesnt like to speak much and isnt very book smart. on the other side though, gene loves to do house chores and take care of ai, and do basically anything that needs heavy lifting, which we hc ai cant do due to disability.

theyre around the same age id say? im not really sure. gene doesnt attend the school as of the fic, but i like to think it starts attending after the events of said fic!!!!! she hangs out with the one star students pretty much exclusively. shes really shy.

also yes her design and name are a vague nod to the jackbox character gene! we conceptualized her first with the idea of a maid/butler character that we could make a fesh pince joke out of, so we started with the nickname "g" and bibi just went uhhh GENE for its actual name LOL

about lucky!!!

lucky we first thought of with the concept of "sor oc with a voiceclaim of skullvolver" that i THINK came right after the godgame stream with the iconic payphone bit?? cause we were like oh skull is the only one on this stream not in sor. thatd be funny to make as a joke. ...it was quickly no longer a joke. the voiceclaim part isnt super serious though LOL he sounds like that annoying ppl as spiderman bit

we came up with the name lucky hapigo because name puns are very fitting with sor, and it kinda fit well with the personality we wanted to give him!!!! lucky is basically as his name says!!! happy go lucky!!!! hes in the hero club, a very small club of two tokusatsu type heroes who get no work because raven is saving the day all the time before they get a chance. hes pissed at her for it.

initially i was gonna make raven and lucky cousins? im still on the fence about it. currently not canon to his lore but idk it still could be LOL

ALSO I OC X CANON SHIP HIM WITH ZERO. YKNOW THE GOKU KNOCKOFF ONE STAR STUDENT. THAT GUY. i thought itd be funny and cute LOL. theyre really cute together in my heart. two very nice boys who are kind of dumb and need to spar with everything that moves.

- okay well while in my mind while error is technically the First Entity ink sees that isnt just a normal entity, dream is like their First. Friend. you know. Like when error first saw him he was screaming and crying for the hills bc it was also his first time seeing another outcode so. that reaction BUT with dream she was more filled with gentle confusion... this is a bit after she unstoned in the apple incident but still was new to au hopping and naive to most danger so they became friends!!! Questionably so.

-to elaborate, when they first meet dream is still stuck on the ideals of toxic positivity and pushing through hardship no matter what... i think this is something they eventually grow out of and dream will eventually learn to see the need for balance eventually but one of their first disputes happens when ink is running low on ink and most of whats left are the Negative Emotions within him alongside the especially strong panic that he usually feels when they get like this... dream would try to comfort him and try to say that itll work out in the end no matter what and that they just need to push through and that itll be okay like normal comforting words because dream is an empath and can sense feelings right,,i feel like its comforting in some cases but when things get Really Bad and especially when the main reserves of feelings that ink has are Negative, they heavily override his normal sense of self and i imagine they get a lot more. Snappy.... theres also the additional hc thingy of ink also really overexaggerating his feelings and overplaying them a lot for the sake of trying to feel more intensely (doesnt work, just drains him faster and will never truly feel natural to him...personally think that ink feels a lot of disconnect from his feelings) which could be considerably offputting to dream (though before adding swap to the group she thought it wass normal because she had only seen the fake pretend nice joy of the village influenced by her aura and not Genuine Feelings)

I think eventually through the years they would learn a lot from eachother...like with ink learning to be more naturally charismatic and dream learning to see past toxic positivity and have his perception on emotions change for the better (ie in learning that having different emotions are okay, so long as there is a balance)

id do alot more hcs but tbh what it boils down to is: toxic codependent yuri. intensely up and down relationship where theres an insane amount of love and attachment but also a lack of self from the both of them because they are only able to see themselves as a Thing to the other. Also exes who turned out to be besties. Thry got together and broke up wayyy before blue (they casually tell him stories about it and for the parts that he does know about he is horrified for.) Oh and they share hobbies and do parallel play alot. dream is more music oriented and can play the cello and flute. ink can play the ukelele but hes more familiar with drawing and painting duh. Also they have a garden. they love growing flowers but their favourites are sunflowers. Also have writing sessions together. Also may/may not also have beautiful princess disorder. (The both of them)

wait, can i ask why DNA doesnt matter when it comes to knowing if youre cherokee? doesnt having the dna confirm you having the ancestry? i dont understand why it is different, i would love to understand

So first off, DNA tests are strictly for entertainment. They are not super accurate, they're basically just for the novelty of it. Being able to enroll in a federal tribe is a legal matter, it's a matter of actual citizenship in a sovereign nation. A government entity like a native tribe will not accept a commercial DNA test as legal proof of ancestry.

A DNA test will not tell you you are cherokee. It'll say 'Indigenous Americas- North,' so it doesn't connect you to any tribe in particular. That isn't useful, you can't assume that a trace native result means your cherokee granny story is true. Even if you take a dna test and you have a like 20% native result, you'll still have to do genealogy to find the actual legal records connecting you to a certain tribe.

DNA tests are not accurate. For example, my mom took a 23andme DNA test a few years back and it gave her a 0.1% native trace ancestry result. She will bring it up and say 'oh I'm native!!' when she feels like it'll make her sound cool, but she's also done her genealogy back generations on all lines and there is zero native ancestry there. This happens a lot. Vs me, I took an ancestry.com DNA test [it was a gift, I wouldn't have done one otherwise I don't really care], and it says I am 100% European. Yet, my cherokee ancestry is easily found in my genealogy, and the DNA tests matched me with cousins who descend from the same Cherokee ancestors and who do have a native result. So you can't trust a positive Or negative result. It just isn't useful in this case lol

I will say, they can be useful when it comes to connecting with family as an adoptee or if you don't have contact with that side of your family. My friend has been able to find lots of cousins through their DNA test, which has helped them a lot since they were adopted.

Some tribes, like the EBCI, do use proper paternity DNA tests for enrollment. These are actual legal tests, though, not gimmicky kits.

So basically, even if you do get a native result on a dna test, you'll still need to do genealogy to confirm it, find what tribe, and find how they connect to you. For cherokees, family and kinship is super important, you'll often be asked who your family is, who your ancestors are, etc, it's part of our culture. If you are going to be claiming cherokee ancestry, you're going to be asked who you are. If your response is 'I got a native result on my dna test' you're going to get laughed at. To claim cherokee, you need to know who your family is, how you're connected to the people, that way you can actually find where you fit with the community. I've randomly found a cousin while visiting Cherokee NC, where I was introducing myself with my line and the guy I was talking to was like 'oh I'm a [surname] too!' And we were able to right there figure out exactly where we connected, which of our ancestors were siblings even when they lived in the early 1800s.

The genealogy will allow you to see if you can enroll as a citizen, teach you about your ancestors, help you find cousins, etc. Cherokee genealogy isnt hard, we are very well documented and there are plenty of resources available, like the Cherokee Research and Genealogy Facebook group ive mentioned before. You can point to an indigenous DNA result all you want, but it won't mean anything to us and it won't get you anywhere. Remember, to claim cherokee is to claim to be a part of a living people, and to reconnect is to reconnect to this community. You can't do it alone, and if you don't have the proof that will legitimize yourself to other cherokees, you wont be accepted and no one will help you learn.

Just.. don't waste your money lol. You can confirm or deny cherokee ancestry properly with genealogy easily and cheaply, while DNA tests are expensive and won't actually do much of anything.

big part of why i loathe what totk did with its story and lore is that it tremendously hurts botw in retrospect

i said that before and mentioned all of these points before as well but i just have to mention it again; how totk did away with all the little mysteries in botw, like the ancient hero looking kinda strange leading to lots of interesting theories- WHOOP its a sonau mix guy revealed through a collectable and its straight up said by purah/impa that that is the ancient hero .. like it was an always known fact ......

the sonau ruins in botw of a long gone group of people that lived in the forest of phirone - WHOOP those are just monuments built by hylians in memory of the sonau and actually their real architecure isnt rare and few but everywhere en masse and doesnt resemble the ones from botw at all, aside from some vague dragon motive; theres more stuff of the oh so sadly gone and not at all mysterious anymore sonau left than there was of the ancient shiekah in botw (and now it doesnt exist at all anymore, who cares about them, how important they were, or this worlds history, especially zelda, she never cared about shiekah or history that wasnt about sonau :)))) )

one of the biggest crimes, to me, personally, is what totk did with the dragons not actively mind you, but still changed my view of them and i hate it; i always saw them as these ethereal otherwordly spirits older than time itself (i liked the idea of them being like a final evolution of the dragons from skyward sword, tho of course i dont need that to be canon lol) and then totk comes along and .. the newly revealed -always been there super cool- race of people from the sky is heavily based on their designs ... and they have armor sets imitating the dragons ... and have ... magical never heard of before stones that turn people into .... dragons .... i get how that can be an interesting thing for people to connect but for me personally ... its a mystery that REALLY shouldnt have been solved, at all, or even touched, the fact that you knew nothing about the dragons other than they are here was what made them feel so much more divine and awe inspiring (i know you could try to think of it being the other way around, the sonau worshipping the dragons so much they dedicated all of their cultur around them ((but then again were is that anywhere, if they worshipped them so much then they sure didnt matter in any of what we say of them in memories..)) ... but the sonau designs, the armor ... the stones ... its all such an obvious connection ...) and its really hard for me to ignore it, i actively have to work now to keep seeing the dragons as these untouchable ethereal spirits instead of some sonau guy eating a fucking stone

and yet again its like .. can you really blame me for feeling weird about the sonau/dislike them when ... theres nothing that WASNT touched by the sonau, they already had tech way above the level of the shiekah, they were in the sky, the surface AND the underground all along, theirs is the actually important influence on the history of the world, they have been in every place that was once important, hell they were in every place were a settlement of people is EVEN THE FEW YEARS OLD TABURASA (tarrey town), their buildings look like they were abandoned 10 years ago, all their shit is still working, they founded (this) hyrule, they are the royals, they are the gods, they are the dragons, the ancient hero was a sonau mix clad in waht totk made out to be their signature design elements-

we had recordings from that time (tapestry) and even PEOPLE (the monks) and yet the sonau were a total mystery? even though their culture was literally still there when the shiekah built their tech?

what gets me escpeially is how .. they didnt NEED to erase anything shiekah, they didnt need to act like they never existed, they didnt need to make the sonau be the coolest guys ever and were so desperate to get that into your thinking everyone in the game is obsessed with them and tells you why you should be obsessed too

like am i just insane or is it a rather .. obvious connection to make that the shiekah found the tech of the sonau and built theirs inspired by what they could find, it was so old at that point that its non functional or even recognizable in the present, but when the shiekah found it they could still research it; given how the shiekah built multiple shrines and puzzles to them WITHTIN ruins that, in botw, were sonau ruins, i thought that was the logical line to draw and a good way to connect them while still leaving the sonau to be a mysterious ... mystery (this is what im going for in my rewrite btw)

also another thought, if the ancient shiekah could see the future to a degree they built stuff to prepare the next hero for the next calamity that would happen in thousands of years .. how did they never find out about gan? i know they were more about the future than the past but like ... were they really so stupid to see that the calamity will come back just the same from the same place and NOT investigate?? ESPECIALLY considering that the weird half sonau ancient hero was literally THERE when they saw the furture and built all of that for it???? the sonau werent gone gone in any sense and you CANNOT tell me that the shiekah jsut ignored this weird half whatever looking guy outfitted in an aesthetic and culture that wasnt obviously present anymore and clearly connected to somethign else, with probably clear scars were whatever buildings were lifted into the skies- SOMEHOW- and monoments LITERALLY STILL READABLE IN THE PRESENT that tells you about all theshit that went down?? even if you hid them with some weird mechanisms, are you realyl not gonen investigate?? also why hide it anyway?? if its supposed to be a monument to the sonau why the fuck would you built stuff to HIDE the information from it?? gan cant reach it anyway bc hes KINDA STUCK you are telling me the group of people with a vision of the future and high tech stuff that are famously obsessed with the stars and sky didnt see any of the sonau shit floating around there?? ohoho but it was hidden by magic uwu WHY bc you wanted to wait thousands of years for the "right" link to come around?? so you let thousands of people suffer and die just bc you wanted a specific guy? why not the ancient hero instead?? and solve the problem right then and there?? or would that mess too much with the history all of the sudden, you didnt care about messing anythign else up before either

well first jj had sex with that older woman cause he thought kitten was doing the same. subconsciously he wanted to one-up her (she didnt have sex with the guy it was just other stuff) and it like. really pissed her off actually she just never told him. so from then on she upped the mind games cause shes #crazy

We’ve discussed how some of Cynthia and Diantha’s pokemon would react to their relationship (Lucario and Gardevoir as the long-suffering therapists, Hawlucha happily watching the IRL telenovella develop, you mentioned before Milotic trying to “nudge them together” in the most awkward situations possible) but I’m curious how you think their other pokemon would regard their relationship? IMO Diantha’s Tyrantrum is too self absorbed to notice any human romance happening and only finds out after a year of them being together.

Garchomp: she is fiercely protective of cynthia and i dont see diantha being any exception at first. i imagine garchomp takes a little while to warm up to most, if she warms up to you at all. but once she and diantha establish a connection, i feel that garchomp would really love her. i see garchomp being like the stereotypical Big Mean Guard Dog and is extremely devoted to the few she accepts as worthy. diantha becomes one of her favorite people but for a while, diantha couldnt approach cynthia without feeling a cold chill of draconic eyes on her (garchomp is too well trained to outright attack anyone unprovoked) now, they are snuggle buddies.

Spiritomb: being the pokemon that it is, i dont ever see it being a cuddly creature, but it for certain shows its affection in its own way. probably thinks at first that diantha is gonna be easy to spook, but when it finds that she isnt as easily started as most, i think that in itself would earn some respect points. well, about as much as a several thousand year old cluster of miserable souls can have for a person. it still enjoys trying to spook and trick her but thats also sort of its baseline for most. diantha finds it oddly cute in a macabre sort of way.

Roserade: it seems somewhat cliche to characterize the masquerade rose pokemon as a romantic but. sue me. she was a phaesporiashipper from day one. similarly to how i see gardenia's roserade offering flowers to cheryl on her trainer's behalf before they even started dating, i can see cynthia's roserade not at all being subtle in dropping hints, but is a bit more elegant and artistic in its implementation than perhaps gardenia's roserade was. like perhaps, whipping up a small flurry of rose petals to swirl around them when she feels the moment calls for it. hawlucha highly appreciates the added theatrics.

Gastrodon: this is a dumb puppy slug. there is nothing going on behind those eyes. at least, as far as we know. she likes diantha. diantha smells nice and gastrodon likes to ooze on her. diantha gastrodon approved.

Togekiss: oh another big phaesporiashipper i would think, but not in the same theatrical way as perhaps roserade or hawlucha would be. i see him being a bit more of a worrywart for some reason, unsure why. if he could speak, he would regularly ask diantha if shes eaten recently, if she needs some water, how has she been sleeping etc.

Glaceon: it is sort of shocking how similar in some ways she is to diantha in terms of personality. at first im ngl i think glaceon would be sort of put off by diantha, and still there are times where they dont mesh the best, but there are some things they can connect over. cynthia thinks its very sweet when glaceon decides to sit on diantha's lap and demand pets. (and glaceon will then spend the rest of the afternoon pretending diantha doesnt exist lol.) depending on the nature of the comparison, diantha doesnt always appreciate when cynthia points out how similar they are, but she also knows cynthia is right and cant really say anything about it.

Tyrantrum: i like your perspective on this one lol. tyrantrum strikes me as the type that isnt extremely aware of whats going on around him all the time. but thats ok. he adores diantha. and diantha's new friend cynthia is ok too. he doesnt like her garchomp tho. that probably occupies more of his mind than whatever is going on with his trainer and cynthia.

Aurorus: phaesporiashipper. is probably a part of whatever spectator group hawlucha and roserade have going on. i dont have much more to say on this, unfortunately. : (

Gourgeist: likes cynthia a lot!!! thinks she is super cool and likes her roserade and her spiritomb and also cynthias whole vibe!! probably likes to follow cynthia around when she is visiting. eternally curious and loves to poke her nose into whatever cynthia is doing and i can see cynthia even trying to explain some of her research to gourgeist, knowing gourgeist probably doesnt get it at all, but nevertheless she is an enthusiastic listener! delights in doing little things like tugging on cynthias hair and vanishing before being seen, or making her teacup float off the table. of course this doesnt faze cynthia, but for gourgeist's sake, she will act surprised and play along.

Goodra: time for cynthia to get slimed on by a big dumb puppy slug. no one can escape The Goo. cynthia maintains that goodra's goo is much worse to try to clean off than gastrodon's. diantha likes to remind her she is an asshole if she doesnt accept a goodra hug.

yeah no, ever noticed how Bella act's so defensive and offended whenever Jacob calls the Cullens "leeches" and "bloodsuckers" or is generally mean about them but doesnt say sht when the Cullens (except Carlisle and Esme but they dont say shit either) call Jacob "dog" "mutt" or (fuck you Edward) "mongrel". I get Bella being pissed enough to call him that in Eclipse bc she was forced into a kiss, but in Breaking Dawn after she became a vampire and flipped out over Jacob imprinting (which yea sucks but he cant control it and she knows that) she starts calling him slurs too. (and I reiterate, the Cullens dont do shit to stop or restrain her, and Seth ended up injured because of it!!)

It’s not at all the same thing when the wolves call the cullens parasites and bloodsuckers. Because I mean it’s literally true, that is what they are. I’d say those are just synonyms for vampire. But aside from that, the wolves existence is BECAUSE of vampires. The DANGER and predatorial nature FORCED them to phase in the first place. And the cullens who could literally live anywhere, were the ones who did it. The cullens actually have no right to call them “dog” “mongrel” “mutt.” These words are not synonymous with “wolf” or “shapeshifter.” Like if the pack wants to call themselves giant dogs humorously, then they’re allowed to. I mean I was 10 years old when I first read twilight and I saw these themes LOUD in my face. It’s very much there and obvious. If I was able to see it then how can’t grown adults see it now? None of this is a reach nor is it like buried beneath the text. It is all very much right there. It’s even clearer in Jacobs pov but most of the story is in Bella’s POV so maybe it’s not super apparent to some, but it definitely was to me at age 10 and has been forever.
