80 #4, Alliance #4, Priest #1. So there's my four potential mains all dinged, though only my hunter is in a good place gear-wise. I don't think the priest will make it into the finals, as she's got no durability without gear and my friend group either doesn't do outdoor content at the same times I do, or is completely uninterested in outdoor content (or helping with it even when they're bored out of their skulls, Duf) :( Obviously gearing her up would help solve that but I've been a pet class for so long and a tank hybrid before that, it's kind of a huge gap in access. Then again, in theory you don't have to do outdoor content on the character you do other content on so I could be a log-in-for-group-content kinda gal. I dunno.
It's a shame, because of the four she's definitely the one I'm most interested in aesthetically right now lol, her mog is so pretty! she's so on theme! I'm so sad!
#xellafail#world of warcraft#alts are hard#I had the idea to pair the VE wings with those priest shoulders while I was browsing the epsi mogit for beach bash looks#then like two weeks later someone on the transmog subreddit posted a similar thing but using those pants instead of a skirt & I was like OH#I CAN USE THE GOOD MYTHIC VOLCOROSS BOOTS#meanwhile my hunter is sitting out here languishing in Panda#I have some race changes pre-purchased so I could swap her to something else but like#nothing A-side is catching my attention mailwise right now#I could go earthen just for the heritage bc the alts Lion and I leveled last night#can't actually pick up the heritage armor for another 14 levels#because the stupid waygate to the memory archive reqs level 68#but I really don't like earthen enough to have more than one right now lol#tag edit: RIGHT as I posted this someone linked the wowhead post about non-evoker dracthyr#which includes hunter#so I guess I actually do know what I'm race changing to be next#(or maybe next next if I can't wait that long)#(it's only like two months though so idk)

Trash Novel Chronicles: Love Triangles and Royal Rumbles - Leona Kingscholar x Reader
When you get isekai'd as the male lead in the novel where your favorite character, Leona Kingscholar is the second male lead, all that's left to do is rewrite the romance!
Series Masterlist
You're just an average person, doing normal human things like eating, sleeping, and, of course, staring at your poster of Leona Kingscholar for three hours straight. Totally healthy behavior. People have hobbies, right? Some knit, some jog, and you…? You defend your fictional lion husband from slander on the internet. You’re practically a digital knight in shining armor.
The story that has consumed your very soul? Oh, just your typical Cliché Villainess Academy Novel: Revenge Edition™. The plot is so by-the-book, it’s basically a war crime against creativity. Female lead? She’s been in love with the male lead since he gave some boring welcome speech that apparently hit her so hard, her brain rewired itself into a romantic mess.
The villainess? Obviously in love with the male lead too, but her one and only goal in life is making the heroine’s existence a never-ending trainwreck of public embarrassment. And the male lead? Sweet summer child. He just wants to get his degree and avoid eye contact with all of these lunatics.
Enter: Leona Kingscholar, the second male lead. The man, the myth, the walking sarcasm machine. He’s there purely to fuel jealousy in everyone else’s love story, but for you? He’s everything. The brooding, lazy, hot second male lead who rolls his eyes at every plot point like he’s just as done with this novel as you are. He has better things to do, like nap, but here he is, dragged into this mess by proximity.
If it were up to you, he and the male lead would run off together, leave the heroine and villainess to start their own hobby club about emotional devastation, and the two guys would live happily ever after in matching beach chairs somewhere.
But no. Instead, you’re stuck reading about her fawning over him while Leona is just… there. Existing. The only thing keeping your interest alive.
And now? Now, your loyalty to Leona Kingscholar is about to pay off. The fan event of the century is just days away. It’s going to be glorious. A whole day dedicated to Leona—merch, fan contests, life-sized cardboard cutouts (which, let’s be honest, you’re ready to risk it all for). You've cleared your schedule, mentally prepared yourself for the inevitable squealing, and created a battle plan for acquiring the best merch before everyone else.
But fate? Fate’s cruel.
You’re casually defending Leona’s honor online as usual, battling some no-name troll who dares to claim that the male lead is "better written." (HA! You laugh in their wrong face.) But then—what’s this? A an likes your tweet about Leona! And not just any author. THE ONE YOU LOVE. The serotonin shoots through you like an adrenaline shot straight to the brain.
Your heart’s racing. You’re vibrating at a frequency only dogs can hear. You leap out of your chair like some majestic gazelle—or at least that’s what you tell yourself as you promptly trip over the plushie army that guards your floor.
Before you know it, you’re tumbling, body flailing like a noodle, bouncing down the stairs in what feels like slow motion. The world spins. Your merch shelves mock you from the distance. You land at the bottom in a heap, your soul floating just above your body.
"Is this… how it ends?" you wheeze, gasping for breath, more in shock than pain. As your vision starts to fade, all you can think is: I never made it to the Leona event….
And with that, you die. Crushed under the weight of fandom.
You wake up, and your first thought isn’t the usual, “Oh, I’ve been isekai’d into a new world, how fascinating, I’ll have time to adjust in a moment of peace and reflection.” No. You wake up and it hits you like a brick: Oh no. Female lead.
But then, a beam of hope breaks through the clouds of despair and shines down on you like a heavenly spotlight: Wait. Leona Kingscholar is here.
Before you can even revel in the thought of being in the same universe as your broody lion crush, reality smacks you upside the head. Loud voices are pulling you back to the scene unfolding right in front of your very eyes.
You blink. Hold on. This is not a bedroom, and this is definitely not a private moment to gather your thoughts like in every other isekai novel. Oh no, you’ve been thrown directly into the group project scene.
You know, the one where the villainess is sharpening her claws on the heroine while Leona watches from the sidelines like he’s two seconds away from a permanent nap? Yeah, you’re smack in the middle of it.
The villainess, looking as pissed off as usual, is glaring daggers at the trembling heroine, who is staring at you with those wide, teary eyes like you’re supposed to swoop in and save her from this verbal smackdown.
And that’s when it hits you: you’re the male lead. The original goody-two-shoes, justice-loving male lead who always stepped in to defend the heroine. The one who got suckered into every cliché moment, complete with sparkles and heroic speeches about morality and blah blah blah.
Not you, though.
You take one look at the heroine. She’s giving you this look like you’re her knight in shining armor, expecting you to throw yourself in front of her and deliver some dramatic monologue about kindness and decency. And you? You're mentally checking out of this scene faster than the speed of light.
Nah. You’re not about that life.
Your gaze drifts to Leona, sitting on the far side of the room, slouched over like he’s wondering why he’s being subjected to this emotional soap opera when he could be napping. His face screams "done," and honestly? Same. He meets your gaze, eyes half-lidded and bored, probably hoping you’ll do the usual male lead routine and put an end to this nonsense.
But oh no, today’s different.
You casually stroll over to where Leona is sitting, ignoring the drama unfolding behind you. With the swagger of someone who knows exactly what they’re about to do is going to blow some minds, you hold out your hand to him. "So, uh… you want to ditch this disaster and go take a nap? Or maybe raid the kitchens? I’m thinking we play hooky and pretend this never happened."
Leona’s eyes flicker with surprise for half a second. The male lead? The goody-two-shoes-moral-compass of the entire plot? The guy who literally lived to stop drama in its tracks? Is offering to blow off this whole mess? He raises an eyebrow, smirking like the cat who caught the canary.
"Didn’t think you had it in you," Leona drawls, but you can tell he’s already down for this. "Alright. Let’s go. If anyone asks, I’m gonna say you dragged me out."
"Deal," you say, trying not to look too smug. And with that, you turn on your heel, and with Leona at your side, you head for the door, leaving behind a shell-shocked villainess and a teary-eyed heroine who’s probably still processing the fact that her supposed knight in shining armor just dipped.
As you and Leona stroll out, you hear the villainess mutter, “What… just happened?” and you can’t help but grin. You may have just turned the plot upside down, but at least you’re doing it in style.
"Hey, Leona," you say, nudging him, "think we can find some of those fancy desserts in the kitchen? I’m starving."
Leona snorts, shoving his hands into his pockets. "If you’re buying, sure."
And just like that, the male lead and the second male lead walk off into the sunset—or rather, the campus courtyard—hand in hand with a new mission: Avoiding all future plot nonsense at all costs.
You’re not sure how you got here, staring at the over-the-top ball decorations like you’ve stepped into a bargain bin fairytale, but hey, life has taken a weird turn lately. You, of all people, are living out the plot of a novel so cliché it makes your head hurt.
But you guess that’s what happens when you get isekai’d into a second-rate villainess story. The only thing missing is a glass slipper and some woodland creatures to sing with.
And of course, surprise! The ball isn’t just some casual evening of sipping punch and avoiding the villainess’s death stares. No, if you don’t nail the ball, you don’t graduate. Because nothing says "academic achievement" like knowing how to waltz while dressed like a background character from Bridgerton.
So here you are, in ball lessons, where everyone is nervously pairing off while you’re trying not to roll your eyes into another dimension. The heroine, with her usual doe-eyed sparkle, gets paired with you first. And let’s be real: she’s either terrible at dancing, or she’s using this as an excuse to get you to hold her close.
But you? Oh no. You’ve read enough of this garbage to know where that’s going, and you have zero interest in playing out the “close embrace, sparks flying, almost-kiss” trope. Absolutely not.
As soon as the music starts, you decide it’s time to act. You let your feet stumble—deliberately, of course—and flail around like you’ve never seen a ballroom floor in your life. The heroine, bless her clueless heart, giggles like she thinks you’re just being cute, but you’re not about to humor this. When the instructor’s eyes lock onto you, you seize the opportunity.
"Oh no!" you say dramatically, throwing a hand over your forehead like you’re in some kind of soap opera. "I’m so bad at this. Could someone please teach me how to dance?"
You pause, glance around the room, and then lock eyes with Leona Kingscholar.
"Leona!" you shout, loud enough that the whole room freezes. "You’re the second prince! You must’ve had etiquette lessons, right? Teach me how to dance!"
The room collectively loses its mind. The heroine looks like you’ve just slapped her with a glove and challenged her to a duel. The villainess is staring at you like you’ve lost your marbles. And Leona? Leona’s expression is somewhere between utter confusion and why me.
Leona leans back, crossing his arms, visibly annoyed. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” he mutters, but there’s no denying the faint twitch of a smirk at the corner of his mouth when he sees the heroine and villainess get shoved into an awkward dancing pair together.
Despite his clear irritation, Leona steps forward, because let’s face it, he’s the kind of guy who’ll humor you if it means avoiding worse drama. You slide into position with him, and honestly? You’re in heaven. You can barely focus on your feet, too busy trying to hide your grin while you imagine all the drama this is causing behind you.
Meanwhile, the heroine and the villainess are floundering around, tripping over each other like they’ve got two left feet each. The villainess is grinding her teeth, and the heroine keeps stepping on her toes. It’s a glorious disaster.
Leona, despite his annoyance, is surprisingly good at this. He’s leading with the kind of effortless grace that makes you wonder how someone so lazy can still be so competent at everything. You’re definitely not staring at his sharp features while he dances, not at all.
"You do realize this is a waste of time, right?" Leona grumbles under his breath, his eyes flicking to the chaos unfolding behind you. "Why me, herbivore? You could’ve asked anyone else."
You just shrug, trying not to sound too smug. "What can I say? I have excellent taste in dance partners."
Leona’s brow twitches like he’s torn between smirking and rolling his eyes. "Yeah, sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night." But the smirk wins out, especially when the villainess and heroine fumble yet again, nearly toppling over each other.
You glance up at him, beaming. Leona Kingscholar might be annoyed, but he’s not stopping anytime soon. And you? You’re just here for the ride, watching the heroine and villainess self-destruct from the safety of Leona’s arms.
Ball lessons? Piece of cake.
You’ve been doing everything humanly possible to avoid the female lead like she’s a carrier of the medieval plague. You thought you’d be safe here, hiding behind your “I’m too busy and mysterious for romance” persona, but no—somehow—the more you avoid her, the more she’s convinced that you’re the dark, brooding, irresistible male lead she’s always dreamed of.
You know, the type who avoids emotional connections but secretly harbors a heart of gold. But the truth is, you’re just a guy trying to get through the day so you can swoon over Leona Kingscholar in peace.
It’s not like you’ve been subtle about it either. You’ve been dropping hints left and right, hoping the universe would give you a break and let the female lead fall in love with literally anyone else. But no. Somehow, everyone is ignoring your very obvious affection for Leona.
It’s like you’re stuck in a tragic comedy where the female lead falls harder for you the more you try to disappear, and Leona just… well, he’s just living his best life, completely unaware of your internal screaming.
Take the latest tea party, for example. You were just trying to enjoy some pastries, maybe steal a glance at Leona from across the table, when the heroine decides to make her move. She picks up a delicate slice of cake and holds it out to you, eyes sparkling with that innocent-yet-hopeful look that says, “This is our moment.”
You? You’re not having any of that. Nope. No way. You’re not about to be part of this rom-com narrative. So, without missing a beat, you casually take the cake from her and, in one smooth motion, turn and offer it to Leona, who’s lounging lazily next to you, looking like he’d rather be anywhere else.
Leona raises an eyebrow at you, clearly baffled by why you’re holding out cake like he’s some sort of royal who expects to be hand-fed. “What are you doing?” he mutters, looking suspiciously between you and the cake.
“Just thought you’d like some,” you say with a straight face, ignoring the heroine’s stunned expression. She’s sitting there, fork still poised in the air, blinking rapidly like you’ve just committed the greatest betrayal of the century.
Leona huffs, looking mildly irritated but mostly confused. After a pause, he shrugs and leans forward, taking a bite of the cake without even bothering to lift his own hand. “Whatever,” he mutters between chews. “Tastes fine.”
You nod, satisfied. Meanwhile, the heroine looks like she’s on the verge of tears, and the villainess is smirking in the background like she’s about to take out popcorn and enjoy the drama.
Later that day, you find a nice, quiet spot under a tree to relax. You’ve managed to avoid any major incidents so far, and for once, you’re not being dragged into some dramatic showdown. You lie back, close your eyes, and just let yourself chill. But, of course, the universe doesn’t want you to have peace.
Enter Leona.
Without a word, he flops down next to you, takes one look at your position, and decides—out of all the places he could sit—that your lap is the best pillow option available. You feel his head plop down on your lap like this is the most normal thing in the world. You stare down at him, completely dumbfounded, while he just closes his eyes and lets out a long, satisfied sigh.
“Leona?” you start, voice half bewildered, half amused. “You good?”
“Shut up,” he mutters without opening his eyes. “You’re more comfortable than the grass.”
You blink at him, not sure whether to laugh or cry. Meanwhile, the villainess strolls by, spots the two of you under the tree, and comes to an immediate halt. Her face contorts into a mix of disbelief and confusion, like she’s just witnessed something unholy. You can almost hear her mental scream of, what the hell is going on here?!
She doesn’t say anything, though. Just stands there, hands clenched, before turning on her heel and storming off. You don’t even care. You’re too busy reveling in the fact that Leona chose your lap as his personal resting place. If that isn’t a win, you don’t know what is.
And then, of course, there’s the infamous hallway incident. The heroine—who, by this point, you’re pretty sure has developed some kind of radar for finding you—comes running toward you. She trips over something (the air? her own foot? you don’t know) and launches herself straight into your arms in what is clearly an attempt to trigger some rom-com, slow-motion embrace.
But you? You’re not here for this.
With the reflexes of a seasoned avoider, you sidestep her dramatic fall, and she goes face-first into the floor. There’s a stunned silence as she lies there, unmoving, probably processing how she ended up eating dirt.
You glance over at Leona, who’s watching the whole thing with a lazy smirk, clearly enjoying the trainwreck. You give him a slight nod of approval, and he just rolls his eyes, a small grin still tugging at his lips.
The villainess, standing a few feet away, is laughing her head off. She’s doubled over, clutching her stomach, while the heroine’s dignity is scattered all over the floor. But you? You’re just staring at Leona, completely ignoring the chaos around you.
Somehow, despite all the madness, you can’t help but think: this is fine.
The day of the big spelldrive match arrives, and the heroine has never looked more confident in her life. She’s decked out in her team’s colors, standing tall at the edge of the field, waiting for you to join her in your usual spot. You know, like a loyal dog. A loyal, obedient dog who always does what she expects.
But not today.
Today, you roll up to the game decked out head to toe in full Savanaclaw merch. We're talking a custom jersey with Leona’s name on the back, a headband, face paint, and—just to really emphasize the point—a Savanaclaw banner tied around your neck like you’ve decided to cosplay as Captain Lion Fang.
You take your seat in the Savanaclaw section and immediately start hyping up the crowd like you’re getting paid for it. The heroine spots you from across the field and stares like she’s watching a crime scene unfold in real-time. Meanwhile, Leona’s already spotted you, and the smug smirk on his face tells you he’s LOVING the attention.
The game kicks off, and with each goal Leona scores, you’re going feral.
You’re screaming your lungs out, waving your banner around like you’re auditioning for some weird mascot gig. People are looking at you like you’ve lost your mind, but you don’t care. This is YOUR moment.
Leona, on the field, is living for it. Every time he glances your way, he adds a little extra flair to his plays, just to make you scream louder. He scores, and you’re on your feet, jumping up and down like you’ve won the lottery.
At this point, the heroine is practically catatonic. Her world is crumbling before her eyes. You can practically see her brain struggling to process what she’s witnessing: you, her loyal supporter, decked out in Savanaclaw gear and cheering for her rival.
“I... I don’t understand…” she whispers, her voice trembling like she’s been betrayed by the universe itself. “Why aren’t you cheering for us?”
You turn to her with all the nonchalance of someone who’s just ordered fries at a drive-thru. “Uh… Leona’s hot?”
It’s like you slapped her across the face with a wet fish. She stands there, frozen, her eyes wide, like she’s witnessing the fall of an empire. "B-But... you're supposed to support me!"
Before you can reply with another devastating truth bomb, Leona casually strolls over after winning the game, looking like he just walked out of a perfume ad. His hair’s tousled, a thin sheen of sweat making him look even more annoyingly handsome. He stops in front of you, smirking like he’s been planning this moment his entire life.
"Didn’t know you were my biggest fan," he drawls, voice low and lazy. “Gotta say, I’m impressed with your enthusiasm. Screamin’ my name like that… kinda hard to ignore.”
You open your mouth, ready to fire back with something witty, but what comes out is more of a high-pitched squeak, followed by, “Hahaha, Y-Yeah… you’re welcome?”
And then, the words that break you: “How ‘bout we celebrate with a nap?”
Your brain freezes. A nap? You? With Leona? Your heart is doing cartwheels while the rest of your organs are busy melting into a puddle. Your mouth is moving, but all that comes out is an unintelligible “Uhhuhmm.”
Leona chuckles, clearly enjoying how flustered you are. He reaches out, grabbing your wrist, and starts dragging you off with him—right in front of everyone. He doesn’t even care that the entire field is watching. He’s already made up his mind.
The heroine, meanwhile, is standing there in stunned silence, her brain fully blue-screening as she watches you and Leona disappear. She’s still processing the Leona’s comment when the villainess, who has been observing this whole disaster unfold, finally chimes in from the sidelines with a shrug.
“Well, as long as it’s not the heroine,” she says, flicking her hair back with an air of satisfaction. “This is fine.”
And off you go, being dragged to a nap date you’re definitely not mentally prepared for, your face burning hotter than the sun. Leona glances back at you, that smug smirk still plastered on his face. "You’re lookin’ a little red there. You sure you’re up for this?"
You sputter, tripping over your own words. "I-I’m fine! Totally fine! Nap? Cool! Casual napping! No big deal!”
Leona just chuckles again, clearly entertained by how much you're floundering. “If you say so. Just don’t pass out before we get there.”
Yeah. Don’t pass out. Easier said than done when the man of your dreams is casually dragging you off to nap like it's no big deal while your brain screams at you in ten different languages.
This is fine. Totally fine. You’re fine.
Maybe.
You were sitting with Jack and Ruggie at the cafeteria, chatting about nothing in particular—well, Jack was chatting. Ruggie was there purely because you promised to pay for his lunch. Still, you’d like to think that maybe, just maybe, he stuck around because he actually enjoyed your company. Maybe.
“So, any tips on how to deal with midterms?” Jack asked, ears twitching as he looked at you with that wide-eyed eagerness that only first-years ever had. He was honestly like a giant puppy, trying so hard to be good.
You leaned back in your chair, doing your best impression of a wise and worldly senior, which mostly involved pretending you weren’t sweating about your own midterms. “My advice? Caffeine. And if you have the chance to sleep, take it. Oh, and don’t forget to eat. I learned that one the hard way.”
Jack nodded seriously, committing it all to memory like you were passing down sacred knowledge. Meanwhile, Ruggie was on his third helping of food, barely acknowledging the conversation.
"Hey, if you're handing out wisdom, how ‘bout you tell me how to get free food more often?” Ruggie said between bites, shooting you a cheeky grin.
“Isn’t that already your specialty?” you shot back, eyeing the mountain of food in front of him.
He just laughed. “Can’t argue with that, but having backup plans never hurt.”
Before you could respond, you felt a shadow fall over the table. You looked up, half expecting it to be the heroine or some random classmate, but nope. It was Leona. Leona, who you were 99% sure had skipped class because he always skips class. And he looked… annoyed?
Oh no.
He ignored Jack and Ruggie completely, his sharp gaze zeroing in on you like you’d committed some grave crime. “Oi, herbivore,” he drawled, hands in his pockets like this wasn’t weird at all. “Let’s go.”
“Go where?” you asked, blinking up at him. Leona never approached people unless he wanted something.
“To the tree,” he said flatly, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“The tree?” Jack echoed, ears perking up in confusion.
Ruggie, on the other hand, was grinning like the Cheshire Cat. “Oho~ Someone’s in demand.”
Leona shot Ruggie a look that could’ve curdled milk. “Shut it, Ruggie.”
Your brain was still trying to process the situation. You were sitting here, minding your own business, giving sage advice about caffeine and survival, and now Leona was dragging you off to his tree like it was completely normal?
He didn’t wait for an answer. He just grabbed your wrist, yanking you up from your seat as if this was some kind of kidnap situation, and started walking toward the courtyard.
“Uh—Leona? What’s going on?” you asked, doing your best to keep up without tripping over your own feet.
Leona didn’t even look back. “You’re talkin’ too much. Need some peace and quiet.”
You blinked, thoroughly confused but not necessarily mad about being dragged off. It’s just… “Why am I involved in your nap plans?”
“’Cause I said so.”
Wow, cryptic. You were about to ask again when you reached the tree. The infamous Leona nap spot. He plopped down against the trunk and, before you could protest, pulled you down next to him. Without another word, he stretched out and—because apparently boundaries didn’t exist—rested his head on your lap.
This was… This was happening.
You glanced around, half expecting to see a camera crew pop out and tell you this was some elaborate prank, but nope. Leona was lounging on you like it was the most natural thing in the world, eyes already closed, arms crossed behind his head.
“Uh, Leona?”
“Shut up. M’ tryin’ to sleep.”
You stared down at him, your brain short-circuiting. This was the third time this week he’d done this. Just… kidnapped you for a nap. What was his deal? Was your lap particularly comfortable? Did you radiate some kind of sleepy aura? What was going on here?
Meanwhile, from the distance, you spotted her. The villainess. Watching. For the third time in as many days. And you could see it. You could see the moment she put the pieces together. Her eyes widened in slow realization, her lips twitching into a smirk. She knew. She finally knew.
When Leona finally woke up—after what felt like hours of you sitting there, too dazed to move—you were free. For now. He stretched lazily and gave you a casual “Thanks,” as if this wasn’t the most bizarre situation you’d ever been in, and you quickly scrambled away, making your way back to the dorms with your head spinning.
And that’s when the villainess cornered you.
Oh no.
There she was, leaning against the doorframe with a knowing look, her sharp gaze trained on you like a predator sizing up its prey. You swallowed nervously. She was about to confront you about the heroine, wasn’t she? This was it. This was the moment. Was she going to declare some rivalry? Challenge you to a duel? Confess to you? Make this whole thing painfully awkward?
She smiled, and it was not the evil grin you were expecting. “I’m on your side.”
You blinked. “…What?”
She pushed off the wall, stepping closer, her eyes gleaming with a new kind of intensity. “Leona. I know you’re after him.”
Your heart stopped. This was it. She was going to call you out and—wait, what did she just say?
“I’ll help you confess to Leona,” she said, matter-of-factly. “On one condition.”
You were staring at her like she’d just sprouted wings and started speaking in tongues. “You… will?”
She nodded. “Yes. If you help me become more influential than that heroine, I’ll help you get Leona to notice you more.”
You blinked again, processing her words. She wanted your help to outshine the heroine, and in exchange, she’d be your wingwoman? Wingwoman?!
You grinned, holding out your hand for a dramatic shake. “Hell yeah.”
She clasped your hand, her smile mirroring yours. "Consider it a deal."
And just like that, you walked away from the most unexpected alliance of your life, fully equipped with a villainess-turned-wingwoman and a new plan to win over Leona.
Honestly? Life was getting weirder by the day.
“Okay, so just to confirm,” Ruggie’s eyes glinted with mischief as he leaned back in his chair, arms folded behind his head. “You want us to sit through this poetry reading,” he said, drawing out the word like it was some cursed phrase, “and cheer for the villainess. And in return, I get all the food left over?”
“Yup,” you nodded, trying to keep a straight face.
“And Jack’s here because…?”
“I asked him nicely.”
Jack shrugged, tail flicking behind him. “I’m just here to help.”
Ruggie snorted, glancing at you with a grin. “This better be some damn good poetry then. And the food better be worth it.”
“Oh, trust me,” you said, patting Ruggie on the back. “It will be.”
Little did you know, this was going to be a disaster of epic proportions.
The poetry reading started as expected—with the heroine striding up to the front of the room, practically glowing under the dim spotlight. She cleared her throat, clasped her hands dramatically, and began.
“It was a night… much like tonight…”
Your first instinct was to cringe, but you held it in, glancing sideways at Jack and Ruggie. Jack was doing his best to stay stoic, but you could see his ears twitching in discomfort. Ruggie had his hand over his mouth, clearly biting back laughter.
The poem continued, painfully dragging on about stars and roses and something about “destiny’s kiss.” By the time she reached the end, there was a collective sigh of relief from the audience. You weren’t even sure what you had just listened to, but you knew it wasn’t good.
Jack… Jack was crying. You stared at him, horrified. “Are you okay?”
“It’s… it’s so bad,” he sniffed, wiping his eyes. “I didn’t know poetry could be this bad.”
Ruggie had his face buried in his hands, shoulders shaking with silent laughter. “This is better than I thought,” he wheezed.
You shot him a look, but even you had to admit, this was pure comedy gold. Poor Jack had no idea what hit him.
The villainess, bless her heart, was watching all of this unfold with a look of shock and confusion, but when it was finally her turn to read, she stepped up like a queen. Her voice was smooth, the words flowing like silk, and you couldn’t help but be genuinely impressed. She absolutely killed it.
The plan was working perfectly. You and your crew started clapping, cheering like you were at a rock concert. Jack, who was still recovering from the emotional trauma of the heroine’s poem, clapped too, albeit more quietly.
But just as you were about to get even louder, you felt a hand on your shoulder. “Oi, sit down,” Leona grumbled, pulling you back into your seat.
“What—?”
He didn’t offer any explanation, just kept you firmly seated next to him, his face set in a bored expression. You blinked in confusion but decided not to argue. It wasn’t like you didn’t enjoy sitting next to Leona… it was just weird.
And by the grin the villainess was sporting, it seems like everything went exactly according to plan. Both for her and you.
After the poetry reading wrapped up, you gathered the leftovers like you promised. Ruggie was already hovering around, practically drooling over the spread.
“Here, take it all,” you said, handing the basket over. “Deal’s a deal.”
Ruggie beamed, clutching the food to his chest like a treasure hoard. “Pleasure doing business with ya!”
Jack was much more polite, bowing his head slightly. “Thanks for the notes. They’ll be a big help.”
“Anytime,” you replied with a smile, watching the two of them head off. Ruggie was already halfway through a sandwich, talking a mile a minute, while Jack followed along, still looking like he might need therapy after the heroine’s performance.
That left you alone… with Leona, who had been standing off to the side, arms crossed, watching you with an unreadable expression.
“What?” you asked, half-expecting him to complain about something. He always had something to complain about.
“You mind explaining what the hell that was?”
“Uh… what do you mean?”
Leona’s tail flicked in irritation, his eyes narrowing. “I’m talking about you, whispering and giggling with that villainess all the time. What, you after her now that you ditched the heroine?”
You blinked at him, utterly baffled. “What? No, of course not. Why would I be after her?”
Leona’s jaw clenched. “You tell me. All I’ve seen is you hangin’ around with her, whispering, plottin’... I’ve seen how you look at her.”
It took a moment for your brain to catch up, but then it hit you like a ton of bricks.
Oh my god. He was jealous.
A slow grin spread across your face as the realization sunk in. Leona, Leona Kingscholar, was jealous. And over you.
Before you could stop yourself, you leaned forward and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. “You’re jealous~.”
Leona froze, his eyes widening for a split second before narrowing dangerously. “What?”
“You’re jealous,” you repeated, giddiness bubbling up inside you. You could barely contain your excitement. “You’re jealous of me hanging out with the villainess!”
Leona’s lips pulled into a thin line. “You’re imagining things.”
“Oh no, no, no,” you grinned even wider, poking him in the chest. “You’re totally jealous!”
Leona growled, looking thoroughly annoyed now, but before he could snap back, you quickly explained. “Look, I made a deal with her. I help her become more influential than the heroine, and she helps me… confess to you.”
Leona blinked, taken aback, his tail flicking behind him as if processing the information. Then, in true Leona fashion, his expression shifted from irritation to smugness in record time.
“Oh?”
You sighed, shaking your head. “Yeah, so you don’t have to worry about me chasing after anyone else.”
Leona stepped closer, his voice dropping low, that usual lazy drawl making your heart do a little flip. “Good. But just so you know, cheek kisses aren’t real kisses.”
Before you could ask what he meant, Leona leaned in and kissed you—properly kissed you. Your eyes went wide for a second before you melted into it, feeling the heat of his lips against yours. He pulled back after what felt like forever, a smirk on his face as he watched you try to catch your breath.
“There. That’s a real kiss,” he murmured, his voice dripping with smug satisfaction.
You stared at him, dazed, and then a sudden realization hit you.
You left your entire life behind, all for this moment.
And you were so, so glad that stupid plushie was on the floor, because this? This was totally worth it.
The heroine’s voice was as sweet as it was grating, like sugar poured directly into your ears. She fluttered her eyelashes at you, her smile stretched painfully wide. “So, I was thinking,” she began, twirling a lock of hair around her finger. “You would make the perfect knight for my family! Don’t you think so?”
You blinked, trying to figure out a way to escape. “Uh… I’m kind of busy with, you know, my own life?”
“Oh, but imagine!” she gushed, not hearing a word you said. “We’d be so close all the time—like, so close. You could protect me, and maybe… we could have a picnic under the stars? Very romantic, right?”
Your soul was trying to leave your body. You were pretty sure Jack’s ears twitched somewhere nearby, sensing your pain telepathically. And then, like a gift from the heavens, the villainess—your beloved accomplice in all things anti-heroine—made her appearance.
“Sorry to interrupt,” she said, stepping between you and the heroine with the grace of someone who had seen this movie before and knew exactly how to cut to the good parts. “But I need them for an urgent matter. A very important, not-at-all-romantic-but-very-necessary mission.”
You shot her a look of pure gratitude, but before she could fully rescue you from the heroine’s death trap of unwanted flirting, a shadow loomed over the scene. A very familiar shadow.
Leona.
Without saying a word, he strode up behind you and casually wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you back against his chest with an ease that had your heart skipping a beat. He rested his chin on your shoulder, his sharp green eyes fixed on the heroine.
“Oh no, carry on,” he said lazily, but his tone was anything but. “I’m just here to see what my mate is up to.”
The heroine blinked in shock, her hands hovering mid-air as if she had no idea what to do with this development. “Y-Your mate?”
“Yeah,” Leona said, tightening his grip around you, his smirk downright feral. “So whatever little fantasy you’re cooking up about romantic picnics or whatever—cut it out. This one’s mine.”
You felt Leona’s lips brush against your temple before he leaned in and, in full view of the now-utterly-horrified heroine, kissed the side of your neck. Slowly. Possessively.
You could almost hear the villainess muffling a laugh behind her hand.
The heroine’s face turned several shades of red as she stammered. “B-But I—”
“You,” Leona said, his tone dripping with amusement, “can fuck right off.”
The heroine gasped, her hand flying to her chest like she’d been physically struck. “You can’t just say that to me!”
Leona raised a brow, looking thoroughly unimpressed. “I’m literally the second prince. I can say whatever the hell I want.”
The heroine opened her mouth to argue, but then realized that, no, actually, she couldn’t argue with the literal second prince staking his claim. She sputtered for a moment before storming off, no doubt to sob dramatically about her dashed romantic hopes.
Once she was out of sight, the villainess finally let out a snort of laughter. “That was beautiful.”
Leona ignored her, his grip still firm around you as he leaned down to whisper, “Next time, you won’t need her to help you out. Just say my name, and I’ll be there to deal with the pests.”
You stared at him, a little dazed from the whole whirlwind of possessiveness, public displays of affection, and telling someone to ‘fuck right off.’ “You really went for it, huh?”
Leona smirked, leaning in for another kiss. “Damn right I did. And don’t you forget it.”
Somewhere behind you, the villainess was still giggling. You were pretty sure this was going to be gossip for weeks.
But honestly? Totally worth it.
Graduation day—the moment where everyone’s future plans would be declared, and all the chess pieces would fall into place. Or, in your case, the moment where you’d cause absolute chaos.
The grand hall was filled with eager anticipation. Everyone was dressed in their formal graduation robes, students buzzing with excitement over their new titles and responsibilities.
Leona, as expected, lounged at the back like a lion who had better things to do, half-asleep. Villainess stood tall and composed, already plotting her return to her family's estate. Heroine was in full glowing mode, ready to take her place as the beloved of the Grand Duchy.
And you? You stood at the podium, trying not to laugh. You knew what you were about to say would flip this graduation upside down.
One by one, people made their announcements.
When it was finally your turn, all eyes turned to you. The entire hall seemed to hold its breath, knowing the original male lead—you—was supposed to be the retainer of the heroine. It was all set, all according to plan, right?
Wrong.
You cleared your throat, glanced briefly at Leona who smirked lazily, and then made the declaration that would throw this script straight out the window. “I’ve decided to serve as Prince Leona’s right-hand man, personal secretary, and...well, whatever he needs.”
The silence that followed was glorious. Pure, dumbfounded silence.
King Falena, sitting in the front row, visibly blinked. Once. Twice. He tilted his head slightly, confusion written all over his usually composed face. “What?” he muttered, looking like someone just told him a desert hyena had enrolled in ballet school.
Leona, however, didn’t even open his eyes. He just smirked, crossing his arms smugly. “Told ya he’d choose me,” he murmured, almost too casually for someone who’d just stolen the original male lead’s entire plotline.
Falena’s gaze flicked between you and Leona, still processing. Then, slowly, realization dawned. He saw that look on Leona’s face—the one that said “mine, and I dare anyone to challenge it.” King Falena’s confusion morphed into surprise and then, with the subtlety of a royal diplomat, resignation. “Oh…” he whispered, finally understanding. “He’s down bad.”
Leona cracked an eye open just to catch his brother’s expression and grinned wider, like a cat who knew exactly what kind of bird it had in its claws.
Your parents, bless them, were in the crowd with expressions of supportive confusion. Your mother was squinting as if trying to work out if this was some sort of royal prank. Your father leaned in toward her, whispering loudly enough for the entire row to hear, “It’s a royal job, right? That’s prestigious?”
“Yeah, but… Leona?” your mom whispered back.
At this point, the heroine stood up, ready to throw a wrench into the works. “Wait! You’re supposed to be my—"
Before she could finish, the villainess, in all her dramatic glory, made her move. With the grace of a queen and the audacity of a mastermind, she stepped right up to the heroine, flipped her luxurious hair, and said, “Actually, I was going to ask you out.”
You blinked. Wait, what?
The entire room gasped. You could almost hear heads snapping toward the villainess like a collective whip crack.
Heroine’s mouth opened and closed like she was a fish drowning in air. “I—what?”
“Dinner. Candlelight. Maybe a picnic. You and me, a date. Sound good?” The villainess winked with such charm that even the professors in the back were wide-eyed.
Heroine blinked rapidly, as if trying to reboot her brain. “Uh… sure?” she squeaked, still reeling from the fact that her entire romantic arc had just gotten hijacked.
You stared at the villainess in pure confusion. “What just happened?” you whispered, looking at her for an explanation.
The villainess simply turned to you with a mischievous grin, giving you a sly thumbs-up like this had been part of her master plan all along.
You were still processing the fact that you were witnessing the greatest plot twist of all time. You returned a half-hearted, bewildered thumbs-up, unsure if this was a win or not.
Meanwhile, the professors up front were clearly on their last thread of patience. The head of the academy rubbed his temples, sighing deeply as if this whole day had aged him a decade. “That’s it,” he said, voice strained with exhaustion. “Everyone’s graduated. Just...leave. Please.”
And with that, the ceremony abruptly ended. You couldn’t help but laugh at the professor’s exasperation as the crowd started to disperse, still buzzing with gossip.
Leona slid up next to you, his hand casually resting on your waist as you walked out of the hall together. “So, my right-hand man, huh?”
You shrugged. “Figured I might as well make it official.”
Leona smirked, leaning down to murmur in your ear, “Just don’t expect me to go easy on you.”
You rolled your eyes, but your smile betrayed you. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”
And then he kissed you. In front of everyone.
King Falena, witnessing this public display of territorial claims, just shook his head with a resigned sigh. “Well, as long as it’s official…” he muttered, casting an approving glance toward you. “Congratulations, I guess.”
Your parents were still in shock, but when they saw that it was a royal seal of approval, they immediately switched gears. “A royal job!” your mom whispered excitedly. “That’s so prestigious!”
With that, Leona tugged you away from the chaos, his arm never leaving your waist as you walked toward the exit. You glanced back one last time to see the heroine still staring blankly at the villainess, who had now looped her arm around her like it was the most normal thing in the world.
The head of the academy, now red in the face, shouted after you as you reached the door, “I SAID EVERYONE GO, FOR THE LOVE OF THE GREAT SEVEN!”
You walked out into the sunlight, trying not to laugh, while Leona leaned in, his lips brushing your ear as he murmured smugly, “Looks like you’re stuck with me.”
And honestly? You wouldn’t have it any other way.
It was a day like any other, except you were meeting the villainess in her newly acquired estate. She had officially taken over as the head of her family, and the new title suited her all too well. The whole place screamed, I am in charge, with a side of don’t even think about challenging me unless you want to cry in public. You admired the aesthetic.
The villainess greeted you with her usual regal flair, sweeping into the room like she’d been born to dominate it—which, to be fair, she had. She offered you tea, which you politely declined, sensing that this wasn’t just a casual catch-up.
"So, what's new with you, Lady Villainess?” you asked, leaning back, fully expecting some grand declaration about her political conquests or business victories.
She smiled—a dangerous, knowing smile that made you immediately suspicious. "Well, I wanted to tell you something rather... unexpected."
You raised an eyebrow. Unexpected? Coming from her? That had to be good.
"I'm dating the heroine," she said casually, sipping her tea as if she hadn't just dropped the biggest plot twist since the whole 'villainess takes over' arc.
You nearly choked on absolutely nothing, mouth hanging open in sheer disbelief. "Wait. What?"
She smiled serenely, her expression the perfect picture of innocence—which made it all the more ridiculous. “Yes, darling. The heroine and I are officially a couple.”
You blinked. “The same heroine who couldn’t tell a poisoned apple from a regular one if her life depended on it?”
“The very same.”
“The one who gets lost in her own estate if she turns too many corners?”
“Yes, that one.”
You couldn't help it. The sheer absurdity of the situation hit you, and you burst out laughing. "Oh, that is rich. How in the world did that happen?”
The villainess leaned back, looking thoroughly pleased with herself. “Oh, it was simple, really. I realized I was always drawn to her... naiveté. And once I stopped trying to sabotage her every move, well, things just fell into place.”
You were still laughing, shaking your head in disbelief. “I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for you two, but this is the best thing I’ve heard in weeks.”
The villainess gave you a mock glare. “Don’t act so surprised. I’ve always had impeccable taste.”
“Oh, impeccable taste, huh?” you teased. “I just didn’t expect it to lead you straight to a walking ball of sunshine.”
“Well, someone needs to keep her from wandering into traffic.”
Still snickering, you stood up. “Alright, alright, I get it. You’re a saint for dealing with her.”
“I know,” she sighed dramatically, “but love makes us do ridiculous things.”
"Tell me about it," you muttered, still amused. You waved goodbye and promised to catch up later, your mind reeling from this new, absolutely hilarious development.
When you got back to the palace, you found Leona lounging in his usual spot, sprawled out on a couch like a lion that had just taken over the whole savannah. He barely glanced up as you walked in, already sensing the amused energy radiating off you.
“You’re grinning like an idiot,” he muttered, rolling his eyes. “What happened?”
You plopped down next to him, barely containing your laughter. “You won’t believe this. The villainess is dating the heroine now.”
Leona’s eyes flicked open, and for a split second, he looked like he didn’t believe you. Then, slowly, a smirk spread across his face as he processed the information. “You’re messing with me.”
“Nope. Dead serious. They’re a couple now. In love.” You leaned in, grinning. “The villainess—ice queen herself—is head over heels for Miss Pure Sunshine.”
Leona actually chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. “Well, I’ll be damned. Never saw that one coming.”
“I know, right? It’s the most chaotic thing ever, and I am living for it.”
Leona’s smirk turned into a full-on grin, which was rare enough to be considered a national treasure. He shifted, sitting up slightly. “You think we’ll get an invite to the wedding?”
You snorted. “Oh, you bet. I’m going to be front row just to see how she manages to keep the heroine from accidentally setting her own dress on fire.”
Leona’s laugh rumbled low in his chest, and he reached out, grabbing your wrist. “Come here,” he ordered, tugging you toward him.
“What? No, I’ve got work to do,” you protested weakly, but your protests didn’t mean much when he effortlessly pulled you into his lap.
“Work can wait. This is more important,” he grumbled, wrapping his arms around you in a possessive hug that made it very clear you weren’t going anywhere.
You sighed, leaning into him. “You just want to cuddle, don’t you?”
“I want you to stop running around and actually relax for once,” he retorted, resting his chin on top of your head. “Besides, it’s not like the kingdom’s gonna fall apart if we take a break.”
You rolled your eyes, but a smile tugged at your lips. “I should get a promotion. I’m basically doing all the work around here.”
Leona chuckled again, his grip tightening just slightly. “Yeah, well, don’t let Falena hear that. He might actually make you his advisor, and then I’ll never get any alone time with you.”
You snorted. “Oh please, you’d just kidnap me from work if that happened.”
“Damn right,” he muttered, his voice low and satisfied. “You’re mine, remember?”
You felt your heart do that annoying flutter thing as Leona’s possessive tone settled over you. Even when he was being a lazy lion, he made you feel like the most important thing in his life. It was comforting—and kind of hilarious, considering how little he cared about everything else.
The room fell into a comfortable silence, and for once, you actually allowed yourself to relax, leaning into Leona’s warmth. His arms tightened around you again, and you could feel the soft rise and fall of his chest as he started to drift off into a nap, his grip never loosening.
As you closed your eyes, you couldn’t help but think that, despite all the absurdities in your life—from slipping on a plushie to your best friend falling in love with her former rival—you wouldn’t trade any of it. Not for the world.
And as Leona’s breath slowed into the steady rhythm of sleep, you allowed yourself a small, contented smile.
Life was chaotic. But it was also perfect.

Love your works btw😉💋💖💖
Where's my Human? || Yandere Merman x Gn Kayaker Reader
Characters: Ranee
Summary: He gets so worried when you're not there to kayak
Warnings: Yandere themes, possessiveness, violence, stalking
A/n: Yeah that's how you spell it, I'm so happy you love him nonnie! He's my special merboy! And thank you! Also, mention of Malakai
꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦꒷꒦
Let's be real, Ranee has no concept of sickness or injuries. Fin rot is the closest thing he knows, and it's only common within pet fish. There are parasites and other ocean germs, but nothing like human sickness. So if you stop showing up for a while brings up so much concern. He straight up thinks you're dead. Though it takes a bit of build up for him to actually think of that conclusion.
The first day you don't show up to the beach, he just thinks you got busy. You usually don't come to kayak every day. That's something you told him when he freaked out the first time you didn't show up. Something about sore muscles. He was too focused on you when you told him so he didn't listen.
The second day is when he becomes a bit panicked. This is the stage where he starts swimming the coastline and asking other sea creatures that swim the coast about you. When they say they haven't seen you that's when his brain starts to spiral. Ranee just swims up and down the coastline for the next couple of days, watching the beaches for any sign of you in case you moved and forgot to tell him.
Then a thought comes to his mind, much to his distaste. Ranee thought and contemplated on visiting your human friend. One reason he was against it was because your human friend was trying to take you away from him. Didn't this human know that you were his mate? Beside the point, he didn't have you to guide him out once he swims in, and he's so easily lost.
After grumbling and pacing around in his sea cave to the nearest fish who have no clue what is going on, he decides to visit your human friend. He managed to remember the way there, you better praise him if you ever come back.
He groans as he sees your human friend on his dock of his very shiny home. Malakai prepares himself for any mischief Ranee has brought today but is caught of guard by the merman talking using the limited language he has. Malakai eventually catches your name in the merman's garbled up human speak and barely catches on.
“Oh, you mean Y/n? Yeah, they're sick right now. Texted me they won't be by the docks for a few days.”
Thus leads into Malakai trying to explain what sickness is to the very confused Ranee. After a few hours of body anatomy lessons Ranee comes to the conclusion that you are in fact dying. So the merman is trying to find any way to your home only to realize you don't live near any body of water.
A few more days of your absence leaves Ranee all mopy. Just invite him to your funeral okay? He couldn't live with himself if he didn't at least part with you properly. He's slumped over on a rock, holding the things he had taken from you. He peppered each in tiny kisses. Oh, gods please hear him and give your soul back to him. That's the leas they could do for torturing you like this!
All the fish that came past his cave would swim in and nibble on his skin. Sea lions and seals alike would come in to push him out of the cave. Ranee didn't want to come out to play like he usually does. Not without you!
His life is so meaningless without you. The seals were barking at him to come out of his cave until a ray had swam over. His mopy attitude switches when he gets news from the ray that it saw you back on your kayak and was paddling out in the open. Ranee is completely overjoyed that you were back.
Swimming as fast as his fins could take him, Ranee jumps out like a dolphin and tackles you into the water. You're startled and thrashing but Ranee's cold, scaly face calms you down. You can only chuckle at the merman's clingyness.
“You don't have to almost drown me if you want my attention every time, Ranee.”
He shakes his head as his tail coils around your legs. You shiver as you're pulled closer to his cold body. No way is he letting go. You worried the hell out of him! Making him think you were dead. Bad mate! He only hits the top of your head, scolding you in grumbles.
“Never allowed, fish sticks and fries.”
You were practically an expert in Ranee talk at this point. You came to understand that he was demanding you to stay and never leave him again for that long. As much as you wanted to comply with such a request, you were going to get sick again if you didn't get out of this cold water.
Begrudgingly did Ranee help you back onto your kayak and pushes you back to shore. When you're drying off on the dock, you tell him what happen and give him a better explanation of what happened.
You're now stuck on that dock, listening to Ranee talk about what he had done while you were gone. He gurgles at your praises when he told you he swam through the harbor all by himself.

I’ve been feeling really down lately so would you mind writing something real fluffy with either chris x reader or matt x reader and it’s about how playful they are together and they’re always teasing and tickling each other and stuff like that.
Just something real cute, love your writing btw!!
of course, honey <3 a/n at the bottom
playful!matt & playful!chris:
✨a concept✨
making dinner -
chris: definitely dancing around the kitchen and being exactly zero help. "come on," he yaps, grinning his cute stupid little grin, "dance with me, pretty girl, the pasta can wait." "chris!" you can't help but giggle at the kid. "wanna dance with my lady." his smile is almost too big for his face, and your heart feels tight.
matt: does everything he can to distract you while simultaneously assuming an air of utter and absolute innocence. "i don't know what you're talking about," he says, slipping behind you and pinching your side, rolling his eyes at what he believes is an incredible overreaction from you.
going thrifting -
chris: tries to scare you by hiding in the racks like you haven't been watching him the entire time, only to be disappointed when you're not startled in the slightest. "but...but..." he grumbles, hanging off your shoulders, arms wrapped dejectedly around your neck, "i tried so hard."
matt: "what do you mean, 'don't get the grand-dad shirt'? this is the peak of fashion!"
the shirt in question:
movie night -
chris: resorts to assailing you with tickling when he doesn't get his way. "i wanna - mmfh - watch The Lion - fuck! - King, so we're gonna fuckin' watch - you motherfucker - The Lion - GET BACK HERE!"
matt: keeps trying to drown his face in your tummy instead of watching whatever's put on the tv. "it's just so cozy." his words are incredibly muffled. "you begged me for three days to watch this with you." "mmfh. gimme head scratches." "you're such a baby." "i love youuuuu."
beach day -
chris: insists on playing mermaids ("wait how come you get the sparkly tail. i'm the merman king, i should get the sparkly tail."), lifeguards ("okay, okay, pretend you're like, drowning, yeah. why? so i can be a hero and save you! duh."), and terraforming the beach itself ("it'll be good for a tiktok, yeah, just dig the trench all the way up there by the towels, and then we can divert all the water away from here and-").
matt: hunts all morning for shells for you and teaches himself to braid so he can string them in your hair. he ends up tangling things more than he produces actual results, but is very careful to undo his mistakes and reapply sunscreen on your shoulders. "and here i thought you hated the beach." "i despise the beach," he says cheerfully, closing yet another ziploc baggie filled to the brim with shells. "can't wait to go home." "liar." matt smiles against your neck, his chest pressing into your back. "yeah, maybe."
farmer's market -
chris: conveniently forgets how much he hates fruits and vegetables because, "they just look so, like...anasthetic. that's the word right?" "nope." "anta...antacid? anna..." "aesthetic?" "that's the bitch, look at these strawberries, they're fucking huge-" "you let the strawberries nick bought last week grow mold in the fridge!" chris grins. "what's your point?"
matt: more focused on petting the dogs people brought with them than looking at the actual stalls with products/goods. "who's a good boy, yeah you are, hey babe we should get a dog, oh my god, you're just the sweetest lil' guy-"
night out:
chris: never lets you walk on the outside of the sidewalk and always stops to listen to the musicians through the bars' flung-wide windows. "baby, look, his guitar's got flames on the side. oh shit, you cold? hey, come here, kid," he chuffs, gathering you under his arm, dulcet harmonies flowing from the bar into the soft night air. "i love you," he murmurs, his lips fluttering against the shell of your ear. "i love bein' out here with ya."
matt: gently hands his finger from the belt loop of your jeans, guiding you lightly through the crowds, watching your face light up at the sights and sounds around you. "holy shit, they're so drunk!" "yeah," he says softly. he couldn't care less about a single other thing in this moment - how would he, when the sparkling neon of the nighttime scene washed over your features?
ice-cream date -
chris: plans to get something to share and refuses to hear anything to the contrary, grinning at all attempts to sway him. "yeah, she'll have - quit it - that one over there, please - i'll tickle you right here in public, i swear to god i will - yeah, thanks - miss lady you better watch it-" "...okay, this is pretty good." he scrunches his nose quite cutely in lieu of a verbal response, shoveling spoonfuls into his mouth.
matt: does literally everything he can to get you to make a mess just so he can do the cliche 'wipe ice cream from your lip' move. "i'm a classy guy, alright, leave me alone," he says with a grin.
cleaning day -
chris: CAUTION- may actually flat-out refuse. "we could just stay in bed though," he grumbles, holding your arm hostage. "we gotta cleannnn..." "nahhhh, come back to me." in a sudden burst of energy, he tugs you all the way back onto him, rolling you onto the mattress and under the blanket in one fell movement.
matt: shuffles your favorite playlist, turns it up, and dances with a feather duster you didn't even know he owned. "WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM?" "STOLE IT FROM NICK'S ROOM. COME ON, WE GOTTA DUST!"
grocery shopping -
chris: has a cart and a dream, and is infinitely more focused on you than actually locating the necessary items. "you want it? yes, mamas," he chuckles, "get whatever you want. yeah i mean it. that's what you want for dinner? okay," he shrugs, his downturned smile making his dimples show up and show out, "i'll make ya whatever you want."
matt: has a list and a plan, both of which quickly crumble as he finds it impossible to resist your impulse-purchasing. "no, baby, we gotta..." - long-suffering sigh - "we already have...yes we do, they're at home in your drawer...what do you mean, 'they're all gone', how did you...okay, well chris isn't SUPPOSED to eat your fucking snacks-"
vlogging -
chris: "okay guys, so i'm gonna take her to build-a-bear but it's gonna be a surprise so don't- HEY YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE OUT HERE YET-" the camera falls onto the couch as a blurry image of you and chris rolling around on the floor fades into view. his hat flies off and his weird, goofy laugh fills the living room.
matt: "hey guys >:|" "tell them :)" "i'm fuckin' getting there. so i said last time that i would never do this stupid wheel of punishments again, but someone convinced me-"
makeup/facials -
chris: "this feels colllld. i'm only doing this cuz i love u. what's this one supposed to do? the last one said it was gonna clean out my pores or something, and this one...'just looks cute', huh? i'm gonna fUCKING-" he launches off his bathroom counter and tackles you onto his bed in a flurry of kisses and tickles
matt: "i think i look great with eyeliner actually. what is it larray says, cunty? do i look cunty? why are you laughing?"
cuddle time -
chris: "absolutely not. come here mamas. you're not goin' anywhere, it's rainin' outside, an' i know you're still tired...come on, i miss ya already..." he smiles as you oh-so-reluctantly nestle back into the covers he holds up for you. "atta girl. stay here til' you die." "chris what the fuck." "that was romantic!" "...sure it was honey. sure it was." his laugh makes you roll your eyes, but the peppered kisses that follow make you smile in spite of yourself. "i love you...you know that, right?" "i had an idea, yeah." he tugs you into his body with a playful growl. "shut up."
matt: simply locks his legs around yours so you couldn't leave even if you wanted to. he traces lazy shapes on the back of your hand and his breath fans down over your neck. "miss girl..." "hm?" "were you aware that i loved you?" "ohmygoddoyoureally?" matt's hold tightens and his low chuckle rumbles through your skin. "you're terrible."

Dad!John Price/female reader The Ocean anthology Note: The orcas mentioned in this series are based on a real population. Coolest things on this planet.
The strait is quiet.
Fog rolls across glass, painting grey sea smoke on top of clear, hyaline waters, mirror images cast from horizon to cliff. It’s a prehistoric stillness, the kind that’s sung low in the belly of this passage for millions of years, volcanos and glaciers all doing their worst, their best, to shape and carve this land to be as it’s known now.
Granitic wall looms above and below, plummeting into the earth beneath you until the water is too deep to see where it ends and hell begins, water and plants and light refracting into a teal green color. painting the pitch something most only see in magazines. It stretches tall too, forms the base of the islands, of all the land that flanks the strait, and you have to crane your neck to see where rock ends and soil begins.
It’s a marvel onto itself, but you’re not here for the geology.
Where are they?
Your paddle dips, pushes, forging a path through the quiet, preternatural stillness, wrists to ribs moving with hypnotic pace. Left, right, left, right. Dig. Dip. Your lungs burn, muscles ache, and still you paddle, up and down the coast, maintaining your determined pace in the face of exhaustion, forcing yourself past the brink of logic and reason, as always, in the pursuit of passion. You focus on your breath, on the cold, settling it in your bones, falling into the beautiful rhythm that is paddling, cold sea spray dripping down to your gloves.
It’s easy to get lost in the quiet of the water. The fog and the cliffs crowd inwards, silent watchers of a sacred place, protectors of a balance long disturbed and derailed everywhere else in this world. Your paddle strokes in perfect time, kayak cutting through the eerie mists and propelling you forward, focus fixed on the horizon, looking, listening. Waiting. You simmer in the silence, straining to hear the telltale blow of air, the signal of surfacing.
Nothing comes.
Where are they?
Salmon jump in front of the kayak, shattering the serenity in their wriggling flight.
The residents elude you. You say good morning to an otter, a sea lion the size of two men, some curious Dall’s porpoise, but are left bereaved at the noticeable absence of the pods.
It’s the first day. It’s okay, it’s only the first day.
The alarm on your watch goes off, just as the lighthouse, affectionately named Little Rock, looms ahead, faded and chipped green paint calling you back to the cove, a glacial breeze whipping under your goretex and neoprene, cutting to the quick, right down to flesh and bone.
Time’s up.
“Did you see them?!” Aly bounces on her toes at the edge of the dock, running alongside the pace of your paddling.
“No.” Your tone is light, but you don’t hide the disappointment, and she smiles sadly, sympathetically. What a smart kid.
“I’m sorry.”
“That’s okay.”
“Are you coming in now?” You nod, motioning to the beach, and she skips ahead, running down the steps onto where millions of little pearled rocks give way under her feet, echoing the same as you run the fiberglass bottom of your kayak aground, popping your legs out on either side.
“I know you wanted to see them.” Her eyes are wide and a little fearful. You frown.
“I’ve got all year, I’ll see them. Don’t worry.” The assurance is tepid, but present, and she shrugs.
“You should ask my dad. He knows where they are a lot.”
“Oh yeah?” You could try. She nods, excited, shiny dark braids gleaming in the mid-morning sun. You glance around, looking for an adult, or someone who accompanied here down here, but there’s no one, and you chew on it, pulling your boat higher up than the tide will reach today. “Shouldn’t you like, be in school or something?”
“I do school online.” She rolls her eyes, gap tooth grin stretched across her face. “It’s for gifted kids but I always finish early.”
“Does your dad know you’re running around this place unsupervised?” She shakes her head, and then sobers, glancing towards the woods.
“I’m not unsupervised.” What? You look the same direction, but all you see is the shadow of the forest, darkness so thick you’re not sure you could see your way in broad daylight.
A chill traces your spine, ice cold and cautious, slow in its discovery, pressing against your skin like it’s moving under your clothes. You gasp, whirling and-
There’s nothing. Only the lapping of the tide, the gentle waves that rake through the shore. Your beached boat. Remnants of the morning’s mists.
Must’ve been the wind.
The Ranger’s daughter giggles. You raise an eyebrow, and then motion up the hill.
“Want to head back with me then?”
“Aly!” The Ranger’s voice reaches you, even a hundred meters away. She sprints ahead of you, and your stomach twists, iced over fear spreading through your veins.
He’s going to freak. He already hates you and now he’s going to think you kidnapped his kid or something.
“Where have you been?”
“Down at the water.” She kicks a rock, beaming. One of his too wide palms sweeps over her forehead, moustache and lips kicking to the side with a sigh.
“Not supposed to be down there on your own, remember?”
“I wasn’t.” She stands tall with her insistence, and proudly points at you. “I was with her.”
John straightens. He stares at you with a scrutiny that you’ve never felt, an intense pressure building behind your eyes, in your thighs, incinerating all the muscle in your body until you’re sure to explode.
The silence is painful, and Aly hops from one foot to another.
“You find ‘em?” There’s no softness in his eyes for you, only a hard edge, hand coming to rest on his daughter’s shoulder.
“No.” You think he’ll turn away then, drift away in the wake of this encounter, but he holds you steady there, caught between him and the earth, crushing weights on either side. It’s unnerving, this stranger, this Ranger, a moon to a tide, and you swallow when he finally speaks, it’s with that rich timbre, the accent that twists you up in boundless knots.
“They make you earn it.”
“You should sleep with your window open.” Aly pipes up, and John’s mouth twitches.
“You can hear them in the cove, in the middle of the night.” He explains. “They hunt and play in the shallow off the beach pretty often. Though it’s too cold to be sleeping with your window open.” The last piece is serious, like a warning, but you’re already vibrating with anticipation, attention fixed through the trees, like you can see down the hill to the harbor.
When you turn back, John is watching you. Hard muscle and tone turned dulcet, there’s less shadow in his eyes, replaced by something wild, willful.
There for a second. Gone in the next.
“Well I’ve… work to do.” Paltry effort. It sticks in your mouth the way this man has stuck to your mind, lurking and wandering, leaving you wondering what he's doing on the other side of your bedroom wall, your living room. Wondering what he’s like, what he’s really like, under the clipped and caustic words, the churlish airs swirling around him whenever he lays eyes on you. He’s the definition of surly, and the reluctance to interact with you stings, even though you shove it down. Secrets lay beneath his ribs, you have no doubt, protected by his thick coat and wide frame, a mass of tenured muscle and strength visible under the heaviest wool.
He nods.
You turn your back.
"Leave a note, when you're goin' out." He's got Aly in hand, halfway up his side of the porch, breath fogging in the space between your bodies. "Shouldn't be out alone, without anyone knowing, alright?"
Leave a note.
"Alright."

They're like... the one thing he needs. They actively just cling cause theyre babies all they know is he's dad. He can't DO anything to them cause like?? they really don't know better, he knows this he's checked their systems, their almost blank slates (good for him but now hes gotta teach them). Which he blames on moons computer when he made the backups. He's having family thoughts and this is a good distraction to it while also still... being about it. Man's unable to escape his own thoughts.
OH STOPP THE CUTE OLD LADY HE HELPS...
'they had a skin condition-' SBDKJS MA'AM... i mean at least he was nice to her. Also Sun and Moon just '....single FATHER?? no way.'
Solar '...Ah.' just peicing it together but also just wincing at knowing sun and moon (and esp lunar) would hate that info.
Eclipse wont admit hes wrong ever but ironically just kinda... avoiding making the same mistakes with the babies. (dfbJKFS OF COURS EHE THINK ABOUT CAT FOR MONOLOGUING PLEASE..)
I don't know why but seeing Eclipse come back all I could think of was about your Baby Back up Au. Which is awesome on a cosmic scale; but only what happened was Eclipse survived somehow, came back, the backups activated and he's been being a dad for the last few months.
Only the babies ended up escaping and got in the Pizzaplex. His whole monologue was him getting busted mid search and because he IS Eclipse of course he has to be himself and give long winded speeches. While internally screaming.
He walks into Sun and Moons room, finds his babies napping while Moons losing it and then just NOPES outta there.
BDS SJKS HELP I LVOE THAT I NEEDED TO DRAW IT IMMEDIATELY...
the fact his defense mechanism is MONOLOGUES AND NOT... U KNOW... PRETNEDING TO BE SOLAR AND JUST ILL BE RIGHT DOWN... TOTOALLYU.. BUT GBSDKJD him just finding them and noping out like bros just outted himself hes not outting the babies (altho they find way.) i didnt see the last line cause immediate drawing so this was an alternate end:

when he walks in…
A few things… there is some Lucifer slander but that should be expected as he is the devil from da bible.
Also a few references to Paradise Lost. How can you write bible fanfics (or anything about Luci) without referencing the OG bible fanfic.
Sera is also a big part of this but I want to think that she was kind before the exterminations.
Also my interpretation of eve.
And Adam is so Ooc but there is still bits and pieces. I definitely headcanon that he wasn’t always a misogynistic prick but was spoiled because he never ate the apple.
And finally (Y/n) is used to refer to reader but it’s completely gender neutral.
Your purpose was to keep Lucifer busy so that he wouldn’t go out seeking Lilith.
The first memory you had was blurry and the conversation you overheard was fuzzy but you’re sure it was about you.
“I don’t want an angel I want the human woman.” A man shouted.
“You don’t want an angel, fine!” A woman replied as if trying to calm a toddler throwing a tantrum. A slight sting came from your back, feathers flew around you.
“Oh really? How’re they going to get around without wigs, Sera?” There was a triumphant tone in the man’s voice. “Face it, they can’t live here if they’re human but they can’t be down there because it’s supposed to be just a single man and a single woman, and if they have wings they’re an angel so I don’t want THEM!!”
“Fine!! You know what!! They’ll bleed red like the humans do but I’ll give them the wings of an insect. They’ll be like nothing or no one else. Will that make you happy. A being not quite human but most definitely not an angel.” You felt your skin contort and mutate as Sera molded and shifted your flesh.
“You want me to be with some hideous monster? No. Sera, no! I love Lilith. She’s just the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”
“Lucifer stop! She is Adam’s wife. You can have my new creation.” Sera pushed you forward and the first thing that properly came into your vision was the short man with blond hair and rosy cheeks.
“Get that freak away from me!” He shouted and ran off.
“Did I come out wrong?” Sera’s heart almost broke as you said those words.
“No Darling. You’re perfect. Just give him time.”
He never came back after that. News that he had taken Lilith away swept the city behind the pearly gates.
“Did I do something wrong Sera?”
“No darling. He never gave you a chance. Come on now. We should get back to work.”
“is that all I’m good for? Work work work! I have to run around maintaining balance for people who don’t even care about me, and all because Lucifer didn’t choose me. Where’s my choice?”
“What do you want to do then?” She groaned.
“I heard that a new bride was made for Adam. He named her Eve. I also heard that Raphael was going to visit them, can I go with? Please?” Sera smiled at you.
Sera nodded. “If you want to oversee the garden you may.”
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!!”
“Go get ready, it’s quite muddy down there so you should probably change out of your white clothes!”
It was so green down there. “Hi! I’m (Y/n). Sera made me.”
“Who’s Sera?” A beautiful girl with dark brown hair and tan skin asked. She had big brown eyes and was of shorter stature.
“Doesn’t matter right now. Who are you?” You said with curiosity. A taller man wrapped his arms around the woman.
“Back off! I already had one angel steal my first wife. I’m not letting Eve slip away so easily.”
“Yes that’s actually what we came to talk about.” Raphael had said.
////////////////////////////////////////
After explaining what had happened with Lucifer to the humans Raphael had left. Eve wandered off halfway through the story leaving you with Adam.
“So…” he started, leaning back on his hands.
“I have so many things I want to ask you! First off, what was Lilith like?” You sat next to him, your knees against your chest.
“Prideful and lazy. I told her over and over again that we needed to grow food for keep the lions from killing the lambs but all she wanted to do was lounge on the beach.”
“Next question. What’s life like down here?”
“It’s… great actually. Other than the slight of having Lilith taken. Eve’s just fantastic though, she listens to everything I ask of her. I always got the feeling that Lilith hated being made for me and she wanted to be her own person. So her leaving is whatever. I wouldn’t want to be told that my only purpose was to be made for someone else’s sake.”
“I was made for someone else and I was fine with it.”
“I feel like Eve’s like that. She was made from my rib ya know. I let her do whatever she wants when she feels like it so she doesn’t get suffocated and leave me too. I love her so fucking much. Trust me, when she gets back I’ll ask her to tell you about all her favorite fruits. You’ll love her as much as I do.”
“What is freedom like? What is it like to live for yourself? You and Eve get to don’t you?”
“Yeah. We still have our duties in the garden but she’s always so excited to help. Do you not have freedom?”
“Not particularly. Sera keeps me pretty busy. I live her her rules, her will alone.”
“Was she the one who you were made for?”
You look away bashfully. “No, I was made for Lucifer so he could stop obsessing over Lilith.”
“Well, thanks for failing. I wouldn’t have Eve if he gave up on Lilith.”
“That actually makes me feel a little better.”
“Hey are you always so obedient to that Sera chick?”
“I have to be. She created me and I must honor her rules and orders above all else.”
“You seem tense. How many rules do you have?”
“Too many to count.”
“We only have one rule here.”
“Don’t eat the apple from the forbidden tree.” You and him say in unison.
“I know.” You look away. “Adam. Promise me one thing.” You look back at him with a desperate look in your eyes. “No matter what you do you have to follow that one rule okay? No matter if you’re starving, no matter if Eve is being threatened. You can never break that rule. Not even if Eve does. Tell her too, okay. Not if she’s starving. Not if you’re being threatened. I already lost my purpose in life because the man I was made for broke the rules and got kicked out. Promise me that you will never break this one simple rule.”
“Okay! Geez, you’re kinda dramatic. I’ll go tell Eve.” He stood up and walked away.
“You’re purpose in life huh? Don’t be so dramatic!” A voice from behind you called out.
“You can’t be here! HE forbid it.”
“HE can’t tell me what to do anymore.”
“HE still loves you. Just apologize for what you did and we can go home.”
“I’m never going back. And I’m never going to be with you! So just take your disgusting SELF AND GO AWAY!!”
“Am I not good enough?”
“NO!!”
“Adam!?” You called out to him surprised at his sudden outburst.
“Eve!” Lucifer shouted worriedly as you both rushed to where the cry came from.
“WHAT DID YOU DO!! (Y/N)!! HELP!! We can fix this… WE CAN FIX THIS RIGHT??!!”
“What happened?” You asked trying to calm Adam down.
“I’m sorry. They said I didn’t know what I was doing. They said I was ignorant. I was. I was so stupid.”
“…What did you do Lucifer?”
“I showed her the truth. The truth that all of you were trying to hide.” He smirked triumphantly. However his smile faded as lightning struck behind him. The winds picked up. The sky darkened with rain clouds rolling in.
“Eve just apologize. Just say you made a mistake. HE is very forgiving. Please.”
“But it’s their fault! They tricked me! I’m not the one to blame! It was them! It was him!” She tried to reason.
“No no no! Just apologize! Eve just apologize! You won’t be in trouble. Just own up to your mistakes and ask for forgiveness!” You tried to persuade.
“Eve just do it!” Adam demanded.
“You eat it. We can do this together.” She pleaded.
“I… I can’t.”
“What’s the big deal? It’s just a stupid apple. Now she can be more informed about her own life.” Lucifer shouted.
“it was their one rule! Why couldn’t you just mind your own FUCKING business!” You shouted at him. “I wasn’t good enough so you had to have Lilith! I thought maybe, just maybe, now that he’s happy I could move on! I was ecstatic when I saw them! I thought overseeing them would bring me a sense of purpose! But no! You had to mess that up for me too!”
“Do you honestly think that I give a shit about you?! That for one moment I thought about YOU!?” Lucifer laughed in your face. “That’s utterly pathetic!! YOU’RE pathetic!!”
“You shut up! They’re great! They’re kind and they actually want to protect us!!” Adam yelled as he held Eve.
No matter what kind word he said, Lucifer’s words stung like nothing else. Tears flowed from your eyes.
“You know what? Fuck you Lucifer!” You shouted and ran away.
////////////////////////////////////////
You hadn’t thought about that for nearly 5 decades. Then a certain brunette walked up behind Sera. He was rounder and dressed in white and gold robes. “Little darling. I’d like you to meet Adam, the first man.”
“We’ve met. Hi!” You waved.
“Hey teeny.” He smiled.
“Hey! I’m not short! You grew since the last time I saw you! I wasn’t this small when I-” You cut yourself off.
“When we first met, I know.” He smiled softly. But his smile drop as he spoke next. “She’s gone. He succeeded in taking her away from me. I thought you’d like to know.”
“Adam, I’m sorry. I should’ve-”
“Hey. I’m here because of you. You saved me. You tried to save her.” He cut you off and wrapped you in a hug. “Sorry. I just need this.”
“Take as long as you need.” You hugged him back.
////////////////////////////////////////
“Ugh! Those dumb fucking whores!” Adam shouted.
“What’s wrong now?” You groaned. Adam had gotten an attitude after he made it into Heaven.
“It’s that short fucking clown and the whore he left you for! Those skanks had a baby! She was such a lazy prude when she was with me but apparently she couldn’t keep her fucking legs closed and put out for that ugly little shit!”
“Hypocrite. You‘ve been having sex with pretty much anything that moves.”
“Okay but the difference is that I actually populated the earth like I was suppose to. She was created to be the mother of all humans yet she goes off and makes hell-spawn instead.”
“Are you feeling insecure?” You teased.
“No! Fuck you, bitch!” You giggled as he pouted.
“Hey! I just had an idea how we can get back at them.”
“How?”
“We get married.”
“WHAT THE FUCK?!” He blushed. “We can’t do that!”
“Why not? If you’re not into me or you don’t want to give up sleeping around then you can just say so. But it would say to the brat downstairs that he isn’t the only one who can swoop in and steal away someone else’s lady. And it would prove to our Ex that we aren’t still thinking about each other.”
“But we are.”
“They don’t have to know that.”
“If we do this you’re taking my awesome dick every night.”
“Deal, you big horny crybaby.” You kissed the tip of his nose.
The news of the spur wedding rocked the pearly gates and all seven rings of Hell. All except the palace of the pride ring. They all couldn’t care less.
////////////////////////////////////////
It’s been a few months since you two got married. You sat brushing your husbands wings.
“Hey babe?” He turned to you slightly.
“Yes?”
“…do you think that I’m a good person?”
“Why do you ask?”
“…I feel like everyone always pities me because of my exes. They always say how I’m so good for listening. Does that make me a good person?”
“Sometimes you can be a bit misogynistic.”
“You get paid more than me! Why do I always have to pay for supper!?”
“Because you barely ever let me choose where we eat.” You tease.
“Spicy food makes me sick! I don’t want to be stuck on the toilet for three hours just because of your freakishly high tolerance.” He pouts.
“It’s also gentlemanly to pay. Besides you insist on getting burritos from that one place twice a month. …why do you ask anyway?”
“Sera’s got this dumb idea. It’s got me thinking about what makes a good person.”
“I wouldn’t know, I was created to follow rules. If I didn’t, I’d fall like Lucifer.”
“We had one rule. Then everything changed when Kane killed Able. I don’t even know if I’m a good person.”
“I think killing is back, harming children is also bad, sexual abuse is also bad. All these things are very purposeful though. People like that don’t change, but you changed. You used to sleep around and now you’re committed to me and you seem much happier.
“Can sinners change?”
“Not all obviously, but if they wanted to maybe.”
“I love you.” He whispered.
“I love you too baby.” When he walks in I am loved… I am loved.

A key pressed into your palm. A gentle hand on your lower back. A whispered demonstration, keeping your secret.
Shanks stared at you through the doorway, looking down the hall before grabbing your chin with his thumb, another slow smile on those lips.
“Sweet dreams.”
His eyes crinkled as all you could do was nod, watching him walk away down that lantern lit hall.
The key still held the warmth of his skin.
Fuck.
The metal thumped onto wood as you tossed it on the desk, shoving the chair under the doorknob, just like he’d shown you.
Exhaustion pulled you down, and you rolled yourself into soft blankets, grateful that your mind only had the energy for a few more conflicting thoughts before sleep took you.
He’s done everything he can to make me feel safe.
He’s a pirate.
His crew are all so kind, it feels like they’re a family.
He’s a pirate.
He’s gorgeous, and funny, and sweet, even though he’s annoying as fuck.
But he’s a pirate. And he’ll be leaving in three days. I’ll never see him again.
Dreams of life on the high seas left you foggy in the morning, panic running through you until you remembered where you were.
Thank gods there’s a bathroom in here.
The guest quarters didn’t have a shower, but the toilet, mirror, and sink were a godsend. Cringing at your hair, you got to work, managing to tame it before you climbed back into Shanks’ clothes.
They smell like him.
Resisting the urge to sniff his shirt took more willpower than you’d like to admit.
Quiet.
There was hardly a sound on the entire ship as you struggled to remember the way out.
“Mornin,” came a gruff voice on the deck, waving from his perch on the railing. The light of the sunrise made his brown skin and dark blonde dreads seem to glow.
You would have thought he was attractive if your eyes hadn’t gone wide at the two large pistols on his hips.
“You’re up early,” he continued, tilting his body and moving his hands away from his weapons.
“Fisherwoman,” you choked out.
“That’s right,” he laughed, standing to take a few slow steps toward you. “I’m Yassop. I can bring you down to the beach if you’d like, but I'm sure everyone’s still snoring like sea lions.”
“Is the captain down there?”
“Oh, he’s down there,” Yassop teased, his smirk making you clench your teeth. “Yours might be the only face that could wake him up this early.”
“And why’s that,” you growled, following him across the deck.
“Oh no, I’m not getting into the captain’s business.”
You scowled at the chuckling marksman all the way down to the beach.
~
“Wake up.”
Shanks whined, weakly batting away the driftwood stick you were poking into his chest. You definitely weren’t getting distracted by the pull of those muscles as he stretched on his makeshift hammock.
The camp looked just as it did last night, except that every mug, plate, and pirate was now on the ground, quiet and still besides the orchestra of snores that Yassop hadn’t exaggerated.
“Get up.”
Shanks rubbed his hand over his face, somehow managing to look stunning even as he struggled to get his eyes open.
“Ugh, fish girl,” he yawned, keeping his hand over his eyes now, blocking out the light. “Are we under attack?”
“What? No. I need to talk to you.”
He peeked through his fingers at you, the hint of that teasing smile already showing.
“If you wanna spend time with me, all you have to do is– ow!”
Another quick jab to those lovely pecs had Shanks rolling out of the hammock, hanging onto your shoulder as he wobbled on his feet.
The driftwood stick fell to the ground as his pretty eyes, heavy lidded with sleep, came so close to yours.
“Sorry,” he rasped, letting his hand trail down your arm before letting you go. “Somebody woke me up too early.”
“I guess pirates are just lazy degenerates after all,” you said flatly, holding in the shivers his touch had caused.
“Degenerates,” he laughed softly, rubbing along his brow as he took in the sight of his hungover men sprawled across the sand. “I suppose that’s fair.”
Groaning, you picked up the stick, gasping as his hand gripped yours. He trapped your fingers around the dry wood, tracing his thumb along your knuckles as he prevented you from poking him.
“Please, fish girl, have pity on an old–” he cut himself off at your frown, “on a handsome, young, very hungover pirate.”
He chuckled as you tried to wrest yourself from his grasp, and he didn’t let you go this time.
“I can’t think this early, love. Not without breakfast, or a shower at least.”
“Fine, let's go take a– I mean you! You take a shower! You’re all sandy…”
His laughter followed you as you stomped your way back to his stupid ship.
~
Shanks’ laughter had been replaced by more whines as he held his hand over his eyes, getting you lost in the ship on the way to the bathing room.
Finally at the large door to that tiled room, the shaky captain spun to face you. He managed to catch himself on the door frame as he stumbled, then leaned against it as if it were on purpose.
You rolled your eyes as he pulled a scarf from his pocket, dangling it in front of your face.
“Guard the door for me?”
“What? Why?”
“Guess I’ll just go back to slee–”
“Fine,” you said through gritted teeth, grabbing the scarf as you slid to the floor. “Aren’t you too tired to be this annoying?”
“Not in the slightest.”
You could feel him crouch beside you, and saw his feet beneath the blindfold.
He traced around the scarf to check your work, rubbing his thumb along your temple before tugging the fabric further down your nose.
“No peeking,” he purred, and you hoped he hadn’t seen your toes curling, your feet still bare without clean shoes.
“Like I’d want to.”
“Lying is bad for the soul, fish girl,” he teased, tapping the tip of your nose with a finger before heading inside. The sound of his satisfied laughter made you want to crawl out of your skin.
Sitting there, listening to the rush of water as this man showered on the other side of the door, was making you absolutely insane.
He’s a pirate. He’s here for a reason. I can’t get distracted.
“Sorry, I forgot to bring a change of clothes,” his deep voice poured through the door. “Someone interrupted my beauty sleep.”
“So?”
“So, I’m in a towel, we’ll have to stop by my quarters. You can keep the blindfold on if you like.”
“You’ll get us lost again,” you complained, pushing yourself to your feet as you pulled the scarf from your face. “Besides, your shirts show practically your whole torso anyway, so it won’t be much different.”
The door opened wide, Shanks’ smile even wider as your lips parted.
“You really like my shirts, don’t you?”
You managed to frown at him as he grabbed his sandy clothes and shoes, holding them against his hip, just a towel around his waist.
And that line of dark, red hair.
“Mind closing the door for me, darlin’?”
You jolted out of your stupor, shutting the door before following him down the hall.
Some water still dripped from his hair, slow rivulets flowing down the muscles of his upper back, some trailing even further…
“What,” you chirped, trying to remember what he’d just said.
He clicked his tongue a few times, shaking his head to let more shining drops of water dance down his skin.
“Waking the captain up early just to ignore him? Did all your manners fall off your boat with your missing oar?”
“Shut up,” you huffed, standing to face him in front of the door to his quarters.
Shanks was not doing well at suppressing his self satisfied grin, and you were having trouble focusing on anything at all.
“Will you get the door for me, love?”
“Why,” you countered, still trying to keep your eyes glued to his face.
“You really argue about everything, don’t you?”
He shook his head, then dropped his clothes and shoes to the floor. The sound of the shoes startled you, bringing your eyes down.
Just in time to see his towel slipping, more of that dark red hair traveling down before you squeaked, turning around and clamping your eyes shut.
Shanks brushed past, the heat of his body, the scent of his skin, so close. He paused behind you as he opened the door, and you couldn’t hide your small gasp as he breathed that deep, dangerous voice along your neck.
“Guess you should have kept the blindfold on.”
You held your breath as you tried not to shake, listening as he moved away. Soft chuckles teased you through the air as he shut the door.
Breath came back to you, heavy, and too loud, as you turned to find his clothes and the damp towel on the ground.
It had just happened, but the memory of him breathing on your skin with nothing on his own sent heat twisting in your core.
He’s a pirate. He’s leaving. I’ll never see him again.
Shanks came out with a smirk, the shirt he’d chosen today not tucked or buttoned at all, just the sleeve tied off at his missing arm.
“What’s the point of wearing a shirt at all,” you huffed, taking the change of clothes he offered.
“Because you seem to enjoy it so much,” he called through the door as you changed.
It felt like your head was about to explode with all the shit he was doing to you. It was embarrassing, and you had to focus.
You crossed your arms when you faced him in the hallway, trying to shut down every part of your brain that wanted to fucking giggle when he looked at you.
“What are you–”
“That color looks good on you,” he hummed with a crooked smile, tugging the rolled up fabric of his shirt at your elbow.
You stuttered, but he turned on his heel.
“W-Wait!”
“Let’s talk over breakfast.”
That stupid red hair walking away almost made you scream.
~
The Red Hair Pirates were in various stages of wakefulness now, but many were already drinking, laughing, and singing as if the night had never ended.
Shanks moved through them with an effortless joy, clasping hands, patting backs, laughing and joking with every crew member that wasn’t still passed out.
That dingy table. Mismatched chairs. Surprisingly good food.
A knee that kept brushing against yours, rubbing along your thigh everytime he turned to talk to you.
He was pushing all the boundaries. And you’d let him. You pulled him in last night, and now he was playing, testing, torturing you.
But you knew he would stop if you asked.
How can I trust someone so fast?
“You wanted to talk about something,” he asked, leaning back after his last bite.
His wicked grin made you regret asking to speak in private.
~
Warm sand slowly shook from your feet as you crawled over rough stone. Shanks whined a few more times after you led him away from camp, but soon he was walking beside you, with another breathtaking smile. Now and then over the gentle waves, you swore you heard him humming the notes to a song.
“Y/N, look at this one,” he laughed, pointing to another tide pool.
You sat on the rock beside it, the hint of a smile on your lips as he joined you.
So close.
“So what did you wanna talk about,” he asked, voice still soft like those soothing waves. He reached out to hand you a little stone he’d picked up.
The warm stone fell into your palm, helping you stay present as you rolled it between your fingers.
“What are you doing on my island,” you questioned, finally meeting those pretty eyes. “You said you have business here, and I need to know that you aren’t endangering my home.”
“Endanger–,” he cut himself off with a laugh, his brows furrowing as he shook his head at you. “You didn’t need to make up excuses if you wanted to spend the day with me, fish girl.”
“Shut up,” you growled, fighting not to let his annoying charms distract you this time. “You’re pirates. You said you had business on this side of the island for three days. What are you doing here?”
“I did say ‘business,’ didn’t I,” he mused, nodding to himself before looking across the beach.
“Well,” you pushed, struggling as he met your eyes, his face so relaxed, amused.
“This is it,” he gestured vaguely, his crooked smile giving you a headache.
“What do you mean? You mean your business is here, at this beach?”
“No, Y/N,” he rasped, grabbing your hand and squeezing it, the little stone pressing into your palm. “This is it.”
He nodded toward the camp, and let out a sigh.
“We’re on vacation.”
This smile of his made him look like a little kid that got caught stealing sweets. You blinked at him.
After a long pause, he took his hand from yours, bringing it to your chin to push your mouth closed.
“Don’t fucking mess with me.”
Your voice came out rough as you pushed yourself back, almost slipping into a tide pool as you stood.
“I swear I’m not messing with you,” he let out with a small groan as he stood. He moved in close before he wobbled his head back and forth. “Well, I’m not messing with you about that.”
“Fuck you,” you seethed, head going foggy with the overwhelming flood of emotions from the last day.
Shanks moved in slowly with his arm outstretched as if he were trying to calm a frightened animal. Or a child.
And you acted like a child, frustrated tears burning in your eyes, hitting your fists against his chest as he got too close.
“Stop lying to me! Please don’t hurt people here, please don’t–”
“Shh, shh,” he hushed you gently, somehow managing to hold you against him with one arm, your hands shaking between your warm bodies.
“We’re not here to hurt anyone. I swear on my life, and the lives of my crew. All we wanna do is relax until we have nothing left to drink. Then we’ll buy up all the booze your village has to sell, and be on our way. Plus food and whatnot, but–”
Your ragged breaths brought that spicy scent of him into your lungs, your forehead falling against his chest as you started to calm. A bit.
“Are you telling me,” you growled against his skin, “that you took me hostage while you all go on a three day bender?”
You felt his laugh as he held you to him, resting his cheek on your head for a moment before releasing you.
“We didn’t take you hostage. You paid for a ride.” He held up his hand as your mouth opened, itching to argue.
“Besides, fish girl,” he teased gently, “after hearing your story last light, it sounds like you could use a vacation too. When’s the last time you had any fun?”
“I have fun, asshole. Quit changing the subject.”
“Lying’s bad for the soul,” he hummed, touching the tip of your nose again.
The energy drained from your body, and you left him to climb off the rock, falling onto your back in the sand.
“So what do you do for fun?”
Shanks’ husky voice rolled over you. You didn’t need to open your eyes to know that he’d sat behind your head, leaning over your face as he spoke.
“I’ll have fun once I get off this shitty island.”
Finally, the pirate stayed quiet. Waiting. Until those rough fingers smoothed the hair from your face.
You didn’t stop him as he traced along your skin, letting relaxation wash over you. He moved from your temples, your cheeks, your jaw, behind your ears. Making sure to move his hand to both sides, evening out his slow caresses.
“I don’t want to be here anymore,” you confessed, fighting the heat of tears rising in your throat. You rolled that little stone in your fingers, the motion soothing your nerves.
“Why’s that?”
“... Because I’m ‘Fish Girl.”
Shanks paused, and you wondered if he’d stifled a laugh.
“What do you mean,” he asked, voice like the gentle waves just a few paces away.
It all came spilling from your lips. He listened to everything, fingers still tracing your skin.
All the pain. Your mom leaving you with grandma, never coming back. You were so young, and it didn’t feel that bad at the time. You didn’t understand.
Grandma would tell you stories, you’d sit together on her boat for hours and hours. She taught you how to fish before you were strong enough to reel anything in.
“That sounds wonderful,” he said, his voice somehow telling you there was a smile on his face.
“It was. But kids are mean. I didn’t know we were poor until I went to school. I didn’t know I stank all the time until they called me ‘fish girl.”
His fingers tensed on your skin, a guilty pause before he kept up his soothing touch.
“I never relax. I’m always working because I want a better life. All those mean kids grew up with me in our shitty little village. A few have tried to connect now that we’re older, but I don’t feel like it. I’m still 'fish girl.”
Shanks started to speak, but you cut him off.
“I know they were just kids, but they were brutal. I was a kid too, and I could never imagine hurting anyone the way they hurt me. I don’t want to be friends with those people.”
“I’m sorry you had to go through that.”
A heavy sigh left your lips, then a small gasp as his hand moved to the side of your neck, the touch of those fingers more satisfying than anything you could remember.
“Fishing used to be something I loved. But since grandma’s been gone, I can only bring in half of what we used to. It’s not enough to save anything. I wanted to sell that stupid fish so bad,” you admitted with a laugh, a deep hum coming from the listening pirate.
“Where do you wanna go,” he asked, his fingers trailing into your hair.
“I want to go somewhere where I can love fishing again. I want to live stories like grandma did. I want to be a fisherwoman. I don’t want to be ‘fish girl’ anymore.”
The loss of his touch was heavier than you expected.
“Come on.”
You opened your eyes to meet his, shining at you over his outstretched hand.
Tucking the stone in your pocket, you let him help you up, surprising yourself with a laugh as he shook the sand from your hair.
“Well, I’d say you deserve a vacation. What do ya say?”
Laughing at his silly wiggling eyebrows, you nodded, giving a breathy “okay,” as he took your hand.
He leaned over you as you walked, sending shivers across your skin as his breath touched your ear.
“Fisherwoman is a mouthful, so I’m gonna keep calling you ‘damsel.”
“No, you won’t,” you commanded. You cursed at him as he giggled, dropping your hand to run toward the camp.
“You sound like you’re in distress, do you need help,” he yelled back.
“I’m gonna fucking kill you!”
You chased his laughing form until he slowed, grinning at you as he started to walk backwards.
The look on his face when you launched yourself at him would be seared into your mind forever. You both grunted as he toppled onto his back, his arm hanging onto your waist as you fell together.
The look on his face with you straddling him in the sand was even better.
Your hands had planned to slap him, but those eyes, those lips, and that look of joyful surprise did you in.
That gentle hand fisted roughly into your hair as you crashed your lips onto his. A quiet, needy moan left your throat, and his answering growl made your eyes roll back.
Thunderous cheers erupted from the crew, and you almost looked up at the camp until his fingers gripped your hair tighter, making your thighs clench around his waist.
He pulled you away gently, his parted lips and near frantic eyes matching yours.
“You sure,” he checked in, voice barely audible over the singing and shouting pirates. “Let’s get away from the crowd.”
Shanks kept looking over at you, that crooked smile following you back to the ship. He kept asking what you’d like to do, where you’d like to go.
“These clothes are sandy,” you noted, your voice low. “We should go to your room to change.”
He came in for a kiss, his deep voice rolling over you.
“We’re sandy too. We should probably shower.”
“Okay,” you agreed, melting under his dark eyes.
He pushed your sandy hair aside when you reached the door to the bathing room, kissing and nibbling from the crook of your neck to your ear, holding your waist as your knees went weak.
“Should we take turns guarding the door,” he rasped while your hands smoothed over the muscles around his waist and lower back.
“No.”
Practically stumbling through the door as you tried to keep touching each other, you stood in the center of that tiled room, and tore the clothes off of each other's skin.
There were no worries in your mind right now, just the electric touch of his hand and lips over each part of your body as it was revealed.
You cried out as you felt the hard length of him through his pants before you'd freed him from the fabric.
“You want me that much already, sweetheart?”
The urge to bicker was overridden as you pulled his pants from his skin, his thick cock springing up toward his stomach.
The need to touch him overwhelmed you, and you wrapped your hands around him, loving the moan he let out at your touch.
“Let’s shower, damsel,” he choked out as he kissed your cheek. “I need to bring you to the bed, now.”
That delicious smelling soap coated your skin, giving you an excuse to explore as you washed each other’s bodies. With as much of the sand and soap gone as possible, Shanks pushed you against the wall, his fingers traveling up your thigh.
“I thought you said you’re bringing me to the bed?”
“Just a minute,” he pleaded, teasing fingers until you nodded.
“Still this wet after washing it all away?”
Those rough fingers rubbed along your clit, his name dropping from your lips in needy moans.
“Mm, keep saying my name like that, beautiful,” he rasped, plunging in one finger, then two as your back arched against the cool, tile wall.
“Shanks, please…”
“Please what? What does my damsel need?”
“Take me– fuck. Take me to bed.”
You gasped as his fingers left you, finding his mouth as he sucked the taste of you off of his skin.
He tossed you a towel, kicking the clothes into a corner.
“Come on.”
“Wait,” you called, rushing to that pile of sandy fabric.
His crooked grin made you blush as he watched you grab that silly little stone.
“Come on,” he whispered onto your lips after pulling you into a deep kiss.
A trail of water followed your path, practically running and gasping with laughter all the way to his quarters.
He didn’t get you lost this time.
Now he was the one calling for you to wait as your hand reached for the door.
“We don’t have to do anything, Y/N. We can still relax and have fun together. Please, tell me if you’re not comfor—“
“Take me to bed, Captain,” you demanded, walking through the door before him.
The only answer he gave was to slam it closed, then wrap himself around your back, kissing your neck until you moaned.
“Shanks…”
“Yes, sweetheart,” he said before licking and nibbling at your earlobe.
“I don’t know,” you laughed, arching against him. “I just wanted to say your name.
The deep rumble that came through his chest had that pressure building in your core. His hand grasped yours, until you opened to give him the stone.
You stood smiling with your eyes closed until he pressed himself against your back again.
He pulled at your damp towel, then trailed that perfect hand down the front of your body, feeling everywhere he’d touched under that warm water and delicious soap.
Those fingers found you again, slipping easily in the dripping mess he’d already made of you.
“Mm, so wet. So good for me, aren’t you, beautiful?”
All you could do was whimper as he circled your clit, until you cried out at the towel covered press of him along your ass.
“Please…”
“What darlin’? Tell me what I can do for my damsel?”
His raspy voice was too much, and you gasped as he palmed your needy pussy to hold you up as your knees went weak.
He chuckled in your ear as he kept grinding the meat of his palm against you.
“Please, Y/N, please tell me what you need. I’ve got you.”
His whisper brought desperate tears prickling in your eyes until you could finally speak.
“Fuck me now, Shanks. Fuck right fucking now, or I’ll never forgive you.”
He grabbed you, easily moving your weight with one hand until you fell back onto the edge of the bed.
He left you then, digging though his desk, tossing things out of drawers in a frantic search.
“I said right fucking now,” you demanded, still breathless.
“Yes, but—“
“I’m on birth control. Now hurry up before I find another pirate—“
Your sentence ended in a yelp as he pounced on you, his thick cock rubbing through your folds as he ate your moans.
“Don’t go saying shit like that again,” he rasped as his dark eyes bore down on yours.
“You’re the one who keeps calling me damsel. If you’re not going to help me—“
A filthy moan left your lips as he guided his tip to rub circles over your clit.
“Oh, I’ll be helping you plenty, don’t worry sweetheart,” he promised, this dark smile of his going in your list of favorites.
“What was that you said about ‘right fucking now,” he taunted, giving you no time to brace for the press of him.
He worked his way in slowly, putting your leg over his shoulder while he watched your face.
“How’s that sweetie,” he teased, his own voice breathy and desperate now as his hips finally met yours. “Is this what my girl needed?”
“Fuck, Shanks. Fuck me please.”
“You are a very demanding woman, you know that?”
Any retort you would have had died in your throat as you screamed, his deep thrusts making your toes curl.
“So fucking gorgeous. Gods, Y/N, you take my cock so well.”
Shanks gripped your thigh against his chest, pressing it to him until he locked you into place.
“Oh right there, sweetheart? I’ll help my pretty girl right there, just say my name again.”
He hit that sweet spot inside you over and over as if it belonged to him, claiming it, taking it back. Every word from his lips felt like vibrating pleasure down your skin, and in no time at all, you were screaming his name, arching your back against those red sheets as you fell apart.
He fucked you through your orgasm, sweet praise almost impossible to understand as your mind disappeared.
“You feel so good coming on my cock, you made such a beautiful mess. You're gonna go again for me now, okay?”
He chuckled at the pathetic whine from your lips, but never stopped his rhythm.
“Please, pretty damsel? I helped you out. Now let me watch those dainty fingers on your clit. Let me feel you milk my cock one more time before I fill you up.”
He moaned along with you as your body clenched around his.
You couldn’t argue with that heated smile. His hungry eyes watched your fingers slide over your clit, scraping his lip between his teeth as he tightened his arm around your thigh.
“Just like that. Let me see my girl come on my cock again. Fuck... You feel so good, so fucking good for me, baby.”
“Shanks, you feel… I’m close.”
“I know, sweetheart, can you feel me too? Come for me, I’m gonna— fuuckk…”
Shanks leaned over you, shoving himself as deep as he could go. Pleasure ripped through your body as you clawed at his back, more screams filling the air.
The sensation of both of you coming at once, your body milking his as he spilled ropes of heat inside you, had your mouth slack, body limp and useless as you twitched together.
Shanks leaned his forehead against yours, staying hilted within you as he caught his breath.
You gave him a droopy smile as he lifted his head, and he laughed before covering your face in kisses while you squirmed.
This made both your bodies twitch again, moaning as he pulled himself out of you.
He grabbed one of the damp towels as he knelt at the foot of the bed, kissing your thighs as he gently cleaned your sensitive skin.
“Stop,” you begged weakly as his soft touches across you body kept your aftershocks going.
The mattress shifted under his weight, bouncing you lightly until he pulled you up the bed onto his chest. His arm wrapped around you, still leaving lazy circles of touch across your back and hip.
“Now what,” you whispered, fighting to keep the real world from invading your brain.
“Anything my damsel wants,” he hummed, leaving a soft kiss against your still damp hair. “Your vacation’s only just started.”

Diamond - September 1 - jegulus - @stag-microfic - word count: 509
“Are you sure it was this beach, James?”
“I’m positive! It had to have been.” James looked around at the vast expanse of rocks and cliffs running down the side of the beach. He knew he had found it at this beach specifically because of the rock formations. One of them looked like a curled up lion if you looked closely enough.
“James, I don’t think you’re gonna find it,” Remus spoke, stepping up beside him. “There’s hundreds of beaches this side of Wales and 85% of them have cliffs and rock piles.”
“I know it was this one though. If you had seen it, you would want to find it too, Remus.”
“James, I’m sorry,” Peter spoke up, “but fish don’t just climb out of the water to sunbathe.”
“It wasn’t a fish!”
“Mate, you were very specific on the fact that there were scales. So specific in fact, that they apparently sparkled like a diamond.”
“Because they did!”
“Okay, then why isn’t there a fish or a group of scales somewhere?”
“It couldn’t have been a fish!”
“James-”
“It spoke, Remus. I heard voices, and right before I walked around the rocks, there was a splash.” James looked towards the rock pile to his left. He knew that it had been there. He wasn’t crazy!
“James, mate, I think you’ve been watching too many pirate movies again,” Peter laughed, clapping him on the back. “It’s a good joke, but we aren’t falling for it a second time.” Peter headed towards the trail leading back to the cars. “Now, are we going to get lunch or spend the other half of this day scouring every beach in the vicinity for James’ mystery mermaid?”
“James, mate, we aren’t gonna find anything out here. Can we please just go get lunch?”
“You two go ahead. I can catch up later.” Remus sighed heavily but accepted with a turn and nod of his head. After they drove off in Peter’s car, James made his way over to the rocks. “Please, I know that you’re there. I don’t want to hurt you.”
He took a seat on the dry patch and prayed to any god that would listen. “I know that I’m not crazy. Please, prove that I’m not.” James’ head ducked down. Oh, who was he kidding? He could talk himself into a bloody spiral trying to come up with a logical explanation for the shimmer. That is probably all it had been honestly, a glimmer off of the water.
A soft crumbling sound caused James to glance back towards the cliffs. The rocks were shifting and settling like they always were from the beat of the waves. Looking back at the water, he blinked when his hazel eyes locked onto soft, curious grey ones. They flowed down into a tail of dark greens and bright blues that did indeed sparkle, but nothing compared to those soft, grey eyes that had yet to look away from him.
“Hello,” James spoke softly, and the beautiful creature started to rise from the water.

Funny (Y/n) x MHA pt. 2
(Y/n): Do you want this handful of moss?
Tomura: Why would I want a handful of fucking moss?
(y/n): Damn, you could’ve just said no.
——————————————————————————
Nedzu: I made tea.
(y/n): I don't want tea
Nedzu: I didn't make you tea. This is my tea.
(y/n): Then why did you tell me?
Nedzu: It's a conversation starter.
(y/n): It's a horrible conversation starter.
Nedzu: Oh, is it? We're conversing. Checkmate.
——————————————————————————
Bakugou: What is the one thing I told you not to do?
(y/n): Burn the house down.
Bakugou: And what did you do?
(y/n): I made dinner.
Bakugou:
(y/n):
Bakugou:
(Y/n): And burnt the house down.
——————————————————————————
(Y/n): Would anyone know any good vendors for professional-quality brass knuckles?
Kaminari: I know you’re serious, but you say the scariest shit sometimes.
——————————————————————————
Spinner: Hey guys, what do you think about making that beach trip an annual thing?
Dabi, Twice and (y/n): No!
Tomura: Alright, that’s it, you guys. What happened out there?
(y/n): What? We took a walk. Nothing happened. I came back with nothing all over me.
Toga: What does that mean?
Mr. Compress: Come on, what happened? Twice
Twice: Alright.
(y/n): No. Twice, we swore we’d never tell!
Dabi: They’ll never understand.
Twice: But we have to say something. We have to get it out. It’s eating me alive.
Twice: (y/n) got stung by a jellyfish!
(y/n): Alright! I got stung. Stung bad. I couldn’t stand. I- I couldn’t walk.
Dabi: We were two miles from the house. We were scared and alone. We didn’t think we could make it.
(y/n): I was in too much pain.
Twice: And I was tired from digging a huge hole.
Dabi: And then Twice remembered something.
Twice: I’d seen this thing in the Discovery Channel.
Spinner: Wait a minute, I saw that. On the Discovery Channel. Yeah, about jellyfish and how if you— EW! You peed on yourself?
Tomura, Mr. Compress and Toga: EW!!
(y/n): You can’t say that! You don’t know! I thought I was gonna pass out from the pain. Anyway, I tried, but I couldn’t... bend that way. So... *looks at Twice*
Tomura, Mr. Compress, Spinner and Toga: Ew!
Twice: That’s right. I stepped up. They’re my friend and they needed help. If I had to, I’d pee on any one of you.
Twice: Only, uh, I couldn’t. I got stage fright. I wanted to help but there was too much pressure. So, I, um, I turned to Dabi
Dabi: Twice kept screaming at me, “Do it now. Do it. Do it now.” Sometimes, late at night I can still hear the screaming.
Twice: That’s because sometimes I just do it through my wall to freak you out.
——————————————————————————
Twice, after getting a job as a life guard: Hmm... I wonder what those things at the bottom of the pool are..
(y/n): THOSE ARE PEOPLE DROWNING!
——————————————————————————
Kaminari: Is the pink panther a lion?
Kirishima: Say that again but slower.
Kaminari: I don’t get it.
(y/n): He’s a PANTHER.
Kaminari: Is that a type of lion?
Bakugou: No, it’s a fucking panther.
Kaminari: *googles panther* They aren’t pink?
(Y/n): AND LIONS ARE?!
——————————————————————————
(Y/n) : Midoriya and I are no longer friends.
Midoriya: (Y/N) THAT IS THE WORST WAY TO TELL PEOPLE THAT WE’RE DATING!
——————————————————————————
Midoriya: Treat spiders the way you want to be treated.
(Y/n) : Killed without hesitation.
Midoriya: No! (Y/n)!
——————————————————————————
(Y/n) , with their hands cupped over each other: I found a cool spider!
All Might: Oh? Lemme see!
(Y/n) , opening their hands to see nothing there: …hm.
Midoriya: …where’s the spider.
(Y/n) : *looks troubled and stares at their hands*
All Might: Oh no.
Midoriya: (Y/N) , WHERE’S THE SPIDER?!
——————————————————————————
(Y/n) : Did Midoriya just tell me they loved me for the first time?
Shoto: Yeah, they did.
(Y/n) : And did I just do finger guns back?
Shoto: Yeah, you did.
——————————————————————————
Shoto: *about (Y/n) and Bakugou* They make a cute couple, huh?
Midoriya: They certainly are standing next to each other.
——————————————————————————
(Y/n) : Smart is attractive. Educate me on something I don't know!
Shoto: The mouth of a jellyfish is also an anus.
(Y/n) : Stop.
——————————————————————————
(Y/n): here’s a lesson folks, don’t lick mystery liquids from the refrigerator
Class 1A: what
(Y/n):
Aizawa: what did you do this time?
(Y/n): I took a bag of leftover pizza out of the fridge and the bag was wet, so I licked the bag to find out what the mystery liquid was
Aizawa: why would you do that?
(Y/n): I just told you
Iida: I highly believe that that course of action is very bad
Midoriya: what was it?
(Y/n): *makes sad face* it was liquid from moldy, rotting celery
Aizawa: *shakes head*
Bakugou: you are a dumbass

“Approaching storm”
Morticia: Good morning, Wednesday. Are your friends awake?
Wednesday: no. Enid always sleeps until the last minute. Pressing snooze on her alarm until she sees me dressed ready to leave the room and then proceeds to scream at me for not waking her up. If I do try to wake up she screams at me for waking her up.
Eugene: -yawning- Good morning, Mrs Addams. Morning, Wednesday
Morticia: please, Eugene. Call me Morticia. Did you sleep well?
Eugene: I did. Oh my god! I- I-is that a Lion?
Wednesday: it just Kitty Kat. - there was someone behind the Lion trying to be sneaky- UNCLE FESTER!!
Morticia smiled at her brother. Wednesday happily leaped into his arms. Eugene was stunning at Wednesday’s emotional outburst
Wednesday: you made it!!
Fester: wouldn’t miss it for the world, Kiddo. Morticia says you have a big announcement. Has that fella I saw you with in the Nightshade library proposed?
Wednesday: ugh no. I am not interested in him. I have a girlfriend.
Fester: a girlfriend you say?
Wednesday: yes. Enid Sinclair. My roommate. You will officially meet her when she wakes up. This is Eugene. The beekeeper and my friend. Eugene, this is my Uncle Fester
Eugene: nice to meet you, sir -extending his hand only to get a slight electric shock shaking the bald man’s hand
Fester: -seeing a sleepy colorful blonde enter- You must be Enid. How you snagged Wednesday is beyond me but Welcome.
Enid was engulfed in a big hug
Gomez: Fester! You fiend. You made it. Lurch has gone to the airport for Cousin Itt and his family. They managed to make it out before the storm
Fester: ahh yes. Hurricane Mortimer. I was tempted to travel there to witness all the stranded tourists. It is always quite the sight. The storm has picked up intensity pretty quickly
Eugene snickered
Fester: what is so funny?
Enid: oh We have an an school mate out there! Wednesday? Do you still have the phone Xavier gave you? Does it even still work?
Wednesday: I do. It works. Why?
Eugene: you should text him! Ask if he’s enjoying the beach!
Wednesday smirked
