With the context of the deleted scene it's even juicier why Elphaba invites Glinda to the Emerald City.

Glinda is upset Fiyero got picked over her. Not even that she wanted to join also to rescue to Lion cub or would've helped Elphaba too. No. She wanted to be picked instead of Fiyero.

So when Elphaba promises she won't leave her behind again, that becomes real tangible when she gets the invite to meet the Wizard and decides she shouldn't leave Glinda out of it this time, like with the Lion cub.

BUT WHAT'S MORE Elphaba only realizes this after reading Glinda's gay ass note of hoping Elphie gets her heart's desire. And in that moment, Elphaba is reminded about Glinda's heart's desire.

Because Glinda's heart's desire isn't to become a sorceress like she thinks and says; it's to be picked and chosen above anyone else. What Glinda does not yet realize is that she wants to be picked by the one she loves and not just the faceless masses.

So when Elphaba reads that note and invites Glinda to come with her, she's essentially saying

I'm picking you above anyone else

and without even Glinda realizing it, gives her her heart's desire.

A Coffee Heart

Danny's a heavy coffee drinker and he has his reasons. Ever since the half-fatal accident at 14 his heart beats at a very slow rate like 32 beats per minute type of slow

He fell asleep in class and didn't wake up automatically to a pencil dropping, once (he fought six big ghost attacks in a span of 3 hours that day, give him a break) he nearly caused Mr Lancer a heart attack it took 10 minutes to convince him to not call the hospital.

Ever since that day, he's been drinking coffee with enough caffeine in it to kill a horse, both for the energy when ghost fighting and faster heart rate.

His parents decided that they needed to take an emergency trip to Gotham to get rid of its ' Shadow mimicking human mocking echo scum ' which was apparently Batman & Co. . . .

3 days, a shit ton of research, 37 cups of 'I am living human' coffee, more research (not batfam related) and a 253 slideshow presentation that I lovingly called Gothampedia. I managed to convince them that the furry vigilantes aren't ghost ( they don't believe that humans can do the things that the bats do, so there metas) and that Gotham has many many more dangers then ghost doing its thing there

It worked. . . .sort of

The probability of Ghosts aren't the problem here, it's the fact that you dress in the neon hazmat suits carrying around bulking handmade weapons that will put you on Batman's watchlist faster than you can say Going Ghost! Gotham has plenty of mad scientists you don't need to mingle with them!!

After trying and failing to get them the least postpone this adventure he looked on with Dread

There's no way to get out of this isn't there. . . .

Maybe Gotham has less restrictions on the amount of caffeine I can get in coffee.

The way this outfit is so "Dragonkeepers" leaning is everything.

She was in a Valyrian-inspired aesthetic before we even strictly-speaking knew what that was. We have the angular lines of the jacket, sharp shoulders, we have the kimono-like neckline!

It's obviously not as blatant as the S2 costumes, where we really lean into the silhouette that's sort of established by the robes that Rhaenyra and Daemon wear at their wedding but no one else wears a neckline like Rhaenys has on her blouse. No one else has a garment like she does with that jacket.

And the pattern has scales. So it's rich, it's got Westerosi influence as well, it's by no means a robe at all, but it clearly leans more towards the silhouette that visually speaks of a Valyrian heritage and specifically to do with dragons.

And just as a bonus, we got the triangular shape around her neck and the sharp shoulders in the first dress we see her in, after the Great Council.

Rhaenys's costumes are so contextualised. Colour, shape, length, whatever. It's contextual. Whether she's twinning with her husband, leaning into her Targaryen roots, repping a house or her own independence, or a mixture, it's there.

I actually really love that we see Helena's palpable hesitation about going back to the severed floor. We know that this has all been a publicity thing for her and it's about helping Lumon, so she's really invested in the outcome, but like. from her POV, she's literally letting someone who actively hates her and everything she stands for, and also has a proven willingness to hurt herself if it means hurting Helena, who now knows who she is and her significance to Lumon, pilot her body for 8 hours every day in an environment where they've repeatedly failed to control her. If I were her, I'd be genuinely surprised to wake up with my limbs intact.

You already questioned why on earth she'd come back after Helly's suicide attempt, and the identity reveal explains the reasoning, but on a human level that's still a wild thing to have to think about. This person (who is you but also isn't) almost succeeded in killing you, and like a week later you let them pilot your body again like nothing happened. How could you not be terrified?

When your father tried his best to provide for you but he worked all the time and even when he was home he was either tired or stressed and he’s always liked to get drunk to relax and cheer up. When you know he values work ethics and respectability so you grew up to be capable and quiet. And when he says you’re like him you’re sort of puzzled, does he really know you so little, or does he know himself so little? I haven't read the Odyssey so I'm asking you. Are you telling me besides Athena, Apollo was the god who helped Odysseus and his family the most? Indirectly at least.

If that's true it's really a missed opportunity in EPIC.

No, no, the god who assists Odysseus the most after Athena is unquestionably Zeus.

Zeus genuinely has no problems with Odysseus and makes it very clear that he finds the man brilliant and would have already had him home and safe if he had his way, but he makes it clear that he's deferring to Poseidon who actually has the problem with Odysseus because, ultimately, the sea is Poseidon's domain and kingdom and Zeus doesn't intend to step on his brother's toes.

I'd definitely give third place to Apollo however. The big bug-bear about Apollo in the Odyssey is just that he's much less tangible than Athena or even Hermes who appears to Odysseus multiple times to help guide him/give him proclamations. His presence is everywhere though; like I've previously mentioned (and like he did with Jason) it's Apollo protecting Odysseus from Poseidon as he sails the sea after Odysseus blinds Polyphemus. It's also Apollo keeping Telemachus safe. His most vital role by far is when Odysseus returns to Ithaca in time for the challenge that will determine the next king. Not only is it a shooting contest whose first hurdle is to string a bow, the challenge itself takes place on a festival day for Apollo. Athena is there with Odysseus and Telemachus physically, but Apollo is looking after them in spirit, sending signs and signals to keep Telemachus especially safe.

(Od. Book 15, Telemachus warns about the state of Odysseus' house to Theoclymenus, a son of one of Apollo's prophets.)

There's also the fact that Odysseus makes sure to pray to Apollo before he attempts to string the bow:

Likewise, before he slays the first suitor, Odysseus again prays for Apollo's guidance and gaze to guide his arrows:

Also, as an additional thing, have Telemachus invoking Zeus, Athena and Apollo that he could see the suitors have their asses beat:

There's a lot of minimisation of Apollo's role in the Odyssey because it isn't as bright and showy as his role was in the Iliad but hey, even there people tend to minimise how truly present Apollo is for the duration of the war when they're doing adaptations. Within Epic, the stage is already more than set for both Apollo and Athena to be there at the advent of Odysseus' revenge but none of that matters if that's not the creator's intention, y'know?

God guys I'm really in the trenches with thinking about Mary and Arthur and how utterly tragic they are.

After so many years of no contact, Arthur only meets Mary three times throughout the span of the story, three times where they talked about love and regret and pain and wishing things were different. Three times was all it took to officially break both of their hearts again, and one broken forever into the grave.

They wanted to run away, they wanted to run away and be happy, they wanted to be together again, they wanted it so badly and it was just so out of reach.

The last thing Arthur ever did with Mary was take her to the theatre, the last thing Mary ever did with Arthur was give back the engagement ring he had given her.

Because Arthur wanted to marry her.

Arthur wanted to marry her and run away with her and forget their families and make a life together.

But Mary didn't get a letter back, she didn't hear anything from Arthur, maybe she hoped that Arthur had moved on too, but Arthur died and had been dead the whole time. Mere days or weeks after she sent that letter, Arthur died.

How utterly soul destroying would the guilt and pain be after finding that out? That the last thing you did with the love of your life was write about how you're ready to move on days before they died? How she wrote about never forgiving herself for falling back in love with Arthur again when he was alive, but now he's dead? He's dead and there's so many things she'll never be able to take back or write about again, now she's all alone without even Arthur to help her even when she felt horrible for asking in the first place, now she will have to grieve instead of trying to move on like she promised, god you guys.
