i'm so bad with dates i didn't even realize today's numbers were 11 and 12 ASKSKS (also i missed POCKY DAY? man, i had an idea for a doodle for that but oh well. i'll still draw it fdgfdhd)

i almost panicked about not having any art for tskym day bc cmon.... they're my boys........ but thankfully i had a deadline to finish some art prints last week and now here we are pftt

the process for this one is a little different from what i'd consider my usual way of drawing. i usually do lineart, flat colors, rendering, and yadda yadda, but maybe it's because i've been doing a lot of painterly disco elysium art lately that i decided to just paint over the scaled-up thumbnail and see where it takes me! (you can see in the timelapse me struggling over cleanly inking tsukki's face before i went 'screw this' LOL)

drawing this was pretty fun! i always wanted to try out my painterly style outside of disco elysium fanart and now i've done it! (well, done it again, bc i've kind of tried it for kghn day too pftt)

there is still something very charming abt the thumbnail in my humble onion, i don't think i was able to retain the exact silent tenderness in tsukki's face from the thumbnail in the final thing but oh well, c'est la vie dghdj (also me drawing yammers with visible nostrils jumpscare [this is only funny to me ASKSK])

Alastor x gn reader when it's Alastor who fell for reader first, not the other way around. What Alastor likes about reader the most is their intelligence and almost entertainer-man charisma. Reader is very aware of Alastor's crush and they like to keep him on his toes on whether or not they like him back (they do)

You sat in the common room of the hotel, chatting up some random sinner that had wandered in for sanctuary. Suddenly, Alastor pops in, likely to annoy husker. “Alastor! Mon ami!” You shout in his general direction, speaking French because of the fact you remembered his hailing from the French quarter of New Orleans. Alastor, slightly caught off guard, turns around and greets you. “Ah, (____)! Hello my friend.” You roll off the couch into a pose(the one where your head is propped up by your fist and your leg bent and your foot on your knee). “What brings you out of your swamp cave?” You spring to your feet cartoonishly and walk over to him, resting your arm on the wall beside him. He avoids eye contact and the usual static that accompanies him crescendos. “Why, I was just going for a stroll, my dear! Care to join me?” You pull away from the wall and turn around on the ball of your foot. “Oh, I don’t know! I was just planning on staying in and reading.” Technically not a lie, you did quite enjoy reading and you WERE planning on staying in, but at this point you were teasing him. “Well I could join you! A bit of quality time never hurt anyone, hm~?” He draws out the /mm/, sounding a bit silly. You smile and respond “oh, I don’t want to keep you from your plans. I suppose I could join you!” You smile and he…well his face doesn’t really change. You proceed to take a stroll. As you step off the curve to an un-sidewalked street and roll forward, Charlie Chaplin style. “Well arnt you the agile one?” “I pride myself on it, dear!” This catches him off guard. Dear? Oh! “Oh Alastor, my friend, looks like we’ve arrived at Rosie’s!” Oh. Friendzoned. Damn. “Hmh, it seems we have.” “Something wrong, Al?” You smile up at him brightly. He blushes. visibility, actually, blushes. That’s actually quite cute. “Oh, blushing?” He clears his throat. “I HONESTLY don’t know why you would say that.” You place your hands over his on his cane/staff thing and slllooowwwly lean up at him…only to get interrupted by Rosie. “ROSIE! How are you, you absolute DOLL!” DAMN, FOILED AGAIN! Next time.

oh fun fact, i model most of my own drawings! here's me with a teacup, a pair paintbrushes, and the hanfu i made from an old bedsheet. shout out to my Director of Photography, Alex (bottom left).

ok lets talk about my throught process behind this drawing!

i wanted a cool visual metaphor for the one-sided power dynamic between the sovereign and the subject. something about objectification, and the way society reduces the art and artist to mere consumables. oh and of course, the violence inherent in a feudal system that's covered by a veneer of civility. the cannibal is dressed in silk and eats with silver chopsticks out of a lacquered bowl. in a smiliar way, the IRL first emperor consumed his citizens to satisfy his own hunger for glory. he created the Great Wall, built a network of roads connecting the whole country, dug the world's largest cannal--and worked millions of people to death in the process.

Gao Jianli is very passive and resigned throughout this entire ordeal. the Small Jianli's represent different parts of his psyche. some sit there in a stupor, or hang percariously between two states, or whisper in the king's ear in an attempt to change his mind. others take matters into their own hands by climbing directly into the bowl.

Qin Shi Huang's clothes were inspired by this the woman in this pic. i thought the white-on-black swirls absolutely ate. man it's so nice that during the first 1000 years of chinese history men and women wore basically the same clothes, really makes things easy for me.

my favourite part of the drawing is actually that table. it's hard to get that good glossy finish and im pretty proud of myself ngl. the fancy dinner plates filled with absolutely nothing represents the lack of satisfaction QSH finds in his titles and status.

Art tutorial for talentless souls like me? 🥺

I'm not one for tutorials tbh. I can't usually push my point across enough for people to understand sooo no tutorials from me. I could give you links to random Pinterest tutorials I never used and it would be good as much as I would give you one

I can try to help you understand art I guess. Give a little advice , but still it all would be just rambling from me . You do what you want with it

Learn that artwork is a combination of 2% of talent , 20% of happy accidents , 30% of being miserable in life and having enough of today's society, and another 90% is hard work and learning how stuff work . And fun.

And there's no really easy way about it. If you don't like learning stuff art ain't for ya ( yes , ya gotta train your muscle memory how to draw shapes. Yes you gotta practice)

Art is like math but in colors

Once you get a hold of it it sticks . Once you learn how to add one color to another you start to understand what are you doing

And then some random bullshit is happening on your canvas and you have no idea what's happening

If you are a beginner - do not compare yourself too much to others - I know it's hard and it might hurt seeing other artists be better than you. It makes you unmotivated and helpless.

Yeah, I too get like that sometimes

But

You gotta have an open mind and mindset ready for finding new ways of thinking. You see art you like? Try to understand it. How does it work? Why are you liking it so much? Is it colors? Composition? Complex /simple style?

Once you find the answer, give it a try .

Don't copy

Do your own thing . Take inspiration, let your inner self bleed onto canvas and just draw.

Oh and Do not discriminate a sketch. Most of us don't even finish those

Fenris scarf! (ID in alt)

Crocheted acrylic yarn, embroidered with glow in the dark yarn (which is, in fact, something that exists!) It measures ~6'8" (about 2m) without the tassels and is 7" (~17cm) wide at the widest point.

The embroidered parts took about five hours to finish, which was far faster than I was expecting. I drew the tattoo design on with chalk markers (the kind you use for windows), embroidered over it, and then washed it out (thanks again to everyone who helped with references!) Highly recommend this method if you try anything similar. This was a really cool project! I learned a lot of things from it, most importantly the dragon scale stitch I used for the bottom of the black section. I think I will be doing Leliana or Morrigan next c:

today's repostober comes with a lot of words. because if i remember correctly i restrained myself from writing an essay at the time i made these. because look. all of the ut cast but especially papyrus belong in the harvest moon 64 world. i don't care if crossovers are cringe (are they? no don't answer because i really don't care). these are my two favorite video games and they go together like pb and j.

anyway first we have papyrus drinking water after water after water at the bar. this is an incredibly time consuming but free way to get unlimited energy to upgrade all your tools to the max on the first night. hypothetically. if you feel like spending. idk......20 hours or so of your life doing it......(he does) (sans does not). because not only is it free as in, costs no in game currency, time stands still inside the bar and in this game time IS MONEY. also "aren't you the healthy one?" is what the bartender says when you order the glass of water and I've only read it about one hundred million times in my life

a weird exploit exists at the horse races in which you can prepare to place an extravagant bet but withdraw it at the last moment. you pay nothing but the game considers the bet placed all the same. so you bet he will figure that out and take advantage of it!! seriously though, i just love the idea of the situation being a bit switched from the way it was in undertale. sans has a bit of a hard time finding his place in this weird surface world. (and yes i think he would stress about bills. what of it.) papyrus somehow finds his way into the hearts of every single person in the village. he is at the top of his game and everyone loves him!!!!!!!

#10. What's an au you have for them?

Since them meeting at all is technically an AU i have 3 different ways that they do meet up. There's the one where Juniper ends up with the agency/adjacent to and ends up working with Reggie (have written a fic with this). The next one is Juniper surviving but basically going stealth and living as normal of a life as he can and ending up meeting Reggie through chance (most recent fic I've written). And then there's my personal favourite where Reginald "You're lucky my tracking skills are still up to snuff" Crane keeping himself busy after Phoenix was MIA and finding Juniper still alive (fic I want to write but haven't started mainly because it may end up multi chapter).

In terms of more AU canon bending taking them and putting them in a completely unrelated situation...I have a guilty pleasure Warrior Cats AU for IEYTD in general. Both JJ and Reggie have perfect warrior cats suffixes in their names already (Juniper and Crane) so they're called Junipersong (charcoal bengal) and Craneflight (tabby Norwegian forest cat). It's very silly but the amount of scenes I have in my mind for it...good lord...

Basically Juniper kissing Reggie but he like wasn't ready/fully expecting it and Juniper absolutely panicking because he thinks he's misread every interaction between them both since they got closer.
