Going from the magnus archives to malevolent is kinda funny to me because, like, the characters in tma didn't have it easy by any means- had a really awful time actually- but it was all with an undertone of 'maybe none of this works out, but we tried our best and that matters'
And then you listen to malevolent and it's just Good God they're killing that man with sledgehammers.

X: YOU CAN’T SHIP THOSE!!! THEY HAVEN’T INTERACTED/THEY HATE EACH OTHER!!!!
Me in my head: It’s not my fault if you aren’t creative enough to imagine a fanfiction, an alternative universe, or just something more than the show offers bud.

oh and if you thought i was done no im fucking not do you understand how much it hurts to look back and realize you have surpassed your parents in ways they will never be able to relate to. do you know how young ratio was when he realized this. do you think about how much he reflects on how quickly he grew and how little time as a result he got to spend with his family. and yet they love him all the same and he loves them too and yet it hurts anyway. it hurts because imagine him taking everything his parents taught him wholeheartedly and hitting that point where his understanding of the world went so much farther than theirs, and imagine them trying not to let their blank expressions show because they're just happy to hear him talk about what he loves even when they cannot keep up or understand and they do their best to encourage him and they are so, so proud of him, and they never fail to remind him of this but it hurts all the same. when your parents do not understand you it hurts. he was so young when it happened. he was too young.

this may not be very coherent bc I have a narsty cold but it’s something I don’t see talked about much— I’ve been thinking about how much I enjoy the fact that Peter Parker/Spider-Man is kind of creepy. Like. I love that he’s got that freaky “teleport when you’re not looking” ability spiders have, the creepy crawling, the fast and unpredictable movements, the eerie stillness, the hanging, the warning that they’re around with entangling traps or even just dissolving cobwebs that let you know they’re in the area. the kind of animalistic, unnatural, disturbing parts of being a spider that makes spiders, and spider-man, so cool
