informally, some kind of. conversational follow up to the last comic. I'm trying to get the atmospheric conversational whimsy out of my system because I have a vision of the vatican as a body in active decay, a point of infection spreading out and poisoning the well, a jaw unhinged that people walk into over and over, and I am so close to figure out how to convey this visually. maybe.

#not that there's anything wrong with atmospheric whimsy but i kind of want to get into the gross body horror of it all #literally. allegorically. for the vibes. its just hard to pin down the abstract thought of 'oh we should High Rise the Vatican' you know #(High Rise by JG Ballard is what i'm referring to here) like how do I achieve this. well. first. is i must lay out the vatican and become #intimate with the visual set pieces. then i can talk about how this building could literally be hazardous to your health #however. drawing the vatican. is very. uhhhh. man I do not know enough about medieval-renaissance architecture to be inventing #anything and that one book that collected interiors of rooms and houses in renaissance art is NEVER ANYWHERE EVER #and if it is then it's always around when i cannot afford it. i feel like i am in a specific kind of torment torture box #i will not be defeated tho. i can design a vatican through other means.#ANYWAY. i think antidepressants would've made ascanio an unstoppable menace in the vatican #there's a bunch of stuff being referenced here but my pdf reader does not want to cooperate with me so basically we're playing around with #ascanio's household staff (alessandro) that whole thing wrt to ascanio & acts of piety/charity (such as covering dowries etc)#uh. that's it! this time i didn't accidentally call giuliano by his brother's name. which is . sherhhg. so there's a fic i was writing.#italian renaissance tag #komiks tag

I think of so many stupid shenanigans between Wriothesley and his daughters in the Addison Lee verse. They tell Wriothesley crazy shit all the time, their daddy-daughter secrets, and it drives Neuvillette nuts that Wriothesley won't snitch.

Sigewinne, whispering into his ear: Today at school I punched a boy because he was being mean. I waited until it was recess, and made sure that no one was watching, and I punched him. Everyone knows he is a liar, so noooo one believed him when he cried about it. And Sigewinne is aaaalways a superstar so Mr Vautrin didn't suspect a thing !

Wriothesley, mildly concerned: Uh huh.

Sigewinne: Papa would say Sigewinne has to be nice to everyone, but, Sigewinne thinks bullies need to get punched sometimes, b'cos, b'cos otherwise, they think everyone is just gonna let them be mean

#They tend to play with him more than Neuvillette because he can match their energies #but Neuvillette usually is who they'd run to when they #need calmness and comfort #at night. when they're all asleep. The point is to be nice #and daddy is nice isn't he. even if he says bad words sometimes.#but neuvillette is like No. No Bad Words. It is considered socially inappropriate for your age group. When you are older #you can decide if you want to use them. however. there are some rules in the classroom and I do not want you girls to get into trouble.#if you get into the habit of cursing like your dad. it'd be hard to keep away from them when you are in class. and bad words frighten papa #so. I ask that you ladies do not use them.#but like I don't think. they'd Punish the kids. the swear jar isn't even like. a punishment. it is a swear tax. every time you say bad word #you have to pay the swear tax. and whatever's in the jar gets taken out for ice cream or whatever to make papa feel better #[ this is how wriothesley explain it ]#and it leads to stuff like. I like selling prints because I get to use my nice printer (which I love to do) and I especially love selling custom panel prints, because then I get to see people's favorite panels from my comic, which is double nice...

The most fun items to pack are the merch bundles which are themed with my books, I LOVE coming up with packaging design like this so much...

But my favorite design has gotta be one of these... Probably the patch, there.

It's really hard for me to pick!

I actually genuinely just am really passionate about product design and merch themeing, it's not only extremely fun for me but it also just really engages my brain. I love coming up with items that fit a theme, and there's no theme I love more than my own comics haha

So there's not much I could enjoy more! That's why I chose to do a merch club on patreon, it lets me get out my merch-y feelings but without overloading my storefront... Plus it's just really fun for me! I get to experiment, make little packages, and enjoy making new things.

the setting itself can be the monster... but also... a lover? much to think about

#random thoughts #thinking about a house which is alive and is obsessed with you #and it has full control of whatever non-living items lay inside its walls #(with of course one of the horror aspects being 'if something dies it is now an object and can be controlled')#(which could be used for a 'the house kills your spouse and then takes control of their body to love you like it thinks your spouse should')#(and as long as the body stays inside the house it stays intact but if a long time passes and it leaves it fucking insta rots)#i think a lot of what the house does is just to keep you from leaving #from seemingly innocuous stuff like 'oh we're out of milk i should go buy some-nevermind i found a half pint in the back of the fridge'#to stuff like making fake phone calls so you think your friends keep canceling plans on you while you're seemingly ghosting your friends #to just straight-up making a fake outside. i imagine this would be very taxing on the house for long periods of time (su rose's room)#now i'm imagining the house possessing your spouse's corpse and remolding it to fit what it wants to look like better #either as a form of self-expression or from a place of perfectionism ('those slightly uneven eyes have been bugging me for MONTHS')#the house is a control freak perfectionist and likes you being inside where it knows everything and can control all #no privacy at all #i doubt the house's perception is all-seeing so let's say you can tell it's watching if things in the same room as you are being adjusted #a slightly ajar kitchen cabinet being gently closed. stuffed animals adjusting their positions to be in a perfect row.#and if it's feeling particularly ominous the stuffed animals could all be turned to look at your bed #imagine you sleep with a favorite stuffed animal and as you're drifting off you could SWEAR it adjusted itself in your arms #almost like it was getting comfortable...#horror #and of course the spouse doesn't believe anything you say and thinks you're going crazy so. accidental gaslighting #it would culminate in a screaming match between you and your spouse and your spouse moves as to hit you #and SNAP the house force-snaps their neck #or maybe there's a rube goldberg machine going on in the background of a gun magically loading and firing itself directly into their skull #spouse drops dead. pin-drop quiet. GETS up. brushes itself off. 'well that's a bit better'#imagining 1950s btw. something about the horror of your home being both your prison and your solace #you are a housewife and you and your husband just moved into this edwardian-era townhouse in the hopes of starting a family #your husband works a lot so of course you're the one who notices the house being fucking weird #maybe at first you assume it's a ghost and you're a bit scared until you find a way to communicate and then you just have a new friend #maybe your only friend in a new town

I really love my user right now but I kinda wanna change it because I've seen people make their users match their side-blog titles, and I kinda wanna do that so people know my selfship blog and main blog are related hopefully without having to ask(cause I have some people that follow my main that I don't think know I selfship so I can't put it in my pinned post there as of now🙁).

downloaded the pocket mirror soundtrack AUUUGH. who was going to tell me that the same theme that plays in the beginning over elise giving her the pocket mirror is the same that plays throughout the emotional scenes.

with a little help from PTSD you too can have 2 panic attacks in an hour, lay down to try and deal with the physical effects of that, accidentally fall asleep, wake up at what should be your bedtime, and then spend an hour and a half feeling like you're about to throw up

Honestly kind of glad over the immense feeling of despair that comes with trying to find LoP merch? Because it truly just means... Neowiz had a passion for their game, having focused all energies on creating it rather than trying to market something to people.

It shows their love and dedication to their game rather than wanting to make a profit from merch (I'm looking at you, indie horror scene).

They believed in their creation, and as a result, we all want the merch that'll inevitably be made in the future for us. That's the difference between making something out of love, and making something out of profit.

#Don't mind me just suddenly-- feeling c: I adore this game c: Like I know there's been more EXCLUSIVE merch made #but they're so far and in between that... you can tell they didn't really focus on like. Profiting off of cheap merch?#Plushies? Fan made. Keychains? Fan made. Pins? Fan made. Any official merch has been so rare.#You can tell they just wanted to make their GAME and then went “yeah a few people might like this stuff haha”#before the FLOOD of love came their way and they went “Oh shit they love it actually”#Just really nice to see how ghastly vacant the merch pool is right now LOL reminding myself of how much CARE went into the game #as opposed to wanting to profit from selling merch due to it. Just really nice honestly.#Normally you got games pre-lined with a shit ton of merch because “Well OBVIOUSLY we can sell this” or #“We're gonna make this SO MARKETABLE” but no.
