Dragon's Dogma 2 Sphinx Guide

Here is the easiest way to do the Sphinx in DD2 with minimum hassle. spoilers for the Game of Wits quest beneath

So before you go to the first location, you're gonna need a few things. Bring a port crystal to make things easier and set it down near her.

1. Sphinx Mother OR Sphinx Father pawn in your party (if you're unsure it's the correct ones, their Arisen will be listed as CAPCOM)

2. an item you want to duplicate (i recommend a portcrystal, you get one as a reward)

3. any NPC who you have max affinity with (your main pawn can also work for this one)

4. the location of the first Seeker Token you picked up

anyway, onto the riddles.

Mountain Shrine:

Riddle of Eyes:

step through the door and turn to your right, go up the small path and open the chest to get the Sealing Phial (DO NOT USE IT). You can do the full dungeon if you want, it's just some Hobgoblins and an Ogre in the basement, not much in the way of loot. present the Sealing Phial to the sphinx, and claim your reward.

REWARD: Wakestone

Riddle of Madness:

pick up your max affinity NPC or main pawn and set them on the pedestal with you, then talk to the sphinx.

REWARD: Portcrystal

Riddle of Wisdom:

pick up your Sphinx Mother or Sphinx Father pawn and set them on the pedestal with you, then talk to the sphinx.

REWARD: 1200 Rift Crystals

Riddle of Conviction:

hand over any item in your inventory that you want duplicated, again i'd recommend the portcrystal.

REWARD: Duplicate of your item

Riddle of Rumination:

now for the hard one. the sphinx will give you 7 in game days to return to where you found your first Seeker Token, and pick up the Finder Token to return to her. There is no way to check where the first you found was, you just have to remember.

Mine was in a harpy nest somewhere around the Borderwatch Outpost

Once you find the token, return it to the sphinx and she'll move to the Frontier Shrine. REWARD: 3 Ferrystones

Important info for the next shrine:

You're going to want a portcrystal in Bakbattahl before starting the next shrine, and one in the border town if you're lazy like me

Grab a handful of ferrystones because you're gonna need them

Switch your vocation to Archer BEFORE the final riddle i cannot stress how important this part is to getting the final reward

I would highly recommend sleeping at an inn or your home before starting the Frontier Shrine as a backup

the sphinx will ask you to carry a pot from the Frontier Shrine to a man named Maurits in Bakbattahl, if it breaks you fail the quest. THE JAR DOES NOT RESPAWN, YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL NEW GAME+ TO FINISH THIS QUEST. the easy way to do this is to go to Bakbattahl, find Maurits in the Mural Byway, pick him up and use a ferrystone to transport you two to the Frontier Shrine portcrystal. set him down near the pot to complete the riddle.

Riddle of Differentiation:

the sphinx will show you an NPC, immediately screenshot what they look like just in case. the NPC always looks the same EXCEPT FOR THE HAIR.

if their hair is straight, it's Dante on the Vermund side of the border gate in the checkpoint town. (i do not have a picture of Dante, unfortunately)

if their hair is curly, it's Vergil on the Battahl side of the border gate (the log entry for Vergil says he is in Bakbattahl, he is not)

so, grab your twin and ferrystone them back to the Frontier Shrine, bring them onto the pedestal with you and talk to the sphinx

REWARD: Whimsical Daydream

Riddle of Contest:

the sphinx gives you a ring that lowers your damage to the minimum and challenges you to fight a guard. pick up the guard and throw him off the cliff, she'll laugh and grant you your reward.

REWARD: Ring of Ambition

Riddle of Recollection:

the sphinx asks you to pile stone statues in front of her equal to the number of riddles she has asked you. just add 5 + number of chests you have open in the Frontier Shrine. pile them around the pedestal and talk to her.

REWARD: Arrow of Unmaking

immediately after answering the final riddle, she will begin to fly away to leave, and this is where being an archer comes in. equip the Arrow of Unmaking and shoot the sphinx with it. she will die immediately and thank you for the game and drop the key to the large golden chest. pick it up and claim your final reward.

Ruby eyes followed the figure who was attempting to sneak their way towards the front door. And doing an absolutely abhorrent job, might he add. Highheels to sneak out? If the clicking of their heels hadn’t already done the job of giving her away, then the floorboards would have.

“Sylnala Miajyre Ancunin, what in the hells do you think you’re doing?” he called, with an authoritative tone. She didn’t even have a middle name, but giving her one in preface to a lecture just seemed… right.

“Oh, hells,” he heard his daughter mutter as she shut the door. “Hi Da...Did you just give me a new middle name?”

“We’ll touch on how much you love it later. Did I just catch you trying to sneak out the front door?”

“Um. No?” she said hesitantly. Sylnala gazed at him, silently pleading with him to let this go. He simply met her look with a single raised brow, waiting for her to answer him.

“Da, I only wanted to go dancing with Lyra! I wasn’t going to be gone long!”

“I don’t care a lick about what you were planning to do tonight, my sweet.” Astarion said, giving a dismissive wave of his hand.

Synala’s confusion was palpable as she stared at him with wide eyes. “Is- is this a trap? Is Ma around the corner with a pair of manacles?”

Astarion gave a sharp laugh as he leaned against the wall with arms crossed over his chest. “No. No trap. I have no idea where you get such theatrical notions.” She gives him a flat look, making him laugh again.

“No, darling. I do not care that you were sneaking out of the house. Honestly, I was beginning to grow a little concerned me and your mother somehow managed to raise you to be on the straight and narrow,” he spit out with an exaggerated shudder much to his daughter’s amusement. “What I am annoyed at is you getting caught sneaking out of the house. Honestly?! You’ve a father with a history of being a rouge with impeccable skills in getting in and out of places with none being the wiser, and here I catch my own daughter failing to sneak her way to the front door? Have you any idea how embarrassing this will be if this leaves the house?”

“I’m sorry. You’re mad that I’m not better at sneaking out of the house?”

“I do believe I did mention that,” he says, reaching out an arm to give her nose a little teasing poke. “I mean, honestly darling, there’s a perfectly good trellis right out side your window. You could have easily scaled that and disappeared into the night with no one the wiser.”

“I’m in heels!” she protested loudly.

“They are not welded to your feet,” he answered with a pointed look. “And what about the stomping around like a drunk ogre? You may as well have been banging on a war drum while you were leaving. In fact, that may have been a little quieter.”

“Da!” Sylnala protested loudly.

“How are you meant to grow as a sneak if I don’t give you honest criticism? Next time you want to sneak out, remove the loud shoes and God’s above! Keep to the walls. The floor boards won’t squeak if you only step on the edges.”

“Fine! Noted! Can I go now?”

“Do you think you’ve earned a night of dancing with that performance?”

“Daaa!” She whined, giving an adorable little stomp of her foot.

“Fine,” he acquiesced, waving towards the door. “But only because I approve of who you are going to be with. Lyra will make sure you get up to some proper trouble tonight. The kind I care to gossip about.”

Dream Lord, Manus

In universe, his title is Father of the Abyss, but the Abyss in Dark Souls and the Abyss in D&D/Pathfinder are two very different things. So I struggled for a while of where to put him. As a nascent demon lord? As a Great Old One? I finally decided on Dream Lord, a category of my own invention, which at this point is made up of demigods from video games whose lore and magic systems do not intersect nicely with any form of Pathfinder canon. The Plateau of Leng seems like a reasonable place for the litany of nightmares From Software creates.]

Dream Lord, Manus CR 25 CE Outsider (extraplanar) This creature is vaguely humanoid, but its form has clearly been warped and distorted past the point of caricature. His head is small, with a leering demonic face and a set of antlers. His shoulders are enormous, and multiple sets of rib-like appendages grow from his shoulders and along his upper back, studded with luminous red eyes. His right arm is proportional and carries a staff with a scythe-like blade. His left arm is as thick as his torso, ending in a massive hairy paw with spikes on the underside of the fingers. Shaggy fur, or perhaps simply ribbons of gray-black skin, coat his thighs and a long, lashing tail.

Manus is a nightmarish beast of darkness, an infection that seeks to cause the horrors of Leng to overrun the Waking World. He was also once a man. The original Manus was a powerful magic user, according to his cult the first mortal to manipulate negative energy. Although his methods were cruel and his goals covetous, he was considered a great hero by his people and was buried with high honors. When his grave was robbed, however, his pendant was stolen from it. The pendant was broken, and whatever magic it contained had long seeped out of it, but Manus’ obsessive desire to reclaim his property caused his soul and memory to go wild, transforming into a creature of pure nightmare. Manus’ mausoleum is now the heart of the Chasm of the Abyss, a demiplane coterminous between Leng and the Material Plane, and it is here where the Father of the Chasm resides.

Manus wants things. His broken pendant most of all. His cultists sweep the planes searching for this relic, and whatever they find instead, they offer as tribute. Manus’ lair contains piles and piles of valuables, the riches of a dozen realities and a thousand kingdoms, and he cares for none of it except his amulet. Of course, it is the nature of his madness that if Manus ever retrieved his broken pendant, he would certainly find a new indignity to focus on and object or person to obsess over. He also collects hostages, although he rarely exchanges them and more often warps them into mutants or madmen through his very presence. Manus’ worshipers are as obsessive as he is, and his faith is attractive to stalkers, hoarders, social climbers and other people with warped and envious desires.

Combat is one of the few things that allows Manus to forget his pain and obsessions, and tends to attack first and ask questions of the corpses of his victims later. Although he is a powerful spellcaster, he usually leads with his physical attacks. He uses his channel negative energy ability to empower the Manus Catalyst, his signature hooked staff. Against multiple opponents, he tries to spread his attacks out, enjoying the suffering he causes before finishing them off with a mighty swat of his grotesquely hypertrophied hand. He usually doesn’t use his signature supernatural attack, in which he fires globes of cold and negative energy at his enemies, until reduced to below half hit points. Manus has not needed to flee a combat for thousands of years, and his arrogance and obsession is likely to lead him to fight to the death.

Special Abilities Aura of Lost Humanity (Su) Any humanoid that spends 24 hours within 240 feet of Manus must make a Fortitude save or gain the mutant template. The save DC starts at 10, then increases by +2 every day until it reaches its maximum DC, 34. If a creature is transformed in this fashion, it must make a Will save at the same DC or become chaotic evil in alignment. The save DC is Charisma based. Awesome Strike (Ex) When Manus uses makes a single attack using his Vital Strike chain of feats, he may make a combat maneuver as if using Awesome Blow if it hits with this attack. Channel Energy (Su) Manus can channel negative energy as if he were a 20th level cleric. He does not gain other cleric class abilities, such as spells or domains. Dark Orb Barrage (Su) As a standard action, Manus can fire a barrage of orbs of destructive darkness. Manus makes a single ranged touch attack against all creatures in a 60 foot cone. Immune to one energy type and resistance to another two energy types. Instead of being one of his resistances, Manus is immune to bleed and death effects.

A dream lord’s natural weapons, and any weapon it wields, count as chaotic and magical for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction

Occult (Ex) A dream lord gains Lucid Dreamer as a bonus feat, and can use  occult skill unlocks even if it lacks other psychic magic

Shield of Dreams (Su) A dream lord adds its Charisma modifier as a deflection bonus to its AC and CMD

Summon (Sp) Once per day, a dream lord can summon a CR 19 or lower encounter of thematically appropriate monsters.

Dream lords can grant spells to worshipers as detailed in their divine information. A worshiper can gain boons from performing an obedience to a dream lord, as per the Deific Obedience feat, but the boons granted are simple, appearing as a 2nd, 4th and 6th level spell usable as a spell-like ability twice per day.

Frenzy (Su) Manus can act as if under a haste spell for a number of rounds a day equal to his Hit Dice. Activating or ending this ability is a free action. Oversized Arm (Ex) Manus’ left arm always makes slam attacks as a primary natural weapon, even when Manus is wielding manufactured weapons. He deals twice his Strength modifier to damage with his slam attack. Manus’ slam deals bludgeoning and piercing damage. Profane Channeling (Su) Whenever Manus uses his channel negative energy, he can choose to do so as a swift action, to maximize the damage dealt (or healed), or double the area of the effect. Manus can choose only one of these enhancements at a time.

I've fully finished Mad Father! And time... for my final thoughts that I took awhile processing and I'm still in the process of processing it. The story is pretty good! The... entire family is messed up... Like, good on you Monika accepting the love of your life despite all his murderous crimes and then drawing the line at him harming your daughter and... adultery? (Monika can excuse murder but god forbid that man cheats on her. Monika is like: "I GIVE HIM MY EVERYTHING AND THAT'S WHAT I GET IN RETURN???" monika... the children please... the dude has been killing so many innocent people monika--)

Monika's a good mom, but as a person? Well, that's up for debate. I still like her though. Now the dad... At first I was like, okay, he murders people for whatever research he got going on, but at least he cares and loves his daughter. But that last part, yeah, nah... It was nice while it lasted though. And brooo... Aya are ya serious, Aya? Like are you fr rn??? Are you fr gurl???? Exasperated sigh but the signs were there and to be fair... if you're raised in a household with a dad that actively kills people and a mom that is 100% okay with that, chances are Aya is not gonna end up on Santa's good list.

It's just so sad cuz that blond kid had so much faith in her to Not go down the same path as her dad and I'm so sorry kid but that's unfortunately not possible. Also feeling bad for Maria cuz lady deserved a more "ordinary" life than being an assistant to more murders again. Like, Aya come on brrroooooo Whyyyyyyyy

ALSO as it turns out, the blond kid wasn't dead????? Like I went to check out the IF story in the gallery and that kid wasn't dead! Bruh Maria legit just nearly killed a kid and STEPPED ON HIM. Dude... Thanks Mr. Ogre for giving him that medicine even though you're most likely an evil guy but you're okay in my book. You were plenty helpful even though it's for selfish reasons, love the teleporting by the way (It helped a lot when going back to the portal area when I had to go aallll the way back to the entrance hall for the gems).

I love the last scene of the IF story cuz like aww... the blond kid so nice and I feel bad but that guy really gonna stop Aya if they met and Aya's on the same path as her dad (which she is). And like, aww kid, I'm so sorry (poor guy can't catch a break. Hope his eye injury heals well).

it would be interesting to find out more details regarding the first tag and what story they had in mind when it was being developed as a canon game. especially unknown's character ... who wasn't originally jun, but jun's younger sister named "hitomi [kazama]"

interesting enough, in concept arts - she has jin's mark on her left arm, which is the same arm jin has his. (in the games, unknown has it on her right - opposite of jin's.) which i may have brought this up before, forgive my memory - but it does make me wonder if there's a particular reason WHY only jin, "hitomi," and jun (noncanonicaly) have this mark whilst the other devil gene holders don't. maybe because kazamas are like natural enemies over the devils, the devils intentionally "brand" them as showing they've dominated their enemy.

she also has the mark bandaged in her school uniform. this could be that either she's ashamed of it, or she was just recently inflicted and it hurts (in the opening of tek3, it appears as though it's "burned" onto jin, so yeah - it might be painful)

though this leaves many questions now. how is she infected with the devil gene? (if that's what it is) with jin, it's because his father has it. but why would his aunt, with no connection to the mishimas, be affected? and what about the wolf spirit?

he appears to be controlling her like a puppet in this game. is a devil? was he conceived around the same time as hitomi was? although there's only one concept art of him-

interestingly enough, there are faces coming out of him. (which i think you can see faces in certain renders of him, just not as noticeable) what could this have meant? souls he have already took? seeing as unknown, in the first game, can mimic other fighters' styles, maybe it had something to do with that? the wolf is probably even more mysterious than unknown because once they've confirmed that unknown is jun in tag 2, he's completely gone, they've discarded his character. (other than easter eggs pertaining to him)

then i wonder if after they've dropped her being jun's sister... who was she supposed to be in the game? had they already planned her out to be just jun? people always theorized this (because it wasn't until tek6 when they admitted she was planned as jun's sister) because she always starts with jun's moveset, their similarity in appearance, as well as unknown being protective of jin in ogre's ending. but seeing as she was planned to be jun's sister - that could be why she always starts with her moveset in the boss fight. her being protective of jin... well, it's very possible an aunt would want to protect her nephew. and it's possible she's doubley mad at ogre for harming her sister.

and plus in her ending, when she frees herself from the wolf - her eyes are green, not brown like jun's. thoooo once they dropped the idea of her being a younger sister, and keeping her name entirely as "unknown" and never giving away her identity until stating their initial plans for her in tek6, and then ONLY revealing her as jun in tag 2... it could just be that they just wanted to keep her identity... well, unknown! and that's why she has green eyes, to help stray away thoughts that she could be jun.

A/N: this fic is an alternative story based on his card 100 yearnings of love (that he gets wasted in the entertainment quarter with oji). Futaba here is an adult and she works with her father. She is almost Koga's age. Btw, I wrote this fic almost a year ago but I was too lazy to edit it. Now it seems a great moment to post it, as today is Koga’s bday!!!! Happy birthday, my oni ogre. I’ll always always love you, even if I can’t play ayakashi anymore. Voltage can’t take you away from me!!!!

Koga went to town to have so fun with his friends. Thankfully, he can take the rest of the night off to chill, which is unusual considering there is always something urgent for him to do.

The entrepreneur always receives invitations to fancy parties and the likes, but today, he just wants to vibe with his closest friends.

These men are bachelors, who, by chance, also love sake. Their motto is to always drink to their heart's contents.

Today, a very traditional restaurant is holding a sake tasting in their establishment to promote local sake businesses. The perfect event for guys like Koga and his friends. And as expected, sake lovers would never say no to this unique opportunity.

All Koga wants after a busy week is to taste that nectar on his oni lips until he quenches his thirst.

After hours of tasting all the types of sake available, they were far from being tired of drinking. One of the female attendants approached the rowdy group to ask if they would still like another round of sake.

“Would you like more sake handsome boys?”, said you one of the female attendants.

“Oh yeah, We're just getting started! Hahaha.”

“Huh! As if I would lose to you, Koga. Bring it on, lady!”

“HAHAHA. That's the spirit, Akira!”

While the attendant was laughing at the boys’ enthusiasm, a second friend of Koga, Hokuto, started flirting with her.

“And what about you pretty lady? You must be tired of just serving us. Why don't you join us instead?”

“Yeahhh! Don't worry about your boss, we can deal with him later. I'm sure he will understand”, shouted an excited Akira.

“I would love to! Thank you. I'll just get your drinks first.”

“Now we are talking about! Koga, you saw that? Ahhh, today is our lucky day!!! Sake and women are an unbeatable combo!”

“So you make sure she sits next to you, Akira. I have nothing to do with that. I just want the sake, you know.”

“Ohh, here you go again. Don’t worry, Koga. Futaba is not gonna get mad at you, we were the ones who invited her.”

Then, by accident, Koga knocked over some glasses that were on the table, making a huge noise in the establishment.

Luckily, most people didn't notice because it was late at night and the remaining customers were also wasted or too busy talking and laughing loud.

“Oops, hahaha. Where those glasses came from?”

“Is that him panicking just to the possibility of his sweetheart seeing him here with other women?

“Oi, don't talk as if I was not here... Futaba is a busy woman, but she is very understanding. No way she would… Ahhh, I don’t need to give you any explanation!”

“I'll pay for the broken glasses. Look, I have money!”

“Hahaha I thought you were going to use that money to buy more sake though!”

“Oh shit, true! But no worries! There is more where this came from! HAHAHA”

The attendant comes back with more sake for the rowdy men. After serving them, she sits at the table and starts drinking too.

But it doesn’t take long before one of the coworkers approaches to let her know she needs to get back to work because another group of costumers just arrived and someone needs to serve them.

As all the other attendants were extra busy, she excuses herself to wait on the other clients.

“Wow, kinda late to enter now, isn't it? What time is it anyway?”

“Hehehe, I don't know. But they are no idiots, Hokuto. Look those ladies with them.”

“Shit! Isn’t that…!”

Koga turns his head around to see what his friends were talking about. That's when he sees Futaba with some ladies and gentlemen sitting at a table on the other side of the establishment.

“WTF!?”. Without thinking twice, Koga gets up clumsily and rushes toward the table where Futaba just sat. His friends try to stop him, but they are too wasted to hold an infuriated and confused Koga, who was not ashamed of throwing a fit in public.

“Are you guys going to try some of these special sakes?”, said a cheerful Futaba.

“Futaba!”

“Huh? What was that?”. Futaba turns around to see Koga screaming her name from the other side of the restaurant. She gets shocked when she sees her beloved Koga walking towards her as if he was going to kill someone.

“What is happening, Futaba?”

“Err... I'm not sure myself. If you excus...”

“What are you doing?”, whispers one of Futaba’s female friends. “Do not leave the table with our patrons here! They will get offended.”

“Listen, I don’t know what Koga is doing here, but knowing him, it would be best if I try to calm him down first. He doesn't know these men. He may be worried about my safety…”

“No, Futaba. Stay here. You’ll make things worse. Now sit here next to me.”

In a split second, Koga approaches Futaba’s table. The oni ogre is foaming at the mouth. His red eyes shone like flames as if he was in a war zone ready to take the enemy down.

“ YOU TELL ME RIGHT NOW WHAT IS THIS!”

“Koga, can you please stop screaming? Your behavior next to my patrons is not acceptable! Let’s talk…”

“And who the fuck is that man? Get the fuck out of here, drunkard. If you touch any of the ladies here I will ask my bodyguards to kick you out right now!”, shouted one of the men at Futaba’s table.

“AM I TALKING TO YOU?! If you dare to interrupt my conversation with Futaba one more time. You'll regret ever coming here.”

“That's outrageous! This fucker needs to go immediately!”

Koga and the other men at Futaba's table kept yelling at each other when another friend of hers tried to cool down their spirits.

“Do you know who this guy is? Please, we are talking to Koga Kitamikado! It must be just some misunderstanding, okay? He is Futaba's lover. I'm sure he has his reasons to come here. Let’s all solve this like adults.”

“Yes, Sakura is right. I can handle this. It won't take long, I promise. I will just explain to Koga...”

“I don't give a fuck if he is a Kitamikado or not. No man is gonna ruin our...”

Before the man can finish his sentence, Koga punches the guy so hard that he goes down like a sack of potatoes, letting everyone in the establishment astonished by what they had just witnessed.

“KOGAAAA! LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! YOU PUNCHED ONE OF MY PATRONS!”

Koga's friends, who were watching the whole scene, decide to intervene once again by talking to the other men at Futaba's table and to Koga as well.

"Who on earth were the other men thinking? Inviting Fubata in the middle of the night to the entertainment quarter and expecting to get away with it with Koga watching the whole thing? Don’t these men hear the rumors about Koga and Futaba?", said a resigned Hokuto.

Somehow, even though they are all drunk, they manage to control the commotion. One of Koga’s friends escorted Futaba’s female friends, and the man who Koga knocked out was taken to the hospital. According to the rumors, he was conscious. Futaba and Koga took a carriage back to his place before he could assault other people.

Once the duo gets to Koga’s manor, Futaba promptly helps to carry him inside.

“Here, Koga. Let me help you. Come on. We're home. I mean... in your house.”

“I’m fine. I’m fine!”

“I think I'll beg to differ, but okay, if you're fine then you can go to your room by yourself while I head to my house.”

“Futaba, wait... Are you hurt? If those fuckers did something to you...”

“Please, stop it. You're exaggerating. It was just a business meeting. Look, we're getting close to your room. Don’t be too loud, okay? You may wake up, Kuya. And we don’t want that.”

After putting Koga on his bed, Futaba looks for some other blankets for Koga when she sees those red eyes staring at her.

“What is it, Koga?”

“Futaba… I’ll solve it, okay?”

“Huh?”

“I’ll not let anyone ruin your reputation because of me. I’ll talk to them tomorrow. Just stay the night here.”

Now knowing how to say no to those pleading red eyes looking at her, Futaba gets some extra blankets for herself as well.

Lily’s family had recently opened their own pet hospital, ‘Helping Paws Animal Hospital. After breakfast, Lily started feeding the animals. Her best friend and neighbor, ‘Jess’ came along and told her that today is the first day of summer break. After they were done helping an injured deer, they saw a strange cat running off off to Brightley Stream,It was a  stream with stepping stones on it. Jess’s father is a  dad science teacher and hardly sees a cat like that, They followed the cat to a tree with carved plaque that says, ‘FRIENDSHIP FOREST’ Throught the door, they entered a vast world where it looked like Alice In Wonderland By the Toadstool cafe, they begin to wonder where they were,  “You are in The Friendship Forest” said a voice.

It was the same cat they were helping earlier. As it turns out, the girls shrunk to animal size when they’re in The Friendship Forest. The cat introduced herself as, ‘Goldie’ and told her animal friends to come out. They were astonished because they never saw humans before. Goldie has a special gift for coming to and back from the human world. She had her paw hurt in the human world when a nice woman brought Goldie to the Helping Paws Animal Hospital. 

They were greeted by Captain Ace, a stork, and the owners of The Toadstool cafe, ‘Mr. And Mrs. Longwhiskers’, who were both rabbits. Their young daughter, ‘Lucy’ wanted to take them around the Friendship Forest. Her parents said that it was okay, just as long as she doesn’t get hurt and they stay together.

Amongst the forest, Goldie showed her Blossom Briar, a special grove of flowers that connects all the flowers in The Friendship Forest. Goldie also explained that it’s in danger. A few days ago, Goldie was picking berries when she saw a mysterious figure destroying flowers. Jess and Lily had a feeling that she was a witch. They knew that witches only exist in stories, but not in the real world. All of the sudden, the witch known as, ‘Griselda’ came in and demanded The Friendship Forest, but Goldie refused. Outraged, Griselda summoned her henchmen, Boggits, which looked like ogres. Lucy tried to fight them off, but they kidnapped her.

Following their trail of dead flowers, they could find the home of Mr. Cleverfeather, the local inventor owl with a speech problem. He explained that he could take them to where The Boggits are, just take his secret path to the outskirts of the forest.

At the end of the path, they found Lucy trapped in a cage made of vine rope and roof. Jess immediately untied the cage and freed her. The Boggits tried to fight back, but Jess blew from a long log hole and a whirlwind of flower petals covered them. Grizelda was so mad, she whooshed the Boggits away.

Back by the Toadstool Cafe, Lucy’s parents were relieved to see their daughter safe. As a reward, they gave Jess and Lily some cake, blackberry juice, and strawberry soda. Then it was time to go home.

Back in the human world, time stood still. Jess and Lily decided never to tell anyone else about it, because they’ll think it was all a fairytale.
