What's something you despise about lore discourse in the souls community? For me it's a bunch of stuff, but imo the most annoying thing is when those incredibly stubborn and rude people, who only know lore on a surface level ans from fucking reddit memes, decide it's their time to shine and impose they're most of the time objectively incorrect opinion over your reasoned and backed-by-evidence one. I swear to god it's annoying.

One example I can think of for this is how incredibly dirty my glorious king Manus gets done by a lot of players. And I will elaborate below this amazing fanart by @maranigai (p.s. maranigai if you ever read this i love ur art work sm)

No, illiterate souls players who have chosen they can't be bothered to actually learn lore and decide to brute force their made up ideas instead, Manus didn't have a personal beef with Artorias nor Sif. No he is not pure evil. No he originally didn't want the Abyss to spread. And the Abyss in queation took form as a consequence of him getting fucking tortured so go figure. AND NO, FOR FUCK'S SAKE, HE DID NOT IMPREGNATE DUSK. THAT. NEVER. HAPPENED I HATE THAT "THEORY" FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. DARK SOULS 2 EXPLICITELY STATES THE "CHILDREN" OF DARK WERE BORN FROM MANUS' FRAGMENTS OF DARKNESS BEING IMBUED WITH HIS LINGERING EMOTIONS AFTER HE DIED. THEY ARE NOT LITERAL, BEGOTTEN CHILDREN. DUSK IS NOT THEIR MOTHER. NASHANDRA LOOKS LIKE DUSK AND SO WHAT? THAT HAS A WHOLE DIFFERENT, SYMBOLIC REASON BEHIND IT. NASHANDRA IN HER BOSS FORM HAS SKULLS DOES THAT MEAN MANUS FUCKED NITO???
