kinda irrelevant to the conversation, but i notice "blackwashing" is often done out of love or admiration for a character while whitewashing is usually done to "fix" a character or like, made with negative intentions. There are some instances of people making characters darker to "fix" them, but the only one i can think og is genshin fans with characters from the two nations that are supposed to have more darkskinned characters so idk.. correct me on anything i got wrong :3
