my fav type of couple right now is "when they are similar but not the same"
like avery grambs x jameson hawthorne (the inheritance games), nora stephens x charlie lastra (book lovers), tory nichols x robby keene (cobra kai), yeo reum x dae beom (summer strike)
for me there is something very special about these couples that consist of people who are so similar that they understand each other better than anyone else, but still there are differences between them that help elevate the relationship
i know many people love the "opposites attract" type of couple and nothing against it, but the "we are similar" (i think you can call it that, right?) is simply superior to me

Summer strike
i love how it’s so real and talks about many problems in our society and how i and many people absolutely relate to the main character
the feeling of repeating the same day everyday, waking up going to work getting mistreated taken advantage of and coming home again just to go to bed and repeat that again
she gets tired of everything and decides not to go to work and go on a journey where she sees the beauty of the countryside the mountains the clouds the fields everything and she decides to drop everything and live HER LIFE
she has a hard time adjusting and gets herself a bad reputation due to her drinking problem and meets the male lead in a weird situation and have many awkward interactions together but form a bond in the library he works at over time
as the relationship develops they run into lots of mystery’s and crimes whilst learning the male leads backstory.
MY OPINION!!
i love the vibe this show has but i dislike the crime it feels like it was just shoved in there to make it seem “intresting” and give it some sort of conflict when it should’ve just stayed as a wholesome countryside romance
i also disliked how the romance felt rushed towards the end. They liked each other throughout but didn’t do anything affectionate until the last ep where they held hands and it felt like they put it there “just because” when they should’ve slowly built up the affection whilst their bond grew together
i heavily disliked siwons drinking problem and found it very annoying at some parts of the show but i guess it builds up her character?? but aside from that she was a likeable character towards the end
i loved daebeom. he’s the closest to someone of my ideal type with a very soft and genuine look towards themself and also an introverted personality
i loved the countryside setting aswell as it is a place i’d love to live in when i retire

A small mix of BL icons for everyone's taste. I have been half obsessed with several of them so I needed to share something about it here for the memory. I confess that I still have some left to read, but we're on it.
