Officially I have finished watching all of Our Flag Means Death

Officially I am emotionally wrecked

I barely have any coherent words it’s mostly just a jumble of feelings swirling around

I’m very very very very very sad about Izzy

But I’m very happy in general for everyone

I’m fucking devastated it’s over

I just. I cried. Quite a lot. This is a few minutes after finishing it cause I literally could not come up with anything to say at first I was just Ouch.

But, this was an absolutely wonderful experience and I enjoyed every second of it.

All I want to say is to everyone who made this wonderful show, from the bottom of all of our hearts, thank you.

I believe the time has finally come for me to watch Our Flag Means Death S2. If this new Putlocker I have to use in green bc the blue one is not working fucking allows me to.

I honestly don't know how I'll go w this liveblog I guess I'll just kinda improvise because it's only one season but last time my liveblog was 100+ rbs long and I don't like that for multiple reasons yet I don't want to do the AVED approach where I only did 3 rbs per episode and the rest in the tags bc that's awkward. But then again I've been trying to make my liveblogs shorter by putting various paragraphs on a single RB and idk how much I'll have to say rn so........

Anyway I barely remember s1 LMAO 😭 no idea what to expect ❤️

UGH OKAY i don’t want to throw myself into the raging sea of izzy opinions but can we talk about the fact that his death was actually narratively satisfying and serves as something to continue to drive the narrative and characters on even past his death??????????? izzy owning up to egging Blackbeard on was the only way ed could ever move on, it’ll also be the first real consequence stede has faced for living his piratical dream life and That Is Going To Change Him, izzy works best (as a character) as a martyr, i’m not happy about it either but we can’t pretend like the writers did not give us DELICIOUS developments to round it all off and make it feel correct

The dinner scene in s1e5 hits hard bc i swear I am genuinely terrified of ordering something new at a restaurant and eating it wrong in front of everyone. I never want to eat lobster or oysters despite the fact that I love seafood bc I simply do not understand them. If I ever go to a real fancy restaurant I'll need to bring an expert with me who will tell me exactly what to do the entire time or I might also try to kill someone

Ok ok I've watched first four episodes of ofmd season 2

Like with any show that had an overwhelming fan response you do worry they take the wrong lessons or flatten it out, but I don't feel like that had happened here. In fact, it goes whole pussy out almost to it's detriment - I feel like the writers struggle to write episodes which have to move a lot of plot forward organically - the first two episodes feel really weird pacing wise and the situations (which are interesting) or the many new characters don't have much space to breathe.

But the charms of the show lie in it's character writing, which remains enjoyable especially once the big plot stuff gives way.

Also @rexaleph I have to admit the lesbians really worked for me 😔 Maybe because their vibe was less "wholesome couple who does free couples therapy for the men" and more, how to put it. Bored cunts who want to watch Stede and Ed bite each other to death. Also I thought they were both like. So hot. Like when Anne stabs Mary with a butter knife? I felt that.

Also just a little detail, but when Ed makes himself the bride cake topper? That was a little something for me ❤️
