Rainy day, blanket work. So happy it's big enough to put over my legs while I add new patches, lol, it's so bright and warm on the dreary days.

And Happy Birthday to me too! Lol, having a nice chill day with my Mini Pirate Flag Blanket and a nice slice of cake to celebrate. (Strawberry Funfetti, cause never too old for sprinkles.)

Okay, this one is not good enough. But I spent so much time with this one, that I just show it to you. There is nice mechanisms and nice pages, but it not work as smoothly as I want. There is a reason for that, I do more and more pop up -book elements and lesser basic paper mechanisms. Because of that the binding of this book is not good. I know how to do it on future, but it was too late with this one - I need to build the pages in another way.

So, next one will be better. Maybe someone like to see this one too - so here we go.

i have slowly been putting together an OFMD Swede cosplay for an upcoming event, and i thought itd be fun and interesting to try and twist my own rope and dye the fabric for the shirt myself with 🥑🥑🥑 (process pics under the cut). just need to attach the drawstring to the collar now and find a way to fasten the hemp suspenders - and maybe bleach my hair :^)

With s2 coming out next week I thought I would share this cross stitch of the OFMD lighthouse painting that I made earlier in the year. I had an idea to embroider a kraken over the top but never got round to it. Maybe one day!

✨I finished it✨

The Lighthouse and the Kraken, my silly little idea for something to do with a damaged ceramic lighthouse I had that turned into one of the most labour intense art projects I've ever done. I poured so many hours and love into this thing, and posting the progress on here and having you guys cheering it on kept me motivated to see it through❤️ (even when I had to take a break for a few weeks because my shoulder got worn out from working on it)

I've been working on this for the last couple of months now but I've almost finished my big Our Flag Means Death pattern, just a couple of edits to make and then I'll finish the hoop!

Little OFMD characters made by me from hama beads / fuse beads. I ran out of grey so I can't make an Ed yet.

"Tis I, Calypso."

My lady presented me with a new challenge when I started working on her because all my muppets are torso-up, only. I have got a pair of legs I can use for them, but generally, they're big enough to go on my forearm.

But for this one, I wanted to include her dress with its froth and glam. This meant putting a hand-hole in her back instead of going up-and-under. It also means she's more than 3 feet long including all the skirts.

I also made new patterns for the head and body to give her a bit more shape than my standard model and resized the arms to match. Also made new eye moulds for The Drama. The make-up and tattoos were all painted/inked on, except the eyelashes and lids which were done with felt. The wig, beard and moustache were all cut with razor and stitched and shaped.

Full disclosure: the dress was a work of improv. I used no measuring tools and eyeballed everything 😂Winging it, this is the way. Just draped it, pinned it and snipped and hoped for the best. And to be honest, I'm delighted :D

(side note, trying to film and/or take photos of a very long muppet when you don't have very long arms and anyone else to take pictures is... challenging)

Literally nearly half a year later, here's a second panel of my Our Flag Means Death crocheted flag afghan. I've not been working on it for five months, mind you, I just lose focus on crochet projects pretty regularly, and go back and forth between working ravenously on things or not touching them for months on end. I'm working on trying to build a more regular crocheting habit at this point after picking it back up to make a baby blanket for a coworker, so hopefully it won't take me another five months to finish another flag.

I have to admit, I didn't actually notice this flag was different from the first cat flag in any of my many viewings of the show. I was raking my brain for a good eighth flag for my blanket when I found the reference pictures for this one, and I'm so glad I did, for a couple of reasons: First, I was torn between doing a bloody version of the first cat flag or doing the behind-the-scenes version of Stede Bonnet's historical flag with the cat in place of the flag, but I'd much rather have 8 completely unique flags that all appeared in the show. Second, this makes it so I have 4 tan flags and 4 black flags, which is so much easier to work with for layout purposes. Third, I'm a massive cat person, so I love that there's three different cat flags for the blanket.

Mini Pirate Flag Blanket Update!

Life and other orders made it harder to get patches sewn together, but got a good few rows added. So now seemed like a great time to show the progress.

Think I can get it to a good size before Calypso's Birthday? Lol.
