if you need cheap offline storage like me: quick tiktok tutorial here

I'm increasingly annoyed by how small storage gets in laptop, while games and movies and such are such big files. So I was looking for an alternative to the cloud because I don't trust it fully (and what if you lose access to internet for any reason??? or can't pay for cloud storage?????)

a 2 hard drives docking is about 30-40 euros on amazon, browse for best prices etc. I can rec you the one I purchased if you'd like.

if you have an (unused) tv box somewhere, check it out for a hard drive inside (that's what i did)

if you don't have one, you could find one while thrifting. Don't spend too much on it! about 5 euros like in the video or in that price range.

you only need a small cross screwdriver, the docking, and you will get to save all your files offline :)

of course it's not SSD storage, but HDD. It's a bit slower, but we're looking to store files, not start an OS or anything like that. IMO SSD is nice for an OS but the speed is not needed to access regular files. And once your SSD is freed of non OS/non game files? You get all that space for the things that do need the SSD speed. Best of both worlds.

You know, sometimes I forgot that other people aren't as insane as I am and don't have over 1300 photos of the immortal space pirate band they're obsessed with saved to their phone, and that people usually don't spend an entire week uploading all of those photos to a Pinterest account just so they could access them on different devices and set up an organisation system despite the fact that Pinterest timed them out for spam every 50 images and they had to wait a few hours before going at it again. speaking of vsynth songs a while back i started making a playlist that was originally just gonna be every original song i like regardless of newness or popularity (i like having playlists that are several hundred songs long) but i got distracted and never did that past the first couple songs BUT i have since just been adding any new or new-to-me songs that i like, if u wanna see. like two thirds are pretty big songs with 10s or 100s of thousands of views, even millions BUT theres also some like 200 view wonders i think are really great!!
