Like these, for a start. If you saw TMS' Kaito specials through the old-school DCTP releases, you might remember these little intro bumpers—and wonder why there never seemed to be a copy without hardsubs. Alas, they've always been TV-exclusive, and any not-dead download you could find in this fine decade is bound to be from a home release.

Was there ever any big outcry for good, clean versions? Hell knows. But we hope you enjoy anyway.

Last time, we brought you Gosho's earliest commentaries on his favorite son (including Definitive Proof he is the favorite!). What could possibly stack up to that?

How 'bout a piece of lost art, never-before-seen by gaijin eyes?

As some of you may recall, our dear Kaito(u) landed his first chapter on the last week of May, 1987. But a week before that was this: Weekly Shonen Sunday, Vol. 29, Issue 25 and its unassuming little Previews page.

That's right. You're looking at the first Kaito ever published in Sunday—the first, and in all likelihood the most forgotten. Never reused, never collected, Gosho Aoyama himself probably doesn't remember drawing it. But we do. And through the tireless efforts of @marivanilla05, @runecel, and @chatlote we present it here, remastered and revived.

Ah, right. You want to know what all those words up there mean too, don't you?

the AnWL guide by dengeki arrived in the mail today and i’m losing my mind so have some Just Rock rough translation stuff

this guide is more thorough and like. official? with cute comics and even an interview with wada… (i translated the rock one asap but gustafa and marlin have ones too! and a bunch of cute pony!!! yayyyy!)

i wanna sit down and translate and format more sections in full when i have time, but for now i’ll just share a few rock snippets then get back to Drawring because i will explode if i don’t!

starting with the point blank shotgun blast to the face because the guide fell open to this page and i was immediately KOd by it!!

i guess that’s not the biggest surprise but i’m more surprised that they just outright said it in his little bio… i think this is the closest to canon closure we’ll get on this mystery

the interview with yasuhiro wada is extremely interesting. he breaks down the personalities of the bachelors and their dynamics with the rivals. i want to post it but i’m especially anxious about making a mistake in anything mr. wada says so i want to consult with someone who knows japanese past a sufficient-to-play-farming-game-level first

I love that Feng Xin and Mu Qing are the exact same height. It has a lot of potential for foolery. Like one of them probably started wearing bigger shoes secretly to establish dominance, and it's slowly escalating into a full on heel measuring contest.

A.Sphere: What the- Who are you???

Sometimes I like to think of an alternate reality to "A Heightlander's Escape" where, like in Sphereland, A. Sphere survived the war but was super shunned by everyone as a result and more so after learning about the reality of the 4th dimension.

In this reality, A. Tesseract meeting A. Sphere was a complete accident. She just intended to pass though, but miscalculated the area she was phasing through, and as a result getting caught by A. Sphere.

Since she never shows him the "real" 4th dimension, she looks like a floating growing and shrinking cube more than a 4D being. A.Sphere got flash-banged by the explosion and damaged on his right side, so he has glasses and a brace. (The glasses are only for reading tho)

Below are some "spoilers" kinda sorta for Sphereland. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it, especially if you liked Flatland but thought the obsessive amount of misogyny was kinda wack (it's still sexist but it's like better-ish... Plz don't clip that-):

In the book, the Sphere visits Hexagon like 70 years after basically kidnapping and traumatizing his grandpa. So I guess taking people from their original plane of existence and spreading the gospel is only done every 1000 years because of ... principle?? Idk, it didn't make sense, but it makes me think.

Also the idea that the Sphere is so lonely and isolated that he decides to track down the grandkid of the dude he kidnapped jst so he had someone to vent to basically is both really funny and super-duper sweet. I love that for all of them honestly.

So that but A. Sphere and Hex's fam lol.

Mind you, Hex is a grandpa here and A. Sphere is like middle-aged (40s). Doen't halt hospitality tho, what a chad.

Also, these things are the greatest things ever. Everyone needs to like these things.
