so i took the forgotten Lupin Junior and made him my oc.
You guys remember the spinoff manga Monkey Punch wrote called Lupin Jr.?? Bout Lupin's son? I miss him. So here's a continuation / Lupin the 4th concept I made for a grown-up Junior goin on heist adventures with a band of thieves and an inspector on his tail, just like his old man!
Cast info below:
♦️ Arsène Lupin the 4th-- known by all as Lupin Junior (much to his chagrin sometimes)-- is the son of infamous thieves Lupin III and Fujiko Mine. Though he isn't well known just yet, and he is widely underestimated, Junior knows one day he'll be able to surpass his own dad as the world's greatest thief!
💚 Marilyn Aiki-- Junior's childhood friend (also a character from the original manga)-- a witty, charming and adventurous girl who became Junior's self-declared partner in crime. She sticks by Junior's side through thick and thin, though she has to reel him back from his impulsivity sometimes.
🌂 Jiro Yamazato-- A reserved and gruff former assassin, he was saved by Junior despite the thief being an assigned target, and now vows to protect the gang. Despite his roughened exterior, Jiro is gentle and selfless.
🗡 Goemon Ishikawa XIV-- Daughter of samurai Goemon XIII, wielding the Zantetsuken passed down to her that can cut through even the toughest steels. The stoic yet confident and sarcastic Goe grew up with Junior, and as much as they annoy each other their sibling-like bond is too strong for even her sword to cut through.
☀️ Inspector Hiromi Zenigata-- Daughter of Koichi Zenigata, Hiromi is an excitable, optimistic and determined ICPO officer. She's just as loud and persistent as her Pops, stopping at nothing to track down and arrest Junior, though it's clear she has a great soft spot for the entire gang.
Anyways yea!!! I really wanted to share them to my tumblr!!!

brother. sister. sibling. random thought for your hyper specific headcanon deprived brain. does the gang do those lowkey boring newspapers games like crosswords, sudoku, spot the difference and the like?
you don’t know how delighted i was about this because Yeah. They do :)
but let’s get into hyper specific headcanon details here
YAAAY BORING NEWSPAPER GAMES
lupin:
i think i’ve talked about how lupin loves little puzzles and stuff and i think he honestly can get into all of the above
HE JUST REALLY LIKES LITTLE THINGS LIKE THAT IN ALL KINDS numbers words shapes he’s FINE he’ll mess with ‘em ALL to his heart’s content!!
that said he’ll start them and never finish them and the others hate it. what’s the fun of a half-done game dude
jigen:
AS WE SAW ABOVE jigen actually really likes this kinda shit. it’s peaceful without being understimulated and outright boring, and he can somewhat tune out distracting noise while he’s doing them
he is all about crosswords in particular dude he loves that shit
probably does them in the car during long boring rides and every time lupin’s like “doesn’t reading in the car make you sick” he's like “oh 14 across. nauseous. thanks man”
fujiko:
it's not that she thinks she's ABOVE it but she’s not suuuper into it. usually she just checks to see if there’s anything interesting in the BULK of the paper. she checks garfield first, goes “oh good it’s still unfunny” and then go “OH DAMN MAJOR FIRE OUTBREAK YESTERDAY MORNI
that said if she’s bored on a flight or something and it's the only thing to do she’ll cave easy peasy
she’s probably the best at sudoku out of the bulk of them just because she can kinda turn off her inner monologue for a minute and just. close her eyes and surprise it’s done!
goemon:
initially didn’t care and now only cares in very specific bursts. like he’ll go a year without touching one and then pick one up by accident and lock in
he doesn’t budge the entire duration it takes for him to finish the puzzle
like they if they catch even a whiff of “damn he’s really feelin that newspaper today” they just throw it away and say oh nothing important! nothing important was there. we have to leave in 15 minutes goemon
zenigata:
WORDSEARCHES. I DON’T KNOW WHY BUT I’M FEELIN WORDSEARCHES
he probably had one of those little road trip books they made. yknow like at gas stations and stuff I DUNNO IF THEY STILL MAKE THEM BUT Y’KNOW but then he was like this is all fucking lame and easy. who cares that much about autumn items
so he doesn’t INDULGE a lot but sometimes he’ll have a lil fun with it. usually when it’s boring and slow on the office side of things. i keep forgetting that’s like. actually part of his job and not just the screaming out the side of a cop car portion
#i wanted to get like. comically unnecessarily descriptive with this but#i'm picking my boyfriend up from the airport tomorrow and if i don't post this NOW i'm sure i'll forget about it until monday#and i dont wanna DO that to you hyperspecific anon!#lupin iii#lupin the third#lupin#jigen#fujiko#goemon#zenigata

Pulptober 2024 Day 24-Team of Elites-Lupin III gang
I stumbled across this funny activity that based on Pulp Hero prompts and it seems to allow for anyone participation(hope I didn't misunderstand),so I took the liberty of coming uninvited(And I'm obviously posted late).I think Lupin the Third is one of the most pulp-style long-going anime series that still going now,and one of the most common story templates is how the protagonist and his companions become a team of adaptive anti-hero,so they deserve to be put under this topic.
This adventuring team consists of four capable criminals who are equal and independent,Lupin the third is usually the mastermind and the one leading the action, but he isn't a real leader and the gang isn't named after him or anyone else. All of them can carry out theft or other criminal work alone.Compared with professional criminal groups with clear division of labor, they are more like a family of professional thieves with their own specialties, and it's interesting to see how they work closely together while maintaining their own independence and sometimes conflicting for that.
Daisuke Jigen(次元大介) is the closest one who is literally an assistant of Lupin on the gamg, even though he actually isn't,and he is definitely the member who drives and smokes with Lupin on screen the most. The two interacted so frequently and naturally that some fans jokingly called Jigen the gayest man alive(On the other hand many fans believe they're bisexual). He is the best gunman of them and known for his extraordinary shooting ability and familiarity with various firearms,on the contrary he rarely shows his (not bad) hand-to-hand combat ability.I think sometimes people put too much emphasis on his feuding moments with Fujiko,he was often angry at her betrayal, but most of the time he did not blame her any more than Lupin and Goemon did except verbally.
Goemon Ishikawa XIII(石川五ェ門) is a character who is a symbol of Japanese/East-Asian culture that deliberately placed in this Westernized(for the Japanese at the time) gang, although it's far from a stereotype,he is undoubtedly the member who has the most clearly culture marked, that includes a samurai/ronin costume,a Japanese sword and his Iaidō skills, which makes him the only member who does not use firearms and has a irreplaceable skill(swordsmanship). He is often as a handy member to cut through bullets, obstacles or various things in front of them, and the one most often leaves the team for personal reasons(Except Fujiko when she betrayed them).
Fujiko Mine(峰不二子) is the regular femme fatale in this series, but in my experience, even few of characters of this type could be like her that able to maintain the companionship with a gang she betrayed multiple times, especially considering she isn't the leader.Fujiko is a wind card between Lupin gang and their opponents, she often betrays them, also often betrays their enemies and returns to the gang after considering the situation,or is rescued by them after being betrayed by their enemies, and fairly, working with them in good faith many times.Regardless of her initial decision, finally she always ends up siding with the gang at critical moments since of luck or intentionality.
Koichi Zenigata(錢形幸一) is the Inspector Ganimard of Lupin the third,he is an Interpol police officer who has traveled around the world for many years to hunt down Lupin III,but they respect each other and have a special friendship with each other.Of course Zenigata can't be a real member of the Lupin gang, but like other empathetic inspector characters,he is often involved in their fights with other criminal forces, and is usually willing to join them in fighting against more evil elements for the sake of morality and justice, whether both are acting independently or actually working together. This happens so often that make Zenigata deserves to be considered a special member of the gang, and becomes the best and worst cop:he is unable to arrest Lupin most of the time, but thanks to this he has achievements in fighting crime that ordinary police officers cannot match.
#pulp heroes#pulptober 2024#Team of Elites#Lupin III#Daisuke Jigen#Goemon Ishikawa XIII#Fujiko Mine#Koichi Zenigata#I'm also hope to post about Hero for Hire but I need more time#Btw the theme song of Lupin III (season 2) maybe the anime theme song with the most version of variations

i have unprompted lupin-esque questions pop into my stream of conscious, interrupting my day-to-day wholesale, and one of them is "damn. does lupin only have three companions because zenigata never caved and joined him". like what kind of question is that??
i think its one of the more recurring ones because the sorta lines in lupin tv/films that're like "kinda surprising you're a cop" or "you'd fit in real well with us" or, the wombo combo of the two, "your skills are wasted on your job" really dig into my brain and won't feckin' leave.
in a lot of iterations, jigen and goemon meet lupin when they're tasked with killing him. fujiko's essentially his other rival. and yet, despite whatever the rest of the gang may be doing or whoever they pledge themselves to or whatever other jobs they might take on they always wind up right next to lupin again. on the same team, even.
and then there's zenigata. the sole obstinate holdout. they truce, they save each other's lives, have an avengers bonus credit scene shawarma lunch, etc etc. yet he isn't *with* them. he dips after they stop some evil billionaire from blowing up a city for some asinine power/profit grab or whatever the fuck, shouting that he'll "get them next week" while comically shaking his fist at the sky, and jigen rolls his eyes for the dozenth time and goes "that guy'll never change, will he". no jigen, he won't. when things calm down he'll sit alone in his office and do paperwork for all the property damage he caused with lupin & co. like he always does.
lupin and zenigata prefer it that way, obviously. they know their roles and how to play them. zenigata's too good to be a cop but he's also too good to be with lupin. lupin will kill in self-defense whereas zenigata will *not* kill, period. a la "life is a much more incredibly significant thing".
and then there's the *other* obviously-- the adversarial aspect. they can only *truly* challenge each other if they're on opposing sides. jigen stuck around after lupin beat him. goemon pledged his allegiance to lupin after he bested him. fujiko cozies up to lupin because it's easier than outright contesting him. but lupin is the best criminal and zenigata is the best cop. of course they'll never swap sides. they have the most fun from where they are.
"but tackyyy, what if he *did* join them?" you may ask. well whether it'd be cathartic for zenigata or not aside, there's some other q's that come up that deserve some consideration.
would the gang finally be "complete" if zenigata finally shed his inspector title? what would that look like, how would it work out? what does that even *mean*? is lupin just collecting people he thinks are neat? if so, if a hypothetical (realllllllly emphasizing that hypothetical btw) fourth-- someone with skills on the right level and surprisingly good chemistry with the gang-- came along, would lupin welcome them? or would lupin look at zenigata and go "nah, i'd rather have *that* guy"? lots of stuff to explore.
but at the end of the day there's one thing that really gets my brain gears turning. i think zenigata's higher-ups imagine him on lupin's side and shudder. i think *zenigata* imagines himself on lupin's side and shudders. i think the only way his full potential can be realized is if he's with lupin *permanently*. those blips of unbridled feral skill wouldn't be blips anymore. they'd be normal. and devastating. and the five of them would be unstoppable. and maybe that'd scare him, finally knowing exactly what he's capable of. maybe it *already* scares him, knowing he's the only one who can decide what happens.
#lupin iii#z#5#lots to stew in#man i love writing total nonsense about these guys#i kinda like the art/textpost buffer so i think i'll keep doing that#will i ever implement this? prolly not lol. but i HAVE seen/read other people who handled it better than i ever could#next day notes:#MIGHT have written this in a fervor in the middle of reading a different post#only to finish this and continue said post and see some similar stuff come up and go oop-- o_o"#idk maaaaybe im getting on the right track lmao. took a year and a half of breathing almost exclusively this fandom but yeah#i will attempt to write luzeni yet

“I’m the one everybody’s waiting for…”
“Scream for me, a romantic modern hero!”
Y/N the 3rd is an AU based around the show Lupin the 3rd (who’d a thunk!/silly). Y/N here will be based around Lupin, Sun on Jigen and Moon on Goemon! And we can’t forget Eclipse, who’ll take the place of Fujiko and Vanessa as our favourite Inspector Zenigata!
Y/N is the third thief of world class thieves from the (L/N) Family! Moon, Sun and Eclipse are bots made by an underground famous robotics corporation that fronts as a state of the art children’s pizzeria!
The three bots had managed to escape the Pizzeria at some point. Sun had escaped and met Y/N along the way, tagging with them as a close companion. Moon had managed to find his way to the property of a clan descended from a legendary hero, who luckily took the bot in and trained him. Eclipse made his own way and became a jewel thief, eventually running into both Y/N and Sun, and later on seeing Moon.
Vanessa is the lead Inspector, usually charged to hunt down Y/N, who she heard rumours of them going to the pizzeria to steal something form the CEOs office, there were also rumours about the place that she wanted to look into while she was there. When the bots escaped, the same night she went to investigate, all parties were present and when the bots and Y/N escaped, it was assumed Y/N had stolen the bots.
Though it appears something else happened that night, after that there was a small shift in the air. The air of a bigger threat.

ごめん友よ. I just finished finals week, and alas had little time to write.
……….
There was a tentative knock at the door. Jigen and Goemon both stood up, and grabbed at their weapons, which they only just then realized had been in the car this entire time. They looked at each other as if calling the other an idiot without saying a thing.
There was another knock. Jigen went over to the door slowly and cracked it open. Fujiko rolled her eyes at his caution from behind the crack.
She pushed the door open, “Where is he?”
Goemon gestured at the couch, “Asleep. I would approach him carefully.”
She dropped her purse in Jigen’s arms as she passed, “Oh come on. He wouldn’t forget me. He probably just decided to forget your ugly mugs. I’ve definitely wished I could.”
Fujiko didn’t allow the boys to see her face of doubt as she walked past, over towards the couch, and sat on the floor next to it. He looked worse for wear. She was beyond glad that he was asleep now so that she wouldn’t have to face her fear quite yet.
She did not look back at the two men, “So what did you two get out of him?”
Goemon looked towards Jigen, hoping for him to take the lead, “I have been gone most of this time.”
Jigen, in response, looked down at Fujiko’s purse, “He said something about waking up near the museum yesterday,” he played with a tassel that was attached to one of the zippers, “but far as I can tell he doesn't know anything else, not why he was there, or anything of us, or even himself.”
They all desperately looked anywhere but at each other.
She hugged onto Lupin. She just needed to hold him one more time before he broke her heart. She stopped. He was completely on fire. It was radiating even through the thick comforter. She turned towards Jigen and Goemon accusingly. Her stare demanded answers, and told loudly of what would occur if they weren't properly provided.
Both of the men looked utterly confused. Goemon came towards Lupin to investigate the source of the problem. Jigen simply tried to ignore it, chalking it up to Fujiko having another moment with them. It wasn't all that strange for them to fight after all. But Goemon's confused and worried expression was enough to tell him that he was incredibly wrong in his assumptions. He joined by the other two.
“I do not understand, we gave him medicine. It was not this bad before,” Goemon had his hand against Lupin's forehead.
Fujiko grabbed at Lupin's hand for comfort, more for herself than him. But, moving his hand rattled several items out of the base of his sleeve. Pills. They were the cold medicine that Goemon had given to him earlier.
Jigen snatched them before Fujiko could, “What the hell?! Why didn't he take them?! Is he TRYING to kill himself?! He's already hacking up half his organs!”
“It is possible that his instincts told him not to.”
“What in the hell do you mean his damn instincts told him not to?”
“Jigen. Would you, in this situation, willingly accept pills from a perfect stranger? You would not know if they are in fact cold medicine, or instead poison or something more sinister. We have provided little reason for him to particularly trust us.”
“He ate all your food! And he's sleeping! That's pretty trusting to me!”
“You know Lupin is not stupid. He knows he has to eat food at some point. Or he will not be able to fight back or escape if necessary. Even if he does not know that is the reason he does it. And it is even more likely that he cannot help but sleep. We cannot know what he has been going through, but I doubt it has involved much of that. Though I am concerned that he did not try to hide those better. THAT is very unlike Lupin.”
They all went silent.
……….
Zenigata had long since arrived in the town. He had arranged for a new group of officers to assist him in his task, and again began to search for the new hideout, under the presumption and hope that they would still be in this place.
With the help of local officials, he was able to discover that there had been no rentals within the last three months, and this town was more well known for vacation homes for the rich. So, he took his cohort to investigate each home one by one. They had already gone through seven. Zenigata was losing hope that this route would work, but it was currently the best lead that he had, so he continued his search.
………
It was so so cold. He was in a large room. It was dark. He thought to look for a light somewhere, but everything seemed to get darker with every moment he tried. And his head hurt. There were glass cases all around, seemingly empty, and on what seemed to be the walls were paintings? He couldn't make out what they were paintings of. He walked towards one without understanding why. But it pulled him in for whatever reason. As he stood before it, everything blurred and, finally, disappeared.
………
“Well what are we gonna do,” Jigen snapped at the other two from the counter.
“We regain his trust enough for him to take the medicine willingly,” Goemon offered.
“And if we can't?” Fujiko was in the chair near the couch, watching her hand as she rolled the pills around within it.
“We wait until we can, whether by being trustworthy or through his memories returning,” Goemon was uncertain in his answer, but he did not allow that to shine through.
“How are we supposed to wait when he's getting worse by the minute?” Jigen was getting pissed.
“I am only trying to help Jigen. You can either accept my answers or propose your own. But the only other option I see is forcing them down his throat. I do not believe he is in that poor of condition to resort to such means. Especially considering the situation as of now. We have to handle this well or we may lose Lupin forever.”
Fujiko and Jigen went silent again. They hadn't considered that. They had still been thinking of Lupin as Lupin. But he almost wasn't.
Jigen thought back to the incident in the car. He had never seen Lupin so genuinely frightened. And definitely not with the emotion so very clear within every cell of his body. Jigen left the house. He needed time to think.
Goemon, upon seeing Jigen leave, decided that it would be a fine time for meditation of his own, so he retired to the backyard, leaving Fujiko with words of encouragement.
………

Summarized ID: Lupin wakes up to the sound of his gang and Zenigata fighting. He rushes down the hall excitedly and sees that Zenigata is awake.
FULL ID UNDER CUT:
Lupin walks out of his room at night, there is a transition panel of the moon and stars to show that the night has passed, and it is day now.
A speechbubble is in the center of the page, it reads: "GET YOUR GRUBBY HANDS OFF ME, YOU CRIMINALS!!!"
Lupin startles awake from his position on the couch. He sits up in the living room. The living room is a bit messy with a few beer bottles scattered around, a cigarette tray, and a few other items. From down the hall comes shouting.
Fujiko: Please, just stay down! We aren't trying to hurt you for fuck's sake!
Jigen: I might be if keep freaking SQUIRMING!
Zenigata: LET ME GO! LET ME GO! YOU'RE MESSING WITH INTERPOL, YOU HEAR ME!? INTERPOL!!!
Lupin looks half asleep, the shouting continues.
"Owch!" Someone shouts.
"Be careful!" Someone else shouts.
Lupin's eyes open wide, the background lightens.
"Not on your life!" Zenigata shouts.
Lupin splits into an eager grin.
Lupin sprints down the hall. More shouting.
Jigen: Shit! How did he-- crap! Fujiko! grab another pair! Quick! they're in that drawer!
Zenigata lets out a yell.
Inside Lupin's bedroom, Zenigata is handcuffed three times to the bed posts, yelling and kicking. Jigen is holding one of his legs, and Goemon is holding another. Fujiko is holding one of his wrists and preparing to slap a fourth handcuff on him. Fujiko is in a low cut pink dress, Jigen is in a green sleepshirt, Goemon is in a fundoshi.
Fujiko: Keep him still!
Zenigata: HANDCUFF ME ALL YOU WANT, I MADE THEM, I CAN BREAK THEM TOO!!!
Goemon: ggh- he's as strong as a wild boar! agh! inspector, stop thrashing!
Zenigata: HELP! HELP! SOMEONE, I'M BEING ATTACKED!
Lupin watches from the doorway.
Fujiko: Ow!
Jigen: Hey! Lupin!!!
Fujiko: Lupin!?
Lupin starts giggling.
Jigen: Get your ass over here and hold him down!!!

Zenipapa au
Acquired Children, part 1
His superior officer hands him a file, a case he should be able to handle on his own, according to the older officer. Zenigata is used to doing the jobs that had less risk and that the other officers just didn't want to deal with because he's fresh out of training and barely 20 years old. He isn't sure about what to make of this case though.
It seemed simple at first, just four kids that needed to be processed and put into foster homes, but the issue comes in when he reads where they'd gotten these kids.
Case 361: Arsène Lupin arrested, grandson (4) in police care. Child will not give more information than his age and refuses to give his name. No known surviving family members.
Case 365: Unknown gangster taken into custody, left son (6) in police care. No known family.
Case 367: Ishikawa Goemon XII, found beheaded in Okigahara forest. 6 month old son found bundled in nearby tent. No know relatives.
Case 368: Shiemi Mine, local prostitute, found shot dead in alleyway with toddler girl (2) crying over the corpse. No known family.
The report was giving Zenigata chills, three of these were criminals and children of criminals were often messed up from the start. These kids were apparently locked in one of the backrooms in the station because the 4yo keeps stealing random things off cops, the 2yo keeps yelling for the slightest thing and the 6yo has already outshot most of the rookies in the firing range in the basement.
Zenigata, albeit unnerved, followed the procedure as usual. He called all the local foster homes and any places that usually took children that were left at the police station, but every time when they heard who the parents were, they'd either immediately decline, start preaching about demons or just end the call abruptly in his ear.
By the time his shift was ending, Zenigata had made no progress on it and they needed a place to stay overnight.
*****
After reporting to his superior officer and getting a thorough lecture on responsibility and that if there's no one else then an officer has to take the kids for the night. Again, none of the other officers wanted to deal with the kids.
So, Zenigata made his way down to the backroom where they were locked in for the last couple hours. He needed to at least meet them if he was temporarily responsible for them.
To his surprise, the door wasn't locked as the other officers had said it would be. Even more surprising, was that all four of them were still in the room. One of the boys, his guess was the 6yo, was busy trying to get the 6 month old to eat some crumbled up granola bars. There was a couple wrappers and soda cans laying around and Zenigata found himself surprised because as far as he knew they hadn't exactly been left with snacks, not this much anyway.
When the kids noticed him, the girl ran over and hid behind the smaller boy, who was standing now and offering Zenigata a grin. The other boy didn't pay him much attention, still trying to deal with the baby.
Zeni wonders if they've already bonded or if the girl just hid by them because they're older. He'd have to find out later.
"You four are gonna stay with me tonight," he says kindly, trying to be as gentle and non-threatening as possible. This didn't seem to work though, because the girl moved further away, the older boy turned to shield the smallest from the cop and the boy that had been smiling, now crossed his arms. "Not happening! You're a cop, why should we trust you?" Seems he was gonna be the talkative one then. It was odd to him that the four, so young, already had a distrust for police.
It takes a while to convince the four he's not going to hurt them and then he's got the problem of getting four kids to his flat. The walk, which thankfully wasn't more than two blocks, started with the baby held in his arms, fast asleep, Fujiko on his shoulders, patting his head with his hat on her head and the two boys holding onto his belt loops, both refusing to hold his hand for whatever reason.
Five minutes passed with this relative peace, when Lupin gets distracted by a guy wearing a Rolex and Zenigata has to corrale him away from the stranger, only to find he has the watch anyway. Then the assumed Goemon woke up, took one look at Zenigata and started screaming. For the life of him, Zeni cannot figure out how to calm him down and soon Jigen has the baby and is somehow soothing him better than Zeni ever would have been able to. This lead to Lupin having one hand to Zeni's belt loop and the other one clinging to Jigen's coat to make sure the other two boys didn't get lost.
Thankfully they made it to the apartment without further issue, but then Zeni has to figure out what the hell he's gonna do with four kids in a flat that isn't even big enough for himself, let alone other people as well.
While Zenigata is still figuring out if he needs to give them food or a bath or where he's gonna let the four sleep, he gets stopped in his tracks.
The four kids had piled up on the couch with Jigen at the bottom, Goemon resting on his chest and Fujiko and Lupin on either side of him, leaning against the older boy.
This gives Zeni a moment to sit down on the armchair and think through what he just agreed to. It would be just one night, but if they can't get a foster home or track any relatives then he'll have to take them for another day and another day and another day.
He can't afford that on his salary, but maybe if they stay for longer than a week then he can convince his superior officers to either fund their expenses or give him a raise because hell knows he can't raise three kids and a baby this way.
He decided to think it over with a shower and since they were still asleep when he was done, he tried to get some sleep as well.
(Tbc in part 2)

She’s a Ghanaian botanist and professor at Kumase University called Awuradwoa Owusu (pronounced “uh-ra-ju-uh”) who one day decided to go on a worldwide trip to follow the Lupgang + Fujiko and trick them using different disguises and personas to steal their heist spoils. What they are unaware of, tho, is that she’s sending them via mail, along with crucial information about their location and next targets, to Inspector Zenigata’s office.
awwww she’s so cute!!!! I loooove her bantu knots
thank you so much for blessing me with her ! 🥺💕💕💕
and your fujiko! she’s so 💕💕💕💕💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍

Some Lupin III AU thingy ramblings/characters I'd like to include shhhh-
Context of the story:
A normal heist for Lupin the III and his gang along with infamous Inspector Zenigata and his prodigy Yatagarasu goes terribly wrong. When Lupin gets his hands on a mysterious artifact he finds his entire world turned upside when he's thrust into an alternate reality/world. At first everything appears normal, his gang is still the same and the world still knows his name and his infamous heists he's pulled. However he quickly finds out something rather disturbing when he pulls off a few heists and Pops fails to show up to any of them. That being-
There's no Inspector Zenigata of the ICPO in this reality.
Officially shaken up by this Lupin finds himself searching for Koichi Zenigata in this strange alternate reality/world. While trying to figure out what exactly happened to the inspector, Lupin's companions, Jigen, Goemon and Fujiko are left completely confused and a bit concerned by their friend's insistence that they even had an ICPO cop placed on their case. And for awhile it appears that Lupin's possibly lost his marbles, until a small heist in a small Japanese town occurs.
It was during this heist that Lupin runs into someone. Someone he's been desperately searching for.
He's ran into Pops.
However Zenigata isn't a detective. Hell he's not even apart of law enforcement. Instead he's settled down into this small town, which is later revealed to be his hometown and has become it's residential handyman and jack of all trades. Zenigata Koichi was at one point in law enforcement, however due to his skills and talent he'd became bored. With no challenges to give him an actual run for his money (aka no Lupin), Pops decided to quit the police force and instead settle back down into his home town. Content yet feeling as if he's missing something. Yet his content and peaceful life are thrown on its head when he accidentally stumbles upon Lupin mid heist. Now Lupin having found Zenigata is determined to try and get him to know the thief once again while Zenigata is cautious but drawn to Lupin. Whether Lupin succeeds or not rests in fates hands and the infamous red string of fate.
Characters other than the main four:
Yatagarasu Goro: A young rookie of ICPO who's heard of the stories of the Japanese cop and detective known as Koichi Zenigata. While Zenigata never went to ICPO and had quit law enforcement, what things he'd managed to achieve get talked about amongst cops and other law officers. Though to the world outside his existence has all but faded into obscurity. Yata wants to become the best of the best, especially when he's assigned the Lupin case. And what better way to get that advice than to try and track down our favorite handyman? With his polite yet determined ways, Yata won't rest until he's learned everything he can.
Toshiko Zenigata: Pops beloved daughter. Toshiko is a fierce yet kindhearted woman whose hilariously enough decided to follow the Zenigata tradition of joining the law industry. Wanting to become a private detective, Toshiko will often times visit her father to borrow his old notes and books from back in his youth. Toshiko is a sweet young woman with a big heart (much like her father) yet can also be incredibly mischievous if given the opportunity (much like her mother). Yet when she visits her father one day and sees a strange man starting to flirt with him, she's immediately suspicious. Time to put her detective training to use.
Koichi Zenigata: Zenigata once a detective had quit his job due to boredom. Being the best at his job left him with very little to achieve and so he decided to call it quits. Afterwards he'd moved back to his hometown, while his ex wife and daughter remained in Tokyo. Soon Pops started to become the local handyman. If there was a problem or something needed fixed, Pops was the go too man. And on the rare occasion he'd even do some private detective work for the town however he never made it a main business venture. Whenever he's not fixing something or helping out his fellow townspeople, Zenigata would often be sighted with his daughter Toshiko whenever she'd come visit him for the summer while growing up. He's pretty content with his life, but once Lupin enters the game he can't help but wonder if he really is happy with his current position in life.......

my ideal modern day top cat reboot (not just tc and/or the gang serving as side characters in an ensemble cast in a hanna-barbera crossover cartoon) would be like,
tc and benny are the same as they always are (selfish hedonistic get-rich-quick schemer and his naive childhood bff enabler)
dibble is a private investigator (like he's always wanted to be) who is tc's other childhood friend (boyfriend) whose investigations somehow always end up intersecting with tc's schemes even when he's not actively investigating tc. i cant decide if i want him to stay human or not tho (dog dibble au my beloved miss u baby)
trans lesbian choo choo my beloved. weird and emotional, and constantly talks about her girlfriend lola glamour (theyre so t4t)
non-committal flirty serial monogamist gold digger fancy fancy, based on a mix of his cartoon personality and comic personality. like if fujiko mine were a catboy, who will sometimes betray the gang but they barely really hold it against him. tc doesnt, anyway
oblivious math wiz brain who is probably nonbinary but he's got finances to go over so he doesnt really care about that right now.
former-hellcat butch biker lesbian spook *giggles* i cant decide whether i want spook to be a she/her lesbian or a he/him lesbian, but very top cat begins/comic based characterization
roxy from the scrapped reboot finally gets to join the gang :) she can have jellystone brain's personality since he's not using it. she also has something extremely gay going on with spook
then side characters would be like,
myra and sheldon live in the city and periodically get involved in tc shenanigans! myra is very much so a neurotic worrywart who is constantly freaking out over the ways her twin brother's schemes can backfire. sheldon didnt really have a solid characterization in his book so maybe he can have jellystone fancy's personality?
kitty glitter from top cat and the beverly hills cats can be recurring because i like her <3 to me shes so lupin-iii-sadgirl coded
lola glamour gets to appear now and then and gets to be so annoyingly sappy pda with choo choo. has a lot of mentions and cameos though cuz shes still a star and shes dating choo choo who adores her childhood best friend turned lover <3 <3 <3
dibbles ex-wife periodically shows up and tc hates her soooooo much which is ironic because theyre kind of parallels. foils. the same but different. i would emphasize them being so similar and in fact that she reminded him of tc is why he married her and she does not like that one bit. self indulgent but i really dont care <3
i think they should have two kids (fred and daniel, based on comic dibble's names) just because i think it'd be funny as fuck. am i making him even more like zenigata? sure but my justification is dibble is a little league coach and camp counselor which is stereotypically things dads do to connect with their kids :P
jazz and beau can be recurring antagonists with their own gang that being dark parallels to tc's gang. teehee.
trixie from the first movie can be a recurring character too but only if shes an irredeemable antagonist in jazz's gang. the rest of jazz's gang consists of pantera from top cat begins, rocky from the comics, and skratch gets to exist separate from spook.
i guess griswald could be recurring since he had two eps and in the comics there was a recurring antagonist who was a bulldog but i dont care enough about griswald to expand on that idea
- oh wait he can be the actual cop since dibble is a PI now. duh. he literally became a police dog in one ep so it works.
cop cat from the comics can be griswald's partner although i think he needs a better name than "cop cat" ... maybe fuse him with officer prowler so he gets a cooler name. idk

I may have gotten carried away with that incorrect quote generator. Oh well. I am cringe but I am free! 😁👍
✨Officer Elliott Laufeyson (they/them)✨
The LupGang's part time member / adopted gay cousin / slightly feral cat
Originally hired by ICPO as an intern to be Zenigata's PR person (an internship they applied to for the sole purpose of getting closer to the Lupin case which they've always been fascinated by), they were taken hostage by the Lupin Gang during a heist gone south. They bonded with the Gang, then got counter-kidnapped by Fujiko who assumed they must be of some importance if Lupin had kidnapped them. (She was wrong.)
They gave Lupin a ton of information on ICPO and Zenigata's plans, then told Fujiko about Lupin's plans, then told Zenigata everything they could about both Lupin's gang and Fujiko.
During the kidnapping, they bonded with Lupin (they have the same chaotic vibe), with Jigen who quickly declared himself their Weird Uncle, and with Goemon through their shared passion for martial arts and Bushido. They eventually got themself pretty much adopted into the Lupin Gang as something akin to either a gay cousin or a slightly feral pet. Zenigata took this opportunity to plant Elliott as a spy in the LupGang, and got them properly hired as an ICPO field officer. Zenigata is fiercely protective of Elliott (a little too much), and very proud of their encyclopedic knowledge about Lupin (it's the 'tism). Elliott is also in frequent contact with Fujiko (whom they do not have a gigantic crush on, they don't see what you're talking about), and they also give her intel. They occasionally take part in heists, usually to do prep work, recon, and interact with people. The Gang, Fujiko and Zenigata are all aware that Elliott is susceptible of telling any of them information about any of the others, or tell them totally made up bullshit; it's all part of the game.
Meanwhile Elliott's just living their best life hanging out with the coolest people and gaining frankly worrying amounts of knowledge about ballistics and swordsmanship.
They regard Zenigata as a father figure (honestly who doesn't), and they have a friendly sibling rivalry with Yata. Jigen is their Weird Uncle TM and Lupin and Goemon are like older brothers (with Goemon usually taking on duties as the Feral Cat Elliott Wrangler).
✨Btw this is your cue to go make a self-indulgent self-insert OC! Right now! Cringe culture is a lie, go forth and get adopted by your blorbos! ✨

I. Fucking. Forgot to include one bit of information to the Jigen Alcohol Preferences Headcanon post.
This one is short, but I'm going to drop it under a Read More anyway.
Content warnings: alcohol, (a bit of) alcohol abuse.
what else would i write about lmao.
Anyway. His go-to is usually the expensive stuff, when they're riding the high of a successful heist, he splurges, buys the good stuff, not the usual bottle of rotgut for twenty bucks. Drains at least two with Lupin. Sometimes with Goe too, but he's got his own preferences, ones that don't mesh with the rest of the gang.
If they're going to drink some variant of whiskey, they trust Jigen's pick. Because they let Lupin pick a bottle once, and it ended up being one of the worse things they had to drink.
So the fun is had. Alcohol is drank merrily. They burned through the high-end stuff. And all the other alcohol in the hideout. The morning is going to be a disaster, but they'll be alright the day after. I have a headcanon about the whole gang, plus Zenigata, being pretty much functional alcoholics, with two exceptions - those being Jigen, for he slips into the non-functional territory once in a while, and Fujiko, because she drinks far less than the rest. But that's for an entirely different post.
But Jigen, he doesn't want to get used to the high-end alcohol. And to keep himself appreciative of its value, he wanders off, buys the worst, cheapest bottle of whatever (the worst thing he's found so far was a 200ml bottle of some no-name vodka for two bucks) and he just sits with it, stares it down, and he knows it'll be a horrible experience. But that's the point.
There's a reason he reaches for the bottom-shelf supply after indulging in actual quality alcohol - to never forget how good he has it, that he's not restricted to this gas-station swill that surely only exists to keep people on the wagon. It keeps his taste buds sharp, he refuses to forget the taste of bad liquor, he doesn't want his standards to rise too much. He wants to keep his appreciation of the higher arts, he wants to remember the stark contrast between cheapshit wine and the bottle worth half the monthly salary of some office clerk.
Even though Jigen feeds his habit with mid-range liquors, stuff like the aforementioned fifth of whiskey for twenty bucks, he still reaches for the bottom shelf every once in a while. Partly because he doesn't want to get spoiled, so to speak, partly because his self-worth is sort of tied to his choice of poison. If the job ends in a catastrophe, he grabs the worst drink he can find. A little self-harm never hurt anyone, right?
#moose rambles about jigen#even milder headcanon exploration#still afraid to reblog on the reblog website#the vodka for two bucks is from personal experience btw#it's bad. don't do it. it's about as bad as 72 percent abv tatratea. never again.
