Episode 7 is once again the Theo episode! This is not a drill! And he'll be framed as a potential love interest for Mabel, too.
#i have mixed feeling about how much i'm choosing to seek out spoilers for this show#but this time i wasn't even seeking it out! it was just there!#omitb spoilers#only murders in the building#theo dimas#theobel#theo now has facal hair and glasses to indicate that he has matured in his father's absence#also from the full imdb summary they're going to be investigating dickie#with that in mind there's no way theo and will won't have some kind of a storyline this season (right. right?!)#and another thing: i am reserving judgement on the love trangle framing until i see what they actually do#only murders in the building spoilers#omitb

oh fuck. oh no. im gonna have to learn a way to somehow bake the shell texture material for frontiers aughhhh
#soda offers you a can#hghng okay i did some Investigating on his forces model to see how they made the fur there#and it's pretty much done with a single image texture#it's i guess a kind of shell texturing if you will but it effectively just overlays an image multiple times#instead of doing it The Usual Way(TM)#im not quite sure how i'd really go about baking this thing even because of the way it's built??#like i understand the premise it uses and i think having like a grid of the different levels of the fur could work#that i then organize the UVs onto to get the same effect#it's the part where im supposed to figure out how to get that grid for myself that's the hard part#also it's been ages since i've baked anything i gotta relearn that too ughh

so, a question for all ye health-havers
i'm not seeing a doctor again for a couple of weeks, but i do have an appt scheduled to check in on some stuff. this is where the question comes in:
i've been having a lot of symptoms that look a bit (a lot) like POTS, and there's something weird going on with chronic pain. so i'm wondering – when at the doctor's office, is it best to be upfront and say 'i've heard of Symptoms Condition and i am having xyz symptoms that would mean i'd like to investigate Symptoms Condition', or do you just mention the xyz symptoms and hope the doctor makes the connection?
i.e. is it best to just say 'i've been having spells of presyncope and vertigo when i stand up, my hands and feet get cold and sometimes take on a mottled appearance, and i've sometimes noticed my heart rate go up 40 BPM on standing at home', or to instead say 'i've had episodes of tachycardia on standing + these symptoms, i've read about POTS, and was wondering if it would be possible to investigate that somehow'.
#shoutout to the gp who said (when i mentioned central sensitisation): i don't diagnose that. haven't seen it much#(i wasn't even saying 'diagnose this' but rather 'hey my physio said that pain everywhere isn't normal and is probably central sensitisatio#of some kind. how do i investigate)

this is a funny as fuck dialogue option for when you're playing a dead-birth-parents-rogue who just so happens to be mixed. get gathened idiot.
#succ speaks#i just think it's funny that wotc constantly has NO idea how to handle half-elves from a mixed lens.#as much as i WOULD be happy that larian devs were there to say 'hey man people can be proud of their mixed heritage'#it's just funny as fuck to me that the first time i'm seeing this line is with mo fucking gathen.#the only funnier option is 3. this bitch is withering away there's nothing sexy about him unless u ask his actual party's paladin(s)#baldur's gate 3 kind of sucks especially early on but it's worth it to me to be funny while playing with friends who know this character#'hmm. i can't seem to recall what happened to elturel.' [finished the descent into avernus adventure path. was one of the adventurers.]#'the zhentarim? i think i've heard of them somewhere' [is a zhent ardragon with specialties in legal dealings and investigations]#the running joke is that he got mind flayer brain damage after a stat scramble and cannot find the right people for the life of him#this is so funny though. imagine i just became a small local hero and some nice girl i helped one time says she'll sing a song about me#and she's like 'what should i sing about' and i'm like. 'how about my mixed heritage.' LMFAOOOOO that's so out of pocket#like my friend is so curious and wants me to choose it because he wants to know what alfira's even going to DO with that like ????

柄本 佑 || 「光る君へ」 (2024) · 第三十八回 「まぶしき闇」
#柄本佑#tasuku emoto#光る君へ#hikaru kimi e#1x38#made by me#fujiwara no michinaga#藤原道長#this ep's so good idek where to begin with#okay kaneie it is#I feel like part of michinaga still consciously does not want to admit he's doing everything kaneie's way#but it's the other part that scares me#he's thinking bigger than kaneie (in a bad way) bc he's already too deep in the darkness#and he's automatically justifying his greed by using all kinds of excuses#either his daughter. or for the country. it's good for ichijo. it's good for korechika. it's good for mahiro's daughter. it's good for you#deeply he knew he didnt believe it himself but that's what dairi life does to a man in that position#half the episode I'm mahiro watching him from the other side of the corridor. thinking 'who da hell is that???'#the only 2 scenes we got to breathe a little from the pressure of his darkness#is the night talk with tomoko and the mahiro scene#thank you Oishi sensei for giving us a break and reminding us that saburo did not fully die#speaking of mahiro I'm sorry but kikyo sucks#I find it funny that these two women are strong and independent and everything and I think Oishi sensei did a good job writing both#but it gets me every time that Kikyo is so dedicated of being a slave of sadako's#mahiro too I mean she was tricked by michinaga and she needs to provide the family yes.#but she initially thought she's writing this to serve a royal member#it became self-catharsis later but the motive is -#idk she used to teach farmer kids to read & write and care about normal people during some natural disasters#she never believed in hierarchy but ended up serving one of the highest royal families#k enough whining. lastly can I say that I'm just glad that no matter how dark michinaga gets#there's always a yukinari promising to investigate the horror curses & insisting capital sentence on people who are mean to michinaga

i always thought i was a very typical enemies to lovers girlie but i think i just realized my actual taste in ships is the dynamic where the two are supposedly equal rivals/enemies who represent diametrically opposed themes (for the Aesthetic), but in actuality it’s just one of them yanking the other around on a chain while the other whines and rages and protests and ultimately makes an absolute spectacle of themselves
so uhhh. how did THAT happen and when and why
#L and light fit this dynamic bc my mental model of their conversations is like this#L shoots light a question mostly meant to fuck with him and it works bc light instantly starts running in around in circles in his brain#he’s like a circus performer juggling ten rings on a tightrope. obsessively constructing his answer based on what he imagines he looks like#in L's eyes. he's like... a peacock strutting around with his feathers out or some shit. so easily provoked. he's doing this to himself!!!#this is not even mentioning that L had light on a literal leash (that's what im calling the chain.) but anyways#i started shipping them in yotsuba arc and it was the moment where light did a thing in hunting down yotsuba and L was like hmm. good boy.#(me: having visions of light's brain shorting out in this moment (bc the praise kink shit is so real and personal to me))#but then he turns it into another test: you're so good you could replace me actually. and then light just calls him on it in front of the#whole task force with this big dramatic speech like he'd reached into L's brain and pulled the thoughts directly from his head#light is constantly performing at L's whims and he hates it ofc. he's under investigation; why wouldn't he? but secretly he's having the#time of his life bc he's a bit deranged and he likes showing off!!! to L!!!#out of all versions of light i think yotsuba!light felt most strongly about having Something To Prove. to everyone and to L specifically#at this point after the fake-memory kira shenanigans he's def not a normal strait-laced boy even if he's pretending very hard to be one#theres so much u can do w that dynamic imo. like it isnt just neutered kira vs L it's got its own flavor that can only exist at that time#especially if u also assume L realizes light has lost his memories and is kinda trying to manipulate him about it#anyways back to my original point. i can't believe it took an anthropomorphic tv man hitting the base versions of my tastes with deadly#precision for me to even realize what they were. im going insane about this. thank you anthropomorphic tv man. i guess#this is also why alastor + lucifer isn’t doing it for me i think. hating each other over power levels? or over charlie? boringgg#it’s gotta be more personal than that. they’re more evenly matched in how they feel about each other but it feels soulless#i need that raw gut churning angst lmaooo#this is also partly why i can’t get into angel + husk and im MAD about it. i think they’re the kind of ship i might’ve liked back when i#was 12 and losing it over sns (naruto) for the first time. but now i’m a diff type of person apparently

I was looking through my notes for Good Omens fanfiction, and realized almost every damn story includes Crowley having a baby.
There's the one where Heaven and Hell decide to use an angel baby carried by a demon as a diplomatic tool, leading into Crowley being protected by Michael, and them falling in love.
There's the one where she leaves her baby with Anathema and disappears, which triggers all the following events - from the search, to Aziraphale's trial, and everything else.
There's the one where she has to supply the new Antichrist, which leads to her and Lucifer falling in love, and her being crowned the Queen of Hell. (Well, this one is really two stories set in different timelines, in the second one the "baby" is like 27)
In the one inspired by a dream, she does have a baby eventually, but that's far from the worst thing that happens to her. Gabriel's treatment of her after is... How the Hell will I write this damn thing if I can't even think about it.
There's no baby in the one where she gets tortured with diluted holy water.
I see I have no storyline with male Crowley just yet... Fine, that's not true. I do have some thoughts for Crowley x Fem!Lucifer... It could include a new Antichrist, too. And, Crowley wouldn't be the pregnant one for once. But, dealing with pregnant Lucifer would probably be even scarier.
#diary pages#writing journal#fanfiction writer#ao3 writer#good omens fanfiction#good omens fandom#crowley#good omens crowley#lady crowley#fem!crowley#writers on tumblr#writer life#ffs what's with me and torturing miss/mr. snake#she's either pregnant or she's in some horrible situation or actually it's both#yes i feel damn guilty for doing that but i can't help it#in first two bullet points the dad is aziraphale but he screws up (without even knowing it) so michael steps in...#in the first one and not immediately as a love interest at first just as a protector#don't worry she's in on using the kid for politics and crowley know's there's drama#the second i'd rather not spoil because of the detective/investigation plot#hey but she chose michael herself she was supposed to be with hastur#in the antichrist one all is obvious and honestly it's one of those “good for her” stories for crowley#but in the time jump she is kind of riddled with worry for maxine fearing she'll burn out and so on#grr the dream storyline... the dad is gabriel and don't worry in the end she ditches him i can spoil that this story is so heavy#this story is the ugly crowing jewel of my frustration with crowley saving aziraphale over and over again#what she does to protect him here almost ends up killing her or breaking her it's... seriously no idea how i'll write it#i'm also worried people will think i'm romanticising it when it's supposed to leave the reader sickened like i am#no comment on the holy water thing rn it's a simple hurtfic that develops into a survivor - the previous one is survivor in the end too#i haven't given too much thought for the crowley/f!lucifer but it should be good#fr hell would be so frustrated she chose this moron as her king consort but could do nothing about it#her pregnant would be SCARY - she's terrifying already... well terrifying and to die for

Ok so I haven't finished it yet But I'd like to ramble just a little about some thoughts on Marble Hornets so far that being: 1. WAY sadder than I had ever expected it to be 2. I find it really entertaining how the protagonist is honestly kind of terrible
#txt#By that I mean to say that well Im not sure how much of a consensus this opinion is but as I see it Im just honestly surprised at the#lengths that Jay goes to investigate. and you know there's conviction and all but god DAMN. Ill avoid spoilers till I have a proper tag but#Suffice to say i didnt expect him to go from trespassing to . Psychological manipulation...? Im 90% sure he just re-ruined this guy's life?#And this isnt a complaint. On the contrary i really appreciate it because I think hes a really interesting protag#Usually something like MH would bore me seeing as a lot of it is just walking with a camera while being kind of clueless?#But i feel so invested in the characters that im actually always eager to find out what will happen. I think theyve pulled off tension so#well this entire time. Its really thrilling to watch this#Anyways when it comes to the first point Im not even going to try and explain the emotions that I feel towards Tim Wright.#You can figure that out on your own. I can assure you that NONE are normal and it is very DIRE. thats all i'll say on that#Lastly Im honestly a little scared to finish it. i think i only have some 20 entries left but I know for a fact things will get bad#and im Scared ;((( so Im putting it off and I'll do it in a few days so I can get ready Ok. if Tim dies I kill myself in front of everybody#uhhmmm autism over sorry byeee [skitters away

sad to report i've gotten to that scene in succession & thus have to induct it into the larger ada wong cinematic canon
#* file // : OOC — ( 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑'𝐒 𝐂𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐀𝐃𝐄 . )#this scene specifically not succession as a whole though i am always a fan of portraying the inherit pathetic-ness of the rich & powerful#making ada a mother is my worst & most inspired decision (nobody does it like me)#kind of plagues me how good of a plotline it really is#burdening her with the guilt of project ada without implying her fault or participation#(since her campaign is spent as you the player and her figure out answers none of the other characters are given)#(the reason she was down this path is because she was investigating the family in the first cutscene of her campaign)#(as her own words say after wesker's death her focus moved onto simmons as he was the next obstacle towards her true purpose)#it allows ada to evolve as a character past her selfishness & need for self-sufficiency/autonomy#& it does tie a nice knot between her last appearance in 6 & my verse for her role during village#something that feels like a personal ending for ada & yet her story goes on as the world isn't done with her quite yet#where she goes after village i haven't yet decided but i do think the BSAA is no longer an obstacle to consider in her movements#in the eight years of her exile the family itself loses its grip on the US government due to internal investigations into simmons' conduct#while he was replaced i assume the new leader is a bit too young & malleable to external forces beyond the family's interest#& the resulting power struggle is another nail in their coffin#she has some freedom#& seeing the desperation in herself through ethan & miranda to reunite with their children does make her consider what to do with it#she's past the halfway point of her life with someone to care for & the decision to settle is less daunting twice over#we'll see - i suppose

Night on the Bionis’ Shoulder.
#xcde#xenoblade#had to fucking FIGHT the xc2 lighting engine for these ones#ive definitely talked about this before. the xc2 lighting engine makes everything look like shit at night#what looks okay at night? glowy things#so i sought out glowy things#all things considered i think these turned out pretty good#but at any rate#what happened with gael gar. like what purpose did he serve#the final quest with him was just annoying to be honest like he basically asks melia to come kill him#like i didnt think he even had a reasonable point of view#which could be interesting to investigate from a position of 'he's a fanatic and isn't logical' but it isn't played like that#he just kind of exists#blows up a lab#says some weird unjustifiable shit and then leaves#melia's comebacks were not exactly that good either#anyways im sure theres more analysis to be done about that character but i just dont want to#he does not interest me and neither do his perspectives#which i think is kind of sad because there could have been some really interesting stuff about how the post-zanza world should be run#considering everything that has changed#like who put shulk and co in charge? they are mostly essentially children who grew strong enough to kill god#i feel like they could have done something really interesting with some people reasonably pushing back against the new people in charge#but instead we get 'i dont like the ancestors!' vs 'i like the ancestors!'

Forest Mystery 2
You put your stuff away and check in with your boss before heading out to parole the park to see if there's been any misbehavior during the night. The park was created by several prominent families back in the late 1800s as a nature preserve for the Witch Wood. According to records, the Waylon family, the Metzger family, and several others agreed that the nature and beauty of the Witch Wood needed to be protected and preserved, and came together to keep a section of the woods as a park. There were rumors of ulterior motives, but that sort of thing is no interest to you when there are frogs and lizards to focus on instead.
Despite generally ignoring those rumors, you have worked at the park for several years and volunteered there for years before. You know that people like to get up to trouble in the woods. You know about the legends of the Ape Man, of the Axe Man, and the mischief people get up to trying to find them. Not to mention the day every year all those pig carcasses show up, and you have to get rid of them before kids stumble on them. You have no idea what day that is, just that it's soon.
As you're patrolling the usual trouble areas, you hear sounds coming from a bush on the other side of the clearing. You know this area tends to have teenagers getting up to shenanigans because it's away from the family areas, but there's always the chance it's something more dangerous.
#hatchetfield#forest mystery#this lore isn't Canon it's just canon compliant but I'm good at that kind of thing#wanted to explain the park some to add context to the situation#we're at the honey festival time of year and strange things happen in the park#how much do you want to investigate? how safe is it for a very normal person to look into?#i will say though that Meg does have a gun as a forest ranger in Hatchetfield she knows the woods are dangerous

As someone currently working in a school who is trying his best to treat our disabled students as competent while also being aware of limitations when possible.
I must say the lack of resources which don't boil down to "talk to the adult in the situation (not them)" and websites or books written by white old men with medical degrees and no disabilities whatsoever is certainly not inspiring confidence
#post inspired by a spec ed student of ours who claimed he was threatened by a teacher with a gun (untrue after investigation)#i want to take his perspectives seriously and treat him n my disabled peers with dignity but theres astonishingly few resources about how#to actually Do That#especially in a school setting#with our students in wheelchairs i try 2 make a point of always speaking to them instead of whoever is wheeling them#but with some other spec ed students i am unfortunately at a bit of a dead end even while being neurodivergent n disabled myself?#does anyone have suggestions of any kind?

It's not that I don't love that she was there, but Kay really had no business being in AAI2
#how do i say this.. you know how the og trilogy is just as much maya's story as it is phoenix's (arguably more so hers because of#the impact of the fey clan?) and how dgs is also susato's story as much as it is ryuunosuke's because it's her family and dream who's#actually central to the plot? and how investigations 1 was also kay's story because it involved the truth of the yatagarasu?#yeah that's not the case in aai2. she's quite literally just along for the ride here and is actually used to further edgeworth's#character more than anything else. i feel like this is most obvious/egregious in the forgotten turnabout where they literally make her#a totally different person so she can be wholly reliant on him and it's just !! i like aai2 i genuinely do but i like the parts of it#better than it's whole.#made that whole long kay post and STILL didnt address the forgotten turnabout which is what i wanted to talk about to begin with#smh#also her being there kind of makes their whole separation at the end of aai really funny instead of meaningful?? you know how the og#trilogy had rfta to make you feel how long it's been since phoenix and maya have seen each other? yeah aai2 literally does not do that#both from meta and in game perspectives it's been like. 15 minutes since she's stepped out and it's so.#shkadgkadh#the problem with kay in aai2 is that the Yatagarasu thing is done. it's over. and her whole story revolves around that!!#so if you cant come up with something else to add to it it leaves her just hanging about#waiting to fuel other people's stories#i just. ive seen people marvel at how the same director who made aai and aai2 could go on to make the trainwrecks that were#dd and soj but if you compare kay's treatment to trucy's there you'll see some similarities

@godofcourage gets a random starter
it's one of those bitterly chilly nights where the moon is high in the sky and a soon approaching rainfall clings in the air. nightlife seems prevalent, at least if the street she's walked down was anything to judge from. one of the bars' had one of those folding doors which allowed them to form an open patio, live music drifting out and people of various levels of intoxication braving the chill. another, the one on the corner, had a line of the typical college looking sort waiting to get in with a few scattered older adults. she ignores them, dodging a larger group of friends in the line and stepping into the street to get around them. maybe ariadne shouldn't have parked her car so far away yet she hadn't exactly wanted it seen or anyone taking down her license plate when she held no business getting involved in what she was doing in the first place. ariadne held enough issues with certain detectives even if most had seemed to form a kind of acceptance that her dedication to her work proved family members held no baring on her commitment to solving the deaths which crossed her table at the morgue.
except, all of those detectives had seemed ready to accept the current case (or lack thereof) as presently in review as 'accidents'.
it was true the evidence hadn't been as strong as other cases, however, ariadne steadfastly disagreed with the pathologist in a jurisdiction over, the two cases she believed were linked having transpired in different areas yet not over state lines. there hadn't been any outright preternatural elements though a few things had made her question; even so, finding evidence the victims had once been to a blood den did not equate to proof anything paranormal had caused their deaths. as such there had not been enough to require the bprd's involvement and certainly nothing to have warranted fbi involvement even had she attempted a favor.
perhaps this was all one enormous hunch of a bad feeling ariadne shouldn't be following. certainly, one would think that as intelligent a woman as doctor kalkan clamed to be, she would have learned her lesson by now in respect to getting too involved with her cases. if nothing else what had happened in london should have taught her that. and yet, here she was, walking down a dimly lit street and jogging up the six steps of the apartment building once she finds the address she'd been looking for. how she'd got that, perhaps, wasn't completely in-line with the fact she was supposed to be on the side of law enforcement (sometimes it helped that one's familial ties were tied up in much less legally acceptable things and held no issues in utilizing those means if she asked). it was a very blurred line at times, though ariadne was willing to justify it as a fairly minor deviation and for a greater good. when someone comes out in hurry, she grabs the door before it closes, looking back a moment as the person moves down the street and rain begins prompting her to move inside, distracted.
somewhere in the back of her mind, she'd gotten a strange sense off the hooded man, something dark and the scent of smoke... however, ariadne chalked it up to her own minor paranoia about her covert actions and her anxieties about things in the past. closing the door, ariadne wonders if this was how private detectives operated, waiting for doors to be opened or did they just pick locks? she supposes they weren't held to the same rules as the police and as long as they weren't caught. on that same thought train, she wouldn't have put it passed the one girl's only living relative, a brother, to have hired one to look into things after the police findings. regardless, she has to speak with the girl that lives here and so ariadne makes her way up the steps. there's a weight to the moment, a sudden increasing worry. she has theories, even if ariadne's not sold on them yet but she'd seen the same item on this girl's person as had been found at two previous scenes, a match box from a location she knew was a blood den. again, it didn't mean the girls were even connected to the place, for all she knew it could be the killer-- if there really was one. finally, she reaches the top where the girl's apartment was, seeking to knock only to find the door slightly ajar.
there, a few steps inside, she finds a female down-- the girl, a friend of one of the victims who she'd spoken to briefly when on scene with one of the detectives, laying on the floor among a smashed glass table. she moves to take a pulse, render aid if possible, however the girl was deceased, having begun to bleed out and another set of matches on the floor. was it a coincidence? or was someone trying to draw attention? the easy answer would be to think it was a vampire killer or more likely a ripper if one went down that route yet there was too much blood left at the scenes and no bite wounds. was it a human who knew about vampires? and it always looked like an accident-- a fall or a something of the sort. ariadne wondered if this girl also had a strange puncture mark as that had been present at the other scenes too except there wasn't an easy method to check and the glass made things precarious as it was. she needed to call this in though how she was going to explain her presence or that she'd taken it upon herself to want to ask the girl questions she held no idea how to explain. she's pulling out her phone when she senses someone else at the door.
"i'm with the m.e.'s office.. i just found her like this. i'm about to call it i--" ariadne pauses in confusion when she looks over as she stands upright. "o--" no, no. it wasn't, she's not entirely sure how she knows, perhaps it's the difference in his aura if that was what that strange sense she was only starting to become aware she had was and perhaps it's a trick of the low-light, but he looks so similar to... well, she supposed everyone had a doppelganger of sorts. "oh shit--" she realizes it too late. "--that guy with the hood downstairs! i think he's the one that did this." she's not really talking to the strange man though she should be much more concerned about his presence than she is. granted, this man wasn't dressed like the other guy that'd smelled like smoke, nor did he have the same... he didn't seem the same and she was surrounded by glass pieces if she had to defend herself. "who are you?"
*(see the novel i wrote in tags)
#so apparently ari is out here meeting all the gods now and i love that for her esp because she basically believes in most of them#as all being around in some form and i really liked how you came up with the pocket dimensions#it seems like that's a thing a bit at times in hell.boy too -- at least in respect to multiple dimensions and deities#also i thought it'd be really amusing to play into the fact your fc is the same as someone in her 'canon' and her just thinking they look#really alike and being thrown by it but i can drop that in the next reply if you want lol#so i saw he's a private eye so i was thinking maybe there's this killer who killed some people already and he's totally human#but he knows about vampires and maybe goes to blood dens and is addicted to being a donor or something and has some weird thing about vamps#so like he's killing and trying to frame a vampire or is trying to expose them because maybe he was rejected toward becoming one#and it set him onto his killing path andthe cases look just enough like a accident and what not that the cops kind of are closing the cases#or making them cold but maybe one of the dead girl's brothers hire him so he's on the case case as ari is sorta trying to sort out too?#and maybe they can end up helping each other once they sort out who they are?#because the cops are gonna get mad she's there (if she calls it in or rather if she does under her name and if she stays there for when the#get there ) but we could see how it plays out? i'm also okay with altering anything if need be just let me know#also perhaps if we do like the idea of him having been hired he could already know who she is just from working the case and since she's#the pathologist that was pushing to have it investigated where the other one wasn't? he might also know she's not supposed to be there? lol#sorry the starter got so long#godofcourage#v; main -- default#thread; match box killer
