K I've seen that post about Picard calling Odo "Mr. Odo" a few times now and I don't wanna be negative on that post but I do need to say that I heartily disagree with the idea that he'd like that. I think he'd find it just as disrespectful as everyone calling him "Constable," if not much more. It's just so human and Odo isn't a human and doesn't want to be treated as one. His people don't do gendered honorifics that way.

But! I think if Picard met older Odo, he'd call him "Founder Odo" because my boy Picard is good at being respectful, and Odo would appreciate that.

i personally think that odo has flown into a glass pane as a bird at least once, and i think quark deserves to be there when it happens

Okay imagine you're Lister. Your Kochanski is dead. Your Rimmer is dead. But then your Rimmer comes back, and he's back because of you. You made him possible. Then he leaves- you encouraged him to leave. And another Kochanski appears. She's not your Kochanski but she could be. Only she doesn't want to be because you're not her Lister. And then you're confronted with a Rimmer who was your Rimmer, at one point, but not anymore, because he grew and you've grown and this Rimmer hasn't.

Then imagine you're Kochanski. Your Lister died, but he comes back because of you. You made him possible. And then you're forced to leave him due to things out of your control. And there's a new Lister who wants you to be some version of you that isn't you- his Kochanski. But you can't because you are not his Kochanski and he's not your Lister. You may never see your Lister again. You will never see your universe again.

And imagine you're Rimmer. This is your Lister. He has to be, because to you, for you, there is no other Lister. But you aren't his Rimmer. He's changed and he wants a version of you that has changed with him. He and this Kochanski (who is not his Kochanski but is the closest he has to her) and the strangers you're supposed to know are the reason you're here. They made you possible. But you are not their Rimmer. You are no one's.

Now imagine trying to be normal with this information in mind

Odo's physical sciences education is basically nonexistent. Since he was raused as a science experiement, teaching him to read, write, and count was an afterthought. Anything else was hardly ever touched upon. Odo learned some history from a Vedek who took an interest in him and provided his religious education, but he still doesn't really have any answers to the big 'why' questions about the color of the sky or the way the planets move.

Also, Odo doesn't care for the color orange and would, generally, prefer to avoid transforming into anything that requires it.

Also, Odo has the most incredibly niche music tastes of any star trek character.

Nana Visitor MADE the ds9 mirrorverse episode. She so perfectly hit the balance of In Charge and Spoiled Princess.

Mirrorverse!Kira is such a good example of "mirrorverse" rather than "evil". She's an inversion of Kira: She happily owns slaves instead of fighting for freedom, she uses her soft voice first to get what she wants before resorting to violence, instead of leaping into fights but being vulnerable when things matter, she is ultimately deeply alone and unsure of herself whereas our Kira has confronted a lot of her demons and has an incredibly strong sense of self.

It's just. SO good!
