I think a lot of what pro-AI people are really wanting is stuff that already exists but they don't know it's out there like
can't format a work email? templates
don't know how to write a resume? templates
writing a thank you card or a condolences card or a wedding invitation? templates templates templates
not sure how to format your citations in MLA or whatever format? citationmachine.net
summary of something you're reading for school/work? cliffnotes.com
recipe based on ingredients in your fridge? whatsintherefrigerator.com
there's a million more like, guys, we don't need AI, we never needed generative AI

K Tanaka commissioned from @bublines, their donation commissions are still open!
[Image descriptions:
First image: A painterly shoulders-up drawing of K Tanaka from the Dimension 20 show Misfits and Magic. They are a femme nonbinary person with east Asian features. He is wearing a chunky pink headset with cat ears, a bright pink jacket, and a dark top with a black mesh neckline. She has dark hair that is shaved on one side, pink winged eyeshadow, and black lipstick. They're winking, their open eye looking coyly to the right, one hand adjusting the microphone arm of their headset.
Second image: Just the line art of the image described above.
End image descriptions]

Writing advice from my uni teachers:
If your dialog feels flat, rewrite the scene pretending the characters cannot at any cost say exactly what they mean. No one says “I’m mad” but they can say it in 100 other ways.
Wrote a chapter but you dislike it? Rewrite it again from memory. That way you’re only remembering the main parts and can fill in extra details. My teacher who was a playwright literally writes every single script twice because of this.
Don’t overuse metaphors, or they lose their potency. Limit yourself.
Before you write your novel, write a page of anything from your characters POV so you can get their voice right. Do this for every main character introduced.

We all need to accept this reality as spoken by Tabby.
As we’re learning, we cannot change people’s minds unless they are open to new knowledge.
But real talk.
This is what every person does online when they don’t actually know the truth and/or refuse to actually step outside their “knowledge.”
They just parrot phrases and talking points they’ve picked up from the people around them and the people of similar mind online.
In the year of 2024 in America, we fucking know this to be true.
