Can I hear about the weatherman OC :3
Yeah!!
TWS FOR DEPRESSION, TOXIC PARENTING, MISCARRIAGE, SPOUSAL DEATH, GRIEF, ETC
I don't have much for her yet considering I just made her. But as I said, she's 27 and is Mayor Evermores daughter. Due to issues and incidents in her life (usually involving her dad fucking up things for her or just things never going her way) though, she is incredibly depressed and has kinda given up on life. But she's also mainly like this because she lost her child in a miscarriage and also lost her own spouse as of recently. So everything's kinda messy for this gal. Odia is very intelligent though and likes to infodump about the weather and just talk about it in general since it's kinda her area of field anyway—and she is genuinely good at her job, but she doesn't see how talented or good she really is since she pretty much hates herself for 'causing' all the stuff in her life. She doesn't really see a point in anything anymore—and copes with her issues in an unhealthy manner by drinking alcohol. She is also very lonely and socially awkward, and is a clumsy girlfailure nerd. And she's pretty charming in her own awkward way which is why most people kinda like her even upon first meeting her.
Her relationship with her dad isn't the best though, and they usually only talk when it's for something important. Odia is very tense around him and just generally anxious because of how her dad's been judging basically everything she does for years on end and hasn't let her really do anything and has just given her expensive gifts to show 'love'. Evermore is incredibly judgemental toward her because he genuinely believes he's somehow helping her by changing every little thing she does, even though she's a full on adult now—and does care for her in his own way, but he's still very toxic toward her and makes her feel unsafe and is just very hard on her in general.

1st December, 2023.
I visited Bali Jatra for fourth time today. Bali Jatra is the Asia's largest open trade fair, that is held in Cuttack every year. It begins from the day of Kartika Purnima and lasts for 7-8 days. This year, it started on 27th November and will end on 4th December.
It is held to pay homage to the maritime history of Odisha.
Bali Jatra may be just a fair for others, but an emotion and nostalgia for us Cuttackias. And I am simply obsessed with it since childhood and love to visit it daily.
When I was in my Class 10th, our tuition teacher forbade us to go to Bali Jatra, because he didn't want us to miss classes and lag behind the studies. Any kid who missed classes during those days, even if for other reasons, was punished severely. I didn't miss any classes, instead I went to Bali Jatra during the one-hour gap between school and tuition. It was tiring, but anything for Bali Jatra. I am that crazy about Bali Jatra.
So, today I went with Mom. Last three times I went there alone. People always ask me, don't I feel awkward visiting a fair alone? And yes, I did feel uncomfortable initially, but now I am used to it.
I have always visited the fair with my mom. Her office and my school were located at walking distance to the fair ground. Infact, the fair ground is midway between both the the places. When I was a kid, my mom would pick me up from school and we would walk to the fair and return to her office later. This used to be our daily routine during those 7-8 days.
And after I went to college, I used to go to her office and then we used to walk to the fair daily.
But then my mom retired and could not travel daily to visit the fair because of her health. I found no one else is crazy enough to accompany me daily. When my sister and bff hadn't moved out of town for higher studies/job, they used to go with me somedays. But after them, I got used to visit the fair alone.
Today, I bought a new Lord Jagannath idol from Bali Jatra. As an Odia, it doesn't matter how many such idols, posters or photos we have in our home, there is always space for more.
Then, I found some cute palm leaf Pattachitra bookmarks. Pattachitra is traditional Odia scroll painting. They are usually painted on cloth, palm leaves, coconut shells, wooden surfaces etc.
And of course, fair visit cannot be complete without buying some earrings. I also found Desiblr favourite peacock earrings.
My mom bought household stuffs like phool jhadu, Kandhamal haldi (pure, organic turmeric from Southern Odisha), some organic lentils etc. and then we had chat and pani puri.
Overall, I had a fun day with my mom and got reminded of those school days when we used to do this daily.

3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?
20. What’s something you learned this year?
25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one
Please and thank you ❤️
Thanks for asking my sweetie pie ❤️🦋
3. My downloaded music list for this year tells me I haven’t actually gotten a lot of new stuff… but, among those things, I’m now actively listening to Nita Strauss, after seeing her shows on two occasions.
20. I learned a bunch of things this year - a few Iron Maiden songs on the bass, that COVID is still with us (grumble), that we do actually have a practical limit on the number of cats we can have in the house. But what I’ve spent a lot of time working on learning is how to speak Italian, and a good number of useful sentences like “Attento, il mio cane odia le persone” (Careful, my dog hates people), “Gli ingegneri sanno la risposta” (The engineers know the answer), and “Il gelato non è una colazione” (Ice cream is not a breakfast) - though I dispute the wisdom of that last one 😆
25. There weren’t a lot of characters created in the D&D game this year since the players spent a lot of time contending with the bizarre environment they were in - but later on they ran into an unnamed innkeeper at a crossroads inn (twisted into the shape of a corkscrew) within the Angry Earth. The innkeeper is a faerie, since this inn is a gateway to the Feywild… so I described him as Lurch, but with dragonfly wings. He asked the party to “walk this way” when they checked in, and scowled that they repeated his Ministry of Silly Walks gait, not catching them out breaking the rules 😆

Ok. All these are Odia words.
Saralaartha. (Pronunciation- SawrawLaarthaw). Meaning “simple meaning”. (Sarala= simple, Artha= meaning). This one reminds me of David and Kincaid. Best for the FIL-SIL relationship. Hehe
Silpikaar. Meaning “craftsman”. Or “one with the knowledge of fine craftsmanship”. Perhaps Magnus or Nicholas thorn had the power of silpikaar coz they were so good with their skills? Oh oh. Maybe it’s Isabelle coz she helps the iron sisters build stuff!
Achambit. Meaning “extremely shook” “shocked” “surprised”. This one gives of Arthur vibes. Our chaotic babe who just knows how to add a littul more drama. Hehe.
Puramdaara. Meaning “the fort destroyer” or “the one who causes mass destruction”. This word is often used to refer to Indra (goddess of rain ) who causes mass destruction due to cyclones and thunderstorms. This can be used to describe some new power of max!
I really like Silpikaar and Puramdaara. I already kind of have an idea of who it might fit (can't tell you! sorry!) so thank you!!!!!!!!!

Hi Tumblr long time no see but guess what it's always about the boring old stuff
Per me siete tutti scemi e pazzi a vivere così

Cristo Te Odia by Cuarteto de Nos? (Definitely look up a translation for it if you don't know Spanish.)
Without knowing the lyrics: It's okay
Knowing the lyrics: Not my thing (I'm a very devout Christian...)
Reminds me of my hometown which was half Hispanic, and all our neighbors blasting stuff like this at their big outdoor parties

I truly wish the best for y'all <3
This year has been amazing in many ways and one of them is having you guys around here, especially
@onetimetwotimesthreetimess, your writing is amazing , like i am obsessed, and even though i have temporarily stopped reading and writing for a bit, you make me miss it and start it up again.
@literallytypogod , i am so glad that i am mutuals with you here, i can talk about all sorts of odia things and obviously TSC and that combo makes it amazing. And obviously your writing!! I love to see your stuff and i enjoy them immensely
@delightfullyterrible , i don't know what to say. Here, have my heart <3
@wildegremlin , you and i both have been on and off here and that is probably why it makes me happier to sometimes see you in my inbox. i am just glad that we still have some interactions and i hope we keep that going
@potato-jem , when i found out that you are familiar with kpop, that made me so happy because i could talk about how similar some artists (GOT7) are to some characters of tsc. You basically helped me through my obsession (it is ongoing btw) I am just glad you put up with my asks about them <3
Unfortunately i havent been really active here, but i do miss it here. I miss interacting with y'all, all of my moots and anyone else that came across my posts, and nerding about everything and anything
I'll make sure to be here more often
Maybe i will even publish some stuff here, who knows
#i saw my wips when i was searching for smth and i realized i missed writing them#so i wanna get back to that#anyway#i love y'all#truly#tp.e

Oh well I studied in a school where people had to give fines for speaking in hindi and in general people took pride for not knowing their own regional language like I am odia and there was this one guy who literally said he hated speaking in odia because it sounded cheap...? Anyway so yeah there are plenty of people I meet who think English is superior and more classy. Some parents too think the same and encourage children to not learn their mother tongue. It's messy like at one point you want children to know your culture and stuff but then let them never be heard speaking their own mother tongue amidst their peers and scold them for not speaking english
I am sorry but anyone giving English a higher standard than their own language has zero respect in my eyes.
