I came up with maybe not a theory but more of just an observation that the east blue 5 seem to parallel the 5 love languages and it's kinda reframed all of their actions and behaviours towards each other so much for me on my watchthrough. Got brainworms from that one oda interview where he said zoro doesn't like verbally expressing gratitude and prefers to show appreciation through actions and it got me thinking
The 5 languages:
Physical touch - Luffy
Acts of service - Zoro
Quality time - Usopp
Receiving / giving gifts - Nami
Words of affirmation - Sanji
Funnily enough in OPLA we definitely see a lot of physical touch Luffy. He's always playfully punching or hugging crewmates, despite having known the crew for such a short time he's just instantly clingy and physically present around them in east blue.
Zoro is very much an actions person. He's a little emotionally constipated and doesn't verbalise his feelings very much, in fact that seems like the last thing he wants to do, but he will always be looking out for any member of the crew silently, and is almost always the first to spring into action when it's called for. He shows he cares through acts of service and being there for his captain and crew.
Usopps language being quality time is shown pretty well in syrup village with his relationship with Kaya. Kaya is a girl who has everything she could wish for financially, but ussop provides her with a much needed friend, someone to support her and just physically be present and talk to her. He risks so much just to make her smile because being there for his friends is such a crucial and important thing for him.
Nami's love language being giving/recieving gifts means so much to me because it is so often seen as the most shallow of the love languages and I have seen so many poor analysis and digs at Nami's character, reducing her to just being greedy and money hungry. Did they watch Arlong park with their eyes closed??? For Nami, gold or money is a means for her to provide for the people she cares about, to ensure their financial stability and freedom and to keep her crewmates fed and afloat. She spent so long scorned and alone and (believed she was) hated because she created this money hungry persona to save her village and to best Arlong. Every piece of gold she bled to get was meant for that end goal. Nami deserves the financial freedom and gold that being a strawhat pirate could give because for years and years every bit she earned was tucked away for the well-being of others and was then stolen from under her nose. (This paragraph got very long but I'm not sorry I am the captain of the Nami defense squad.)
And finally Sanji reflects words of praise as a love language. I think it's the most clear to see with how Sanji is so quick to praise any female character he comes into contact with, especially Nami, but I think it also reflects his strained relationship with zef while working at the baratie. Zeff is always verbally critical of Sanji as a way to rile him up and to encourage him to leave the restaurant. Zef weaponises what makes Sanji tick to antagonise him and tries to get him to leave that way, but Sanji is far too stubborn and feels too great a debt to leave.
I think east blue definitely shows the 5 dynamics in a pretty clear way and kinda helped me understand what makes the characters tick. Also why some of the characters end up butting heads or getting into arguments. They all show and recieve love in different way, sometimes there are misunderstandings or clashes but at the end of the day they all trust each other with their lives and it's such a strong bond.
Anyways I'll eventually draw some more OP but I'd love to hear any thoughts or other people's ideas if they have any on the matter. Sometimes I get analysis brainworms, and I first shared the idea on discord, but figured why not post it to Tumblr too
ALSO please if anyone has examples from the series that fit the love languages PLEASE share it, makes my heart oougggghhghg.

Okay so lemme explain everything
"I hate buggy sm like kys"
I LIKE BUGGY :(((
He's so silly 😭😭😭
He's bad and shit ik but his actor is so UGHHH
He makes me love Buggy even more
Buggy is actually Oda's fav villain and he's also my fav villain
In the manga, he isn't as like.. scary ig you could say
And he was supposed to be intimidating and stuff (while also being a coward) so the live action made Buggy how he was supposed to be, yk?
"I MIGHT START THE ANIME AFTER I FINISH THE RL ONE"
Don't and I mean DON'T watch the anime
The pacing is HORRIBLE.
Please read the manga, omg
At first, the pacing is good 👍🏽 but then over time, it gets rly bad
The animators make scenes 10x longer than they should be
Add multiple flashbacks when in the manga they only show a flashback like once
So... yeah......
I mean you can still watch it
Who am I to stop you 💀
"Is it foul to say zoro x nami..."
Zoro x Nami....................
I, personally, don't ship it cuz
Nami is more of a lesbian to me and Zoro is.. he's Zoro 💀
I can barely see Zoro with a gf but 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️
I only ship Zoro with one girl
And Nami and Zoro just give off sibling vibes (they're so cute omg)
Idk you can still ship it
I won't see you differently
I just don't like it
"I saw some edits on tt w zoro and this tall woman"
DOES SHE HAVE BLACK/BLUEISH HAIR AND LIPSTICK????
CUZ IF SO....
Her name is Kiku 😍
Tumblr media
You won't see her until eps/chaps 900+...
She's the only girl I ship Zoro with ❤️🤍
She's canonically trans (male to female) 💖💖💖💖💖💖
"Sanji??? Hes like a cook??? X nami?? I saw an edit that he likes her"
Oh... them-
Yes, his name is Sanji
Tumblr media
Sanji likes 99.99% of the women he sees (so he is like Sanji except Sanji isn't a coward)
Sanji's also canonically a pervert and possibly transphobic........ (Oda 🙁)
So he does actually have a crush on Nami and Robin (who wouldn't, I mean have you seen them??? LIKE GOD DAMNNNNN)
But there's a rule Oda will never break and will not allow anyone (by anyone, I mean Netflix cuz he literally told Netflix that he doesn't crew members kissing and shit so yuh) else to break.....
There's no romance among crew members
Meaning Sanji x Nami won't ever be canon
Zoro x Nami? Nope
Luffy x Nami? Yk the answer
So yah
Doesn't stop fans from shipping it though 😎👌🏽
That's it
Wait- were you saying yeah to wanting to know more about Luffy's backstory or-
OH YEAH THATS THE 9NE I WAS TALKING AB W ZORO

Love Languages: Quality Dwellers Pt 2
Last part guys! If I missed anyone you would like me to add please feel free to send an ask! This was a fun series!
Bartolomeo
Tumblr media
This guy loves doing everything with you! Just loves the idea that you accept him and want him around! He shows his love the best by just hanging around and wanting to experience and see everything you see!
Will be pretty stalkerish (think Juvia Lockser-) at first until you approach him and let him know he can be more open and follow you around without hiding about-
He will lose his mind when you go out of your way to spend time with him! And will go even more crazy if you plan a whole day together! Once you mention one word of being down or upset the man has like your whole schedule shut down and you two will do so many fun things together!
Marco
Tumblr media
Due to his chill nature he enjoys the simple things in life and doesn’t really care much about materialistic behaviors or extreme shows of emotions. Just help him clean up the medical office on the ship or go shopping for supplies with him and the man will be drawn to you.
He likes to talk to you as you guys do things together and loves to learn new things about you and your opinions on philosophical aspects of life. Also loves to have fun debates with you and play some minor jokes!
I can also see him wanting to play games or group activities with you; he just likes the bonding experience and seeing your reactions to winning/losing!
Bartholomew Kuma
Tumblr media
Such a good baby ugh-!
He’s a quiet guy who enjoys just being in your presence. He doesn’t like to use his words unless he must and he really doesn’t give me the action/doer role either; he just really likes being near you and seeing you, well being you!
He’s an observer so he loves to watch you do your own thing and see what you might create in your own little word. Whether it be painting, singing, writing or whatever hobbies you do he just finds it fascinating to watch your face concentrate and look determined.
Will suggest you guys go out for a walk into nature or spend time together when you are feeling down; if being with you helps lighten his day than maybe the same works for you too? If not, he will try to find other ways to let you know how much he cares for you!
Nico Robin
Tumblr media
Our archeologist loves to relax together after a crazy day of being with the Strawhats! Whether you two are reading or just talking about your guy’s day she finds the downtime you two share the best moments of your relationship!
She wants to know more about you and uses this time to learn about the things you like and dislike. She knows that at times she is not the best girlfriend/s/o, but she tries and wants to use this time to show you just how much you matter to her!
It might seem like she is just harassing you for questions; but again she just wants to make sure she remembers every detail you mention so when the timing is right she can bring those details to life for you!
Vinsmoke Reiju
Tumblr media
Another quiet babe who tries her best to be a good girlfriend! She didn’t have the best example of what a couple should be like growing up so she sometimes struggles with other forms of communicating her love; but she does know she likes to be with you; and maybe that alone can show you just how much you mean to her!
She finds it rather cute when you request her attention and she can’t deny she doesn’t want to give it to you; she should be the one requesting it!
Will do whatever you ask or want to do! She doesn’t care how silly or lame others might think it is, if you want to do it, she’s going to do it too!
Just loves seeing the smile on your face and seeing your eyes light up and wants to see every moment she can!
Koala
Tumblr media
Due to her past as being a slave it takes a lot for Koala to trust her s/o and show her love for them as well. I can see her as both this and acts of service (on the giving end rather than receiving). Koala doesn’t do well with her words nor her actions when it comes to expressing her love, she also views gift giving to be superficial again due to her slave background.
Time is something that isn’t tangible as well as something that isn’t forced upon someone. It’s something Koala can be in control of and have that control to give or take. It’s reassuring for her that she can enter or leave the situation as she sees fit.
She does enjoy your time together however, but she can’t help but find herself using old coping skills in order to manage these strong emotions; she loves you, she just needs your help in order to show that love!
Viola
Tumblr media
Believe it or not I see Viola as a quality time girl rather than a physical affection girl. My reasoning comes from her relationship with Dolfamingo. We know Oda said they were “very close” and he didn’t want to go into detail, but I feel this closeness was for survival rather than by choice if that makes sense-?
I think that her relationships now will be much different because the physical love that was forced on her in that relationship has led her to have some trauma towards physical affection. I just want to say to this is just my opinion and I have no idea what anyone’s love languages are I am just basing them on how I see them-
Anyway- she sees quality time as something more harmless? Similar to Koala it’s something that she can control; this gives her that comfort she needs that both parties are in a equal field of power, no one can overpower her. Another girl you are going to have to work for, as in to help her bring her guard down due to trauma!

Winter anime 2020
And it’s time for another one of these lists. They kinda keep growing in number and it’s scary, but here it is! This season there were some continuation and some anime that got new seasons (ahiru no sora, chihayafuru, isekai quartet,  kaibukichou sherlock, iruma-kun, radiant, nnt) but here are the new anime we started ^^
{ Winter ‘18 }  { Spring ‘18 }  { Summer ‘18 }  { Fall ‘18 }  { Winter ‘19 } { Spring ‘19 }  { Summer ‘19 }  { Fall ‘19 }
BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.
Tumblr media
This is a typical isekai with a game-like action and plot. It doesn’t have any deeper meaning, but okay for relaxing. Basically, if you want to take your brain out for a walk - watch this!
Darwin’s game
Tumblr media
The manga is better. It always is, but here especially so. It has a really good concept - a battle to the death game in real life, but not as good execution with the anime adaptation, they skipped some of the really important parts. Don’t let that discourage you tho! It has a good character development and nice action scenes, which makes it quite good! And move on to the manga later ^^
Dorohedoro
Tumblr media
A very interesting anime! Weird, but good! Not surprising tho, it’s mappa. The world in which the story is placed is, although very dark, refreshing and unusually good. The characters are unique, lovable, but weird... like really weird. The animation is a bit different, but it has it’s charm. Also, it has it’s fair share of blood and gruesome scenes, so skip it if you don’t like that. We loved it though! One of the favorites ^^
Hands off the motion pictures club!
Tumblr media
Soft. Just goddamn soft. The animation is a bit different and simplistic, but it fits the characters so well. This slice of life pulls you into the imaginative and colorful world of three high school girls who share the love for animation, and the viewer follows their process of getting inspired for plots for their anime and working on creating it. There is not much action going on, but it always leaves you with a positive feeling after watching it.
ID:Invaded
Tumblr media
Yes. Watch it please. Awesome detective/ mystery story. The idea of entering a criminal subconscious (aka the id) is a unique and it gives new possibilities for detectives to find clues. The plot is very intriguing and keeps you on your toes. Its confusing at the beginning, but the story connects better after a few episodes and it makes you want to watch more. The characters are intriguing and their conversations well paced. (also great voice actors and music *-*) It has some darker scenes, murder and suicide mention, just thought I should mention that, but it’s an extremely good anime, so would definitely recommend!
If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die
Tumblr media
As you can see from the title, this is about a girl fangirling over her favorite idol and that’s it, that’s the plot. But, it’s somehow soft, nicely animated and the story is just enough for an episode a week. It shows both the idol and the fan side of the idol culture, especially the less famous groups. Overall, it’s not an anime that will knock you off your feet, but it’s a solid comedy with relatable characters ^^
Infinite Dendogram
Tumblr media
Generic entering-a-game anime. The point of the anime is that every persons possibilities are endless and everyone has the potential to develop into a strong person. Like we said, nothing new. It’s old, but cute concept.
Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
Tumblr media
And we’re pretty sure most people already know about this one! It’s playful, colorful, cute as heck, the main girl gets a bit annoying, but it’s hella good! The story balances comedy with a school setting and a darker side involving yokai and evil things that lurk in the shadows, making it interesting to watch. The animation is pleasant to the eyes and the characters are great, what’s more to want ^^
Kyokou Suiri
Tumblr media
The plot of this anime is more focused on logical and critical thinking rather than on action, though it may seem otherwise from the synopsis. The relationships between the main characters are kind of weird, but in a good way and their interactions are always interesting. We were pleasantly surprised to see the main female character to have a crush on a guy and still maintain her IQ level. Overall, it’s a good anime, it has good voice actors (Mamo-chan <3), but don’t expect to be kept on the edge of your seat.
Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden
Tumblr media
If you watched Madoka, I’m sure you’ve heard about this release. We were happy that they kept the same dementia animation style, especially of witches. It kinda has a more positive vibe than the original but it still keeps some of the original darkness. There are a lot of new magical girls and more plot and action. It’s pretty good, but the original is better (we love them darkness).
Natsunagu!
Tumblr media
A very cute five minute anime about a girl searching for her friend who suddenly stopped answering her texts. The animation is cute and you have nothing to lose if you watch it.
Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga
Tumblr media
It’s about japanese warlords and historical figures, who are resurrected as dogs. Even though they’ve kept their personalities, they can’t say no to dogs drives (pet me hooman!). It’s cute, but not a lot of plot.
Pet
Tumblr media
It has a very interesting idea of entering peoples subconscious and changing it, manipulating their memories in order to control them. But the executions of that idea is... meh, at best. The characters aren’t lovable or memorable, you don’t feel a connection to them. It’s one of those anime that at the end you say ‘It could have been so good’. But yeah, it wasn’t.
Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It
Tumblr media
The title says it all. Comedy, slice of life (but not really, the sample is not representable). You really start rooting for the main couple and they are funny at proving their love. It’s also educational, it does mention and explain some principles. It’s quite funny ngl.
Smile Down the Runway
Tumblr media
A heartwarming anime about a guy who wants to be a designer and a girl who is too short, but still wants to be a model. It’s a story about perseverance, hard work and pushing towards your dreams. Positive and emotional, and you find yourself cheering for the main characters. Perfect if you want a slow paced anime that includes character development.
Somali and the Forest Spirit
Tumblr media
It’s heartwarming, has very clear animation and great voices. The concept is really interesting, the accent is on understanding others different than you and showing love and support. Basically, lots of emotions, it doesn’t have action or a complicated plot, but as a soft story, it’s pretty good.
The Case Files of Jewler Richard
Tumblr media
This show is so filled with emotions and softness, it’s amazing! It’s mostly peoples stories - problems and difficulties they overcome on their own or with help of the people close to them, which also have some connection to a jewel. The plot focuses more on the main characters in the later episodes. But the art is very pleasing and the main characters have good chemistry. Of course, it’s not for those who don’t like a bit more of a slow paced story, mostly based on storytelling and human interactions. But it’s still good ^^
Watched but got to lazy to properly review: Ishuzoku Reviewers (sometimes you just have to admire that someone had the imagination to come up with some of the episodes), Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (not terrible, not that good either)

Note
I have a really hard time with Reiju and mom Vinsmokr character. I just don't understand where reiju is in the Vinamoke dynamic and how strange the mother plot line is.
I find her existence practically irrelevant cause it fails to emphasise the important part of Sanji personnality and characters flaws. I really can't comprehend why all of this seems so disconnected for me.
And Reiju is a characters who, I think is forgiven by vertu of being a girl. She lacks empathy, she's not that kind and even she's defends or heals Sanji, I feel her flaws are really not emphasise.
I don't know why but this whole Sanji arc gives me that strange effect.
And I love Sanji pre eclipse, so it's maybe that bit still
So, uh. I'm going to be frank about Sanji here. I have issues with his character that go beyond his sexual harassment of women and my mind isn't going to be changed, so I'm not interested in people trying to change my mind, okay? If you don't want to see some of my negative feelings about Sanji, please just ignore this. This is all subjective and based on my own experiences watching One Piece and I'm going to be as nice as I can in this post. I'm not even going to tag any characters, so I really don't want to be given grief for voicing my thoughts on my frustration with Sanji's portrayal.
Okay?
Reiju is complicated. You feel like she wants to do right and be a better person, but she has been raised in an abusive environment her entire life. She doesn't have the tools. We aren't born naturally compassionate people. You have to learn and work at it and keep working at it for the rest of your life. Sanji got out and was put in a better environment where he was allowed to nurture his talent and interests. Zeff wasn't a perfect guardian (in fact he had and has a lot of flaws that help explain a lot of Sanji's shortcomings) but he loves Sanji and has encouraged his cooking and his need to nurture people through food.
I don't believe Reiju is completely without emotion or completely lacks empathy. I don't know how far you are in the arc, but her actions demonstrate a capacity for kindness. I just think her and the others' compassion was beat out of them because they were "special" in their father's eyes and their father saw fit to use them as weapons. Weapons have no need for emotions or kindness. Sanji was the disappointment and I think his mother gave him special treatment because of this. Sora encouraged Sanji to cook and we're to believe he gets this kindness from her, because she was kind to him. Which I guess checks out. Sanji is kind but not nice (which is an important distinction) and that frustrates me about him, but he does the right thing. And it's because of Sora and Zeff. So Sora is important in that regard.
And as for Reiju's flaws not being emphasized, I kind of feel like Oda believes that Reiju defends Sanji because of this archaic idea that women are naturally caregivers or whatever. But I'm going to ignore what Oda's possible intent is because I think the text shows that the Vinsmokes aren't entirely hopeless. Based on Sanji and Reiju, I think all Vinsmoke kids actually have the capacity to do right by others. They just need the tools. All of them.

Day 5
Favorite Couple
Surprise, surprise my favorite couple is Ritsu and Masamune LMAO so let's keep the nostalgia going @sihjrweek (again if you haven't then read my previous entries for context ❤)
***
"I won't be able to hang out after school tomorrow." Ritsu said, currently dressing and desperately wishing that his Senpai would STOP staring at him. However, Saga was perfectly content to stay naked under his covers and watch Ritsu put on his clothes. Of course, the older teen would've preferred that Ritsu keep them off and spend the night, but it was a school night and Ritsu's mother wouldn't allow it.
"Why not?" Saga asked, sitting up. It had been almost two weeks since White Day, the jar of stars on Saga's nightstand, some of them obviously unfolded and refolded. Although Saga was still understandably irked about his boyfriend having a literal fiancée (even if Ritsu insisted she wasn't one) he spent as much time with Ritsu as he possibly could. That included hanging out in the library after class every day. Maybe Saga was becoming a little clingy or needy, but he didn't care.
"My parents want to spend the day with me tomorrow since it's my birthday." Ritsu shrugged. He had finished dressing and now he had moved on to trying to fix his hair.
"Tomorrow's your birthday? Why didn't you tell me it was coming up?!" Saga asked. He had no time to plan anything! He had no present, no cake, no way to celebrate!
"Honestly, I sort of forgot my birthday was coming up until my mom said something yesterday. It's not really something I ever think about." Ritsu said, not seeing what the big deal was.
Saga huffed. "Well, start thinking about it, moron. I want to do something with you for your birthday." He said. "Let's celebrate over the weekend."
Ritsu blushed, flattered by the unexpected offer. "W-We don't have to do something, Senpai. I'm happy just seeing you." He said.
Crap, why did he have to say such cute shit like that? It made Saga want to yank him right back into bed and kiss him breathless.
"You see me almost everyday. I wanna do something more special than that." Saga said. He didn't like that it wouldn't be on Ritsu's actual birthday, but at least it gave him a little more time to prepare. He watched as Ritsu opened his mouth to protest. "Please?" Saga spoke softly before the brunette even got the chance.
"O-O-Okay." Ritsu agreed, a little caught off guard by the gentle 'please'.
"Come over on Saturday. You can spend the night."
Ritsu nodded. "I'll see you Saturday then." He said, trying not to think too deeply about what 'spending the night' would hold, otherwise he'd become a flustered mess.
"Wait, c'mere." Saga said after Ritsu grabbed his bag, clearly ready to leave.
Ritsu shuffled closer to the bed and Saga grabbed his hand before pulling him down to give him one last kiss. "Love you."
Ritsu predictably turned cherry red. "Y-you can't just sneak attack me like that!"
"What about that was sneaky?"
"Y-You know what I mean!" Ritsu quickly tried to put distance between them, but Saga held his hand tightly.
"Say it back."
"S-S-Stop teasing me!" Ritsu was not at all used to hearing Saga say the L word yet. It also seemed like every day Saga was becoming more affectionate. Not that Ritsu disliked it! Quite the opposite in fact! His poor heart just couldn't take it.
"Not letting you go till you say it." Saga said, leaving a few kisses on Ritsu's hand. Maybe if he embarrassed Ritsu enough he'd get the response he was looking for.
Ritsu's knees almost gave out from such a simple, but intimate action. "I-I can b-barely talk at all when y-you do things like that!"
'Damn it. I really don't want him to leave.' Saga thought. "You're sure you can't spend the night tonight?" He asked.
"My mother would kill me for even thinking about it." Ritsu said.
Saga sighed and flopped on to his back, still holding Ritsu's hand. "Fiiiiine."
"So...you have to let me go..." Ritsu reminded him, half-trying to wiggle his way out of his grip.
"You have to say it back first." Saga said.
"I-I love you too."
Saga, although he didn't want to, released Ritsu's hand. "See you Saturday. Around 12 sound good? We can have lunch together."
Ritsu nodded in confirmation, deciding to be just a little bold and kiss Saga's cheek before running off quickly.
Shit, that brat! Doing something cute like that and running away before Saga could grab him.
'Saturday.' Saga reminded himself before groaning. 'Fuck, what am I even gonna do for Saturday?'
The next day Saga decided to skip the library at the end of classes since Ritsu wouldn't even be there. Plus, he needed to use his free time to try to find a present for him. He felt like a book was a safe bet, but that was also just way too obvious. Still, the bookstore wasn't a bad place to start.
Saga took his time looking through titles, eventually reaching for a book. His hand ended up meeting another and he pulled away, looking over to see who was trying to get the same novel.
Kohinata An.
Saga couldn't help but to frown. Why, why of all people did it have to be her? Ritsu had told Saga that An knew about them, which didn't bother the upperclassman, but he still didn't want to see her.
"Oh, hello, Saga Senpai." An said before giving a knowing smile. "You're here to shop for Richan too, aren't you?" She had been invited to by Youko Onodera to spend the day with them and Ritsu for his birthday, but she had politely declined. She knew it was just a way for Youko to try to set them up.
Saga tried not to look too terribly annoyed at the question. She was Ritsu's friend, of course she knew when his birthday was and of course she'd be getting him a present, but something about it still bothered him.
"Yeah." He answered.
"Richan's sooooo hard to shop for. Every year I try to keep an eye out for something he might like, but I always end up resorting to books." She laughed, but slowly lost her smile when Saga did not react. "Um, Saga Senpai, I..." She trailed off.
"What?" He asked, hoping she'd leave him alone soon.
An hesitated, wanting apologize for what happened on White Day, but instead she smiled and grabbed the book off the shelf. She held it out to him. "You should get Richan this book. He's been reading a lot more fantasy novels lately and I've heard a lot of good things about this one. He'll love it."
Saga slowly took the book out of her hands. "...thanks."
An nodded. "Oh and, one more thing." She said before making herself look as stern as she possibly could. "If you ever hurt Richan, you'll be sorry. So you better treat him right!"
Saga was a little dumbstruck by that, having expected some declaration of rivalry instead, so he only nodded.
Still, that was enough to satisfy An. "Good. Have a nice day, Senpai." She said before taking her leave.
Maybe this An girl wasn't too terrible...
Saga would still keep an eye on her, but he supposed she wasn't the conniving boyfriend stealing witch he suspected her of being.
He looked down at the book he was holding, deciding to get it along with a new horror novel release. Ritsu didn't seem like the type to like that kind of thing, but Saga had been proven wrong by Ritsu's extensive collection of horror books.
'He reads horror but not shoujo...make it make sense.' Saga shook his head at the thought, leaving the store after making his purchases. He stopped in a bakery, getting a small strawberry cake for the two of them to share before heading home to work on his last gift. He needed as much time as he could possibly get for that one.
Once Saturday came, Saga tried to hide how excited he was to celebrate with Ritsu. He felt like such an idiot being so happy over something like this. He hoped Ritsu was just as happy.
"You're sure this is where you wanna go for lunch? We can go anywhere you want, it'll be my treat." Saga said, the two of them entering Pandaway together.
"Y-You don't have to-"
"I want to." Saga interuppted, not letting Ritsu try to talk him out of here.
"I want to eat here." Ritsu assured him. "I like this place, it reminds me of our first d-date." He admitted before he looked at Saga nervously. "That...was a date, right?"
"What else would you call it?" Saga asked as the two of them got in line.
"I just wanted to make sure." Ritsu said, now embarrassed for asking.
Saga just hummed in response. Ritsu was always asking things like that, but Saga hoped he'd be able to quell these insecurities of his.
"Want me to order for you?" Saga asked.
"That's even more embarrassing than stumbling and stuttering over my order." Ritsu said. "Besides, I'm a little more prepared than I was the first time." He added, determined to redeem himself.
Saga held back a laugh and shrugged. "Alright, if you say so."
The two soon got to the front, Saga ordering first. Ritsu ordered afterward, only panicking one or two times when he hadn't heard the employee correctly, but he actually managed to get through the process without wanting to die. Saga paid for them both before Ritsu could even attempt to pay for himself.
The teens sat across from one another with their food, eating and talking casually.
"What did you end up doing with your parents for your birthday?" Saga asked before taking a bite of his sandwich.
"Oh, it was actually really cool! My dad set up for me to meet the author Sumi Ryouichi. When I stopped completely panicking I got to talk to him about his books, including one that's in the works right now." Ritsu said with a bright smile. "After that we went to some fancy dinner, which was nice, but not really my thing." He added with a laugh.
"How the hell did your dad set that up?" Saga asked. He knew Ritsu's parents were wealthy, but what sort of connections did they have?
"My dad's company publishes Sumi Sensei's novels."
"Your dad's what?"
Ritsu frowned and furrowed his eyebrows a little bit. Had they not talked about this before? "My dad's company, Onodera Publishing."
"Onodera?"
"Yeah...like...my name?" Ritsu didn't understand what was confusing about this.
"Onodera...not Oda?"
Ritsu paled. No. Nonononono, this wasn't really happening! "Did I not ever properly introduce myself to you?" Ritsu squeaked out.
"No. I knew your name from the library cards. Are you telling me your name isn't Oda Ritsu?" Saga asked. Well, this was probably the most random and creative way to make Saga feel like the worst boyfriend ever. He hadn't even known Ritsu's actual name!
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Ritsu apologized quickly. "I-I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote down that name, I didn't want to seem like a stalker and write my real name, b-but now I realize that doesn't really make any sense." Ritsu put his face in his hands, wanting to hide forever.
"First a fiancée, now a fake name and you're suddenly an heir to a publishing company. You're not gonna tell me you're on the run from the cops next or anything like that, are you?"
"Of course not!" Ritsu hastily denied, not yet realizing that Saga was only teasing him. "I'm sorry, I swear I didn't hide this intentionally, I-"
"I know." Saga assured. He knew his boyfriend flip flopped between laser focused determination and totally scatterbrained, so he wasn't too mad about this. "But it would've been sort of funny if I still didn't know and found out after ten years or something." Saga said. That would've been quite a story.
"That would not be funny, that would be mortifying." Ritsu pouted.
Saga just chuckled and resisted the urge to reach over and ruffle his hair.
Once they finished eating and threw out their trash, Saga spoke up. "I was thinking we could go see the cherry blossom trees. If that's something you'd like."
Ritsu smiled. "I'd love to!" He said. "I love doing anything as long as it's with Senpai."
Saga held back the desire to frown. Why did Ritsu have to say cute things like that when he couldn't kiss him? He settled for reaching out and holding his hand.
"H-Hey!" Ritsu was quick to protest, but Saga held on.
"You can't just say something like that and not expect consequences." Saga said. "Come on, let's go." He walked, still holding Ritsu's hand.
Ritsu attempted to free himself a few more times, but to no avail, especially since him flailing his arm brought more attention than just the two of them holding hands.
Plus, not wanting to lose Ritsu among the other cherry blossom viewers was a good enough excuse to hold on to him. The crowd wasn't incredibly thick, but it was a pretty popular activity and it was a weekend as well, so there was a steady amount of visitors.
The flowers were in full bloom, painting the view a gentle shade of pink.
"I've never been cherry blossom viewing before." Saga admitted.
"Really?" Ritsu looked away from the flora, looking to his Senpai instead in surprise.
"Yeah. I'm glad I'm seeing them for the first time with you."
Ritsu turned as pinker than the petals around them. "W-Why do you always have to tease me?"
"I'm not teasing." Saga frowned a little. "I'm serious."
Ritsu looked away from him, unable to meet his eyes out of embarrassment. "Well...I-I'm glad you're with me too." He said softly, giving Saga's hand a slight squeeze.
Ba dump
Fuck, Saga didn't know if he'd ever be able to admit it out loud, but Ritsu was able to make his heart pound way too easily.
'I want to do this with him every year.' Saga thought. There was so much Saga wanted to do with Ritsu in general. He could only hope that he'd get the opportunity.
"Let's head back." Saga said after the two had been strolling together for a while. "I wanna kiss you and if I try to do that here you'll freak out."
Too late, Ritsu was already freaking out. "Y-Y-You can't just say something like that!"
Saga just shrugged. He was trying to be more open about his feelings, even if those feelings embarrassed the hell out of Ritsu.
"S-Seriously, it's like you're trying to kill me." Ritsu complained with a pout.
"Would love be such a bad way to die?"
Ack! The L word again!
"Yes!" Ritsu huffed.
Saga laughed.
Ritsu felt his entire body heat up. His Senpai...LAUGHED. He couldn't recall a time that he had heard his Senpai laugh before. He wanted to hear it more often, wanted to see him smile like that every day and be the reason for it.
"C-Come on, let's just go." Ritsu said quickly before he became overwhelmed with such thoughts.
Once they arrived back at the older teen's house, Saga took the opportunity to kiss Ritsu, just as he said he would.
"Sit. I'll get the cake and presents." Saga said after he pulled away.
Ritsu went to tell his Senpai that he shouldn't have gone through all that trouble, but he knew Saga would just insist that he had wanted to do this. So, instead Ritsu sat and said hello to Sorata, scratching under his chin. The cat curled up in his lap as Ritsu continued to give him attention.
Saga didn't take long, bringing the cake and presents into the living room. Sorata and Ritsu were definitely a cute sight together, making Saga smile a bit.
"Thank you so much for all this, Senpai." Ritsu said after they had cut the cake and he had opened his gifts. He was admittedly very exciting about his two new reads, even if that made him feel like a nerd. Plus, they were books that Senpai got for him, so that made them even more special.
"There's one more thing." Saga said. "It's in my room." He stood and left, heading up the stairs as Ritsu waited and distracted himself with keeping Sorata from eating the leftover cake.
Saga soon came back down, holding something behind his back. "So, I sort of stole your idea and I didn't have much time to get as good as you with the paper folding, but..." Saga brought a jar full of paper stars forward. They were pink like cherry blossom petals. He sat back down next to Ritsu as he spoke. "I noticed you still look so...shocked whenever I tell you I love you. Even now you're always saying stuff like 'we're dating right?' when I keep telling you how I feel. So, I thought that this might be a nice reminder. If you ever start doubting my feelings for you, you can read as many as it takes for you to stop doubting. This is real, Ritsu. What we have and what I feel for you is real and I don't want you to forget that." Saga said, handing the jar over. "These are only some of the reasons, though." He added, thinking there weren't nearly enough stars.
"Some?" Ritsu stared at the stars. This jar full was only some of the reasons Saga loved him? This couldn't be real.
"Well I couldn't fit all of them. I didn't have enough time." Saga said. "Because someone didn't tell me their birthday was coming up."
Ritsu just smiled. "Thank you." He said, excited to read all the little messages inside the stars, but he'd wait till he was alone so he didn't melt into a puddle right in front of Saga.
"Mm. Happy birthday. I love you."
"I love you too."

Hiii! I really love your doctor headcanons and just finished watching final fantasy and tangled so I've got an idea. 😃 Can I request a healer MC who can use magic to heal but she heals not only human, but animals and plants (dead trees)? But because she is afraid of people exploiting her power, she hides in a forest and one day the warlord found her by accident. Can I please request Nobunaga, Mitsuhide, Kenshin and Yukimura? Thank you very much. Have a nice day!
That’s an interesting one! And I have been rewatching the avatar lately, this will be really fun to do!
Magical healer MC.
Oda forces.
Nobunaga Oda.
You two met during a war, Nobunaga was hurt but he didn’t care. It was an arrow on his shoulder and a few small cuts on his body. He guided his men to the secret camp, ready to begin his next plan to win the war.
But then he saw someone on the woods, Nobunaga only saw a shadow of this person, he figured it was a spy. Nobunaga could send any of his men to take care of this, but he decided to let them rest for now, he ordered hideyoshi to take the lead while he was going to investigate.
Going through the woods was uncomfortable, but he didn’t care. After walking in search for the spy, he found a house at the distance. It was old, small, but surprisingly well reserved. Before he could take any action, Nobunaga felt something strange within him, it was then that he realized... that arrow was poised!
He opened his eyes to a sweet smell, he couldn’t feel his firm armor, only the soft futon against his back. Something soft was touching his wounds, and suddenly the pain would go away. He looked up, and saw someone beautiful, Nobunaga moved his hand to touch your face, it made you look at him.
“Oh, you are awake...”
You sounded unsure, as if it was a bad idea to take care of him. He looked at your hands, they were involved by a glowing water. How strange...
“Who are you?”
His commanding voice echoed, carnelian eyes fixed on yours. It wasn’t supposed to sound intimidating, but it wasn’t something he could control.
“It doesn’t matter who I am. You were badly hurt, I was lucky to take out the poison before it spread.”
Nobunaga looked at you, you were so bold to talk to him like that, he smirked, letting you take care of him. Be very sure, Nobunaga memorized the way to your house, he will visit you very frequently.
Mitsuhide Akechi.
It was during one of his schemes, the fox needed to pretend to betray His Lord again to deceive one of his enemies. And in the process, was tortured badly. As long as he had his tongue intact, it was enough for him.
He walked for hours through the forest, it was part of his plans to wait for the right moment to streak against the enemy. But the details weren’t important, he needed a place to hide until the right hour. He saw a house in the distance, seem abandoned.
Cautiously, Mitsuhide entered the house without any difficulties, except for the fact that he was surprised to see that it wasn’t an empty house. A startled girl, looking scared at him, lived there. The house might be old from the outside, but the inside was freshly new. Still, he couldn’t ignore the girl.
“Now, calm down. I have no intentions of hurting you, my dear. Let go of the broom.”
“How am I supposed to trust you? You broke into my house!”
“I wonder who is more suspicious. Me, who entered a place that looked abandoned. Or you, who live in it.”
“I am the one making questions here! W...wait... you are injured! Badly injured!”
“You wish to care for me now? My, how adorable.”
You didn’t let him continuing to talk, it was too distracting. You forced guided him to sit down so that you could take care of those horrific wounds.
His foxy eyes widened as he saw what you were truly capable of. Your hands were involved by water, as it glow with life. Brushing it against the injuries, the wounds would slowly close. His amber eyes were fixed on your face, it was truly filled with concern.
Mitsuhide only stayed long enough to know your name and to be cured of his injuries. Oh, but be very sure that he would come back for you. You were just too fascinating.
Uesugi-Takeda forces.
Kenshin uesugi.
War was his nature, and as such, it was normal for him to get hurt. But we shouldn’t forget that, as the god of war, it was rare the moments where he would get hurt.
But this time, it wasn’t because of a war. He wanted to feel his blood rushing through his veins. That’s why Kenshin was at the forest, trying to find a Ronin to entertain him in a fight.
And he did, though most of them were too weak to keep it up with him, this was starting to get boring. That is when he heard footsteps sounds, he smiled waiting for his next opponent, the sound was coming from behind the bushes. And when they got closer... he was ready to attack!
Oh, wait... it’s just a woman. She didn’t seem to notice him, as he didn’t make a noise when preparing his sword. What a waste of time... Kenshin couldn’t find a worthy opponent and had to stumble across a woman.
He was about to leave, until something started to glow. It was coming from you! More specifically, from your hands. When he looked closer, there was a small animal together with you. It was a bunny that injured his leg.
The transparent, glowing water showed the wound close as you moved your hands. The little animal was cured, you somehow made the water go back to its bag. Now this was impressive...
You caressed the animal’s head, getting up to continue walking. But Kenshin wouldn’t let you go away that easily after what you did.
“You, woman! You aren’t going away.”
Of course, you got startled by him, but tried to keep it calm. You knew you shouldn’t have done this where everyone could see! You gulped dryly, waiting for whatever he wanted, he had a sword after all.
Resuming what happened, Kenshin offered you a place in the palace. Your abilities were perfect for his army, you were their healer now!
Yukimura Sanada.
Yukimura is scared of anything involving magic or sorcery, this boy would shake at the very thought of it! He heard stories of an enchantress who lurked around the woods.
Too risky, there is no way he is going in there! What if the evil enchantress caught him during it? Of course, it was a stupid thing to think, specially for a warrior like him. But one can never be too cautious.
Unfortunately for him, Yukimura couldn’t avoid fate. He needed to cross the forest to reach his Lords’s camp, it was well hidden.
But in the dark of those woods...! No, he is an warrior, he has been through a lot, there is no such thing as an enchantress there! It was just childish stories, just that!
He couldn’t finish that thought, footsteps were heard. Yukimura took his spear, if there was really an enchantress there, he would fight her! But then... it was just a girl, she was walking fearlessly through the forest, as if she was used to it. Is that... the enchantress?
He lowered his weapon, putting it back to its place. You looked so... harmless, how could he be scared of you? How stupid of him... Yukimura was ready to give you an warning about how dangerous that place was for you, since you didn’t seem to notice him, but when you touched a tree, that was almost dying, it somehow received life, it was... cured!
Forget it! You are the enchantress! Yukimura looked at you scared, and started to run walk away to the camp before you had any chance of seeing him.
They were staying in that camp for some days now, so Yukimura didn’t had a choice but to walk through that path, very well armed of course. Though, you have noticed him that night, it was funny to see him walk so scared around there.
So you started to tease him slightly, which increased your closeness to Yukimura. His fear slowly fading, even after the war he would go there just to see you.

He had balls, Nobunaga would give him that, even if he was a fool for thinking he ever had a chance of wooing the Devil King’s queen.
Taking another swig from the sake in his hand, Nobunaga glared as the river of honeyed words continued, drawing polite chuckles from the girl seated at his right. It was a wonder Lord Kunieda hadn’t noticed the warlord’s red gaze yet, intense and burning as it was and for so long.
“My lord,” Hideyoshi murmured next to him, a question in his low, angry tone. It was clear he wanted to tear the visiting lord’s head from his neck just as much as Nobunaga did.
Holding up a hand in answer, Nobunaga didn’t bother looking at his vassal, keeping his gaze set firmly on this idiot who had the audacity to romance a woman while she sat at her lover’s side. There was going to be hell to pay for this, he would make sure of that.
From the moment the Lord Kunieda had arrived, his unworthy eyes hadn’t left (y/n), every few minutes bearing witness to a new attempt to butter her up with sweet words and compliments, the man even going so far as to lay a pile of luxurious gifts from his province at her feet in a very obvious attempt to win her affections.
He hadn’t gone any farther than words and his gaze had remained respectfully on your face, but Nobunaga still didn’t like it, especially since you didn’t seem to express even the slightest discomfort in response to the lord’s advances. If anything, Lord Kunieda’s friendly disposition made matters worse. It would have been easy to cast him out in shame if he had been lecherous or untoward in any way, but he was neither of those things, blinding you to the desire Nobunaga could see lurking just beneath the surface.
When his gaze lingered on you just a moment too long or he moved just a little too close to you to be considered simply friendly, Nobunaga saw it, the same interest he felt towards you reflected in the other man’s eyes, the impulse to take you away and intimately learn all there was to know about your strange, wonderful self, so different than any other woman of the Sengoku.
But your were his treasure, your love his and his alone, and Nobunaga would be damned if he ever let another man take you away from him.
He continued to watch, calculating his next course of action, as you continued to talk with the visiting lord, enthralling him without even knowing it. It seemed as if you and he hadn’t stopped talking for a moment since he arrived, your conversation continuing well into the evening as the Oda warlords and Lord Kunieda’s traveling party feasted on an elaborate banquet.
He watched with narrowed eyes as Lord Kunieda poured your sake for you, a sign of utmost respect, and you thanked him, bringing the red cup to the lips he’d kissed so many times. It was a simple gesture, curious as Kunieda had yet to pour for his host and superior, but nothing to be as overly upset about as Nobunaga was now, the flames of his anger effectively fanned.
This lord wasn’t here to make an alliance if the minimal amount of words he had spoken to the Oda warlord was anything to go by. If anything he was here to make a marriage alliance. To say that Nobunaga was jealous would be an understatement. His blood was boiling with rage and the desire to take you away to his rooms and mark you again and again and again as his own.
Nobunaga had never been the kind to hide his displeasure and now was no exception. Enough was enough.
“Lord Kunieda,” he began, wrapping an arm around your waist as he did and drawing you so close you were practically sitting in his lap. In his peripheral vision he saw you look up at him questioningly, but ignored it in favor of holding Lord Kunieda’s gaze which had snapped up to meet his for the first time since he arrived. Nobunaga took an odd pleasure in the way the man froze under his gaze, mouth pressed into a firm line as he struggled to school his features.
“Y-Yes, my lord?” Kunieda replied, shuffling in place uncomfortably.
‘Yes, squirm, fool.’ Smirking savagely, he continued, “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were here to steal my princess away from me.” A hush fell over the banquet hall and he felt you freeze against him, shooting him a warning look, but he ignored it. “You must have an abundance of confidence in yourself and your province to make such advances in the very presence of your host.”
Lord Kunieda’s jaw dropped, his mouth opening and closing ridiculously before he choked out, “M-My most sincere apologies, my lord! It-It was never my intention to come off as rude!”
“Oh?” Lifting a brow, he watched pitilessly as the man sunk into a bow, his shoulders shaking slightly. “Then what were your intentions?” All pretense of humor was gone from his voice, replaced with cold hostility.
The hall was silent, the room holding its breath. Lord Kunieda finally spoke, his voice shaking as he answered, “I only wished to learn more about the Oda Princess of Azuchi everyone’s speaking of. I’m terribly sorry for letting my own curiosity get the best of me. It was never my intention to make advances or insult my host. Please, don’t let my thoughtless actions reflect on the success of our alliance.”
All eyes turned from Kunieda to Nobunaga who lounged against his armrest, you still tucked safely against his side. “I’m afraid I’m not in the most gracious mood tonight. I’m sure you can understand why.”
Kunieda said nothing, but Nobunaga saw his throat bob.
“I-” he began, but stopped. He would have gladly sent the prostrating lord back to his province empty-handed with his tail between his legs that very second, but his eyes suddenly shifted down to yours and what he saw there gaze him pause, the smug expression on his face falling. Your gaze was pleading, desperately asking him not to do what you knew he was about to do, and while a part of him grew angrier over the fact that you would defend someone who was obviously interested in taking you away, the larger, better part of him knew you were right. He couldn’t blame a man for feeling as he did for someone as amazing as you, but oh how he wanted to tear him apart anyway. “The night grows old,” he finally said, looking back to his audience. “I’ll make my decision to continue as planned or not in the morning.”
A collective sigh or relief went through the visiting party, Lord Kunieda thanking him even as he remained in his bent position, forehead pressed to the tatami mats. A few grumbles went through the Oda forces, but they complied with their lord’s decision anyway, rising to their feet to retire to their individual manors for the night.
Bringing you up with him as he stood, Nobunaga said, “I need to speak with you in the tenshu. Now.” He didn’t wait for your answer before taking your wrist in a gentle albeit firm hold and leading you out of the room, ignoring your questions and complaints as he pulled you up the stairs and through the sliding doors.
“Nobunaga, what was all that about? What were you talking about when you said he was trying to steal me away?” you demanded when he released you, your tone angry and confused as he turned his back on you to close the doors.
He didn’t answer your questions, instead stating, “I’m going to send Lord Kunieda away empty-handed tomorrow morning.”
“What?! Why?!”
His glare met yours, his form towering over you as he took a step closer. “I have no interest in making alliances with men who don’t know not to touch what’s not theirs.”
“He wasn’t trying to make advances on me, Nobunaga!”
“Yes, he was. And you weren’t doing anything to deny him.”
“He wasn’t doing anything wrong!”
Nobunaga scoffed, taking another step closer so that he had you cornered between himself and the wall. “He’s supposedly here to make an alliance, but he hasn’t spoken more than ten words to me. He seems to have plenty to say to you, however. He’s kept your attention from me all evening and you seemed to be enjoying it well enough.”
“I was not!”
“Don’t lie. I saw you smiling at him.”
You pushed hard against his chest, trying to put some space between the two of you, but he didn’t budge. “I was being polite, Nobunaga! If you have this lord’s support, that’s one less province you have to take by force! Why are you being so jealous?”
Taking your chin a little more harshly than he intended, Nobunaga forced you to look up at him, to meet the fire in his red eyes. “He thought he could get close to what’s mine, (y/n). I could see it in the way he spoke to you, the way he looked at you. Are you really so naive and foolish that you cannot tell when another man wants to spread your legs?”
That was too far, and he knew it the second after it passed his lips. The next thing he knew there was a slight stinging sensation in his hand as you smacked him away, your expression hurt and angry as he watched tears bead in the corners of your eyes.
“I can’t believe you,” you choked, stepping away from him before he could reach out to catch you. “I can’t-” Turning on your heel, you bounded out of the room, the sliding door smacking against the doorframe as you pushed it aside in your rush to get away from him.
Nobunaga shouted your name, taking a few steps after you, but you were already long gone, your pounding footsteps growing faint as you disappeared down the corridor. His outstretched hand fell to his side as the warlord bit his lip, head hanging in shame.
His own cruelty astounded him. How could he have said something like that to you, the person he loved so, so much; the only woman he would ever love?
As much as he wanted to chase you down right that instant and hold you close, erasing all the bad as he begged for your forgiveness, he knew that would only hurt you more. You needed time to yourself until you were ready to accept him crawling back into your good graces.
For now, the Oda warlord gently closed the door to his room and sat down on the futon, preparing to wait through the long, sleepless night ahead while the pain he had inflicted on you burned bright in his mind and tears pricked at his eyes.
He was the real fool in all of this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took a week for him to crack, his patience wearing thin as desperation began to set in.
Nobunaga hadn’t slept since his fight with you and what rest he did get was fitful and shallow. The morning after his blunder, with Lord Kunieda and his party anxiously awaiting their fate, he had decided to allow the alliance to proceed anyway, lest he risk incurring any more of your wrath. It surprised everyone in attendance but no one was willing to question it. Even Hideyoshi didn’t dare come near him, sensing the dark cloud hovering over his lord. Kunieda left soon after, saying something about needing to get back to his province, and while you were sure to have heard news of his decision, you still didn’t come to see him.
Nobunaga strained to catch little glimpses of you throughout the days, watching you from the balcony of his tenshu when you went into town, assigning you work via Hideyoshi that brought you closer to him, even peaking through the doors of your room to watch you sew whenever he passed by, keeping as quiet as possible.
As the days went by without a word from you, he grew more and more exhausted. It was lonely without you. His nights were either spent working or staring at the ceiling of the tenshu. He couldn’t sleep without you beside him.
Finally, exactly a week after the fight, he couldn’t take it anymore. He had to make things right with you. He was willing to get on his knees and beg if that’s what you wanted. He just had to have you back in his arms. Anything to stop this agony of being parted.
Rising from his futon, Nobunaga quietly opened the doors and slipped down the stairs, shuffling to your room. A light emanated from beneath the door, but when he knocked softly there was no answer. Calling your name as he opened the door, he found your room empty, a lamp burning low in the corner and half-finished sewing pieces scattered across your desk. The cover of your futon was turned out on one side, signifying that you had gotten up some time during the night just like he had.
Leaving your room, he continued his search for you. He wasn’t going to wait any longer to settle this. He couldn’t.
Nobunaga caught sight of you in the courtyard, sitting on a stone bench and looking up at the moon and stars. His heart thumped in his chest as he stood in the shadows, watching the way the milky light bathed your features, making you ethereal. You were his angel. The only thing that would have made you more beautiful to him in that moment was if there had been a smile on your face. Instead, there was a heaviness to the set of your shoulders, an unspoken sadness that he knew he was to blame for.
Stepping into the courtyard, his wooden sandals crunching on the stones revealed his presence to you. Your eyes snapped to him, clear and surprised in the starlight, and he held your gaze, unable to look away even if he wanted to. This was the first time your eyes had met his in a week. Nobunaga’s hope grew when you didn’t make a move to run away from him, but he stopped before he reached you, leaving a few feet’s space between you and him.
Neither you nor he dared say anything, lest the moment break and the pain and heartache come rushing back in. Lifting his hand in a silent offer, he held his breath as time stretched between the two of you, hoping with all his heart and soul that you would take it, that you wouldn’t turn away from him.
With a shuddering breath, you closed the distance and threw yourself into his arms, fully accepting him. Nobunaga could’ve cried it felt so good to have you close again, warm, safe, and loved. His lips pressed to your head, lingering as he took in your scent and held you tighter.
“Can you forgive me, my love?” he spoke, his voice a low murmur in the night air as you nuzzled into his chest. “Can you forgive me for being a fool?”
You nodded against him, biting your lip as you whimpered and clung tighter to him, your tears wetting his kimono. “Yes,” you choked, taking in a shuddering breath. “I forgive you, Nobunaga.”
“I’m sorry, (y/n). I’m so sorry I hurt you.” The warlord could feel tears of his own pricking his eyes, a burn forming in his throat as he tried and failed to keep his voice steady.
“I forgive you, I forgive you,” you repeated, tilting your head up to look at him. To his surprise, there was a smile on your face, so happy and joyful even as tears continued to stream down your cheeks. “I’ll always forgive you.”
The relief was almost enough to send him to his knees at your feet. His lips captured yours, desperate to feel you after so long without you. Your arms moved from his torso to his neck, drawing him even further down to you as your lips moved with equal passion. Nobunaga didn’t let you go until both of you were thoroughly breathless, even then only pulling back just enough to draw in air, his forehead pressed to your own. “Thank you. Thank you, (y/n).” Giving you another quick kiss, he murmured, “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you, too,” you responded, cupping his cheek in your hand lovingly and brushing away the few stray tears that fell with your thumb.
Catching your hand to press his lips to your palm, he looked at you questioningly, wondering if he had the right to ask you this yet or if the hurt was still too fresh. “Will you come back to bed with me?”
You blinked, processing, before a bright smile appeared on your lips, and he couldn’t help but smile back. “Nothing would make me happier right now, my love.”
He didn’t need more confirmation than that. Taking your hand, the two of you practically raced back up to the tenshu, trying to stay as quiet as possible (not that it would matter later on). Several times, Nobunaga traded joyful smiles with you, and you had to stifle your giggles more than once as he leaned down to give your ear a playful bite.
A weight had been lifted from both of your shoulders, the exhaustion of sleepless nights falling away in response to what the rest of the night promised. There was happiness now where there had been hurt an hour before.
His lips were on yours again before the sliding door was fully closed, eagerly swallowing your moan as his tongue met and tangled with yours. Laying you back against the futon, he continued to kiss you as his hands smoothed up your legs to your obi, parting your kimono and baring your lower half in the process. Kissing down your jaw to your neck, he bit and sucked at the tender skin, leaving marks that would bloom into beautiful hickeys later on.
“Nobunaga,” you mewled, hands fisting in his kimono as his fingers probed at your dampening heat, stroking up until he found the bundle of nerves and pressed on it. He smirked against your neck as you arched beautifully, pushing your breasts towards him and crying out his name. His name would be the only thing you could say by the time he was done.
You whimpered as his hands left you to tug his kimono off and he chuckled, smiling at you as he moved farther down your body and hoisted a leg over his shoulder. “Patience, my love. I have a lot to make up for and I plan to do it...thoroughly.”
Your hands fisted in the futon a moment before his mouth met your core, his tongue licking a strip across your slit as his thumbs stroked at the insides of your thighs, feeling them tremble against his head. He moaned at your sweetly familiar taste and his grip tightened as his tongue slipped inside of you, satisfying his starvation for you. Your moans grew louder and your hips bucked against his face as his hand stroked up your thigh to pinch your clit, drawing circles around the bud with calloused fingertips and drawing you ever closer to your release.
“Ngh-! N-Nobunaga, I’m-!” He hadn’t realized he’d closed his eyes in rapture until they flew open, his mouth detaching from your core with a wet pop and a cry of protest from you. Not yet. He wasn’t going to let you have that pleasure you so wanted just yet. Not until he was buried deep inside of you, falling off over that edge with you.
Leaning back on his haunches to look at you and lick away the traces of your essence dripping from his chin, Nobunaga felt his breathing quicken as he took in the beautiful way your breasts heaved, skin flushed with pleasure, hair spread out around you like a halo, and legs splayed in desire and trust for him. A low growl tore from his throat at the sight, his cock becoming painfully hard as his instincts screamed at him to shove himself into the woman he loved and prove to her there was no one better for her than him, that he was the only one for her. He swore he’d never seen anything more beautiful. You shivered under his hungry, primal gaze, an answering whine rising from you as your lust and love filled eyes beckoned him to take what he wanted, to become as close as possible.
Still, there was one thing he had to do before he could take you the way he wanted.
Reigning himself in for a moment, he leaned down to press a kiss to your breast, feeling your heart flutter beneath his lingering lips. “I never want to hurt you again,” he promised softly, leaning into your touch as your fingers carded through his hair. The expression you were giving him when he looked up had shifted to something so tender and loving, he almost thought this was a dream, that he was actually slumped over his desk in reality and that you were still hurt, nursing your broken heart.  But when he lunged up to kiss you again, desperate and passionate, he knew this was real, your warmth and the feel of your small hands on his back pulling him closer too vivid and familiar to be a dream.
Your lips abruptly broke away from his, your head thrown back against the mussed covers with a moan, when he suddenly rutted between your legs, coating his considerable length in your wetness and prodding against your entrance teasingly. With a moan of his own, Nobunaga’s lips attached to your exposed neck, his breath fanning across your skin as he breathed hard with need.
“Nobunaga!” you begged, wrapping your legs around his waist as you tried and failed to pull him into you.
“Who do you belong to?” he husked into your ear, a deep part of himself needing to hear your response, to soothe the wounded beast that wanted nothing more than to destroy any other man that looked at you.
“You, Nobunaga,” you answered breathlessly, turning your head to look him in the eye. “You and only you, forever.”
“That’s right.” In one smooth thrust he plunged himself into you all the way to the hilt, his roar joining your scream of pleasure. It felt unbelievably good, feeling your walls squeezing and fluttering around his cock as he drove himself into you again and again, imprinting his name into the deepest parts of you. “You’re mine, (y/n). I’m never letting you go,” he snarled, one large hand holding yours above your head while the other gripped your hip, holding you in place.
Each thrust was punctuated with the word “mine” as his fingers tangled with yours, squeezing as he kissed you again, sloppy and breathless. It wasn’t long until he felt his peak approaching, the tightening of your walls signaling your own impending climax. Releasing your hands, he moved back to your clit, pinching and pressing enough to send you over the edge just as he did, roaring your name into the night as his release filled you to the brim and your own dripped down his length. Your satisfied cry of his name rang in his ears as he slumped over you, panting into your ear as your chest rose and fell against his with your own harsh breathing. A few moments passed, but he didn’t pull out, his hips continuing to move against you once more. Nobunaga wasn’t done making love to you tonight. Not by a long shot.
His thrusts were slow, deep, and forceful now, making you feel every inch of him as his body joined with yours. “I love you,” he said softly, burying his face in the crook of your neck as he did and wrapping his arms around you, holding you safe and loved.
You embraced him back, body moving in gentle waves to meet his thrusts. “I love you, too.” He could hear the smile he loved so much in your voice, the smile he’d wished to see for so long. “Always.”
For the rest of the night, he held that smile close as he continued to make love to you. Nobunaga had what he wanted most - your love - and looking into your eyes and seeing the way you looked at him was enough to know he knew he would never lose it.

The forest of Kisara is where things get eaten. Ever since Misao, daughter of the village sower, went missing, the locals sent both young and older men into the forest—only for them to return different. The accounts vary from person to person. Some say that a husband couldn't sleep, foaming at the mouth and constantly choked on his own spit. Another says that their son had a newfound obsession with iron and steel, so much so that he had almost severed an artery hugging a knife in his sleep.
They returned from the search when dusk broke, and the look of hunger that was on their faces—wild and desperate, as though they had seen something in the forest that had made them ravaged was unspoken for. As if giving it a breath of acknowledgement was all it needed for teeth to grow sharper, for nails to become claws and hair to become fur. The village women spoke quietly to each other and talked of how their husband or son had downed five skinfuls of water and did not have their thirst quenched, or even a potful of rice did not tame the animal hunger in their eyes.
Every now and then, some girls would walk by the boundary of forest and tread footsteps, and there would be the smell of roasted pheasants, or burnt hazelnuts, or the mouthwatering scent of her late mother's fried rice. Village patrols would often carry a lantern in the evening and clipped their noses with wooden clothespins, if only to delay another wandering soul into the forest that would not give them back.
Kennyo decided that he would die there. He walked away from the beaten path of stone and green grass, far beyond the housed ladybugs and anthills. If he were to die, he would like to be fertiliser for a nice, pale patch of grass that did not receive enough sunlight. As he walked further into the forest, he ignored the thickets and burs and his itching ankles. He did not don his purple robes today—he would die humbly and quietly, like a peasant by the roadside.
Kennyo walked and walked until he didn't feel the sun on his head, and he sat down under a tall tree and sighed. There was no light there. He'd always suspected that hell was a dark place, but who knew it could be so cold?
He rubbed his arms and shrank into himself like a snail. It seemed like even going into death, he felt apologetic for the space he inhibited. Kennyo closed his eyes and waited for his death to come. He did not bring any water with him, and since he was an adult man, he would feel hungrier sooner than most. His training as a soldier didn't help, he was sure.
Kennyo closed his eyes once more and went to sleep, hoping that he would dream of Ranmaru and Shingen. Even if I cannot see them, he thought as drowsiness knotted his body like a noose, please allow me to be with them when I die. He did not know by who he hoped his prayers would be heard. He had long since forgotten who he owed his virtuosity to.
When he awoke, he felt light. There was another person nearby. Their footsteps were not quiet, so it was unlikely that they were trying to kill him. At least, do it successfully. He slowly felt for a sharp branch at his side and readied himself to use it as a weapon. Even going into death, he was an animal.
He opened his eyes, and there was a woman there. She was crouched near him, but not within arm's length that he could grab her. She was staring at him, a sort of morbid curiosity, like how children would gather around to look at a sparrow's corpse. There was no pity there. Only fascination, and a measured calmness. As if she was judging how long it would take for his body to rot.
Kennyo opened his mouth for his usual words of warning and threats to come flying, but the woman held a finger in front of his lips, another one pressed to her own. “Shh.”
He wanted to retaliate, but he heard the familiar footsteps of soldiers thumping through the forest, and he held his breath. Then, he heard a voice call out: “Did you find anyone?” It was a lukewarm voice. Tokugawa Ieyasu is here. Try as Kennyo might, his mind cried his human voice once more. Why is he here? Are they planning a siege against the village?
The woman regarded him for a second, and then turned her head to answer the voice beyond the trees. “Just a cat,” she said.
The Mikawa traitor was quiet. “...Alright. Will you find your way home?”
“Yes.”
Kennyo felt his brows scrunch in dogged anger. How foolish was the man allied with Nobunaga? Forget soft-hearted, he was straight up callous in his neglect. To leave a woman behind—in the middle of war, no less!—and to not even doubt her word or safety in a forest? Every time he learned more of the Oda forces, it was like salting the ocean. He waited until he couldn't hear the footsteps of the foot soldiers and their clunky armour and weaponry.
It happened in a swift moment. Kennyo recalled bringing his hand and pointing the sharp end of the branch to her neck—and then the next thing he knew, he was on the forest floor, and the weight of her leg was pressing on his elbow as she twisted his wrist until there was a cracking sound. Kennyo ignored the pain, his eyes finding hers as he spoke. “If you want to kill me, do it now.”
The woman's eyes were empty of threat and bore no anger or wariness. Blue, like the colour of the summer sky. Blue, like the veins that ran under his skin. Blue like a drowned corpse. “Why would I?”
The traitor of Mikawa truly fell for such a naive girl. Perhaps that had turned him foolish as well. There was a true question in her voice. “Because I will kill you if you do not.”
She tilted her head, and he realised that her hair was white, the colour of a paper doll for rainy days. The colour of a nine-tailed fox. “Then I will kill you when you try to do so.” She released her grip on him and shifted her weight from his arm. He brought his arm back to himself, the action like a whip. Kennyo felt for his wrist and winced.
The woman stood up, then bent at the waist as her hands reached to her ankles. Kennyo felt himself stiffen. He has dealt with assassins before, but not someone who so openly declared their intent. To his surprise, she did not reach for a hidden knife, or a needle, or even a small rock. She tore the edge of her kimono and fingered a gap in the seams until it was just a small piece of fabric in her hands. She turned to him.
He has never met this kind of assassin before. He backed into the roots of the tree until his back felt the grain of the wood. He couldn't stop staring at her. She looked straight at him, and then she yanked his leg closer—suddenly, he was a five year old child that refused to be bathed.
He didn't know he was still capable of feeling embarrassment. “What… are you… doing?” He tried to claw at her sleeve and attempted to push away her hands, to no avail.
She simply tugged his one leg closer, and soon he could not feel the wood anymore, and she was close enough for him to kick. Regretfully, he raised his free leg and swung at her.
The woman did not release his leg, nor did she flinch. She simply leaned back as if she had predicted him. Her lips were loose in a flat line and her eyes were ignorant to the concept of danger. It reminded him of Nobunaga's arrogant mug and he tried to cease the unrelenting thought that he should punch her. He was far past ethics or any shred of decency, but still.
“Stop moving,” she said.
“Stop touching me,” he growled.
“If I stop touching you you'll just run away again.”
“I—” he paused and inhaled a much-needed breath. Like dealing with a child. “I won't run away.”
She was quiet, contemplating. “Promise.”
“What?” He asked incredulously. When she did not repeat herself, he sighed. “I promise.”
“Promise not to run away.”
“I promise not to run away.”
She nodded, then let go of his leg abruptly. The action was so sudden that it hurt when his one leg hit the ground. He cursed under his breath. Wretched woman—…
Kennyo closed his eyes and took deep breaths to calm himself. I am Kennyo. I do not hurt someone weaker than me. I am Kennyo, and I will not hurt someone weaker than me. When he felt he was more himself again, he opened his eyes and leveled a glare at the white-haired woman with blue eyes. “Before you touch my leg again,” he said, “What will you do to it?”
The woman showed him the cloth she ripped from her kimono. “Your ankle is bleeding.”
He narrowed his eyes and frowned. “Then you should've just told me.”
She approached him again, slowly and carefully, like one might approach a feral kitten. “Not needed. The goal was to help you, and I will do that whether you know of it or not.”
Kennyo sighed. She reminded him a little of Date Masamune, in the short time he's known him. “Go ahead, I suppose.”
The woman nodded. Her hands were cold when they touched his ankle, and when she pressed a little into the wounds, he could bite back the hiss from his mouth. She was looking at him the entire time, not shying away from his gaze. When she finished bandaging her ankle, she stood up. “I'm going now. Don't touch your wound unless it's to clean it. And try not to let it get wet when you shower.”
“Who are you?” Her hair was white like snow. Her hands were cold. Perhaps he should call her snow woman. “Why did you help me?”
“Call me a hazy dream if you so wish,” she said. “I helped you because it hurts.”
It hurts. Not because he was hurting. Kennyo blinked. The fool of Mikawa fell for a fool as well. “I didn't ask for your help,” he spat out bitterly. He breathed in and out. I am Kennyo, and I am courteous. I am Kennyo, and I am not hurting. “But, well—I appreciate your thoughtfulness.”
Somehow, her eyes looked disgusted when he uttered his thanks. Did he say something wrong? “Save your thanks for a nicer person.” The snow woman turned heel and walked out of the woods to the gravel path, where the sunlight hit her. He couldn't see her clearly between the foliage of trees and leaves, but he heard her voice. “See you then, Mike.”
Mike? Ah, his clothes. He supposed there was some semblance of a calico cat in his appearance. If he squinted. Kennyo shook his head. What a strange snow woman. Perhaps she's a youkai of these woods. It seemed fitting that Nobunaga would foster demons in his lair. He was once one of those demons after all.
His plans for death disrupted, Kennyo decided to return home for the day and try again tomorrow. When he came out of the woods, the villagers crowded around him, asking him if he was okay, asking him if he saw anything strange in the forest. He did not answer, nor did he ask when no one offered him a bowl of porridge or gruel.
Then he walked into the forest again the next day, and the snow woman was there again.
Kennyo schooled his expression dispassionately. “Why are you here?”
The snow woman looked at him. “Looking for a cat.”
He sighed. “There are no cats here.”
“Sure there is,” she said, and pointed at him. “There's one right there.”
Silence.
The sound of crickets chirping.
“Was that…?” Kennyo trailed off, afraid of the answer.
To his horror, the snow woman nodded. “A joke.” Her eyes casted to the forest floor, as if disappointed. “I'm not good at it yet.”
Kennyo sighed. There was a saying that every sigh escaping your lips was also your happiness slipping out. He didn't know he had much of those left, but around her, he sighed as if he was the village fool, obtuse and laugh-filled. Happy, but still. He sat on the ground, resting his back on the bark of a tree. “Why do you keep coming here, snow woman?”
“I told you I was looking for a cat,” she said, and sat down next to him uninvited. “So I don't intend to leave until I find him.”
I am Kennyo, and I will die soon. “It can't be helped. I will help you find him.”
“Not needed.”
“Are you not travelling with Tokugawa Ieyasu to the eastern border? Why are you here?”
“Because I can find my way back just as easily.”
It's been a while since I've met someone so indirect yet straightforward at the same time. He should be grilling her with questions right now. He should be asking her of her importance to the Oda, and to threaten her life. He was too tired. He didn't want to think anymore. “Why did you call me Mike?”
She turned to meet his gaze, and her eyes were like a wall of glass—solid, but see through. “Why do you speak his name like that?”
Kennyo blinked. “What?”
“Tokugawa Ieyasu. Like… you pity him.”
He raised a brow. “How come you're certain I'm not pitying him because he has to deal with you?”
“Because I'm helpful and reliable.” Unlike before, there was a non-question there. As if she knew it herself, she spoke without reservations or modesty. It was a refreshing thing, at least. The women in the village often discredited themselves in favor of humility. “Why do you pity him?”
“Because he—!” When he realised he had raised his voice, he took a breath. I am Kennyo, and I do not hurt others. I am Kennyo, and I will not hurt others. “Because he and I are of the same kind.”
The snow woman's eyes bid him to continue. “Tokugawa Ieyasu is… a man driven by ire,” he said slowly, the words trickling slowly like a mountain stream. “He has an immeasurable hatred for the Imagawa, yet he bided his time and striked when the iron was hot. He… sharpened every roundness in his body to become a thorn. He even allied with Oda Nobunaga, of all people. He is a desperate man.”
The snow woman was quiet. “Your information is lacking and incomplete. Most of what you said is conjecture and not evidence supported by context.”
He had no idea what half those words meant. “What?”
She muttered something about thesis papers under her breath, and then she spoke. “The first half of your opinion was correct. He does hate the Imagawa, and it is true that he has sharpened even the tip of his tongue. But your implication that he chose to ally with Nobunaga out of desperation and not choice is half-baked. It was a choice made in desperation, not desperation itself.”
His brows scrunched. “There's no difference.”
“Sure there is.” The snow woman reached out for a branch and then smoothed out a patch of dirt, drawing a circle that overlapped in the middle. “This part is desperation,” she pointed to the circle on the left, “and this part is choice.”
“What's this?”
“A Venn Diagram.”
“A… what?”
“It's a useful tool for  finding similarities and distinctions between two objects.” With the end of the wooden stick, she tapped the middle part of the overlapped circle. “This is where Ieyasu lives.”
He couldn't understand. “He is 'desperate' and 'choice'?”
“He is both desperate and making a choice. One might call that instinct. Put into circumstances that pushed him into desperation, he made a choice that he would do whatever it takes to live. And that led him to ally with Nobunaga.”
Kennyo was quiet. “...You speak as if he is an animal.”
“It is not as bad of an image you perceive,” she said. “What is wrong with letting the animal of your body do what it must do to live on?”
His mind cried human once more. He wanted to be leader of the Ikko-Ikki, to be the responsible man of the village that everyone could look to. But he was tired. “What separates humans and animals are intellect. The ability to congregate and to socialise.” Even ants were soldiers. “Society would collapse should we build our wisdom atop a pile of corpses like territorial beasts.” Buddhism was about finding peace and serenity in oneself, so that one might be unshakeable in the face of change. Humans are greedy and malicious.
“What separates humans and animals are their awareness of the future. We plan and we innovate, if only to better the lives of the people that come after us. Is it not the same for you?” She tilted her head in a non-question, just as she had before. “Did you not seek death alone so as to not worry your friends and the people that care for you?”
Kennyo's mind was blank. He was tired. “How did you—”
“I'm rather good at finding cats that curl up and die alone.” She stood up then, and the slightest gap in the trees lent her light, looking as though the snow of her hair and the ice of her body would soon melt into nothing. “You believe in the concept of a higher power, do you not?”
His mind was still reeling from her words. “Yes.”
“Then why did you think you were ever alone? Is your god so pitiful that you thought They couldn't find you in a forest?”
Kennyo stood up, flushed and angry and embarrassed. “Do not dare insult my beliefs.”
She casted him that disgusted look once more, like he had thanked her for the wrong reasons. This woman is inscrutable. “You are the one that is insulting your own beliefs by going into some ditch to die. If you truly believe in higher power, then why do you not believe in hope?”
“I—” he stuttered. He hasn't stuttered in ages. Like a child. “It is different for me.”
The snow woman reminded him of Tokugawa Ieyasu at times. Her flat, unrelenting gaze and the way she would press at his wounds to see how much pain he could handle. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was being tested for something.
“I am leaving,” she said, and her words brooked no arguments. Kennyo felt a little irritated of the way she carried herself so easily and without question. “Do find a quieter place to die next time.”
He returned home in the veil of night, and early morning he headed into the woods again, where he found her carving something with a knife. When she saw him, she smiled. It was the first smile she'd ever shown him. “Come to die again, Mike?”
“I've come to kill you,” he said.
She doesn't sigh around him. As though there was no part of her that had grown tired and weary like his body had. He felt it when he breathed. He felt it when he ate. The weight of his aging skin and the chest that he claims is heartless. It still ached. He is tired. He is tired, and all he wants is to give into the place that existed behind the darkness of his eyelids, where neither suffering or joy existed. “Come to the wrong conclusion, I see.”
Kennyo unsheathed his hunting dagger. It was small and light. This kind of death was quick and impatient. “I will kill you, and then—”
“It's pointless to kill me then proceed to kill yourself. All we will be are two corpses in a forest.” Her sharp ice eyes softened and melted into water. “Why are you so convinced that things cannot be better?”
“Because they won't! It is not as if—I haven't tried,” Before he knew it, he was yelling. I am Kennyo. I am Kennyo, and I do not hurt others. “It is not as if—as if I gave up the first time. I tried to make it better.” He became a part of Nobunaga's army, loath as he was to admit it. He trained. He learned military strategy from Mitsunari and tried to save as many lives as he could when the war started. But he couldn't take being so close to death and not being able to do anything but hope. He has let go of too many hands that slipped out of his grasp, lifeless. “But nothing gets better, and I am tired.” He was sure he was crying by now. Like a child.
The snow woman was quiet, and he did not want to look into her eyes, so solid and cold like touching metal. He was sure there was no warmth there. “Of course it will be hopeless,” she said. “Of course I will try to kill you if you try to do the same to me. Of course the storm will come and you will not be able to do anything other than wait. But—” she paused, “what is wrong with hurting and healing and continuing onto the next day? You do not need to forgive anyone else except yourself for being alive.”
She approached him slowly, like one might approach a feral kitten. The truth of the metaphor wasn't lost on him. Her hand reached out and touched his shoulder. It was surprisingly warm, like the sunshine had melted away the layer of frost on her skin. “Go home, little calico. You will never find a place lonely enough to die in as long as the sun continues to rise and set.”
Dazedly, somehow Kennyo found himself at the boundary of forest and field, and when a little boy saw him, he yelled for the other villagers. They gathered around him, the lady that always made enough soup for him—Kumeko chided him for making them worry. Kennyo couldn't focus on their voices very well. All he remembered was that the clouds were white like her hair and her eyes were blue like the afternoon sky.
“I told you not to go into the forest again! Didn't you hear about the soldiers roaming around? They might've killed you if they found you!”
“I—” Kennyo started, but didn't know what he was about to say. “I'm—!”
I am Kennyo, and I am—
“Hungry,” he said stupidly.
She blinked in confusion, and for a moment there was silence as the villagers looked at each other, trying to find some sort of confirmation there. “It can't be helped then,” one woman said, straightening the flimsy cloth tied around her waist that passed as an apron. She grinned. “Guess we'll have to cook up a feast for you, hm?”
The other women nodded in agreement, and they smiled at each other, like knowing a secret only they knew. “It just so happens that Takemura caught some birds on his way back from the capital!”
Then another chimed in, “While we're at it, let's bust open some bottles of sake!”
Kennyo couldn't help the question that slipped past his lips. “...Why are you helping me?” Aren't they scared of the forest's curse? About the animal hunger? Am I not a monster?
“Helping? Well, I wouldn't say that. But if you're hungry, it's natural to eat, obviously. Plus, a good meal is important to having a good day!”
What is wrong with letting the animal of your body do what it must do to live on?
It was all a blur after that. Kennyo tried to help with the cooking, or the butchering, but they all shooed him away until night came and he was dragged to the communion table. Some of the men were singing folk songs about the moon, and their tone-deafness were not unwelcome.
“Eat up,” Chiyo said warmly, pushing the bowl of udon in front of him.
Kennyo tentatively spooned the broth into his mouth, and it was delicious. Maybe, he thought, Maybe this is what the forest curse would've been like. The forest of Kisara preyed on the weak-minded, luring them with the scent of good, hearty food and a longing that roped them into the heart of the woods.
He ate quietly under the watch of the village women, and when he finished, they asked him if he wanted seconds. They're wasting food on me. They didn't even question the reason he went into the forest. They simply took care of him when he returned, accepting him and his curse of hunger.
His curse of being alive.
Who was he? A monk. An older brother to the children. A little calico to the snow woman.
I am Kennyo, he thought, I am human.

Little Bits and Pieces of Heaven
ON OR OFF?
One-shot #: 21
Disclaimer: One Piece (and its characters) belongs to Eiichiro Oda-sensei.
Reminder: I have no beta-reader. Any grammatical and spelling errors are solely mine.
Warning: OOC possible. One shot.
Rating: T. NSFW. (Nothing explicit, but adult talks.)
Note: I pretty much wonder what topics these two have when they are drinking together. Then I heard the question and got an idea. So here it is. Plus, #6 prompt from the ♣ prompt collection.
And pending prompt requests are still on the works. I get stuck sometimes that's why I write breathers like this one as right now I'm not really happy with the plots that I've come up with or the drafts I've written. I want to enjoy writing it rather than for the just jotting down a story and posting it.
Also, I might close the request box before this month ends. So if you have any more requests just message me.
Summary: "Wow! How strong is this bourbon" anyway?
"Ok… so lights on or lights off?"
Nami smiled mischievously before downing the glass of two fingers worth of bourbon that was sitting on the counter in front of her. The golden brown liquid slid down her throat smoothly, leaving a burning yet delicious sensation. She set the glass down happily while savoring the spreading warmth on her cheeks.
The man beside her smirked, shaking his head at her question. Zoro then mirrored her action, knocking back his own drink in one gulp.
She waited a beat as he placed his glass back on the counter and reached out for the bottle they were sharing. He poured another round in his glass and surprisingly in hers as well.
She observed him for a moment, before nudging his leg with her own when he did not answer her question.
"So?" Nami prodded playfully.
Zoro raised an eyebrow at her. He seemed to be thinking for a moment. With a shrug he finally replied, "Off."
The navigator straightened up at that. “Really?” She shot him with a downright curious stare. "Why?"
The swordsman paused for a moment. "No need to bother with the details if it's just one time thing.” He explained casually. “It’s not like you're gonna see them again."
Nami's lips formed an exaggerated 'o' at his response. She knows how straightforward Zoro is. But damn! Even in bed he is all business?
Though to be honest, he kinda got a point somehow...
"So it's wham bam thank you maam for you?” She inquired not bothering to fight the puckish grin that wanted to appear on her lips.
Zoro laughed loudly at that before emulating her grin. "That's all I need. Nothing more.”
"Gosh Zoro that's just cold!"
He laughed again as her reaction entertained him.
"Leaving women behind just like that." Nami shook her head, feigning disappointment as her long, orange locks bounced around her from the movement. "You really are a brute."
“No use prolonging the interaction Nami," Zoro chuckled as he ran a hand through his hair. “It's not like I’m there to make love or something."
"Sanji-kun will have a fit when he hears you."
"So?" Nami chortled at his typical annoyed retort whenever their resident cook was brought up.
“I’m pretty sure you’d do the same… before robbing them blind of course.” He taunted.
“Excuse me! I’d never do it with the people I rob!” She frowned at him before reaching for her drink… her warm, brown eyes never leaving his. “If I rob them I just rob them,” she continued before tossing down her drink and sliding her glass towards him so he can fill it up again.
He quirked an eyebrow at her non-verbal demand.
She just answered him with a sassy smile. “Unless,” she whispered lowly. “They are hot stuff of course. Then… I might reconsider.”
Zoro studied her for a few seconds, before emptying his own drink and proceeding to refill their glasses. “Why are we even talking about this?” He asked, genuinely intrigued.
“Hmmm… I don’t know. But it seems to me you don’t mind having this conversation at all.”
He shrugged. They usually talk about a lot of random stuff when they are drinking—no holds barred. But they seldom venture towards... sex.
Though he wasn’t really surprised when Nami suddenly asked that question. She usually does it once in a while (this does not even compare to her other more outrageous and scandalous ones),  hoping to get some dirt on him that she can use for leverage.
“So how about you?”
He threw back the query at her, almost scoffing at the way her eyebrows disappeared behind her orange bangs as she looked startled. Apparently she did not expect him to return the honor.
“Me?”
“Yeah.”
Nami reached out for her drink with smile. “On of course. Since I’m kind of a sucker for visual stimulation.” She winked at him. “My eyes need to be pleased for me to be pleased as well. I have to see and admire the face and the body if I’m going to sleep with it.”
Zoro brought his own glass up if he was about to take a drink again but stopped, pondering about something. “Works for me if I like the girl.” He muttered indifferently, before swallowing the potent liquid down like it was nothing but water.
“Whoa! What?!” She had just grabbed her glass and yet she almost slammed it back down on the counter.
“You know what I mean.”
The orange-haired girl pursed her lips, thinking. Well she did somehow understand what he was implying. She nodded slowly. "You mean, like emotionally attached?” She emphasized the word.
When he didn’t bother to confirm her assumption, she snorted. “Like you’ll ever be!”
“Oi. Aren’t you quick to judge onna?” He retorted, a bit insulted.
“Wait, wait! You mean you are capable of actually fancying someone?!” Nami gasped, slapping a hand down on his thigh in excitement. “You actually have a crush on someone?!”
Zoro glared at her. Then at her hand.
But she was far too distracted by the revelation to pay his scathing look any mind.
He chose to just ignore her, pouring the remaining contents of the bottle to his glass. He should draw the line here and call it a night… before her teasing leads to a nasty fight between them that can last for days.
“Hey, hey,” Nami shifted closer to him; face stopping an inch from his own and nose almost touching his cheek.
He glanced sideways at her, as he brought the glass to his lips.
Her voice was low but fascinated as she murmured in his ear; her warm breath tickling and sending shivers down his spine. “You mean if you are able to hook up with a girl you actually like… like someone you are crushing on… you’ll leave the lights on?”
Zoro scrutinized her for a moment. Nami had a really, really interested expression on her face.
Looks like he had unwittingly given her something to use on him. Damn it!
Though he found himself nodding in answer. “Yeah…” he muttered.
“Really?”
“Nothing's gonna stop me from admiring every inch of her body... all night long.”
Nami looked dumb-founded, mouth gaping open as she regarded him. Honestly, she never thought Zoro would answer her question knowing how tight-lipped he is.
But for heaven’s sake that last statement of his…
…was fucking turning her on.
She quickly drew back away from him to settle back on her stool, trying to cover up the sudden surge of arousal with feigned amazement. “Wow! How strong is this bourbon anyway? It's making your tongue loose!” She managed to josh as he chugged down the remaining bourbon in his glass.
“You tell me. You’re the one who started asking weird questions.”
"Let me try it again. Spill some more beans come on!”
“No.”
She pouted. “You’re no fun.” She looked like she was about to go into one of her famous fits when she suddenly laughed. Looking slyly at him, she snickered. “So light’s off huh? Then smash and dash, just like that?"
Zoro chuckled. “You make me sound so bad.”
She propped an arm on the counter and rested her chin on her hand, grinning like a Cheshire cat as she studied him. "Remind me never to sleep with you." She added in a wry tone as he burst out laughing again.
“Really now? Then you don’t know what you’re missing.”
It was her turn to explode with laughter, almost falling down from the bar stool if Zoro didn’t have half the mind to grab her arm and pull her towards him.
“I don’t think we will meet in the middle somehow…” Nami was still giggling so hard, even as she was almost draped on his lap. Slowly she righted herself up, lifting her head to give him a cheeky smile.
“Right.” Zoro made a tsk-ing sound. Though the smirk on his face betrayed the supposedly annoyed sound.
“Poor girls though,” she sing-songed.
Zoro merely fixed her with an inquisitive gaze.
“They'll never get to feast their eyes on you in all your naked glory with the lights off,” she teased him with an impish grin. “Damn, if that was me—”
“If it’s you, I’d leave the lights on Nami,” Zoro cut her off.
With that, he smoothly slid out of the bar stool and stood in front of her.
“Your face is heating up, is it something I said?” He remarked in a tone that was smug yet the smirk on his face was devilishly suggestive.
His lone grey eye raked over her body as her own grew as wide as saucers.
Then he turned away and sauntered towards where their nakama were still feasting.
And just like that he left her alone… with her words stuck inside her throat, her mind in a jumble as the heat that swiftly engulfed her face went spiraling down her body igniting every single nerve and setting her insides on fire when the realization of what he said finally struck her.
Her eyes settled on her still not finished drink. She swiftly grabbed it and guzzled it down, hoping the strong liquor might help bring her back to her senses.
Fuck!

I was literally just thinking of what new thing I should fantasize in my head about, and that's when my dad called me to say good night. As like everyone in my family says, "Goodnight, love you" or something along the lines and gives each other a hug. So the Mc really missing the same practices her parents used to do, as she had an affectionate family. While also being too afraid to ask anyone about it, especially Nobunaga.
Ikesen Scenarios~ Goodnight Hugs
And here she found herself in the meeting room, yet again being dragged from the comfort of her bed and bearsace. Agriculture was a very important part of Azuchi's economic structure and was thought to produce some of the ripest crops around. Though along with that, to have the ability to cultivate the land, the farmers had to acquire the right materials and skillfully use them. The Oda had just received fertile land a little to the east, so this meeting was mainly about transporting supplies there and investing the money for the supplies. Though she didn't recall much that she learned in school on Japanese history, she found this sorta thing a bit interesting. Obviously, it's different reading it from a textbook you've been staring at for hours, then actually experiencing and observing farmers. Watching them plow fields instead of using huge machines that pollute the Earth, like they do in the future. She hadn't seen anything beyond Azuchi's bustling shopping area, aside from the woods and Honno-Ji. So it'd be nice to see more of ancient Japan. She was still very sleepy, and blah blah money, blah leader accounting financial stuff. And you could occasionally see the drool falling from her mouth, as she dozed off. Though she did brighten up when they began decided who would deliver the supplies. Which ended up being Masamune, as he was 'itching to get out and cause some mischief somewhere else' resulting in a whack from Hideyoshi. Besides that he glanced over at her with his signature cheeky grin, "Would you like to accompany me, Lass?" Now that wasn't an offer she could just refuse, again, a bit of adventure couldn't hurt. She wondered how different their lives were compared to Azuchi. "Well, that would be lovely, only if I'm not a burden." Which she could see the unmistakable glint of mischief in his eyes, and knew there was more than just and invite to deliver materials. For all she knows, that look could mean he's gonna set a tree on fire and tie her to it. Maybe throw a dagger at her while he's at it, so this was going to be some journey.
In a commanding tone, Nobunaga officially dismissed them all, though everyone lingered and chatted comfortably. Now that it was over, she couldn't stop herself from imagining the toasty feeling of her bed 'soon my love'. It didn't ease the thoughts that have been pestering her recently though, they were thoughts about her family, ones she missed dearly. She recalled when her father would knock on her door to tell her goodnight and give her a hug. Her loved ones always hugged and wished everyone a 'goodnight, love you', as she grew up in a very affectionate family. So, you could say that she was feeling quite 'touch starved', not in a thirsty way, but a pure one. All the warlords gathered in that very room, we're playing the roles of her Sengoku family, and she loved them all very much. But she missed her old family habits, she was even affectionate towards her friends and loved hugs. So even after being there for a month, it was difficult not to reminisce on her past (or now, future). She didn't notice that she had zoned out in deep thought, her gaze landing right beside Nobu's head. He silently scrutinized her, it seemed as though she wanted something.
"Is there something you need, Emi? You've been staring at me for the past few minutes now." Now she was alert, and apologized sheepishly. "I-im very sorry, I was just thinking about something. And was wondering......um.." Mitsuhide's attention was drawn to the flustered girl before Nobunaga and chuckled a bit 'what could she be on about now?' She tried to begin again, shakily, " uh.... Well, umm.. You see... I" He raised his eyebrow as if to say, 'if you're gonna say something then get on with it' She just started at his desolate frosty eyes, with lack of warmth. Asking him for affection may not be the best, maybe Mitsunari would be easier to ask? "Actually, uh.. I think I'll just go ask Mitsunari, instead.." Emi began to think away from the lord. 'What does Mitsunari have that I don't?' Is what went through his brain as he waited to see what would happen if she asked the sweetheart of their group.
With a blush still dusting her cheeks, she reached a hand and tapped on Nari's shoulder, who turned around with a welcoming smile. "Lady, Emi!!" She giggled at his innocent reaction, her conversations with him were a bit flowier. Yet again she became a little shy, but the friendliness radiating off of the sweet angel gave her the courage to continue. "Mitsunari, .......? Could you give me a hug??" He titled his head for a moment then spoke, "A..........hug?..Well, of course Lady, Emi!" He then embraced her tenderly, what a fricken cinnamon roooooooooooooolllllll.
"Is it comfort that you seek? Because I can't give that to you." Nobu said as monotone as ever, Nari's enthusiasm had drawn all eyes and ears. "So you just wanted to ask for an embrace, then?" She bowed her head a bit towards him and spoke what was bothering her. "Well, yes, but that's not everything. You see I was just missing my family, and we had a practice where before bed we all gave each other hugs and said that we loved each other. And whenever we did that... I got a warm feeling in my chest, it always helped me sleep." They all noticed the wistful look in her eyes, it was difficult to ignore the way her heart ached, a pleading for intimacy. It was a pretty lonely feeling. No one wanted to feel that way, and I guess the loneliness she felt could be understood by the lot. She couldn't see her family for at least two months around 61 days, it was a bit heartbreaking. She did have Sasuke and Bearsace other than the six there, but Sasuke was quiet busy doing Ninja stuff, and Bearsace isn't a person. She even tried expressing her emotion and passion in her sewing, but things like that were just momentary distractions from her inevitable feelings. Even though she was in a bit of a vulnerable state, Mitsuhide being the tease he is decided that this is perfect bait, and he couldn't just let this chance slip by, could he? He chuckled softly, and his eyes sparkled with amusement.
"So, if what my ears are hearing is correct, you want us to express our love for you and embrace you warmly as though you were our wives?" Emi immediately flushed, I guess in this time that would be something only lovers would do. "N-no, of course not, I just want a hug, as you guys are the closest thing to family I have here, " The unmistakable tear in her voice pierced the hearts of even the coldest warlords in the room. Her hair covered her eyes as she bowed down, she had said her family was so far you couldn't point it out on a map, but they were in different TIME PERIODS. But, she couldn't cry, a show of weakness like this one could cost her too many precious things in the Sengoku period. Her actions even made Mitsuhide loss his composure for just a moment, only a second though.
Hideyoshi frowned and looked seriously towards his vassal. "Mitsunari, " "My Lord, should we........?" "I believe it's time..." Mitsunari nodded in understanding. Ieyasu's face turned to one of dread, of pure horror. Mitsuhide raised a singular eyebrow, as Masamune grinned, Nobu remained stoic, though you could see the shine in his cold eyes.
Ieyasu quickly protested, "No........... You must be kidding me, no way. Nuh uh. I refuse to participate in that, not again." She looked up concerned, what could possibly be so awful to have Ieyasu practically running in the opposite direction. Well, actually there are lots of things, having to interact with Mitsunari, acknowledging his emotions, another one of Hideyoshi's lectures, the list just goes on. This time Nobunaga stepped in to assist, "Ieyasu, " He gave a stern unwavering look, "Do you dare.... Betray the Oda by defending the victim due to your lack of being able to process physical--" "Ugh, please stop. Fine. But if you ever speak of this again, you won't wake up the next morning." This caused Mitsunari to break out in a sweet smile.
After their interaction, each one, with Ieyasu a bit more hesitant than the others, began to surround the poor girl trapped in the middle. Even Nobunaga had arose from his dias. They slowly began tightening around her, closing in on their one and only target. 'Victim?! What we're they going to do to her?! Did her declaration define her as too weak?!' Suddenly, they all slowed to a stop, a calm before the storm, a glance passed around the circle, resulting in Emi's pulse to quicken to the pace of lightening. At last, the look ended at Hideyoshi, who gave the final nodding signal.
"GROUP HUG!!!" Rang around the room as the warlords pounced on her, squishing her tight in the middle. She opened her eyes only to see a cluster of the six samurai clutching onto her in a warm embrace. Correction, actually, five samurai, as Ieyasu lingered and watched. Masamune was the first to notice, "Come on Ieyasu, wouldn't it be nice to get in on the action?! Don't be such a sourpuss!" Ieyasu scoffed at his comment, though it did look comfy, and comforting. "Oh, Ieyasu-sama, why don't you come join us?! You'd surely enjoy it!" Mitsunari called to him, that sealed the deal, despite his snide comments towards Nari, he had a bit of a soft spot for the boy. Ieyasu sighed one last time, closed his eyes and walked towards the group. Ending up squished next to the very same angel, their cheeks almost touching.
After a few moments, they backed off only to uncover a beaming Emi. She actually thought they were going to like attack her or something, her heart felt so warm, she felt like poppers we're going off in her chest. In all her excitement she went around the room and hugged each one individually. Ieyasu didn't even deny her this time, her hug with Nobunaga was a bit odd, but still made her feel fuzzy and loved.
"Hey, why does Mitsunari get two hugs?" Masamune asked, "What if I wanted another one?" She smiled brightly again and began moving in for another hug, she never took Masamune as the overly affectionate type. At the last second, she realized his cheeky tactics. "You flirt?!" There was still this feeling on her heart, as they laughed away his attempts. And each said their good night's before the sweet girl skipped out of the council room. A satisfied look on her face. Nobunaga rested his cheek on his palm as he watched her go. Shortly after they heard the crash and concerned apology from their princess.
"What an unusual woman........."
Sasuke's whole face was beet red as he watched the whole situation play out. He could most definitely say he was jealous of the woman, +15 Jealousy gained! Fanboi mode activated! If there was ever a time he wanted to fall through the ceiling tiles, it was then, how lovely it would have been to join the group hug.
"Wow, who knew the Oda were such softies....." Whispered a soft voice behind him, he jumped a bit and had to adjust himself as to not actually fall through the ceiling. "Yuki?!" He had forgotten he brought his BFF along, his fanboi had placed him in his own little world.
Needless to say, she slept very soundly and happily that night..
_____________________________________________
I SWEAR, GET THE HISTORY BOI HIS VERY OWN PERSONAL GROUP HUG! Anyways, but just imagine this scenario, it's like so adorable. Also, Ieyasu had learned what that look meant the hard way, as he hadn't seen Wasabi for a few days and he was a little saddened by that fact, despite claiming Wasabi could run away anytime and he wouldn't care. As Mitsuhide could practically pick up anything, like the sneaky snake he is. It started with a whisper from Mitsuhide to a gasp from Hideyoshi, and with a look from his vassal, he was actually like AMBUSHED and HARASSED with hugs. It did make him feel better, though he'd never admit it lol.
Ieyasu and Mitsunari make such a cute pair don't ya think 😊 (whether platonic or not). Also I realize I forgot to include Ranmaru.. Forgive me for that...

Ikemen Sengoku (Japan): Kennyo’s Kind Sermons
This is a campaign running on the JP server for the release of Kennyo’s route
1. Nobunaga and Mitsuhide
For some reason, Kennyo, Nobunaga, and Mitsuhide are sitting face to face in the restaurant they separately walk in by chance.
Kennyo: Mitsuhide, what are you doing?
Mitsuhide: Isn’t it more effective to put the food all together in the bowl and eat it
Kennyo: ...... Don’t treat food so carelessly
Nobunaga: Is the demon trying to be a nice person now? It is for sure more effective, if taste is not taken into consideration
Kennyo: That you have no appreciation for sure makes you the bunch of the devil king
Nobunaga: Hah, that’s quite some barking
They continue to stare at each other as time slowly goes. Just as they think the fight is about to begin......
Puppy: woof woof!
Kennyo & Nobunaga: ......!
A puppy is staring at the inside of the store from outside
Child: Taro, where are you? It’s time for food, come here!
Mitsuhide: I see. Seems like it is attracted by the smell
Tumblr media
Kennyo: ...... Fine. I will go tell the owner where the dog is. Anyway, don’t eat food in such a coarse way. Well, it wouldn’t be bad if you guys are killed as the punishment for that
Nobunaga: Seems like he will find faults in us whenever he sees us
Mitsuhide: Instead of faults, it is possible...... that he is a worrying person no less than Hideyoshi
2. Motonari and Yoshimoto
Yoshimoto: Huh, this is quite a rare combination
Motonari: What a carefree guy. Let me make it clear, your “rare combination” also includes yourself in it
Kennyo: This situation, what even is this
The place the three of them bump into each other, is an open shop in some town
Yoshimoto: I heard that there are some good wares
Motonari: I heard there are rumors that can spark a war
Kennyo: What are you saying?
Looking at Kennyo turning serious, Motonari smiles maliciously from the bottom of his heart
Motonari: Come on I am just joking. Don’t take it seriously. I am just here to take care of something that may be useful for business negotiation
Tumblr media
Kennyo: If you want to get something good, maybe you should first do something about the light-hearted way you talk, Mori Motonari
Motonari: Thanks for that kind teaching
Yoshimoto: Didn’t you just get criticized for your light-hearted way of talking? Well, as long as I can see good wares, I am not going to interfere with you guys
Tumblr media
Kennyo: You should also have some control over your craze for art
Yoshimoto: OK, I will take that to heart
Kennyo: ...... You guys aren’t listening to me at all, aren’t you?
Motonari: So you DO know
Yoshimoto: Sorry
3. Hideyoshi and Mitsunari
Mitsunari: The person over there, don’t move
Hideyoshi: The snake keeps seeking Nobunaga’s life. Accept it and go into the prison
Kennyo: I am not going to make it that easy
A ghastly smile appears on Kennyo’s face, twisting the scar on his face. Just then, as he is about to pull out the knife from his staff......
Town Girl 1: Ah, found him! That’s Hideyoshi!
Town Girl 2: Mitsunari is also here!
Hideyoshi & Mitsunari: !?
Kennyo: What?
Just as they stare at each other, they are surrounded by the girls
Hideyoshi: Why are you guys here
Town Girl 1: We saw you two and came after
Town Girl 3: Come on Hideyoshi. You haven’t sent us any letter
Hideyoshi: Ah, I am a bit busy. Sorry
Town Girl 4: Mistunari, what do you like to eat? I can make it next time
Mitsunari: Me? I like dried rice because it is convenient......
Tumblr media
Kennyo: Even the vassals of the devil king is spoiled by women. What complete womanizers. Have some self-respect
Mitsunari: Self-respect? What is that about?
Hideyoshi: You are not really self-conscious about that......
Kennyo: I am not going to be here any longer
Hideyoshi: Wait! You are not getting away
Kennyo: It was you who was not paying attention. Next time we meet I am going to send you all to hell with Nobunaga
4. Kenshin and Sasuke
On the main thoroughfare of some town, Kenshin and Sasuke are walking quickly.
Sasuke: The liquor is not going to run away even if we don’t hurry
Kenshin: No, it will. As we are talking, some rude person may get in our way and carry the liquor away...... That is!
The person walking out of the brewery has a luxurious box painted in black lacquer in his hand
Kenshin: That liquor, wait!
Kennyo: Huh?
Sasuke: Kennyo?
Kenshin: That box...... It has to be it. It has the rare high-quality liquor inside it, right? Put it down, and you can leave
Sasuke: Kenshin, I think doing that will be too unreasonable
Tumblr media
Kennyo: Indeed. The dragon of Echigo has fallen to do things only thieves would do. I heard that you like liquor, but because of that, I am not giving it over to you
Kenshin: What did you just say?
Sasuke: That...... Is it because you worry about Kenshin’s health?
Kennyo: Don’t take it the wrong way. If this fight-crazed person gets drunk and goes berserk, it will cause people here trouble. Bye
With the box in his hand, Kennyo briskly walks away
Kenshin: ...... Bloody monk. I don’t even feel like going after him
Sasuke: But I think this is a good chance for you to cut back on liquor. I appreciate Kennyo’s hidden kindness
5. Shingen and Yukimura
Yukimura: What is that
As they are walking in Kasugayama, Shingen and Yukimura saw a mysterious crowd at the outskirt of the town.
Town Resident: I will take what you said to heart
Shingen: Hmm? This, can it be......
Kennyo: It’s you two
Shingen: I knew it
Yukimura: Kennyo!? What are you doing here
Kennyo: Just listening to what the old man says
Yukimura: But, that shouldn’t gather so many people
Shingen: Did you maybe give some good advice?
Kennyo: ...... It’s because he looks troubled. I don’t know if you’d call it good
Shingen: Since it’s the right time, can you give us some advice?
Kennyo: You guys don’t really seem troubled
Shingen: Come on, don’t be so stiff
Kennyo: ............ Don’t eat too much sweet
Shingen: That is some cold saying as always
Kennyo: You asked me to say something, so don’t complain
Shingen: I am not complaining, that’s just my feedback. Teach Yukimura something next
Tumblr media
Kennyo: ...... Pay some attention to what you say. It may cause misunderstandings
Yukimura: O, OK. It sounds weirdly persuasive......
Shingen: That is why he is the monk
Kennyo: My words are just an unimportant lie, don’t take it too seriously
6. Masamune and Ieyasu
Masamune and Ieyasu are going on a route overgrown with trees on horses.
Ieyasu: Is it really this way?
Masamune: Yep yep. It will be Azuchi once we are through the forest
Ieyasu: Even that, we don’t have to pick this route of the beast......
Masamune: The route we were going to use is covered in a landslide. We don’t have any choice
Ieyasu: You are not wrong...... Ah
Masamune: A branching route, huh
Ieyasu: ............
Masamune: ............
Masamune: Right
Kennyo: It’s left
Ieyasu: !......
Masamune: Kennyo, you appear in an interesting place. Do you plan to hide your presence and get close to us, and attack us when we are not careful?
Tumblr media
Kennyo: Two to one is a bad ratio. I am not going to start a stupid fight. Also, Date Masamune, even though you have a sharp sense, don’t be overconfident. It’s the cliff if you go right
Ieyasu: Heh?
Masamune: Heh, I thought you are no longer a monk at all, but surprisingly, you still have some compassion left
Kennyo: ...... Don’t say such silly things. I just do it on a whim
Ieyasu: What are you planning? We could come back with more force later
Kennyo: If I let you guys leave, I don’t think you will do that (i.e. come back)
Ieyasu: Heh, that’s a lot of confidence
Masamune: As you wish. We will be your opponent when the time comes
7. Ranmaru
Ranmaru: There is no conspicuous action in the Oda force recently
Kennyo: I see
Ranmaru: Then...... I should go back soon
Kennyo: Sure
As Ranmaru turns around with a smile on his face, Kennyo suddenly spoke to him.
Tumblr media
Kennyo: Ranmaru, when you are feeling bad, it’s okay to not force yourself to smile
Ranmaru: !......
Kennyo: Forgive me for making you go through all of these
Hearing the kind voice, Ranmaru clenches his hands tightly, and then......
Ranmaru: Thank you very much. Can I say one more thing?
Kennyo: Sure, what?
Ranmaru: Kennyo, please be more and more kind, to yourself
Kennyo: ............
Ranmaru: Even though I am not forcing myself to smile now, but if Kennyo you can do that to yourself, I will smile even more
Kennyo: ...... I see. Even though it is difficult immediately, but when my sad wish comes true, I will listen to your helpful advice
Ranmaru: ............ OK. I, will wait for that time!
Even though he may have noticed Ranmaru’s smile with sadness, Kennyo doesn’t say anything again and just nods......

DESPERADO - PURGATORIO
Tumblr media
SYPNOSIS:  she, a dancer with personified problems all the while more that intrigues osamu dazai who came into her life amidst the chaos that is [name] [last name].
WARNING/S: implied nsfw
three - four
Tumblr media
dinner was .. entertaining, more or less. but it seemed such a drag to [name].
she hated dazai. she hated letting someone else pay for her. she hated how her younger brother liked him easily out of all people.
though, dazai with any means, isn't good with children. even with yumeno basically flooding him with questions he could easily answer, yet the questions itself were too .. peculiar.
"osa-chan, how did you meet onee-chan?"
"have you two known each other before? onee-chan, why didn't you tell me!-"
"yumeno, no i don't. he's just..an acquaintance from work." [name]'s eye twitched from the sentence that left her mouth.
"hmm," yumeno picked on his cake tart before taking a bite. "whyth ish thathf soth?" his question came out muffled.
"don't talk when your mouth is full, yumeno."
the boy only groaned and nodded before swallowing his food and asking his question more properly. "why is that so? onee-chan and osa-chan seem close.."
[name] scoffed while dazai only chuckled. "mhm, we do seem very close don't we, [name]?"
"don't even consider it."
"oh dear, i dream of it."
"you're gross."
"you're pretty."
"please," [name] rolled her eyes. "flattery won't get you anywhere."
"but i am trying," dazai grinned teasingly referring to what she does for a living. [name] stared at him with disgust, slapping his arm which she only received a stuck out tongue in return. yumeno looked between the two confused.
"onee-chan, what does osa-chan mean by that?"
dazai looked at yumeno with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "well you see yumeno-kun, your osa-chan wants to court your onee-chan, but she rejects me every time!" he dramatically lifted an arm to his forehead.
"dazai.." [name] spoke his name in an irritated tone, wanting to pummel the male six feet to the ground already.
"oh really?" yumeno's lips curved a cheshire grin, tarted with cake crumbs. "do you think she'll accept one day?"
"i hope so," dazai sighed dreamily. "i await for the day i'll get the chance to spoil her rotten."
"don't get your hopes too high," [name] interjected. "what even makes you think i'll ever like you? you're a jerk."
dazai waved her off. "you'll see, mon cherie."
"what's with the nicknames?"
"simply because you are one of a kind."
"har-har, i'm flattered," the woman replies with gritted teeth.
"onee-chan! what are you having anyway? you're not gonna eat?" yumeno interrupted upon seeing the woman only drinking her cold beverage.
"no, i'm not hungry."
"but you should eat!"
"yumeno, no--"
"listen to him [name]~" dazai crooned. "you really should eat. yumeno-kun, what do you want your onee-chan to have?"
"cake tarts!" yumeno cheered.
"big sister can't eat cake tarts, she'll get fat," [name] said, taking a sip of her [f.d.].
"eh? onee-chan, fat?" yumeno blinked. "but onee-chan, you don't care if you eat too much or get fat don't you? isn't that what you said when you ate a big chunk of-"
"ahaha, yumeno that's enough of you," [name] nervously laughed as she covered yumeno's mouth with her hand to stop him from embarassing her any further.
dazai chuckled at the sight. "you worry if you get fat?"
"shut up and no i don't," she denied.
"how cute."
"why are you even here?" the woman groaned.
"because yumeno-kun invited me for dinner." [name] scoffed.
"then can you leave if i ask you to?"
"yes."
"then why won't you leave?"
"because i was invited and it would be rude to come here and then leave so sudden," dazai answered, crossing his arms. "besides, i am hungry."
"you're such an idiot," she huffed.
"why, thank you."
"that was not a compliment."
"if it comes from you, then it is," dazai winked. a vein popped out of said woman's forehead.
"you're really annoying, you know that?"
"countless of times, yes."
[name] only groaned once more for she had to endure this for the entire evening
.
---
"i'm not your personal favorite, so why did you ask for me?" akutagawa asked dazai slightly confused but amused at the situation. dazai only responded with a light groan before slumping on the leather chair. "my little kitten is a bit off-put at the moment," he pouted. "i don't really favor anyone else here."
"chuuya-san is here you know." akutagawa says in a questioning tone but it sounded more like a statement.
"yeah, but that good for nothing hat rack simply isn't enough to please me. plus we hate each other." akutagawa scoffed. "you should see how much money he makes in a day."
"ah, but i think you provide much better service than him," dazai grinned at akutagawa teasingly, in which the latter huffed at this action. "[name] and chuuya-san may come off as rude to their clients, but believe me when i say they're good at what they do."
dazai exhaled through his nose as akutagawa sat on his lap, running his hands through his brown locks of hair. he came back to the strip club to meet his belladonna for a night out alone. as usual, chuuya was there to bash on him and to insult the male. before leaving, chuuya informed dazai that [name] did not go to work today; something about calling in sick but dazai went on in and called for akutagawa instead. he was conflicted about coming to the strip club but he could not refused for had oda didn't invite him, he wouldn't even be there in the first place.
how oda was able to put up with dazai's perspective of things was honestly impressive since it was no secret that dazai enjoyed oda's view of things since he was less systematic than dazai. he'd often accompany dazai with whatever he had up his sleeve but it's not really safe to say that his plans never had excellent result. its dazai after all.
things went downhill once he got back to his office after having dinner with [name] and yumeno. higuchi had been waiting for dazai to get back to report terrible news that their sales are going down and a few people -- to be more specific, con artists had been scamming people with their products that they previously sold at auctions and it made people believe that the corporation were only after their money and sold fake items in their past auctions.
dazai had been stressed over by his colleagues and needed to cool off, though thinking of ways to somehow restore the mafia's reputation and to get rid of the people who were dumb enough to even try and bring down the mafia.
"think you can handle it?"
"psh, you called for me of all people," akutagawa rolled his eyes before placing a chaste kiss on dazai's head. "but i promise to make you feel good."
still, it was weird to see [name] -- even akutagawa stri- dance for him. he'd even expect it to himself that he'd be denied of his desires, but it was still given to him with little difficulty. he was a mess inside.
"you know, it's not like you to switch out on dancers."
"needed a change," dazai mumbled. "is that a problem?"
akutagawa pursed his lips. "not really, it's just that when i used to be your regular, you wouldn't let anyone touch me," he placed a hand on dazai's broad shoulders. "you were possessive."
"that was back then." dazai growled lowly.
akutagawa hummed. "what's on your mind?"
"nothing that i'd like to speak about." akutagawa sighed heavily. "i'd press on you to tell me, but you've always been stubborn." it was a trait he and [name] both shared.
"always have, always will." dazai stated with a close eyed smile.
"..right since this isn't a therapy session." akutagawa deadpans. dazai placed both his hands on akutagawa's thighs and hips, knowing he had permission to.
"i trust that you'll get rid of all my stress away?"
"like i said before, i promise i'll make you feel good."
---
oda patiently waited for dazai, knowing he always takes longer on his time -- specially if it's with akutagawa. he knows he never really keeps his meetings 'formal' with the younger male. dazai stumbled out of the black curtains looking very much disheveled then he was when he entered the strip club, his neck tie missing and a few bruise marks were on his neck. they were small, but visible enough. a sly grin was on his face which reminded oda of a cat.
"had fun?" oda downed on his third shot of vodka.
"you bet i did," dazai snickered as he stumbled to the stool next to oda. "can i have some of that special sake you keep at your place? you know how much i love those."
"sure. when you're much more sober that is," oda shook his head. "you probably had akutagawa hit you up with heavy shit."
"oh, come onn!! it was only a little~!" dazai slurred, throwing a hand over oda's shoulders. "it's not like i got overly high again!"
"tell me that again once you're actually sober would you? this is why i always give akutagawa head warnings." he removed dazai's hand from his shoulders, making the brunette whine and slump on the counter top. oda held a hand against his temple and massaged it, muttering things about dazai not listening to him again of the sorts.
"come on odasakuu! not even a little bit?" dazai pouted as he turned his head sideways from the counter to face oda.
"no."
"please?? i swear i'll only get one shot!" dazai insisted, shaking oda's left arm. oda groaned before reluctantly agreeing to dazai's request. ".. fine, but don't blame me if you can't get home."
"relax! i can take care of myself just fine."
"i'll message my assistant then," oda huffed, taking out his phone and texted his assistant to bring a bottle of sake to his office later. dazai hummed, twirling his index finger on oda's glass of tequila.
"he's still around?"
"you bet." oda tapped away one his phone. after a few seconds, he slipped it back into his pocket and turned to dazai. "chuuya told me you didn't visit your favorite?"
"she would not appreciate seeing me here," mumbled dazai. "plus she didn't even go to work today."
oda let out a soft chuckle. "you think she ever did? that girl hates your guts."
"it gets worse," dazai groaned, standing up from his seat and heading towards the exit. "i'll tell you later at my office."
"still want to keep on leaving people hanging?"
"i'm just a poor man, odasaku."
"please, you just got laid and run a company. you're basically the definition of spoiled."
".. quiet you."
---
oda poured a minimum amount of sake on dazai's glass, who accepted it with glee. he downed on it and sighed in content. "you keep the best stuff, odasaku. why don't you ever give me some?"
"wouldn't want the risk of a suicidal man holding a bottle of sake running around the building naked .." oda muttered, taking a seat on one of dazai's office couches.
"hey! i do not get that tipsy! i'll have you know that i hold my liquor very well." dazai boasted, holding a hand to his chest.
"sure," oda leaned onto the coffee table, placing his chin on his interwined fingers. "anyways, humour me already with what you were supposed to tell me."
"well, i ran into [name] into the mall yesterday with this kid--"
"she has kids?!"
"jesus odasaku, no!" dazai exclaimed. "it's just her little brother.. i think.." dazai said lowly.
"god, dazai," oda huffed. "you're such an idiot."
"why are so many people calling me an idiot??" dazai sulked.
"because you are one," oda shook his head, sighing. "do they have any caretakers?"
"no. [name]'s the one taking care of her little brother."
"what did you do this time?"
"i just ran into her in the mall since i was hurrying to our business meeting, but her little brother ran into me and asked between two things he wanted to buy. [name] didn't want me to talk to him but he asked me a question and i gave him an answer. i also insisted that i pay for yumeno's sweets instead and later then he invited me for dinner and i made [name] eat. i basically paid for her entire day." dazai explains.
oda sunked even further into the cushioned couch. "you really are an idiot .." he muttered, shaking his head. "first of all, you pay her ridiculous amounts of money just for her body -- which, in her eyes, is already degrading on it's own -- and now you pay for her too?"
"i don't get what's the problem here," dazai mumbled. "i have the money, she needs the money. it can work."
"no, dazai. it doesn't work that way." oda scratched the back of head, thinking of a way to explain the situation thoroughly. "think of it this way; [name] and yumeno were abandoned by their parents at a young age for whatever reason and that left [name] to raise her little brother by herself. she struggles with financial problems as she had no one to support her and her little brother."
"and what you're meaning to say is?"
"she dislikes the fact that you figured out the limbing situation she is in. and possibly only giving her more money out of sympathy. she doesn't want to connect her home life to her job."
"but i'm helping her, aren't i?" dazai grumbled, frustration slowly building up.
"in her case, she feels as if you're intruding," oda frowned. "it really is none of your business to be sticking your nose around what she does in her personal life and her connections with people." oda poured a small amount of sake on his glass and took a quick gulp.
"you really think that's why?"
"hey, i'm not entirely sure. it's just an analysis i have figured from what you've told me." he shrugged.
"then why won't she take me?" dazai pouts. "i have the money that she needs to live the life she wants for her and her brother. it seems too easy."
"that's probably just from her nature," oda chuckles. "now, about that plan to rebuild our reputation and to get rid of the con artists ..”

Online Relationships
I know it took me a long time to finish this fic, but I hope you’ll still give it a try. I originally planned it to be longer. I had to delete several scenes since it does not match, maybe I’ll use it in my future fics.
Please enjoy the final chapter and let me know your thoughts.
“Personalities and relationships tend to differ offline. “
(Part 1) I (Part 2) I (Part 3)
Title: Online Relationships- Part 4
Pairing:Trafalgar Law X Nami
Genre: Romance / AU
Rating: T
Word Count: 1734
Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece, they rightfully belong to Oda Eiichiro.
Helen of Troy launched a thousand ships because of her beauty. It was not her fault that she became the cause of a ten-year war. It was the Fates who were weaving her destiny. Nami liked the epics The Iliad and The Odyssey, which tells the story of Helen. She read the books all over again every time she finds time to do so. She loved how the story tells that we are rational beings and it is our actions that makes our fate. Helen chose to love and that love became the downfall of a lot of people. Nami, on the other hand chose, to leave a comment on Law's post. She never thought it would end up like this.
16 love reactions. 5 likes. 25 comment replies.
Luffy D. Monkey: Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Franky, Ussop, Chopper, Brook, Vivi and Shiraoishi. Look! Nami, we demand an explanation! Since when did you and Torao became too close?
'Ugh, why did Luffy have to be the first one to see this? He even tagged all our closest friends.' Nami thought in despair.
Sanji Vinsmoke: Is the shitty doctor your boyfriend, Nami-swan? T^T
Zoro Roronoa: Witch, I told you to behave. Law, better take care of her.
Nico Robin: My, my, I never knew that he stole your heart, Nami.
Chopper: So it was Law that Nami likes?
It was not only her friends that reacted and commented. Even Law's friends did.
Shachi: Captain! She commented. Hurray!
Penguin: Yay! Our captain is on his spring time.
Bepo: Sorry for not noticing it earlier. I'm rooting for the two of you. May your relationship be strong. Aye!
X-Drake: Hmm..
There are a lot of people who reacted which she did not know personally, but were mutual friends with Law in Facegram. At this point in time, she regretted what she did. It would be a big deal for his and her friends. She even read a comment conversation between Penguin and Luffy saying they should team up to match the two of them. What is done is done, so she decided just to meet up with her friends in Baratie's Food Joint. Luffy said that Robin and Franky will be joining them since they have no work for today.
Her friends have already placed their own orders when she came to their table. She ordered her favorite tangerine smoothie and the lunch special from the counter. Luckily for Nami, Law and his friends were seated far from their table. She is too ashamed to look at them, but her curiosity urged her to take a glimpse on his table. Even with the crowd their eyes always find each other. His lip draw into a smirk, then he waved at her. She smiled and waved back while her cheeks is slightly blushing. It felt like it was just the two of them in the food joint full of people. But they are not. Both their group of friends is observing the two of them.
Luffy, Chopper and Ussop was laughing out loud when they saw Nami coming back to their table.
"Why are you laughing?" Nami questioned. The trio continued to laugh till Ussop decided to answer her.
"Law sudden used his bag to hide his face after you smiled at him. He was so red."
"Eh? I don't believe you. We both know you're a liar." Nami taunts her friend.
“Shishi.Torao! Look over here. Nami wants to see your face" Luffy shouted. Nami hurriedly punched Luffy to silence him.
She subtly glanced and saw Law's friends looking at her while pointing at Law, who is burying his face on the bag. His friends was laughing and teasing him. He is obviously pretending to be sleeping, she knew he wasn't someone who can sleep in any place. She found this scene cute and she happily ate her lunch with her friends.

Marine duties in the town vary depending on which branch you are assigned. Being a Rear Admiral, Drake doesn’t have much to do than waiting for a new mission for him. He often uses his time off visiting museums to see dinosaur artifacts or collaborate with universities for dinosaur researches as a hobby. Today was he was supposed to meet Corazon, Law’s foster father, to fetch a package for his father. However, the old man called that he will be sending over his son because he has urgent matters to deal with his brother.
He knew the whole time him and Law would be together would be spent with them pissing off one another. That nerd really makes him tick. Just thinking that they would be meeting up in a few minutes made him exhausted.
While strolling in the park, he saw a familiar red head who was leisurely walking.
“This would be interesting.” He thought. He heard that Law tend to be quiet when she’s around.
“Nami!” He called out.
“Oh! Hey Drake. It’s been a long time since I last saw you. What’s up?”
“Nothing new really. I’m supposed to meet up with Law in Buggy’s Steak House for lunch. Join us.” He invited.
“It is your treat? You know I like free things.” The younger girl beamed.
“Of course, and you’ll get a bonus of seeing Law.” He teased.
“I see him almost every day in the campus or at Baratie. He should be the one getting a bonus of seeing a cute girl like me on weekends.”
“You should say that to him.” He chuckled.
They arrived shortly at the Steak House. Law was already grumpily waiting for Drake.
“You said you’d be here thirty minutes ago.” Law scoffed.
“My bad. I brought company.” Drake pointed at Nami.
“Nami-ya?” Law was shocked at the unexpected appearance of the girl.
Drake wanted to laugh out loud at the shocked state of Law. The rumors were indeed true. Maybe this lunch would be interesting.
“Hey Law!” Nami greeted.
Nami sat next to Drake while they are sitting in front of Law. Law ordered for Nami because Drake won't stop teasing him to pay for her.
"I never knew you were this close." Law stated as he looked at the two red heads conversing like its just the two of them.
"We knew each other for quite a long time and you know the thing about Robin." Nami explained. Drake and Robin used to date, however, things didn't proceed romantically as both have their priorities.
"Hn." Law quietly finished his meal.
The two red heads continued on talking. While he stayed quiet observing the two.
It didn't take too long for Drake to excuse himself. “I better go. We have emergency at the base. Walk her home or I’ll tell Cora-san that he did not raised you to be a gentleman. Surely, he will be disappointed.”
As a matter of fact, there was no emergency. He was just annoyed by Law’s state. He thought he would enjoy him squirm at the girl’s beauty, but it became boring since its not like his usual shitty attitude. Might as well give the two a little push. Maybe Nami could forgive some of his debts.
                             ───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───
"You don't really have to walk me home, Law. I'm going to the university to check on the progress of our team's prototype." Nami said.
"Nah. I'll walk you there. Could it be you're afraid of me?"
Nami was shocked by the question. She was quite shy that he is walking her to the university but not afraid.
"Nope. Why would I be afraid of you? I doubt a nerd could outrun me." She taunt.
"I don't think so. I may be a studious type of person but I have been athletic since I was middle school. I beat up Shachi and Penguin when I first met them."
"Being violent is not the same as athletic. Why would you even beat up your friends."
"It was their fault since they were bullying Bepo. We were all young back then." He argued.
She noticed he is awkwardly keeping distance between the two of them as they walk.
"You know, sometimes I don't get what you are thinking. Online we are so close, but offline we're so awkward." She said bluntly. If she wanted to move forward they would have to break their barriers.
"Its just that I don't know. When I'm with you I feel like a different person, Nami-ya. Every plan I make to get close to you, seems won't work. I guess plans do not apply to you and your friends."
"Do you really like me? Or are you just pressured from the people around us?" She was embarrassed to ask, but decided to ask anyway.
"Why would I be pressured? When I met you before it was just you, not my friends nor your friends. At first I thought I was just an infatuation, but it grew on me. Nami-ya, I like you."
She leaned to gift a light kiss on his cheeks. "Let's take it slow until you are used to being around me. We should hang-out like today more."
He stared a her rosy cheeks and glorious smile. What happened today will surely change them.
"Oh! I think we should give them our response, Mr. Heart stealer."
                             ───✱*.。:。✱*.:。✧*.。✰*.:。✧*.。:。*.。✱ ───
Their friend's phone rang with a notification; it was a tagged comment from Law. He posted a photo of Nami drinking coffee from a cafe. From the photo, they could see Law's favorite hat on the table.
'I don't know about being a Heart stealer, but this girl clearly stole my heart.' This was the caption of the photo.
Before their friends could comment on the post, another notification rang. Again, they were tagged in the comment section, but this time it was by Nami. The photo she posted was from the same cafe. A booked covered the lower area of this face, while his golden eyes looked straight to the camera. Nami leaned her cheek on the top of his head, while giving a bright smile and peace sign.
'Oops! Exams are still ahead. Gotta keep this nerd Heart stealer focused on studying.'
Nami captioned it this way to show that even if they will be moving forward, their dreams would be their top priority.
It wasn't long until her and his phone began ringing. They friends wouldn’t stop until they heard the whole story.

One Piece Wano Kuni analysis : How Oda brings small humanity touches in the plot of an epic/adventure story
Tumblr media
So far the Wano arc has been truly fantastic. All the characters of this arc are deep and have wonderful backstories and personalities. Besides, the world building is amazing and I do feel like I am in the middle of a revolution. I am feeling oppressed by the political system of this country and I really do feel attached to all these innocent people who have to suffer because of Orochi's madness. Unlike most stories I do understand the reason why there's a revolution going on behind the scenes. Through these long chapters where you can see children being taught propaganda about how great the shogun is in the Flower Capital while people from Ebisu's town are forced to smile despite their hardships I slowly learned to care about an imaginary country that I didn't even know a year ago. That's one of Oda's strenghts. Contrary to some arcs this isn't just about "saving those who asked for help". All these characters have an actual true and personnal reason to fight linked to their backstories or personnalities : Luffy's promise to O-Tama the little girl his dead big brother swore to protect, Zoro's desire to avenge Tonoyasu, Hiyori's hate for the man who ruined her life twenty years ago .....
Tumblr media
Actually for me this country and these characters have truly gained life. Discovering new things about the fascinating japanese culture through an arc from my favourite manga is a dream.
But Wano Kuni isn't just about worldbuiding. It's also about action. There's a revolution going on. There's this prophecy from Oden's mysterious wife. It's almost mythical. There are people who want to fight against this injustice. There are those who must keep living to give food to their starving kids but on the other side there are also people who didn't even know what the word "pain" is. In chapter 931 if I remember well Orochi said that the Wano country is like a paradise. There are all these geishas to bring happiness and music, banquets, cherryblossoms... But we, as readers, know what's going on. We know that this is just a bunch of lies. As Luffy stated in chapter 949 this country is a living hell. And if they don't fight, if they don't change the situation, these people are going to keep suffering. THAT'S WHY A REVOLUTION IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Otherwise nothing will change. The rich will become richer and the poor will become even more poor. Twenty fucking years of a dictatorship is like a lifetime for some people can you imagine that ?
So let's talk about this revolution. The epic perfect plan to overthrown the shogun (that Luffy kinda of fucked up no surprise there), the badass preparation for the final battle, Wano Kuni's background (the story of Hiyougoru, Tonoyasu's past...) and all this plot about keeping identities a secret or having a double identity (Komurasaki the courtesan as princess Hiyori, O-Toko as Ushimitsu (even if this last one is just a theory for now)...) is great. In fact these diversity of intrigues in just one arc is great. ( to name a few of them we have the Komurasaki-Kiyoshiro plot, Udon's prison plot, Zorro's lost sword plot....).
What I really enjoy about Oda's writing style is that he doesn't only shows the bright side of the revolution with all the epic battles and perfect strategy but also the darkest sides of being a renegade. There may be traitors among your allies, you may get captured and tortured, the ennemy is ready to do everything in order to get information from you and you may even die. There will be disagreements about what to do even inside the rebel alliance because not everyone will trust each other and every person is different : everyone has different beliefs and fears. Maybe the plan won't work and the revolution will fail (you can feel the characters insecurities in chapter 938 during the Law-Shinobu disagreement). Furthermore the revolution won't wok without some great sacrifices. Speaking about that...
Please can we take a moment to mourn Tonoyasu's death ? This man deserves some respect please pay tribute to him. He had a loving daughter and people he cared about and yet with just his life he changed everything. Without him the revolution would be truly doomed. At the moment when everything was going down for the rebel alliance he saved them. His public execution was the turning point and until now (we are in chapter 951) we didn't even know the full consequences of his death. This death really impacted me. How could a man sacrifice his own life to save a future he would never be able to see? Such a little yet great and bold move from Oda. ONE LIFE. ONE SACRIFICE. And yet it changed everything. The rebels have a new plan. A new hope. The revolution can keep going.
Respect Shimotsuki Yasuie.
Tumblr media
>RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS
And now dear friends we have reached the point where the title of my analysis finally makes some sense lol. Let's talk about human relationships inside this arc and name just a few of them.
-Tsuru and Kinemon, the lost lovers
-Luffy and O-Tama or how Ace lives in his little brother
-The nine red scabbards friendship
-The interactions between the members of the strawhat crew
-Hiyori and Zoro growing relationship (or should I call it "the new ship of the One Piece fandom"?). I hope they turn to lovers. They have a really good chemestry.♡
Tumblr media
-Hyogoro and Luffy, the master and the student
-O-Tama and Momonosuke friendship
-Komurasaki and Kiyoshiro hidden secrets
-Killer and Eustass Kidd, the partners
-Luffy's and Kidd's rivality
-Kawamatsu and Hiyori story
So we have romantic, friendly, and familiar relationships inside just one arc. It's intense. This is going to be huge.
I could analyse all the relationships between the characters of this arc but I want to especially talk about the one who impacted me the most. It's going to surprise you.
I want to talk about Nico Robin and O-Toko. The pannel from chapter 951 hit my heart really hard :
Tumblr media
You guys remember Robin's backstory right ? The daughter of a criminal who survive a genocide and was chased for years by the government because she was the "devil child". Robin lost her mother at an early age and I think that this is the reason that she kind of become a motherly figure. She has developed strong mother instincts.
Well when you think about it Toko's story is a little similar to Robin. She is chased by an entire country despite being a child mostly because her father was a criminal and she "disrespected" the shogun. But like Robin did in that fateful day in Ohara she laughed at it (well she is kind of obliged because of the SMILES fruit too...).
Robin loved the girl from the beginning: she saw her as a bright kid with a great sense of humor and she saved her during the Orochi banquet. So I think that when she saw that this little girl was being hunted down just like her years ago she swore to give her comfort and love. This hugging scene between O-Toko and Robin warmed my heart. They are just like a mother and a daughter and I think that the two of them really needed each other.
Do you see my point ? Even in a story full of action, with plans, battles and a revolution going on Oda manages to keep writing little heartfelt scenes like this one that allows the readers to not forget that more than just being fighters people must praise their humanity. These little touches of humanity add much more than you can even imagine in an action story like One Piece because they allow us to care about the persons for whom our protagonists are fighting.
What about you guys ? What are your thoughts about the Wano Kuni arc so far ? I would love to discuss with you about that !
