Thoughts on Octavinelle’s book and my newfound unrelenting love for Azul [[Spoilers Ahead!]]

Octavinelle's book is over and I've been found dead on the floor

God, I really couldn't have imagined that I would love octoboy so much. I'm also a powerhungry sexy bitch with glasses and platinum hair that used to be a chubby, bullied kid. Azul, my man, my heart goes out for you. Ruggie, you're on thin fucking ice, you better work that hyena ass if you still wanna be my favorite.

Anyways, here's some of my (dumb and silly) thoughts about this last installment of Book 3!!! 

Let’s begin with my precious child never missing the chance to wipe the floor with Leona’s ass. Also I love it when we have a flashback and everything gets black and white, I feel like I’m watching a old movie. Love that for us. 

Also, shoutout to Ruggie for being a LEGIT CRIMINAL baby boy I love you so much you’re doing great 

Trust me to go on about Savanaclaw while I’m trying to talk about Octavinelle... anyways, we find out that Azul’s used to be a bullied octochild back in the days, and his motivation to scam people and take their powers was his way to get back at his bullies. A terrible coping mechanism, yeah, but I gotta admit that the way he studied hard and mastered his craft is pretty impressive. 

Unfortunately, my boy overblots when Leona destroys the contracts. Apparently, Azul has this misguided idea that his power can only be maintained if he keeps stealing other people’s powers. Come on, my boy... no need to overblot over that... come onnnnn... you’re literally the biggest brain on these waters...  RESIST THE URGE!!

Every time these boys overblot and their killer designs appear on the screen I start yelling SLAAAAAAY, POP OFF QUEEN, SLAAAAAAAY Yana Toboso was on fire when she designed them. We have to fight Azul and smack some sense back into him. After some crying and some yelling, he’s back to normal. And again, no one adresses that these boys need a doctor. 

We have a few mentions of Ariel here and there, which is always very fun. Love when they reference the original Disney works. And love how everyone visited the Museum together at the end as if nothing had happened, as if Azul doesn’t need therapy instead of raging capitalism and an underground money-laundering-excuse of a restaurant. Ugh. Honestly, these boys... 

Now, let’s talk about this:

Last thing we have the “prologue” of what’s to come, with Kalim and Jamil doing their thing.

but yes!! azul is based on ursula from the little mermaid and he's the money-grubbing dorm leader for octavinelle (the ursula dorm). he's a master of the long con and he's incredibly smart and surprisingly diligent! you'd think since he's an unsavory type who likes to always have the upper hand he'd be prone to cheating, but he doesn't! he and his hired goons jade and floyd actually work really, really hard to keep up their money-making schemes, thank you very much 😤😤

he's in the tabletop board games club with idia (the shut-in hades guy) even though he DESPISES anything to do with chance (to the point of literally practicing his dice throwing to get the outcome he wants by minutely changing the angle and speed of his wrist flick a;sdf;kl). azul's tragic backstory (tm) is that he was bullied as a wee octochild for being fat and a crybaby 🥺 and for accidentally inking a couple times in class, probably

It's OCTOber I guess. I won't make regular drawings for different reasons, but today I managed to finish this sketch of my Octochild (she still needs a name)

This is no canon drawing, since she won't be able to keep her humanoid form in this age, but babies are way too much fun to draw, and I actuall, used my sleeping 8 month old as a reference for this.

This little pumpkin is actually born in october, so it's even better I managed to draw her close to her birthday again :)
