The play’s performance at Princeton earlier this month went off without a hitch. The next stop on the college tour may be different.

McAleer and McElhinney’s email newsletter shared news, gleaned from Instagram posts, that pro-Palestinina protestors plan to buy tickets to the show and “disrupt” the performance. The production will be held at UCLA on Oct. 7 – the one-year anniversary of the terror attacks.

“They want to start a riot and make it impossible for us to perform the play,” the newsletter said.

The HiT ‘cast spoke to McAleer and McElhinney earlier this week about what it took to produce a show like “October 7” given the violent protests we’ve already seen across the country.

“We were the only play in New York that needed a permanent police presence,” McAleer told the HiT ‘cast. “What kind of a world are we living in?”

“New York is home to the biggest Jewish population outside Tel Aviv, but it’s unsafe to put on a Jewish play giving voice to Israelis in New York,” he added.

McAleer said he kept one part of the security plans quiet during the show’s Big Apple run. His team hired an armed security guard to be on-site for every performance in addition to other precautions.

“That’s what we had to do to make the actors comfortable, so they could concentrate on their art,” he said. “I’m not sure a play about Palestine or Gaza from a Gazan’s perspective would need police protection outside.”

Thankfully, nothing untoward happened. The show went on for several weeks. The material still kept some actors from appearing in the show, the duo shared.

“A lot of actors didn’t want to do this play because they feared it might harm their career,” he said.

I love Turquoise October's music a lot in splatoon and it keeps annoying me that there is zero canon information on members or what they look like so I have decided to take matters into my own hands

this is Hal and Eye-bo, a duo who work together to make the diligence-inspiring music of Turquoise October. Eye-bo is the ideas guy, Hal is the hands guy.

Most of what Hal largely comes up with are the more low key songs like Inkstrike Shuffle, Octoling Rendevous, Octoweaponry, and Buoyant Boogie. Eye-bo adds more bounce and pep with his contributions, especially in Eight-Legged Advance, Tentacular Circus, and Cephaloparade. Callie did some collab work with them while she was mind controlled, which is why they sound much pop-ier and have her vocals woven into their second album.

Regardless, both consider the other's contributions on all the songs equal and won't take credit for specific songs or segments, because they know Turquoise October wouldn't sound the same without either one of them.

i only got into TBoM and Falsettos in 2020 but I 100% resonate with reading every mcpriceley fic on ao3 because i’ve done the same thing. i would KILL to see the book of mormon on fucking broadway like that’s probably on my life bucket list. and, oh my god, falsettos is like the only musical i’ve routinely cried over :( the proshot essentially DESTROYED me

The Falsettos 2016 revival is truly a work of art, William Finn's lyricism is one of my favorites of all time. It's neurotic, it's intricate, it's some of the smartest I've seen. Every day I still have to Google the words and phrases he uses and I've been watching it since 2017 (along with bom). The staging is gorgeous, using play blocks taken from a bigger box and using it exclusively as the set design and furniture to show how immature all of the characters really are. They're not in the real world, they're still playing with blocks. That is until the second half of the second act where the first real piece of furniture we see is (spoilers I guess) Whizzer's hospital bed. The tragedy finally brought them all back to reality and their petty family drama suddenly looks like child's play.

My story began with the loss of my parents and four of my sisters, who were bombed and lost their lives along with their children after the events of October 7 and the severe war on Gaza. Now, I am facing a severe injury to my leg, which is at risk of amputation if I do not receive the necessary treatment. My wife, children, and I are displaced, without parents or siblings, and my wife is also suffering from uterine cancer.

Recently, I moved to the south of the Gaza Strip, fearing for the lives of my children. We left behind our memories and our new home, for which we had not finished paying the installments, in addition to losing my job. Currently, I live in a tent that does not protect me from the heat of summer or the cold of winter, and without the minimum necessary livinng basics including water, food medical care, clothe and even bedding .

I suffer from a chronic asthma and severe attacks from tightness and an extreme allergy in the ear and I need medicine that are not available, or very expensive .

Under these difficult circumstances, after five attempts at displacement and narrowly escaping death from the bombing, I am trying with all my might to protect my family, the most precious thing I have.

My dreams were shattered, and my house was destroyed, and I found myself living in a tent no larger than 4 square metres. My work turned from a tailor to a street vendor in order to barely buy a few crumbs of bread to feed my children.

Look at what happened to my children because of the intense heat and the insects that thrive in the summer season. Every day, I take them to the hospital to treat them due to poisonous insect bites. I implore every kind-hearted soul to help me protect my children.

My son, Abdul Rahman, has a deep passion for playing football and is a devoted fan of Real Madrid. He always dreamed of playing football at his school, but the war prevented this dream from coming true.

This is a well-known Palestinian user and vetter explaining that they are completely confident that the pornbotlike ask sent by an account with a verified fundraiser was a result of "embarrassing behavior/a mistake in online interactions."

This would be more plausible if it was a one time occurrence, but this blog sent the exact same ask to (at minimum) three separate accounts:

These asks are all identical, to the letter - that's how I found them. This is, needless to say, very strange for any person to do on tumblr, least of all someone who is raising money to try and protect their family from a genocide. glitzyboo, for example, does not post images of themselves or reblog anything remotely close to NSFW, so it's very very odd behavior for someone to tell them they are "pretty enough" for anything. It is even more suspicious when you consider the very long history of porn bots sending sugar daddy scam asks on this site.

I don't know what is going wrong here - who is mistaken about what, what part of the process is breaking down, but the story told in the above post, that this was an embarrassing social faux pas that happened one time and was sent by a real person who was horny, does not hold up to scrutiny.

The US military has completed its 500th flight airlifting over 50,000 tons of weapons and equipment to the Israeli army for its over ten-month onslaught against Palestinians in Gaza, the Israeli Defense Ministry announced on 26 August. In addition to the weapons and equipment airlifted to Israel since 7 October, Washington has sent Tel Aviv 107 shipments of military supplies by sea. A Defense Ministry statement said the shipments include “armored vehicles, munitions, ammunition, personal protection gear, and medical equipment, which are crucial for sustaining the IDF’s operational capabilities during the ongoing war.” The weapons shipments – that have enabled Israel to kill over 40,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and render Gaza uninhabitable – come as White House officials claim that US presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris has been “working tirelessly” for a ceasefire agreement. Muhammad Shehada of EuroMed Human Rights reported on 25 August that, according to multiple senior officials in Doha who were directly involved in the Israel–Gaza ceasefire talks, “There are currently no negotiations, only a sham theatre play.”
